Magic
Primary Magic: Starlit Prism
Secondary Magic: N/A
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: Starlit Prism is a magic that few people know much about. It can only be learned through direct tutoring, rather than through a book as some prefer to do. It is named for its appearance, which manifests as a multitude of billions of specks of light, the colors of which are either controlled primarily by the emotion of the user. In fact, this magic itself is nearly completely emotion-based. Positive emotions aid in battle, while negative ones provide a disadvantage. It was created hundreds of years ago when the first user wished for a magic no others had. This coveting led him to eventually capture and kill hundreds of fairies, turning each of their power into dozens of orbs of light, the very light that makes up Starlit Prism. However, this horrendous action came with a price. The magic became cursed. It can never be learned by any method but tutoring, and even then, once the student overcomes the master in terms of power, the master is fated to die within the day, often through a tragic death. If the user attempts to kill themselves without teaching it to another, they become part of the magic itself, forced to watch in eternal torment as the magic continues its reign on the next person it latches on to.
Neru surpassed her master at a young age due to the man's slowly deteriorating health, though she has yet to be aware of what truly happened to him. As such, she knows little of the deeper workings of the magic, simply due to the fact that she was never told of them. As such, she often finds herself using the negative effects in battle. In terms of the magic itself, she prefers to keep the lights floating around her in a sort of cloud at all times, ready at any moment to be formed into a spell and sent into the direction needed. As such, it's often rare to find her without at least a few little spheres of light drifting around her. Even then, it's more often she uses it as a defense instead of an offense, which leads back into her use of its negative side.
Strengths:
[*]Blinding Light: If one is looking directly at the spell she casts that requires all of her light orbs (these instances will be noted in the sell itself) they'll be blinded by the flash for one post.
[*]Edge over Darkness: Given the nature of the magic being one of light, it works the best against magics of and related to darkness in that it gives 50% more damage against them.
[*]Healing: Given light's pure nature, this magic can also be used for healing.
Weaknesses:
[*]Negative Emotion: An excess of negative emotion, such as hatred or anger, have a negative effect on her magic. This is elaborated on in relation to Black Cast and the primary emotive colors of Red, Brown, and Grey.
[*]Cursed Tutor: If Neru ever attempts to teach another her magic, and they draw above her in power, she will die.
[*]Light Effect: As it is a light magic, it only deals 25% of total damage to magics that are also light-based.
[*]Stealth: Given that the light nearly never goes away, Neru and stealth are two things that don't fit well. It's like walking with a sign over her head stating exactly where she is at any given moment.
Lineage: Spirit Of Corruption:
Description: Aeons ago, a noble king made a deal with a deity of deception and malice. The deal was that he would sacrifice his entire family, along with himself, in a dark ritual in honour of the being, but would have his kingdom spread across the world to become a global empire. What really was the case, however, was that the same deity had previously forged a contract with a rivalling kingdom. The deceiving god would ruin the noble king's growing country and would in turn receive the hand of the rivalling king's daughter, whom was so beautiful even the god had become captivated by her. Thus, the deity tricked the noble king to kill himself and all heirs to the throne, eventually leading to political wars for the empty throne of power which ravaged the kingdom and killed it from within.
To this day the deceived king's angered spirit roams the world in it's quest for vengeance, sometimes possessing the bodies of children at birth and remaining dormant within them until his wrath is called upon.
Ability: Calling upon the power of the king, and the vast population that died upon the deal’s completion, the user can expel an energy burst outward from themselves, knocking anything around the user away or unconscious. The energy blast has a range of 20 meters, in which the first ten meters from the epicenter can cause intense vertigo or loss of consciousness for anyone that is at least two ranks below the user. If one is 11 meters to 20 meters away from the epicenter, they will simply be knocked back violently. Can be resisted by those who are well braced and sturdy. Anything caught in the energy burst will be dealt user ranked spell damage(max S-rank)
Usage: Instant effect with an 8 post cooldown.
Unique Abilities:
[*]Black Cast: This is an ability that manifests when negative emotion has completely taken over Neru, to the point that all her dots of light have turned black. This takeover of black light is then given the name Black Cast. However, because black light is somewhat of an oxymoron, this state cannot remain. Thus, the orbs draw in close to the caster's body and then explode. This gives damage of one rank above Neru to anybody within a 10-meter radius, but also lower Neru's health to a state of unconsciousness (0 HP), no matter what her health may have been at the time.
[*]White Cast: White Cast is the opposite of Black Cast, but doubly as difficult and rare to come across. This is an occasion in which Neru's is feeling purely one, positive emotion. Due to human nature, this is often nearly impossible. The only documented case in which she was able to use it was one in which her mentor was under attack, and she wished to save him. When under White Cast, Neru's damage is doubled. However, if the pureness of White Cast is corrupted even slightly by negative emotion, it turns to Black Cast, which, as explained above, ends up leaving her in a state in which she is unable to battle.
[*]Colors in Relation to Emotion: As stated in the description, each color has an new effect on the magic. This is based on the primary emotive color at the time, or the color that is most dominant among the orbs of light. When the magic is in use, it is required that the user state the current primary color in every post. The primary color must match the RP logically (AKA color can't be blue if the user is showing more signs of anger).

When the magic is in use, it is required that the user state the current primary color in every post. The primary color must match the RP logically (AKA color can't be blue if the user is showing more signs of anger).
- Colors:
Red: Anger and Aggression. This poses a negative effect to the magic by burning the user and causing 5 damage every other post in which red is the primary color. When the primary color changes, the effect wears off.
Orange: Playful and Energetic. This poses a positive effect to the magic by increasing the duration of any appropriate spells by one post. An example of appropriate would be Binding Light, which is wielded like a weapon.
Yellow: Happy and Friendly. This heals status effects equal to or lower in rank of the user while active, and provides a 4% MP regain for each post in which there are no status effects. However, it can only heal three status effects. If three are healed, this buff stops functioning, including the MP gain.
Green and Blue: Natural and Stable is Green, while Serenity, Calm, and Trusting behaviors exhibit Blue. These are the colors it takes during times in which the user is the most neutral in state and thus has no effect on the magic.
Pink: Love. If this is the primary color while a healing spell is used, it boosts the power of the spell by 25%.
Brown: Overwhelmed,or Sick. This increases the damage of every attack another mage lands on her by 25%.
Gray: Sadness and Grief. This takes a 1/4 of the damage of every offensive spell that the user casts, giving it a negative effect. This is calculated by finding 25 percent of the damage and removing it from the spell whenever a hit is made.
Note: All proportion-based chances will be rolled using a dice rolling site. (Link cannot currently be posted; 7 day link restriction.) The result must be screenshotted and put under a spoiler. The number that makes any of the proportions happen is one. The rest follow a similar fashion.
- Locked Unique Abilities:
[*]Regenerative Light:Every other post, Neru gains an extra 5% health regain, as the lights that constantly surround her passive attempt to heal her injuries. If she is using a spell in which it is stated that she uses all of her spheres, this does not have any effect.
(This is here until it's unlocked, feel free to ignore it. It has no current effect on her magic.)
Spells:
- D-Rank Spells:
- Binding Light:
- Name: Binding Light
Rank: D-Rank
Type: Light/Offensive/Supportive/Multiple-Hit
Duration: Max of 3 posts; can be dropped at any time.
Cooldown:4 if full duration is used. For every drop of one post in terms of duration, the cooldown drops a post. For example, a use for only one post will create a cooldown of two posts.
Description: Two chains are formed from light, both white in color and topped off with a tip similar to that of an arrowhead. These have the power to wrap around both physical and magical spells and/or items and both deal 7HP in damage for each hit. These chains are five meters in length, each, and generally only go as fast as one is able to fling them (no certain tangible speed, but it can be assumed that they're fast enough to be seen as a blur but slow enough to dodge). Both chains shine with light. If the user wishes, the chains can be combined into one to double the length (which would come to 10 meters).
Strengths:
[*]Can redirect magic attacks, should the chains wrap around a part of the attack.
[*]Can combine to lengthen the chain.
[*]Provided she is holding the end, they can be used as bonds for prisoners for a short period of time.
Weaknesses:
[*]Their ability to grab many things means that they can be grabbed as well, knocked away, or even used to yank the user around.
[*]Should the chains leave contact with her body, they disappate.
[*]Considering their wide-spread nature, they're dangerous to use around allies.
[*]They cannot grab air or wind-based magic.
- Rainbow Sphere:
- Name: Rainbow Sphere
Rank: D-Rank
Type: Light; Offensive; Instant
Duration: 2 posts
Cooldown: 3 posts
Description: Swinging out their hands, the caster sends all the orbs of light in the direction of the target. These form a sphere around the target and then smash inward from all sides. This sphere is 5 meters in diameter.
Strengths:
[*]Blocks nearly all ways to escape.
[*]Follows those who attempt to run at the wall of the sphere to escape.
Weaknesses:
[*]This spell uses all of her light spheres, rendering her regenerative ability invalid.
[*]Those with magic that allows them to go underground can escape this easily.
[*]If hit by a spell of higher rank from the outside, the sphere will collapse.
- Gentle Light:
- Name: Gentle Light
Rank: D-Rank
Type: Light/Supportive/Healing
Duration: 1 post
Cooldown: 2 post
Description: Light gathers around the user's outstretched hand. By placing this hand upon a person, the subject gains either 20 HP or 4% of their Mana.
Strengths:
[*]If one so wishes, two can be healed at once by splitting the gain each gets. (AKA, 5/5% each.)
[*]This spell also has a calming effect on the target.
Weaknesses:
[*]Cannot be used on oneself.
[*]The target must be still while casting.
[*]Touch is required.
- Flash:
- Name: Flash
Rank: D-Rank
Type: Light/Support/Instant
Duration:1 post
Cooldown: 2 posts
Description: Though there is no visible movement from the user, this spell activates when the user moves all the spheres needed into position. At this point, they all flash sharply, blinding those nearby that are equal to or lower in rank as compared to the user. This can also be used to break a person's hold on her or somebody else' body by coming in contact with the skin when it flashes. This flash only deals a fourth of a D-rank spell's damage.
Strengths:
[*]No movement required to activate it.
[*]The user is exempt from possible blinding.
[*]Requires few spheres for it to be effective.
Weaknesses:
[*]Ineffective against armor of any sort, when it comes to burning upon contact.
[*]Sunglasses are its kryptonite, as are closed and covered eyes.
[*]If a person is two or more ranks above the user, this spell is unlikely to break their grip should that be the intended function.
[*]If the orbs are hit by an attack before they can flash, they become inable to do so.
