    Job Stuff:

Maya stretched lazily as she approached the Hargeon Passport Office. It had been brought up to her that now that she was becoming more comfortable with her job as a wizard, she might want to look into getting herself a passport. Never being one to pass down an opportunity for more growth, Maya jumped at the idea; looking at what she was currently seeing, however, she was starting to reconsider. The passport line stretched out easily several blocks past the door. If she was going to grab her passport, it would take several hours. Well, at least she didn't have anything else planned for the day. Maya sighed and took her place at the back of the line.

As the line slowly inched forward, Maya took the opportunity to look around the town from her vantage point. Even though she'd been living in Hargeon for several weeks now, she had spent her entire life in Magnolia Town before then; as such, she was still suffering from a bit of culture shock. Hargeon was so...Different, but not in a bad way. Magnolia was a city of festivals, where Hargeon was a city of trade. It was definitely something new, though; Maya was coming to enjoy all of the new aspects of her life. Even her strange new body was becoming less strange to her every day.

"Hey girl, move it! You're holding up the line!"

Maya started as the old man behind her barked at her. "Oh, sorry," she muttered before hurrying up to catch up with the line.

It felt like an eternity, but Maya finally reached the Passport building. The inside was about as she expected: Grey, bland, the same as every other government building. She had always thought that the government could use a little lightening up - after all, the wizards are here to protect everybody, so why worry so much about everything? They were way too serious for Maya's taste. She was happy with Lamia Scale and her friends there; she didn't need to bother herself with anything else, right?

Although, there were disturbing rumors going on, from what she heard in the line. Apparently Fiore was getting ready to go beat up some poor country out west over a dumb artifact? That was terrible. Maybe Maya would go pay the other country a visit once she had her passport and see what she could do about that...

Maya made it to the counter, completely wiped out from her adventures. The lady working the station was an older sort, and entirely too peppy for Maya's tastes. "Hello, ma'am!" She said with an almost unbearably wide smile. "I'll need your name, hometown, and if you're a wizard, your guild."
"Maya Meletzo," Maya replied dully. "Magnolia Town. I'm a Lamia Scale wizard."
"Great! I'll have your passport ready in a jiffy," the clerk replied peppily, prompting an eyeroll from Maya. Sure enough, however, the passport was ready in a few minutes. "Have a great day!" The woman said happily as she handed Maya the passport.
"Sure, you too," Maya replied boredly as she turned and escaped the incredible monotony of the line.

Maya gave another glance to her passport as she walked out. It was rather well done; apparently the government had a picture of her ready, along with a bunch of information like her birthday, blood type, and height. Kind of unnerving, honestly. That wasn't important right now, though; it wasn't something Maya could change right now. Maybe when she was a little stronger. She was getting stronger every day, and she was even gaining a bit of confidence in her work. Maybe it was time to take it to the next level.

Of course, that meant learning to fight.
