The wind user had been getting very restless simply serving people in the silver moon, it had been several days since her last mission and that was rather abnormal for the ace of spades. Normally? It was the other way around, she was the one always gone off on missions with barely anyone knowing where she had gone, the one bringing in money and wrecking anything she could cast magic onto. Jiyu had goals in life and her current one involved doing enough to become a wizard saint so she could open the letter left to her by her mother, the one that she wasn't supposed to open until she became one of the best mages or decided to give up magic for good, though she did not understand why her mother would have written such. Whatever was in that letter? Had to be connected to the demon slayer who ended the life of the demoness who bore her, so the inugami was intent on doing enough to be recognized as a mage powerful enough to be called a saint, it really didn’t get higher than that so it was the time she set. Of course, Kaze also worked so much because the girl was never much content with being idle, to begin with, doing the same thing for minimal yield every single day had never been the former ship rats style. Instead? She was the kind to take the day by its horns and beat it into submission in an aloof just going about my day sort of way. Since she had gotten bored of simply being a waitress again, the canine chose to take a mission once more today, a very easy decision for her to make, though finding the right job was a bit harder than making the choice to take on a task.

“This one should do” her clawed hand held the flimsy piece of paper that she was incapable of shredding even if she should want to for some odd reason. The temptation of getting into a ring of fighter’s as a person weak in body and crushing those fighters who thought they would never be beaten? Well, maybe it was something that appealed to her because one of her faces wanted to make people feel the way she felt when she had been chained to a cold dirt floor, helpless and defeated. However the current personality in charge was more so looking at the request because it mentioned a tag team division and she always enjoyed working with anyone who was not a fire mage, networking was good for her goals. “The reward isn’t that bad either.” not that she used jewel for much, she didn’t have the time for casual shopping with all the jobs she took, she simply just kept going, so the jewel rewards were a minimal motive at best. Jiyu kept carefully reading the job flyer for a few more minutes and decided that this was likely the best one since she was not going on a spree this time but simply occupying her time for the day, so she tucked it into her bra, since she wasn’t wearing a shirt and her daisy duke shorts had no pockets.

Getting to sphere island was always a fun experience for the girl, while she could simply fly there on her own power or even teleport by merging with her element? Jiyu chose to take the ship ride across the ocean, spend the time talking with people she had come to know very well when she ran away from home and stayed on ships with them to make herself harder to track down. Now there was no need for the original motive anymore since she did not look like the girl who would be on missing posters if anyone was still looking, so the woman decided to have fun on her way to this mission. “Thanks for the ride.” she waved her clawed hand with her lavender tail wagging, three step turning as she did this so that she just kinda started on her way towards her locational goal. The arena was somewhere near the center of the town that had sprouted up here so she would just follow the scent of sweaty over compensating men to make getting the general direction easier. Maybe it was mean to think that way, but the inugami really did not care, she was only here to defeat any enemy they sent her way and eventually come out as one of the victors of this competition. The female just had to hope she did not encounter anyone who was very swift and good at melee attacks because her body could not endure that sort of opponent if she lost to someone like that she would be out of commission for several days. “I wonder who the other mage is, though.” she did clearly sign on for the team division part of this contest, so there was going to be someone here she was matched up with. How was she going to figure that part out anyways? The female would likely use her extra sensitive hearing and sense of smell to figure out who was waiting on her, since she wouldn’t be able to see them. Even if she walked around like some normal mage, the vision she possessed was very poor and even though she was barely even 100 feet away from the massive arena, the wind mage could not see the structure, that entire part of her vision was pretty much black.

Kazehime took the job poster from her garment, unfolding it to read once more “Oh there is a meeting place mentioned on this after all” she had just skimmed it before sadly. However, this lead her more screwed, because the meeting place was written visually and she did not navigate her world by sight. How was she going to find where she was supposed to meet up with the other mage when none of the information was anything that could help her!  “Shit. I guess I'll have to wander around the area’s I think might be this meeting spot until the other mage guesses I'm the one they're waiting on.” this was going to be a bit embarrassing especially since very few people knew how almost blind she was, since her incredibly enhanced hearing and scent normally compensated alongside the wind aiding her. Why did the wind think she knew where to go this time? The lavender haired girl shook her head as her crimson eyes glanced around to see if she could make anything out, everything was still blurry further than ten feet from her.

The same kid who placed up the job request from King of Fighters wanted to get another lump some of jewels. He was a smart one for sure, he was making a good investment when it came to investing in the mages of Fiore. Considering their talents, it was nothing too surprising now that the brunette thought about it. However, he was not going to be going out with his usual gear and that useless stuff. If anything, his new magic needed to be taken for a spin, and this was the perfect excuse to do so. And since it was a test, he did not tell Ignite about it. That was why he took the job request a few days ago and had been assigned a location as well a couple days after that. Now it was the present day, and being so used to reading letters and looking for locations, he was able to translate the blocks of words that were usually rather difficult to translate. Seems like sheet music had a lot more of a use than he expected, since it was a code on it’s own. With accidentals and random short notes said in such weird ways, it was not a surprise to him, and if anything, felt like a normal letter.

And so he would be off in search of the Sphere Island. It was time to use Yuni, the one who can conveniently teleport him to a place he had been before. There was no time to be wasting of course. So he would then flick out a sliver key from his pocket. “I open the gate of the Chronicle Mage. Come forth, Yuni!” The tip of the key would shine in bright white light as he would slice down the magic key, letting it open up the Celestial world successfully and reveal a timid looking young lady with snow white hair and bright red eyes. Her hands would be folded forward, lips locked in a neutral form while her eyes were halfway closed. “Is there… Anything you need?” The Celestial would ask of him, tilting her head to the side as her words would echo in his office, despite how shyly she let them escape her lips. The Guild Master would nod his head. “Yes. I need to get back to Sphere Island, and I have visited there before. Can you take me there?” This was the request he would explain, in which the Celestial would not even reply. Instead, her soft steps would aim towards him before the shorter spirit would reach her arm up to touch his forehead, his eyes closing in the process to prepare for what was going to happen after that. What she was doing was scanning his mind and locating the memories within in, trying to locate the Sphere Island before using her magic to teleport him towards the island. It only worked out however when the user was once at that area, so he can’t use it whenever he wanted to. If so, the dark guilds of Fiore would be wiped out from existence as of right now.

Within a few seconds, she successfully located the sphere island within his memories before the both of them vanished from his office without a trace. Using her magic power, she would carry his body through the Celestial Spirit world, though it would be a bunch of blinding light in his eyes if he dared open it. While he was indeed a strong summoner, no one had given him permission to actually look into the world. As a result, he was only able to travel through it, which was perfectly fine with him. Previously, he was able to summon the king of the Celestials, by sacrificing Virgo of course. It was a great loss to him that day, losing Virgo… It took him so long for that key to be repaired. Elyx would think twice before using it, and will ONLY use it whenever his life was going to be ended. In this case though, it was used to help a friend before he died. Zack right now was merely a mortal without any magic at this point, and the 13th zodiac was now within his own body, contained and unable to use its own power. Elyx was not sure if he will ever be able to use it’s power, but if he was, it was going to be one hell of a nightmare for those on the receiving end off things.

Once he arrived, Yuni returned back to the Celestial Spirit world, full well knowing her task had been done. With this, he would then look back down to the paper in his hand, saving the location details in his head before proceeding to walk around. His clothes were casual and made him seem more like a commoner. A tighter white V-Neck T-Shirt and a pair of acid blue jeans, that was pretty much it. While he did not look like a fighter, he probably could solo every single enemy in the arena at the same time. But he was going to be working with someone, just to make things a lot more interesting. Besides, in this test, it was going to require him to fight more than just one strong foe, but two.

When he arrived to the assigned location to meet his partner, his golden eyes would lock onto a unique looking character, most certainly one that stood out from the rest. She was a bluenette with no top, but just simply a bra. The bottom half of her would only consist of shorts, that was about it. Did she hold a grudge against clothing? There was a lot of her skin being revealed, definitely too much in public in his opinion. Oh well, it was not in his place to be judging her for her style of clothing, it seems like she was his partner. Still however he needed to make sure. While keeping a few meters of distance between them, he would begin to speak. “Hey there. I assume you were told to come to this location, right?” He asked before holding up his paper. “I was told to come here as well. Nice to meet ya. I’m Elyx.”

    1040 words

The wind user was currently trying to make out the general layout of the area she was in, trying to assemble a visible map within her head. Doing that? Was very difficult for Jiyu because she was very adapted to not caring about anything visual around her outside of the ten feet she could see clearly, so having to rake the area ten feet at a time and remember the information, was hell on a brain that normally did not bother storing that sort of stimulus for very long! Kazehime’s memory was largely based in the way things sounded and smelt so now she was fighting desperately to hold the images within her brain long enough to be able to try and find the place she was supposed to meet up with her partner and remember how to get to that place as well. Sadly the distance behind her that she had not checked yet was actually the meeting place, she had not been very far from it whatsoever but had been unable to figure that out due to having yet to turn around and see the landmark described on the flyer. Why did human and such have to be so fixated on what they saw? It was one thing to say something was gorgeous and want others to see it, but knowing other species didn’t all fumble around based on sight, giving directions rooted in sight was rude and idiotic. Jiyu was heavily cursing this job in the back of her mind as a voice cut through the normal chatter of the crowd, to get someone’s attention and considering her current circumstances she hoped it was someone trying to get her attention and tell her that they were meant to work together! There was a possibility it was just someone yelling at her to stop acting lost, but she really hoped her partner had found her even though she didn’t know where she was supposed to be waiting.

Luck cursed her once more as when the long haired woman whirled around, revealing the massive black rose emblem on her stomach at the same time, she found whoever had shouted was outside of her visual range. How was she supposed to figure out who had called out to her if she could not see who was staring at her after they called out? Any common fool with less pride would simply ask the person who called to repeat themselves, but Jiyu did not like to rely on other people for something simple as getting around, so she had to find another way to handle this thing. How could she figure out who she was suppose to be walking towards when she had never met them before? It was about that time she realized one of the scents was not so foreign as the other stenches were, this one was something she knew was somewhere in her memories! It was very possible that her partner could be someone she knew, heck maybe someone who already knew she had vision trouble. Slowly the female closed her eyes and sniffed the air, twitching her elfin ears to figure things out, collect the information she worked best with. Before even a second had passed she could see a field of mist around her, the scent of another wilder of the wind filling her nose and lining it, bringing a small smile to her pale pink lips. Jiyu clearly recalled this scent that was slightly nostalgic but fairly new at the same time, for this was one that while she had only encountered them once before it had been on a day to remember! Izayuki’s wedding, this was the husband of her tanuki guild master, the canine could tell that clearly, now she just had to use her senses to walk in the right direction. Having figured out who she needed, the wind user walked with ease almost as if she could actually clearly see where she was going, quickly seeing the brown haired male come into view. “Yeah, though they could have given better directions.” she did stray a bit from the mission objective, considering this man was so closely bound to someone she trusted, it made her distrust him a little less, though that was not to say it made her trust him instinctively, but if he was bad she was sure that she would have heard about it already from Marschal or such.

Why was he introducing himself? Jiyu blinked her crimson eyes slightly a blank deer in headlights look entrancing her face, trying to figure it out when suddenly the wind picked up a strand of her hair, lifting it in front of her face to remind her that she had changed her appearance recently. “Oh.” a small sound escaped her throat and the female realized that even if Elyx remembered her the male would be likely unable to recognize her like this. “I know. My name is Jiyu, I was at your wedding thought I looked different then.” the female offered the information, one hand playing with her long hair a small smile presented on her face as she realized they were for sure both here for the same thing, thus making it much easier. Even if she did not know the Golden Phoenix Master well, he was much better than some stranger. “Let's get going the fighting will start soon, I can hear they’re almost done with pre-fight announcements.” it was another good use of her incredible hearing range and the fact they were within 1,000ft of the arena.

The first fight did not take long to start once they arrived, the opponents were both rather ugly but Jiyu could not see that, instead she listened to everything the wind said to her as it helped her fill in the little things her sense’s could not. The second one of the enemies ran for her she knew what it was doing and stayed still, knowing from the feel of the opponent's magic that they were weak. A second later she narrowed her eyes and the enemy just fell before it could reach them. Now it was time to see how Elyx would perform, well hear and smell.

She would mention that she attended the wedding of Iza and him back a few months ago. If that were the case, he most certainly had not recognized her or remember her, but that data was kept between the two guilds and the special invites. If the special invites began to leak data of it, that probably would have explained it. But before that could be considered a possibility, she would continue on with her explanation, telling him that she went by the name “Jiyu”. Unfortunately, still not a familiar name, but that was nothing that he was quite able to confirm or deny. And right now, they seemed to be partner for this fight, so breaking any form of bond between them, no matter how little it was, would probably be an awful idea. So the next course of action was simply fighting. “Good idea. I think actions speak far louder than words ever could anyways.” The wind slayer would explain before stepping up to the battle arena, the enemies being presented in front of the both of them. The one that his eyes aimed for specifically was the three-headed tiger, as it would snarl back at him. Looks like the both of them have chosen their targets and battle was going to begin.

They took off, the monsters did at least. One of them seemed to fall down easily under some form of influence. Looking to the side, he would notice that his partner was not seemingly doing anything. However, it was forced down to the ground somehow. That was definitely some special form of magic, but hey, it was definitely effective. The tiger would directly try to leap at him, in which he would quickly form a shield of wind in front of him before launching it towards the direction of the monster. The claws met the windy creation, resulting in a successful block… That Tiger was going to have a bad time. Because of the fact that Elyx was able to block an attack, a variety of his spells could be unlocked. The option he decided to go for this time would probably be the Sky Deity Force Palm. It was pretty much using air pressure to throw his opponents around, and that can open up the evasion spells that he had in his magic as well. Elyx wanted to be the ultimate defense and use it as an offense, the test was proving to be very successful so far, but there was still more that needed to be done. The brunette would brush the front bangs of his hair to the side with his left hand, pretty much displaying that this was nothing too hard for him to handle. Now it was time for a simple combo.

His right hand, the Force Palm hand, would pull back towards his direction, sending a massive gust of wind to be launched towards the Tiger and sending the Wind-Make shield towards him. Once the shield and the Tiger got within range, he’d launch his body up into the air by springing his right leg, spinning his outstretched left leg to slam against the shield. Due to the effect of the shield, it would be launched high up into the air… Before exploding, the tiger being up there with it as well. It was still flying at this moment due to the force that had been used to launch the shield and the tiger up in the first place. Seems like there was nothing that really had to be done. One spell and one ability to completely shatter through a monster, this was interesting. Maybe it was not quite as offensive as he had been hoping for, but the damage done onto an opponent definitely stacked. Besides was this truly his fullest power? The brunette did not like to think so, since he still had a complete set of magic to be using rather than a simple spell.

“That was a very easy battle to be truly honest with you. Nice job with the other enemy, didn’t even flinch.” Elyx would comment on her work with the other enemy, making it surrender while she did not even move out of place. His arms would cross his chest before he looked back to the opposite side of the arena, waiting for their opponents. “I’ve done this one time before. The final guy who challenges you won’t be that hard. He’s just going to be a little bit hard to actually put down, he’s a tank. Fortunately, I’m far more of a tank, so he will have a hard time outlasting us.” The Guild Master would explain, noting that he was probably the only solo fighter they would be facing. All of the other enemies fought in pairs of two, but that last one fights on his own. Honestly, the sky slayer was still unsure as to why that might have been the case. But hed then shake his head from side to side, noting that it matter little to what they were doing anyways, and the the real focus should be put on the tournament.

The next two opponents would then arrive a little bit later on through the gates, preparing to give the both of them a round two without even so much as a rest. Seems like they were fighting this battle in a gauntlet form. A test of endurance to see if they can last long enough to make it to the final enemy. If he had known though, he might have conserved a bit more of his health. But it mattered little to him anyways, it was current knowledge, so now nothing too flashy had to be done. The opponents seemed to provide a little bit more of a challenge than the last two enemies did. To be fair though, a D rank mage seemed to be more of a challenge than the last two enemies that the both of them fought, so that was still a thin.

Honestly she wished that she had some degree of control to activate her aura’s at will instead of just when someone tried to battle against her. While it was nice to be powerful and have the strength she did when at the side of the element she had chosen to bind her magic too? Often times like right now, the level of strength she had achieved could make fighting a little too easy, take some of the satisfaction out of it for the side of her who enjoyed it as a sport instead of a way to exercise control over the world around her for fear she would be dominated again herself. Who was she trying to kid, if she tried hard enough she would be able to get control over the aura’s, she willing let them wild because she was so afraid of someone rendering her to harm once more and it was tons harder to hurt her when they activated so quickly to protect her. Jiyu just wished she would have gotten slightly more of a chance to show off, a slight disappointment in her crimson eyes as she realized just how little of her ability she got to display to her job partner. Kazehime wasn’t exactly an attention seeker but she would have liked at least the slight chance to show off, especially considering the actions of her tag team partner!

Elyx finished off his opponent leaving them as the one’s left in the ring to face the next round of enemies. Kaze glanced at him slightly as he started speaking again and she glanced at him, happy he had not moved much and thus she could still see him fairly clearly. Not being able to look at people talking directly to her? Sometimes did get annoying if she knew they believed she could see them and she was unsure if he knew of her poor vision or not. “Yeah, normally the monsters on jobs are a bit tougher than that, only a bit though.” she did have a massive reservoir of spells and abilities to pull from, it was disappointing she had not even gotten to use a single one of them in taking down her opponent and it looked as if despite putting on a more impressive show, Elyx had been unable to truly show case himself as well. Were they fighting people beneath their league? Well damn, that was damning, two powerful mages bullying people they were starting to realize could never stand a chance against them. However dropping out now was not really an option and this was a job, so she really didn’t feel too bad at all. Plus even if she felt bad? Her assertive face would just take the emotion away from her and store it for later, so it wasn’t worth it. “I’ll save my best trick for last then.” the girl mentioned it, her tail wagging briefly at the thought of taking on some of the traits of her true form to fight. One day? She would get the full transformation down, hopefully. Anyways the next batch of enemies came to them quickly enough and that was good because she wanted a chance to actually show her magic this time!

Jiyu could not see her opponents due to the distance, but the wind whispered how they appeared to her, maybe even suggesting which one she should take on. In the end Jiyu chose the one standing most leftward, the massive thing that the wind said looked like a horrible mistake between a butterfly, an elephant and a gorilla over a stiff drink. Extending her hand she smirked slightly as a massive tornado suddenly erupted around the beast basically taking it down before it even really had a chance to engage in the fight. However, she really did hope Elyx knew how to do team work because for the moment she would be screwed if the other enemy tried to deck her, cause she couldn’t move her legs due to connecting all her focus on making sure the tornado appeared since normally it would be several of them. If one looked carefully? They could see that the big tornado was actually multiple tornadoes swirling in the same spot.

She was incredibly powerful no one could deny that after all her hard work to get to this point, but she had neglected other skills to get up here and one of those might be evaluating her opponents first sometimes. While she was not stupid? Sometimes she threw logic away for her own enjoyment when there was no real danger. Well, this time doing that was going to seriously cost her, the flames licked around the male's hand and could smell the burning air, hear as it sizzled from heat and knew that fire magic was ever so close.Jiyu easily broke out in a light sweat, her eyes looking hazy as if she was not all there suddenly due to the presence of fire, suddenly she was seeing her house on fire and blackness, feeling searing pain as her flesh was burned, but none of it was real except for the fire the enemy was wielding. The memories were strong enough that when he lunged towards Kazehime with one of his fire fists the wind user was saved from the impact by the fact she passed out as soon as he was twenty feet from her, collapsing to the ground leaving blank air where she had been priorly, causing confusion in the enemy. In the end, the opponent left for Elyx to face was standing over the god slayer’s ally with flaming hands, looking confused as to if he had defeated the pale woman or not if he should still punch her or let the unconscious whimpering canine go at that. It was not every day someone passed out during the middle of a fight with their clothing soaked by sweat, simply from the presence of fire. Of course so focused on the wind user who had passed out due to the trauma of her past, the blond wearing red arm bracers had likely forgotten about his second opponent.

Post by King Elyx 11th March 2017, 4:51 pm

The fire users began the bout, trying to aim for Jiyu first with two flaming fists. It was a basic opening… So in what world was his partner supposed to fall to the ground all of a sudden as if any impact had happened… It was something he did not understand at all. With that said though, it did not change the fact though that a battle was going on… So taking the chance as quickly as he could, he decided to make the sly move of summoing another wind shield and launching it towards the opponent. The fire user would turn around toward the shield, instinctively punching it. “Big mistake!” The brunette would exclaim, charging towards the limp body of his partner before picking her up, then leaping out of the way. The fire user that broke the shield that he had would end up being caught in the secondary effect of the shield. The explosion caused massive H rank damage onto them, resulting in the end of that battle right there, though that left the other opponent still standing for him to face. The fire user that had been caught in the explosion was launched over the audience and out of the arena. Perhaps the shields had a little bit…. Too much power. Regardless though, it was able to even the terms now… Kind of. While it was true that it was technically a one on one kind of battle, his partner had been knocked out, her being on his shoulders.

“If you can still hear me, I want you to know that everything is going to be all right.” Elyx promised, clenching his teeth as the other fire user would hold a sphere of fire in his hand. With that, he would slam it to the ground, sending a huge wave of fire towards him. Seems like they were not even going to have a chance to rest, but he was designed to be defensive. While he would love to look good to the crowd and stand there, taking the hit and healing his body at the same time, he found himself unable to do that unfortunately, for that will also hurt the one that was currently on his shoulders. So with no arms available, he was going to have to do his best to fight without using magic… This was going to be an extremely tough task for him. The sweat on his forehead indicated the amount of heat that he was taking right now, and that it would be best to use magic. But he would rather not have Jiyu hurt, and something about the fire had some sort of special effect on her it seemed. The fact was, she was far too vulnerable, and if Elyx did not hold his cards well, his opponent could use her as blackmail for him to admit defeat. It was a cruel tactic, but one used very often in the real world battles.
“I’m not going to lose to you… And I’m not going to let you hurt her either. If you want to do either, you’re going to have to try much harder than that.” Elyx declared, jumping over the huge wave of fire with as much strength as he could, successfully evading the attack. Upon landing on the ground, his opponent would launch a fireball towards his direction. His body would move swiftly towards the right side, to avoid that, running forward in the process. The fire mage ran backwards, trying to cut the distance between the both of them, and naturally making the brunettes task harder. A barrage of fireballs had been launched, his legs trembling as he had to react to all of them so that he would not end up taking the brunt of one of the attacks. As a result, he nearly made it… Only one burn on his face, but the pain ended up being used to heal his body instead. A smirk would cross his lips, his secret had been out if one paid attention closely. The cream of the crop about his magic was that he was able to take damage and make it heal him instead. With this, what damage was able to stop him in the first place? Naturally, there was a cost. He was forced to lose health whenever someone tried to heal him. It was a reversal of roles. Something so simple, yet something so rare.  Of course, having magic that does this probably would be a rare trait to have. Still however, it was something Shima was able to bless him with, and he was glad that it was having a great effect on the battle now.

Once the scratch he obtained was used to heal him, he would continue running, closing the distance between them before jumping into the air with a high leg. The brunette tried to slam it down onto his opponent’s skull, only for the fire mage to roll out to the side before firing another fireball at him. Elyx landed on the ground, and he seemingly was going to take the hit of the magic… But he had H ranked reflexes and speed, his eyes would lock onto the fireball before kicking it back at the enemy. They did not see a thing coming and would take the hit of the fireball, making them stumbling back. With this Elyx would take his chance, running once again before kicking himself up into the air, swinging his leg to the side, his ankle meeting the cheek of the fire mage and slamming them against the arena wall, knocking them out in the process. The amount of energy used for that fight was insanely high…. But he was able to save his partner. “Jiyu… It’s over. I handled them. Are you there? Jiyu!” He placed her body down onto the ground, trying to examine her to see if there were any wounds, but he was unable to locate anything that seemed hurt on her.

Post by Jiyu Kazehime 25th March 2017, 4:43 pm

    1005 words

Everything inside of her brain was pretty much entirely black as she tried to figure out where she even was and recall why she was drifting in oblivion. Of course? Jiyu knew it was because she had passed out once more for some reason, but she could not recall that reason due to her brain trying to protect her from whatever had happened, everything was groggy and pain welled up. Kazehime had a very weak body so even if she fell and someone caught her, not doing so exactly right could cause her harm. The only right way to catch Jiyu was to turn yourself into a full body pillow. Otherwise? There was the risk some part of her overly fragile skin would scrape the ground and cause her to become injured far more than it would for a normal person. Kazehime hated how weak she was physically and she hated how easily she could be rendered unconscious by certain stimuli, but most of all she despised how she could not recall why she was clawing her way out of pitch blackness once more, it was infuriating and that energy just funneled right into her assertive face, causing the little beast to stir slightly her claws turning red. Jiyu realized what was starting to happen and instantly she tried to assure her other faces that there was no reason for anyone to switch in, she had everything under control, no a single need existed for anyone else especially the red marked one, to overtake their body. Luckily it ended up working as the world started getting brighter, but the girl wondered how many more times she could do that until finally one day they decided not to listen, she got out voted and the face of vengeance which her species were well known for finally emerged from her and took vengeance for all the things she had siphoned from them, wondered how much anger existed within the fourth face. Assertive was saving them however the other Jiyu was also dooming herself to be the one the other three wanted to keep under wraps at any cost afraid of what she would take away from the world should she be unleashed, what she could end up losing for them, who she could chase away. It was painful but even if they were stuck together for eternity, they would not all be able to always get along, that was why they agreed to go with the majority opinion. Mysterious was happy that the popular vote was still that she be in control due to the fact she had more experience with the outside world since the other three had been born from her, they all knew that she was what remained of who they were before becoming an Inugami.

Something strangely broke the silence this time, normally when she was in this state of trying to fight to consciousness no one spoke to her, she would hear purring and occasional almost clear words sometimes but consistently blurred words were not something that frequently happened. The speech gave her mind something to latch to as it started crawling its way back towards the world of the waking. Suddenly she became aware of some form of warmth attached to her being which made her heart stop, the misty scent she now associated with elyx drifting into her nose from nearly on top of her. “NO!!!!!!!!” the female’s crimson optics flew open, her weak arms instantly pushing upwards as if to shove something off her, optics shining in something that could be taken for nothing except pure, unaltered, unrivaled fear, a nearly petrifying terror that gripped her body the very second she believed he was touching or had touched her, thought he may be kneeling over her body. “Don’t, Don’t…” the wind was quick to whisper at the nape of her neck, pushing against her and denying her will in an attempt to tell her this was entirely the wrong place to break down. Tears rolled down her face as she scooted away from the man who had actually saved her, arms covering her chest and tail curled up between her legs both because she was a dog and it was a way to protect part of her anatomy. Something clearly was not right with Jiyu as she trembled on the ground, as if her team mate was someone who had harmed her before and was about to do it again.

Seconds ticked by and with the help of the wind she realized past her blacked out thoughts that the man in front of her was not one of her captors, it was Elyx who considerably was pretty much her brother in law. Even if they did not know well, fearing him was a new low to the after effects of her two-year imprisonment. “I-I… I’m sorry just don’t touch me. Thanks about the fire thing.. I, I’m not good with flames.” she averted her gaze, sitting up to her knees and looking at the ground. With that the announcer basically said she had to get up for the next fight or they were out, so she struggled to get back up with fear still in her blood, managing barely.

“Let’s do this.” she made a side comment as the next two opponents came into the ring. “I got the dragon like one!” with that she summoned a whip made of the wind, cracking it once as the beast flew forward. Honestly she hated using such a close combat tactic, but it was one of the best choices right now, waiting for the exact right moment before she lashed out carefully with precision she could only achieve if something was within twenty feet of her, grabbing it by the neck with the whip, yanking violently to the ground, using the creature's own size to take it down. Once she had it on the ground? For good measure she lashed out twice more, winning her part of this fight easily.

One swing after another, waves of compressed air managed to form waves on the water’s surface. With each swing and kick, it would wave and weave accordingly. In union with the chaos of destruction, the liquid remained rather calm even as the huntress danced atop it. An athletic slender figure, bare of any clothes. Her muscles tensed up with each movement she made. A small sanctuary all of her own for the time being, hidden deep within the woods that not many visited for their bad reputation. But she could not care less, for her power exceeded so much at this point, she did not even have to consider the option of possibly running into a worthy opponent here. And so, she walked through the spooky forest for as long as she pleased, even the predators avoiding someone with magical power so high and in full view of one’s senses. She walked and walked, unsure of what she was in search of, if anything at all. But she did find it eventually, a small opening in a thick vegetation that lead her to a secluded flooded cave. The walls were all covered in moss that thrived on the moist atmosphere and air in this place. With the foreign souls of power dancing together inside of her body, the huntress was even capable of walking on the water’s surface with ease, as if it was ground as much as the dirt she was on before. Ever since few days back, she had spent most of her time here, training. But was she improving at all? No matter how many punches or kicks she would send out, it felt as if she was not progressing anywhere. And so, as the sweat slowly ran down her dark skin, she stood still. Breathing in and out heavily, she stretched. The natural state of human being felt the best after all. The moment she figured out this place was hidden from the reach of humanity, she removed all of her attire and threw it at a nearby rock. Training in nothing but her birthday suit, for some reason it felt much more effective for the girl that held an odd disdain for clothes. No one could judge her for anything in here. It was her training ground and no one else’s after all. But as soon as she stopped her movements and tried to relax her body, a thundering voice reached her vulpine ears.

”Ending rather abruptly, aren’t we? I thought you wanted to control all of my powers at full. But you will never reach such level of power if you take breaks like these for no good reason. Your body is not even aching yet!”

A titanic wolf, probably bigger than a regular home you would see in human city. His fur of abyssal black color, nestled in the cave as much as he could. And those shining bright red eyes, still hidden beneath that skull mask of his. He was not truly there. The body that the girl was seeing right now had perished centuries ago. But the wolf’s soul was inside the huntress, inside Eris. And it was more than capable of communicating with her through means like this, a projection forced into her head and eyes. If she was to reach out, she would touch nothing more than air. And yet, it felt so real that she could almost swear she could feel the fluffy fur of his. Shame he was not a female wolf taking on a humanoid form. Then the view would surely be much more pleasant for all of them, without a doubt. Crossing her arms across her chest, the girl put up a cheeky grin as her ears twitched a bit, the fluffy tail behind her body slowly moving from left to right, it’s tip hitting the water’s surface with each movement and causing small ripples to travel out and disappear right after. It was clear that her confidence did not drop one bit even when facing such seemingly terrific beast. Some would surely be scared of it even while knowing that he was not truly there. Such was the nature of Visor it seemed, his power exceeding what everyone thought possible. The one single most powerful ancient guardian to ever protect Joya, undefeated to the very end. Now, his soul rested with the huntress they all chose, lending her portion of his power.

”My muscles would not ache even if I was to keep this up for days on end without taking a single break. Not to mention that just doing this is really boring! Trying to fight imaginary ghosts… where are all the good real opponents, seriously…”

With those words, the girl shifted around her power a bit, the seemingly tribal marks beneath her eyes slowly disappearing as her feet started sinking into the water. And soon, she was fully submerged and swimming around, the sweat washing from her body with each motion, caressing her soft, yet scarred skin. Even though she did not exhaust herself at all, it was a pleasant feeling. Being simply enveloped by the element, embraced by it and cleansed fully. Sensation that brought another soul from the darkness. Kaya, terror of the deep. An Undine that was yet another powerful ancient guardian. She on the other hand appeared much more humanoid that Visor, her figure actually having proportions quite similar to those of Eris herself. Though of course she was still a mythical being that was quite the ways away from being considered a regular human being.

”Arguing again? What I saw was the girl crushing just about anything that dared to stand in our way before she found this place. So I say she is already powerful plenty, no need for your powers Wolfy. You’re the laziest one of us anyway, I’m surprised you’ actually bothering to help at all.”

As usual, her tongue had a sharp tone that managed to force the Abyssal soul to grown with distaste. It was not unusual for the souls to argue like this, it already happened many times in the past. And eventually, they would always get back together, get along. After all, they were all in this situation together - stuck inside of a huntress that had the power to control them all at will. Something that you would not see everyday, it simply had to be respected in at least some manner. Not like they were too bothered by that fact either, as it was surely better than their souls just kinda resting in the soil of Joya, stuck in a state of some kind of weird limbo.

”It was the girl who wanted to control all of my powers. I’m just making sure she doesn’t blow us all to smithereens with it is all. Not to mention that the two of us share the same passion. The fact that I’ve spend most of my days in Joya relaxing and being fed does not mean I am lazy at all times!”

All that said, it was quite amusing watching the wolf’s robust body resting atop the water’s surface, his head alone the size of regular human’s body. Even in such place, his abyssal fur flowed fluidly as if there was dancing wind playing with it, crimson red flames filled with dark hue flickering and swaying atop his frame all over. The feeling of his presence alone swallowing everything in eternal darkness did not go away even if he was but an imagine inside of the girl’s mind after all. Didn’t discourage the other spirits however, as another one rested atop a lonely tree root which managed to penetrate the ceiling of this cave, the rest of it growing way above them. A tiny harpy, an ant in comparison to the wolf, as she was also smaller than Undine down below her. With skin darkened just as Eris’ and blond hair unkempt, she grinned.

”Maybe your powers are not needed after all. I mean, the lassy is doing just fine without you. As Kaya said, she absolutely crushed everything that got into her way here. Is there anything that could even stand in her way right now?”

”How simple minded! You act as if you’re not even a guardian. Or perhaps your era was just far too peaceful? In any case, know that there is always someone or something stronger than you. You must be ready for absolutely anything and wield power greater than anyone’s if you ever want to stand on the top, victorious!”

”Maybe you’re right. But I gotta lean towards Iris there, I can’t even properly imagine what beast could be a match for me right now. I want a challenge but all we ran into was a breeze. Too boring! If I gain even more power, wouldn’t fighting become even more dull? I can’t have any fun if I hold back either, it sucks. Or maybe I could just try to find pleasure in completely obliterating anyone who stands in my way…?”

”Please, do not grow to be a crude savage my dear. A guardian has to possesses elegancy and gentle soul that knows mercy. You have to protect, not slaughter. Try to not forget the contract between all of us, the terms on which you are using all of our power.”

As the conversation grew, the final soul joined in as well. The only one who was physically larger than the Abyssal wolf was now squeezing in this cave as well, her stony body lying atop the water. A dragon. It was actually somewhat comical to be watching at this scene from the outside, not that anyone really could. Almost like a gathering of oddities, the ancient guardians truly were anything but your ordinary beings roaming the Earthland. Letting the water swallow her for a bit, the huntress submerged to escape the spiraling argument, though to no avail. It was at times like these she wished she would not have several voices literally sitting inside of her head and trying to scream over one another as they brought forward their own values and views of the world. Yes, she did promise to use their powers to protect those who reside in Joya just as guardian would, but she really wasn’t one, was she? She didn’t want to be, being stuck in one nation sounded awfully dull to her. Especially if it was her home that she already knew nearly perfectly. It also meant that she couldn’t have just gone and crushed the other tribes to bring her own fame, for that would not be really protecting anyone now, would it? Swimming back up to bring her head to the air again, she sighed.

”I haven’t forgotten nothing. But I want to have some damn fun too! How am I supposed to have fun if there is nothing that could challenge me at all?”

Her words echoed throughout the cave system as the souls looked at one another. And finally, Kaya would jump from the water to stand on it’s surface as well, striking a somewhat important pose as if she was about to announce something very important. One perk of having all these people inside of her head meant that they could notice more than she did. This allowed them to inform the girl of things that she would not necessarily know about her environment.

”Before you so diligently started tearing apart these woods, I noticed something in that small village we were in. A crumbled old flyer that had something about a fighting tournament in it. Seemed really out of place there, so I’m assuming another warrior was traversing those parts and accidentally dropped it. Secret tournaments are usually only held of the participants are either criminals or extremely powerful. Both should provide some entertainment in my opinion.”

Somehow, her last words were accompanied with a mischievous smirk and perhaps a thought of tearing some evil-doers into pieces. Then no one could complain about not protecting by massacring others. Was the elegant Undine actually that terrifying when it came down to it? The wolf only growled some more and turned his gaze to the side, possibly thinking about how much pain in the bottom that could be. Iris was rather indifferent, the birdbrain wasn’t really interested in all that much. And Aileen, the great earth dragon just sighed quietly. She was probably the only one who would be content with just sitting in Joya and watching out for possible threats. Truly a loving mother of that nation, one of the most adored ancient guardians and still having stories told about here among the young ones.Unfortunately, Eris was more about the fun part of possibly getting to fight someone strong.

”Alright, that’s settled then! Off to the tournament we go! Get back into my head you people, I need to find my clothes again!”

And just like that, the titanic figures that were all over the cave suddenly disappeared in a blink of an eye, leaving no trail whatsoever as if they never even were there in the first place. Made sense, really. They were in the girl’s head all this time after all, anyone watching from the outside would think she was completely crazy and talking to herself this whole time. Probably not the best of ideas to be doing this in the outside world where regular mortals walked then, not she was planning on that. Grateful for Orion’s ability, she pushed her body out of the water only to walk on it as if it was solid surface, mimicking the actions of the souls as well as she started wandering around the cave, looking for that one stone where she left her damned clothes. Oh, how she wished she could just leave them here and go outside in her birthday suit. It felt most comfortable and surely would please the male side of humanity, as well as maybe some of the female one too. But it would also get their guards and such to go after her, creating more unnecessary and boring problems that she would much rather avoid. After finally finding them and dressing appropriately, though still leaving majority of her skin exposed to the fresh air, she stretched one final time before leaving the cave. Though that journey was rather short-lived, her feet stopping in their tracks only few seconds later.

”Hey, where is this tournament anyway? It can’t possibly be in that village we were in before, right? There is no way we can fight in such cramped place! And you said that the flyer looked really out of the place there too!”

She would turn her head to the side as she spoke, as if there was another person next to her at whom these words were directed. But the replies she waited for came directly from within her very being, Kaya speaking from the mass of souls inside the huntress’ core.

”Of course not! I believe I saw something about ‘Sphere Island’, whatever that’s supposed to mean. If it’s an actual location, then I have to perform slow clap for the creativity of people that named the place.”

So that was their location then. Eris couldn’t say she knew the location, but a slight buzz inside of her head spoke otherwise. Almost as if a surpassed memory of some kind, or even something that came from much more primal place. A guidance that she did not quite acknowledge, something subconscious. Has she been to such island in the past but forgot? Well, it was certainly possible. Her memories were everything but properly organised these days, as all seemed to be in a haze of uncertainty, hidden from her direct remembrance. If she already once were to such place, perhaps it could help her in more ways than one then. Yes, she definitely had to attend this tournament, no matter of what nature it actually was. And so, the rather sloppy journey began as the huntress followed nothing but her gut feeling as to where her destination actually was. And in such situation, even the guardians inside of her head were not of much help, as all they really knew was Joya, the place they protected for most of their lives. Not that anyone could really blame them for something like that, there were beings that would not leave their home in a lifetime. Eris was different in that regard, driven by the desire of exploration and constant fight against boredom. As unfulfilling as it sounds, that was what her life boils down to. Doing the very best just to fight off boredom. In that sense, doing so was enough to live exciting life. But… it didn’t feel complete. As if there was something else to it all.

”Come to think of it, you’ve never told us what exactly your life has been like before you gathered all of us.I can’t imagine there was enough excitement for someone like you in Joya alone, yet it feels like this is one of the first times you left the Jungle. And what’s more, for some reason, we cannot access your earlier memories.”

The wolf’s rough voice rumbled through the girl’s being as she scratched her head, simply sprinting on the air in one direction as if it was something that she did on regular basis. While that ability was something quite new to the huntress, part of the souls inside of her, it felt strangely familiar. As if she was capable of doing so even before the whole guardian business. All of this was so strange, it made no sense at all! Well, at least she now had these powers to command, so that was nice. But what Visor said was true, as she herself had problems recalling any older memories.

”Even if I had problems with my head, the memories should still be recorded somewhere for you to see, right? Ugh, it feels like there is some weird force blocking me from remembering it all. Or maybe… like there’s nothing there at all, is more what it feels like. Ah, whatever! No point focusing on the past, I survived it and that’s what matters. Now my goal is to survive the present and have fun!”

That was a reasonable goal, right? She hardly weak, but unlike other powerful magicians out in the world, she had absolutely no noble goal in sight, nor was she scheming to take control over the world. She was in the middle, using her rather great strength to just do whatever she sees as fun. And not many could stop her in that. In a sense, that was perhaps quite a scary thought. But so far, the girl didn’t managed to cause any catastrophic events just yet. Yet being the key word in such sentence, seeing how the souls inside of her already knew her nature and thus could predict that she would be cause of a great chaos eventually. But going by her logic, they would all deal with it when that time comes. Leave tomorrow’s problems to tomorrow’s you, as it would. Thoughts like these were their own way of coping with priorly mentioned boredom as they slowly closed the distance between Eris and the Colosseum-like structure where the tournament was taking place.

”Think we’re gonna make it in time? Even if Er-chan runs on the air in straight line, it seems like we have still ways to go.”

”I wouldn’t worry too much. All of us focus on speed in one way or another. And the girl is using our traits, isn’t she? She’s probably faster than any vehicle that could get us there anyway.”

”Actually, our traits can be transferred into her body only in the state of complete or partial takeovers. Right now, her speed is her own. But inhabitants of Joya are naturally stronger and faster than regular humans, especially those who act as hunters and huntresses for the tribe. That said, do we even know when the tournament starts?”

Aileen brought about a pretty good point and all the souls suddenly fell completely quiet. Clearly, not one of them knew when the event would actually be taking place. Even Kaya who saw the flyer directly didn’t exactly grasp the precise letters and numbers that were already faded on the crumbled and wet piece of paper, buried in it’s muddy grave of village roads.

”Hey, Hey! If we arrive there only to discover that the thing already started and we can’t join or that it’s happening several days or longer from now, I’m gonna kick all your butts! Wasting time like that when I could be having fun elsewhere, that would be unacceptable…”

It looked like the ancient beings could only hope that this wouldn’t turn out bad now. Even if they were powerful spirits, they didn’t exactly have means of defending themselves against the girl that had control over them all in a sense. And it looked like they would find out soon enough, as the general shape of sphere island started to come into view. It was a ball alright… not very exciting from this viewpoint. But the arena was surely somewhere on there, they just had to find it and try to join. Hour or two later, the chosen huntress would finally rest her bare feet on the dry land of the isle, looking around in curious manner.

”Sure is big… I’m guessing you didn’t pick up where exactly on this island the tournament is? Ugh, it’s gonna take forever to find this thing! Starting to think this was not the brightest idea of them all.”

”Relax. The place might be big, but so should be the arena. No way we can miss a building that would tower above everything around it. Everyone just has to keep their eyes open, as long as you move swiftly, we’ll find it for sure.”

While Kaya definitely wasn’t the best at encouragement and reassuring, it was better than nothing. And so, they did as was told.. And surely enough, in few, they managed to spot their destination in the distance, rising over the treetops and mountain range. Without any further delays, the chosen huntress decided to hurry up and bold to the said destination, soon finding herself in front of a giant gate that would lead her inside. There was one problem, however. It was pretty clearly closed. The silence coming from within the girl only solidified how nervous some of the souls were. But there was at least some solace, as guards stood in front of it. That meant the place wasn’t abandoned, which should already be easily determined by the cheering coming from within. And so, filled with confidence, the dark-skinned female approached the gate, filled with anticipation.

”Open for me, would ya? I’m coming inside!”

But the guards only stepped in front of her and formed a cross with spears they were holding. Somewhat primitive looking for such a grand event.

”Apologies miss, but all the seats are already filled. No more spectators.”

”I ain’t no damn spectator, I’m a participant. Now, open up so I can go beat up some idiots senseless!”

Clearly surprised, the two guards looked at one another, perhaps unsure of how to react to such words. But in the end, they did not budge one bit. Instead, they tightened their grip on the weapons, as if to reinforce their point.

”The fighting already started and the brackets were closed. We’re not letting anyone new in. If you don’t understand that much, you’re probably not smart enough to participate anyway!”

Getting somewhat aggressive, the guards were clearly adamant about not letting her in. Something that the huntress wasn’t exactly all too thrilled about. And neither were the guardians inside of her. Now, any sane person would probably turn around and just leave in peace, letting this whole event be. But who ever said that Eris was on the more sane side? Instead, she started grinning in somewhat menacing manner, the sharp gaze in her eyes penetrating the two men with ease.

”Well, if I’m not to have any fun by participating, I might as well wreck this whole place and have some fun that way. Yeah, beating up all the participants with no rules to stop me might be even better!”

It went without saying that those words were rather alarming to the guards who quickly prepared themselves, now ready to forcefully throw the girl out of this place. It was unfortunate that they did not knew what was about to happen. One of them started a mad dash with his spear against her, only to watch her silhouette disappear, followed by a sharp pain in his side as her fist buried deep into his flesh, cracking at his inner organs. An attack of a great impact that forced him to stumble to a side, holding the place where he was struck with his free hand. In the meantime, the other one panicked as he watched all this happen to his buddy. But by some rather odd leap of logic, he figured out that attacking the girl was still a smart idea. It really wasn’t, his weapon being parried to the side the moment he pointed it’s sharp end towards her. And with even more force than before, she delivered a palm strike into his chest. One so forceful that it made an audible crashing noise, perhaps the movement of her hand alone creating a sonic boom and shattering the man’s ribs into pieces as his body flew back, crashing into the gate and taking it down with him. Smile rested on Eris’ expression as she was rather content with the warm-up. But before she was able to infiltrate the building, more guards showed up along with pretty important looking man. One that was dressed in a fancy suit, even wearing a monocle.

”W..what is going on over here?! Guests around the from door heard that and became distracted from the fighting! What…”

His words were silenced by a single look at the Joyan huntress in front of him, as well as the mess she managed to cause already.

”Oh, not much. Just me having some fun on my own, since your goons didn’t allow me to enter without violence~”

She would reply, a teasing note dancing on her tongue as she spoke. Unlike his soldiers, this one clearly recognized her power and swallowed audibly. Unsure of what to do, he closed his eyes for a moment and presumably shoved his plans and pride aside for a bit.

”You wish to enter? Very well. There is one very powerful contestant inside already. To be frank, I find his strength unfair, but I was unable to find any good way of getting rid of him. But… yes, you will work. Please, come on in. I hope you do not mind fighting in pairs?”

”As long as I can have some fun, I don’t care! Bring me straight to the battlefield.”

It wasn’t exactly how she planned it, but it’s not even all that much fun when things go your way, so who really cares. She got inside by showing her power to those that run this place, and it was enough. The fact that she would fight alongside another person was quite curious. Perhaps this would be even more interesting than the girl anticipated. And just like that, she was allowed to step into the arena, guiding by the intense cheering that could even make the ground below her bare feet  shake.
