Personality: Most people who would describe Kyrin in one word would be uncaring. Most who only met him on the street or just see him passing by would think this of him. In daily life he walks around with a neutral expression on his face; not showing if he has a purpose in his walk or if he might just be bored with life. However those who know him better would call him laid back. It’s not that he’s bored with life, or doesn’t care. It’s that he takes everything in stride.

One thing that does bring him out of his ‘stupor’ is when he seems someone who might need his help. Whether it’s a kid being bullied by someone bigger than him, or a woman cowering under the hand of her husband (or a man under his wife’s); Kyrin doesn’t stand by. And he’s not one to be a fool if genuine is not intended. But in the case of actual harm he just makes a casual stroll towards the trouble, and makes it obvious that he intends to interfere by standing between or next to the two parties. He explains exactly what he wants when asked, and what he will do to make sure it happens. This is to give the offender a chance to back off, and warn them what’s about to happen. Once the conflict is resolved either way, Kyrin just keeps on as if nothing happened.
Combat is the only time he actually shows expression to complete strangers. Usually a smile that touches his lips is all they get, or a frown when a battle goes in a way he wasn’t expecting. If something completely throws him for a loop an expression of surprise might touch his eyes., but not much more.
His true feelings are for the summons he calls forth. For them he shows actual affection and emotion for; breaking into a big smile when they come to his aid. With other people he talks almost with a guarded tongue, even with those he knows. But with his summons he speaks freely.
That might be why his summons are so determined to protect him, because he seems to treat them as equals instead of servants. In combat he gives them suggestions on how to fight, but ultimately it’s up to them how to proceed. He trusts their judgement and they trust his advice. The mutual trust allows great flexibility in combat.
Most of the time he starts off by sending Breeze to test his opponent(s). Because of the summons agility and flexibility he uses her to ‘test the waters’. Once he feels like he has a good idea of his opponent’s capabilities he moves to a more appropriate strategy. Often times this requires multiple summons at the right time to get the best results. Those who have seen him fight in his home town referred to it as his ‘summon strategy’. Often times he won because of what appeared to be dumb luck; when in reality it was more like placing a chess piece on a board. But not even he can plan for everything, and even he is aware of it. Most of his losses were because he either missed something important or because there was something that surprised him. Others of his losses were from….certain opponents or spectators.
Both in and out of combat there’s one thing that really breaks his focus. And that is his fear of girls. Beautiful women to be exact, but for him beautiful is a very broad term. Growing up in a family mostly of males (3rd son in a family of 4 sons) he didn’t spend much time with female company. Any that he did have caused constant mockery and teasing from his older brothers, and later by his younger. This caused him to become very nervous around females, especially with the pranks he had to endure to make him embarrassed.

However, once a female at least begins to consider him he begins to become nervous. When just focused on him he begins to twitch slightly. Stories of flying vehicles called ‘planes’, large cities made by the blood and sweat of men, and a concoction called ice cream he’s determined to make. But so far he just can’t get it right.

* Fish and Potatoes- Two of his least favorite foods, Kyrin tends to avoid dishes made with either of these. If pressed he will eat them without complaint, but if he has a choice he’d rather avoid them.
* Bullies- One of the things that will earn his wrath is bullies. And not just the normal schoolyard variety, any that use their ‘strength’ to dominate another. The strong to subjugate the weak, the rich to the poor, man/woman to the man/woman. If it’s part of the society he’s passing through then he won’t do anything except silently grit his teeth. But if he can fight and defend without being thrown in jail….
* Monsters- This is another that is rather broad. Creatures that dwell on death and destruction are a pet peeve of his. Similar to his hatred of bullies; this includes monsters who only want to kill for no apparent reason than death. This also applies to people who do the same; who kill without thought or emotion.

* Adventure- Even as a kid Kyrin wanted to see the world. Not really travel to far off exotic lands, but to see beyond his home town. It’s one of the reasons he worked hard on his magic, so he’d have the strength to go out on his own.
