Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious] Empty Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious]

Post by Mark Baxter 23rd December 2016, 5:12 pm

    Job Description:

There were rumors. Rumors of an ancient amulet that granted the wearer the blessing of the moonlight. No one really knew what it did or if it even existed, but if this rumored 'Amulet of the Moon' did exist, then it was sure to be 'hella valuable' as Mark had been told by several of the guildmates. And so, here he was, standing at the edge of the so-called Haunted Village, searching for an amulet that likely did not even exist. This was far from a phenomenal idea.

Mark's white cloak ruffled as he stepped forwards, and the golden chains the held it shut clicked ever so slightly. He also wore his trusty steel padded gloves and boot, along with a black t-shirt with the sleeves cut off, and cargo pants of the same color. The final piece of his outfit was comprised of the Archiving Lenses, magical contacts that gave him what could be called God's Eye vision--though he refrained from turning it on as it could be rather disorienting.

Mark took a couple more steps into the village before realizing he had absolutely no idea what he was looking for--randomly asking people would be suspicious, and yet roaming around aimlessly would take him nowhere, what to do? As he stood there in a daze, the sun began to recede, slowly but noticeably. And that was when he remembered the job request he'd seen a couple of days ago. Werewolves.Lycans. Oh fantastic, he was going to get mauled to death and it was all because of the goddamn pirates. Though he would normally have gotten the hell out of there because werewolves, he'd be mauled to death by pirates if he didn't find the amulet, and at least the werewolves wouldn't be drunk while doing the same thing.

Mark grumbled to himself and began to walk again, and eventually he encountered a few houses, he was quickly approaching whatever 'downtown' this ghost town had to offer, and that had to be the best place to start, maybe he'd luck out and find a shop or two. His boots clicked against the cobblestone sidewalk as Mark began to see signs of life, children playing here and there, teenagers making out in bushes here and there, it truly was like a normal town, just smaller and more lycan-y. Mark could see a central plaza only a couple blocks from where he was, he'd arrive there soon.

Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious] Empty Re: Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious]

Post by Noheme 23rd December 2016, 5:35 pm

The night was slowly approaching as Leila sailed over the calm waters near Phoenix mountains on the lonely looking boat. Even thought the sun was quickly approaching the horizont and would be soon hidden behind the mountains, she had no need for a lantern or even a torch. Everything should remain perfectly visible, thanks only to the giant moon which would decorate the starry sky once the night fully takes over. Or at least that was what Leila was told by others anyway. That the fullness of the moon would be something very unusual, even in magical world like this one, for something like this happens only every fifty years. That fact made Leila a little bit sad that she's unable to spend it in happier manner, attending a festival for example. Of course, this phenomenon was not causing only happiness, but something evil as well. And the magic council requested help because of that, sending the instructions into many guilds that were present in the land of Fiore. Right now, the girl was heading into the haunted village where she already finished one task for the said council. Though she didn't remember that at all. It was bizarre how much trouble this place could sink into, considering that she had to hunt down a murderer there in the past. And while she could not remember a thing, there was a very strange feeling, forcing it's way into the front of her mind, as if it was trying to scratch it's way out of her skull. With a sigh, she gripped the paddle a little bit tighter, continuing to move the piece of floating wood that her vehicle was forward. In all honesty, she expected a little bit more trouble on the sea between the dry lands, but the only thing that was interrupting her were the golden rays of beautiful sunset. Hardy something that you could be mad at.

It took a little bit of time and effort to finally get to the sandy beach of the island, but she made it in one piece. So that was first part of the job done pretty efficiently. Now only if that could carry on throughout the rest of this endeavor. She was told that nearly everyone in the village would transform into werewolf the moment the magnificent moon would shine down upon the village. And she was supposed to stop those creatures from harming one another, and the civilians. It didn't exactly sound easy, given the fact that she had no one with her that could help her, no reinforcements at all. But nothing that could be done about that. After all, she wasn't part of any of the guilds around. And recruiting someone wasn't all that appealing either, a lot of shady characters that you could run into that way. Another big sigh forced it's way between the girl's lips as she approached the village and looked over it. At least they weren't transformed yet, the moon still wasn't fully visible. Trying to focus on her task a little bit more, however, Leila quickly noticed something that was just a little bit out of place. A magical energy that was high enough that it could belong to a mage. Unless one of the villagers was generating this energy, it could mean a little temporary partnership, hopefully. Without any delays, she quickly started moving between the houses, not caring one bit for what the residence would thing about a rather odd girl with tail, horns and animal ears wearing an odd, tight attire. The feeling against cold cobblestones felt strangely satisfying as her nearly bare feet finally stopped right behind the person that was generating the magical energy. A man, or perhaps even just a boy. But he definitely was a mage.

    "H..hello there?"

Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious] Empty Re: Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious]

Post by Mark Baxter 28th December 2016, 6:22 pm

Mark spun around as someone spoke to him, instinctively removing the copper headband that had been hidden by his hair. It transmogrified into a copper katana, which Mark expertly wielded with both hands. The person confronting him, though very strange looking (dragon tail, fox ears, and a horn), didn't seem like they could be much older than eighteen, she didn't seem to be very threatening either, so Mark touched the tip of the katana to the ground behind him, leaning against its handle. "Who might you be?" He asked, sensing the person's magical power, meaning they were a mage. Extrapolating from the person's not threatening appearance, Mark said, "You must be here for that job the council ordered, right? That's what I'm here for." It was a lie, of course, he was here for the Amulet, but if he wanted to not die, he could use this person's help.

Mark turned back around, the katana dragging behind him. "I'm gonna go to the center of town, follow me if you're up for teaming up together. If not, I'm sure we'll meet again some day." Mark looked at the sun, which was still inching downwards--the villagers time was limited. Mark supposed that now that he was pretending to do this job, he would have to deal with the villagers before finding this amulet. Maybe he'd find some other loot along the way? Hopefully, there would be something to make this whole ordeal be worth his time. Mark quickly reached the center of the village, it was as small as he'd expected, and there were some villagers roaming around. Mark walked up to one of them and asked "Excuse me? Do you live here?" The villager nodded. "Perfect. We're here to deal with your... problem." He said, gesturing to the girl he presumed was behind him. The villager's eyes filled with fear, and he ran away, apparently refusing to acknowledge Mark's comment. He a tsking noise, "Why must these ignoramuses ignore their problems?" He shook his head, looking for another villager who would acknowledge the problem, perhaps give Mark some useful information. But alas, all of them just ran away, refusing to acknowledge a thing. Mark tsked once again, "How irritating. How am I supposed to deal with this problem if all of these idiots ignore its existence." He let out an exasperated sigh, this was hopeless.

Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious] Empty Re: Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious]

Post by Noheme 31st December 2016, 4:31 pm

It was wise to be always on you toes, careful of everything and doubting all. That way, chances of your survival should be increased by rather large amount. So it was really no surprise when the other mage reacted... perhaps a bit harshly, as some would surely say. It forced Leila herself back a little, one of her legs moving in a motion that indicated that she wanted to take a step back. But she did not, as the boy stopped as well, clearly seeing that this girl was no thread to his life at all. But it was a neat trick indeed, magical weapon that was capable of taking a form like that. It was easy to hide it, to not let it bother him on his travels. Leila's rapier that was currently attached to a leather piece on her left hip did not posses any fancy power like that. It was simply what it was, a rapier made out of blue Rose.

"My name is Leila Vergious, a travelling mage with no affiliation. But indeed, I've come to ensure that all villagers survive the night and that the damage done to the village itself is kept to the minimum. I'm glad to see that someone else had the kindness of heart to come and help these poor souls as well, truly!"

There was a big smile splattered across the girl's face as she heard those words, her tail waggling behind her happily. Though, deep inside, she knew that there was something up. Her senses, they were way superior to those of humans. And at this distance, she was perfectly capable of hearing the boy's heartbeat. And as he uttered those words, his heart sped up every so slightly. No matter how good of a liar he was, mortal body could simply not lie. Although the sound she was hearing was a bit off... almost mechanical. But she paid that little mind, as it was very possible for anyone to have something mechanical attached to their heart, as it could cure certain diseases and such.

He also seemed... well, he was very forward about things. He didn't even bother disclosing his name, not that Leila really needed to know. And since he was so fast on moving forth, she didn't even have the chance to ask him. So instead, with a sigh, she just followed him to the center of the village where she stood few meters behind him, observing all the actions he took. And with every villager that ran off, her grin grew a little bit bigger, as she saw the irritated expression he started making. He reminded her quite a bit of mercenaries that would try to do these jobs, but failed horribly. And who knows, maybe he was someone like that. Leila on the other hand wasn't really interested in the rewards all that much. Sure, jewels and all that were nice, as they kept her fed and clothed in elegant and warm outfits. But more than that, she just felt compelled to help others for no real reason at all. As if there was some mysterious force dragging her hand forward, telling her to not abandon these people in their time of peril. And, well, the dragon girl wasn't really opposed to it. Helping others felt... nice. It gave her a feeling of satisfaction, a purpose and the knowledge that she really did save and possible change someone's life. Today would hopefully be no different from that.

"It's only natural. A terrible curse like this, they never asked for anything of the kind. They merely want to live normal lives, and that is it. But as I see it, there is no need to gather any information. The moment the full moon shines, they will transform. And then, our job will be to stop them all before they harm themselves, or others. I hope you're prepared, because it will happen soon."

And indeed, it only took minutes before the skies would grow darker, people quickly hiding in their homes and barricading themselves in. It would be a long night for sure. But there was still a little bit before it would approach, so the girl moved to a nearby house and leaned against the wall. Though that didn't last for very long, as she slowly started sliding down, her back gently grinding against the cold stone bricks, her butt eventually hitting the ground soundlessly, only the magical rapier making a clanging sound. And with a smile, the girl produce a small orb that generated warm light from her leather pouch. It's light would quickly illuminate portion of the village's center, giving it a lovely and inviting red-ish tint in the slowly creeping dimness. If they weren't in a village, one could probably mistake it for a burning flame in the middle of a dark forest. And of course, Leila would pass along an invitation to her new partner. "It's no campfire, but it's still warm. So feel free to join me if you wish, we still have some time before the moon becomes fully visible."

Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious] Empty Re: Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious]

Post by Mark Baxter 2nd January 2017, 4:36 pm

His companion noted that these people probably didn't want to recognize that they were victim of a curse, and pointed out that there really was no need to gather information, their job was only to keep these people from hurting anyone when they transformed. That was a fair point, and it wouldn't be long. The sky was slowly dimming as people barricaded themselves in their houses hiding from their problems. It wouldn't work. Fucking werewolves would make quick work of wood. Mark's companion produced a red orb from a leather bag as she slid to the ground, inviting Mark to join her as they waited for the moon. Not seeing a reason why not, Mark slid to the ground beside the girl as his katana shifted back into a bracelet. He stared at the orb, curious, he had never seen anything quite like it. "By the way," he started, realizing that manners were probably important in a situation like this, "The name's Mark. It escaped me to tell you earlier, apologies about that. You said you're... Leila, correct?" He asked. He was just too curious about the girl's appearance to hold it back, and so, he blurted, "Okay, I'm really sorry, I know this is rude, but what's up with the tail and horns and all that? Does it have something to do with the magic you use? It's certainly not the norm anywhere I've been before... I'm just too curious not to ask."

Mark practically punched himself. He'd never been the most socially fluent, but this was a new level for him. "Crap, I'm so sorry..." he quickly added, "I'm not really the most social person... If I want to know something, I just kind of ask. I'm terribly sorry." He shook his head, he really needed to work on his whole social situation. The ticked by must faster than Mark would have liked, and soon, the moon was shining right in the middle of the sky. "Uh oh..." Mark said, and behind the wall their backs leaned against, he heard a horrible screaming, and a ripping of clothing. He jumped up as fast as he could and ripped the braclet off of his wrist, whereupon it once again shifted in a bronze katana. "Get ready..." He told Leila nervously, walking slowly towards the door of the door where he'd heard the noise. All around the pair, similar screams came from different houses... It seemed like the time had come for them to keep these lycans from hurting themselves or others. Mark just hoped he wouldn't be dying today. If he did, he would haunt Anastasia and the rest of Black Sails in the afterlife, that was for sure. He sighed, "How in the hell did I get myself into this?" He muttered, raising up his katana and taking a battle stance. "Here goes nothing..."

Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious] Empty Re: Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious]

Post by Noheme 2nd January 2017, 4:55 pm

It took a little moment, but the boy decided that it would be better if he joined the girl in the end. And that did put a lovely smile onto her face, her tail trying it's best to waggle, although it had a pretty hard time with Leila sitting against the wall. It was nice knowing that her newly acquired partner wasn't as distant as he appeared at first sight. Honestly, from his introduction, she honestly thought that he might be just some heartless thug that was in this only for the reward and nothing more, not even caring what would happen to the villagers. But with a reaction like this, perhaps things really weren't as dire as that, or so the girl at least hoped.

As he sat down next to her, she moved her hand with the peculiar device so there would be just about equal distance between them and the orb, letting go. But instead of falling down, the contraption simply remained floating in the air, continuing to radiate warmth and pleasant light that penetrated the darkness. He even properly introduced himself, sparing Leila from referring to him just as 'boy' or 'partner'. Now it was Mark, a lovely name with a nice ring to it. And along with the name came a curious question, one that the girl wasn't really sure how to answer. She herself had no idea why she was born with this extra additions and there was simply no one around to explain it all to her either. Though there actually was a coincidental connection to her magic with it all, perhaps it was all fate then.

"Yes, Leila Vergious. Hehe, I'm quite glad. At first, I thought you would not utter another word to me until the end of this assignment, but I guess you're just a normal mage after all, my apologies for the harsh judgement I made. You needn't worry about asking in the slightest, it is only natural to ask about things that pique your curiosity, something that is unknown to your mind. But... well, I am afraid I cannot provide a proper answer unfortunately. These appendages are something that I was simply born with. You could see a connection of this appearance to my magic, but I've only learned my magic after I was born and looked like this, so they're really not connected. I'm sorry that I have to provide such a disappoint answer..."

The girl smiled weakly at the end as she scratched the back of her head, looking at the floating orb one more time. The mood that it was providing up until this point was swiftly shattered by the screams of villagers that started transforming against their will, clearly not very fond of what was happening to their bodies right this moment. Mark wasn't wasting any time either, getting up and ready for combat with his weapon. Leila too jumped up, grabbing the orb and tossing it up into the air. "This will burn out the lacrima inside, but... heh, it would be bad to fight in dark, would it not?" Clapping her hands together, the device started levitating once more, high above the village where it could not be reached by anyone who wasn't capable of flight or high jumps. And in the next moment, it started shining even brighter than before, creating light that quickly covered the battlefield.

Leila herself had no problem with actually fighting in complete darkness thanks to her enhanced senses, but she wanted to help her partner out as much as she could. And honestly, that thing was too hard to made either. It was merely a device with lacrima inside of it, working as a portable source of light and warmth for the cold days and evenings. And now that the fighting would finally start, the girl produced two different keys from the same leather bag that she had kept the light orb in before. One of them was beautiful and golden, almost glowing in the dimness of the night. The other one was quite the opposite, seemingly made out of gray wood and not showing anything pretty at all. But no matter their look, both keys contained powerful spirits that would soon aid both of them.

"Gate of Heavenly Scales, open! Gate of Frozen Dragon, open!"
    Heavenly Scales:
    Frozen Dragon:

The two spirits appeared out of their respective gates, both preparing for incoming enemies. But mainly, they took a step right in front of their summoner in a protective manner, clearly showing that they would not let anyone lay even a single finger on the dragon girl. No matter how many werewolves would come their way, these two girls will fight with all their might in order to end this battle as swiftly and efficiently as possible.

Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious] Empty Re: Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious]

Post by Mark Baxter 4th January 2017, 1:43 pm

Leila did not know a thing about her... Peculiar appendages. Apparently, she'd just been born with them and didn't know why it was that she'd acquired them. While that disappointed Mark, who'd really wanted to know why she had those peculiar body parts, he decided not to prod anymore, it occurred to him that she might be sensitive about the topic. She also apparently thought that he was some sort of crazy goon who did not care about people, just about the money from the job. He laughed, "I may be a bit... Unorthodox, to say the least, but I am by no means heartless, I assure you." He answered, smiling. He really had to work on his social skills, Leila was not the first person to take him as some sort of heartless goon who cared about nothing more than money. Then again, that wasn't such a bad thing... He was a pirate, after all.

Leila threw her lacrima into the air to provide them with a source of light during the fighting, and then produced two keys... Celestial Spirit keys, Mark presumed. His presumption proved correct, both keys producing Celestial Spirits, one called by Leila as the 'Heavenly Scales' and the other as the 'Frozen Dragon'. Mark nodded, he had never seen a Celestial Spirit in action before, and he was looking forward to it. "Now it's my turn!" Mark chirped, raising his katana in the air. "Let's go, full-body Takeover--Zeus' Gate!!!" The sword crackled with black lightning and clouds gathered in the night sky, crackling with the same black lightning as Mark's blade. "Nunc consectetur affectum! Dominus tonitrua, Iuppiter!" The sky thundered and Mark's sword continued crackling. Mark raised up his other hand and grabbed the katana with it. The lightning in the sky crackled with even more intensity, whereupon a single bolt shot down from the sky, striking Mark's katana exactly.

Mark was enveloped in energy for a brief few seconds, and once it faded, pitch black markings could be seen all over Mark's body, easily recognizable as scorch marks from the lightning bolt that had just struck Mark. From the black marks to his yard-long black hair to the black robes that seemed to replace his clothing, Mark was practically unrecognizable after casting his Takeover spell. "Whew... That's never gonna get old, I swear." He said with a smile, his body slowing rising a few feet above the air. Mark exhaled, "I'm not yet done, either." He grinned. Lowering himself back down to the ground, Mark exhaled once again.

"Shielding Spirits, aid us in our conquests!" He yelled, and once again, black lightning gathered in the skies. Mark stood up slowly and raised his katana to the skies once again, "Let's do this!" Black lightning ran through Mark's katana once again the black scorch marks on his skin amplifying the effectiveness of his spell. Black energy exploded from Mark's body, rising up into the skies and piercing the clouds. "Aid us, Shielding Spirits!" He intensity of the totem of electricity amplified, the black light somehow becoming brighter (who knew such a thing was even possible?). Mark sidestepped out of the totem, ending up right beside Leila and her Celestial Spirits. A ghost of black lightning exitted the totem, floating in front of Mark, Leila, and the Celestial Spirits. "Uhm, this is a Shielding Spirit." Mark explained, gesturing towards the ghost, "It'll just kind of follow us around, absorbing damage for a while, and some others will show up every once in a while, so don't freak out." He explained, get ready for the werewolves to attack them.

Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious] Empty Re: Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious]

Post by Noheme 5th January 2017, 5:42 am

It was quite apparent that Mark was somewhat disappointed just from observing his facial expression for mere seconds. It appeared that ridding yourself of emotions was rather difficult no matter who or what you were, your innermost thoughts and desires would always find their way up the surface, letting the outside world know of what you are thinking deep down. But Leila did not comment on it a single word, as he was well within his right to look that way. Her appearance was nothing short of unusual, even for this world where Joya was filled with people that possessed cat-like features. She was simply a whole league above that, which showed every time she walked into a city or village and all would look at her with various emotions in those piercing gazes.

But she didn't take that in a wrong way at all, she was fine with it. She was simply different and that fact could not really be changed. One could not blame one for the way they were born or created after all. So she decided to instead make the best of it, wear these unusual appendages as a badge of something great yet to come. And with the type of magic she wielded, things would surely calm down one day, people starting to understand. It was quite convenient that she was able to learn magic associated with dragons while looking like this and she certainly would thank her past self for allowing that by bringing Rosaria into the Gardens of Eden, her very own dimension. And who knows, perhaps she would even call the mighty Rose dragon into battle if things were to get difficult in this village.

Werewolves didn't seem like much of a fun after all. And Mark too, was getting prepared for them. In rather interesting manner too, one way more flashy than the one that Leila presented to him. While she managed to create a golden gate that brought a powerful spirit into this world, he was capable of commanding the entirety of skies, or at least it appeared that way. Only shame now was that the beautiful full moon was no longer visible because of all these clouds. This was power of the take-over magic that the girl heard many things about. So far it was actually living up to all the praise that she had heard, though this little presentation made her slightly worried. The lightning did struck Mark after all, even creating marks on his body that appeared to be... somewhat painful? Sure, there was a good chance that they were actually only cosmetic or serving some different purpose other than hurting the boy, but she was still worried. There were many types of magic that took user's life as exchange for power after all.

"Are you... alright? All this looks rather painful and if it is, I should be able to heal you or at least relief the pain if need be. I should have mentioned prior to this that my magic is mainly supportive one, so don't hesitate to call for help."

"Yes, it would be quite inconvenient if you were to sacrifice yourself this early into the story only because you wanted to impress all the girl present. Fufu, man these days are willing to do just about anything for a little bit of recognition, aren't they? The poor, poor things..."

Libra no longer desired to just stand around idly while the battlefield slowly became more and more dangerous. And if only Leila remembered this dark skinned female's behavior in the past, this would probably be quite a shock. Libra used to be one of the most silent spirits in the entirety of spirit world, but along with her master, she changed as well. And now she was way more talkative and teasing. The same went for Yuki, who once was Leila's guardian and not only spirit that needed summoning to be present in the world.

"You're talking far too much. The enemy is here."

And just as the young girl of ice said, werewolves started bursting down the doors, quickly gathering around the group of people. Just with a quick counting, Leila managed to find at least twenty of these beasts surrounding them in a flash. This was quite the pickle indeed, as they didn't want to wait too long either and started charging. Though, they were all quickly sent back several meters as Libra took her sheath with the sword still in it and spun around, creating a gravity whirlwind around them that served as a temporary shield, knocking all the opponents back for now. And her master would take actions as well.

"Hear my voice, the Rose Dragon's roar!" A shout that suddenly filled all present with a proper fighting spirit, including the summoned guardian spirit if it was capable of accepting this kind of boon.

Leila and her spirits seemed to be quarreling about Mark's 'self-sacrifice' just to impress all of the girls present. He supposed it was on him for casting a spell that made it seem like he'd just charred his own flesh using a lightning bolt, but still, it wasn't like he was in any visible pain, he wouldn't have worried about himself had he been in their position. "I'm fine." Mark said with a dismissive wave of his hand, "Trust me when I say that this is not nearly as harmful to me as it may seem to be, I'm quite alright." As if on queue, when Mark stopped talking, the black totem of lightning shook visibly, and something that looked strangely like a ghost appeared from the totem, joining the other one is front of Mark and his companions.

One of the other spirits then chimed in as well, saying that they were talking too much. Mark nodded, agreeing, and poised his sword in front of him, as though he was holding a shish kebab. Leila used some sort of slayer attack, and Mark felt his body pumped up with strength, as though Leila's spell had strengthened him significantly. "Let's get down and dirty, shall we?" Mark said, his katana shifting into a band that wrapped around Mark's head, which he tucked into place, covering it up with his hair. Mark's hands began to crackle with black lightning, forming gauntlets out of electricity for his hands. Libra forced back the werewolves as they exploded from the doors, and Mark stepped forward at top speed, creating a crater in the ground where he had once stood. In a crackling black blur, Mark had sent two of the werewolves flying into the air. The damage he had caused was nowhere near lethal, but it would leave a mark (haha I'm so punny), no doubt. Within the mob of more than twenty werewolves, one stood out. At least twice the size of the others, this werewolf had striking white fur and fangs and claws that reminded Mark of little swords. Something told me that that werewolf was to be defeated, and if that was done, it would somehow deal with the others. Mark clapped his hands together and a rope of black lightning appeared in his hands. In another flash of startling speed, Mark had wrapped the rope around the Werewolf Omega, keeping it from moving but not doing any real damage.

Unfortunately, the other werewolves noticed this, and Mark was soon surrounded by a mob of werewolves. "Shit." He said, his voice monotone, but clearly worried. "Erm, Leila, we may have a problem here..." Mark said as a werewolf leaped towards him, but was luckily intercepted by a black blur--a Shielding Spirit. The werewolves began to pace towards him slowly, as though they were trying to menace him. The black lightning on Mark's hands crept throughout his whole body, and as he stayed firmly in place, binding the Werewolf Omega, the pulse of lightning exploded from his body, causing the fur on the werewolves body to stand on end, they were clearly hurt, but not enough to keep from advancing towards Mark.

Post by Noheme 6th February 2017, 9:52 am

It definitely looked like they were in for a treat. The sheer number of enemies was overwhelming for the two mages, despite the fact that they were both pretty skilled. And at least Mark reassured her that his apparent injuries were in fact nothing more than just effect of his magic, a visual one to that. Something she did not have to care about in the slightest. But now they would have to care about the fight in front of them and so the dragon girl prepared herself, and so did the two spirits in front of her. Mark acted quickly and managed to bound the one that looked far stronger than the rest, but he underestimated the werewolf's power. Even his rope of black lightning wasn't quite enough to keep the beast at bay, as it tear through it as it let out a terrific scream that sounded through the entire village. But instead of seeking revenge on the boy, the beast decided that it wanted to taste flesh of a certain dragon girl and headed straight for her. Her guardians tried to defend her, but the werewolf was much faster and got past their defenses, it's claw headed straight for her. The girl herself managed to block the strike with both her hands just in time, but she was still send flying into a nearby wall, breaking it apart and disappearing in the debris. The spirits would quickly follow after her to make sure that she was fine, only for more sounds of battle to echo from that place, signifying that the girl was flung into another group of enemies that she had to deal with on her own now.

That would leave the young boy alone against a good amount of these beast, including the white one. But it was his lucky day, as not too far from here, a certain someone dashed through the wilderness of this island. And with her incredible speed, she would soon jump over the roofs and land on the cobblestone paving behind the werewolf that were staring the boy down. She didn't say a word and moved in, grabbing one from the behind and suplexing him into the ground, breaking the stone apart with the beast's head as if it was nothing at all. That certainly grabbed the attention of others as the now revealed moon goddess smirked. "Now this is a party I want to be a part of! Step aside if you don't want to disappear from the face of Earthland, boy!" Her words were clearly directed at Mark, though it looked as if the werewolves were the ones to respond by starting to run towards her, the Omega one in the lead. But at that point, the girl was already taking air into her lungs and ready to release it. "Venom God's below!" A vortex of purple and black that quickly tore through the enemy lines, sending the poor beasts flying. Especially the one in front, it's white fur now colored lavender as the poison started soaking into it, it's helpless body flying through the air and right next to Mark, only to crash into the building behind them. Only few enemies remained after that show as Noheme gestured for them to come at her with a clear confident smile on her face.

Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious] Empty Re: Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious]

Post by Mark Baxter 28th February 2017, 9:21 pm

Everything happened in just a split second. Mark's black rope snapped, sending him stumbling to the floor. "Shit." He seethed, getting back up as quickly as he could. The Omega werewolf and its companions dashed towards Leila, sending her hurling into a wall. Before he could even check to see if she was okay, Mark was posed with a problem of his own--the Omega werewolf had decided to have Mark as a snack. His left arm crackled as a black gauntlet covered it from the tip of his middle finger all the way to his shoulder. Thankfully, Mark wouldn't have to deal with all of these infernal werewolves himself. A woman blitzed towards Mark at unsettling speed, telling him to get out of the way, and he quickly obliged, jumping to the side right as the woman took in a breath and a venomous swirl exploded from her mouth, quickly dealing with a great portion of the werewolves, including the Omega werewolf, whose fur quickly turned a deep purple as the poison seeped through its body. "Well, I'll be damned..." Mark muttered, not wasting a single second as he landed an uppercut on the nearest werewolf. The werewolf was sent a good meter into the air, and Mark didn't waste a second, smashing his foot into the werewolf with a roundhouse kick. It was sent hurtling into a wall, crumbling yet another building. Mark heard a whimper as the werewolf fell unconscious.

He turned to the woman, "So... Who are you?" He asked, nodding at her response. "Well, let's fuck shit up, I guess." He said with a grin. As he said this, the Omega werewolf stumbled towards Mark, swiping its claws around randomly and growling. "Poor 'lil guy." Mark said with a goofy grin, leaning out of the way of each swipe. He twisted his body, smashing the sickened Omega with the heel of his foot. It stumbled to the ground, brutally injured, but not quite dead. "Aww... You okay there buddy?" Mark asked, sensing a werewolf behind him and raising his fist in a matter that he hit the approaching werewolf's snout. It whimpered, stumbling back just enough to allow Mark an opening to twist in the werewolf's direction, punching it with his gauntlet-clad fist. It stumbled to the ground, unconscious. "They just won't stop coming!" He whined, making a pouty face. Suddenly, Mark felt a sharp pain in his back. Fuck! He think-screamed, turning around. A werewolf."Son of a mother..." Mark breathed, his back in searing pain, his vision blurring. He was unable to block another swipe, and this time he was struck in the chest. His vision blurred so much that he could barely see anything. Mark felt himself lose contact with reality, and to those looking from the outside, Mark's hair would lighten to a bleach-blonde color, and his eyes would turn a scarlet red color. "You've gotten yourself into quite the situation this time..." Mark muttered, seemingly to himself, his voice a tad bit deeper. With a flick of his own wrist, Mark's wounds were covered by a metallic plating, leaving him with a slightly robotic look. A thin coating of silver aura covered Mark as he looked around, seemingly absorbing his surroundings. "Peculiar. I wonder where he's gotten himself. It would be rather convenient if he'd just ntoice me already." Two more werewolves lunged at Mark, but he did not even budge. He simply slowly dragged his hands across the air in front of him. Flecks of aura were left behind, and as he snapped his fingers, each fleck grew into a silver dagger, lashing at the skin of the werewolves, who quickly collapsed to the ground, too injured to continue fighting. It seemed as though Mark had just noticed the woman who he had just greeted before, 'Well hello there, who might you be? And would you mind telling me where I am? I'm rather confused."

After she responded, he'd nod, a silver hilt poking up from behind his shirt. He'd grab it, and a clicking noise could be heard as he pulled it up, revealing a white metal whip that was shaped oddly like a human spine. "I suppose I'll be forced to deal with Mark's problem now. What a pain. Name's Tas, by the way, in case you were wondering. And I am not an alternate personality. My existence is just a tad bit more meaningful than that, yeah?" He always made that rather clear when he met someone new since most people made that assumption on their own, it was quite the struggle, to be him. The man who referred to himself as Tas's whip snaked around, lengthening by particularly a meter seemingly on its own. Another werewolf lunged at Tas, and his whip snaked by itself, requiring no movement on Tas' part, and caught the Lycan in midair. Tas flicked his wrist and sent into hurdling into a pile of rubber. The whip, which had lengthened itself enough that it no longer resembled a spine, wrapped itself around Tas' wrist as he turned around, eyeing the scene for any more imminent threats. "Whew, am I done yet?" He asked, bending back in order to crack his back.

Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious] Empty Re: Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious]

Post by Noheme 1st March 2017, 3:56 am

Her power was something great, but it was not on the highest level for now it seemed. Well, it was still relatively new magic to the girl, so something like honestly just had to be expected. Still, the breath attack proved to be quite useful against the horde of enemies that were currently present on the battlefield, easily clearing a whole line of them in one sweep. Not quite enough to finish off the big one, but there was really no need to worry about him anyway afterwards. The man who was the only one here with their sanity still intact easily finish him along with several more. Noheme too had few of them charging at her after what she did. Jumping down, she smiled with a cocky expression. "I'm no one in particular." Was her simple answer to his question as to who she was. There was absolutely no need for introductions at this point of time as she saw it.

Perhaps later, when they would not be swarmed by a bunch of blood thirsty beasts that wished to tear them apart. There was a moment when the moon goddess wanted to unsheathe her sword and use that to deal with the pests, but she also quickly noticed that the man was doing his best to only injure them to the point where they stopped fighting. There was absolutely no need to be killing these beasts and she felt it somewhat. Their magical energy was going berserk inside of their bodies. It was a transformation, temporary one. Were all of these actual residents of this village? It was the most logical conclusion the goddess could come to, seeing how dead this place was with the exception of these beasts. So it was concluded, she had to keep the weapon where it was right now to make sure that none will die because she was not careful with the sharp blade.

It was a mild annoyance, but also one that she could deal with. With a sigh, she started sprinting towards some leftovers that were stumbling around, unsure of which target they should go for. And as one of the beasts turned around, two feet kick it square in the face, sending the poor creature flying into a nearby wall as the fox girl landed on the ground again, cracking her knuckles. "Guess I needed the warm-up anyway." A little reasoning she gave herself, justifying why she was doing things how she was doing them for whatever reason. It was not like she had to convince herself that this was the correct way of doing it all. But oh well, her mind was all over the place like that sometimes. And her speciality was close quarters combat as well, meaning this would be no problem at all. As as another of the werewolves approached from behind and swiped it's claw, the girl merely caught it with her own hand, clutching it hard.

And with a smirk, she would force the beast into the air and slamming it into the ground in front of her before kicking it's head to knock it out. Looking around, there was no more enemies as her new companion managed to deal with quite a few of them as well. Though he looked different now, also speaking in different manner and asking questions that made it obvious that he was no longer himself. What exactly happened when she was not paying attention? Oh well, as long as he was alive. "We're in the 'Haunted Village', that's what it's called by most. And I am merely a wanderer that happened to stumble on this whole mess, deciding to help since your previous state appeared to have some problems with it all." He said that he was not an alternate personality, but then what was he? The fox girl didn't exactly posses a power that would allow her to see souls and such, so she could not tell of it were two people in one body or something else entirely. But for now, they had a moment of respite, so they could clear things up and have a little talk about what was going on in this place. Though the ever present howls were suggesting that this moment would not last forever.

Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious] Empty Re: Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious]

Post by Mark Baxter 3rd March 2017, 11:49 am

His companion seemed to enjoy being mysterious, referring to herself as "no one in particular" when asked who she was, though she also seemed rather confident in herself, smiling in a cocky manner. Tasuruha had also noticed how she was avoiding killing their enemies, something that Tasuruha had felt a sub-conscient desire to do as well. Perhaps Mark had been avoiding killing these things for a reason? That must've been it. Taking a second to identify the magical energy of the beasts, the demon noticed that they were experiencing some sort of temporary transform--perhaps he should be a tad bit more careful, and refrain from chucking any more werewolves into walls. He was going to keep using his whip, it was by no means lethal unless he wanted to kill whatever he was attacking, but still, it never hurt to be careful. Turning around quickly, Tasuruha just barely stopped the werewolves behind him, his white whip seeming to act on its own. "These pests just will not quit. You'd think they'd notice all their companions getting pummeled to shreds. Irritating." The wolf whimpered as the whip raised it into the air, above Tasuruha's head. "It's rather unfortunate that I've got to do this to you. I'm sure you're a brilliant person, normally." He flicked his wrist, and the werewolf created a crater in the ground as it crashed into the cobblestone sidewalk.

His companion was astounding powerful, able to send werewolves hurtling into walls with a simple kick, stating that this was nothing more than a "warm-up". Tasuruha couldn't help but wonder, what was such a mysterious figure doing around these parts? He made a 'Tsk' noise, annoyed at not knowing who it was that he was dealing with. He and the mysterious unidentified lady quickly managed to deal with a great majority of the werewolves, though they had also destroyed much of the village. Where there were once quaint stone cottages, there were now noticeably less quaint piles of rubble. Another tsk noise, "I should stop destroying so many buildings, it's a rather bad habit of mine." Unidentified woman dealt with the final werewolf, sending it into the air and knocking it unconscious with a kick. She then proceeded to explain to Tasuruha where they were, someplace called the 'Haunted Village'. 'No one in particular' had apparently been wandering around and shown up to help Mark, who had been struggling with the werewolves. A silent peace hung in the air for just a split second, but howls quickly pierced the silence. Their moment of peace would decidedly not last particular long. A silver aura radiated still radiated from Mark's body, flickering like a flame. "So, mysterious unidentified wanderer, will you grace me with your identity? It would be rather nice if you did." He smiled, revealing slightly pointed teeth. He was sure she was curious about his own identity, and the fact that she wasn't trying to kill him yet meant she probably wasn't aware of his identity or did not care, but still, he was never the first to say who he was, it could be rather dangerous when you were an exiled demon.

Unfortunately, there was not much time for Noheme to reply to Tasuruha's question, as a new pack of werewolves had found the duo. There were six in total, growling and foaming at the mouth, not waiting even a split second before splitting into two groups of three, one of these packs attacking each of the people that they had found. "You just won't quite, will you? Annoying." The thong (yes, that's what it's called) split into three, one snaking towards each of the werewolves. They were quickly bound and hovered a couple of inches in the air. The whip wasted no amount of time banging them into each other like cymbals, whereupon all three of the promptly passed out. The whip released them, and the unconscious bodies slumped onto the ground as the thongs (still what it's called) of the whip recombined, snaking around Tasuruha's wrist once again. He glanced over at Noheme, to see how she was dealing with her werewolves, dusting himself off. "Well, I've finished. These things are quite a hassle. Still irritating." He was rather done with these werewolves, and wanted Mark to take over again, but his consciousness was practically unidentifiable, he had just taken quite the beating; he apparently needed more time to rest.

Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious] Empty Re: Shine like the Moon [Private//Leila Vergious]

Post by Noheme 3rd March 2017, 12:17 pm

Some would probably say that they were going through an intense battle. But honestly, this was really not that much for someone of Noheme's level. Her power exceeded any of the werewolves quite easily, which meant she would probably not be defeated even if she tried to get into that state. But at least that meant that the fighting would be done quite fast, allowing for calmer moments. As much as the moon goddess loved to fight, something like that was somewhat pointless. She desired reactions from her actions. But all these beasts were doing was growling and howling in agony. And yet, the smile plastered on her face would not fade even as she finished off the werewolves. "It would appear that they are under the effects of some odd curse. Things like that usually make men go mad. And rampaging lunatic often cares not for their own situation, even if all of their comrades are going down like this."

It might have been a little strange comparison, but it probably worked. Right now, they were going against rampaging monsters that were once humans. But all the fur and extra power filled their brains, made them unable to think properly about their own situation and the fact that they had absolutely no hope of defeating the enemy in front of them. It was the sad reality and they were rather lucky that both of the mages were sensible ones, realizing what was going on. If some dark mage was in this place, they would probably be no more. Loss of at least somewhat innocent life in such matter would truly be tragic as well. Something that would happen outside of one's control, unfortunate and undesirable. The goddess had that view too, as she despised when things happened. Things that she could never hope to defy.

And despite the boy's clearly damaged state, he was still capable of fighting on such level as well. It was rather admirable, she had to admit. Or perhaps it was simply because the second being took control, using it's own life force to continue on going? That was also a possibility. If she wanted to find out, then they would probably need to communicate a little. Something that was yet to see if it would work. Another comment about destruction that made the fox girl laugh. "While you should probably tame yourself a little, I imagine they were prepared for something like this. Especially if this curse affects the whole village. It feels... ancient. Nothing recent or curable, even. They were living with this for centuries at least." Though the real question was when they build this place. It could have even been that the founders were already cursed, essentially forming a community that could shut itself away from the rest of the world because of their unfortunate fate. It was not a bad idea, just a sad story. And finally, they were done. And once again, this new being would ask Noheme for her name. Well... she did have one that she could give.

"If you insist on using names, then feel free to call me Eris Sytry." It didn't quite seem necessary to the girl, as this was most likely only a temporary meeting. But if it would calm the man down, then there was no reason to hide her false name that she used to intrude herself to everyone. And yes, she did not quite care that howls mostly covered her voice when she spoke up. Few more werewolves, they were not quite worth paying too much attention to. So as the group of tree, approached the female, she would merely extend her hands forward and start spinning in place. Venom God’s vortex! A sudden wave of purple and black, picking the beasts up with it and throwing them into the air as well as infecting them. Their fall definitely did not look very pleasant as they all crashed into the hard ground. This fight was finished rather quickly. "There is no need to worry. I can't sense all that many left in this place." They were slowly but surely getting to the end of this ordeal. So at least they had that now. For now, the girl simply waited for the gentleman's reply to the introduction she performed.

And so, they were done. At least, they were for now. The woman had stated that she could no longer sense any werewolves, at least nearby, which Tasuruha had decided was probably a very good thing. He found two things about this situation rather intriguing. The first was the woman's magic, that which could slay a God, at least, according to all her screams. This mysterious woman explained something about how this curse seemed ancient, and that it had been here for generations, but honestly, Tasuruha didn't really care... He was not even sure how he had ended up here, so he really only cared about getting out alive. A rather selfish goal, but a good and realistic one as well, Tasuruha thought. The one thing that intrigued him the most out of this situation was Eris' magic, how had this woman versed herself in the art of slaying a God? Tasuruha was rather curious, the myths went that only a God could teach this mysterious form of magic, or, if you happened to be in a situation like Tasuruha's own, you could teach whatever iteration of the body you lived in to use the magic that you had used for the past many lifetimes. He figured that probably was not the case here and quickly ruled it out. Deciding to try to veil the question at least a bit, Tasuruha began, "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Eris." He nodded, "Say, this magic you've been utilizing in combat seems rather intriguing. Tell me, where did you learn such a... unique form of magic. I've not seen anything like it in all my years of living. And let me tell you, there have been many." He chuckled slightly, "Shall we chat for a tad while we wait for the inevitable return of these pesky beasts?" He asked with a slight yet warm smile. Technically, he wasn't lying, he'd never actually seen any form of God Slayer magic before. He had heard rumors, yes, but he'd never actually see such a form of magic. It was intriguing, so similar to the form of magic he taught his vessels, yet strangely different. He had expected the magic to feel familiar, and, to some extent it did, but it also felt strangely different. It was the strangest feeling he'd ever felt before, and that was saying something, considering how long he had lived.

Moments of respite between different battles were always something that one should treasure dearly. After all, those could have been the very last moments of peace in one's life before they would depart to battle, never to return. Some would like to spend times like these alone, others chatting with people around them so that they would not feel lonely. Noheme didn't really care for either, as she was a goddess who was still quite far from the human concepts such as loneliness or love. But... was she truly? Well, there was no use to be thinking about something like that right now, especially once the man's words rested on her shoulders. Weigh of someone's question... at times, that burden could be rather great too and depending on her answer, could change that someone's life completely. Clenching one of her hands tightly, she would properly turn towards this blonde boy, her normally emerald green eyes shining with a purple hue. "It's best that you do not learn much about it. If you were mesmerised by this magic's destructive power then do your best to forget. It can be as much of a curse as it can be a blessing at times, a fickle walking board with thorny spikes below. One wrong step and you or someone close to you can suffer as a result... so you too would do good to not approach me carelessly. It would most likely be the end of your life if we were to make a direct skin contact."

That was her curse. A power given to her by the miracle demon who she calls Lilith. Demon... was he truly that? That's what his kind is called by mortals of this place, but seeing how he gave her this power, he was much more than just some demon. He was a god, capable of destroying anything effortlessly. But something like that would be no fun, so instead, he uses his nearly limitless power to toy with other sentient beings, such as this girl herself. It was almost making her sick just thinking about it all. Things were changing far too quickly in her life and she did not like that one bit. In any case, that was probably the best answer she could provide right now for they young lad. "If you want to talk, I'm not opposed. But do remember that we're not more than just strangers. I have no interest answering questions directly related to me, as we will most likely never meet again after this ordeal is finished." Those were some strong words. Especially coming from Noheme who knew more than anyone else just how unpredictable could one's journey truly be.

Tasuruha was given an ominous warning of sorts about the power of the God Slayer magic that his companion utilized, speaking of it as both a blessing and a curse. Her control over her abilities was rather intriguing to Tasuruha, most people that utilized the magic of Divine or Unholy beings that he had met in his long life had had little to no control over their abilities; many of them eventually went insane. He nodded slowly at her warnings, "I am... Intrigued, to say the least. You have much more control over it than I had expected." He smiled wryly, "And I can assure you, direct skin contact will most certainly not lead to my death. And even if it happened to do so, I can guarantee it would not be the last you see of me." Suspecting that he may have spoken a tad too much, Tasuruha quieted himself, scolding himself for speaking about his past in such an extensive manner. It was rather reckless of him to do so.

All that said, the woman agreed to talk, though she was vehement about excluding personal details from the conversation, saying the two of them would never meet again. Yet, Tasuruha felt as though Mark and Eris would end up having much to do with one another. "Very well." He replied, "If that is what you wish, then I shall follow suit. I suppose it is best you not learn much about me. Good fortune never falls upon those who do." Those words sent a shudder down his spine as he vividly remembered multiple past lives and the deaths that came with them. He had grown attached to Mark, his newest incarnation. The boy was rather quirky and more intelligent than many previous iterations of his consciousness. He could only hope that he would avoid yet another gruesome death by one of his siblings. The death was always painful, but the rebirth hurt so much more. Growing accustomed to a new body, a new self, a new mind to awaken to the horrors of its existence. It was terrible. Deciding that brooding would do him no good, Tasuruha shook his head. "Eris, was it?" He asked, "Why do you find yourself here? It a tad... Out of the way for your average person, do you not agree?" Then again, perhaps that was not the best question to ask. He found himself unable to access Mark's memories at this moment, so he himself was not sure what he was doing here. These were the struggles of being a heretic demon living in the body of a metallic boy that he himself had created that had been reborn for the umptillionith time. It was not a particularly relatable struggle for most people, but it pretty much sucked.
