    A Machine's Grace Empty A Machine's Grace

Post by Strawberry 16th April 2017, 1:24 pm

Responding to a distress call from the Beanstalk Village, former CRIME machine, the S-type Experimental Neutralizer ninth model was sent out to deal with whatever was causing the problem. So therefore he took a train to get to the village within a few hours, where he began his mission for the day. Although, there hadn't appeared to be anything wrong with the village, as there were no visible threats or anything that would be worthy of a distress call immediately off of the bat. So, the automaton that was SEN walked forward towards the massive beanstalk where he met with an old man, one whom looked like he was depressed.

"I am here in response to a distress-based job. Is there anything wrong?"

The old man turned around, only to appear baffled at the sight of the robot. He put his hand over his mouth, and muffled a cry of what seemed to be agony. Sen quickly got down on one knee and looked up at the man to see if anything was visibly harming him, which there wasn't. He didn't understand what the man was scared for.

"Our crops, sir.. They are no longer growing like normal. Instead, they are growing thorns and wilting away. I fear there has been a curse place on our village. What for,
I don't know. Our gods haven't responded to our prayers, but we are thankful that you have,
mister. But please, if you investigate any of our crops, please do not use any magic that will harm them."

"Understandable. I won't harm any of your plants. Please take me to them."

The old man nodded his head, and guided SEN to a field of what were obviously dying plants of various origin. Corn, tomatoes, broccoli, etc. All of these seemed dead, growing thorns, etc. They didn't look eatable, or, at the least, eatable to humans. Sen nodded his head to the old man.

"Thank you, sir. You have done all you can. Now please, just go back to your people, comfort them and tell them that someone is solving their problem."

With that, Sen treaded forward, taking the first few steps and scanning the field as a whole, looking for any possible source of this unknown wilting. However, as soon as he took his tenth step, a batch of tomatoes started shaking. Suddenly, a small white arm grabbed Sen's leg, and then enigmatic creatures made of tomatoes sprouted up from the ground. Sen punted one of them as far as he could, but that wasn't enough to take it out, instead the tomato demon just returned, and soon Sen was surrounded.

"Oh you fuckin' bitch I dare you to kick me again! I fuckin' dare ya! I bet you're just some bitch boy hiding behind a suit of metal armor because it helps him out,
huh! Look at us, we ain't fearing NOTHING! I dare ya! Take it off! Take off the suit, boy!"

Sen's expression didn't change, as he simply clenched his fists, preparing to take all of these strange creatures out. Dashing forward towards the one he previously punted, Sen jumped over it, and then while landing, elbowed it into another plant demon. One of the tomatoes began to laugh at the failure of the first, but that wasn't all Sen was planning to do. Three of the tomatoes rushed forward and jumped into the air in unison, which caused Sen to innately bring up his guard. However, what surprised him was the idiocy of the tomatoes, as they all collided with one another, sending them in different directions. That brought a thought to the robot's "mind." If he were able to use themselves as his weapon, he'd not have to exert much energy in combat.

Diving under a tomato demon that tried to "Scadooche" Sen, he allowed it to hit one of the tomato plant demons that were falling from the sky, and then Sen went forward to punch one of them in the body, releasing a blast of concussive energy that exploded the tomato into paste. Suddenly, one of the trash talking tomato demons made an idiotic desicion to actually tell Sen that he was going to not miss his attack, and then shot a blast of ketchup at the machine. Simple sidestepping, the ketchup blast went on to explode another tomato demon. The intelligence of these tomato demons was astounding - not because of how high it was, instead because of how low they were.

"Is that it? A bunch of trash-talking tomatoes that can't withstand the force of their own attacks?"

Another tomato shot a blast of ketchup, which once again was avoided due to the sheer fact of them not being able to shut their mouths long enough to catch Sen by surprise. Once again, the ketchup ray met with the tomato's colleagues, causing yet another one to explode. With 4 down without Sen even trying, he wondered how the villagers couldn't have handeled this problem alone. Regardless, he continued forward, and grabbed the tomato plant directly in front of him, and launched it into another, then bursted forward and leaped into the air, and coming down with a force to destroy them both with a heavy aerial stomp. Six down, the last four were spread out due to failed attempts at belly flopping the robot.

"What do you think you're doin'!? Just cuz we talk a little smack doesn't mean that we walk the walk! Come on, man!"

Sen narrowed his eyes, and then cocked his fist's gun, and then punched the tomato that spoke last in the chest, blasting it into bits. The last three were nowhere to be found, however he highly doubted they'd make any relavence any time later. So, the robot ventured forward, thinking to himself as he went into the broccoli patches.

Strange creatures made out of... plants? Demons? I don't understand, my database doesn't show any type of creatures like that existing on Fiore. This must be the work of a mage...

Sen then saw the unthinkable - ten giant broccoli demons, that sprung up from the ground. The robot let out what could be thought to be a sigh, but instead was just him mimicking the normal human reaction. Instead of backing down like a normal person, Sen figured that he'd rather get the nuisances out of the way first - and that he's handled worse enemies, like those of CRIME. So, he decided to take them out one at a time, as they weren't in any rush to fight him all at once like the tomatoes were prior. One of the broccoli demons went and tried to flatten Sen, however that didn't stop the robot one bit. Instead, he held his hand forward, stopping the whole force of the broccoli monster with one hand. It wasn't that hard, given his natural strength as an artificial being. Instead of what would have normally been a normal man's arm getting crushed, the broccoli demon simply looked baffled, and then raised its head again and tried the same attack, to no avail.

Sen lifted up the broccoli monster's head whole, and then slammed it onto the ground. While the others sat there laughing and taunting the broccoli demon for being beaten by, what they assumed to be a normal human. Perhaps they never had much contact with humans, as they obviously didn't know normal humans don't have black sclera metal arms. Regardless, Sen now started furiously punching the broccoli and caved its face in, leaving nothing more than a green goo on his fists. Sen then turned aside, looking at the other broccoli demons, whom sent another one forward to be destroyed by the robot. Didn't they realize they were just walking into impending doom? Either way, Sen punched the broccoli demon in the chest, releasing a concussive blast of kinetic energy that launched it back a few feet, then rushed forward with a barrage of 10 strikes to the midsection, then finished it off with a dropkick to the face. This was too easy, for some reason. These demons seemed weaker than what Sen would assume them to be, considering they were... well... demons!

Sen turned around, and then dodged another strike from the broccoli demon. These attacks were getting more and more predictable. The robot punched forward, and then performed a spinning kick which launched the broccoli demon into another one. This in turn angered them both to a point which they wanted to finally attack Sen in unison, the SMART decision. So, Sen lifted up one of the broccoli demons, only to be crushed by the other, launched directly into the ground. Thankfully, he didn't feel pain. Instead he just simply knew that he'd been injured, and it didn't do much compared to what SEN's been exposed to before. Therefore, the machine just got up and recovered from the ground, and then punched a hole into another broccoli demon's chest, and launched it a good fifteen feet backward. However, soon after the second broccoli demon launched SEN once again, slamming him with its body. The robot made a semi-sighing noise, and then looked at the demon with an uninterested expression.

"Alright... If that's how you'll want to play, then we'll play that way."

The robot got up, then superheated its body. The lines in his chest and arms glowed a bright orange, and he started giving off smoke. With a single titanic punch, he knocked the broccoli demon off its feet, and sent it into the third and final one. The demon that was once launched returned now, and tried to crush SEN once again. However, he turned and raised his hand forward, catching it and almost burning a hole in its face due to the heat given off by his hands. SEN jumped, and roundhouse kicked the plant demon, breaking it into bits. Finally, the last two tried to jump SEN from opposite directions, like the original two. Seeing this coming, Sen raised both of his hands, catching both demons, then suddenly dropped them and rolled forward. The demons collided with one another - one of them snapped its own neck, while the other seemed dazed. However, that wasn't all that SEN had up his sleeve, as the robot came as a blur from behind the giant piece of broccoli, slamming his hands into the back of the broccoli's head into the dirt - a piece of payback for what was done to him three times over.

About to continue on, Sen suddenly registered more damage to his body. Turning around, he saw the three remaining tomato demons gathered around him. Not only that, the remaining five broccoli demons surrounded him. Not only that, but five demons that looked like... was that frickin CORN? The robot was in for a treat, as he spun around, kicking the tomato demon in front of him into a corn demon, then rolled aside to avoid the broccoli slamming into him, which in turn crushed a different plant demon - one of the tomatoes. So, Sen jumped atop the broccoli demon that was on the ground, and repeatedly punched into it with his superheated fists, then quickly jumped off to avoid another wack-a-mole style broccoli slam. The corn demon fired a gattling gun style array of corn at Sen, which was somehow intercepted by a tomato demon... as though it wanted to spare Sen from the attack?

"Hey, douche! I saw him first! He's mine!"

The tomato demon could barely stand, let alone talk as much trash as it was. So, Sen left the tomato plant and the corn demon to fight one another, while he went on to handle the final tomato demon and its corn demon counterpart that it assaulted, curtsy of Sen himself. The robot slammed its fist into the weak soft spot on the tomato, and then punted the corn demon into the sky, only to do a hurricane blade kick similar to the Tatsumaki Sempukyaku from a certain fighting game. He dashed forward, much faster than the previous demons, easily outspeeding them while they attempted to chase. Sen just blocked a hit from the corn demon, whom tried to belly flop him, and then kicked it square in the chest through an entire tree. Sen then turned around, seeing his remaining enemies. Four broccoli demons and four corn demons. Nothing major, given how simple it was to defeat them thus far.

Sen decided to take out the easier of the two groups first, the corn demons. One demon stepped forward, deciding that the best course of action at this point would be to trash talk, Sen shut him up as fast as it started taunting with a punch to the face, followed by another, then finishing this mini-combo with a high rising kick, launching the piece of corn into the air. It tried to use its momentum to belly flop Sen, however the robot used his knee to kick the corn literally into pieces, then skidded along the ground, spinning and performing a sweeping kick to knock the others off their own feet. Picking up one, the machine punched it twice in the face, then slammed it onto the ground four times - being careful to avoid harming the actual wilting plants. The final two pieces of corn were easy, as one of them fired its corn cannon, which instead of hitting the robot drastically missed and hit the other piece of corn into Sen's grasp, where the robot punched it down to the ground, performing its shotgun-like blast and ripping a hole in it like it were nothing. Then, finding the corn demon wasn't finished off, he simply stomped on its face, squishing it and leaving a yellow mush on his feet. Finally a hit was once again registered by the robot, as suddenly he was forced to take a step back, feeling the might of what would normally knock a regular human off their feet, which was the corn cannon. Wiping off the remnants of the corn that was left on his blue hoodie, he stepped forward and forcefully kicked the corn demon in the face, with a Chuck Norris styled roundhouse kick, sending it spinning and hurling a few feet. The corn raised its hand in defense, but nothing it could do could save it from the wrath of the robot that stood before it. Sen stomped it, breaking its arms into two, then stomped it again, then again. The corn-foes were done after this.

Turning back to the broccoli foes, this fight would take a bit more energy out of the robot than the corn had. Deciding once again the most sound tactic to fighting the demonic veggies would be to take them one on one, he taunted them all, proccing them to go in solo.

"Five on one? You must not have any sense of pride. I bet I could solo all of you!"

One of the broccoli demons stepped forward, and raised its skinny white arms.

"Come on then, bitch boy! You think because you took out all of my comrades,
those stupid corn fellows, and those annoying-ass tomatoes that you can handle me!? Ha!
You must be a tomato cuz your brain had turned to paste!"

Sen stared at the demon for a minute, trying to process its blind stupidity.

If I defeated all of its allies... Wouldn't it prompt it to fighting in a group,
not solo? The amount of pride that this vegetable contains has driven it to stupidity..."

Regardless, the broccoli charged Sen, trying to rush it with as much speed as it had, which wasn't much. It tried once again to flatten the robot, much like its comrades before it. Sen raised an arm, using its superheated forearm to block the attack. He then kneed the broccoli demon with force, and then jumped onto its head, grabbing hold of it as though it were a dinosaur ride from a kid's amusement park. The machine chopped the broccoli demon's assumed throat area, however once it didn't go down in an immediate strike, Sen knew that his suspicions that these strange vegetable creatures didn't have skeletons like humans, as that chop would have easily broken its neck. Therefore, the broccoli demon slammed down once again in an attempt to get the robot off of its back, only to fail miserably. Instead, Sen continued to hold on, and force its hand downward, using the irony bomb as a weapon to his advantage. Sen slammed the broccoli's head into the ground, and then punched it into the ground further, following it up with a stomp. The broccoli demon had stopped moving, so Sen turned around to fight the next broccoli demon that decided to challenge it.

Kicking the broccoli in the face, Sen followed it up soon with a following kick, then a punch with as much focus as he could put into it, crumpling the opposing vegetable to the ground. He followed up with not a simple punch or kick, but instead scissor kicked the broccoli demon into the ground, and then quickly got up, flipping into a handstand. From the handstand, Sen flipped once again forward, using his massive weight and momentum to dropkick another broccoli demon, sending it flying. Sen landed on the ground, to once again spin kick and sweep the broccoli demon's feet, sending it off and onto the ground prone. Mounting it in a manor similar to that used in kickboxing, he bombarded the broccoli demon with punches, and the demon wasn't able to escape due to Sen's weight. However, just before he was about to finish pummling the vegetable, the weight of the previous broccoli suddenly crashed upon the robot, forcing his body to crush the broccoli demon beneath him, considering he weighed so much more than it. Sen got up, raising the broccoli above it with one hand, and then tossed it into the air, and then punted it with all his might, sending it so far that it only became a green spec on the horizon... never to be seen again.

Taking a few more steps forward, the demons stopped appearing. Instead, rather, the plants started rejuvinating - given life once more. The curse was being lifted! However, Sen soon heard the voice of an old man. The old man's voice spoke in incantations, strange symbolic words in a language that Sen couldn't recognize - and he was programmed to speak every language on the planet. Soon, a magic circle appeared below Sen, and his vision went haywire for a moment. The color of the world changed colors, binary code appearing on his optics, etc. What was happening, the machine couldn't tell, but it soon all stopped and was replaced with something much more sinister.

Sen suddenly heard the scream of someone dear to him - the woman he swore to protect. The robot's optics gazed upon the figure in the distance, a woman trapped between a group of plant demons, grasping at the last straws that was her life. It'd soon fade away, however, leaving the lifeless corpse that was Aioai D. Nightstray... or rather, what was a sour attempt at recreating the image of her. Sen almost fell for this trick, this illusion from the magician, but instead relied on logic and reason over impulse, something the woman in turn taught him herself. His body would physically react when being near her, dead or alive. His body, his blood, each cell that made him up had no such reaction, proving that this was no more than a trick.

"If you're going to perform an illusion, make it believable, not some rubbish cliche straight out of a movie that would only affect those without basic skills to reason."

The old man appeared from behind a tree, carrying a cane in his hand, with a surprised look on his face. Not only was he baffled that Sen managed to bypass his illusion, he was surprised how hard it was to even get the curse inflicted on him in the first place. Perhaps the old man didn't realize that Sen was a robot?

"Come with me, conscious or unconscious, old man. I assume you're the reason these plants have been afflicted with whatever curse they had on them?"

Sen threatened the man, raising his fists ready for any sort of brawl. He knew that this man was capable of summoning up more plant demons, and that he would be capable of inflicting more devastation to the crops. So, he was ready to fight if need be, however what was next shocked the robot.

"Fun's over, I guess. I wonder... why do you fight on the side of people you don't even know? You mages and your blind friendship... You're all so boring. But whatever, I surrender. I'd rather not fall to the likes of some man made of metal."

The man walked forward, not posing a fight. He also apparently knew when he was beat. Sen grabbed the man with his iron grip - his metal hands grasping onto the man's wrist like a vice. Sen walked with the old man until they reached back to the beanstalk village, where they began to talk with the previous elder from before.

"Sir, this is the man who devastated your crops. I have taken care of the threat, and I leave him for the village to decide his fate. Is that alright?"

"Yes, that is fine... Thank you, very much sir. I invite you to stay the night,
have a feast, take our money. All that pleases you will be allowed, sir. Trust me."

"Er, no thanks. I don't need any of that. I was here on an order.'

The old man placed a pouch into Sen's hands, which contained a sum of jewels. The man closed Sen's fist around the pouch, prompting the robot to hold it and put it at his side. Sen didn't know what he did to deserve such a reward, but he accepted it none the less, simply because the man insisted.

"You've saved us, money is the least of the things we worry about in this village. We don't go to big cities to spend jewels, we live a simple life here. You can keep this at the least, alright?"

"Er, alright sir. Thank you very much for your generous offer."

"No... Thank you sir, for dealing with the menace of our home."

So Sen accepted the jewels, placing the pouch in one of his pants pockets. He didn't count the jewels, deciding any amount of such a generous offer would be fine, not to mention that he didn't really feel he deserved the jewels. He was simply here on an order - go help Beanstalk village. If anything, the one administering the order should receive the jewels, not him. They would be the ones that offered the help, offered the likes of Sen to defeat the cause of the old sinister curse-flinging old man. However, he didn't want to be rude, so he just humbly took it without much question, and then thanked the old man.

The village elder met with some others about the old curse slinging man, and together they decided the best course of action would be the old-fashioned irony bomb of placing a magic-limiting curse on the man, and then to throw them into prison. That way, the old man would never be able to harm their crops again, and they'd be in jail serving out a sentence. Sen would have just personally thrown him in prison, however he could understand the purpose behind limiting his magic - and the added irony made it salt poured on the wound. So he took the old man with him, back to the train station that resided a couple miles off, where Sen could report the actions to the Rune Knights, and then afterward be able to leave and return home... Hopefully Aioai hadn't gotten into much trouble while he was gone. If she had, then he'd have a fit once he got there... He knew he shouldn't have left her alone to do this job.
