“Are you sure it’s here Kinopio?? It seems too good to be true!”

At a hotel in Rose Garden was the female known as Aerwyna Salvatore, she was in the hotel for one main reason: to learn how to cook with the guild member she met at the guild, he was known as Gala. He told her to visit the address that he written out for her and it was only thanks to Kinopio that she was able to arrive to the hotel in the first place since she couldn’t read. She was a bit embarrassed when Kinopio told her that she wasn’t able to read it afterwards.

“Of course I am sure! Who is the one that can read here?! Hmmmm?!”

“You, Kinopio!” The female chuckled as she answered the man. She wasn’t sure that she would cook something all that impressive, but she will try nonetheless to be a decent cook so she can make a decent living with herself and without the help of her father or her army.

“This is the door. Ready to knock??” Kinopio queried as he gazed up to Aerwyna.

“Uhm… yeah sure! Wait… what’s knocking??”

“You can tell you haven’t learnt many words…” Kinopio chuckled softly all the while keeping his croaky voice. “Watch me!” Kinopio demanded as he knocked on the door. “That’s how you knock! Now to wait for Gala to answer…”

“Yeah…”

Aerwyna couldn’t help but gasp when he answered the question as to how he got a place like this. She was rather shocked herself. The only place she has seen which could have been as grand as the area was the castle itself back in the land of the sea. Although the castle WAS elegant, she didn’t like how some of the stuff worked out back in the castle, especially with security. Aerwyna felt much more relaxed here then she did in the palace or at the inn for some strange reason.

Without further ado, Gala gave her a tour of the place. The place really was amazing, she was sure that she was going to have a house as grand and majestic when she was able to. Of course she wasn’t able to at this very moment, but she was very sure that she was going to sometime in the future. It would have to be a place where her family couldn’t find her however.

Finally, Gala took encouraged her to walk towards the screen doors to which she did and loved what she seen. She was greeted to the scene of a pool out of all things! Gala even offered her to have a swim whenever she was around. Although she doesn’t like her mermaid form, she knew that she had to keep her swimming capabilities up to scratch because she was born to swim as a mermaid and not to walk as a human. “Why, thankyou Gala!” She grinned “I will use it every opportunity I get!” She admitted. She then took a look down to Kinopio, who was still in her arms, he also seemed rather satisfied, but he would refuse to speak because he was simply too shy to.

“I guess it’s cooking time??” She queried as she gazed at Gala, tilting her head while retaining the same grin that she withheld just moments ago. Now she couldn’t wait to get started! She wondered what she was going to cook!

Aerwyna smiled softly as his hands guided her through the cutting process, she was happy to rely on someone temporarily. She didn’t want to rely on someone forever, that is probably something that she would have to do if she stayed back at the kingdom. So to rely on someone for a short while so she can learn skills for survival basically is always a good idea. She didn’t always want to show off her mermaid form so it wouldn’t make sense if she hunted in the sea and then returned to land all wet and such 24/7, it would make a few people very suspicious. That, and the fact that it would be easier for the army to pick her up and take her home is never a good thing to encounter.

Upon being shown one more motion to cut something called celery, the mermaid princess was left to it and she tried her best to copy what Gala shown her. Unfortunately, while she was trying to do such a thing, she panicked slightly and she cut herself in the process… this is why she shouldn’t panic, she was so glad that it was only a little cut and it wouldn’t affect the food that much…?? Right?? One little hiss did escape Aerwyna’s lips however and she just looked to Gala, chuckling nervously.

“No worries! Just a cut!” Aerwyna said in reassurance. However, the blood seemed to be dripping out of her finger and she was only able to tell because of the fact that she had her finger in the air, showing him the blood.

“Heheheh… that was my bad…”

The warmth that Aerwyna suddenly felt when he moved her hand away and right into safety, the feelings she was getting was quite weird… the fuzziness and the excitement was surely a treat to feel. She didn’t know why she felt like this, but if this was the very person who triggered it then she would very much like to experience it again and again. It felt strange but she well and truly welcomed the feeling of pure happiness. The feeling stayed around when he threw the celery into the bin because of her blood.“Might I ask why blood can-” She really knew nothing, but before she could finish her question, the male exited the room.

Where was going?? She didn’t get it…

Soon, he entered the room again with this strange strip in his hands before he quickly held her hand once more, cleaning the wound and then placing the strip on the wound. He then explained the next step, he was going to get some new celery and another cutting board. She felt grateful that she was being given the chance to try again… the feelings got more intense however, she hoped it wasn’t going to affect her that much. “Thanks.” Aerwyna spoke out before she got herself ready to cut the celery again.

Aerwyna felt strange the moment he said he was enjoying it, probably because she was looking to him before she continued on with what she was tasked to do. She froze for a few seconds however the moment she was called a beautiful woman… the warm feeling invaded her system once more, except it felt even warmer than before. Her face just went red like it did when he kissed her on the cheek. Oh god, if her father was here right now, she would probably not hear anything except for his anger. She was glad he was not here right now, right now, she just wanted to continue to learn how to be a human.

Looking to him once more while trying to keep a straight face, she looked to the onion in his hand and then glanced at the knife that he took out of her hand, just to show her how to cut the onion. He explained a few things about the onion while after he was done cutting: one was about it’s root and to not cut the root. The other was about the onion making people cry. She didn’t think food could forcefully make someone cry, but this piece of food apparently did. She hoped it didn’t made her cry because she knew that would suck if it did.

Nodding, she took back the knife softly and she started to cut the onion. She had to be careful, she didn’t want to try, but the moment her eyes started to sting slightly, she started to show off some tears. Aerwyna shook her head because she said it to herself that she didn’t want to cry, but it seemed that the onion broke them words in two. On the bright side, at least she wasn’t crying because she was hurt. Well technically, her eyes hurt, but that was about it. Finally, the female finished off cutting the onion like she was instructed to and she left the root, she sighed softly at the cutting and looked to the side with tears in her eyes.

“You weren’t lying about the crying!” Aerwyna chuckled to herself lightly. “Is there any way for the stinging to go??” She just wanted to stop crying. “And what is the next step??”

Yay! The next step! Say goodbye to the onions and hello to something new! Wait, why is he giving her a new cutting board?? Was there different cutting boards for different types of food, that would make sense if everything worked with food like how the celery worked with blood. Keeping this in mind, she gave out a much calmer composure then what she retained much earlier, although her face was still red.

“Garlic??” She tried to pronounce the word correctly, but it didn’t seem to sit right with her. “Garlic… garlic… garlic! Right! Gar-lic bird!” She nodded happily and grinned. All she had to do was cut this into chunks?? Then she was sure that it would be much easier to perform then then the other slices she had to do with the celery. She was about to cut them into the chunks that were required, however, Gala asked why her face was red and she just took a glance over to him confused. Her face was red?? Why was her face red? She can’t recall doing anything to make her face red, unless this was a ‘human’ reaction. Oh god, was this a human reaction to compliments???

“I’m great. My face is red?? I didn’t know it was red??” Aerwyna tilted her head in a clueless manner. “I have dealt with different skin colours before because of how I look as a mermaid, but I didn’t think people's faces could turn red.” She admitted as she shook that very same head. “I’m learning new things every day I guess!” She giggled.

Now Aerwyna seen why it was called a garlic bird, it ate that much garlic… Now that she thought of it, garlic sounded pretty delicious to her. She could almost taste it in her mouth, even if she didn’t know what it tasted like at all, but she guessed that she will taste it very soon, all the new and exotic tastes in her mouth will be very fun as she is still learning about human food and not food that she can eat while underwater.

Suddenly, the mermaid felt the male’s hand on her forehead, it was to merely check her temperature but this only made her face go even redder than ever before. She really started to have these… strange feelings for him, she has never felt it before. In fact, she didn’t understand why she even felt like that. Hopefully, she will understand soon and she sure will at the right time.

“Gala… I am okay, trust me!” The female reassured the cook. She was still ready and raring to get to the next stage of the cooking process. “I’ll be just fine.”

“Kelp…”

Aerwyna LOVED kelp. She ate it all the time underneath the surface, it was one of the few things that she well and truly loved kelp, it was just the right amount of taste for the mermaid princess and she really couldn’t eat that much underwater. So to be able to drink a kelp based sake sounds really delicious. Watching Gala pour her the sake got her really excited about how it was actually going to taste and if it will taste like real kelp.

“What do I want to see or do… hmm… I don’t actually know…” Aerwyna really didn’t know. What would she like to do? There was so much in this house and there was even the pool… unfortunately, Aerwyna already decided that she would swim after everything is over for the evening.

The smell of the garlic was invading the mermaids nostrils, and oh my, it felt amazing. She must say so herself, it smelt so much better than some of the food that she even smelt back at the Silver Moon Inn. She was looking forward to be able to taste her own cooking, she was so ready to enjoy the world of culinary now and she knew it was going to be so much fun.

Upon being queried about her sea life, Aerwyna really didn’t know how to answer. She was stuck in a palace almost all her life so she was the sheltered type of female. She knew he could tell him a few things, but she had to be careful about anything else that she could say that would give away her position of being a princess. “Oh!” Aerwyna began as she tried to think of the words. “It was interesting, I guess, we swam a lot that’s for sure. Some of the people who resided underwater were quite interesting, we all were differently coloured for mermaids and some of them really love swimming. It’s just really carefree I guess!” Aerwyna told the truth at least, from the rare occasions when she was out, the mermaids and sea life were so happy. “I sometimes got jealous, but we will get to that another time!” Aerwyna announced.

“Oh… urm… where’s Kinopio…??” Crap, Aerwyna was so busy with the cooking she forgot she brought Kinopio with her!
