    Job Details:

Yazuki knew full well what to expect when he woke up that day, a storm in the canyon just like any other day. It still hadn't stopped, and at this point he wasn't sure it ever will. He arose early to try to head to a small tarn he used to bath in ritualistically, but something caught his attention in his little box he kept for people who wanted him to come to do jobs. Apparently, Raijin was becoming a well known name, as he was starting to get more and more requests, which actually started to irritate him. This place used to be so peaceful for him. Now he was receiving... mail here? He pondered why people would venture so far to request him. It's not like he had been exposed to much of the world as of late. Perhaps it was the way he dressed? He looked over at the dharma and smiled. It definitely had to be the way he dressed. Seeing someone look like that would leave a lasting impression, especially when its hard to miss, since he was the only one he currently knew in all of Fiore wearing one. He smiled for a minute, realizing he definitely had a unique look going on, and it was catching eyes. He also knew lightning was flashy, and flashy draws attention too. However, there were some missions he had to turn down as of late, as he did not feel adequate at doing the mission by himself, and he had no help to do so.

This mission was one of them. It was from a pair of parents who's kid had wandered to some Mystic Tower and never returned, and how no one ever did. He about laid down the paper until he realized this was sent to whom it may concern, with a list of names. He found it curious as to why they listed all the names, figuring he had to have recieved the master copy. One of the names on the list, however, made him stop dead in his tracks. Marceline Anicetus? For one, how did they know about her? For two, why was she of interest to this job? He read the details more carefully, trying to find any clues, but nothing. Just a few parents who wanted their kid to come home to mother and father. He sighed deeply, knowing he would have to take this mission even if no one else came. Splitting up families is not something he would do, even his own, though he hadn't seen his brother in a while.

He went to bathe, cleaning up and relaxing thinking about the list. A few other names he recognized were on there too, but it was still puzzling. Would she go? No one ever returned from the tower the note stated, and there was money involved. He actually was excited at the thought to observe her once again, to let the curiosity get the better of him. He grabbed a fur and began to dry himself as he walked back to his cave, though this wasn't too effective since it had been raining the whole time. He finished drying off at the fire, preparing all of his gear. He was ready for anything with this set up, knowing full well he could let loose and have as much fun as possible. Whatever was in the tower was probably keeping people hostage, either that or he would be walking to his death, which he didn't know at this current moment. After getting dressed, he waved Miva goodbye as she miffed about how since he had figured out how to become a bolt of lightning from particles in the air alone, he hadn't used her to get anywhere, and she felt unneeded.

He streaked towards his destination, his curiosity still peaked. If Marceline was there, it would be a happy coincidence. To meet someone as intriguing once was a blessing, but twice was bliss. He had the utmost respect for the Lady, as she had shown him in kind. He zipped around the Tower spiraling downward around it as he arrived but a minute later at the most, landing with a clap of thunder at its base. His eyes were closed as he stood as he usually did when he was in meditation, clearing his mind for the preparation of this mission. He didn't know what was to await him, and he wondered what would be in the tower. He opened his green eyes and studied the tower closer, his hair in his two signature ponytails atop his head. If she was coming, he could wait, he thought, at least a little longer.

    CLAWED MY WAY TO VICTORY

"Frauchen!" a little girl's voice called out, sounding somewhat breathless as the child tried to catch up to her. In the little girl's chubby hand was an envelop, gripped tightly so that she would not lose it on her run to find her mistress. So tightly was it held in her grasp that the envelop had become wrinkled and slightly torn from the movement of her fingers. "Gnädige Frau, bitte," she tried to get Marceline's attention again, stopping in her tracks to drop to her knees in a bow. "Ich habe du ein Brief von ein Klient gebracht; Ich glaube es ist Etwas dass du wünschst dürfen für die Belohnung allein gehen. Aber dahin ist ein Name von Interesse an der Brief. Von meine Verständnis, diese müsse eine Originalkopie von die Mission." Her words alone had caused Marceline to stop and briefly listen to what the child servant had to say to her.

"Ein Name von Interesse?" she inquired, now turning on her heels to face one of her many servants. "Was Name ist auf die Liste du glaubst Ich irgendein Interesse hinein haben; du kennst vorbei jetzt niemand ist von Interesse zu mich. Sie sind alle Ratten und Schurken, Dinge die da Ich habe zu kümmern wenn ihr Zeit zu ein Ende kommen." She bit her tongue, so as to not go on any farther with what she was saying since before her was one of the "scoundrels" she spoke of. "Addie. . .  bitte, gebt das Papier zu mich. Falls es ist Etwas für mich dann es tut nicht hinein die Hände von deinesgleichen gehören." The woman extended her hand, waiting for the little girl to place the crinkled and slightly injured envelop in it. When she did, Marceline took out the slip of paper that had already been opened and studied the words written upon it.

"Hm. . . Ich sehe," she stated, folding the paper back up and placing it back inside of the envelop of which it belonged. "Ich annehme die da Ich in dies Mission werden; zwischenzeitlich, Addie, bekommen eins von ältere Diener ein Brief zu der Klient schreiben. Es ist in meine bester Interesse sie sind informiert von meine von die Mission nehmen, so die da Belohnung ist zu mich verteilt." Finished with the envelop, the woman handed it back to the servant, who gave a short nod of her head, took it, and ran off. Marceline watched as the tiny child rushed off to find one of the elder servants who was better at writing than she was. "Zu beliefe dat dey vould request such a lowly ranked magus zu go upon a mission, dat ist vhat intrigues me ze most. It makes me curious zu know vhy dey vould request him of all people, but I suppose ze only vay zu find out ist zu go dere myself."

Her figure slowly began to crumble away, like a statue breaking and falling into pieces from age and weather. Before long, nothing was left of her in the palace of Shikar, and she was brought to a different location, one she didn't recognize. She glanced around at the empty scenery, how bland it was and how the only thing there was an old, strange tower. Marceline frowned, not quite impressed with what she was presented with, but nevertheless, stayed where she was. "Disappointing," she spoke up, glossing over the scenery once more to see if anything else stood out than last time. "It's almost a bit zu bland für my liking, but it's just a tower, so I guess ze inside vould be more impressife dan ze outside." It appeared that Yazuki hadn't yet arrived at the scene of the mission yet, or he simply wasn't to come on it.

However, it would not be long before Marceline neared the tower and a strange bolt of lightning struck down around the tower. She stopped in her tracks and watched as it zigzagged around the tower's form and came to a stop at the entrance. The bolt quickly changed shape from a ball of light to that of a human form that she had just barely recognized as Yazuki. A sly smirk sprawled across her lips and she took a few more steps that would bring her right up close to him. "So, you decided zu come on ze mission after all," she spoke up, a mischievous tone settling into her voice. "I expected not zu see you come because of how dangerous dis mission ist panned out zu be; how a weak magus like you stands no chance against dis place." Marceline stopped speaking shortly after what she had said to him, it slowly dawning on her the words she said.

"I do not mean in ze sense dat you are weak in power, but dat you are weak in rank zu dese people in ze tower," she tried explaining herself. It was strange to think that her words could mean something else if she had not said them in the way she meant it. For all she knew, calling Yazuki weak could easily make him her next enemy, which was the last thing she wanted. She had very few friends and she had the small hope that she would be able to befriend this man in front of her. If not, then that, too was all right, but it was in her best interest to make as many friends as possible than enemies. Marceline quieted herself down and looked to the tower, deciding that it was best to appear interested in that than anything else. The last thing she needed right now was a job partner that was pissed off at her for saying the wrong thing unintentionally.

Post by Yazuki Yoshino 21st February 2017, 11:20 pm

Yazuki was slightly startled at Marceline's approached and hearing her words, but quickly calmed down. He looked at her with a warm smile, but he was still meditating while she started to speak he turned back to the tower and closed his eyes. It took a moment for him to realize what exactly she was saying, still not being used to her accent, but what he heard, he dismissed. She called him weak, which was not something he was used to being called. He usually stood up with the best, but his companion had already wounded his pride slightly with this. He didn't know how to react, but anger wasn't the answer. He already knew that she was full of surprises, so he didn't want to start something he would regret, as they had gotten along before famously, he was sure that she had just had a bad day, or was just kidding. He closed his eyes again at her comment and refused to open them, gripping into fists with Shock and Awe and letting out a long drawn out breath of air. He started up the steps but heard her explain further, and then he understood. He stopped in his tracks, turning towards her with a smile on his face and walked down to her. He looked around as he stood directly in front of her, trying to figure out where she had came from, but not finding anything. Finally, his gaze met hers.

"Not all should be judged by its cover. If that were the case, our first time meeting would have been brief. You of all people should know what it is like to feel... hmm, misjudged." With that he gave her a warm smile, breathing in deeply as he closed his eyes again, relaxing, and then releasing. He opened his eyes and smiled yet again. "I take no offense. I am still new to learning control of my abilities. I tend to still go overboard. Hopefully I grow out of it!" He let out a soft laugh as he turned and started up the steps to the Tower. To see her again was why he came. Her insult came across as concern when she rephrased it, and her actions showed him she didn't want to harm him. A mild curiosity arose once again, which was a feeling he felt he may have to get used to with Marceline. She was a labyrinth of mystery, and the deeper he went into the labyrinth, the more he felt he was getting closer to the center. He wanted to sit and talk with her again more than anything at the moment, as far as he was concerned, if the girl was alive inside, then she was alive. If the girl was dead inside the tower, well then she was dead. Time passing wouldn't affect it, but he didn't want to seem like he was avoiding the mission or getting too distracted.

He stopped again, waiting near the door for Marceline, so at to enter together. He didn't want to have her go in first and face something, but he didn't want to go in first and seem disrespectful. He had to keep things on an even playing field with this individual, he didn't want it to see otherwise. He thought back to their meeting in the Mysterious Canyon. It seemed like just a short time ago, and it was the most momentous arrival that  that he had received at the canyon in a long time. The events were still fresh in his head as he remembered how they both found such common grounds, yet seemed to be from two different worlds. She seemed to have problems with things he couldn't help, and he had quite possibly the opposite situation. While they seemed so different, to him it was a beautiful thing. To witness something so rare was not lost to him, not in this moment.

As he stood at the door a while longer until she would reach his side, he thought back to the effects she had when she was in the canyon, noting that he had to be careful. Shock and Awe should definitely help out, he noted, but he didn't know how well. He wanted to be able to be around her and tolerate whatever he had to, to make her feel like having her around would not affect him, so he was going to try his hardest to not let it show. A commotion started behind the doorway as he was snapped out of his thought process. He took up his normal stance as foot steps seemed to be running towards him shouting. The whites of his eyes turned black as tribals wrapped around his neck and up to his chin, going no further. two horn like tribals also appeared on either side of his hair line. He was going to make this quick if he could help it, and he didn't want to disappoint his new companion. A lightning infused aura cloaked him for a moment, as his dharma slowly started to glow, his movement would become more fluid when he finally moved. Small traces of lightning could be seen clinging to his armor and frame.

    CLAWED MY WAY TO VICTORY

The way Yazuki said their first meeting would have been brief from the start if either had judged the other could have gone many ways. If Yazuki had sought out the fame and fortune a person would get from turning in a Sinner, he likely wouldn’t have hesitated in capturing her. On the other hand, she was stronger than him, much stronger, and she had already showed that she wouldn’t have hesitated in killing him if he had posed a threat to her. In the end, he could have turned her in or she could have taken another life from the world that was just as innocent as all the others she had taken. It was a scary thought, but it was a thought that Marceline didn’t put much mind to since neither of the outcomes had occurred. She liked the way they had met, the way that the two of them had no means of hurting the other, but living in a form of coexistence. That was something she could get used to, something she adored in a way, just as much as she adored the thought of her lover.

Neither was she a person to judge people by their covers, more than she was to act irrationally and on a whim she couldn’t properly explain. If she had the choice, the ability to control her magic, so that people would not be hurt by her presence alone, she would live in peace. She had no ill intent toward others, just that she felt she had to fulfill the requirement that Death made when planning to take lives. Her magic was what controlled her, it wasn’t the other way around; it was her magic that made her kill and take, and repeat the cycle. It was designed to be controlled by her emotions, that was something she had quickly learned when being around people she liked. The more she liked a person, the less likely the magic would do harm to them and the more she hated a person, the higher the risk of death for them. Normally, one would think it was vice versa, but for her, Death complied when she wanted life in a world where she lived, but didn’t live.

She let out a sigh and followed after Yazuki into the tower beyond, traveling step after step through a winding hallway to who knows where. Her gaze wandered from brick to brick that made up the structure of the tower, expecting for something to pop out at them. However, nothing did, and they just continued on their way until they reached a door that blockaded their advancement into the building. Yazuki paused at the doorway, not saying a single thing to her to warn her that he planned on opening the door, but also seemed to wait for her. When she approached, the woman ducked through the door as he opened it, dispersing into invisible particles of Nether before reappearing inside of a room. Subtle footsteps rushing toward them were quickly caught by the woman’s senses, and she turned toward the only exit from the room. Heavy breaths of air, heavy footsteps, it was quite clear to her that the ones coming to meet them had the intent of hurting them.

Watching the other entrance, she would come to find about ten people had gathered from deeper within the tower to meet them. Each one was far different from another in appearance, but all wore the same style of robes, in color and design, that represented the Sun Magi. She wasn’t impressed by them, and all of their magical energy was extremely weak in comparison to her own magical power. It had become even clearer to her that these magi were only adequate in nature and likely didn’t have much control over their abilities. A frown crossed over her lips as she faced them, her hatred for them allowing for her aura to flare out to its max range of sixty meters. The walls and the floors, they both began to rot and crumble away from the effects of her aura, just as the apprentices’ flesh began to decay with it. “Dein Meister ist wertlos. Warum tust du in seinen Fußstapfen nachflogen?” she inquired in a voice lacking any sort of emotion.

Five of the apprentices would rush her, one augmenting his left hand while another augmented one of her legs, another augmented both of his fists, a fourth augmented his right hand and the fifth prepared for a bolt. One of the females raised a leg in an attempt to roundhouse kick Marceline, but her reflexes were slower compared to the woman’s. Instead of the kick ramming into her face, the kick flung through empty space, causing the female apprentice to falter and stumble over her feet. Marceline appeared near the corner of the room, staring back at the apprentices that were adamant in trying to bring her down. She yawned as a male apprentice rushed her to ram his fist into her gut, but she merely pushed him away with a single hand. While they were busy trying to fight with their hands and feet, the woman called upon her weapon, swinging the scythe outward. The weapon easily sliced through the male apprentice, cutting him in half and falling apart onto the ground in halves.

Her weapon came down upon the male apprentice again, across his throat, decapitating the man’s head from the rest of his torso. She glanced back up at the remaining four apprentices of her group, bringing the weapon to a readied position to fight the others. “You are padetic,” she spoke up to the apprentices, pressing off one of her feet to launch herself at them and swing her scythe in their direction. However, the woman’s attack was blocked by a blast of sunlight, causing her to look to the female who had let loose the blast. Narrowing her eyes, the woman lowered her scythe and raised her hand, a series of bloodied spikes rising from the ground. Marceline’s opponent was quickly impaled by one of the spikes before it faded away and another spike rammed itself into her body. Before long, a multitude of spikes pierce upward, through the woman’s body, leaving her impaled and bleeding out before dropping her to the floor.

Anyone else?” Marceline asked, looking to the remaining three Sun Apprentices, to see if they wanted to continue picking a fight with her.

The Sunny Tower of No Return Empty Re: The Sunny Tower of No Return

Post by Yazuki Yoshino 22nd February 2017, 7:12 pm

Yazuki mind wandered as she finally reached him, wondering how she had fully affected him since their first meeting, and astonishingly enough, it seemed to be nothing but positive. She had met him at the climax of his mental repair, as he was just finally accepting things, and maybe even becoming a little too callous. However, she had humbled him by her curious nature, he presence demanded his attention whether she wanted it that way or not. She was an enigma that he wanted to solve, a labyrinth to transverse, a mountain to climb... She was a truth to accept. He said nothing as she stood next to him at the door, him naturally breaking the door in, getting rid of the barricade behind it. The footsteps had all of a sudden stopped running, stopping in shock at what they heard. Marceline disappeared into the room in a rather peculiar fashion, so he did the same to the next level. He was sure the lady of death could handle a small bit of men and women on her own and might have been accustomed to it, as she was accustomed to taking life as a normality when she was doing her duty for Death. He wondered how often she got to deal with individuals like him, as he wanted to make her feel like she had someone who would stick around. He couldn't care less if he slowly died while being at her side, he wanted her to feel like someone didn't fear to stand beside her, to laugh with her, to enjoy her company, and to even share in simple activities. The latter actually saddened him a bit, as he realized people probably didn't do activities with her much due to her nature, thus she may never have had such pleasantries in her life. Yazuki's rage flared slightly due to what he had been thinking about. Surely, he would have to remedy that some time.

As he traveled on the electrons in the air to the next floor before she began and as they were just entering the room to meet their fate at the hands of the lady of death and despair, he landed with a sound of thunder, bringing 5 individuals who looked stronger than the ones downstairs. Their robes also appeared to be slightly different. His face was a straight up scowl when he landed, upset about what his mind had led him to. His now black and green eyes looked over them each, his eyebrows slanted, and his face more sinister than normal with the demon horn tribals. The entirety of his look was contradictory right now, as he was dressed similarly to Raijin, the God of thunder and lightning, though he looked much less orcish, but his face being demonic and sinister. If his attitude had been different, he wouldn't look nearly as bad, but he was now in a foul mood. At the slightest twitch from the first one, he received a kick to the face, almost within a blink of an eye, not having the time to react to the thunder infused kick, which was followed by him punching the ground with Awe, having his body contorted in the air still as it collided, his head near the ground and his feet near the sky. He used Awe's shock wave, setting the entire floor rumbling and shaking, the stones vibrating as he realized a fatal mistake. This might not have been the best idea, as they were in a building, and now it may very well collapse. Luckily, it was just violent enough at the moment to shake the floor, causing them to feel like an earthquake had hit the tower. He had to admire their handy work, this tower wasn't going to fall over easy. As the kick had sent the other one flying, he used the momentum of the punch to land back on his feet, sending 2 bolts of lightning towards the one he had kicked, taking up his usual stance which would maximize his fluid movements in battle.

As one of them staggered over to him, they infused their fist and attempted to hit him, but the shaking made it easy for him to block the attack, simply pushing his arm off to the side then shocking him with an orb of lightning surrounding his fist. Melee was his dominance, but his magic made it more threatening. He turned just in time to see a spell hit his robes, knocking him back with a little bit of force and causing him to be disoriented for a moment, by which time the ground had quit shaking. He looked up with an evil look on his face as he say the eyes of his attacker, one of the individuals rushing to his left side to receive and open palm to the stomach, lightning dancing around the targets body has he collapsed to the ground The two that he had injured thus far were beside him, one paralyzed and one ready to attack as lightning started to gather in his mouth. His arms began to ripple with an intense lightning that was brighter than normal as he pushed his arms down, exploding the area and creating a whole in the floor as he fell to the level below him, landing not far from Marceline. He blinked, looking around at the dead she had already created, the lightning in his mouth still building as the Apprentices of the Sun started to jump down the whole, the three remaining ones that could move, stupidly at once. He let loose his Rage, shooting it directly towards the hole and hitting the remaining mobile Apprentices. Once again he started collecting Lightning in his mouth, this time for his Bent rage, as the initiates tried shaking off the stun caused to them. Their bodies were now burned well from the thunder slayer, causing their movements to become more painful, and even as one hit Yazuki with an infused fist, it seemed weaker than it should. The man flew back and hit the wall from a jolt of lightning that appeared from Yazuki's robes, causing him to fall to the ground, dead. Two of the 5 now lie dead, one upstairs paralyzed, leaving only two of the 5 in front of them. He looked over at Marceline, acknowledging her death count with a smile and a laugh.

"Not fair, yours were easier," he joked, his smile broadening. While he had been requested for this job, she was actually right. This job might have been too much on his own.

    CLAWED MY WAY TO VICTORY

The two men and one woman began to slowly back away from the Savage Skull Guild Master, their eyes wide and their minds certain they wouldn’t make it out alive. She ran her tongue over her sharp canines and across her bottom lip, mimicking a lick of deliciousness as she watched her prey back away. Red optics studied them closely, taking into account each of their actions to see which one would be the brave enough one to attack her. Her eyes darted over to the left, observing as the youngest of the males braced himself and raised his fists into a fighting stance. Marceline smirked at him, letting him come forward from the trio, so that he stood protectively in front of them, but still at a distance. “You dink you hafe a chance against mich?” she asked, tilting her head slightly to the right as she questioned the apprentice Sun magus. “Why. . . dat’s quite adorable, to dink dat you hafe any sort of chance against ze likes of mich. . . do you know who I am by any chance?

She took a daunting step toward the Sun magus, who took a step back toward his classmates, but still seemed ready to take her on. “You back away from a challenge?” Marceline questioned, noticing how the young man had kept his distance from her like the others. “But. . . don’t you vish zu be ze one who protects eferyone? Who safes the tower from ze harm of dose who vant zu hurt you?” The smile only grew slier as she approached him, forcing him farther and farther into his other two allies, who were also trying to get away from her. It was entertaining to see just how fearful people could be of Death, and it was quite clear in their actions they weren’t ready to die. Life would have told her to let them go, but for once, she decided to disobey the voice of Life and take that which belonged to her. “I ask again, little children, do you know who I am?” her voice broke through the silence, her steps coming to a stop as she looked them over.

Marcy raised her hand against and shifted her wrist, so that it was out in front of her, and drew in Nether toward her body. From the deaths of the two previous Sun magi, the air was clogged with Nether particles, which couldn’t be seen to the naked eye. However, as she was attuned to Death, herself, Marceline was able to see each and every black fleck like it was as clear as day to her. And so, the Nether clumped toward her, balling up into an orb at her palm as she decided what she wanted to do with the remaining three. She clicked her tongue and looked around, giving the Sun apprentices time to run if they really wanted to keep themselves alive. Yet, none of the three made a move to hide from her or to get away from their impending death; they stood tall and proud. “You surprise me,” she stated to them, “that you vish zu stay here vid your comrades und avait ze death dat you all know ist coming.

Perish,” the woman declared, raising her hand until it was directly level with the heads of the three pupils, the invisible Nether wrapping around their heads. Each one of the apprentices keeled over, gripping at their stomachs and crying out in pain as they fought whatever was going on in their heads. Then, one student took their hand and faced it toward them, letting off a blast of fire that burnt their flesh and killed them instantly. Another greenhorn did the same, and the last of the three apprentices fired off a blast of sunlight that killed themselves as well. Marceline watched as each one of the students’ lifeless bodies fell to their knees and collapsed onto the floor in a heap of flesh and bones. Her expression showed nonchalant feelings, but deep down, she felt victorious over the ones who were disobeying her orders to die. Now, the fresh smell of burning flesh filled the air with such a sickening smell, but it didn’t bother her in the least bit.

Yazuki’s voice broke through her thought process and she turned her head to glance toward the lightning magus with mild curiosity. Her eyes then fell back down to the three magi that were dead in front of her, to the one that was impaled on spikes, and the other that was in pieces. She hadn’t really been thinking what she was doing; everything felt so fluid to her that she hadn’t thought to stop herself. It was like her mind was of its own, thinking and doing things that she would not have done had she had the consciousness to do so. All five of the magi were dead, not a single one of them had made it through the fight against Death, and that’s just how things went. “I am ze end of all dings,” she murmured, turning her gaze away from the people that she had killed, people who were innocent. Marceline briefly smiled when she looked at Yazuki, then turned away from him and headed through the corridor opposite to the one they came through.

Dey all had names und families, you know,” Marcy spoke up in a solemn tone of voice, reflecting over what she had done. “Dey were innocent people, who decided dat it vas best zu go up against Death und try zu see if dey could survive Its vishes.” Her steps were oddly graceful, so graceful and fluid that she appeared to be knowing what she was doing and where she was going. “Eferyone has a name und a family, efen you hafe a name und a family, und I know each und eferyone of your family members.” She had not met all of them, herself, but Death knew every living being on the planet, from the ones freshly born to the ones closing in on Death. “You lofe dem, ja? Continue zu lofe dem, dat ist all I hafe to say, for dey may not be here long vid you on dis cursed place. . .” The smile had drawn out across her lips again, but it wasn’t something that was visible to Yazuki since she was now in front of him.

He listened to her words, but something in him felt strange as he heard them. The truths she spoke didn't fill him with sorrow, rather an acceptance that he already knew these facts. Death knew all, saw all, and ended all. Her dark words neither grabbed his attention fully or made him despair, as the truth was not something to dislike. Instead Raijin had spoke to him after hearing her words and gave him exactly what to say. He didn't quite understand what he meant, as the God was not there, he could only hear him in his head. He looked up, wishing the lightning god could actually communicate with him while allowing him to do the same, however Raijin Rarely spoke. That is the beauty of death. The acceptance of life's gifts. There is no need to dread such a beautiful acceptance. He pondered these words, wondering why the lightning god was, first watching, and second communicating with him still, as if he had taken interest that would not leave any time soon. The orcish looking god was the only other being he had met, next to Marceline that had interested him in the same way. He looked over at Marceline and repeated the words aloud.

"That is the beauty of death. Time is so fragile, as death is to receive Life's gifts. There is no reason to dread such a beautiful acceptance." He thought on the words he had repeated with his own little additive, and heard a grunt of approval in his head, and a sort of echoing feeling in his head subsided, signaling the god had taken his leave. This was the first time since their meeting that he had figured out that this was Raijin's way of keeping him informed, and wondered what the god would tell him in the future, and why he was helping out yet still. "Though I do love them, just I am not in contact. They believe me dead, and I believe it may be best for now that they don't know. It's not something I am willing to face yet as I don't go by Yazuki to anyone but you at the moment. Others do not know my name as such, but rather a as the same name of a God who speaks to me."

As they climbed the steps to higher levels, the Initiates that ran into them and who graced their presence seemed to flee at Marceline's aura, the walls still decaying as she walked beside Yazuki, whom the aura bothered, but he would never show it. He could withstand it, and now that he knew how to at least last long enough within it, he was accustomed to not letting her see it as he healed himself with yet another spell, infusing his fist away from her with lightning and quickly touching that side with it to transfer the heal, which was enough to keep him sustained for now. Upon reaching the 25th floor, though, there was a door at which they had to go through that was lined with gold trimming and adorned extravagantly. The only way to go higher, was to go through it. Behind the door could be felt a presence that was more powerful than any other in the tower, save maybe Marceline or Yazuki. Yazuki had to admit that at this moment, Marceline was the scariest thing in this place. As they walked through the door, A man in elegant robes of red and white, with a bright golden sun embroidered on the chest stood from what appeared to be a throne, a sure sign of his ego and status, which instantly put a distaste in Yazuki's mouth. He rushed forward towards the man, having sent a simple bolt of lightning forward towards him, only to have him stand there as it seemed to hit the air in front of him like it was shielded. Yazuki froze, realizing this was no mere acolyte, but a man of intense power as the man raised his hand to send a bolt of sunlight at him, which hit Yazuki hard in the chest, knocking him back against the wall and causing him to slump on the ground for a moment, disorienting him. This man had magic that was more potent than he realized. Again, had Marceline not been here, he was sure this was not a fight he could have won on his own. He was glad for a moment that she had come, and was thankful for his luck.

    CLAWED MY WAY TO VICTORY

In a way, Yazuki was right with his words; Death was not something to despise, but something to embrace with just how beautiful it was. There was something about Death that made it beautiful, that made watching those ready to pass on give their last breath to the Earthland. Marceline gave a small nod of her head, the smile gracing her lips once more as she picked up the edges of her cloak to walk along the staircase. Death wasn’t something to fear or to hate, Death was something to enjoy and embrace, just as one embraced their current life. It was nice to hear those words coming from Yazuki, but the words he spoke, they didn’t feel like they were his words when she heard them. They were too wise, too full of peace and wisdom, that it made her feel they were coming from another source other than him. “Tell ze who spoke dose words dat I appreciate his kindness,” she stated, as though she was well aware of who had said them.

You are right, however,” she added, “vidout Life, dere vould be no Death und vidout Death, dere vould be no Life zu continue ze cycle.” She paused in her tracks for a moment, staring down upon the steps she stood on, thinking over her words before saying them. “Death ist not ze opposite of Life, but rader, it ist a part of Life; you cannot hafe one ding vidout ze oder vhen it comes zu Life und Death. Und besides, no one ist efer truly dead until ze ripples dey hafe caused in ze world hafe died avay, demselfes. . . keep dat in mind.” Marceline pressed onward, passing each door that led from one floor to the next and so on and so forth to the fiftieth level of the tower. There was so much to grasp when it came to Death, but when she looked to the opposite of the spectrum, there was so much to grasp when it came to Life as well. They were two pieces connected to each other, where one could not survive without the other as efficiently or at all as it would with the other.

The voice in her head, it was gone now, gone since the day she had taken the eternal life of her own father and became Death, itself. And while she had hated everything about him, from the very love he gave to her that wasn’t as unconditional as he said it was to the commands he forced her to do, she missed him. He was a wise one, he was there when she needed the guidance that let her footsteps fall into the correct places and never stray from the path. But without him here now, she found herself fumbling and stumbling over her footsteps, trying to find the place she belonged. All her life, her father allowed her to believe she was as perfect as the next thing, that she needn’t change anything about herself. Yet, here she was now, standing in a tower, trying to grasp all of the wrong things that led her astray as to who she truly was. It was in this moment that she searched for the guidance he would give her in such a time as now, but found nothing was there.

Der Tod macht du mehr klug, aber warum fühle Ich nicht es?” she inquired to herself, though her voice was still quite audible to others. Whether another person was capable of understanding what she said or not, it would be a question that would go unanswered the way she wished it to be answered. She studied the ground as they wandered the flight of stairs that felt like a spiraling staircase never ending and just circling on and on. Nor had she said anymore words after what she had spoken to herself, but kept the silence that now filled the air to the brim. Her gaze eventually wandered to the ground to look over her shoulder at Yazuki, though still no words came from her mouth. Soon, she turned her gaze back to ahead of herself, watching as the flight of stairs seemed to just continue up and up the tower. It was a tiring act climbing the stairs to get where they needed to be, but it was nice they did not have to stop and end more lives.

They eventually came upon an elaborate door, one that was embroidered with strange designs and lined with bits of gold like the sun. Pushing the door open, Marceline would come to find a beautiful throne stationed just at the back of the room with marbled floor and painted walls. A man sat upon the throne in the back, one leg crossed precisely over the other, one hand resting against his head to support it. He eerily watched the duo enter the room, disturbing whatever lesson was going on and causing the acolytes to flee from the room. Marceline kept eye contact with him as she entered the vast area, her aura scratching and eating away at the floors and the walls. The man stood to his feet, as though he was about to greet them, when Yazuki rushed forward to plant a blast of lightning into his stomach. “Oferzealous child,” Marceline remarked, watching as the man’s bolt of lightning crashed into a blockade around the Archmage of the Sun,

Raising her hands, the woman gathered the Nether particles in the air and brought them in toward her aura and around her. It would be then that her aura was significantly reduced to half of the size that it had once been and Yazuki would find that where he walked, things broke. What he touched would quickly wither and die away, and those who entered the premises near him would keel over and cry in pain. A trickle of Nether particles would also befall him, sticking to his flesh and pulsating with a light glow that would make them visible. He would begin to feel invigorated, like he could get up and fight again until the last drop of blood had left his body. If need be, she would step in and help him, but for now, Marceline wished to see how he would fair against a magus as strong as the Archmage. “Go, my acolyte,” she stated, waving him off to fight the man that stood towering on the steps of the throne before them.

"A friend of mine lives in the heavens and has blessed me with his knowledge, though he wants me to say it instead. I am but an aspect of him, nothing more, and can't begin to fathom why he takes such interest. I cannot communicate with him, but he heard what you said, I am sure," He had replied before all the fighting ad taken place.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He stood up after being enhanced with what he could only believe to be part of Marceline's aura. He tried using his forked lightning again to see if what she had done would work, merging with one of the bolts to appear above the man in the robes. The lightning struck true and Yazuki took his chance. With Shock, he prepared and open palmed strike which connected, paralyzing the man and making him fall to the ground. The man's eyes widened as he spasmed. Punching his fists together, two lightning infused obsidian blades formed as he began to slice at his opponent who now lay on the ground, helpless due to his Shocking Grasp from his weapon. The aura that Marceline had provided slowly decayed the man as the assault continued, one blow after another, Shocking him with 4 weaker bolts of lightning in the process to make it all the worse. The man was stunned and paralyzed, completely at his mercy, and would not be able to continue living. He continued to slice at him until his form was all but lifeless as lightning gathered in his mouth. He let loose his Rage, not yelling it out like normal but instead just letting it fly loose, engulfing the man, who now was covered in electrical burns, decaying slowly. He stopped, looking up at Marceline. Her aura around him felt.... different. He didn't know how to describe the feeling, but the aura definitely made him feel more invigorated and more able. He realized they still had a bit of a climb to go, so he took off in the form of a bolt up the steps, looking for the girl they had come for.

"It's time to go home kid," he stated. Upon reaching Marceline again, he explained he would take the child home and bid her farewell as to insure the kids return. He would speak on her behalf of being there unless she followed, but the woman was still a mystery. One that he wanted to solve, and one that even Raijin was starting to speak him words to say because of. Before, it was pure curiosity about this woman. Now it was more than curiosity, he wanted to know why the god who backed him even had him say what he had him say. He would take the girl back to her parents, making sure she was safe and collecting his dues. The dues are not what he had gone for in the first place however, it was to see if Marceline would indeed come, and he had not been disappointed. The journey back to his canyon was quick, as he wanted to get home and wash up. The day had left him exhausted, but at least the next time he saw death, it would be more interesting. He looked at himself in the reflection of the tarn, contemplating why Raijin had made such comments when the man rarely talked.
