Primary Magic: Sansevieria
Secondary Magic: -
Caster or Holder: Caster
The magic that is wielded by Thorn allows her to manipulate plants and trees, especially those of a poisonous variety. The effects of her magic can be as varied as plants in nature for she is able to control and manipulate them all. She speaks to the plants and calls them her kin. Using the knowledge gained from them she had learned to use them in battle to defend both herself and them in times of need. Her link with plants is so strong that she herself can be classed as one and is able to generate various seeds to grow her own plants when none are available.
Strengths:
- Versatile: As it can generate various plants it has great versatility
- Good at weakening opponents
- Highly suitable for 'traps'
Weaknesses:
- Fire
- Excessive amounts of water
- Antidotes
- Cutting based magic
Abilities/Powers:
- Qui Saltus: Due to being part plant in areas of dense forest Thorn gains a 20% increase to her physical statistics as well as her mental processing speed.
- Ego Sum Ligno: Her blood is sap and thus is not able to be manipulated by blood mages. However, this has a secondary effect and that is to allow her to talk to any plants at all and hear their words back for she is one with them. This allows her to identify any plants instantly by speaking to them.
- Occulta Domina: Whilst within plants or vegetation of any kind the user can focus and their skin, hair clothing and the like will change so that she blends in almost perfectly. However, she can only move very slowly whilst this is in effect or the effect is lost. Furthermore, mages of two ranks above her will easily see through this, whilst those of one rank above (with a bit of strain or improved senses) will be able to at least get a rough idea of where the user is this can not be used in battle.
- Toxicus immunitas: She has a much higher resistance to poison than most wizards and witches. This resistance gives her a 25% resistance to poisons of her ranks, 10% of the rank above, 5% two ranks above and nothing for any rank above that.
- Growth - It is a Magic which allows the caster to create and control rapid-growing plants to battle. These plants are grown with various properties unlike regular ones. As plants are a main element in this Magic, the caster can summon anything, from vegetables to large carnivorous creatures that are able to suck up anything within 30 feet including people.
- D rank:
- Laportea Canadensis (Wood Nettle ):
Type: Offensive Signature
Description: The user is able to freely extend small wooden spikes from their finger tips increasing their unarmed melee damage by 5hp. However, they are also able to fire off these spikes doing their rank in melee damage. These have a range of 50ft and cover that in a second.
Duration- NA
Cooldown - NA
Strengths:- Increases melee damage
- Gives her a ranged weapon for free
Weaknesses:- Linear direction
- Can be easily blocked with a D rank barrier
- Makes her fingers more flammable
- Increases melee damage
- Borago officinalis (Starflower):
Type: Light
Description: Thorn opens her hand and from it tiny glowing spores rise and begin to float in the air dancing as if stirred by a gentle breeze, even if summoned in a hurricane. There are approximately twenty of these spores and they can be freely manipulated by Thorn within a 30ft area and each illuminates a 1ft area. The only offensive use this can provide is to aim the small spores into the eye of a target which can cause temporary 50% blindness for a single post. This however is only effective on D ranks. On higher ranks its can cause a mere irritation and distraction.
Strengths:- Can illuminate the area, particularly useful in darkness.
- Blinds opponents when aimed at the eye
- Covers a large area
Weaknesses:- The effect of this spell is halved in daylight
- Doesn't do any actual damage
- makes caster stand out
- Blindness only effects D ranks
Duration: 3 posts
Cooldown 4 posts- Can illuminate the area, particularly useful in darkness.
- Caesalpinia (Bird of Paradise):
Type: Plant
Description: Thorn focuses and a magic seal forms upon her back before four thin leaves upon her back. These leaves are shaped like the wings of a fairy and can indeed be used for flight. The wings have a total wingspan of four feet making her a larger target, but because she can fly she can stay out of the way of opponents. The wings however only allow her to fly as fast as she would normally be able to run. However, being wings of leaf they are susceptible to two elements: fire and water. Fire will destroy the wings and water will prevent her from flying as it dampens the wings.
The wings also have a secondary purpose. Once per post she can generate a D rank gust of wind to blow away opponents, mists and the like.
Strengths:- Able to fly
- Keep thorn out of range of enemies
- Able to use the wings to generate a D rank gust of wind to blow stuff away
Weaknesses:- Can only carry one person
- Wings are flammable and thus can be destroyed with a single D rank fire spell.
- Can only fly as fast as she can run
- Can't fly when wet
Duration: 3 posts
Cooldown 4 posts- Able to fly
- Photosynthesis:
Type: Plant
Description: Whilst this is active the user is able to absorb energy from light in order to restore both MP and HP over a duration. Whilst active and during daylight the user will restore 4% HP and MP for the duration. However, this is reduced to 2% if at night or if a shaded area. In dense fog this is reduced to 0.
This also works for light based magic allowing her to absorb 10hp from light spells launched at themselves. This will restore MP by 4% and cancel out 10hp of the damage. So to a D rank (normally 20hp) this would reduce it to 10hp.
Strengths:- Can be used to restore HP and MP
- Good defense against light users
Weaknesses:- Less effective at night
- Can be cancelled out by dense fog
- Doesn't stop all damage
Duration: 3 posts
Cooldown 4 posts- Can be used to restore HP and MP
- Natura Rete(Nature's Net):
Type: Plant
Description: The user manipulates and lengthens their hair freely forming it into a powerful weapon for the duration. Essentially with this she can length her hair up to 10ft in length and harden it into spikes like wood. These will do D rank melee damage on contact. However, whilst this is active her hair becomes highly flammable. Can also be used to bind the opponent. However, a C rank would easily break out of this binding so it is more suited for a quick trip.
Strengths:- Can be used for dramatic effect
- Extra weapon
Weaknesses:- Makes her more flammable. Her hair will catch a light with a single D rank.
- Can be easily broken by a C rank mage
- Low damage
Duration: 3 posts
Cooldown: 4 posts- Can be used for dramatic effect
- C rank:
- Aucuba japonica (Spotted Laurel):
Type: Plant
Description:
The use of this technique is to form a seed of the plant known as Aucuba japonica and use her magic to allow this to grow into an actual plant. This plant will essentially act as a natural turret which will target all people she deems as enemies that come within a range of 100ft of it. This fires off five thorns at a time and has two 'barrages'. This plant can easily be destroyed by a B rank spell or C rank if fire based. It will require 1 B ranks of water damage to destroy it however.
The effect of the poison is as a debuff. It will infect a person's system and reduce their stats. This reduces D rank mages by 3% for each thorn they are hit with(or 30% if hit with all of them), C rank mages by 2% for each thorn they are hit with (for a maximum of 20%) and 1% for each thorn on B ranks(maximum of 10%). Should they be hit with part of the poison on one post and part of the poison on another post the duration of the poison does not increase, but the effect of the poison does. The poison does not effect A ranks and above at all.
The damage the thorns do 4hp for each thorn that is hit.
Strengths:- Good trap
- Good for weakning an opponent
Weaknesses:- Can be easily blocked by C rank barriers
- Highly susceptible to fire damage
- Shots do quite low damage
Duration: 3 posts or until shots fired
Poison duration: 3 posts
Cooldown 6 posts – 1 post for each post of duration left (minimum cooldown 4 posts)- Good trap
- Gloriosa Superba (Glory Lily):
Type: Distraction
Description: Thorn uses the plants around her and they start to move and dance in a peculiar, slightly entrancing fashion, even allowing them to move away from their original position albeit at a slow pace. This is designed to distract opponents in order to allow Thorn to escape or deal damage with a different spell. It can also be used as an entertainment for others if needed.
Whilst this is mostly used for distraction or entertainment purposes it can also be utilised as a defence by making a plant dance in the way of an attack. Thorn can make two plants move fully and at 60mph move the plants to attack. Each plant will do a 20hp damage if they hit. Once they have hit a single time they will go into defence but can only take 40hp each before disappearing.
Strengths:- Entertaining
Weaknesses:- Fire damage counts double on these.
- Can only make plants dance within 100ft of her.
- Can be ignored
Duration: 5 post
Cooldown 6 posts- Entertaining
- Rubens(Briar):
Type: Plant
Description: The user focuses and all around them for a radius of 50ft forms a briar patch of 2ft long thorns. These thorns will stab into targets doing 5hp damage for every post they remain within its radius (and are on the ground). The briar patch will move with the user and they can choose whether or not it will effect allies. This patch can be manipulated by the user in such a way as to extend the length of it in one direction to 100ft, though this would remove it from every other direction. They can also do inbetween amounts, such as taking 50ft from one side and adding 20ft to one side and 15ft to the other two sides. This can be manipulated via PARTHENOCISSUS QUINQUEFOLIA.
Strengths:- Good area of effectd
- Crowd Control
Weaknesses:- Flammable
- Could damage allies
- Doesn't effect flying targets
Duration: 4 posts
Cooldown 5 posts- Good area of effectd
- Cerasus flores (Cherry Blossom):
Type: Plant
Description: With this the user twirls their hands and around them form 60 beautiful cherry blossom leaves in vivid pink. These leaves however are as deadly as they are pretty and are razor sharp. Essentially, if these are touched by anyone other than the user they will do one hp damage and vanish. Without even thinking these will circle the user constantly forming a kind of armour. The user is however able to fling these off within 50ft of them(and bring them back if they miss) which it will cover in a second. However, these are not just leaft shuriken. The user can manipulate these into various shapes combining numerous leaves and then if that combined item strikes a target it will vanish but do the combined damage of all of the petals used.
Strengths:- Good defense
- Looks beautiful, but this is a trap
Weaknesses:- Each leaf is very weak
- Can be blocked easily by D rank barriers
- Leaves disappear instantly on touch except by the user
Duration: 3 posts
Cooldown 4 posts- Good defense
- B rank:
- Ecaballium:
Type: Plant
Description: With this the user gathers up liquid in their mouth and spits it out as a bullet of purple liquid that rapidly expands from being about the size of a small grape seed to 5ft in radius by the time it reaches its max range of 100ft. It increases to 1ft after 20ft and increased by 1ft every 20ft. IT reaches its maximum range in a second.
When this hits a target it coats it in deadly acid that will burn the target for three posts. The damage of the initial impact is determined by the size of the sphere. For every 20ft the bullet flies it increases by 8hp (so maxing out at 40hp). The acid itself will do 10hp every post so at maximum this could do 80hp damage. The acid can be washed away with a C rank water spell.
Strengths:- Damage over time
- Increasing power
Weaknesses:- Quite weak if it hits the target at close range
- Can be eaten by poison slayers
- Linear direction
- Can be washed away with a C rank water spell.
Duration:4 posts
Cooldown6 posts- Damage over time
- Summus saccharo(Sugar High):
Type: Plant
Description: The user infuses the sap within their body with a large amount of natural sugar. This essentially hyper activates her muscles allowing for them to temporarily act at a much higher rate. Essentially, whilst this is active she will gain a 50% increase in physical movement speed and agility allowing for her to move faster and dodge better. This is on top of any other speed boosts she has. This also prevents her feeling pain and allows her to process things at an accelerated rate.
Strengths:- Increases the users speed dramatically
Weaknesses:- Only effects speed
- Only effects self
- Makes her a tad hyperactive. Its impossible for her to stay still
Duration: 5 posts
Cooldown 7 posts- Increases the users speed dramatically
- Aquifolia (Holly):
Type: Plant
Description: From the ground plants begin to grow around the user intertwining around them rapidly until they have formed a solid armor made of spiked wood and spiked leaves. This can be manipulated into various shapes for impressive and scary looking armour. This armour gives them a high resistance to magic and physical damage. Damage is essentially reduced by 25hp whilst the armour is active. This damage is done to the armour instead. Physical attacks against the user will also result in the attacker receiving 10hp damage. The user is able to manipulate this armour with Parthenocissus Quinquefolia.
Furthermore, due to the spiked nature of the armour the user gains extra damage when attacking with melee attacks. This essentially adds 30hp to melee blows.
This armour however is easily broken through by fire spells, which will potentially ignite the armour. Fire spells will do double damage to the armour and only 10hp damage will be blocked (so if the spell would normally do 40hp damage then it would increase damage to 80hp and then 10hp would be reduced from this and done to the armour. So the user would receive 70hp damage and the armour 10hp). Water spells will do slightly less damage and the damage reduction is increased to 35hp and this damage is done to the armour itself.
The armour has 120hp.
Strengths:- Spiked armour defends user
- Increases melee damage
Weaknesses:- Double damage from fire spells
- Damage increase is only for melee spells
- Could get snagged on things
- Isn't exactly subtle
Duration: 4 posts
Cooldown 5 posts- Spiked armour defends user
- Radix desperationis(Root of Despair):
Type: Plant
Description: This can be activated upon striking the user with a physical attack or merely touching them (by physical attack this can include her hair extended via Nature's Net or her limbs extended by Virginia creeper). When they are touched they will feel a strange surge of energy and will be left with four marks on the area touched. This will essentially drop strength and speed by 40%. However, at the end of each post a mark will disappear and the stat decrease will drop by 10% (so after one post it will be 30%, then after two it will be 20%, then after three it will be 10% and after four it will no longer be in effect).
However, this debuff is not the only effect of this magic. What also occurs is that the user gets buffed by the same amount the target is currently debuffed.
Strengths:- Buffs user
- Debuffs opponent
Weaknesses:- Buff and debuff decreases over time
- Has to touch target for this to work
- If the debuff is somehow healed then the buff will also be removed
Duration: 4 posts
Cooldown 6 posts- Buffs user
- A rank:
- Parthenocissus Quinquefolia (Virginia Creeper ):
Type: Plant Signatue
Description:
Thorn create and manipulate a wooden appendage which functions as an extension of her arm. This is freely flexible and can be used to grab, constrict, and stab a target or can be used as a defensive measure.
Thorn is able to manipulate five wooden appendages at once. If a single appendage is being manipulated then it functions as a weapon that will do 60hp damage. If all five are manipulated then this damage is divided between them
Strengths:- Can Sweep people off balance
- Can Use it to hold people in place
Weaknesses:- Limited range
- Can only manipulate five appendages at a time though this will divide the power between them
- Can be blocked by A rank barriers
- Can Sweep people off balance
- Prunus virginiana(Chokecherry):
Type: Plant
Description:
With this spell Thorn can cast a poisonous cloud with a 100 feet radius. This will cause all mage's who inhale it to start coughing. However, the spells effects are much more obvious on A ranks and below. On A ranks it will cause them to choke and cough to such an extent that they can barely move. S ranks will have difficultly moving at a normal rate due not being able to see. S ranks and above will only cough and it won't effect movement. B ranks and below on the other hand choke to such an extent that they are barely able to move. Those caught in the fog will receive 12hp per post. Thus if they remained in the fog for the full eight posts they would receive 96hp damage.
This spell can be cast in one of two ways. The first is that she can directly exhale the poison from her mouth to generate the cloud. The second is much more interesting and trap based effect. She forms a seed filled with the poison which she uses to grow a small plant. This plant looks innocent enough, but as soon as someone with at least D rank magic power, who Thorn doesn't deem an ally, comes within 20ft of it the flower will spew out the toxic cloud. This plant will last two posts and can be destroyed by 2 A rank spells
Thorn is able to inhale the fog once more and redeploy it later providing it is within the duration. the fog will not last more than 8 posts even if it is in Thorns mouth for three posts.
This poison is highly explosive such that a C rank fire spell is enough to cause it to detonate doing 60hp damage to everyone caught inside it including the user are they present. For each rank above C of the fire spell this damage is increased by 10hp.
Strengths:- Sight is obscured no matter the rank
- Thorn is unaffected by the lack of vision
- Can be used to prevent her opponents moving
Weaknesses:- Explosion could hurt her
- Can easily be blown away by a B rank air spell
- No effect on S ranks and above
- Will effect allies as well as enemies
Duration: Plant will last 4 posts, poison cloud will last 8
Cooldown 10 post cooldown- Sight is obscured no matter the rank
- Rhamnus (Buckthorn):
Type: Plant
Description: This technique allows Thorn to turn her nails into claws made of wood. These claws are three inches long and they all secrete a poison. This poison is a mild toxin that causes those inflicted to feel nauseous and even to throw up if hit enough times (1 for C and below, 2 for B, 3 strikes for A, 5 for S). The claws enhance her physical attack power by 50hp when using them for an attack e.g. claw strike. The poison has no effect on H rank mages.
This nausea will last three posts and if this reaches the level of making them feel 'sick' then they will receive 10hp damage for each post. However, even if they are hit for the 'sick' amount on the third post this will not increase the duration, merely the effect for that post.
Strengths:- Increases physical attack power
- Makes opponents nauseous
Weaknesses:- Easily blocked by A rank barriers
- Makes her hands more susceptible to fire based attacks
- Not suitable for long range
- Not suitable for fighting against real weapons e.g. swords
Poison Duration: 3 posts
Duration:6 posts
Cooldown7 posts- Increases physical attack power
- Tempus Vernum(Spring Time):
Type: Plant
Description: The user pumps extra sap into their body. This essentially enhances the muscles efficiency(as well as expanding them slightly) allowing the user to lift much heavier objects and hit much harder. Essentially, whilst this is active she will gain a 60% increase in physical movement strength allowing for her to hit a lot harder as well as providing a 20% resistance to physical damage. It also allows her to temporarily lift and throw objects up to 100 times her own weight. Objects thrown will do the user's current unarmed melee damage + 60%(so the strength bonus for this spell)if they hit something. The object hit will also receive the same damage. This stacks with other strength boosts provided by herself or other magic. As another side effect the user is able to jump much higher and further due to their strength.
Strengths:- Increases the users strength dramatically
Weaknesses:- Only effects strength
- Only effects self
- If it runs out whilst she's lifting something heavy she could be crushed
Duration: 6 posts
Cooldown 8 posts- Increases the users strength dramatically
- Dionaea muscipula (Venus' Fly Trap):
Type: Plant
Description: Thorn summons a Venus fly trap around the opponent closing them in the plant, the outside is covered with spikes and the inside is so sticky its difficult to move for the duration. This allows Thorn to escape or to attack whilst they are stuck. This sticky muscus has now evolved to be acidic and will digest those trapped within. This acid is enough to do 22hp damage per post.
The spikes on the outside are razor sharp so physical attacks that hit it (attempting to break it) will inflict the attacker with 5 hp damage.
Strengths:- Traps anyone A rank and lower easily
Weaknesses:- Can not hold S ranks and above
- The plant can be destroyed by two A rank spells or one if fire based
Duration: 4 posts
Cooldown: 6 posts- Traps anyone A rank and lower easily
- impianto Machine Gun (Machine Gun Plant):
Type: Plant
Description: Thorn fires small 12 bullets of highly corrosive sap at a very rapid rate from the fingertips of her left arm. It is strong enough to break even bones 12hp damage per pellet. These have a range of 100m which they cover in a second.
Strengths:- could hit more than one person if in close primacy of the attending target
Weaknesses:- Easily dodged
- Can be easily blocked by an A rank sheild
Duration: 4 posts
Cooldown: 6 posts- could hit more than one person if in close primacy of the attending target
Combined two C rank slots from this to get B rank slot
Used one C rank slot from this
Split S rank slot into two A rank slots.
