What did it mean to be a hero? This was something that there was never a single, straightforward answer. A hero came in all shapes and forms. A hero to one may be the villain to another. Such a subjective word has led to the rise of kingdoms, and the toppling of tyrannical kings. It was this world that filled people with hope, hope for their future. A hero, is that who he was meant to be? "Hero's, huh?" The young man had spoke, slightly dismissive with his tone. "If there ever were hero's on this planet I'd be amazed." He chuckled, the idea seemingly implausible. "Hero's are simply glorified men; the tales are meant to set the children on a course that will allow for them to develop into a productive member of society." It was with his words that he would argue against the old teachings; he held no disrespect for the old teachings, simply that he did not believe them to be events from the past; tales that were distorted into these epic adventures; keeping children up all hours of the night, giving them something to aspire to be. This is all he saw these stories as. Fiction. Who was this man? Why did he speak so far out the real of what was socially acceptable? Why did he choose to defy the standards laid before him? "Because it's the right thing to do." He said, leaning back in his seat. "If we do not address these issues now, then they may never be. What proof is there to show that these fabled hero's did exist? That they vanquished this 'progenitor'?" He asked, very curious as to how the other would reply. It had taken the man quite a while for him to muster up some form of idiotic utterance. "Simply false." He spoke, the chair now balanced. Perhaps it was the mere fact that he could not envision a world where these things happened; sure, magic existed, but he doubted that he would ever find anything that would convince him of the existence of this "progenitor".

"Why is it so difficult to simply accept that these beasts did not exist? It is not as though I am saying that it is a terrible thing, that it should never be spoken of. I am simply stating that there is no way that it could have actually happened!" He spoke in a lazed tone; it seems he had become bored of trying to convince these men. "Being ignorant to the truth, and simply denying it are two separate things; you should know the difference if you are here... Well, it is not my problem if you do not, simply try to open your mind a bit. Try to accept a truth that is not reliant on the old tales." He reasoned, planting his feet onto the floor. It seemed he was bored of this conversation; it was leading nowhere. "Reflect on this conversation for a bit, then find me." He chuckled, turning his back and raising his hand to wave. Perhaps he was associating with the wrong people, or perhaps it was that they simply could not accept his own assertions. "Well, what am I to do now?" The man sighed, exiting the room. As he walked down the corridor it seemed that he had forgotten what, exactly, it was that he was supposed to be doing today. Did he have plans? Was he free to relax for the rest of the day before beginning the grind again tomorrow?
