Outside of battle, Umeka (or 'Meka' as she is known to friends) is a confident and energetic individual with a lust for adventure and powerful conviction in all that she does. She sees everything in life as a challenge with it being her purpose to conquer each and every one that comes her way no matter how big or intimidating it may seem at first. It is worth noting as well that Meka has a tendency, due to her intense convictions in practically everything, she can be a bit touchy when others question her decisions and will often quickly retort with in a pugnacious manner - sometimes getting into fights over very minute things because of this.
Furthermore, due to her rather unusual appearance, Meka can be very sensitive when it comes to how others see her and much like when dealing with those who disagree with her, she responds with force rather than reason due to her hot-headed nature when the subject of her somewhat inhuman look comes into the conversation. However, this does not mean that Meka is all about fighting anything and everything, as she is intensely protective of loved ones and will do whatever it takes to keep those she cares for safe - even if that means dropping her attitude for a short while.
Also in despite of her pugnacious nature, Meka can also be just as cheerful as anyone else at times and can even be a bit of a goof-ball when around her friends, cracking silly jokes simply to see her loved ones smile even if it means making a fool of herself in the process. Though, most do not see this side of her and will simply assume that the fish-like woman is all-around a troublemaker without seeing her hidden joyful side.
In battle, Meka's intense convictions carry over in the form of her belief that any battle she comes across can be won with an intense determination and that no matter how much more powerful the enemy, all it takes is one mistake for them to be brought down to size. She does not like to tactically plan out battles like some others and instead desires to take on every foe head-on with reckless abandon and disregard for her own safety, often putting herself in dangerous situations because of this.
She does not, however, condone putting her loved ones in danger and thus will hold herself back when it comes to charging enemies if it would mean doing so. Although, if instead she needed to enter a clearly unwinnable fight in order to protect them - she would do so, without so much as a moment's hesitation or thought about it.
As far as her style of fighting goes, Meka tries to balance quick movements with raw power for a mix that is a more middle-of-the-road approach rather than something which favors one or the other. If using a conventional weapon, she prefers to use spears rather than swords or axes due to the reach as well as the aforementioned balance between power and speed which she feels fits her best.
Her attitude, in battle, also reflects her nature outside of battle as she often will taunt or attempt to goad her enemies into making an opening out of anger or miss-stepping due to being distracted or otherwise drawn out of their focus and Meka has no qualms with using these moments of temporary weakness to her advantage.
If following the orders of a leader she believes in, Meka is a devoted and fervently loyal individual who will follow their leader to the ends of the earth if it means completing whatever mission they may be set on or to aide others in doing so. She does not often question orders given to her unless they are of moral turpitude and will defend them to others who would not do the same by explaining the simple fact that 'They are our leader for a reason.' and that those who do not follow orders 'Do not deserve to lead later on.' as is her stern belief on the subject.
As a leader herself, Meka is a brave yet somewhat naive character and can sometimes - due to her optimism regarding the odds of those beneath her against those she is pitted against - place her subordinates into rather precarious situations that require a higher-up or reinforcements to resolve. Despite this, however, she can rally others to her with her intense spirit and can, in theory, change the tide of battle with her unflinching belief in those she fights alongside and thus restoring the faith and determination of those aiding her in battle.

Umeka enjoys sparring as much as she does a good nights rest and a warm meal, often dedicating time in her day just to sparring with those willing to do so or preparing herself for the next spar physically either in a group or on her own. - Selflessness:
As she believes this is a virtue of any good person, Umeka appreciates and respects anyone who acts selflessly be it by simply sharing what they have with someone else or by battling against overwhelming odds at the side of a friend. - Swimming:
One of Umeka's favorite activities besides sparring, simply going for a swim in a pool or a lake can be therapeutic for the fish-like woman and is one of the few things she will take time out of her day to do given the chance.

Due to her hot-headed personality, one of the things that Umeka can absolutely not stand is being mocked, either for her appearance or for her temperament and she will often attempt to start a fight with those who do so to her. - Cats:
A somewhat comedic thing for Umeka to dislike, she can absolutely not stand cats - perhaps due to her appearance - and will actively avoid them when she can or otherwise remove them if coming into contact with the creatures. This includes feline-esque humans such as those with only cat-ears and a tail or similar features.

One of Umeka's main drives in life is protecting those who she believes cannot protect themselves or standing up for those who have no one else willing to do so for them. She is willing to go to any length to protect the innocent, even if that means putting herself in harms way. - Adventure:
Another reason for Umeka's choice of life-style is simply the enjoyment of venturing to new and interesting lands and meeting new people, possibly hoping to find others who look like herself one day. - Proving Herself:
Lastly, but not least, Umeka also sees her travels as a means to prove herself to both her guild, herself, along with any who had doubted her in the past. She hopes that one day she will prove that despite her vaguely inhuman appearance, she has just as much heart as anyone else.
