She was likely going to tick off everyone who thought of her as someone who needed protection once more! Early morning light shone through the silver moon, but it was still slightly too early for anyone to actually be up on a sunday, so Jiyu was safe for the moment. It had been a bit since she did solo jobs, so the female wanted to do another. Yet? She could think of a handful of people, who would not be so pleased she was wandering off on her own again, so she would take the mission she wanted and sneak out! Escaping had always been a strong point of her’s after-all. Kazehime ran away from home at ten year’s old and unlike her little sister, the dormant demoness had no place to run to, opening up situations where she really needed to run to preserve her life. When you were simply a little child? Than you could barely hold your own against the brutes in this world, especially a little girl, so she never even once attempted to make them back off her, she just ran and eventually escaped with ease. At first life out there had been hard, she’d barely gotten enough to eat on the ship’s, even less off them, and everyone seemed to want her to do something, most times they desired to force her into something she’d rather not do. However in the end she had outsmarted them by far, destroyed their cocky nature and left someone with more respect for the meek behind in it’s place. Jiyu made sport out of surviving, outperforming others and trying to be better than her peers. Even before she lost her mother and changed into the woman she was today, due to the hard years that followed? The inu had been competitive, strove to run faster than the other village kids, catch more fish than them, shoot arrows further, have better aim, be better at smiling or even just breathing was something she once tried to beat people at yet. Hime truly acted like a princess sometimes, one that was a very sore loser, and got very upset when she was not at the top. Currently she was only halfway to where she wanted to stand in the wizard world, the place she needed to be in order to open her mother’s letter, and she had stalled! Even if she had chosen to allow enjoyment of her life, to take things somewhat slower, the pace had become a slow flowing lazy stream, she wanted to at least be in a stream that flowed semi-fast, so she’d have to make some changes to achieve what she wanted. Kaze knew she had relied on people a little too much, reaching a point where she seemed to have momentarily forgotten she could do things on her own just as well as she could do them with company. In order to remind herself of that, she’d have to prove it to herself once more. Kinda sucked really.
Bare feet touched to the wooden floor of the second floor, the inn part of silver moon, boards creaking slightly as she cussed under her breath. Considering the youkai living here? She would surely wake someone up from their slumber, if she tried to make her way down to the job board like this, Jiyu would get caught. “Jiyu? We going somewhere?” makoto spoke up from her place laying on the small single bed of the room, and her mistress clearly flinched slightly. “Ssh” all the spirits living here possessed some above human sense of hearing, and speaking so loudly, might wake up people as well. Kazehime didn’t want to take any risks, she wanted to leave before anyone could try to come with her, she needed to do something alone once more, no matter how crazy that seemed. “Yes, get my equipment and meet me outside.” her voice was so hushed it was almost not there whatsoever, her eyes narrowed slightly as she nodded towards the pile of armor, black clothing and weapons in the corner, offering a small smile to her pet. Once she had settled what she was going to do in order to get her stuff without making tons of noise and the way to silence her charge, the female thought on how to get downstairs without rousing anyone. Jiyu finally simply jumped up, the wind taking things from there, encasing her so that she could simply float there easily. If she never touched the floor boards, they would no creak on her again, and she honestly loved the quality time spent with her own element, so she accepted it’s aid swiftly, without any question to her beloved element. It was such a pleasant hug to be wrapped in, the wind caressing her skin sweetly, protecting her from anything in the world that was out to harm her. However she still felt more comfort in the arms of one certain man, it scared her sometimes to realize she felt as much for him as she felt for her element, something that made her who she was, the fact he had become that core to her. Maybe she could peek on the feline without him finding out? The wind mage glanced at the door of his room, but shook her head sadly, he might not even be in there, or worse yet he could be awake! Risk was not worth the pay out, not today when she needed to get away like this, she’d have to spy on him another day. Shaking off her perverted and rather shameful thought’s, the wind mage floated over to the stair’s, touching nothing as she floated through the corridor, shifting her body slightly to come to a halt at the bottom of the steps. In the room? There was currently no one, so she allowed herself to float over to the board itself, letting the wind boost her, considering she could not read everything due to her short, annoying and resented five foot height.
Basked in a golden glow by the dancing morning rays of sun, she looked almost like an angel hovering there, pale porcelain finger’s tracing the harsh wood of the board, right besides every single task. By now? She likely had several people she’d saved in her quest’s, that thought of her as an angel or something akin to the heavenly being’s who blessed people. However her own experience with the holy being’s, was not so positive for she had been required to fight for her life and the life of her best friend, because they thought the two of them were demonic invaders! Sure she was a demon, and they were right about that, even though she lead them to believe otherwise. Yet, she couldn’t ge tover how glaring that hatred was, she despised that they had to hate another race so much, just its presence caused them to try and kill it. Surely one day that would have to backfire on the twisted sprites, turn around on them and make them they weren’t as good as they thought! Maybe she could actually invade one day, invade heaven and turn it into just another place, somewhere like peace village, a place that was serene and tranquil, not filled with black hatred like it currently was. Yet, she doubted that would ever work so simply, so she gave up the thought before it even got far in her head, beside’s no mission on this board was related to the other realm anyways. Shaking her head she started looking across the poster’s once more, hand shaking over the paper’s themselves this time, trying to keep the rustling to a minimum as she did this. Sadly, any crinkle in them made it harder for the poorly visioned mage to read them, so she had to straighten out the sheets to know what she was getting herself into. Kazehime was careful, using her whole hand to keep one page still, while her other worked softly on working out the crinkles, until she could make out each black piece of text against the white surface. Once she had the job’s clear before her, she truly began to consider which one she would conquer this time, twirling one strand of hair around her finger as she curiously stared at each page, trying to pick one that seemed right. She couldn’t take one that was too hard, if she did that than she might have to call for help later, but if she took on some task that was too easy, no one would ever notice her. In the end? Dangerous was what she did best, so she needed something that suited that sort of path, something she could get in trouble on, put not too much trouble she couldn’t make it on her own. This was going to be a hard task, especially when she had to make the decision this quickly, despite being a rash person most of the time, she actually hated being that way when she could avoid it!
Dear mage taking the time to read this request,
A horrible situation has recently befallen nazo! Numerous people have just vanished into thin air as of recent. Lately, they have just disappeared, gone who know’s were, missing. We know they aren’t dead because there are no signs of a struggle, no blood and no bodies have been found in the several months this has been going on. Do you have any clue what could be happening, good mage, neither do we. None of us know what is going on, but to us it’s almost as if something casually spirited them away while these innocent people went about their daily business, abducted them whenever they were least protected and least expecting it. Everyone is becoming frightened. If this isn’t solved soon, we fear something disastrous may take place, so we beg of you to come aid us, figure out what is going on and if possible return out people to us. Please.
That was what this job request said, and it made her wonder exactly what really was going on in that land, what could be making off with whole people like that! Her pale hand extended and reached forward, claws easily pricking the task from the board despite her lack of psychical strength, open palms waiting for the simple piece of paper to float into them, settle there for her and rest. If she left it up on the board someone would certainly follow her with how interesting this was, plus she was high enough rank to take this one entirely on her own, it might even end up being fun to do alone. Actually? Some sinking feeling about this told her it was something best done alone, there was something solid clawing around in her skull insisting that even if she thought it was too much, bringing someone besides for Maka with her, might make it even more impossible. Good thing she was confident enough that she would never need anyone’s help anyways, so he wouldn’t ask for someone else to accompany her. Even though Jiyu had no idea what was going on herself, something deep inside of her had a sense of what was happening and it was nothing good, instead it was something complicated and twisted, something that would take intelligence to get by. Kazehime would struggle with this one and she didn’t even know how dangerous it actually was yet. Normally there was an expectation of taking lives into one’s hands when you took on a job, but this would be beyond what she was used to, stretch out of the limits of what she had already done in this world. The wind user had never done anything that could prepare her for the steaks this time, most of her past mission’s were just like playing games. Little did she know that this time her games could really cost people their lives. However what the wind user herself could not accomplish, maybe something she had yet to discover would make up for it. Either way, she was taking on another task that was above her own head, far above it and she had no way of knowing this was above what she would normally agree to tackle. Of course that’s what made getting into trouble fun in the first place anyways.
Since no one was really awake right now? The wind user wrote out a nice little message for her guild. I’ve gone to Nazo to take on a job concerning people getting spirited away lately, I should be back in about three days. It was short and simple, but that was the best way to do something like this, construct it in a manner where she didn’t leave too much info, but if she didn’t come home for some reason, they knew why or could send help. The day she actually needed help thought? Jiyu would never admit it when that date came, she was too head strong, confident of her own power. Slipping the note under Iza’s door the female slowly slipped from the guild, closing the door to the cafe softly, the final step to not waking anyone up on her way out. Once she was outside of the guild, Kazehime looked around to see if her kitsune had made it’s way out here and around the build yet, considering she was floating here in her pajamas, and that was kind of weird. Not that she didn’t draw attention normally anyway. It would just be nice to get ready for this job sooner than later, and she could not do that until Makoto showed up with her stuff.
“So what are we doing this time Jiyu?” her fox's voice came from the alley and the wind user followed it down there, considering she couldn’t change in the middle of the street. Meeting up with her fox in the cramped alley, the floating girl pretended to sit against the boxes thrown there, because her wind was not going to let go so soon. “It’s a simple one, we just have to find out where people have been disappearing to in Nazo.” the two hundred year old infant looked confused, so the wind user chose to go into greater depth as she brushed out her long hair and tied it in an over the shoulder pony tail, tucking her feather’s into it. “Nazo is another place on this world.” her fox would never need to know politics, so she explained it in the simplest words possible, reaching for the tie holding her pajama short’s up, loosening it so she could slide them off. “Lately people have been vanishing into thin air around there.” as soon as her shorts came off, she started sliding the thin black cloth that served as her skirt, up her leg’s. Once she had her tail laying atop her skirt, she went for the pajama top laying over her bra, lifting it over her head, tossing it toward maka. “Take those back to my room.” the small creature ran off on her task as the mage slipped on her crop top, taking a few seconds to smooth it out before she picked up the gloves, placing them on easier than any other part of the magical item she used beneath her armor! Finally came the armor itself, the tediousness of tying her breastplate almost made her give up, securing her skirt almost made her flip tables, put the arm bracers were applied and tightened easy, so that made it alright. “Maka it’s time to go.” the female shouted it out, sliding her knife and fan into their places beneath her bracers, finally picking up her quiver, tossing it over her back and securing nighthunt to it, since she likely would not need to fight right away.
The set of them set off swiftly once Jiyu was ready, since Makoto had no equipment “Hey maka remind the next available time I should get you some armor at least.” sure she had become alright with the fox coming along, but kazehime still worried about the little creature! Jiyu would never stop worrying about the fox she had to overcome her worst fear in order to love. “Alright Jiyu~” the tiny creature sang it, sprinting beside her floating owner, looking at the wind wrapped girl, eventually choosing to leap up onto her shoulder for the rest of the trip out to wherever they were going. The duo stood in front of the gate that would take them to nazo, another world that would have their newest job waiting for them. “This is a portal Maka, sorry I didn’t explain them the last time you saw them.” she adjusted the foot tall kitsune in her arms, like a true infant, before aiming to walk through the portal. The last time Maka did something like this? It was on accident, so she wanted to make sure the little creature was more comfy with it this time. “Let’s go then.” when he heard no complaint she leaped into the massive magical rip, well floated through it, but she pretended to jump at least. All around them? Magic buzzed and hummed, but little did Jiyu know something was wrong, another shade slowly leaking into the normal portal theme, reaching out with the aim to take both female’s into its grasp! “HOLD ON MAKA!” by the time she realized something was wrong, they couldn’t go backwards, so he hugged the fox close to her, feeling the wind pulse around her, trying to help her, but having no way to do so. After this she would have to solidify her bond with it more, further the contract she was already in with it. However for now all she could really do was wait, float there, trying to see what would be brought to them by this. Remember that scratching on her head earlier? Well now it was something clawing to get out of her, attacking her mind straight out.
