Job Requirements: Pull the kids out of the whirlpools before they're sucked in and thrown too who knows where! A sea monster approaches with his pack of spawn, a mighty Leviathan intent on having more than one spiraling child for lunch. 5 wizards max allowed on this mission / job.
Job Location: Whirlpool Sea
Job Description:
An amusement park ship has gone down near a series of whirlpools! About fifty kids are being thrashed around in the water in circles, helpless! A birthday party gone wrong; the boat was filled with just about every magical form of entertainment for kids one could imagine. The parents that rented the boat are nowhere too be found, presumably lost at sea or thrown in some random direction to wash up on the shore. A summon, presumably from one of the few adults on board, has reached the shore and informed the guilds of the situation. Missions were hastily posted up within the same hour in just about every town; half of the kids are probably passed out, spiraling helplessly. To make matters worse...a mighty Leviathan has spotted the kids, and is headed directly for them! You can make out the amusement ship, tipped up out of the water like the titanic on it's way down...slowly. The ferris wheel is sideways, sticking out into the ocean, as the mighty lights upon it blink on and off as the ship looses power. Destroy the Leviathan and its pack of spawn while also rescuing the children trapped in the whirlpools best you can!
(What town the kids are from, and were picked up from, by the Amusement Park Ship are up too you! More details are indeed up too you as well, such as company name, etc. etc.)
Enemies:
Weak: Leviathan Spawn x10 (B-ranked)
About fifteen feet long, these snakes with fins both sides of their face and sharp teeth are miniature versions of their mighty poppa. They slither through the water quickly, more quickly in fact than the mighty Leviathan itself due to its massive size. They'll attempt to get to the kids quickly, and snatch them up whist they're helpless in the whirlpools. Weak to Lightning, they'll go down immediately against it, and in two hits of anything above C-Ranked, and in one hit of anything higher than such. They attack with "2 damage die" with their bites. Too small to coil effectively against any B or A ranked mage. Their bites do B-Ranked damage.
Normal: Leviathan Serpent x5 (A-ranked)
Full grown versions of the Leviathan Spawn, about 30 feet in length. These mighty sea serpents will attempt to use their speed underwater to gain an advantage. Similar to the Leviathan Spawn, they're quick, but much stronger. They're able to coil around you. They roll "4 damage die" when attempting to coil. If they do you'll take 2 hits of A-Ranked damage per turn until you can break free. Breaking free is as simple as rolling "4 attack die" and landing at least 3 hits. Their bite does B-Ranked damage. Goes down in 4 hits of B-Ranked damage. They take double damage from Lightning.
Strong: Leviathan's Mates x2 (A-rank)
Huge twin female Leviathan's who are over 60 feet long. They snake through the water at decent speed. They will attempt too ram your vessel, or ram you directly, given the fact that their heads are the size of most walls in a room. Their bites do A-Ranked damage, and S-Ranked if you're caught unaware. Their teeth are like razors easily twenty feet. The girth of their heads, complete with fins on the side is about thirty feet across. They can coil around your ship, and attempt to bring it down into the ocean. If they attempt to do it, roll "6 damage dice" and if they land at least "4 damage die" without missing, your ship is caught. You have 3 posts too deal "10 damage die" too them of at least A-Rank too get them too release or your ship is going under! They take double damage from Lightning.
Boss: The Leviathan (S-rank)
This monstrosity is an underwater behemoth. If he appears it is not good. Stretching over 100ft, he creates underwater shockwaves merely by swimming, whipping his massive body forth like a snake. If it's under B-Ranked damage, forget about it. Leviathan will attempt too ram your vessel over and over again. If he rams your vessel 3 times unabated your vessel well begin too sink, as a hole will likely be punched through it. Roll "1 Damage Die" at the end of every round for the ram attack. You may use magic to attempt to stop this, but you must roll a successful "2 Block Die" too get the opportunity. If you miss one of them, your spell is too slow or whiffs him as he approaches underwater. After five posts of ramming, Leviathan will raise up on the side of your ship; likely towering easily 50 feet above you as he keeps half of his body underwater. Leviathan will then do diving bites on the deck of your ship or towards you and your mode of transportation in an attempt to straight up clench you in his forty foot maw. Leviathan rolls "8 Damage die" for his massive bite attacks when raised up on the side of the ship. Roll "8 Block Die" too see if you can get out of the way. Although your ship will still take damage. After two turns of being raised on the side of the ship, Leviathan dips back underwater, and rams again for 5 turns before raising again and repeating. Leviathan takes a whopping 35 B-ranked hits too take down. Like his spawn and mates, Leviathan has a weakness towards Lightning. The water element will do nothing, Ice Damage is reduced too 25% of its usual potency, as he's swam through the arctic many times long before any of us were around, and at over 100 ft will shatter through ice like candy mostly. The exception to this would be an S-Ranked Ice spell or Ice-Make of extreme magnitude, able too freeze something nearly 200 ft. If this beast appears. Good Luck.
Reward: 45,000 Jewels and Renowned Fame in A Town of Your Choice (The Town the Kids Are From) as well as getting the Magic Council's attention through your heroism.
A notice was sent out to all the guild halls in Fiore that a group of kids went to some amusement park out in the ocean. It was way the hell out there, located in one of the most dangerous seas in the region... For some reason, humans, Lexa included, were attracted to danger. The concept of almost dying gives them all such a rush that they feel euphoric afterwards. "It's not the first time it's happened Lexa." the soft, gentle voice called from two feet away. Lillian was always a treat... she was so soft spoken that the sea breeze had nearly overpowered her. "Figured as much... you'd think that place wouldda been shut down by now..." Lexa replied while looking at a page with a report that showed two other times the ride malfunctioned like this. A commotion was heard coming from the main deck of the ship. A man flew through the door panting and sweating, bent over holding his knees. Lexa stared blankly while waiting for him to stop freaking out. "Miss -panting- Miss Gr-" "Slow down, chill out, and catch your breath. Then open your mouth to speak." Lexa interrupted. "Thank... you." he said between breaths. He took a few breaths and let his heart rate slow down. He then took a deep breath and said "We've got reports that the downed ride's got some movement closing in fast. Even if we leave now, even at max speed we'll barely have enough time. The only good news is we've picked up movement on lacrilite of another vessel and some black line moving towards the objective." his voice had some urgency in it. He passed Lexa a folder with the images from the lacrilite that showed a black line against the ocean, and another vessel indeed. The vessel was pretty damn big, probably as The Sentinel itself according to the measurements. "Someone likes traveling in style..." Lexa said with a leg hinged over the other. "Then again I'm not one to talk..." she said as her eyes darted about the inside of her personally owned vessel. Lexa hopped (literally) off her seat and strolled outside, her engineer from intelligence bay moving the fuck out her way to avoid being shocked to hell and back. Lexa grabbed a small box from the wall and placed it to her mouth. She pressed a button and said firmly "Attention all crew! We're about to set sail so grab your hats, grab your asses, grab your balls and nail 'em to the walls. We've got two possible friendlies already en route, so we ain't gotta worry to much. If they're not-so-friendly we'll just kill them and whatever asshole is dicking around while waitin' for us." the crew responded with a "Aye-sir!" that resonated through the walls and was heard all the way from the houses lining the shipyard. The ship jerked as the engine kicked on and began moving the massive vessel. WC: 482 HONEY BADGERS! |
