Personality:

A deadly accurate, three word description of Mark would be 'cold and unfeeling'. He does not rely on emotions, every decision Mark has ever made in his life has been based soley on the information he has had available to him, he has never once allowed emotions to cloud his judgement, in fact, Mark is barely even aware of what constitutes the word 'emotions', theoretically, he knows what the words 'fear' and 'happiness' mean, but to him, they're nothing more than chemicals negatively affecting people's judgement and how they feel. Along with this, Mark seems to have some sort of difficulty discerning facial expressions, his eye seems to be woefully untrained. Mark is rather brash, to say the least. He does not do this to irritate other people, this is just an unfortunate side effect of Mark's inability to detect the emotions of others. All of these things in conjunction seem to indicate that Mark has not faced many, if any social situations in his life, or if he has, he is incapable of adapting to anything he is not innately familiar with. Or, of course, there could always be a third option, Mark has adapted socially, he knows how emotions work, he just feels that any indication that he recognizes emotion will lead to him being 'infected' himself. To some extent, this does not seem to be working though, because sometimes--though not very often at all, perhaps once every month or so, Mark shows the faintest trace of emotion. Mark's true personality could be a combination of all of these things, each one to some extent. Perhaps Mark does recognize emotion, just not well, and refuses to acknowledge it because he does not want to feel it himself. No one who has ever talked to Mark knows the answer to these questions, not even Mark himself. All that he or anyone else knows is that he exhibits a very cold facade, that has yet to be broken by anyone he has ever talked to, and it is unlikely that it will ever be broken.

In combat, Mark does not change much at all, in fact, one could say he grows even colder. The faintest trace of emotion he shows once in a blue moon is gone, all that remains is an empty shell focused on one thing and one thing only, success. No one has ever even heard Mark talk during combat, he becomes so razor-focused that he does not even communicate anything to anyone. That being said, he does not serve as a very good leader, though he does work relatively well under a leader. He will adapt any plan that is posed to him to fit his wants, but in general it works for the better of the plan, except for the fact that he never actually communicates what he's about to do to anyone, so he ends up confusing his teammates, which can have more than a few detrimental consequences to whatever was trying to be achieved in the long run.

Likes:

•  Mark does not like very much, unfortunately. The following three things are the only ones that can be considered 'liked' by Mark, though 'like' in this case is a relative term.
  
• Ice Cream Sandwiches- Believe it or not, Mark does somewhat enjoy something as trival as an ice cream sandwich, it is the only thing that he actually enjoys the taste of.
  
• Uncovering New Information- Mark does actually enjoy this, he always has fun discovering new information and deciding how it will impact any further decisions that he may end up making in his life.
  
• The Color Gray- It has a calming effect on him, this isn't so much of a like as it is that Mark is always calmed down whenever he sees it, he does not know why, the color just sooths him.
  

Dislikes:

• Unlike his likes, these are plentiful, therefore only the most significant ones will be stated.
  
• Overly Emotional People- Mark just clashes with people who let every single tiny emotion influence every single one of their decisions, it seems utterly stupid and unnecessary to him.
  
• Sappiness- Well, given Mark's personality, there's enough said here, since he just doesn't like emotion in general, there's an obvious reason as to why he would despise sappiness.
  
• Chocolate- Yes, there's another trivial thing that Mark has an opinion on. He may love ice cream sandwiches, but he just cannot cooperate with chocolate. It doesn't work for him.
  

Motivations:

• More Information- One of Mark's favorite things to do is discovering new things, therefore, it makes sense that one of his major goals in life would be to learn as much as he possibly can.
  
• Understanding People- Mark simply doesn't understand everything about people, and while he does not wish to feel emotions himself, he wishes to understand why other people seem to be so fond of them.
  
• Becoming More Powerful- Mark wishes to enhance his abilities because he has this strange hunch that he cannot shake, he knows that sometime in his future he will need it.
  

Fears:

• Judgement Being Clouded- Mark fears that one day emotions will cloud his judgement so much that he will no longer have any idea what to do.
  
• Amnesia- Forgetting everything has got to be Mark's worst fear. Information is the thing that he holds the most dear, and amnesia would make him forget everything.
  
• Not Knowing What To Do- In the entirety of his life, Mark has always known what to do, his decisions have never failed him. Whenever he thinks about it, not knowing what to do paralyzes him with fear.

Appearance: Mark is the kind of person you wouldn't look at twice, he's 5'5", he has a pretty scrawny frame, and neither his hair nor his eyes draw much attention to him. His outfits do not draw too much attention to him either, with mostly tones of browns and dark greens. Most of the times he wears a long white dress shirt with a brown jacket and short boots, though his outfit can very often vary. Though as has been stated before, the many variations of his outfits don't really contain many colors other than white, brown and green, though Mark is known to wear a red tie every once in a while. As for his lower body, he generally varies between green plaid shorts, other variations of green shorts, and brown pants.
