Walking through the forest was tough going. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that Ainsley had neglected to wear anything somewhat practical. It could have possibly been related to the fact that she was miserably lost. Or, it could be because of her obsessive tendency to stop and examine every single berry that she passed by. Either or any would hopefully work as the excuse the blonde would owe the client when she finally made it to the tiny clearing where he supposedly lived. She was, after all, sixteen minutes late on the dot.
Nonetheless, a bright beaming smile was spread wide across her face as the young woman swung her arms childishly, skipping through the undergrowth of the forest as best she could. Her nylons caught on twigs and ripped; the little holes would undoubtedly cause runs that would later result in stress for Ainsley. These were, after all, her only pair. She never planned ahead and washed them at two am every morning when she realized that they were needed the next day. Similarly, her blazer was streaked with dirt, the smears quite clear against the powder blue. Is that belladonna over there? she gasped silently as a small cluster of dark berries came into her sight. The distinctive flowers weren't to be seen, but the season could easily have been appropriate for them to be missing. Ainsley had been looking for nightshade for ages; although some versions were cultivated to be toxic, it could make an excellent dye and flavoring if prepared correctly. Rdere would help her if it really was the elusive plant: belladonna rarely was seen in these parts of Fiore!
The blonde excitedly tromped over to the plant and squatted down next to it. She knew better than to touch the stem and leaves, but the berries just looked so tantalizing. Even knowing that she would regret it, the young woman reached out to pluck the small bunch when her sleeve caught on something. Frowning, Ainsley turned to stick out her tongue childishly at the tree branch that her coat had apparently caught on. Well, fine then! she huffed after finally realizing that it couldn't come undone. I'll just leave my coat right here and come back for it later. Stupid forest. With plenty of sighs, Ainsley struggled out of her jacket and flopped to the ground as soon as she was loose. Her cheek was pressed against the soil for only a couple seconds before the blonde leaped up triumphantly. "Right then! Off to the house we go~"
It wasn't far away from where she had left her beloved blazer. When the young woman emerged from the tree line to see the quaint little residence with the cliff a little ways beyond, her eyes widened with awe. "So pretty!" she gasped.
Ainsley stiffened as a murmer of a voice reached her ears, and she hurried over in the direction of the cottage. Nobody was visible... maybe they were in front? She was at least, oh well, maybe twenty-five minutes late now. "Sumimasen! Forgive me! I got caught up with a little bit of trouble!" the girl called.
