Killing Ms. Cooper (Mission, Private)

Feitan took the contract out of his pocket and looked it over as he walked into Oak town. He was very confused why anyone would want to get rid of some old lady just for beating them in a stupid competition like gardening. Really? Gardening? Of all the pathetic worthless things in the world to have a competition over Gardening was clearly the most useless of all things that could be used for a competition. Still, it was a useless thing to worry about and he didn’t have to worry about it. All he had to worry about was killing the old woman who had won the competition and the choice of how was up to him. There was only one thing that mattered and it was that he was going to be paid to kill this old woman. This was all that mattered to him, and so he would kill this woman with a smile on his face and make sure that he would indeed kill the old woman making sure that she would be unable to return to life even by the most unholy, evil, holy, or good of magics available. So now all he needed to do was find the residence of Ms. Cooper to put an end to her.

Oak Town despite some important landmarks and buildings Oak Town wasn’t an insanely large town, and being as such all he needed to do was ask someone where he could find Ms. Cooper. One nosey member in the town was happy to supply him with the information. Feitan approached him smiling widely “Hello sir. I am looking for Ms. Cooper’s home. I am with Fiore’s Greatest Gardner’s magazine. I would like to do an interview with her.” The man smiled and nodded his head giving Feitan a detailed set of directions of how to get to Ms. Cooper’s home and that would be more than enough for him to follow. Of course, he gave a few jewels to the man as thanks, but he was ready to go towards his target. As he walked there he thought about how he was going to do it. He could use this ham- fisted guise he had just invented in order to gain access to her house so he could have a bit of privacy for what he was supposed to do, or of course he could do what he liked to do and just wait sneak into the house at night and kill her while she was at her most vulnerable.

He didn’t know what he would do until he arrived at the house in question. The house was a very nice house, but simply made and decorated. What was beyond the standards was the fact that the garden around the house was like a jungle. Truly it was the reason this woman would indeed win such a simple thing as a gardening competition, but there was no reason that she would have to be killed as far as Feitan could see, but again he didn’t care about that. He was being paid, and as a paid killer formerly of Laughing Coffin and now in his new guild of Basilisk Fang he would make sure that this job went out without a hitch. As he stopped outside of the gate to this woman’s house he saw that she was there on her knees weeding her garden. He watched her for a moment before he cleared his throat smiling widely at her despite his cloak hiding his mouth “Hello there, madam. I am looking for Ms. Cooper. I am from Fiore’s Greatest Gardener’s Magazine and I am here to do a special interview with her. Would you happen to be the madam in question?” he asked knowing full well she was indeed, and deciding that he would kill her while looking her in the eye.

The old woman who was in the garden looked up at him smiling with that sweet old lady smile “Oh yes, I am Ms. Cooper.” She said as she rose to her feet “I haven’t heard of this particular magazine before.” 

Feitan smiled shaking his head “Likely not, we only just started up, but with this last competition we decided that you would have to be our first great Gardener. I do hope you find this alright.” He said looking as friendly as he could, but of course being that he looked the way he looked that wasn’t going very well at all. 

The old woman however, was very prideful which was perfect for Feitan as she smiled a bit wider dusting herself off “Oh, but of course deary. I do hope that you aren’t disappointed with what you hear however.” She said as she moved forward and opened the gate for Feitan who was happy to walk in the gate with the grace to close it behind him as if nothing was wrong or going to go wrong. The old woman turned heading into the house and leaving the door open for Feitan to walk in. He walked in with a great smile spreading on his face with how easy this was going to be.

Once inside of the house the old woman closed the door and moved past Feitan leading him out of the beautiful foyer which was decorated with various flowers and plant life which were in vases, window pots, and other such things. This woman had far too many plants in her house, it was a fire hazard and really this was more excellent news for Feitan being that he did want this to look like an accident to everyone else, except the old woman who he would take great pleasure in killing while looking her in the eyes. At present she led him into her living room where there were several comfortable looking chairs. She looked at him with that nice old lady smile “Is there anything I can get you to drink my dear?”
 
Feitan shook his head as he took his seat dusting off his cloak “Oh no madam. Thank you, but there really is no need please sit and we can begin. I don’t wish to take up more of your time than I absolutely have to.” When she seated herself he pressed his fingers together focusing his aura into his fingers as he did so “So tell me Ms. Cooper, do you have a will you’d like to be public if you were to die?”
 
She looked at him trying to figure out this line of questioning “Well, yes, but my children have it why do you ask?”
 

He smiled as he waved his right arm towards her letting his invisible aura wires fly towards her “Oh, just a question I like to ask everyone I am about to kill in this kind of manner.” He said as he watched the wires wrap around her neck. She felt it and tried to get up from her chair, but Feitan gripped the wires in both hands tightening it as hard as was possible; watching it dig into her flesh and the life slowly fade from her eyes “That’s right. You are being murdered. You see your enemy hired me to kill you. Don’t worry I don’t have any personal grudge against you. This is just business. Have a nice trip to the afterlife.” With a jerk of his hands he snapped her neck sending her on the trip right then.

When the woman’s head slumped over Feitan knew he had kill her, and that was all he needed. Slowly he rose to his feet moving to pat her on the head “It’s just good business Ms. Cooper, but you should be honored. After all you were such an amazing gardener that you were killed for it. Truly a legacy to be proud of. I do wish you all the best, and to show my respect for your great work, I am going to burn your glory to the ground so you can have it in the afterlife, or rather so no one else can steal it from you.”

He made his way over towards the woman’s kitchen finding the various flammable liquids that would work for his purposes. He filled the planters on the kitchen window sill with these liquids moving a longer vine plant towards the woman’s stove. He put the vines around the kitchen towards other flammable materials linking the materials to others. By the end of it there was a spider web of material linking the kitchen to the living room where a fire would catch carpets, drapes, and just get out of hand quickly. Of course the woman had some wine laying around so he doused a few pillows, carpets, and blankets in the stuff. Now that his prep work was done he inhaled and looked for matches that he knew would be around as she had a wood burning oven and stove, as well as a fireplace. He struck several matches and set them down all over starting several fires all over.

With the work done he walked out of the house carrying alcohol in each hand drawing lines from the door and places to the plants. Feitan didn’t stick close to the location instead he walked as far away as possible and simply watched. Only once the fire was outside and producing a lot of smoke burning the garden around it down he moved to the train station and headed back to his new guild hall knowing the money would be there for him when he arrived.
