Name: Leahndr 'Aspont'
Gender: Female
Age: Late teens (body)
Birthday: 04.30
Sexuality: ??
Special Characteristics: Raised, lumpy scars across the backs of her shoulders. A vertical, slightly slanted scar across her left eye.
Personality: Meet Leahndr of Aspont. She's selfish, occasionally clever, and has a strong hypocritical streak. She also happens to be dead, but for all purposes her body's the same as any other.
Let's start at the top. Leah's got a bright enough mind, but the problem is that, having experienced the effects of it once before, she is all all too aware of how vulnerable a person can be. On account of this, her go to motto is "If it looks like a snake, it's probably a hydra." Meaning, the worst case scenario is always a scenario. Come to think of it, Leah's probably what one would label as a pessimist. And she's lazy, to boot; if she could afford it, she would lie at home all day on the couch, writing fake news articles, scanning treasure maps, and eating bread and butter or Mac n' Cheese. Leah hasn't got much of a taste for spice, after all. Yes, she's immature. Yes, she also doesn't cringe at the thought of blatantly misleading people. And yes, she will not hesitate to call you a knows-nothing kid or a liar. Hey, let's take it easy for a moment. Surely, there has to be some good traits in that bony body.
Of course, only half of them were lost upon death. Leah's not exactly sly in her typical demeanor, but she can be pretty dang sketchy at times. Oh wait, these are supposed to be positive traits. About that, well then, any shopkeeper from Poolaria (her home town) would be able to tell you that there's not much bartering to be done when it comes to Leah. She's decently smart and handles money like it's her lifeline. And really, I suppose it somewhat is. Being suspicious of anyone who very much wants her money has both kept her alive, out of trouble, and away from anyone who's looking to cheat her. Really, it has only ever been an advantage, because truly nice people shouldn't expect so much payment in return for their acts of good will. And Leah isn't not deluded or deranged, even if she's stingy and a bit scrawny. Despite the fact that she doesn't act like a saint nor intend to, she knows quite well what society's expectations of good behavior are. When her actions don't concede with them, she witnesses... probably... deep, deep down inside. She's also steady in some odd situations; lying might be her everyday, but that doesn't mean she had to be sneakier sneaky and devilish about it. Betrayal and abandonment are on nobody's want list.
Of course, she's loath to make any serious commitments, for fear of dying, and generally making an oath with crossed fingers means nothing to her of obligation. It's more just a matter of pride, which can always be swallowed. One last thing to make up for all her negativity (maybe, maybe not) is her skill of being carefully organized, nearly at all times. Put her in a messy room: if she can't escape or beat you up, she'll have it cleaned within the hour or less.
In battle, you ask? Ha, well she sure does her best to avoid those. But Leah's fine aware that people aren't particularly loving of deserters, so she's likely to shy away from that, being so fond of her neck the way it is. Probably, she would try to find a nice cushy spot away from most of the fighting. Happen's a fellow stumbles on her and she's might as slit his throat, and no matter be what side he's on, if he poses any possible threat. Loyalty to a faction isn't loyalty to some strangers, in her book. If she's messed up and gets caught in a real skirmish, she nearly always wants to get out as soon as possible. No going for a knockout; you'd better hide your vitals or you'll be gutted like a fish or a bleedin' heart for deals. Capture Leah and infallible, she won'5t commit suicide, regardless of what precious info she's holding or not holding. Babble isn't her usual thing though. So's like if it involves her pledged side, she's not to speak a mutter. If a person isn't on her important radar and someone's wanting his whereabouts, you'd better send his momma a message to get carving sommat like RIP on a slab of stone, cause Leah mayhap gonna give him up.
She's naught but a stone-faced gixie, so if you're, so if you're wanting her to lead your fights, better pay her good coin unless she's got some personal stake in it. And by personal, I mean as extreme to home s you can get. Leah does command with care for her troops, being that they don't have to die for her to live, and the girl isn't fond of anyone dying if it can be avoided. But remember that she's not a lion no matter what, and she clings to life like someone's been messing about with super glue. Calling a retreat's nothing more than water off a duck's back, to Leah, cause the best defense might be an offense but she's like to scoff at both. Running away's a real plan to keep safe. As for under the watchful eye of a commander, Leah's not likely to misbehave much. Brown-nosing isn't her style, but if it keeps away attention that can be fine enough. Mentioned earlier, she would rarely flat out leave the army, but she might not obey orders that would land her in a hefty spot of trouble.
Likes:
» Safety. She doesn't want to die again.
» Water. Drinking wise. It's the only beverage for her.
» Love stories. Anything mushy and gushy, but not involving tragic sacrifices.
» Money. It can buy a whole lot of things.
» Rarity, Beauty. In both history and visual appearance, Leah often looks for treasure, even if it can bring trouble.
Dislikes:
» Self-righteous people. Dang, boy/girl, you hardly owe an explanation to Leah for every little thing you do. She would undoubtedly not always give you a truthful one. Stop trying to justify yourself to her. For a few sentences, she might find it hilarious, but that kind of thing causes her to get peeved very quickly
» Martyrdom. If dying can't be avoided, then alright, it was nice knowing you and thank thee kindly for the sacrifice. But it's rare that this kind of loss is absolutely necessary. The "save yourself, I'll stay back and die for you" mentality is not something that Leah can encourage in any way. She'll drag the person with her if she can.
» Insensitivity. Being a liar and all, Leah finds it easier to get out of awkward conversations and situations than many people. What she can't stand is when someone's caught in one of these and they blatantly state just how much they couldn't care about anyone else's concerns. Apathy = no no. Leah has emotions, even if she's not completely forthright about revealing them.
Motivations:
» Treasure. Be it touch-ables or money and magic, Leah's interested.
» Living, Survival. She's one who isn't going to give up on life. If she breathes, she has hope, and she'll fight for that.
» Protection. Even for strangers. It's her duty to rescue the idiots who are looking to throw themselves off cliffs or giving all for tricksters who don't love them. Leah wants them to see reason.
Fears:
» Death. She's been there, done that, and is still terrified of it. People don't get third chances.
» Unreasonable Anger. Leah can occasionally be paranoid, but she isn't unpleasant to talk to most of the time. People who are full of ire, out for cruel revenge or to hurt other people? She avoids them like the plague.
» Fast-moving Waters. Rivers, rapids... it was how she died the first time.
