Today's job had not been easy to get her new mentee to go on with her. Aiyana had taken this job for the pure intention of taking Sophia out and spending some time with her on a job. The woman had a tragic past involving working with others, having accidentally guild a team member in the past before running to Pharaoh's Call for help with all of it. And then there was the accident even more recently, being on the alchemy magic user's latest job she had been on. Something had gone wrong and explosives had gone off in a way that could not have been known to the mage in question. It was not her fault those people had died, and not even Aiyana Shuer would hold those ones against her. That would be like one holding her accountable for a death in one of her past jobs, where a single dodge to stay alive had resulted in the man attacking her dying right after it.

”Sophia, feel free to talk to me all you want along the way. Do not bottle up anything with me, I am here to help!” The woman wanted her to be comfortable around her, even if they were going on a job!

So, a job was it? Something about demons was all she was told, and that was why she was at least perked to a point she'd want to go. Demons were not human, their lives did not matter as much, but they were still lives in general. She had only heard rumors or myths about the demons of earthland. Apparently many of the demons started from a land called Sin, and traveled to Fiore. Which was okay, but to Sophia this meant the target's life was not put on as much weight as an ordinary human. Since... well the last job she went on, she ended up claiming five more lives, and mortally injuring a sixth just to bring them into custody. Though, the sixth was on purpose when she used kinetic energy to shred their hands, and knees. The first five were deaths caused by her emp triggering all of the explosive devices. It was an emotional day, as she also lost control of her own thoughts just to drive a lightning bolt through an entire mine to get to the target. All her planning, all the careful tricks she wanted to do went to waste that day. After all, it goes to show that no one can prepare for everything while everyone can prepare for something. In other words, it wasn't her planning, but the random X-variable that caused the deaths. At least on that day, she had learned of something new about electrical magical pulses.

Telling her guildmates no that she didn't want to go on a job as a team was one thing. However how does one exactly say no to the guild master, and the woman that had mentioned she wanted to take Sophia in as a mentor. Today was a rather stressful day for the young alchemist whom was [s]forced[/s] talked into coming along for a job. While it was good in practice and theory, that her partner was classified as many ranks above her own, chances of harming her partner were slim to none, though that didn't stop Sophia whom was too busy staring at the ground while walking along side of Aiyana from all the stress...all the worry, and most importantly, all the fear.

Though she was told to not bottle things up, what did that mean? Did Aiyana want her to open up, go crying again like she did the day she arrived half beaten, starved from her own depression, and in tears that she had killed a partner of hers? The emotional wreck Sophia was in that day was quite a big one, but on that token, she did not see much reason to do that very same thing again. Bottling up her emotions were the best thing she felt she could do. Not to be heard, not to be worried about, and just left to die. That was the way she wanted to go. Yet some reason people refused to let that happen. Was this what true friendship was? Great... another bond to worry about.

Still being as formal as always with Aiyana, Sophia finally opened her mouth to speak "Thank you Mrs. Shuer, I will keep that in mind." In her mind, she'd agree and try to let Aiyana know what bothered her but yet how could she? How could she tell Aiyana that she was worried that she would kill her accidentally? Sure the thought sounded ridiculous, sure the possibility to even scratch Aiyana was practically zero, but did Sophia know that? Could she comprehend that? The person she once killed was a dear friend, one that had a mile of experience ahead of her too. One that she never thought possible to hurt. Yet... she did. "Mrs. Shuer, I realize you're here to help me, just like the day you told me you would mentor me. However, I wouldn't even know how to begin expressing what I normally bottle up anyways". For one though, her first thing she always bottled up was her lack of full control when she doesn't use a lot of magic. Right now, her magical pool was above the normal mage's amount for her rank classification. In fact, what would normally be called max(100%), was only 2/3rds for her, and she was above that. When that happened, her magic tended to 'spark' from her body. Like a battery that was overcharged, it leaked.

Her emotion and feelings towards that exact topic was why the moment a small spark of electricity jumped from her left hand to travel upwards into her shoulder before vanishing had made her look down and sigh. A spark that she didn't want to cause, nor was able to control. Had some non-mage been touching her at the time, it had enough power to really hurt them, at least send them back as if they just drove a knife into an electrical socket.

Luckily though Sophia's attention had been altered to the surroundings first. The air was already growing thick, the stench of a vile magic was almost suffocating. They were defiantly nearing the start of this job. "Can you promise me that you forgive me if I cause you any harm" This time, her words meant 'if I accidentally kill you', since she could not argue that Aiyana was here, she wanted to protest it but she absolutely knew she would not be able to at all. In fact, it'd almost be a waste of time to question Aiyana's logic, as one doesn't exactly have the authority to question the guild master.

    A Demon's Call Empty Re: A Demon's Call

    Post by Cr1tikal 27th August 2016, 12:26 am

The Pharaoh's Call guild mate with her, and her current mentee, was always so formal with her. While it was nice the first few times, at least her position as guild master being recognized by somebody other than those of her home world and a few others, it was starting to become something to dislike; almost as if being distanced by the use of it. Later on she would have to let her know she could relax more around her, but for now she had to keep her attention on replying to what Sophia was actually saying to her rather than thinking about future conversations. ”That is okay Sophia, just say whatever comes to mind, and if I am sure that over time you will feel more comfortable around me and be able to speak more on what you normally do not speak of. It may not be today, nor tomorrow, but there is always a chance for change.” The words were from experience, Aiyana's life over the last few years had gone from high to low and then repeated an absurd amount of times. From running away from home, to losing her original body, and then the entirety of the drama with her parents that still only Mao knew the exact details about. If anything, Aiyana was a good person to go to when depressed and down in life; she understood the situations people could find themselves in.

The woman had noticed the spark, but did not realize that it was caused due to a lack of control. As one that had used a multitude of magics since becoming a mage, the woman was used to seeing random displays of magic when out of combat, for nothing but casual passing of time or personal amusement; sometimes even as an attempt to cheer themselves up. The sigh and looking down did not connect with Aiyana and her normally positive attitude on everything, though it was a bad thing in this case, but there was plenty of time left in the day for her to have a sudden realization.

It was as they began to draw closer to their intended location for the job inside of Hargeon town that her job partner asked for a promise, one that did not come to a surprise to the nine tailed fox celestial spirit. ”Forgive? It will not even be upset. I have faith in you, and fully believe we'll come out of this with more knowledge and learning more than injuries.” Her words were chipper, happy, and a slight bit excited at the thought of going into the unknown.

Their job today was to go into a strange door, a door unearthed after the monster that had invaded it in recent times; destroying a majority of the port town while also bringing forth a new vigor to the people that decided to rebuild alongside Lamia Scale that resided with them. According to the job information,  a group of people had stolen a precious item from a wealthy citizen. This man of fortune was wanting his item back, and was asking around the guilds for anyone that would go in and get it back for him by any means necessary.

It would not be much longer until they arrived at the door. Walking up to it one could feel a power seeping out, something inhuman was behind those doors. ”Well! This seems to be the right place! Let's head on in and see what we can do!” There were no second thoughts, no worries about a possibility of failure. There was only a drive to succeed, to have fun, and to help the woman that was with her grow more confident in herself and her abilities.

    Spoiler:

A nod of acknowledgment towards Aiyana's words was all Sophia gave at first, her composer was already lacking a fair amount by now. The worry she had not just for those around her, but for herself as she felt the energy spike inside her body. How long could she contain it before a jolt of lightning would be sent out? She had to use a lot of magical energy just to tame this, and right now that wasn't exactly possible to do without wasting energy or worse, getting someone hurt.

"Thank you for understanding. It means a lot. I just worry is all... don't want another repeat of what happened before I joined this lovely guild". Just by her words alone, the tone of her voice deepened as if she wanted to cry just from the constant flashbacks she received because of it, and yet she didn't. Instead her stride of movement seemed to pick up as her attention was pulled to another direction. The 'door' they were supposed to go inside of. It wasn't exactly a rush job, but Sophia had picked up on something that perhaps Aiyana had not. The dark energy did seep through but there was more to it than just that. There were claw marks on the outside of the door. A closer inspection lead Sophia to believe this creature or demon that lurked near was fairly large in size, no doubt impossible to fit through the door but someone had opened it and they reached an arm through.

"Judging from these claw marks, on a scientific scale, I'd estimate what ever made them had to be at least twenty to thirty feet tall. Looks like they only got a hand through the door before someone closed it. Judging from this, they cannot open the door from that side, perhaps only we can? Must be something to prevent what ever is on the other side from opening it or perhaps discovering it while closed." Still inspecting the marks, Sophia nodded at her own conclusion before looking back towards the door.

"Agreed, lets head in" she spoke, holding out a hand towards the door, strictly for cosmetic sake as her mind dipped into the magical pool "Requip: Bolt of Zeus" her words half murmured, but still loud enough for Aiyana to hear as a lightning bolt like spear seemed to appear in Sophia's hand. The electrical discharge from her own body seemed to be drawn towards this much more frequent now, as it was a signature spell, one of her spells that required no magical energy to even maintain it.

"I have no clue what'll be on the other side, but if it is as inhuman as the stench of this magic, this will be one time I wont have any remorse for a kill" her words showed hostility towards such a vile evil as a second requip was activated, this time her armor of the gods requip. The armor itself seemed to be made of a near white metal, the shimmer of light was only brief as the magical energy was controlled to prevent such a cosmetic attraction for long. The armor looked fairly light, almost medium in terms of an rpg look, and no helmet to follow, but the armor possessed the symbol of Zeus on the front and back, with multiple lightning bolts all around it etched in with a strange runic design. Immediately, her range of energy has already been highly boosted just with these two requip alone. "I'm ready when ever you are"

    A Demon's Call Empty Re: A Demon's Call

    Post by Cr1tikal 4th September 2016, 8:30 pm

Aiyana Shuer knew just how worried the other girl was. Her voice and body gave away so much of her attitude that it almost dropped her own mood in the process. The fact that she was here to try and help was the only thing that managed to keep her in a good mood, one of the helpful friend and mentor, while also providing a shoulder to lean on if, and when, Sophia decided she could do so with her. Alas, upon arriving and mentioning that they were here the alchemist mage seemed to begin to study the door intently, going on about things she could see on it using science.

Science was something that interested Aiyana highly, a surprise to many that found out. Most thought she was just a ditzy slut that was more cleavage and butt rather than brains when it was, in fact, in equal parts. The woman was a bred leader, after all, and her people had been a high tech civilization before the world had been ruined in an attempt at a genocide that another race had started. The vixen would look to the claw marks as the origins of them were theorized, a theory that would end up being proven true once they managed to make their way inside. Beings that dwarfed the two of them in height, and had claws strong enough to scratch this magical door, were not something that the normal person should be messing with. But the two of them were mages, and good ones at that. While Sophia was still growing in power, being compared to up and coming mages, Aiyana would put in a bracket that was hard to find. Only a few more she had met were her equals thus far, and each day she was improving herself and her magic to become even stronger. In fact, the woman could not help but think that helping her guild member with her issue could help with on of her own. If she could help someone break through an issue then she could break through any of her own as well!

The other woman was right about the door, as well as about the magic aura that flooded out from it. It felt...dirty, evil...wrong. The woman almost spoke up at the talk about killing, but if the magic was a factor than they were probably walking into something that held no remorse or pity for the two mages on this job. Aiyana noticed that her mentee had summoned armor and a weapon, feeling magic being used to do so made it obvious it was requip style items. Aiyana's armor, which was simply held within the celestial realm until needed, would appear around her as she nodded her head to Sparky's words. ”Here goes nothing!” She would say before walking forward to find herself in a completely new realm.

There was no natural sunlight here, meaning her favorite weapon would not be able to use any special features other than being a triad of weapons mixed to be usable for any occasion. Crystals that sparkled with an inner glow could be seen all around, making them the main source of light for this place, while other objects lit the area as one looked around. Braziers with large dancing flames lit vast spaces while candles were strewn about randomly as if to light the corners that could not be reached. Plants seemed to feed off of the false lights provided them, gaining the same glow as the crystals did. It was as Aiyana's eyes adjusted to the strange light that she noticed something dark jumping at the edges of her vision, from shadow to shadow, as if avoiding her while at the same time figuring out what the intruder was here for.

As she looked around the young woman noticed a large stream of water, which was also glowing. It was annoying how much in this place that glowed with an inner light, it made it feel odd. There were other streams, equally spread apart from each other yet seeming to all head in the same direction. ”All right. So I have a bad feeling about the things leaping around. I can not get a good look at them, they are moving too quick. Though it looks like the streams here all go to the same location. Maybe if we follow them we can find what we are looking for and then we can get out of here.” While she was not one hundred percent sure about the last part, it was a start. It did not seem that there was anything on the other side of the door, a large wall seemed to go off in both directions making their path quite linear. At worst they would find out what there were looking for was in one or the other direction. That was, if those directions were not infinite. Anything was possible in this unknown land!

    A Demon's Call Empty Re: A Demon's Call

Post by Meisa Suzume 6th September 2016, 2:17 pm

An empty void of stale air, dim light, and the overgrowing presence of something 'dark' lurking around. Could one truly prepare for the unknown? Stepping into the doorway behind Aiyana made Sophia's heart almost skip a beat. The energy alchemist had zero time to plan and that was something she was not used to. This area wasn't exactly 'lets plan this out now that we are here' kind of material. It in fact was one that made Sophia quite on edge. Her worry turned to being on guard. Her eyes seemed to widen just a little, and her muscles tensed up with each step forward she completed.

At first, she had entered with the intent to fight but with what was near them now was an enemy that lurked within the shadows and unlit areas of the room...or what ever they were even in. Her reaction to use her UAV Pulse spell was on point but the moment electrical energy discharged from both hands before turning invisible made her eyes wince, and a frown appear on her face. "strange" she only could utter the single word in response to Aiyana's words. "My sensory spell couldn't detect any life. Seems what ever is in here, is immune to such a spell. Almost like they do not have a physical form, or are moving too fast for it to even work" which was actually the neither, due to Sophia's sensory spell being based on the normal realm, anything was possible in the realm of the demons after all. Currently, with her combinaiton of spells, her sensory spell would have hit 300 meters, but sadly, all she got with it was as if the entire room... didn't even exist. As if the realm reacted differently to electronic pulses. Was this room void of electrical based energy, or completely removed it? No... cause she was still able to use electricity yet this still confused her.

Resorting to agreeing with Aiyana's choice to follow one of the streams was the best bet for now. She did have the most experience in the field after all. Though Sophia was not about to go in without some form of defense, and just a touch of the soil was enough. Dirt, earth, crystals, they all possessed fragments, sand particles of metal. Just a few seconds and Sophia had collected enough for her spell to be activated. Though she was slightly upset the magnetism she used felt weaker, nearly uncontrolled at first as a jolt of lightning sparked from her left hand. "Right, I agree. However, do we go as quiet as possible... or go loud? Since we are no doubt already known to every filthy creature within the area" she finally spoke up however as she spoke the last words a rather loud yet rough growl could be heard, as if what ever was listening had taken offence to Sophia's words and began to charge from the shadows. However despite the sound of something charging, Sophia finally stood up with a slight smile, and at first glance one probably could not see what she just did, but now she had currently many new opportunities due to iron sand being in the area under her immediate control.

Though the iron sand barrier was already raised in front by the time Sophia saw the beast it was almost too late. A single swing of the gigantic(weak level) demon had swiped it's tree trunk sized arm forward knocking a large chunk of the iron sand away almost flawlessly without any trouble.  "shit" she uttered, as her move had only slowed it down, not able to fully stop it due to the quick ambush. What was more, was the lurking speed demon was somewhere around too.

    A Demon's Call Empty Re: A Demon's Call

    Post by Cr1tikal 17th September 2016, 1:51 am

So none of their usual ways to notice people, or any type of being, were effective here in this strange, new, world. It was an interesting thing, being blind to something they knew was out there. Whether they were too fast, or were beyond their own comprehension, was unknown to the two. All they could do was shrug it off and try to go out into the place and find whatever object they were here to recover. Surely it would be in the direction of all of the water, it must be. A place where that much water gathered together was sure to be where a leader of any kind would set up shop.

Moving on, Sophia would agree with her, but ask about how they should go about it. The other mage's words seemed to set off the denizens of the realm, becoming hostile, as a large being showed up from the shadows. The single creature decided to target her mentee and, with a single swipe, managed to burst straight through the shield that the female had put into place. A single expletive would have been heard, humorous in any other situation, that made Aiyana realize just how bad of an event that it was for her. Aiyana was going to help, she really way, but something she saw out of the corner of her eye made her turn in that direction.

It was a good thing she did, as another creature was barreling straight for her. While not as big as the one after the Energy Alchemist, this one was MUCH faster. Before the nine tailed fox could really respond to it she was finding herself being forced to teleport a little bit to avoid a swipe that had been coming for her throat. ”Memory! Summon something strong! Does not matter which!” The words would be said quickly as Aiyana dodged another attack as her pet did what it did best; summoning. Drawing from its master's mind, she brought forth the first one to pop up and brought it into the physical realm of the living. What no one had expected was to see the celestial spirit of the fox that had originally swapped her body!

Aiyana paused in surprise, though she should not have been surprised at all, and so did the demon that had been coming after her again. Unsure as to what was actually going on, the fox spirit now summoned instantly went on the offensive and swung low at the enemy looking at her. The attack nailed in the exact spot that a male would find most painful; right in the dick. Whether there was something like that on this creature was not for certain, but the summons were powerful in their own right, the creature dropping to the ground and seeming to melt into nothingness before her. ”Uh..good job Foxy, nice one punch knock out...” Words would be said as she looked over to Sophia, hoping she was all right now that she was free to help if needed.

Post by Meisa Suzume 18th September 2016, 5:44 am

Not only did the demons have both strength, and by the apparent sound of a demon in the distance closing in towards Aiyana faster than Sophia could keep track of, they also had speed. Yet this wasn't all, their intelligence wasn't primitive, this much was clear by them splitting up, and attacking both simultaneously. However, Sophia could not focus on the intellectual part of the fight. Instead, she had to focus on the hulking being staring her down, the one that was slowed down by her iron sand defense. The claw that had struck past it now ripped through the air striking at her torso, reaching her second defensive measure, the kinetic energy redirection technique. A barrier spell that once the demon's hand came within the barrier, it was sent outwards, pushing the demon's arm to the side to give Sophia enough breathing room to reform her iron sand back to her location.

This breathing room was short lived as the hulking creature swiped again, this time iron sand met the creature's torso, and pierced right through it. Turning it into a melted pile of black oooze. This being done about the same time Aiyana's fox delivered it's killing blow to the speed demon. Except this kill wasn't as flawless, and that would be apparent by the now piercing scream Sophia gave off, as she stumbled to the floor. She had not been strong enough to block the second attack so easily, and huge claw marks were easily shown where they ripped past her godly armor by the shoulder blade. The white gold metal now stained with a crimson hue, as the warm liquid flowed from her body, threatening to bleed out from such a deep wound if not treated. Though she, like any demi-god was already starting to heal.

and heal it didn't as that seemed to be another effect of the dimension. A god's power was limited here, unlike Aiyana who was a celestial spirit, Sophia was a demi-god and her magic was more apt towards such. A magic that was threatened in such a realm. This prevented her from healing herself, though the magical aura she gave off showed she was trying to heal. Even her electrical simulation spell had taken effect, super charging the bloodcells in her body, forcing rapid natural healing, one that any creature possessed, this healing was not stopped as it wasn't due to such a godly power, but the power of science. The power of alchemy. "I... I can't heal like normal" she spoke, grasping the wound in pain, she had suffered one hell of a strike, but this one was different. One that made her mind wake up to the fact that she needed to not worry about holding back here. It was a life or death moment, and if she were to hold back, she would die.

What she saw when the nine tailed fox looked over a the energy alchemist was not pretty. The beautiful white and gold armor now had a new color added to it, the red of the blood that was leaking out of a wound she had acquired from the beast. ”Shit!” The single expletive would leave the vixen's mouth with a tone of worry added to it as she ran over to her mentee and did what she thought was the best thing she could do in the given situation; heal. Making sure that her aura's that she used with her magic were disabled, not wanting to eat away all of the other girl's magic power by mistake, the woman would raise a hand up as a fiery snowball appeared inside of her grasp. The ball had smiley faces on each side, and the cold object would be smacked into the wound without worry for her own safety in the process of touching the woman. The cold object was a healing spell she had practiced a few times, but never needed to use in an emergency. It would be very cold and burn at the same time, but it actually healed the body and wounds instead of injuring the one hit with it.

”All right, we will have to make sure you do not take too many hits like that for the rest of the job. Let's take it slow, take out enemies as they come to us, and make sure to use your magic for what you got. Don't worry about me, I'm sure we'll both be fine with you using everything at your disposal.” The words were an attempt at cheering up the lady she was working with while the snowball did its job. If anything she could use her own body to take a hit for her when there was no way for Sophia to be able to dodge or block an attack coming at her next time.

    A Demon's Call Empty Re: A Demon's Call

Post by Meisa Suzume 29th October 2016, 3:52 pm

A sigh finally escaped her lips. The wound was clogging at the very least, something that was at least what she was grateful for. If it couldn't fully heal within this realm, at least it didn't cause her the stress of a potential wound that'd cause her to bleed out or become light headed from the blood loss. While yes it was annoying to have received a wound, she was not about to let this one wound cause her to be treated like a child by her mentor.

"I appologize Mrs. Shuer" she finally spoke up. Her godly armor having recasted itself, and repairing the damage done to it, as well as fixing up the blood stain it had. From the outside, it looked as if Sophia had sustained no damage, except from the trickles of blood that flowed down her arm from the wound. However what took her by surprise was that her mentor was healing her, and the magic actually worked. The healing spell seemed to do the trick to the point Sophia had zero worries about the injury at all. Though if anything was learned in that engagement was that yes she could heal, but she was far from being able to tap into any true godly power when it came to this place.

"I hesitated to use my full strength because you were around, I don't wish to cause any harm to those I care for. I hope you forgive me" her words were soothing to herself as the iron sand began to build back up around the pair. The kinetic and electrical energies doing their work, waiting to be used to the fullest. Though what did worry Sophia was that it wasn't just that she hesitated, but the fact that demon was able to break through not just the sand defense, but her kinetic shield, and her godly armor. Three layers of defense, and in fact that was a strange sensation to her. Once she primed all of her defense, she was not used to taking such wounds like that.

"I've got an idea" she whispered, walking over to the water source they were going to follow. A hand was placed just on the tip, barely breaking the water at all before it seemed the water itself had lost some of the quanity it had. Bubbles began to rise up as She was charging up her water to Hydrogen gas spell for what was a lengthy time, making sure to pay attention to her surroundings. Only after what seemed like five minutes when by, the amount of water was lower, but the air down the tunnel would have been filled with hydrogen gas at this point. Iron sand created a wall between this and the duo before Sophia spoke out the word "Incinerate" she muttered, pressing her thumb hard against her middle finger, sliding to cause that slight friction causing a snapping sound as flames traveled from her hand through a hole in the iron sand wall, and into the tunnel. The sand would close back up nearly instantly as a loud eruption of flames traveled a large length of the tunnel. the range, and area effected all had been altered many pieces of her magic, and it was evident by a loud pain filled screech that it had hit at least one target.

”No, do not apologize. You did nothing wrong against me, but you need to not hold back. Not here at least. I can't protect both of us with this many enemies around, and I can't react fast enough to keep you from being hit again. I know you're worried about me, but I'm sure you noticed I made physical contact and I am perfectly fine. Do what you need here, and trust me to understand the volatile nature of the magic you use.”

The woman would stop and listen as the other woman told her that she had an idea. The nine tailed fox would watch carefully as Sophia used her magic to do something to the water to that caused bubbles of some type to be released into the air around the water. A handful of minutes would go by as the fox featured woman watched the water levels drop before her mentee brought up a protective barrier of iron sand and said a simple word; incinerate. The iron sand surrounded them as the explosive sounds of the fire that erupted throughout the cavern raged out. The unholy screams of what seemed to be a demon, or five, came through the noise until there was an eerie silence. ”Good job Sophia, that seems to have worked. Once you drop this shield we can follow the rivers and see if we can find whoever is in charge and get the item we came here for.” With luck they would not have to do too much from this point on. If it was just walking for a bit, dealing with the leader of these parts for the item, and then leaving she would be perfectly happy with today. After all, the person she was mentoring seemed to have learned a small lesson that would make a larger impact on her in the future.

"Thank you", words escaping Sophia's lips before a smile appeared on her face. The praise from her mentor seemed to leave a lasting effect on the young alchemy mage, leaving her to feel a lot better about her magic and how she just used it. Though when asked to remove the barrier, she no longer could easily break it down as the intense blast had melted a large deal of the barrier together. While trying to use the magnetic energy to separate it, it became apparent that it was not going to budge like that.

"heat melts metal sand into a solid wall, right then..." While she was annoyed, and even in her words she sounded annoyed about the now not able to be removed metal wall. Most of her spells being unable to break past that metal wall as they are typical blast based spells. What was more was she had ensured nothing can get through before she had ignited, so the wall was deeply embedded in the rocks. She could use a variety of spells to quickly break past it too, especially her kinetic spells, but it'd be a taxing mana cost at that point.

Though one other idea presented itself when Sophia began to touch the ground near the melted iron sand wall. She began by creating new iron sand around the edges until it made the wall loose enough to be pushed over and on to the ground, as well as giving her at least some new iron sand to work with as she began to traverse down the river, allowing herself to take the lead since she did not want to worry about behind herself, knowing full well her mentor could easily take on anything that came from behind, and in the worst case scenarios, still be able to take on what was in front.

"I'll never get used to that smell" Sophia spoke, having gotten close enough to some of the demon corpses she had made from that fire combination spell. The smell of burnt or burning flesh, as some of them or patches of the area was still on fire. In fact, even the ground was fairly warm to the touch, even past her armor.

The small bit of praise seemed to help Sophia, at least by putting a smile upon the girl's face. That was good, it was progress of some kind on the person that had issue with using their magic in general. The nine tailed fox would listen to her mumble annoyed words as she seemed to be trying to get them out. Something had gone wrong, and from what Sophia said it was because the massive explosion had melted the iron sand into a single piece of solid material. The Pharaoh’s Call guild master could have easily teleported the two of them right out of the spot, her magic easily allowed for something so simple, but why waste a good chance for her student to figure it out instead? It was not long until a solution was found and the two began to follow the river down to where they seemed to be converging.

It was a few moments later that the other girl would speak up, complaining about a smell. It was then that Aiyana remembered she didn't have to breathe, and with that her sense of smell had gone unused for the entirety of their time here. A simple sniff would give her the answer she was looking for; Sophia was talking about the burnt bodies of the creatures that had gotten caught in the blast done earlier. ”Yeah, that's a smell no one should have to deal with ever. Makes me glad I can just stop breathing completely and avoid smelling when needed.” The rest of the trip would be quiet, from the two mages in a strange new world, until they got to a point where the rivers seemed to converge into a place they had to walk single file to enter. Aiyana would go first, for safety reasons, and would find herself in a giant chamber. Drums could be heard all around, hundreds of demons all along the walls as they did so. Some looked like the ones they had already fought, while others were tiny ones that would have been considered cute in a safer place. In the middle of this chamber, you ask? A six foot tall being, that looked to be of demonic origins. He looked important, though that would be something determined later on when she actually started talking. ”We are here to retrieve a precious item that has been stolen. We will leave peacefully should this occur.” Of course the vixen would go for a diplomatic solution, she had no want to actually kill anything if she could avoid it.

”This item is staying in my possession. I will not allow you to take it. Though, you may take of the water and leave peacefully instead. This water grants the gift of life to those that die, no matter the reason for it. You can use it one time, but surely that is an even trade for not getting a small item of no value to those outside of this realm?” The words rang in her head, no actual words spoken, as it seemed like a million voices spoke at once. It made her feel funny, so much going at once, but was able to understand the pleasant tone.

”Sorry, but we're tasked for bringing that item back. There's no choice for us here other than to get it and bring it back. Thanks for the offer, but I still offer mine to you.” A denial to his, and a last chance at a peaceful solution made by her.

The demon would take a step forward as it drew an unholy looking sword before its voice rang out in her head, or maybe both of their heads, again. ”It seems we are at an impasse here, unfortunately. And for that I only have one choice, to kill you and the one with you. No hard feelings, just doing business.” It was with those words that the final battle would begin. Aiyana and Sophia were going to have to defeat this demon looking thing and get the item off of his corpse if they were to complete this job successfully. Though maybe they could take some of the water after. After all, being able to bring someone back from the dead was quite the nifty thing to be able to do!

    A Demon's Call Empty Re: A Demon's Call

Post by Meisa Suzume 12th December 2016, 1:49 am

A sigh escaped her lips, listening to her mentor. No longer needing to breath? That could be fun, but boring at the same time. She herself possessed demi-god traits, but was still mortal by all means, and required air. "Makes making love so much more fun I bet" a playful tease as she kept walking down the long corridor with her mentor, only to wind up finally arriving at the spot they needed to go. Of course, Aiyana had tried the diplomatic approach, but Sophia was already geared up for war. Her armor of the gods, and bolt of Zeus were already fully charged, not to mention she had been preparing her alchemy focus for awhile now, just waiting for the right moment to strike.

"Shame, you should have listened to my mentor, you might have survived today"

Her words may have stung or may have just pissed the demon boss off further, whom had just been threatened by Aiyana as well. Though who would deliver the killing blow, hard to say, but if anything, Sophia was at least going to get her shot in. Though not before mocking the creature by picking up a small pebble. "You know, it will only take this pebble too. Hey, maybe they will pass stories down the generations about this pebble. The holy pebble of demon slaying. Almighty as it is small. Perhaps it is going to be one day, called an artifact". Though as mocking as it was, she was not wrong in one aspect. The pebble was going to be doing some major damage. In fact, it had already been strengthened beyond imagination of a simple pebble. Her ascended form was already activated too(50%mp sacrificed), but yet it had charged the pebble. Her body had began to pool a white and yellow energy into the pebble. Already, the pebble was stronger than a C-class spell, and in fact, due to her ascended form and alchemy focus currently amplifying it as well, it rivaled even stronger than that. In fact, the amount of magic Sophia was compiling into this spell, almost caused her to re-open the wound that Aiyana had healed.

"don't blink" She spoke, hurling the pebble forward, expelling the magic outwards, causing cracks of electricity to escape her body as she did such. The pebble was coated in a fine layer of magical energy as it zipped forward at a blinding speed of 90mph, which given the close range to the demon boss, they had little time to react before it impaled right through them, leaving quite the hole in the center, but not yet enough to kill them, but it was enough to floor them while Aiyana finished them off with what ever means. Behind the demon, where the pebble had impacted, would have left a crater in the wall, not too big but it was very narrow and deep considering the object used.

Though the moment Sophia had actually used that combination, her godly armor and zeus bolt had vanished, as well as the faint white glow around her. Her ascended form was deactivated, and it was more than apparent that her wound wasn't opened, but she had suffered some internal damage. Enough to make her drop to her knees and cough up some blood. "This wreched place wont let me heal on my own. I think it is because I have god magic in me"

    A Demon's Call Empty Re: A Demon's Call

    Post by Cr1tikal 21st December 2016, 2:53 am

Just as Aiyana was preparing to fight, intent on teleporting directly into the demon and blowing his magic power to nothing, Sophia would speak up and say some words of her owns. Aiyana had felt the magical power building up, though she had been too focused on her own words and those of the demon inside of their head to realize who had been the one doing all of the channeling at the time. After words were spoken, and Sophia told the demon not to blink, the pebble would suddenly hurtle towards, and through, the demon before Sophia dropped to her knees to cough up blood. Even as that happened, seeing that the demon was attempting to get up after the hit, the woman would teleport with a non-offensive one before striking her khopesh's sharp side into the neck of the thing. The head would roll, and the demon disappeared shortly after. The feeling that it wasn't quite completely dead rolled in the back of her mind even as she ran to her student that had learned in just the single mission.

"Good job, but let's get you out of here so that your body can actually heal." There was only so much she could do for the girl, her magic was not focuses on supportive spells and healing like some mage's had. A small teleport would drag the two of them to the item, which she would pick up, before teleporting to the water. Strangely enough there were two vials already filled with the strange fluid that flowed through the rivers; a water of life of some kind. "I'm going to teleport us to the door and we are going to walk out of here and never come back. It's too dangerous for you right now, and now that they know how dangerous we can be they won't be so intent on sitting around play musical instruments if we ever show back up again." The nine tailed fox would teleport them again to bring them to the door that would lead them back to the port town of Hargeon. Once through all the guild master had to do was take the item back to the man in question. That would be done after she ensured that Sophia healed up completely and the two's magical power was fully restored after relaxing for a while in the port town. Turning in the item would result in quite the happy man, one that would pay the guild master better than he had intended due to bringing out someone so powerful to do such a simple job for him. The pharaoh would explain how dangerous the job had really been, and the danger it had put her student in, before the two would leave and head back to the guild hall to do whatever they wanted until the next job either of them went on.
