Re: All (Tag) Backs Allowed !
Although it was one of the most famous cities of Fiore, Leah had barely spent any time in Magnolia Town. On account of this fact, which she supposed was a bit shameful considering that the redhead did indeed consider herself to be an official mage of the country, she had chosen to come out today. This excursion into the city would enable her to see the city, how it was doing, and also what kind of people lived there. She wasn’t really one to judge them, but it would be nice to figure out whether just because the notorious Fairy Tail had gone dark the rest of the people had lost morals too. Of course, all of that stuff about the orange-loving guild and how they were now evil was possibly complete baloney, but who knew? Leah certainly didn’t.
She stepped off the train station with a grimace on her face; motion sickness had always been a problem for the mage, although she doubted it was to the extent that slayers got it. One of the guild masters of Golden Phoenix, Astrid, was a white dragon slayer. The emerald eyed girl remembered acutely how uncomfortable she had
seemed during the guild quest upon first stepping off of the ship. In this case, the mage was quite sure that her stomach’s gymnastics routine was not nearly as horrible as the pale haired girl’s had been, but it was bad enough this way. Clutching her stomach and wobbling slightly as she tried to walk in a straight line out of the station, Leah wondered just what she was actually going to do here in Magnolia Town. It wasn’t as though she had a formal job request or anything. She supposed that it would be a good start to wander around and see if anyone seemed to require her assistance, and so the girl did.
First she noticed that there was a truck that seemed to be running dangerously low on either magical power or gas (whichever was the source it operated from), as it was rumbling down the street in a precarious fashion similar to the girl’s own stride of a half-drunken one. Perhaps she would come back later and check to see if she could lend the delivery man any help, but for now the redhead kept walking. Soon she came to East Garden; here, children were tackling each other into the grass and running around playfully. A few dozed in the sun or sat in the shade, too. As she watched them and smiled faintly, a few paused in their games and ran over to where she stood at the edge of the entrance.
“Missy!” a blonde girl with violet eyes tugged at the girl’s hair, which was an odd way to greet somebody. Admittedly, Leah didn’t really mind, but it was still strange. “Play Tag with us! May and Julie quit to go get ice cream with Johnny, and they won’t be back forever. We need more players! Pleeease?”
Leah blinked uncertainly, but she eventually bestowed her best impression of an affirmative grin upon the kid and replied that she would love to. The game was rough in her opinion, as all the children seemed to be aiming to tag her as it whenever they could. Therefore, the mage spent most of her time trying to catch one of them despite the fact that there was no ‘no tagbacks’ rule, which made the task quite difficult. Eventually, she announced to the group with a tired but cheerful smile that she had to go take a rest now, since she was ‘getting old.’ They seemed familiar with this excuse and let her leave with only the slightest protests. Thankfully, the two girls who had quit the game to buy an afternoon snack were back by then, or else she might have met with more resistance.
