Breaking and Exiting

This was Takemi's first official job. He still had a lot to learn when it came to working with a guild or any real world experience anyway. The job description didn't look that hard, but of course he didn't know what job was hard or what job was easy. The only thing he did know was that he had to make a living and doing jobs were the means of achieving that.

The job Takemi chose said it was strictly for Rank D members, so he believed that it would be best for him. It required him to head over to Hargeon Town, another new place he had never been to before. The secluded area where his family lived did not let him experience things like the train or any other method of transportation. He stepped unto the train platform and took a deep breath of fresh air. The town was something spectacular, and he noticed that construction work was being done on different parts of the town. He didn't know what happened nor he had in his mind to find out. With no time to waste he headed in the direction of the Shipping Co.'s who had put the request for a wizard.

It took Takemi a bit over an hour to find the location of the victim company, as he had to employ the help of several townspeople for directions. He thought about buying a map for himself, but he had already started to wander about and ask for directions anyway. He finally arrived at the desired location, and asked to meet with a representative of the company. A tall thin man, who wore a business attire, came forth. He spoke with a sweet voice, one that Takemi knew had won many arguments in his favor during his life.

"Sir, I am Takemi Naoaki, the wizard that has taken your job offer." - he said looking at the man straight into his eyes.

The man looked him up and down. "Hmm... are you an experienced wizard?" - the man asked with a bit of questioning tone in his voice.

"No, sir, bu-" - replied Takemi honestly.

The man cut him short, "Stop. This matter is of the utmost importance." He turned around and started to walk away.

"Sir, I promise. I won't let you down." - Takemi told the man. He knew that he had prove to the man that he could do it. More so, he had to prove it to himself.

The man stopped for a second and turned towards Takemi. He sighed and said, "Ok. I will give you one chance, well you really only have one chance." He then signaled the young wizard to follow him and step into his office.

The manager gave the details to Takemi and he listened intently to what he was saying. "So, basically, the thieves are hiding out in one of the warehouses at the docks, but we don't know which one." - the manager said worriedly.

"Ok, sir. I'll find out who did it and apprehend the thieves." - the young wizard said to the manager.

"Ok, just be careful. I don't want the guilt of a beginner wizard dying on a job we posted." - said the manager, then added, "It would ruin the reputation of the company."

Takemi was surprised but didn't say anything because he knew that it was true. The manager stated it matter of factly, and it hurt Takemi but he knew that it was the truth. He was a beginner, but he would do what he could to finish the job.

"By the way, do you have any tea?" - said Takemi to the manager's surprise.

The docks were not that far off from the Shipping Co. that Takemi was meeting with the manager. That meant that the thieves didn't go far, but it seemed weird to Takemi that they would still be here. He was pretty sure that they should've been gone by now.

So, after having tea with the manager Takemi ventured towards the docks. It housed numerous warehouses and several ships were docked with several people moving cargo on and off the ships. The salty wind smell filled the wizard's nose, something he had never smelled before. It was a unique fragrance, so he took a big breath of it. He shook his head and proceeded to the matter at hand.

The young wizard began to search the warehouses, coming up empty every time. As soon as he was about to give up, one of them gave a promising lead. Inside the warehouse closest to the docked ships was an item. He took out the inventory list that he had obtained from the manager as he said that it was the items that were lost. The item that Takemi found resembled one of the objects on the list.

"Ok, so the thieves must have been here at some point." - said Takemi and he began to look around the inside of the warehouse. He didn't know if he was going to find more because this was the biggest warehouse at the docks, and inside were hundreds of boxes of various sizes. "Well, this might take a while." - sighed the wizard.

The next piece of evidence didn't take him long to find, there were Jewels fairly close to the item he had found previously. He continued to search and more Jewels were found, one after the other. It seemed really strange that all these Jewels were here, as if dropped by someone. Takemi continued to follow the Jewel trail, and it led him deeper into the warehouse.

Boxes were stacked high almost at the ceiling, a whopping 15 meters high above his head, but he was focused on the Jewels that he was finding as he kept walking. The young wizard kept following what seemed to a trail, but he was oblivious to his surroundings. Being new to this job-taking life, he didn't have enough experience to count for all things that could go wrong. As his mind filled with thoughts about the job being easy, that's when he realized his mistake.

The Jewels had led him to a space that was completely surrounded by boxes, and the trail finished right at the middle of them. Takemi scratched his head and began to rummage through his satchel to try and contact the manager of Co. to say he had found some of the Jewels, but was interrupted by a cry. He looked up from where he was and saw that several angry looking people jumped from on top of the boxes and landed in front of him. He stood there for a moment, "Well, then, it seems that I have fallen into what people call a trap." - he stated.

'Monster Dice' :

Takemi counted around 10 angry looking people. He could tell that some of them had knives in their hands and others were carrying swords. Another thing that Takemi noticed was that all of them had Jewels coming out of their pants as they moved around him. They circled around him, and looked him up and down as if sizing him up. All Takemi could do was smile back at them.

"Hey, so I'm guessing you're the ones that stole all of those items and jewels. I'm here to get them back and stop you from doing it again." - said to them. "I would prefer if this be done without fighting, but I will if it has to come to that." He paused for a second before continuing. "It's your choice."

The bandits just laughed out loud, and one of them spoke. "You're only one and there's 10 of us. What can you do?" And with that, he signaled to 2 other bandits who ran, with weapons held high, towards Takemi.

The bandits rushed the young wizard, but he was ready for them. He noticed that they had no fighting experience, as the stumbled not to trip over each other. The wizard sighed heavily and took off the glasses he had been wearing when searching for the Jewels. The bandits ran towards Takemi and swung their weapons at him.

One of the bandits thrust forward with a knife held in his hands. Takemi stepped to the side and landed an elbow to the back of that bandit. The bandit fell face forward unto the ground and stopped moving.

The second bandit came with his sword and swung it downward trying to cut the young wizard in half. Takemi stepped inside the bandit's personal space and delivered an uppercut to the stomach. The bandit stopped dead in his tracks and fell down to his knees, dropping the sword in the process. He walked over the bandits towards the one who had spoken before. "Let's stop this now, before it gets out of hand."

The bandit spoke again, "You will not get away with this, wizard." - he seethed. It was funny to Takemi that while he said it, the bandit was taking a few steps backwards. Again, he signaled for two other bandits to attack Takemi. This time they jumped to attack at the same time, and were approaching from both directions. One of them swiped his sword in an arc in order to cut Takemi at the waist but the wizard managed to bend backwards and narrowly avoided the blow, only a few threads on his clothes felt the tug of the blade.

At the same time the second bandit tried to drive his sword home, down at Takemi while he dodged the first weapon's attack. He grabbed the bandits hand and pulled it down with him, which made the sword strike the ground and get stuck. Takemi looked at the bandit looking down at him, "My turn." - he said before jumping to stand straight.

While he jumped straight up, his head connected with the bandit and sent him spiraling backwards and crashing unto a pile of boxes. Quickly after, he crouched down and stepped towards the other bandit, who had his mouth open at this time, and punched him right in the gut. The air escaped the bandit, fell to his knees and finally sprawled on the floor, eyes rolled to the back of his head.

The rest of the bandits didn't wait for the speaking bandit to say anything. They went straight for Takemi to gang up on him. He didn't expect all of them to come after him, so they began to hit him and put him on the ground. Blow after blow hit him, sometimes a knife or sword would slip through and cut him. He couldn't see his attackers due to the continue flurry of blows, but he knew that it couldn't continue. Although they wouldn't likely kill him, they most likely would leave him feeling a bit sore.

The laugh of the bigger bandit could be heard coming from a few paces away. Gradually, the voice became softer, as Takemi realized that the bandit was running away. He realized that he had had enough of this. While getting beaten up, he concentrated one the energy of the sun, the daylight that gave him the power that he needed, that he craved. "Solar Penance!" - were the words that came out of his mouth at that moment. And, in one fell motion he pushed all of the bandits from him.

The bodies flew to different places and landed on different boxes. Some broke boxes, some didn't but the important thing was that none of them were moving. The wizard's body radiated heat and any person that saw him could see that his skin glowed a bit red. It was then that he set out to find the last of the bandits.

Takemi rushed in the direction of where the bandit's voice was heard. His activated magic let him jump a couple of feet in the air and land on top of one of the boxes. He jumped from box to box inside the warehouse, the glistening Jewels that the bandit dropped made for an excellent trail. He finally landed on top of a box that let him survey the warehouse's entrance.

The bandit had slowed down and looked around in all directions, likely looking for any sign of the guild wizard. Satisfied that he had lost him, the bandit walked to the entrance, but little did he know that Takemi had already noticed where the door was. The wizard made the motion of shooting a bow, "Sunlight Arrow" - he whispered. An arrow appeared next to his face, as if drawn back, aimed at the bandit.

"One last chance." - Takemi said out loud. "Give up and no harm will come to you." His voice reverberated throughout the warehouse.

"No chance." - the bandit said and darted towards the exit.

All Takemi could do was sigh as he let the arrow loose. He change the direction of the arrow at the last second and it landed just behind the bandit. The explosion caused a bright light to envelop the bandit and the impact propelled him towards the door. He hit the door with extreme force and broke it off its hinges towards the outside the warehouse. It landed with a definite thud sound and no other sound could be heard.

"I did warn him." - was all Takemi said before dropping down and collecting the Jewels and items stolen from the Shipping Co. He also called the authorities so they could come and arrest the bandit thieves.

Collecting all the stolen didn't take Takemi much time, but he did wait for the authorities to arrive. Once he knew that the place had been secure, he made his way to the Shipping Co. He met with the manager that had given him the job and explained him that the situation had been taken care of. Takemi told him that the authorities were going to deliver the rest of the items, and handed over the ones that he managed to pick up.

The manager congratulated him and told Takemi that he would speak well of the guild that he was from. And that any jobs that came he heard of, he would recommend his guild to the applicant. The young wizard was happy with the outcome of this job, he smiled as he carried the small bag which contained his first official payment as an official wizard. He also knew that it wouldn't be the last.
