    Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ A Rank

    Fingers traced the edges of a soul as she walked along, happy with the latest contract that she had just secured only days ago. It had gone further, however, and now she had stolen half of that one poor person’s soul. What had he wanted? Simply put, he had desired power, which was beyond common. In the end, that wish was usually one’s downfall. Nevertheless, she had not forced the fate on them, like any average Daemon would in one of their harsh contracts. Instead, she gave those she met a choice, and watching them juggle the options under the pressure of time was always amusing.

    The soul in her hand was only half of one, really. She had broken it from its other half, the instant Taige had gone too far, and had provoked her already stifled anger to a violent outburst. The spirit had been happy to torture the young one, and by the end of it, make off with half of his soul. What did a soul look like? Simple- it was like an orb of light, with a blaze of a specific color ebbing off of it, almost as if it were a flame. Each color and the shame of the blaze could be unique to a certain soul or creature in general. Humans, specific demons, gods, angels, yokai, specific monsters… it all varied. Their souls each were different, and for a being who had consumed and collected souls into her own essence for so long, she knew the structure and their signatures quite well.

    The one she held onto was very weak, and not even worth consuming or crushing. Preferably, she would dispose of it and allow it to wander as a lost soul. If that were done, it would perhaps have potential to be more entertaining in the future, possibly. Right now, the young blonde-haired human-shaped spirit had other ideas. She would give the half-soul away to someone as a gift. There were multiple choices of who to deliver the special little ‘present’ to, including her ‘children’. However, she could only pick one out of the three, but who really was worth giving the gift to? Who would entertain the Daemon mother the most?

    For now, she would hold onto the soul. There was no more time to think of what use or potential that it might have, not with another thing calling to her mind. Her own soul was lucky enough to be split into many fragments, scattered about and ready for her to use at a moment’s notice. One of them she had embedded within the spirit of another- a young tanuki yokai who seemed to have enough potential to possibly entertain. So why not? However, that person was about to wander into dangerous territory; a plane which would prove to be the last place she should go. It was beneficial for the blonde girl, however, who now had a general idea of who she would give her minuscule gift of half a soul to. Better yet, entertainment and amusement would surely come, or so her precognition told her. All she had to do was push her consciousness back into the soul she had housed inside the simple tanuki, and from there, she could begin her little endeavor.

    ~~~
    There had always been rules regarding who could take jobs and who could not. Every single guild had them, and as much as Izayuki wanted to take on a ten or one hundred year job, she could not due to her rank and the strict laws binding all mages, even guildmasters, to only take on jobs they were capable of taking in regards to power. Thus, the Bakedanuki had to settle only on an S rank job. Though she was A-rank, it was somewhat acceptable, and the youthful wizard was certain that it would be easy for her to handle.
    Despite knowing the risks of being in Pergrande Kingdom, the Black Rose mage had briskly made her way to the community. Upon arriving, Izayuki had hidden her tanuki features and tried to ensure that she appeared to be just another average human. With her skills, she hid her magic presence entirely from those around, and quietly prayed that the authorities of Pergrande had no other ways of detecting mages.
    After a very long day of travel, she safely arrived in the area of their client- an entire neighborhood living in fear of a certain building. For them to go out of their way to hire magic users to take care of their problems in a nation that hated and rejected magic altogether... they certainly were serious about this. The Guild Master of Black Rose had no reason to even ask the client of the whereabouts of their 'problem'. The Decrepit Mansion stood out like a sore thumb at the end of the street, with a giant yard shrouded in pale mists. The trees out in front of the structure seemed dead and withered, but somehow still had dry leaves rattling and sending out chilling sounds as the haunted breeze passed through them. Izayuki had no need to approach anyone to ask or to tell them they were here. The few people who dared be outside of their dwellings had already caught sight of the pink-haired mage.
    As Izayuki entered the main yard and radius of the Decrepit Mansion, she instantly noticed the sky was not the same as before. It was white, like paper, and empty, with mists surrounding most of what could be seen that was not close by. Something was compelling about the place, but what could it be? It was almost as if the giant house was familiar, even if Izayuki had never seen it or anything like it before in her life. Just what was the mystery behind the peculiar place?
    Marceline Anicetus
    Marceline reached toward her chest, lightly placing her fingertips on the area where a human’s heart would have been located. She did have a heart, but it was a heart that didn’t beat; it simply lay dormant inside of her, waiting for its moment to restart. However, that moment would never come for her, ever again, she’d be left with a wanton thing inside of her; a waste of space. Her hand dropped away from her chest as if she didn’t want to think about the organ inside of her that didn’t work properly. A heart was something meaningful in her mind and since hers didn’t beat, she felt something was wrong with her in a way. No beating heart, no emotions, no reason for her to be able to feel what humans could feel. . . what she had been able to feel once before. Yet, she had something more to herself, something that she cherished and that glowed with a warm light inside of her.
    Deep within this woman was a soul she adored, held closely to her and one that she would make sure to never lose sight of. It was the essence that kept her moving, sustaining her body on the life that it was able to emit with such a vibrancy in itself. The power that it emitted, the very flames that ignited it and kept it burning, was what kept the deathly woman from falling. With every soul she had collected for the thousands of years she had been alive, they had all been ripped from her and never returned. Who she could blame was none other than the one man that she looked to in times of need and when she had nowhere else to turn. A being who had both an immaterial and material existence in the world, but who was also just the thought and fear in someone’s head. He, who had planted his seed in the woman he loved, and together, gave her life and existence in a world as cruel as this one.
    You know about this mansion, right?” the voice in her head inquired in a genuine manner, as if it was doubting her knowledge.
    If you think I know of this mansion, you’re completely wrong. What reason would I have to even come to a place such as this?” she returned the question. “It’s just an old building in my opinion, I don’t even know why you brought me here in the first place; it’s completely abandoned, can’t you see?” She was exasperated by the man, questioning why he brought her to places that didn’t have a single living being inside of it. It was a waste of her time, but since he was her father, she couldn’t simply disobey his words without some sort of consequence. Even when it came down to someone like Death, she couldn’t fathom turning her gaze away from him and doing her own thing. After all, she had lived all these millennia with him that it was undoubtedly so that she wouldn’t ever think of disobeying him.
    This is the mansion famously known as the Decrepit Mansion; a place where almost no one of the living realm is able to return from. In fact, very few have returned from here and it was I who often came here to take the souls that couldn’t find their way back out. But after you subsequently disabled me and took the remainder of my abilities, I can no longer come to this place and it is now a job passed down to you. You do realize the more you cripple me, the more likely it is that you will become something that you don’t want to be? Honestly, you should just accept your fate and realize that you’re going to be the next Grim Reaper of this godforsaken world until your own end.” She could feel the very frown that would have been upon his face if she had been directly looking at him in the room he was in. However, she chose to ignore the feeling that she felt and focus on something else that would distract her for the time being.
    With a soft sigh, the magus walked down the street she was on to the end of the road where a looming and slightly crumbling home stood towering. She gazed up at it with a longing look and glanced to the entrance of the house, the shifting of movement capturing her attention. In front of her, just a few feet ahead, was a woman with brilliantly pink hair, sticking out like a sore thumb, just as the building was. Her eyes narrowed suspiciously at the strange woman, unable to sense the magical presence that was meant to be radiating off her. Marceline couldn’t quite understand how that was possible, how someone was able to suppress their magic so well, but here she stood before someone that could. Keeping quiet, the woman passed through the gates of the home and onto the lawn of the decrepit mansion, just behind the other woman.
    Like Izayuki, her attention would be drawn toward the sky, papery in nature and like someone could easily scribble a drawing on it. In a way, she felt her magic would have been able to rot it away into nothingness, but her magic seemed not to affect it. Looking uninterested away from the sky, the woman moved passed the bakedanuki and up the rickety steps of the home. Her hand reached forward to grab the knob of the mansion to turn it, only to find that her grasp easily rotted away the rustic handle. The decay effect would eventually take place on the door itself until nothing remained of what blocked her from entering. Dropping her hand wantoning back to her side, Marceline ducked through the entrance and disappeared into the home. What awaited her and her job partner in the building would be something she would find out at a much later date or perhaps never.
    Why so many spooky jobs?
    Why no frolicking in the fields?
    Anastasia was standing in a field of wheat, seeing the golden stalks sway back and forth in the wind.  The calming sensation of the breeze brushes over her skin and through her long, blonde hair.  Anastasia was alone in this mythical place, Idavoll, as small orbs of light started to ascend from the ground, fluttering upwards into the air like fireflies flying up to heaven.  Anastasia reached up to reach for one of the lights only for the light to vanish from view.
    The skies grew dark and the earth cracked beneath her feet.  Fire began to rise from ground, burning away the once beautiful golden wheat.  The wheat continued to burn and the clouds darken.  A ship penetrated the darkness with a massive skull upon the front of the ship.  Panicking, Anastasia began to run from the ship as it seemed to pursue her.  Canon fire could be heard in the distance, the sound of thunder, as fire was thrown through the skies towards Ana.  She quickly moved out of the way and continued to run from the ship.
    However, no matter how fast she ran, it was to no avail as the ship continued to get closer and closer and the harder she ran the more it felt like she wasn't going anywhere.  A ball of fire came from the sky and hit the ground in front of her, causing it to fissure and spread open as the earth below swallowed her up.  Anastasia reached upwards as she started to fall into the darkness, seeing a single glowing orb, reaching out for it and held it in her hands as she fell into the darkness.  She pressed the warm light against her chest.
    She shot awake as the barmaid, Alisha, stood outside of the Dream Room, staring at Anastasia with a little grimace upon her face.  "Still need a bit more fine-tuning on the simulation?" Alisha asked, pretending to sound like she knew what she was talking about.  The words that came out of her mouth sounded awkward for a simple girl to talk about.
    Ripping the wires off of her face, Anastasia sat up and moved her legs to the edge of the bed.  "You can say that.  What do you want, Alisha?" Anastasia asked before the busty barmaid approached her with a sheet of paper.  "It seems like the Pergrande Kingdom requires your services," Alisha said as-a-matter-of-factly.  She seemed quite annoyed being in Anastasia's presence, being treated like absolute crap while around her.  Not even the perverted men in the guild ever treated her like the way Anastasia does.
    Anastasia opened up the sheet of paper and began to read it.  A brow was raised before crumpling up the sheet of paper and placing it upon the bed.  "A haunted mansion.  What's the deal?  I don't like spooky places like that.  Especially not after doing those two jobs with Nao," Ana stated.  Alisha simply shrugged her shoulders.  "Well, whatever.  They seemed to have wanted you by name, so it looks like you should do it.  Unless, of course, you want to look like a wimpy coward and back out of it," Alisha said with a bit of a foxy grin upon her face.
    A look of annoyance came across Anastasia's face.  She stood up and cleared her throat and started to walk out of the Dream Room.  In passing, she simply stated.  "Replace the sheets and shut down the simulator," Ana said before walking out.  Alisha mocked her by mouthing out her commands with a distorted face before getting to work on bringing the room back up to 100% efficiency.
    After a shower and preparing her battle equipment, she was met by Taliya right outside of her room.  The strange Sun-Creature had her arms crossed over her plump chest with her fluffy tail swishing back and forth.  Circling around her was the Fire Moth, an orbital weapon with an artificial intelligence capable of autonomous movement.  "Heeeeeey," Taliya said in a playful manner.  A little grumble came across Anastasia's face as she put on the blue blouse of what appeared to be a military uniform.
    "C'mon, Taliya.  We have a job to do," Anastasia said before the creature jumped up in joy and slapped her hands together.  Anastasia started to walk her way through the barracks only for one of the faceless pirates to give Anastasia a salute.  "Everything is fueled up and ready to go Captain!  We even put on a couple of meals on-board for your long journey to Pergrande.  The ship, after all, travels at a snail's pace.  Why couldn't the physics in this world follow the physics of reality where a certain minimum speed is required for propulsion?
    Ana simply waved to the man and grumbled before boarding the ship.  She turned around and told one of the faceless pirates to tell Cirven that he was in charge while she was gone.  After the command was given, Ana, Taliya, and the Fire Moth entered the ship and submerged under water as they made their way to Pergrande Kingdom for this strange request.
    As the ship flew towards Pergrande, Anastasia seemed to be in an awful mood.  Lounging in one of the chairs, completely sprawled out, Taliya lifted her head to look at Anastasia, hearing her disgruntled noises.  "Have that dream again, Cap'n?" Taliya asked before Ana grumbled once more.  "Yeah.  Why can I have put in a dream where I'm dancing through a candy wonderland, drinking out of strange pink flowers shaped like cups and where the chocolate rabbits poop out tasty chocolate treats," Ana said in annoyance.  "You mean those candy coated chocolates?  The ones that melt in your mouth and not in your--" Taliya said before being cut off.  "Yeah, those," she said before taking a similar, slouching position upon the Captain's chair during this super long flight to Pergrande.
    Several meals and bathroom breaks later, the ship found itself in the Pergrande Kingdom.
    -/-We have entered the Pergrande Kingdom.  We will reach our destination in 10 minutes.  There is an electro-magnetic anomaly in the skies over the destination.  We will have to land 3 kilometers away to remain safe from the anomaly.-\-
    The artificial intelligence, George, said to Anastasia.  A loud grunt could be heard before she peeled herself out of the seat to get final preparations ready.  "Fuuuuuuuck.  Why can't things go my way for once?" she said before going to freshen up before the drop-off point and get her feet prepared for the walk.
    As quickly as the time came, the ship finally landed.  This place looked at felt different.  A little chill came in the air as Ana, Taliya, and the Fire Moth each stepped out.  "Something about this place gives me goosebumps, Ana.  I don't like this too much," Taliya said as she grabbed Ana's left arm, wrapping her arms and breasts around it.  Anastasia pulled her arm away as a blush came over her face.  "Stop that, geez," she said  as she started walking faster to leave Taliya behind. A foxy grin came over Taliya's face as she picks up her pace as well to keep up.
    Upon arriving at the mansion, a chill crawled up both of their backs.  Something about the skies above them didn't seem right.  A strange aura enveloped them as they walked into the yard, seeing a woman with bright pink hair and another with raven black hair.  Anastasia approached the two and looked around for a moment, feeling a familiar sensation of tension and fear creep up upon her.  This was like when she had to fetch documents from that spooky building in the Neutral Grounds.  This time, however, she didn't have the comfort of Nao to protect her.  Instead, she is surrounded by unfamiliar faces.
    Anastasia raised a hand up above her head and stated.  "Hello there."  It was at that point that the dark-haired woman entered the mansion without much of a word spoken.  Anastasia and company walked up to the pink-haired girl and tilted her head as she looked at Marceline inquisitively.  Her voice spoke up once more.  "That one is a bit strange, wouldn't you think?" she asked the Tanuki before smiling to her.  "Anyway, it seems I've been assigned to join you in this job.  My name is Anastasia, and this is Taliya," she said in a relatively thick russian accent.
    Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ A Rank
    It was not difficult for the numerous trespassers to be sensed the instant they entered the plane of the Decrepit Mansion. The paper white sky was quick to show that they were not exactly in the real world any longer. This place was a pocket dimension in the physical realm, and one could easily pass into it without realizing it. However, the intention of those who had entered was not the same as those idle strangers, who had no business or purpose here. The ones who had entered undoubtedly meant trouble for the residents of the Decrepit Mansion. Why else would they be here, other than to reclaim what was not rightfully theirs? Anyone who entered the mansion was already forfeiting their life, and eventually would join the others. Yet they sent more and more, as if there was any sort of hope of helping the others to escape. It was pathetic, and the quiet being could somewhat pity them.
    Overall, however, it was childishly amusing. They would begin to wander the halls, and upon finding no success, or from getting spooked too much, they would try to find a way out. This was the best part. They would squirm and suffer as they tried to leave, finding all of the doors locked, the windows sealed, and the walls and glass unable to be broken. They would truly be trapped, and finally begin worrying about their own wretched lives. Should they not have considered all of that before they entered? Well, no matter.
    As they wandered through the maze of the endless old structure, they would slowly be driven deep into insanity. They would do what they could to survive the treacherous attacks and appearances of the resident spirits, only to be driven mad even more. If finally captured, they would be painfully dealt a screaming death, and either be consumed or accepted into the ranks of the souls of the Decrepit Mansion. It was always good and fun entertainment… and she was the ruler of them all. The Queen, Abeo. Well, one of them. The other would be Silica, a somewhat distant relative through some weird means. Abeo typically kept her distance from the other mansion ruler, and as a result, things were ‘peaceful’ between them, and the Spirits knew to obey both and not go against the other. Nevertheless, that mattered little.
    Abeo chuckled lightly as she clairvoyantly watched the approachers. There were a lot of them… more than any other adventurous and brave party who dared to go near the mansion. Not only that, but it was easy to tell that there were more than just the four bodies who stood in the front yard. How interesting this would be. ”Allow them entry!” the Queen murmured, knowing that her voice would be heard by all of the local spirits. Her purple eyes were shaded over, yet a cruel grin was revealed as her lips widened to reveal it. She perched happily on her throne in the hidden ‘Parlor’ of the building. It would be awhile before they reached her, if they even made it that far. Or better yet, they could run into Silica first… how pleasant would that be!
    The childlike Half-Daemon continued to observe the four with her clairvoyance, monitoring their every move in her dimension. One of them particularly caught her interest… a soul hiding within a soul…
    Were one to give it a form, it would be that of a nineteen year old with golden blonde hair and eyes as blue as the azure sky. She knew this presence all too well, and her grin began to subside the more she sensed it. Purple eyes briefly closing, Abeo focused all of her perception to that source. She was not wrong, or too disappointed, as much as she would have preferred that. The golden-blaze soul of the Daemon of Envy stuck out like a sore thumb, despite being housed inside the pink-hued soul of the strange Bakedanuki… not that her spirit correctly matched her soul, yet that failed to pique her interest. ”Listen up! That Bakedanuki is mine, you got it? Harass it all you want, but don’t kill it. Anyone who does gets to suffer my wrath,” the Half-Daemon ordered, beginning to stand up from the throne. To think that she had to deal with this now, of all things. How fun was this really going to be? Only time would tell.
    ~~~

    ”How interesting… she knows I’m here, it seems…” the Daemon mused quietly to herself. She could sense that they were being watched, mainly because she already recognized and knew of the other presence who appeared to govern this strange place. It would be one heck of a weird reunion, but worth it in the end, hopefully. Whether or not the meeting would end on good or bad terms had yet to be seen, but hopefully the small gift that the golden-blonde had to give would be worth it, as a token of a small peace offering.

    It was hard to say. Alice knew that Abeo had become increasingly unstable lately, at least mentally. But what more could one expect from the spirit of a barely-developed soul and being. She was no more than a child, after all, yet the Daemon would at least try to remain civil with the other spirits.

    The entire dimension was completely amusing to Alice, really. Abeo and Silica had tried so hard to replicate that one place, to make a neverending world out of it. After all, at least the former would have been real royalty had those unfortunate events of the past not taken place. Only now was she getting a pathetic taste of what she could have been from within her play pretend realm. And the spirits that aided her? Not real Daemons, only ghosts of the dead who had been killed by the real residents of the first mansion, now long gone and disbanded on that other world. And who was to blame for that? None other than Alice herself.
    Did Abeo know? Of course not, and like hell would she tell her just yet. There was no point, and it would not even be entertaining. And just who was Silica? A fake carbon copy, settled snugly in the imagination of Abeo, even if she was ignorant as to what it really was. The co-Queen was a fake and poorly designed replica of Vasillica, who had come long before Abeo’s ‘time’.

    It was sad and pathetic to watch. She could almost pity the child, who really knew nothing. Vasillica had been Alice’s aunt, after all, and the Silica created now was likely just an image copied from her memories somehow. It was weird how such beings like Abeo were created… it really was. Again, who was to blame? Alice, of course, and this time, begrudgingly.

    ”What was that, Alice?” a dark and hostile tone asked, breaking down and stopping the Daemon’s train of thought. Had her own words within her thoughts really been loud enough for Izayuki to hear? That was annoying.
    Though Izayuki was the current keeper of Wonderland, a power given to her by both unknowingly and willing contracting with the Daemon, Alice typically preferred to have little to do with the Bakedanuki. The youthful Youkai was getting stronger, true, though was not yet strong enough to be of any real use to Alice. Until she grew in power, their contract was only barely there, a fact that only the Daemon knew. Nevertheless, Izayuki was intriguing, and in time, would hopefully be a tool worth using.

    ”It was nothing. Just thinking aloud… do pardon,” Alice replied in her typical formal manner, being polite to the ‘lesser’ being for once, thanks to having her thoughts preoccupied and definitely elsewhere. In any normal circumstance, she might have remained silent and not responded to the Bakedanuki, or have simply replied in a very short and blunt manner. Not this time. They had more pressing matters, and that was just what Izayuki would soon find out.

    ~~~
    Izayuki could only breath out a sigh as Alice responded to her. It was rare for her to even hear the frightening Daemon’s voice, and when she did, it typically meant trouble, and she questioned it with suspicion. For once, however, that was not the case, and after a few seconds of worrying, the Bakedanuki could turn her attention back to the present.
    The strange raven-haired lady had a strange air about her, and pink eyes could only carefully observe as she narrowed her eyes at Izayuki and finally made her way towards the door without so much as a word. Curious, but not enough for Izayuki to bother with questioning it. The lady was likely just another mage who had been asked to deal with that neighborhood in Pergrande Kingdom’s problem. Most likely, the other mage preferred working alone or at least not halting in her work to begin social chatter with strangers.
    The human-formed Youkai would stare further as she watched the door knob suddenly dissolve and decay from afar… followed by the door itself. That was definitely something interesting and possibly important to note. A sudden thick accent broke her hard gaze and thought process as she snapped back to the present, and turned her pink-haired head to see the light blonde-haired woman. ”Strange would be a good word to use,” the Black Rose mage responded with a small chuckle, finally focusing all of her attention on the lady and turning her body slightly towards her. ”Nice to meet you, Anastasia and Taliya! My name’s Izayuki; it’s nice to know I won’t be working alone. Shall we follow our other ‘friend’?” she continued with a wide, perky smile that was always characteristic for her.
    Without much time wasted, Izayuki would begin to walk across the yard and towards the now-opened entry of the Decrepit Mansion. The heaviness in the air did not seem so bad with the knowledge of company fresh in the Bakedanuki’s mind. She was a true extrovert, and loved being around others. Feeling a bit more at ease, the Youkai allowed her more preferred form to take shape. Seconds ago, she had appeared to be just another human. Now? She had magically dawned silver-furred tanuki ears, a large fluffy tail, elongated canine teeth, and claws to replace human fingernails. It was much more comfortable for the tanuki to stay in this form over that of an average human. She had needed the earlier form for travelling through Pergrande Kingdom, which was strictly anti-magic, and likely anti-nonhumans.
    After finishing her brief and subtle transformation, Izayuki would cast a toothy grin back towards Anastasia and Taliya before entering the rotted building. On the interior, there were lavishly decorated walls with fine wallpaper, fancy wall and shelf decorations, rich furniture, and a beautiful interior design. Really, it was not decrepit or worn at all… everything looked fairly new, and rather lovely, at that. The candles mounted on walls and in lamps were lit, illuminating the parlor with a dim light. The fireplace was going, with a happy fire as if it had been recently stoked. Somehow, though, the air felt very still, and the space vacant. There were no scents nor signs of life to be seen, other than the newness of the room itself. The interior was massive, and there was a set of stairs a few yards in front of them that split after the first flight. Large marble columns held the second and third stories up. Directly hanging overhead was a giant crystal chandelier with blazing candles mounted securely on it.
    The place seemed so nice… nevertheless, an ominous feeling still loomed over the space. There were no sounds other than the ever so slight crackle of nearby fireplaces or candles, or various creaks of the tall and evidently not decrepit structure that only keen ears could detect. Just what could go wrong?
    Marceline Anicetus
    Stepping into the rickety home was one of the more unimpressive things that Marceline had done in her lifetime here on Earthland. Her first step into the building caused a ricochet of creaking from the floorboards as they echoed down the eerily silent and dark hallway. It was a living nightmare in a way, certainly not something that terrified the woman in the least bit, but something that would terrify a human surely. Each creak of the foot on the floorboard sounded like a desperate moan of a long lost spirit that had never been able to escape. The very sound made her want to help out the spirit that called out to her, but in reality, it was just the creaking of the floorboards. Annoying as it was to consistently hear the sounds that were produced from this old home, it was something to be expected. As old as this place looked to be, it was meant to start creaking and moaning beneath weight it likely could no longer hold.
    She didn’t go very far into the building, perhaps just a few steps inside, so that she did not wander too far from her job partners. Even if they were people she didn’t completely recognize, though had a small inkling of who they were because of her own heritage, she still needed to stay close. A job was a job and when she had partners on it, she knew she couldn’t wander too far unless she wanted to lose them permanently. So, she stuck to the entrance of the home, resting against one of the old panels of the walls while she waited for Izayuki and Anastasia to join her. As such, both of them were still settled outside, conversing with each other as if they had been friends they hadn’t seen in years. Her gaze eventually turned from them and glanced deeper into the building, into the darkness that swallowed the dimly lit hallway. When she looked back, her pupils had a silvery glow to them, shiny and rather metallic-looking from within the shadows she stood in.
    These silvery eyes were a trademark for those who had the ability known as “Shinigami Eyes;” a wanton ability that allowed one to see death. Any form of it that took place in an area, and was known to activate immediately if the surrounding area was filled with a surmount of death. Marceline. . . why, she could see all of the souls within this building that wandered around both lost, aggravated and various other emotions. In a way, it hurt her to see all of these souls that were trapped inside of the building and acreage, unable to pass onto the next life. However, she kept it all to herself and merely stood where she was while she let Anastasia and Izayuki get to know each other better. Perhaps, she should join them, but at the same time, she didn’t want to say much in fear of herself being known by the two. After all, it wasn’t uncommon for magi of the legal, neutral, or guildless status to recognize those that were wanted by the Magic Council.
    It was only then that when she heard a strange voice echo in the air, her glowing gaze turned back to the inside of the structure. Was she the only one that had heard the voice speaking to the spirits? She would hope not, but as she turned back to the others, it would appear so. She dropped her gaze momentarily to the ground, a haunting look crossing over her face before she pressed off the wall. “Strange. . . such a unique word to use for something that is but just a natural law in your world,” Marceline’s layered voice called out. Her arms crossed under her large bust, her stance rigid as she faced Anastasia and Izayuki with a hardened look on her face. One second, Marcy would be standing in the doorway and a second later, she reappeared in front of them from a cloud of ashy Nether. “Is that what you call death here in Earthland? Something strange? No grievance for those that are lost? No heartache or pain?
    Her silvery pupils and red irises were more than piercingly vibrant the closer she was to the two of them, like a light shining through space. “I am that which comes for you when your time has come to an end; oh, but don’t worry, lovelies, I’m not here for you. . . yet.” A sly smirk appeared across her lips and she sidestepped out of their way, her eyes once more returning the opening she made in the house. “You can’t see them yourselves, but I. . . I can see each and every spirit that wanders this listless place, hundreds of them. . . all lost. Like an army preparing for war, but what war is coming, I do not know, just that these spirits, they are angry and they’re led by evil ones.” Marceline’s arms dropped back to her sides as if she had lost all cause to be happy and that sorrow had just encompassed her. “Oh, my poor spirits. . . how they wish to leave this place and cannot. . . don’t worry, my dearies, I assure you, you’ll be set free.
    Death. . . Death was just a sweet release from a world so cruel and that was her job, to relinquish the pain that old souls felt. But here, here in this estranged home, the spirits couldn’t rest and as such, even the souls inside of her could not rest. They moved and twitched and tried to push their way out of her, but she struggle with them to keep them at bay within her. Again, her slender fingers would rest gently on the chest of her bodice, like it was her fingers that were keeping the spirits down. A sad look harkened her face, but she quickly turned back to the old home and slowly began to trudge back up its steps. “If you’re curious to know who I am, just simply ask rather than calling me strange because even to me, the both of you are odd ones, especially you, Pinky.” It would be then that Marceline reached out to one of the poles that held the porch together, burning a strange mark into it with just her touch.
    Marceline Anicetus. . . is my name. . . Marcy for short,” the woman called back to the duo still standing outside of the home. She felt pressed for time, surely, like she was on a timer in order to get all of these spirits out of this home and into the afterlife. “I would have preferred to have kept my name under wraps because of recent incidents from the Magic Council and otherwise, but I’ll pardon it for now. But just because my name is on the list of the most wanted people in Fiore, do not expect to catch me as easy as it may seem. I know how you legal and legally aligned magi work and quite frankly, I’m smarter than I appear. . . after all, Death has to be. . .” Marcy turned her head slightly and gazed back at Izayuki and Anastasia, the smirk once more on her face when she looked at them. “Der Sandmann ist da, der Sandmann ist da. Er hat so schönen weißen Sand ist allen Kindern wohlbekannt. Der Sandmann ist da!
    She waited patiently until at long last, Izayuki was the first to move away from where she had previously been and toward the building. This indication allowed for Marceline to dart of and into the building in what would be considered a rather fashionable vanishing act. By the time either Anastasia or Izayuki made their way into the home, she would be standing in the center of the dimly lit area. While it was dimly lit, it was certainly a home that had a “homey” feel to it, one that was comforting and held a richness to it. It was something that she missed back at her own home, a castle that was long since rundown and more ghastly than this own building. Even the kingdom she was queen of had a horridness to it that would evidently keep out intruders that wanted in it. The two guards stationed at the entrance of the kingdom something no one really wanted to take the time to deal with.
    Cozy!” she exclaimed in a demeanor that was extraordinarily different to the one she had displayed earlier to the two. She turned around and plopped comfortably down onto one of the couches that had been precisely place where it was now. Snuggling up into it, she let out a sigh of happiness before she quickly sat up again and stood back to her feet, clearing her throat. “For being rather old and rickety on the outside, this building sure does have a homey feeling on the inside of it.” A smile was on her face this time, one that was more genuine than any of the other smirks and wily smiles she gave to them. Without further ado, the woman spun on her heels and looked around at the room again, only to spot the staircase beyond them. “Perhaps we should go up those stairs? I’m sure there’s more to this place than the eye can see, and I bet it’s all upstairs!
    Marcy disappeared subsequently into nonexistence, nothing left in her place where she had previously been before she reappeared at the staircase. Her sender hand gripped the railing and she pulled herself up to and onto the first step of the stairs before looking back at them. After giving them a glance, she would charge up the stairs as if she was just a little girl running from the Christmas tree with all her toys in tow. Of course, her charging wasn’t much of running, but rather of her disappearing and reappearing into existence from the invisible Nether. Certainly, she was more childish than she appeared, which gave off a strange feel to those near her, but she was a mystery in her own. With no real origin to her own existence, let alone who old she actually was, who was to say she really wasn’t just a young girl? After all, death could take anymore it so wished and perhaps, even the appearance she held now was some sort of illusion to them.
    When she reached the top of the stairs, Marceline came to a halt at the beginning of a rather empty and very eerily quiet hallway. The glow of her silvery pupils gave off a bit of light, but nothing that would be able to let them see through the dank airiness. Even if the building was fresh and homey was it was on the inside, there was something about it that gave shivers down her spine. For Death to be spooked by the very essence of the building, there had to be something inside that was quite powerful and mysterious. What the something was, neither would know, not even the voice that rest silently in her head of the man who came here often. Taking souls from this place was one thing, but she had a feeling that it was all an elaborate lie, in which no souls were ever taken. Hell, she doubted for a moment that the souls could even be taken from this place and that, just maybe, they were just illusions as well.
    Why would a house be passed off as if it was rundown and no one wanted to live inside of it? Wouldn’t someone want to freshen it up? On top of that, why was it that it looked rickety and old on the outside, but once someone stepped inside, it was as if it was brand new? All of this made Marceline curious, but she couldn’t be sure if she would ever get the answer to any of this strangeness the building gave off. “Hey!” she called back down the stairs to her job partners, hanging herself down over the edge to peer at the two below her. “Does anyone else get a strange, eerie feeling being in here? Like you want to get out, but you know, somehow, that you won’t be able to? I don’t know, that’s just the feeling I get, but perhaps that’s just me being loony and not all there in the head like I should be.” She gave a shrug of her shoulders and pulled herself back up, facing back toward the start of the hallway that led to many rooms.
    A Russian Girl, a Demon, and Death
    All walk into a bar
    Izayuki calmly introduced herself after her own input on Marceline's solitary actions on her own.  Anastasia's smile continued upon her introduction only for another voice from the inside to call out to the two. So the mysterious maiden's name was Marceline Anicetus.  She was a very beautiful woman, one that any hot-blooded man would urge to bed, but it wasn't Anastasia's cup-of-tea.  Actually, neither of these women were really Anastasia's preference; not that she came to a job for a quick hook-up or anything.
    "Hel?" Anastasia questioned in reference to Marceline hinting at herself being either the avatar of Death or Death, itself.  Anastasia believed it to be a delusion of grandeur, some form of schizophrenic behavior, or a dissociative identity disorder.  The thought of it being an actual thing, that she was actually telling the truth, never crossed her mind.  There were a lot of strange things in Fiore, and this Marceline person was definitely one of them; at least in Anastasia's eyes.
    Everything seemed to be normal before a rather sudden and subtle transformation into her fox-demon shape.  This caused Taliya to have mixed emotions, wanting to hug her and cuddle with her and to play with her tail, but she was also in quite a bit of disgust due to her views on Izayuki's new form.  Izayuki pranced off into the building before Taliya grit her teeth and gave off a low growl.
    "Relax Taliya," Anastasia quietly said to her.
    "What's a member of the Moon Tribe doing here?" she asked with anger plainly evident in her voice.  Her words grew raspy while speaking, angered at seeing the Bakedanuki.
    "She doesn't even look like a member of the Moon Tribe, Taliya.  And now isn't the time for that, let's go," she said as Anastasia took a step inward.  Her footsteps weren't followed by Taliya.  Anastasia turned around to see the defiant creature stand still.  The hatred of the Sun Tribe and the Moon Tribe of Taliya's race was extremely strong; as is the belief in most sun-worshiping creatures.  Everything about Taliya had to do with the sun and, in her mind, dealing with someone of the Moon Tribe wasn't something she could do. Even if Izayuki wasn't a member of the Moon Tribe, her appearance looked too similar to them, causing anger to be the triggered response.
    "Screw you, Anastasia!  You can work with that Moon Tribe trash!  You're on your own for this job!" she said as she turned around and bounced off back to the airship.  Anastasia witnessed Taliya run off into the distance, leaving her by herself along with the bakedanuki and death.  Sucking air in between her teeth, Anastasia turned and walked into the house alone.
    While inside, Marceline made mention of the Magic Council.  Anastasia wasn't fond of that organization, having unrealistic expectations or unrealistically high expectations.  Having saved the king on two occasions and saving Earthland from two separate terrorist organizations would have been enough to be acknowledged by the Magic Council; one would think that at least a thank-you would have been drawn out in appreciation of her and everyone else's efforts?  Absolutely not.
    "You have nothing to worry about, Marceline," Anastasia exclaimed.  "I don't work for those pricks."  It was due to the Magic Council and their extremely high expectations that Anastasia stopped caring about them and their potentially corrupt ways and took on the helm of the West Fiore Trading Company; better known as Black Sails.  The facade of the Trading Company was so that they can continue to operate in the open without being seen as scoundrels or 'evil' by the Magic Council's flimsy standards.
    The anger of Taliya's exit finally resided, allowing Anastasia to take in the interior of the house.  Anger turned to awe as she looked around the exquisite looking building.  She didn't sense anything hostile, she didn't hear any eerie voices, nor did she see anything.  No, as a Valkyrie, she could only see those freshly dead and make a contract with only the best warriors to turn them into Einherjar.  This place, however, isn't a battlefield where the strongest warriors could test their mettle in combat; this was merely a home, a rather normal looking and feeling home.
    Anastasia heard Marceline call out to the two and shook her head.  "No, nothing out of the ordinary," she said to the busty raven-haired death.  She was, after all, a normal human with extra-human abilities of summoning things out of a pocket dimension, using her voice to pummel things to a fine powder, and raise the dead.  Nothing out of the ordinary at all.
    The light from the chandelier extinguished for a moment only for the lights on the chandelier to re-ignite themselves.  This caused Anastasia to look up towards the chandelier inquisitively.  Upon closer inspection, the chandeliers had candles, meaning that it most certainly wasn't an electrical failure.  Subtle glowing could be seen surround the area, all moving around as if popping in and out of existence.  This caused a scream to come from Anastasia's lips before she pointed at the collection of lost souls roaming the upper level of the building.
    "Th-th-th-there!" she said to Marceline.  Yes, even if Anastasia messes around with souls, the whole idea of ghosts still spooks the hell out of her.
    Notes
    I've chosen to do Option 3.  But I'll start with that on my next post.
    Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ A Rank
    The voice to call out was undoubtedly from the woman they had seen go into the house. The word ‘strange’ had been used as a casual adjective, not so much an insult. Nevertheless, the raven-haired woman seemed to have something to say about it. Izayuki noted that she did have a point to her words, but had nothing to say in response to it. Death was strange… but also natural, at the same time, at least for mortals. Was a Youkai among those? Typically not, she liked to think. At  the very least, she was not. The other ramblings of the woman, however, made little to no sense. What did ‘strange’ have to do with grievance, heartache, or pain? Sure, they were natural, but they were not talking about death. They were talking about the woman herself. Was she delusional?
    More ramble. As Izayuki listened, however, the logical part of her mind began putting the pieces together and drawing connections. Was this woman implying that she was a Shinigami or Grim Reaper of some sort, to come when others died? She was wrong in assuming that the Bakedanuki and the Russian girl were unable to sense them, at least in the case of the Ayakashi. Izayuki very much could see and sense spirits and souls, though simply refused to acknowledge and activate her power to do so. Using such abilities required her to access her Wonderland magic, a side of her which she loathed and hated. The more she used it, the further she fell into madness, and the more control Alice would gain. Completely going insane or submitting to Alice were two things that she could simply not allow, and if it meant putting herself at the ‘disadvantage’ of not being able to see the dead or even the ghosts of the living, so be it.
    The sadness that suddenly crept into her voice as she spoke as if to the spirits was perplexing, to say the least. The woman began uncrossing her arms and walked away from them, back towards the Decrepit Mansion. Her words were certainly condescending, at least as perceived by the Bakedanuki. Pinky? The insulting name-calling instantly lowered any respect that Izayuki had for the mysterious woman. The tanuki opened her mouth to reply as the silver fur on her ears and tail began to bristle, though decided it was best to go ahead and keep her mouth shut. What good would arguing do right before a job, other than cause division? She knew nothing about the woman, after all, and decided that it was best to not give her a reason to be put on yet another person’s hitlist, despite how tempting it was to argue.
    Finally, the mysterious person would introduce herself by name. The name definitely was lengthy, yet really no longer than Izayuki’s own long, foreign name. Luckily, they were given a nickname to call the woman, which was a fortunate two syllables. Breathing out a sigh as she let out the air that was meant for arguing, the young mage decided to relax and pleasantly introduce herself as well. “My name’s Izayuki Hyoujin. But call me Iza,” she would say as she continued walking towards the Decrepit Mansion herself. Marceline continued with talking as she did so, which made Izayuki perk her ears up in mild surprise and interest.
    Suddenly the name of Marceline Anicetus began to ring the slightest of bells. So that was it; she was a Sinner of Fiore, as dubbed by the Magic Council. Despite being the Guild Master of a legal guild, Izayuki really had no intention of respecting the wishes of those magical dictators. While she would comply with basic rules and guidelines, and try to do her best for the good of people, rather than go against them, the Council still was an irksome topic for her. At the very least, this person would definitely understand, though might not be as willing to trust the leader of a legal guild. As for Anastasia, it seemed like the Russian girl was not a fan of the council either… interesting.
    ”No need to worry. I don’t care if you’re a Sinner or not; I don’t attack unless provoked. It’s as simple as that,” the tanuki girl responded honestly, choosing her words carefully while keeping any solid information on her guild and where her allegiances lied out of her response. The next lines Marceline said were in a foreign language of some sort, though Izayuki could pick out a few words and try to figure out what she meant through the context. ”The Sandman is here… what?” she muttered, more to herself than anything. In her mind, she had already labeled Marceline as an odd one, so what more could be expected from her than ‘strange’ statements. Yes, she would use that adjective again.
    They finally entered and began to take in the amazing sight that was the interior of the mansion. The reaction of Marceline was definitely… different. First, she had been seemingly trying to intimidate them, and now she was behaving like a child. Strange was most certainly the right word to use to describe the Sinner. Izayuki continued to move inward, quietly listening to the babble of the now childlike woman. She cast a glance at Anastasia that was both hesitant and amused, yet decided to begin walking towards the stairs. ”Seems normal so far… I guess we should head up there…”
    Izayuki walked steadily towards the staircase, chuckling slightly as she watched Marceline run up the stairs like a child. Instead of bothering to slowly walk or ungracefully run up the staircase, the Bakedanuki simply used her agility and speed to graciously leap from the floor to the stairwell of the first flight, before taking another leap to complete her fabulous journey to the second floor. She shot an innocent and casual toothy grin at Anastasia, to make sure the other girl was following.
    The sudden question made Izayuki’s smile fade slightly as she thought about it. Daring to no longer entertain her blissful ignorance, the Bakedanuki opened up her senses and did indeed feel the eerie presences, yet only because her magic and keen perception allowed her to. She said nothing yet, however, as Anastasia claimed to not feel anything, and Marceline seemed to degenerate slightly.
    Before anything else could happen, however, the chandelier extinguished itself, only for the candles to suddenly be relit. The sudden scream of Anastasia put Izayuki on edge, making her fur bristle and her flex her clawed fingers, as if awaiting a fight. She instantly noticed the lost souls that were roaming the upper floors, as if they were special effects out of a horror movie. Only, this was reality, not a nightmare.
    She noticed a few beings who were not spirits however, but humans who were perfectly alive, though extremely malnourished and now driven insane by the haunts of the mansion. A few of them began to make their way towards the trio, walking and staring as if they were in a zombie-like state. One held a knife, and suddenly rushed at the Bakedanuki with a crazed look in his eyes. Her ability to sense souls suddenly activating out of instinct, and not to her willingness, Izayuki recognized the human’s soul, but also another’s directly near it. Spirit possession? This would be a pain to deal with.
    The human was quick, but not quick enough as she moved out of the way of the knife and whipped around to knock the human out of the way with her claws. She did not apply enough force to kill him, but enough to knock him over and out as his head hit the marble guardrail of the second floor. More came, three, exactly, only for Izayuki to take a heavy hit to their neck or head to throw them down. Many would come back up, only to be weaker than before. The other six would try to attack Marceline and Anastasia.
    As flexed claws prepared to try to land another hit on a zombie-like lost soul who had risen from the red carpet, Izayuki felt a sudden throbbing and rush of minor pain through her head and body. Instantly, she would back away from the lost soul, cringing slightly. Miraculously, however, the lost soul began to back away as well, turning away to aim an attack for the others- a weak attack that likely would barely deal any damage. The sight was confusing, as the Bakedanuki was unable to understand what had caused it to retreat, at least away from her.
    ~~~

    Her success at slipping into the Ayakashi’s body and mind with her own spirit and soul were successful. With use of her own abilities, Abeo made it so that she would not be sensed deep within the Youkai by the strange death lady or the valkyrie. This was a dangerous trio that she was dealing with, and she would have to tread carefully. If she made the wrong move, she could be discovered and they could attack or try to kill her vessel… at least that would be one off of her hitlist, seeing as removing her spirit from the Bakedanuki would be impossible unless she allowed it.

    Because of her presence within the pink-haired mage, the local Spirits were not so keen on attacking. She would need to hide herself better, as even though she had ordered her Mansion residents not to kill Izayuki, it would draw too much attention to her if they completely avoided the girl. The next step in making progress against the trespassers would be slowly corrupting and consuming the Bakedanuki’s mind, and eventually, her soul. The Black Rose mage was already cringing and cowering in pain periodically, though putting up a shield so the others would not notice. Not only that, but Abeo skillfully applied an illusion to anyone who saw the triggers of pain… it would appear as though nothing was wrong with Izayuki. She was fighting, just as they were, and being attacked.

    This was working perfectly… and once Abeo had consumed Izayuki’s body and mind, the soul would be hers, and she could finally deal with that one person who she had known all her life, yet never known at all. Her own mother - Alice.

    Marceline Anicetus
    Where Anastasia’s finger pointed upward, the young woman only partially moved to gaze up at the chandelier where ghosts swarmed. She blinked, only mildly interested with the ordeal, before shifting to glance back at Anastasia like she was the silliest person she had ever met. A big, wide grin was plastered on her face, as though she was amused by the startled Russian woman and her reaction to seeing spirits. Pressing herself off of the railing of the staircase, she breathed in deeply and let out an airy chuckle, leaning slightly back and pulling herself back to her full weight. “You startle easily at the paranormal, don’t you?” Marceline inquired, the question directed toward the pirate fleet’s captain. One thing was certain, she hadn’t yet met a person who was easily scared by ghosts and the supernatural like Anastasia was. As far as she was aware, they were harmless spirits that couldn’t do much more than pass through them and give them the chills.

    The chandelier softly flickered as the anomalies passed through the flames of the candles, forcing them to momentarily go out before relighting. Marcy’s red irises flicked back toward the chandelier, catching it as the flames went out briefly and were quickly set aflame again. Her gaze was drawn toward the lost souls on the second level the stairs had brought her to, watching as they meandered toward her. They almost seemed harmless, like their only intent was to find a way out of this hellhole that had become their new home. However, some of those lost souls had redirected themselves and were heading toward the stairwell that Anastasia, Izayuki, and she stood upon. Narrowing her eyes, the woman moved off the stairs and into the hallway in which the lost souls were trudging slowly through. One of her slender hands reached outward and across in a straight line, and a black mist appeared at the palm of the hand.

    It shifted around until it took on the silhouette of a scythe, and slowly, color began to flow down it until it was brought into reality. Her bony fingers wrapped tightly around the handle of the scythe and spun it until it was facing upright and in a poised and ready stance. She had expected the souls to head straight for her, considering a Grim Reaper, such as herself, was a way to escape what one called Limbo. However, four of the lost souls had split off from the group and headed for Izayuki instead, launching well planned attacks against her. Marceline’s first instinct was to head over there to help her, but Izayuki was quick on her feet and easily took care of two of the four that were attacking her. Seeing no reason to help the bakedanuki, her attention was brought back to the six remaining lost souls heading Anastasia’s and her way. Pressing back on one of her feet, the woman prepared herself for the onslaught of attacks that they would receive upon confrontation.

    While not the sharpest tool in the shed, the spirits were former souls who clearly knew how to fight when they felt something posed as a danger. They had no other type of weapon other than their hands and feet, and from what she could guess, they didn’t know how to utilize them very well. Three of the spirits split off from the ground and came her way, rushing her with raised fists and aimed attacks like they could hit her. However, the physical blows merely went through her, as if her own form was immaterial, while theirs had become material. Marceline swung her scythe across and out in front of herself, cutting through the torsos of the spirits and managing to split them in half. Her weapon being a double-headed scythe, she merely swung it the back way around, once again slicing through the spirits as if they were nothing. This managed to chop them up into little pieces, but their bodies were immaterial and wispy, able to reform at a moment’s notice.

    Frustrated by this, she raised her free hand and fired off a series of spikes, materializing from the ground up in a sickly mesh of black and purple. The spikes impaled each of the spirits that stood in her way, raising them from the ground as wispy droplets of airy blood fell to the ground. Seconds later, the spikes completely disappeared, leaving nothing, but the injured forms of the spirits laying on the ground in a pool of their own “blood.” “Du verursachst mich zu lachen mit du versuchst zu kämpfst mich,” she called out to the spirits as if they would respond to her, “tust du nicht merken was du bist kämpfen gegen?” Dark laughter filled the air shortly after her one-sided conversation with the spirits before several, insect-like creatures materialized. Waving her hand slightly, Marceline informed said creatures on what to do with the spirits that lay still upon the ground. They, obeying her silent orders, moved in toward the spirits as they slowly began to rise up from the ground of their own accord.

    These bug-like creatures swarmed over the spirits and quickly grabbed them, forcing them into an orb like form before bringing them toward Marceline. One by one, the orbs would be dropped onto her, soaking into her skin as if they were some sort of soap or lotion smeared into the skin. She reached out toward one of the insects and scratched at its chin lightly, cooing at it softly before it immaterialized and seemingly disappeared. “Well, that was fun!” she exclaimed, as if expecting the other two to be finished dealing with their opponents and moving onto what was next. “They were quite delicious, too! I wonder what else this house has to offer for food because I could certainly dine here again!” That toothy and wide grin was once again plastered on Marceline’s face as she looked to Anastasia and Izayuki for interest. Whether she got some sort of response or not was yet to be told, expecting them to be busy or not busy was something she couldn’t predict.

    Even Valkyries
    Are Afraid of Ghosts, right?

    A toothy grin from the bakedanuki was given to her for a moment before Ana's own blood-curdling scream.  The sight of lost souls and broken people in the distance caused Anastasia to instantly panic.  Marceline's taunt didn't go unheard, however, something about fear started to grip Anastasia more and more with each passing movement.  Her heart rate accelerated to faster than normal speed, Anastasia grabbed the side of her head and sat upon her heels.  Terror began to overcome her.  This isn't like her.  Normally terror is something she was able to contain, helping her out of a dangerous situation.  It had never taken hold of her so intensely that she was unable to move.  "This isn't real.  This isn't real," Anastasia kept chanting to herself, closing her eyes shut extremely tight.  Her words came upon deaf ears as a bright white light appeared directly in front of her, causing a creature to appear directly in front of her.
    The sounds of the tormented being torn to bits my Izayuki and Marceline could be heard from the cowering Anastasia.  Anastasia shook her head.  "This isn't like me.  You're not normally scared like this, Anastasia, get a grip on yourself," Anastasia said to herself before the sound of a mighty roar could be heard directly in front of her.  As Izayuki and Marceline got to work on their lost souls, one wielding claws and the other one wielding the Grim Reaper's scythe, Anastasia noticed the dark creature before her.  It's shape was familiar.  Similar to that of the Hymn; The Beast Who Devoured the Sun.  However, it's strange black coloring made it look like the Beast Who Devoured the Darkness.  Something about the blackness of the creature purely intrigued Anastasia.

    Another mighty roar could be heard from the creature as it sent out a shockwave from it's roar, causing parts of the Lost Souls to disintegrate upon impact, only affecting targets deemed as enemies; ensuring that Izayuki and Marceline (and their compatriots, if applicable) are safe from the damaging effects of the roar.  The Lost Souls that started to attack Anastasia continued to claw their way towards Anastasia only for the creature to walk over to them and quickly stomp them upon their skulls.  A huffing sound could be heard from The Hymn before more sounds of combat could be heard.  The violence of fighting these otherworldly creatures continued to grab a hold of Anastasia before her eyes turned to Marceline, seeing a bunch of creepy crawlies (the soul collectors) causing her eyes to grow wide.

    Anastasia eye-balled the insect like creatures and looked at them in awe. Normally, she is deathly afraid of insects.  Shaking her head, she cleared her throat and jumped upon the Hymn.  "Those are some interesting bugs, aren't they?" Anastasia asked as the creature let out another roar before pouncing onto a group of the Vengeful psyches.  The creature attempted to run a claw over one of the psyches only to see it's claws fade right through the creature.  It pawes at the same creature again only for the strike to go through the strange apparition.

    "Something's not right," Anastasia stated before clearing her throat.  Clearing her throat, she stood on the back of the black lion and lunged out towards one of the wisps, tranforming into a scaled down version of her Dragon Armor, equipped with the Dragon Fangs in mid-air before attempting to slam a fist into the creatures, once again, to no avail.  Her change in personality also changed her ability to reason and come to conclusions quickly using her brain.  Nope!  This mansion is causing her to think with her muscles instead of her brain.

    Anastasia landed and scooted back, trying to figure out why these things aren't taking any damage from her Dragon Fangs.  Normally, the Dragon Fangs would instantly obliterate a target pretty effectively, but due to the strange properties of the creature (and her thinking with her muscles instead of her brain due to the Mansion's influence) she can't seem to land a strike.  Anastasia stomps her feet like an immature child and starts to throw a fit.  "Just die already!" she said as she swung her Dragon Fangs once more towards a wisp only for the wisps to look completely confused at what's happening.

    After the initial confusion ended, the creature lunged out towards Anastasia only for her to block the attack with a barrier spell, causing Anastasia to step back once more.  Her brain isn't functioning at 100% thanks to the Mansion's curse.  This is making battling so much more difficult for Anastasia than it should.

    The Hymn, the black lion summon of Anastasia's, covered it's claws in a poison and swiped it's claws at the wisp that attacked Anastasia, only for the poison to get stuck in the wisp, allowing the Hymn's claws to pass through.  The poison started to cause the wisp to stumble backwards in agony.  Anastasia saw this and thoughts began to run through her head, trying to figure out what happened.  However, nothing seemed to be clicking in Anastasia's head.

    As another wisp, one of the three that had made it's way towards Anastasia lunged at Ana, the front door to the mansion broke upon and a body of fire hurled directly into the wisp only for Taliya to be stopped by the Vengeful Psyche.  Taliya landed on her feet and looked at Anastasia with an inquisitive look.  "What's wrong with you, Cap'n!?  Snap out of it, you idiot!" Taliya said in a loud voice.  Taliya spit on the ground as she turned to look towards the bakedanuki with a look of annoyance.  Her focus shifted to the large lion-like creature only to look towards Anastasia.  "So that's why your boobs got bigger," she said.

    Taliya prepared for a heavy thwack on the top of the head only for Anastasia to make gesures as if she wasn't in a mecha.  This was a bit weird to Taliya.  "Wake up, stupid!  We have company!" Taliya shouted out to Anastasia as the 2 remaining psyches started making their way towards the trio.
    Notes

    Option 3, Ahoy!  However, I don't know how to do Option 3's personality part as Ana's personality is pretty diverse ranging from absolutely terrified to heroic and domineering.  So, forgive me T-T

    Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ A Rank

    More pain shot through Izayuki’s head and chest as she was eventually brought to her knees. Though not attacked, she found herself unable to fight, and not capable of pinpointing what was causing this. Eventually, the tanuki’s vision began to grow blurry, and right from where she kneeled, she further collapsed on the ground, going unconscious. The spirits around her did not bother with her any longer, and the weaker lost souls would simply assume that she was dead, having fallen in battle.

    She was unable to see the internal conversation between the two Daemons within her soul, though she could certainly sense them. Unfortunately, she was unable to do anything about it, and unable to assist her job companions. Powerless and helpless… yet barely even able to notice that.
    The other ‘queen’ of the mansion was beginning to take notice of the action, namely the three who were still standing and somewhat fighting. The effects of the mansion seemed to be influencing at least one of them, while Abeo possessed the fallen Bakedanuki.

    ♦ ♦ ♦

    “And what brings a little intruder like you all the way here?” the voice asked, unheard by those around. They were still safely inside Izayuki’s mind, though the Bakedanuki herself was not quite aware of the new foreign being who they were confronting, at least yet.
    The darkness of the mind was a strange place overall. In this case, it was not quite dark, but all edges of that strange world were paper white now, no longer the pitch black that the golden-blonde haired spirit had become accustomed to. Despite the darkness, or the vast white, there was no real light coming from anywhere in that mysterious place. Nevertheless, any beings there were seen perfectly, as if they were in full sunlight with no shadows or shading to be cast. Within that space, a white mist seemed to cover the ground and shroud specific beings.

    This was unlike the darkness that the spirits of Wonderland were used to. The space in the mind that the souls had grown to know was dark and still, with no noise and no light. Time never seemed to pass, but if they absolutely wanted, they could see what Izayuki saw, and sense everything that she did. The seven were trapped away inside of her soul, after all, and though each spirit wanted full control of their host, the new queen of Wonderland, they had been unable to take a hold of the chance while it had been within their reach. They were naught but tools after all, only to be used to give their vessel power when she so desired. They were one side of the contract that the youkai had made, though they had no say in it, nor the ability to do anything about it.

    The Daemon had taken each of them, one by one, and had offered them the power of ‘Wonderland’ in exchange for their soul. In the end, none of the spirits could handle it, and eventually fell to the madness of the insanity-based power. Upon doing so, they became a part of it, and the power of Wonderland was passed onto somebody else. It was a cruel fate, and a despairing one as well. There was no way to escape it once they had already taken the power and agreed to allow the Daemon claim to their soul. Before long, they would be consumed by Wonderland, making it stronger, as it passed around to infect the souls of new people with its madness.

    In time, all seven knew that Izayuki would eventually succumb to the madness too. There was no hope, and no salvation. She had made the contract with the Daemon, Alice, who had thrust the souls and power of Wonderland into Izayuki’s soul and spirit, to become the new vessel. Some of the spirits would try to take control of their new host and reclaim the power of Wonderland for themselves, while others simply wanted to be free of it. A few had given up, and allowed their power to be used, no longer seeing any hope or reason to continue trying. It was futile, and it was their own fault. They were caught in the web of Wonderland, and there was no escape from the darkness of it all.

    In the end, Alice controlled it. She decided who would be the next host, and would make a contract with the person, surprisingly with full consent. While she withheld the specific details of what happened after one fell into the madness, she was at no fault there. She was very upfront about what receiving the power would entail. They were giving up their very soul to her, after all, and would no longer even have real ownership of it. They would allow themselves to be puppets to her will, and all of them had agreed to it willingly, blinded by the promise of power. Izayuki was no exception, though she had been somewhat specific about why she wanted power, and how she would not have been content unless the power went far enough to do as she desired. Her goal was to kill the goddess of ice, the north, and the cold, Yukionna.

    To do so, Izayuki was slowly unlocking and furthering her control over the powers of Wonderland, having recently discovered her ability to now use not only the Cheshire Cat, Bandersnatch, and Queen of Hearts, but now the Mad Hatter as well. She had yet to achieve a few of the soul powers, though her speed in growing in strength had been impressive to at least some of the spirits. It would not be long before her descent into madness was complete. She was getting closer.

    The seven spirits quickly noticed the sudden presence of Alice and the other foreign half-of-a-soul that she carried with her. All were eager to find the space where Alice was, all for their own intentions. However, none of them could locate the Daemon. Before long, another presence could also be sensed. It was Daemonic in nature, though not quite the same as Alice, despite being similar. Out of instinct, the spirits would trace through the spaces and pockets of the inner world of Izayuki, looking for the trespasser. Was it a foreign thing to destroy or cast out, or perhaps a means to an end in their goals?

    Bandersnatch was the keenest of the seven, and quickly tracked down the presence that was new and obviously unwelcome. She had long and wavy, raven-colored hair with almost a violet tint, and bright crimson eyes. Out from her dark hair protruded two tiny crystalline horns that were light cyan in color. However, her stature was small, and her frame was delicate, as if she were a child. She wore a dress that was black over the chest, and lavender past that. Nothing covered her shoulders, though she wore long and intricate fingerless gloves that appeared to be made of a thick black lace. She was barefoot, and kept her childlike demeanor, smiling softly with two tiny fangs protruding from the top of her mouth.

    The Wonderland spirit narrowed his hazel eyes at the stranger, approaching her with both hands in his pocket. He was a decent hand to hand fighter, though his primary ability likely would not come in handy this time around, if the girl proved to be hostile. “State your name and business,” he demanded, his voice rough and firm. He was in no mood to play around, and because he was one of the weaker spirits, all he had going for him was his wit- he had found this newcomer first, after all, before any of the others.

    “Interesting… so I was right; this Bakedanuki has a legion of others inside of it,” the girl commented, chuckling softly. “Yet you all reek of ‘her’ aura. Why is that?”

    In no mood for games, Bandersnatch ignored her question and continued on. “I am not telling you anything until I know who you are and why you’re here,” he said, narrowing his hazel gaze further.
    “Right, right,” the Queen of the Mansion said, huffing slightly in a childish manner. “No need to be so hostile. My name is Abeo, and I’m looking for a specific spirit here- her name is Ecclesia, or Invidia. Though you might know her by another name, I’m sure.”

    Bandersnatch sighed, relieved that things did not have to get ugly, at least so far. “I’m sorry to inform you, but here is nobody here that goes by that name,” he said calmly. “I’m going to have to ask you to leav--”

    “Wait,” another voice said, sounding from behind. Turning his head, hazel eyes widened as he recognized the form of the Daemon who had ensnared him and the others in her web. She had golden-blonde hair, and cold, azure-blue eyes, and appeared to be wearing a short white skirt with a black top, which was rather casual, though expected.

    “Alice…?” Bandersnatch asked, staring at the blonde in surprise. It was rare that she ever showed herself to the other spirits. Was it for fear of their anger against her, or was she just annoyed by the pettiness? He knew firsthand of what she was capable of, and avoided the mobs of madness, for fear of what she could do.

    “Leave us, and don’t you dare linger around to watch,” Alice replied, not bothering to respond to her name being said, nor would she make any threats after her command. He of all spirits knew better than to disobey her; she was serious, and could make his existence be even more of a living hell than it already was. Without another word, the brown-haired boy simply nodded and began to walk away, only to hear a final demand as he began to make his exit. “And tell the others to stay away, or else.”

    He heard her words as he vanished from sight, leaving both Alice and Abeo alone. The Wonderland spirits knew the consequences, or at least some of them did. A few of the others had yet to learn, but that was besides the point. Placing her focus on Abeo, Alice’s blue gaze softened as a tiny grin grew on her lips. “I’ve been expecting you, but don’t you know it’s rude to possess another Daemon’s prey?” she questioned, blinking at the smaller girl.

    “You’re in my territory now, so I can do as I like,” Abeo responded in an innocent manner, letting off a small genuine smile. “Which one are you right now, anyway? Invidia, or Ecclesia?”

    Alice’s smile subsided as Abeo asked the question. The answer to her own had been understandable, but the rest… was the Half-Daemon really that keen? How did she know that she was once two separate entities, suddenly merged into one? She operated as a fully functioning single entity, though her personality tended to takes swings. Was it becoming that obvious? “It is not one or the other… we both are one being now. Just call me Alice.”

    “It isn’t that simple,” Abeo responded, her smile growing to a cheekier one. “My real mother wouldn’t act as you are now… so... passive. So you have to be Ecclesia, right?”

    The Daemon clenched her teeth as the child saw right through her. Invidia was the one who was Abeo’s real mother, in a way. While Ecclesia, a mortal, had been cast to the void, Invidia, the Daemon of Envy, possessed her physical body to assume leadership of the group she had once been in charge of. While pretending to be Ecclesia, Invidia had hooked up with a trusted Advisor, Theo… though the children they conceived never were born. Ecclesia had found her way out of the void where Invidia had imprisoned her, and in a freak accident, had accidentally merged her own soul and spirit with Invidia’s.

    Later on, the mortal body’s mind went insane, unable to handle the influence of the two merged spirits. Driven by insanity, she had started a war from her rash actions, and was killed in it; thus, the children in her womb had died as well. They were triplets- Abeo, Jackie, and Lucie. Unlike the others, however, Abeo had become a conscious spirit, and had managed to absorb some of the parent’s power. Yet here she was, striving for attention from the mother she never really had, and all those blue eyes before her saw was an unwanted nuisance.

    “So what if I’m Ecclesia?” the Daemon began to respond, picking her words carefully. “If I am, doesn’t that just prove the fact that I’m stronger than my other half?”
    “Maybe your personality is… but without her, you would be nothing,” Abeo replied with a lighthearted shrug. “Anyways, why are you here in my domain, I should ask.”

    It was tempting for the blonde to lash out her full Daemonic force on the child as the words were beyond agitating. Despite her anger, however, Alice forced herself to keep calm, and ignore the irritating taunts and jabs. “The Bakedanuki was requested by local humans to check up on this disturbing mansion… which is no more than just a dreamy playground for you, is it not? You’re sitting here pretending to be the leader of the Decrepit Mansion, a territory that I used to govern, and you would have been the heir of if we had lived. But no, we both were killed, and now you make a fake one to play ‘queen of the castle’... what a cute, pathetic fantasy,” Alice said, with little expression on her face. She only spoke the truth… but how would the child react? Now she was curious.

    “You… you know nothing,” Abeo said, her smile having faded and her eyes now shaded over as she clenched her fists. “It’s your fault I died! If you would have just stayed in that void then things wouldn’t be like this! Mother wouldn’t have gone insane and we could have lived a real life!”

    “Hell if I care,” Alice replied abruptly. “Invidia stole what was mine, and used my body for her own desires. And in the end, she destroyed it; I was only trying to take it back, and that was when our souls collided.”
    “You were the one who allowed Invidia to take your body. She already warned you what would happen if you…” Abeo fired back, all of the previous smiles and teasing gone, and replaced by fiery anger in her crimson eyes.

    “Again, I don’t give a damn. What happened in the past doesn’t matter anymore, but it seems like you can’t move on past that,” Alice said, breathing out an agitated sigh, before thinking about her statements more and smirking slightly. “Look at me now… I have more power than I know what to do with because of what happened. I gave up on having regrets- they were a waste of time. Invidia is a part of me now, and I’m a part of her, and because of that, I have all the power I could ever want. Now what makes you think I care about a kid I never had? You’re not my child.”

    The words stung as they were thrown at Abeo without remorse. The small Half-Daemon had visible tears forming in her bright red eyes. She had no idea what had triggered her, as she had few developed emotions. Was it simply the fact that the soul of her mother had denied her? “I hate you…” she murmured, an icy venom laced in her youthful voice.

    “Good. I never really cared about you in the first place,” Alice said apathetically, shrugging. “Let’s leave it at that. You leave this soul, and I’ll leave your fantasy.”
    “Fine” Abeo replied, her voice still cold and her eyes once again shaded over as she backed away. “But I’m not leaving completely. I’m staying with this Youkai you’ve contracted with until I see Invidia again… I’m done playing with this dollhouse.”

    ♦ ♦ ♦

    A mysterious crimson amulet would appear around the Bakedanuki’s neck on a silver string as she lied there, unconscious to the physical world, and panicking within the depths of her own mind. Abeo knew that she would never be able to remain inside of Izayuki’s soul, with the threat of Alice, and the stronger spirits of Wonderland, such as Jabberwocky and the White Rabbit. The amulet would act as armor in a way, but would house the Half-Daemon’s soul. With luck, Izayuki would leave the mansion alive, taking Abeo with her, as the amulet would be unable to be removed unless the spirit wished for it to be.

    Slowly, Izayuki reopened her pink eyes, confused and dazed, and not yet noticing the new object around her neck. Beginning to try to push herself up, suddenly confused as to where she was and why she was there, before quickly recalling what had happened. Pushing herself to her feet, still drowsy, the tanuki poised herself to fight again, having the effects of the possession slowly wear off.

    Anastasia!
    Use Splash!

    Anastasia snapped out of the strange personality shift that she had a moment ago and cleared her throat, looking towards Taliya.  Anastasia was taking a gamble with this one; as Taliya was still fighting against the ghouls and other dark beings within this haunted manor.  With a snap of her fingers, Anastasia's Dragon Armor and Dragon Fangs appeared on Taliya, having her stay relatively the same size as she was before wearing the armor.  The ability to change the size of the armor was a big deal with her, as she could now use all of her armors wherever she wanted to.

    Loud fanfare could be heard from Taliya.  "Finally, I'm able to use this armor!  Hell yeah!" Taliya said before turning to look up towards Anastasia to thank her, only to see a shark in the place of Anastasia.  The shark bounced up and down, flopping around, making 'splat' noises as it flopped around.  The blend of emotions upon Taliya's face was mixed as she knew how scary sharks were, but seeing on out of the water just struggling to move was actually quite funny.  It was even funnier that the shark had replaced Anastasia; meaning that the shark WAS Anastasia.

    With a quick swing of the armor's fist, she grabbed one of the lost souls and crushed it within the Dragon Fangs, instantly splitting it in half.  Taliya would laugh in between each and every slain creature that came her way as the shark started to flop around more and more.  "Of all things, Ana, you turn into that?" This would be the time when the creature would shout some loud expletives and bash Taliya over the top of the head.  However, in that strange form, Anastasia.  Anastasia, however, quickly moved from her place on the top banister of the house where she was originally fighting over towards where more of the monsters were.  Even in the form of a shark, she was still able to blink.

    Several magic circles start to surround Anastasia as multi-colored nano-machines surround the 'now-shark' Anastasia.  One of the nano-machine programs that Anastasia activated gave her additional strength while the other one gave her a shadow strike with each strike.   It wasn't until Taliya saw the bakedanuki fall to her knees that Taliya's attention went from amusement, to disbelief, to 'oh crap, things are getting real'.  Anastasia couldn't say a thing in response to this except to flop and flounder around a bit more, striking at more faceless, indescriptive mobs during this whole ordeal.  What made this even weirder was that after she fell to her knees, the creatures started to ignore her.

    "Great, give up now, won't you Moon Clan?" Taliya said, still sticking to her guns that the bakedanuki was a member of the Moon Clan.  She wasn't, however, proven wrong nor did anyone tell her she was incorrect in her assumption.  Taliya started to attack the Vengeful Psyches, only for her dragon fangs to go right through them.  "Tch.  Physical attacks don't work on them, let's try something else," she said as she reeled the dragon fangs back in and opened the fangs up to reveal a cannon-like structure in the jaws of the dragon and ignited it, dousing the vengeful psyches with super heated plasma.  After dousing them with the super heated plasma, Taliya closed the fangs and pointed them straight at the trio of Vengeful Psyches, covering the weapon in the super heated plasma.  With a quick launch of the fangs, they went flying towards the spirits and striking at them as well, dealing damage.  Upon reeling the weapons in, Taliya began to sweat a bit.

    "Oh, what the hell!  How durable ARE these things!?" Taliya said as the Vengeful Psyche started to chase after Taliya, causing Taliya to turn tail and run, drawing them away from the Shark Anastasia and the embodiment of 'The Hymn' in the shape of a black lion.  The Shark's eyes shifted towards Taliya and her antics while playing around with the overpowered opponents.  The shark continued to flop around.  Strange how the shark isn't dying due to oxygen deprivation; but that's the power of magic for you.  Regardless of that fact, Sharkastasia took a bite out of one of the lost souls and spat a bit, rolling around at how nasty that taste was.

    Upon tasting the flesh of the Lost Soul, she began to ponder her life and the direction it might take.  A new direction as the king of the sharks.  She was already marked by Fujisame, already taking the cursed mark by him; allowing herself to breathe underwater easily -- so the fact that she was turned into a shark must have been influence of that curse.  But her lamentation continued into internal monologue.

    Dear Mother and Father,
    Do not think ill of me.  I left home to become a pirate at a young age, wanting action and an adventurous life.  I had given the life of a pirate up to become a mage only to run into a lot of people I didn't like.  Akeya and Akryn were both douchebags that made me cry on several occasions.  I liked Shuhei, he was really nice.  But I left them and became a member of Team Four Star only to eventually become a pirate once again.  A pirate captain, might I add.  I am in charge of a powerful group of individuals who want the same as I do and we aren't complete assholes doing it either.

    I have been turned into a man before, only for the curse to fade away, and now I have been cursed with being a creature I (and most others) absolutely fear.  I have been turned into that of a shark.  I can, however, still use magic; but not the magic I had trained to use.  Do not think ill of me because I have become a shark.  If anything, consider this a blessing as I shall become the Queen of the seas.  I have the intelligence of a human, the fiercest bite in all of the oceans, and I am capable of still using magic.  If you do not see me come home after this job, please know that I am safe.  I will be patrolling the oceans and killing threats that would bring harm to our world by communicating with fish and other marine wildlife.

    I can and will be the Queen of the Ocean.  While my life on-land is over, please do not fret.  I shall meet with you every year on my birthday.  Untill then, adieu.

    Your Shark Daughter
    - Anastasia Isayev

    Anastasia's lamentation came to an end when Taliya could be seen running towards her, with the three creatures that had been chasing her still on her tail.  The shark's eyes opened wide.  No, Sharkastasia wasn't agile while on-land, so her capability to dodge these creatures remained limited.  All Anastasia could do was roll over and roll over she did, flattening the Vengeful Psyches for a brief moment before they got up and started to pursue after Taliya once again.

    Notes

    Option 6, Yaaaaaay =.=
    Decided that Option 6 was more fun.
    I also had a lot of words to catch up on, so um. I decided to make this post to help me catch up. Proper response will be in my next post.

    Marceline Anicetus
    Hey lady killa, come right in
    It's time for you, let the show begin

    That toothy grin slowly began to fade away from Marceline’s lips, noticing that both Izayuki and Anastasia were preoccupied by other things. Izayuki was borderline psychotic, driven to the depths of insanity by her own thoughts and the voices in her head, just to the left. Anastasia was overwhelmed with fear, the sensation of fleeing from the scene stronger than her “fight back” sense, just in front of her. It was a disappointment to see that neither of them were paying attention to her, both of them were fighting their own inner demons. Whereas, she felt completely fine, she wasn’t affected by the looming home’s effects at all; in fact, she hadn’t even noticed a change in the aura of the place. If this was what it meant to be a Grim Reaper, then she could surely survive the heart-wrenching scenes that would occur throughout her lifetime. The emotions that she lacked, the thought that nothing would ever happen to her because of her current status, that’s what it meant to be a Grim Reaper.

    You're so pretty, dripping sin
    (You feelin it? You feelin it?)

    Her red optics flicked between the bakedanuki and the pirate fleet captain, narrowing slightly as she pondered how useful they were to her. However, thought after thought only led her to believe that they were a waste of space and she was better off continuing the mission on her own. She didn’t need a cripple with her, someone who wasn’t stable in the mind and was constantly fighting with herself for control. Nor did she need someone who was completely terrified of stepping any further into the building than they had already gone into. The both of them would hold her back on her endeavors and that. . . that was the last thing she needed on a mission like this. Marceline’s features hardened, staring down the both of them minute by minute until she turned away from their sorry asses back to the hallway. Empty. After the short battle between the Lost Souls and the monsters that roamed through the house, it was completely dead silent.

    Your eyes are screaming, I take the stage
    A fatal dance, a primal rage

    “I see no reason in staying here any longer,” the woman thought to herself, eyes narrowed into the depths of the shadows of the hallway. “If they are just going to fight with their inner demons and be as useless as they are being in these fights, what reason is there to stick by them?” A frown appeared on Marceline’s lips, the ache and want to leave this place overwhelming her like the fear Anastasia felt inside of her. But also, the want to stay near these rather helpless ninnies and keep them safe dwelled within the confines of her inner state. It was a strange feeling, certainly, one she hadn’t experienced for people that she could have cared very little for from the start. However, whether she was a Sinner or not, a person of evil or good, they were her job partners and she couldn’t just leave them behind. Unfortunately, she would have to remain here, and hope that only the best would occur and that nothing would happen to them.

    You pray for me, unlock the cage
    (You feelin it? You feelin it?)

    Marcy’s gaze wandered back to Izayuki, staring at her downed form on the floor and wondering if she was all right or if she needed medical attention. It wasn’t but a few seconds later that the young woman would rise slowly back to her feet in a staggering manner, leaving Marceline unable to do anything. Not that she would’ve done anything in the first place, as all of her healing techniques and buffing abilities came with a heft price. Ones that weren’t from her, but prices that would later be paid by those who were granted the effects cast by her deadly spells. With Izayuki seemingly all right, her attention was drawn back to the Russian woman that had joined the bakedanuki and the reaper on their adventure. She seemed perfectly fine as well, aside from the immense fear that she was experiencing from who knows what, Marceline couldn’t even guess. Yet, she found herself taking a step toward the pirate captain, cocking an eyebrow at her before coming to stop a foot in front of her.

    I think you ready, you want a show?
    You wanna hear me? Good to go

    She lifted a hand and gently waved it in front of Anastasia’s face, then gave a brief smile once the woman had her attention on her. “Are dou all right?” she inquired, tilting her head slightly and taking a step back to give the Russian woman more room to herself. “I realize dat as daunting ov a task as dis is. . . it can be ofervhelming at times, ja? If dou need zu take a break for a bit, dat ist all right.” The smile briefly came back, assuring Anastasia that she needn’t fear anything that was lurking within the shadows of the home. “‘Do not know vhat ist vrong vid dis place, unsure if place ist. . . er. . . has strange aura around it dat affects people like dou oder not.” Marceline gave a small shrug of her shoulders and giggled slightly before turning away from Anastasia and heading down the hallway. Something about the pirate woman that had Marcy’s attention more than the bakedanuki? Perhaps there was, or perhaps she just didn’t like animals.

    (Eat the male, Kill, Eat the male)
    I think you ready, you want a show?

    Of course, the woman didn’t get much farther than a few steps before a fishy smell overwhelmed her senses and caused her to look back. Anastasia wasn’t much of a woman anymore, by the looks of the changes that had undergone the thing now in her job partner’s place. She stared at it with a rather confounded look on her face, baffled by the sudden change in the woman she had just spoken to. No words came out of her mouth, rather she looked to Izayuki to see if she had noticed the change in the woman as well. Perhaps she was just going insane and was starting to see things now, and Izayuki would only confirm her craziness she was displaying. Otherwise, she wasn’t entirely certain how to take this change to the woman, let alone whether she was even seeing something truthful or not. Marceline pursed her lips, scrunched her eyebrows together for a moment, then whirled around on her feet, facing away from Anastasia; she did not want to deal with this right now.

    You wanna hear me? Good to go
    Love me 'til you're dead, I will not forget

    “Vhy are dou continuing zu hang around dem? Don’t dou see how useless dey are to dou? I mean, dey’re so padetic looking,” the voice in her head spoke up. “Look at dem. Dou’fe got a voman who dinks she’s a shark for vho knows vhat Gott’s reasoning ist, und ze oder ist completely unconscious. Dou keep looking at dem as if dey’re going to be some kind of use zu dou, yet dou’re as blindsided as a bat in ze light.” At the voice’s words, the woman pouted slightly, crossing her arms over her chest and tapping her foot lightly on the flooring. “Vell, Meister, dou unterstant dat no matter how useless dey are, dey are meine job partners; Ich can’t just leaf dem behind!”“Leaf dem behind, Marceline; dey’re about as useful to you as dog’s scheisse. Dere’s no reason zu be keeping them around you. After all, dey’ll just hold dou back on dings.” Marceline sighed at Death’s words and gave a small nod of her head in acknowledgement.

    You'll still love me dead or alive
    (dead or alive, dead or alive)

    Without a single glance backward toward the unconscious Izayuki and the fishy woman that had once been Anastasia, Marceline walked away. They could deal with their own things on their own time; if they wanted to waste it trying to get rid of it here on the job, that was fine as well. She would simply go on ahead of herself because she was certain they weren’t quite done here in this castle of monsters and nightmares. An eerie feeling still crawled along her spine, clawing at the earthen flesh of her body as she wandered deeper into the corridor. Her red eyes lit aglow again with their silver pupils against the fiery irises, scanning over the emptiness that loomed before her. No sign of Lost Souls or monsters that roamed the area, it was just complete and utter silence after the dispute from earlier in the house. A maniacal grin spread across her lips in an almost snakish way, “hide all dou want, little girl. . . I can sense dou in here.”

    Love me 'til you're dead, this is what you get
    You'll still love me, dead or alive

    “What makes you think I was hiding from you? Perhaps, I was just watching you from the shadows, waiting for my time to come,” a child’s voice echoed out. Marceline stood where she was and listened to the voice that reverberated through the hallway, her eyes glancing around to catch glimpses of her. “You entered my home uninvited, so I just sent out a few henchmen to deal with the issue, but I see that you’re much stronger than I expected.” She frowned and tilted her head some as she listened to the little girl speaking, as if she was some sort of royalty within the home. “Who do dou dink dou are?” Marceline inquired, narrowing her eyes at the shadows where she saw a bit of movement within them. “Dis ist just a home dat has many lost souls vidin it, trapped if I must say; I merely came here zu take care of ze lost souls. Are dou going zu try und stop me from doing vhat ist considered my job? Dou’re just a child acting as though dou own dis olt builting.”

    (dead or alive, dead or alive)
    (I-I- you feelin it?)

    From the shadows came a small child, standing tall and regal, as though she was some sort princess to the home they were in. “You make me laugh. Are you trying intimidate me and act as if you’re some sort of big and bad Grim Reaper out to get me? Pathetic,” Silica stated. Marceline gritted her teeth and clenched her fists together, quite frustrated by the eccentric nature of the childlike spirit before her. “Und who are dou zu say such dings toward me? Dou’re just a spirit a lost as ze oder spirits are, so shut up and dink before dou speak.” She stretched out her hand and from the shadows came forth her weapon again, spinning it in her hand before facing it toward Silica. “Insolent child. . . do not make fun of ze Grim Reaper,” she snapped out, swinging her blade in the direction of the girl. However, Silica’s form was instantly swept through and only wisps of where she had once been standing remained in her place.

    So here we are, make your move
    We're going mad, I'll help our groove

    “Dou stupid, little brat!” she called out, swinging her scythe into the darkness of the corridor, cutting through the emptiness in front of her. She heaved a breath of exasperation and let it out slowly, coming to stand in an “at attention” stance, looking around the room. “Don’t dink dou can hide from me, little girl,” she once more called out, listening intently to her surroundings for the spirit. A shiver ran down her spine and she whirled on her toes, facing the direction where she had felt the trickling feeling of someone behind her. Silica grinned at her and slashed her hand outward, sending a breeze-like substance of magical essence in the woman’s direction. Marcy ducked and disappeared from sight, reappearing behind the ghost and slashing at her as well, with the tip of her scythe. Pushing her back toward the others was the next step she had to do, but doing that would take a while from the strength Silica exerted.

    You want control, I disapprove
    (I-I- you feelin it?)

    Silica let out a cry of pain as the scythe’s blade rammed itself into her back, slicing open a large gash into the small of her back. Marceline ripped the blade away from her, cutting the wound deeper into her body and spilling the ectoplasma that resided within. That sadistic smile crawled across her lips again, her blade swinging out toward Silica again while the ghostly child was busied with pain. She was fast, though, resulting in Marceline’s weapon slipping through empty air where the injured ghost had once been. Her eyes narrowed and she twirled in a circle, looking around for the girl that had disappeared just mere seconds before her attack. Quick as a fox, that’s what she deemed her as, but she was much smarter than this ghost, who appeared much more in just being a trickster. “Dou can’t hide from me, little ghosty-ghosty,” Marceline hollered, a bit of laughter following her words like she was entertained by the chase.

    So watch me close, as I unveil
    I'm stripping down, your face is pale

    The ghostly child reappeared just a few feet from where Marceline was standing, glaring at the much taller woman with a look of hatred within her eyes. She raised a hand and swept it outward, sending another blast of air in her direction, as if she believed it would deal some sort of damage to her. However, Marceline merely braced herself against the air, feeling it slightly push her back, but the damage to her body wasn’t felt at all. It cut her up pretty bad, but she was able to still stand on her two feet and couldn’t feel a damned thing from the wounds that now covered her body. Of course, her body was cracked and peeling, bits and pieces of light managing to show through the earthen flesh she was made of. Closer to her, a person would have been able to hear the soft screams of tormented spirits from the cracks that appeared on her body from the attacks. Pressing back on her heels, the woman bounced forward and swung her scythe at the ghost again, watching as it connected with the intangible form of Silica.

    You are the heart, I am the nail
    (I-I- you feellin it? YOU FEELIN IT?)

    From her scythe came a burst of pure darkness, shrouding over the child and enveloping her until nothing could be seen of Silica anymore. The substance was thick and hardy in nature, breathing it in would have easily suffocated a normal human if they were in it too long. Yet, she was faced against something that was immaterial and likely didn’t need to breathe in the substance that surrounded it at the time. Perhaps using this weapon’s ability was a waste of time if she knew it wouldn’t deal much damage to the ghost or anything at all for that matter. But, she had persisted in using it and took a step back, waiting until the mist had settled down and completely dissolved to reveal Silica. When it did, though, Silica was not in the place of the mist at all, but rather, she appeared behind the woman’s back, lightly tapping her on the shoulder. “Try again, stupid,” the girl stated, bouncing back on her feet to avoid any attack that Marceline would aim to swing in her direction.

    I think you ready, you want a show?
    You wanna hear me? Good to go

    “Don’t dink dou get can get away from me dat easily, deary,” the woman stated, pressing forward and rushing at the ghostly child. Instead of swinging her sword at the ghost, the woman raised opened her mouth and sucked in the air that was around her, filling up her cheeks. It wasn’t the air that she was consuming, however, it was little specks of invisible nether that floated around in the house due to the dead that were here. With cheeks nearly bursting, the woman came to a stop and released the power that was held within her mouth, a rush of wind blown in Silica’s direction. The girl let out a shriek as she was pounded by the mimicked demon’s howl, raising arms up to block some of the damage being dealt to her. Now that Silica was distracted, Marceline raised her weapon again and slung it forward, sending the blade toward the throat of the ghost. Unfortunately, the weapon simply went through the girl’s neck, cutting her head off and dismembering her, only to have it attach itself a few seconds later. This did not make Marceline happy in the least bit, frustrating her to no end.

    Fight on, Shark Sister!
    Fight on, Queen of the Sea!

    Sharkastasia could be seen swimming through the ocean with a fluffy-haired hammer-head, with large breasts (even as a shark) swimming swiftly through the water as the underwater critters filled their vision with color and their hearts with joy.  The smaller fish struck up a band and began to sing as Sharkastasia and Taliya swim in and out of the reef, dodging schools of fish and going through the already-created structures under the sea.  The sounds of happiness filled Anastasia's ears before the song ended.  However, as the song ended, Sharkastasia and Taliya stopped for a moment, looking at all of the fish in the reef with them.  Adjusting the crown upon her head, all of the fish bowed to Anastasia.

    "THE QUEEN OF THE SEA!!!" shouted one of the Belt Fish as their voice rang through the reef, for Sharkastasia to raise a fin and wave to her subjects.  "Yes, bow before me," Sharkastasia said before she swam throughout the reef, only to see a tuna not bowing at her presence.  This caused Sharkastasia to tilt her head for a moment and looked over the defiant tuna.  Paddling their way there to the defiant tuna, one of the other tunas attempt to force the head of the defiant tuna down, only for them to resist and break out of the rest of the tuna.  A scowl came over Anastasia's face before turning to look towards Taliya.

    "What say you, we have a feeding frenzy with the tuna?" Sharkastasia asked Taliya, with the Hammer Shark putting a fin upon their chin in deep thought.  "Tuna is full of meat, B-Vitamins, and Omega-3 acid.  They would sate you for quite the while, my Queen," Taliya said with Sharkastasia nodding and looking back at the tuna.  One of the female tunas threw themselves onto the Queen's fin.  "Please, your Majesty!  Finn doesn't mean it!  He's going through a rebellious stage," the tuna said.

    Raising a brow, the Queen kicked the woman away from her.  "If it really is just a phase, get this 'Finn' to bow before me!" the queen stated before Finn stepped up once again and looked to the other tuna and addressed all of the fish in the reef.  "How could you all allow such a tyrant to rule us in this reef!?  This shark came into our happy reef and terrorized us into submission, requiring us to pay homage to her and requiring a sacrifice every week in order to sate her appetite.  She has done nothing but terrified us since she arrived!  What we need to do is fight back against our oppressors!" the tuna shouted out before Sharkastasia put a fin up to her toothy mouth and laughed.

    "Who was the one that stopped the Bullies from attacking you?  Who protected you from the human fishermen?  Who cleaned up the dying reef for you?  I did!  Who saved you all from that oil spill on the surface?  Who protected you from the dark mages that travel through the water?  Who defied the old way of life of you living in constant fear and allowed you to be able to celebrate with music and festivities?  I did!" Sharkastasia shouted out.  "All I have done was for the greater good!  And this is how you all repay me!?" the Queen of the Seas stated before turning her eyes back to the band and nodded.

    The band started to play once again, the same song as earlier before the Queen of the Sea turned back towards the tuna.  "By my royal decree, I declare the removal of the tuna from this reef," she said before raising a fin up to her mouth and whistled, calling forth other sharks that was left hiding; those that she stopped from feeding upon the reef.  The Bullies (or rather the Bull Sharks) started to circle the waters above the tuna.  Struck with absolute horror, the tuna started to plead for their lives; all but the rebellious one.

    With a hearty laugh, Sharkastasia raised a fin.  "Only the tuna!  Let this be a lesson to everyone else in the reef!  Now feed-on, Bullies!" she said as she lowered her fin.  Once the music got going, carnage and violence plagued the reef.  The look of horror could be seen upon the band's face and everyone else watching.  An example has been made and the tuna, who dare defy the law of Sharkastasia, were the first group to be eradicated from the reef.  many of the fish mothers covered the eyes of their young and the schools that were swimming through the area dispersed immediately.  After the Tuna were eradicated, one of the Bullies looked on towards the rest of the reef and started to swim towards a school of clown fish.

    With a loud shout, the Bully was thrown extremely far away, allowing the school of Clown Fish to be able to flee.  "You Bullies are allowed to leave now.  Never show your faces here again.  Harming anyone else in my reef will ensure your death," she said as the Bullies looked towards Sharkastasia and sucked air between their teeth and began to swim off.  The music had ended and the Belt Fish from before shouted out "Sharkastasia!  The Merciful!" as the remaining members of the reef forced out fan-fare and applause.  Raising a fin, Sharkastasia cleared her throat and nodded to Taliya, allowing them to swim away, back to their palace.

    "First this reef, then the ocean, then the WORLD!" Sharkastasia said with a big evil laugh.

    Sharkastasia woke up, realizing they were still in the real world.  Depression started to kick in as they flopped around in the real world as Taliya was constantly chased by the Vengeful Psyches.  A little girl suddenly appeared before the one known as 'The Grim Reaper'.  Ana was of no opinion of either the Reaper or the Bakedanuki; just a strange feeling of hunger enveloped her while she remained in this cursed form.  Circling around the now-shark Anatasia, her summon that she brought forth earlier stepped in between the one known as Sillica and the currently 'vulnerable' shark.

    ~Something about this girl seems off.  Something strangely sinister.  Prepare yourself, Anastasia~ the black lion spoke to her telepathically, only for strange rawring noises to be heard as a reply.  The Lion cleared it's throat and kept it's eyes upon the little terrifying gothic lolita.  For now, however, the Shark and the Lion sat and watched Marceline fight against Sillica.  Well, while the lion sat, Anastasia continued to flop around.

    Taliya zoomed by just a moment after they sat down, still having spirits chase after her.  "You guys..." she said before zipping passed again, "going..." she said before passing by once again, "to help her?" Ana's eyes and the sitting lion's head zipped back and forth as if watching a tennis match with every pass made by Taliya and the three spirits chasing after her.  Due to the Lion not being integrated with Taliya, his words remain silent.  "Screw you then," Taliya said as the two sat silently, allowing Taliya to remain getting chased by the spirits.  They weren't something that Taliya couldn't handle.

    Their eyes returned to the battle as a scythe embedded itself into the little loli, causing her to shout out in pain.  And then suddenly, Marceline lost track of the little girl (as did the two animals observing).  The Lion looked around, turning it's head around to try to find the little girl.  The most Anastasia could do was turn her eyes around; having binocular vision was a bit annoying, almost wishing to have the herbivore eyes that sat neatly on each side of the creature's head.  Curses!  The fight continued with the loli appearing near Marceline.  They were at an angle in which Anastasia could observe.  This Marceline person was a very good fighter, one that Ana wouldn't want to mess with.  And quickly, the girl's head was removed from her body.

    The lion stood up, seeing that the battle was over with Anastasia flopping around only for them to pause as the girl laughed hysterically as her head slowly re-attached itself to her body.  ~This fight isn't over~ the lion said telepathically to Anastasia only for a series of whatever noise sharks make to be sent as a reply to the Lion.  Diving into battle, the Lion took a swipe at the little girl only for her to dodge, giving off a little giggle.

    "Oh, you humans are so adorable.  Sending others to fight for you," she said as she lifted herself off of the ground, now levitating and casually moving around at a faster pace.  "You can't tell me that that is all you have, yeah?" the girl said as she put her hand up to her face and laughs.  At the very least you could," the girl said as Taliya flew over Anastasia.  With a quick flick of Anastasia's tail, she smacked Taliya towards Silica causing the armor to ram directly into her, causing Silica and Taliya to go 'splat' upon the ground with Silica breaking Taliya's fall.

    "Oh, what the hell?" Taliya said as she rubbed her head within the cockpit of the armor and pushed herself off of Silica.  The three spirits that were pursuing after Taliya stopped their advances as they witnessed Silica fighting them, causing them to flee for the moment while Silica is engaged with them.  "So this is the big-bad of this place huh?" Taliya said as she nodded and started to move into a more advantageous position, using the Lion summon of Anastasia's as a means of trapping Silica in.

    Flopping around, Anastasia made a sound that sharks would make and a tunnel of light appeared inside of the building for a man, bearing one wing and a massive sword to come down to fill the void.  One of her Einherjar came down, brandishing a massive demonic sword in his hand.  If this man fulfilled his duties, he will be allowed to pass on, however, if Anastasia deemed him unable to do so, he will remain in Valhalla until he successfully fulfilled his duties.  Silica stood up and looked around her, noticing she was completely surrounded by a pet and two summons.  A little laugh came from her before she nodded.  "So this is how it's going to be?  Alright then, I'll entertain you humans for a bit," she said before a massive magic circle surrounds her, glowing under everyone's feet.

    Taliya tapped the screen in the cockpit a few times before the words 'Trans-Am' appeared on the screen.  A brilliant red light starts to surround the armor, appearing like angel-wings.  Red particles started to scatter around, enveloping the area.  An audible chanting could be heard from Silica, prompting the Lion to slash at the girl with poisoned claws, the one-winged demon to strike at it a couple times with it's long sword and Taliya to aim both dragon fangs at Silica and unleash a hellish fury of plasma upon her.  This caused Silica to moan in excitement before her chanting drew to a climax.  Taliya moved into position around the Lion and the One-Winged Demon and activated a barrier around them.  A massive explosion of black energy, like a geyser, erupted directly upwards.  The barrier created by Taliya and the dragon Armor was assaulted by the constant beam of black energy before the barrier shattered.  The black energy quickly caused the One-Winged Demon to dissipate into nothingness and the Dragon Armor and Dragon Fang to quickly disappear from Taliya before directly starting to envelope her body.

    From this oppressive spell, the lion struggled towards Silica and let out a massive roar, clearing out the oppressive darkness and bit into Silica's throat.  The poison in it's fangs continued to stream through Silica's body before she shouted out the word "Stop!" she said with the Lion holding her by a very vital place.  At any moment, the lion could snap her neck and devour her while she attempted to return to life.  "Spare me," she said as blood started to rush into her lungs, making her words gargled.  Blood spilled out of the wound and from her mouth as she spoke.

    "I'll let you go, just let me live," she said, pleading.  Taliya pulled herself up, her body ravaged from that darkness spell.  Taliya stumbled, requiring medical help.  Clearing her throat, she responded.  "Let the people here demolish this house and live with them in harmony.  Then, and only then will we let you live," Taliya said to Silica.

    Tears began to form over Silica's eyes before letting out a nod.  From this, the Lion let her go only to move towards Anastasia and started to drag her out of the house.  Taliya walked over to Izayuki to help her regain her composure and attempt to leave the house.  Before trying to leave the house, Taliya looked towards Marceline for a moment with a big smile upon her face.  "You're a strong fighter!  Watching you fight was an absolute pleasure!" Taliya said with a nod before she began to escort Izayuki out of the house.

    Outside of the house, the lion finished dragging Anastasia out only for her to return to her human form.  However, due to not having had any clothes while in the form of a shark, she returned to her shape completely naked, forcing her to cover herself up.  "What the hell," Anastasia shouted out.  Taliya started to laugh at Anastasia's plight before the sound of crying from within, coming from Silica, turned to laughter once again.

    Anastasia twitches as she looked towards Izayuki and Marceline and gave the two of them a nod.  "Let's ignore the fact that I was a little wimp in there and then I turned into the 'Queen of the Sea' alright?  I swear to you, that was the mansion doing that, not me," she said with a rather uncomfortable laugh.  Her eyes darted around a bit before turning to look towards Taliya.  "Take me to the Myrmidon already.  I need clothes," Anastasia said before Taliya looked Anastasia up and down, cat-calling at her.  "Ooooh baby!  I'm gonna have fun imagining that later~" Taliya said before walking over to Ana and picked up her 'princess-style' and turned to look towards Izayuki and Marceline once more.

    Anastasia continued to cover herself up, even while being held like this and simply saluted the other two.  "Until next time, yeah?" she said as she whispered into Taliya's ear.  Taliya nodded with a big grin upon her face and ran off towards their airship. They'll get paid, eventually.

    Notes

    And that should do it.
