The winds suddenly picked up as a light breeze fell upon the female. She most certainly felt it and she most certainly felt it. She mostly felt it on her scar, having to itch it before she wondered where the breeze came from, she then seen the figure once more. Summer couldn’t believe it, she thought it was ghost, no, she was sure it was a ghost as she seen it vanish right before her eyes just as she was going to walk over to them. She wanted to run over to them, but then they stopped and stared right into her eyes and the fireworks expert was frozen. She wasn’t numbed out, but she was staring at their beauty and elegance.
“Mother… no.. wait… It can’t be.” Summer mumbled to herself as the figure slowly vanished once more. “No, mother! Wait!” Summer exclaimed as she held out her hand. She didn’t want her mother to go, but it seemed that it was just Summer’s imagination going crazy. Or was it?? The figure suddenly appeared again, this time it appeared right in front of Summer. The figure lifted up her hand and placed her ghostly palm upon Summer’s cheek, she felt strange, yet she felt motivated too. This was indeed Summer’s mother, also known as Chunhua Guiyang. The woman that her father has loved all her life and took care of her dearly.
Summer’s eyes slowly filled up and the female started to cry, why didn’t she realise sooner, she should’ve known her mother worn that hanfu when the invasion started. She couldn’t believe it, her mother was dead, yet here she was, stroking her own daughter's cheek in an attempt to calm down the fireworks expert. The tears kept falling onto the same grassy floor that the cherry blossoms fell on top of the floor slowly. “Mother… you’re dead… why aren’t you resting in peace… mother… please talk…” The tears kept rolling down her face, struggling to contain them.
--Flashback--
Horses could be heard in the distance and the flames raged on, the households in the area have been mostly demolished, the debris obviously getting in the way of the escape of the townsfolk. The death count was slowly and surely increasing. So far, Summer, her mother and her father were encircled around the invaders and doing their best. Like always, her mother was fighting with the power of cherry blossoms while her father fought with his good ol’ chinese sword. Like with all chinese sword users, he was quick and swift while her mother’s moves was elegant yet powerful. Summer’s magic however was fierce and speedy. The three seemed unstoppable, yet it changed quickly the moment she spotted Jian. Jian seemed to be different, his body language looked different to the fireworks expert.
“Jian, what are you doing here!” The fireworks expert shouted while her father and mother continued to fight. Summer couldn’t quite grasp what was going on until her mother and father got separated. Jian clasped onto her arm aggressively before dragging her away from the fighting. Summer didn’t understand what the hell was happening, but she would very much like to get back to the fight scene as that is very important. Jian didn’t seem to care however, he only seemed to worry about her. What the hell was going on??
A chuckle could be heard from Jian’s very own lips before he forcefully planted his lips on the fireworks expert, stealing her first kiss. Summer tried pushing him away, but she was immobilized as he continued to kiss her. It was as if he wanted to keep her with him and not let her out of his sight.
“Let’s go Summer… I can take you somewhere very special…” Jian stated before he picked her up bridal style, what was he doing to her?? He completely paralysed her and she was within his grasp, something wasn’t right about this encounter with her best friend. Jian acted like a big brother to her and now he was acting like he was… obsessed over her.
“Noooooo!” Another voice could be heard as another male shoved Jian up a wall. The female was dropped out of her hands and the male who performed the shoving grabbed Summer and ran. Summer would see her father and mother getting separated, and her mother getting killed before she ran away from the place with her other best friend, Hung.
--Flashback ends--
“Mother… I will master the power of cherry blossoms for you…”
The ghost of Summer’s mother smiled softly, she really was mute, but she seemed to approve the fact that she was learning cherry blossoms and placed her motherly hand on her daughter’s forehead. The female felt comforted, tingly and warm inside. It was the mother’s touch she yearned for a long time.
