Job Requirements: Kill the Dragon King. 400 words per post. 75 post total, as with every other job of certain ranks with little variation or uniqueness.
Job Location: Graveyard Sea
Job Description: A survivor of the attack on Era several years ago to this day has heard of the defeat of Heero at the hands of Acnologia, bringing back troubled memories of tragedy and heartbreak, the survivor has sought out the rumors of the wish-granting devil. Hopeful but doubting, their fantasy became reality as the rumors were true. The wish-granting devil accepted the desire, primordial powers having no influence over the life of another who did not make the pact but instilling the means into the devil herself to bring about the wish.
Knowledge of the Dragon King's movements since it's last sighting at the situation with Heero have provided the opportunity. Now to fulfill the wish.
Kill Acnologia.
Enemies:
ACNOLOGIA
You must roll once each post, per player. One Monster die, and one Number die. Odd or Even numbers paired with the monster die dictate the attack for the post. Each attack is done towards whoever it is currently attacking, the easiest person to hit at the moment, or done in a way to hit as many of the player characters as possible, or is done in response to the actions of the current player's turn.
HP: 5,600 (40 H-ranks)
Death Damage: Death Damage cannot be healed by traditional healing magic and stops HP Regen. Death Damage instantly kills Pets and NPCs that are not resistant or immune to Death damage or are otherwise unliving.
Resistance: Acnologia is resistant to death magic effects by 50% and cannot be subject to mental control or attempts to physically transform him, and ignores attempts to suppress any of his abilities or attacks. Acnologia is resistant to Demon and God slaying, but vulnerable to Dragon slaying.
Weak:
Odd: Rending Claws
Acnologia lashes out with a viscous claw attack that deals 150 damage on hit and can send someone flying on impact. Deals an additional 100 Death Damage from the claws outwards with a series of razor waves of slashing death energy that keep traveling and growing in length for 1 mile at 400mps If Fury is active, this will instead deal damage and Grab them, potentially immobilizing them for 1 post.
Even: Warp Wings
Acnologia beats is powerful wings once and vanishes completely, disappearing to reappear somewhere within the mile. The gale force of his wings stirs up a hurricane force wind that tears across the ocean surface creating fog in the area and sending all who can't resist it flying away up to 500 meters in any direction from the origin. This can knock away projectile effects of S-rank or less. Where Acnologia appears is a burst of black and blue death magic for 500 meters around him, 160 meters per second.
Normal:
Odd: Dragon's Fury
Acnologia's blue markings glow more vibrant and a blue haze surrounds him for the post as he strikes with twice the speed and +50% to all damage dealt. Roll again, ignoring a Normal result. Additional damage applies to both physical and death damage independently.
Even: Dragon's Fervor
Acnologia's blue markings glow more vibrant and a red haze surrounds him for the post as he moves in general twice as fast and resists all damage by 50%. Roll again, ignoring a Normal result. If Acnologia is Slain while Fervor is active, Acnologia will continue to attack in a frenzied death-state for the next three posts before finally dying, roll an additional time for each of these posts.
Strong:
Odd: Crushing Maw
Acnologia strikes with a devastating bite attack with a maw full of black and blue death magic that deals 300 damage and 200 death damage on a hit and can brutally sever limbs and destroy items/objects, ignoring armor or shield effects that function similarly to armor. If the target is Grabbed, they take double damage and this attack cannot miss.
Even: Vital Strike
A blue sheen springs to life around the focus of Acnologia's next attack. The next attack heals Acnologia for twice the damage dealt in total, to all affected by it as blue flames return to Acnologia from it's victims.
Boss:
Odd: Apocalypse Roar
Acnologia gathers blue death magic in his mouth before roaring, sending a torrent of destructive force powering out across the land. Five miles long cone, five miles wide at the end, dealing 700 death damage to all hit, instantly destroying generic objects in the background including the land itself and most buildings. Continue an extra five miles (10 miles wide) where it's damage lowers by 125 per mile.
Even: Dragon Force
For the rest of the fight, Acnologia takes and deals 50% more or less damage by default, further increased by Fury or decreased by Fervor. Roll twice each post per player now instead of once. If Dragon Force comes up again, instead use Apocalypse Roar.
Reward:
Each present for Acnologia's death gain a new passive ability related to one extent or another to your Tertiary that cannot provide a direct advantage in combat.
Eris |
Loud music reverberated through the large room with heavy beats that could be felt pumping through one's body egging on the mood and provoking emotions among the crowd that gathered to dance and connect with people. Over eighty people in this room alone were moving in mass with the rhythm of the music, eighteen more were more interested in the two bars on either side, with Eris herself. Denielle, rather, as she stirred her fragile glass with an olive-adorned toothpick before sipping it and placing it back against the bar, its smooth surface glowing with a blue hue much like most the lighting in this room that was full of blue, purple, pink, and white neon lighting that was careful to produce little actual light keeping the dance floor dimly lit by a cool glow. A faint mist hung in the air coming from the vents around the room in the walls and floors pumping the room full of mood enhancers enforcing the specific atmosphere here. A cool sensual aura, lustful and erotic but more pure and emotional than the hot and heavy red lights of Purgatory two floors below where Denielle sat on her white leather stool watching the humans enjoy the services she had in her establishment. The Velvet Society. She could see it all taking place, the activities in the many VIP areas just as present before her as the dancing figures in the room with her or the bartender who's uniform was specific to the room and accentuated her figure drawing the eyes of the men and women in the room on occasion. There was plenty to look at here in this room alone, wandering eyes had plenty to keep them busy. She paid scant attention to the man at her side as he filled her ear with his stories of self aggrandizement and boastful comments about his stature where he's come from and his reputation, his wealth, how he was in a nearby city on business and had to stop by. The Velvet Society was always full of people coming and going, it was natural that most people did not know who the owner was or that they might actually meet her sitting at a bar watching the events without pomp or ceremony. There were nights for that. She didn't feel like it tonight. As a result, she had men attempting their moves unaware of her, only knowing that a beautiful woman appeared to be alone at the bar with different men taking their shot looking to take her to a private room or back to their hotel, some with more innocent intents but it was hard to keep thoughts innocent here in Euphoria, the floor above the more casual main floor and certainly difficult to avoid one's lust in Purgatory, the floor below where there was more than a little skin on display. It was moments later that something piqued her interest, a cry ringing above the masses. It was nobody present, no one nearby, it was a lone voice praying. To her, a desperate soul straying from their gods to seek out new powers, someone or something that may listen to them. Their soul meant nothing to her, but their wish... Sometimes a wish was its own reward. Please, Sanguinoth, please kill him. He needs to die, please, my parents, my friends, my brothers, kill him. Please, kill him. Tears were streaming down her face, a younger looking girl. She could see her heart, she was in Era when disaster struck years ago. She could see in her desires that recent activities and the public knowledge of Heero and Shuhei's encounter with him, it had sparked memories of him. Please kill Acnologia. The last words faded as the girl passed out, praying from her bed under the moonlight streaming from a window. She meant nothing to Eris. Her troubles were part of the hopelessness of mortality, her existence was small and irrelevant to her. But wishes were powerful tools. The idea twisted at her mind. She had on occasion considered hunting the dragon for her own means, but had never paid serious attention to the thought, she had other things to do. But to grant this wish, would be to give her the insight. The illusive dragon king would be revealed to her. Her wishes could not slay anyone who did not make the wish, but it would give her the means to find him for herself, something that alone was a challenge for most people. It made the prospect of hunting the beast more accessible. It was a pleasing thought to her, the more she thought about it. The more she grew fond of the plan forming in her head. Perhaps her goddaughter would appreciate the gesture, she had grand fantasies of how friendly Eris may or may not have been with her father, but her reasons for taking her in for over a decade were her own. The pact was no small motivation either. Red stood from her stool at the bar with her drink in hand, throwing her head back and draining the crystalline glass of its content and set it back down with a firm clink against the smooth counter. "It has been a pleasure, Jameson was it? Enjoy the rest of your evening." She said as she turned to leave the bar, crossing the room with a brisk stride as the man gathered himself and followed after her, baffled. The moment she rounded the corner in the hall beyond the doors however, she was nowhere to be seen, the intense music and skin-tingling atmosphere disappearing behind her as she stepped into a far away bedroom, appearing in front of an old worn down closet into an old wooden bedroom. The floorboards would surely creak if she stepped on them, but she did not. She hovered effortlessly, her legs partially disappearing into wisps of smoke as she silently drew herself towards the bed. The girl was asleep, but not out of reach. The world around her inverted as though being funneled away leaving Eris to find herself in Era, a vision was on repeat. A great dragon ridden by a mage as a hydra streaked across the sky towards it, the dragon reared its head back and unleashed a torrent of chaotic energy that swept out over the city before the hydra would have made contact with it and the dragon disappeared, flickering she could see into the distance, leaving the hydra to roar and seek it out again as the dragon's master fled with it in tow. The roar of the hydra triggering the scene to start anew, and Eris could watch as the girl's home was split in two before a child's eyes. In an instant her world was gone, all she knew was vaporized. Curling her hand into a fist as though to grab hold of the scene, the beam froze in the air as her form coalesced out of the air. No skeleton, no undead, no demonic horror. Just Eris, taking the form of the mother she had just seen vanish in a beam of destruction. "Mom?" The child's voice cracked as she asked, surprised by the sight of her mother rising from the ashes and emerging from the light of the beam that had killed her. A divergence from the repeating horror that went through her dreams over and over again. Something new, something hopeful. Eris could feel the strong desire overcome the girl, a hope that it was real, that this was happening. "No" Eris said, shaking her head, a crackle of flame flickering in the reflections in her eyes. "You know who I am." She spoke, her mind rolling over the girl's own mental state pulling her out of the haze of her dream. The child shimmering in the air, elongating as it stretched taller to reveal an older girl, the girl who had prayed for her. For the death of the dragon that remained frozen in the air with wide wings blocking out the sun, its jaws wide as it's roar remained paused. "You've really answered my prayer, I've been praying for weeks... I found your name in a book an old man gave me today, he said my prayers would be answered, I just had to say the right words. Have... you come to grant my wish?" She asked with hesitation slowing her voice. Eris did not speak in turn, but held out her palm to the girl. A rune sparked in the air above it, a symbol appearing there, wreathed in smaller writings in the same ancient language, imparting knowledge at a glance to those who looked upon it. Eris had no patience to draw this meeting out longer than it need be. The girl knew what must be done, she knew the price to be payed. Slowly, she made up her mind. She reached for the rune. In a flash of red light the scene was broken, Eris was floating above the bed as the girl stirred in her sleep but continued, expression relaxing from the tension she held before as though she had found some sort of peace. In the other corner of the room another young girl stirred in her own sleep, rubbing her eyes as she sat up in bed and looked at Eris, one leg half off the bed as though she had been getting up to do something when she had seen the figure in the room with them. Her eyes were wide with fear, her heart beating faster. Eris raised a finger to her mouth, a faint shhhh leaving her lips. For an instant, her face disappeared, leaving only a burning skeleton of herself for a flash. The girl's heart skipped a beat, her muscles spasming for a second as she jumped and her head rolled for a second as she passed back out. They were in an orphanage, Eris didn't care to note earlier. She didn't care now either, seeing the palm print burn inside the girl who's wish she had just accepted, Eris's business was done here. |

Could have kept going for longer, but I think I'm running on long enough XD Gotta work towards actually gathering everyone first, and to do that there has to be a reason and a source. I've got the source and the reason, my next post will be to find you guys.
No IC rush at all! Describe what your characters are up to on their own, perhaps set a tone and mindset that would make them accept a stranger's call to go kill a dragon (I wonder if she'd even say who the dragon was, just that it's a dragon...)
No letters, no messages, literally just establish where your characters are and stuff <3 Part of an adventure is establishing the beginnings <3
