Hello, fellow roleplayers!
I'm a fan of reading, writing, sci-fi, fantasy, science, making plans of World Domination and, of course, Fairy Tail. Once again I find myself at that time of my life when I am looking for greener pastures to take my writing to, and have stumbled upon your lovely site. I particularly appreciated the bits of the rules which basically stated 'be nice to each other', due to experiences in the past.
Now, if it was just me, this would be all and I'd juuump straight ahead into creating my character, writing, and otherwise bothering you people. But! I seem to have picked up one of those 'awesome friend' thingies back on my last site, so I would like to pick a community that fits us both. Ideally, this would involve being able to have some sort of continuity with our story, in which we are invested in, while of course following the rules. So, if you don't mind, I would really appreciate answers to a few questions:
1. Thread limit. Is it a hard or a soft rule? On one hand, I empathize with the idea of character development, because I really like writing stories, exploring my character's personality/actions etc. But. I'm a slow writer. While one might think that a slow writer would need even fewer threads than average, the truth is not that simple. If I write together with another slow writer (and potentially the best roleplaying partner I ever had was someone who wrote about 3 posts every 6 months due to IRL reasons), then the effective limit is 3. And then 2, 1, 0...I really don't like dropping threads just because people can't post fast. I'm a fan of continuity, and in the past have managed to easily achieve it with considerably more than 4 threads. So, to go back to my original question - hard or soft rule?
2. Activity level. Now...is it possible to go around this rule? eg. would it be possible to have a thread in the Introductions/Farewells forum that stated an absence for several months, by which time I'd write another thread like that...(during which time, of course, I'll write). Not wanting to seem like a loophole-picker, but...four days (99 hours) is practically nothing for me. I may post once every two days, or I may post once every two weeks (I do warn my rp partners about my timing), and knowing that I 'have' to sign in every four days would be an additional stress...and...I don't deal well with stress. I'm sorry if I seem annoying, but this is important to me.
3. Lineages. Now, I think I got this, but let me check. They're more like extra abilities and don't affect the type of magic that one can create for their character...or can they?
4. VIP shop. I understand that a quality site might need funding; I would just like to ask whether, in your opinion, what is the difference for a character with/without using the VIP shop (okay? big? unsurmountable?)
5.Silly question, but would it be possible to have magic that expressed as someone being permanently turned into a gargoyle-sort-of-person? Continuity thing here. ^^
Again, sorry if I seem nitpicky and annoying. Just want to make sure that I am a good fit for this place (and if not, to settle it at the start rather than storming out dramatically later on =P ). Either way, it looks like a nice place!
