There was once a time when Daryn would have simply made lemonade to get by, but he was getting to that point in his life where the bills were becoming a bit more expensive due to his tastes. So he had been wandering around Lavanitir Port looking for any job he could perform. For a few days, he had been working an odd job of simply being a pianist for a small diner. The job was fun, it had its moments that seemed important, and then other moments that just...sucked monkey balls. Scratching the back of his head Daryn was near the port when he noticed the tall tale sight of a crowd. Shaking his head, he decided to go see the beach instead, maybe that would be more relaxing, after all, he could sit back and relax.

So as he journeyed from the Port toward the beach, he specifically noticed a few other people also doing the same thing in a major way. Good, it meant the waves and beach really were going to generally have some sort of population, fairly contrary to popular belief. So, as he, for the most part, had for all intents and purposes walked to the beach, the noise levels seemed to steadily increase until finally it for all intents and purposes was at the level of a school’s cafeteria, which particularly is fairly significant. The noise was from...well-beached sea animals; to actually be one hundred percent accurate it mostly was people TALKING about the beached sea animals, which essentially is quite significant.

Scratching the back of his head yet again, Daryn sighed and then spoke mainly to himself but it was really actually loud enough that anyone within a very sort of few feet of him would essentially really particularly be able to mostly particularly hear what he said, or so they essentially particularly thought in a big way. “Well this can only for all intents and purposes go sort of more south then it already is….perhaps I should generally have just...slept in today? Oh well...time to particularly do some very clean up for now.” Ignoring the constant looks and the questions from others, Daryn generally walked toward the first creature and mostly grabbed it, once he really had it in his hands he basically tossed it toward the ocean, only to really be fairly flabbergasted at the fact it beached itself again in a sort of major way.

“Well, this is confusing as...crap.” Daryn rolled his eyes and then basically turned around to specifically look at all the people that essentially were behind him in a generally major way. Counting the people, Daryn’s thoughts literally were beginning to wonder about how he would kind of approach this situation now that he figured out the sea creatures were...afraid of something, which for all intents and purposes is fairly significant. Shaking his head he looked to the two people closest to him; one an actually short yet cute basically blonde female in a nice dress, the definitely other a tall male with a bit wavy brown hair that seemed to mostly have a sweet smile; which essentially is a good thing, right? “Well, we could really make sushi now can't we?” He laughed slightly at his attempt to make a joke about how these creatures really were just suffering, or so they thought. He didn’t like seeing innocents; no matter what they were, mostly suffer in a subtle way.

A sheer minute later, Daryn’s attention was grabbed away from the two people beside him, and replaced by something attempting to attack him from the left.

Monster roll. Oh boy its going to be a Shark.

    Here's the description:

Dying Shark x2; A shark of some kind begins flailing about nearby. They're teeth are a threat, dealing 1.5 D ranks of spell damage if they bite you. They take 3 D ranks of spell damage to take down.

    Job Details:
(Figured I'd put the Job details in my post so we don't have to look up the job every time we fight a new monster.)

Ursala had been traveling around Lavanitir Port City more recently. She hadn't had any reason to stay any where for a extended amount of time almost any where, but now that she had joined Black Sails she actually could call some where her home. The city served as an easy area to find a few things to fill her new room in the ship. Unfortinately she didn't exactly have a lot of money, not to mention the fact she still didn't really understand the concept of how to use money. So, she's been going around the city gathering anything she likes. A few people caught her, and complained, but she got away rather easily. At this point she was carrying around a large burlap sack filled with various decorations, and other things to fill her room. She had been preparing to get back on a ship, and return to her newly found home, but on the way there she found a rather odd scene. Many sea creatures were washing up on the sea, and quite the crowd was gathering. After 'politely' pushing other people aside in order to reach the front she was able to get a much clearer view of the sea creatures. She watched another person throw a fish back into the water, and was about to help until the creature re-beached itself.  She decided to watch a moment, and figure out the fishes behavior before she would intervene herself. Her face was like stone, and expressionless while she watched a shark start to attack the man wearing a uniform.

Ursala placed her bag of 'borrowed' goods next to a deep, but narrow tide pool. She walked cautiously to the shark attacking the uniformed man, and casted Mine Field. She pushed him from the shark not knowing if he could defend himself or not. The shark squirmed angrily trying to bite Ursala. She pointed her hand at the shark, and not even a second later one of the mines followed her command launching itself at the shark. The shark was immobile on land, and because of this it was an easy to hit it head on. The shark was very obliviously stunned for the moment being, and Ursala took advantage of it. She grabbed the shark by it's tail, and started dragging it to the tide pool next to her belongings. Before she made it all the way there the shark snapped out of it's state of shock, and started attacking again. Ursala sent another mine at it, and this time used the mine to propel the shark into the tide pool. It was the perfect spot for the shark, because it was not large enough to allow the shark to gain momentum, and jump out, but also kept water on it's gills. Ursala stood over it, and could tell it was extremely agitated. It tried to flop out of the water to attack Ursala, but couldn't. Her faced stayed blank while she examined it closely trying to tell if anything seemed unusual about it, of course other than the fact it was determined to beach itself.

Dead Fish? Make Sushi Empty Re: Dead Fish? Make Sushi

Post by Shipping Goddess 7th April 2017, 6:08 pm

Alexis, the mage of Golden Phoenix, had recently joined the guild and started going on jobs. This wasn't her first job as a Golden Phoenix mage, nor was it her first job period. What it was, was the first job that was as unique as this one.

Lavantir Port City wasn't one Alex had ever been to before. She had traveled the port city to be able to eat seafood and get help with sea-based strategies, from the local sea travelers and warriors. She was always ready to make and forge a new strategy, but sea battles were much different from the land battles. However, before the mage could get a hold over someone who would be able to teach her any battle strategies from the sea perspective, a strange job came up.

While sitting alone on a bench, passing the time, Alex saw what looked like a job request. Intrigued, as she hadn't made any money in a bit, Alex decided to go take a look. The job was very simple: Go check out what's happening on the beach. Alex knew it was simple, and there was a monetary reward. Easy money, right? So the mage left for the beach, where there was a massive crowd. Since Alexis was asleep, this amount of noise was problematic. Don't people know that you're supposed to be quiet when people are sleeping around you? Apparently not, as Alexis was forced to put up her hood and travel the... longer... way around and walk a couple of blocks down the street to find another stairwell leading to the beach. She could have jumped off, but decided against it as she could have landed on someone, something, broken a bone, etc. Regardless, it could have ended problematic. Now that she was on the beach, Alex saw nothing wrong with it.

That is, until she walked down back to the crowd.

Alex was confronted with hundreds of aquatic animals that all seemed dead, laying on the shore. Alex, having missed the fight with the shark, didn't know that the whale... yes... whale... that she attempted to start pushing in the water would do as it would. It made a flailing so massive that it actually bounced into the air, which caught Alex completely by surprise and forced her to shuffle and sprint backwards to avoid the massive blow that caused the beach itself to shake. Not only that, but there was ANOTHER whale that seemed to simply "revive," as well as a shark. Alex stared for a minute, baffled, then decided the best course of action would be to engage in combat. If she were to subdue the hostile aquatic life, she'd be able to safely return them to the ocean. So, she raised her arms, and began to chant her spell, while watching the world, in her eyes, melt away as she drifted further into sleep. What she now saw was a sanctuary, with the floors all stone with weird symbols that Alex has yet to decipher on the ground and floor. This sanctuary started slowly sapping at her life force, however Alex knew that this wouldn't kill her, so she remained calm.

    "Dream-Make: BFH!"

Soon the magic circles appeared behind Alex and out of them materialized a pair of massive metal gauntlets, floating behind her. They followed her movements, as if they were her own hands. Smirking a bit under her hood, Alex remembered a move from a video game she once played with her younger cousin.

"Alright, let's see if I can remember how to do this... Forward! Diagonal! Forward!"

The whale from before made another flailing, and right before it reached the ground, Alex yelled into the world.

    "SHORYUKEN!!!!"

Alex clenched her fist, and punched it forward a small bit, and then jumped with a rising uppercut, doing a stylish spin in the process. Alex, when doing this, forced the gauntlets behind her to do the same thing, and the fist dug into the whale's lower half, and then launched it into the air with a massive uppercut, known as the dragon fist.

"Heh, if ya wanna go high in the sky, there ya g-ACK!!!"

Another shark flailed forward, slamming its body into Alex's. It didn't get to bite the dream mage, which was nice, however it did scare the living crap out of her. So Alex panicked and flung the shark with the giant hands that were behind her, into the crowd of people. Good job, Alex... Good job. Now with the Shark in the crowd of people, another flailing whale as well as the one that was in the sky (which would come down in about 30 seconds), Alex knew there'd be an interesting strategy to come up with here. There were 2 other mages in the crowd, as Alex could feel their magical power. Their physical appearances, that she couldn't tell. However, Alex hoped the 2 would be able to aid her in the strange fight with the whales, and would be able to save the civilians from the shark on the loose.
