Thalar

As it is known, Thalar is capable of shifting into another combat form that he can use as a means to carry those into battle and fight on his own. This creature is an extension of himself, a beastly creature that was meant to thrive in the wild as untamed and aggressive. Like his partner, his combat form stands 32ft at the shoulder and around 64ft from head to body as a rough estimation, with a tail length of 24ft. It is burly, with muscular legs, though the legs are rather short, its shoulders containing most of its current height. Yet, these short legs are powerful enough to carry it long distances before it has to rest, and jump long distances as well. The animal form of Thalar is a being that was meant to intimidate, rip, and tear apart its victims as soon as it got a hold of them. With its immense size, it is a formidable foe in battle, one that should not be tested unless one is looking for death.

Since this creature was designed to battle for long amounts of time in wars, it has a facial structure made for fighting. Its jaw is capable of unhinging like a snake's, widening enough to be able to swallow a few men all at once. The canines found inside of this maw are around 31in in length, with their sister teeth being a quarter of that size. It has beady eyes that seemingly pierce into the soul of a person, the color of its optics a mesmerizing green like its parent form. Large ears cover most of its head, able to hear for longer distances than a naturally sized lion would be able to. In this form, Thalar has to be constantly muzzled, or he will actively seek out anything that he can get his jaws around. This prevents him from being able to do that, keeping both his comrades and the innocents of Earthland safe from harm.

In this form, Thalar's fur shifts to a white shade from the black shade it had formerly been and grows in length. Instead of short, thick fur, it becomes a gnarled, knotted mess of snowy fur that isn't so soft to the touch like in his parent form. When going into battle, this beastly creature can be seen wearing a massive saddle on its back, that's capable of carrying two people. It has a furry mane covering its neck that could be used as a bed on nights that his partner and he are out for long amounts of time. On top of that, it has claws that are 11in in length, designed to rip and tear into the flesh of a victim and hold it down while eating it. Even the scars in his parent form carry over when he shifts into his combat form and his armor shifts into that of the saddle. Mess with this beast and it'll be sure to give its claws and teeth, so be prepared to battle a creature of this immense size.

Thalar is a gentle being for being a Vah Shir, showing the love and affection of a father to his children to those that are around him. He has a very mild temper and won’t outright ragequit on people when they have come to anger him in some sort of way. In fact, for his species, Thalar is an extremely kind Vah Shir, going out of his way to assure that his partner’s friends and family are doing well, and even the people of Earthland themselves. Being a creature of sympathetic nature, he tends to comfort those that are in need of safety and is willing to put his life on the line for them. People have a tendency to flock toward Thalar because of his sweet nature, seeking comfort and safety from the dangers of the world. It isn’t in his nature to throw aside the lives of innocents, rather he would stand by them through thick and thin to assure that they will do fine. This is his most valuable trait, an aspect of his personality that people love the most about the intimidating anthropomorphic feline.

Coupled with his willingness to comfort and provide safety to the innocent, Thalar can often be seen out on the streets, tending to the homeless. He would much rather give up his dinner for a night if it meant feeding someone who hasn’t eaten food in days since their last meal. It is this aspect that labels him as a noble being, offering to set aside time and money to tend to those that are in more need than he is. To assure that people have good lives, Thalar would do most anything in the world to make sure that those people have food in their stomachs and roofs over their heads. Thalar isn’t a Vah Shir that is greedy and selfish; he would willingly give away something if it meant making another person happy. More so, he is a man who would give up his own life if it meant saving the one thing that he loves the most, that being his partner. Nor would he ever raise a wrong hand to someone, even if they had wronged him in the worst way they could have possibly done.

Above all else, Thalar is someone who values the health of those that he loves and would never wish ill upon someone that he holds dear to his heart. In battle, the Vah Shir would much rather take a hit from a blade or a spell than to let the attack land upon the person he was meant to protect. He will sit by someone’s bedside day in and day out if they are ever sick, tending to their every need until they have healed from their illness or injury. The most important thing to Thalar is that someone is healthy and fit so that they may live through life with no complications. However, there is a deeper part to him for why he values health so much as well; the very fact that war requires healthy, fit individuals. His obsession with battles, wars, and fighting overrides all else and it is the driving force of his actions that lead him to do what he does. Though, in spite of all of this, if someone were to ever pass on because of ill-fate health, Thalar will be right there to support the grievers.

An unexpected thing that Thalar is known for, however, is that he has a tendency to be a frugal creature; ready to save on things than spend too much. One could say that he is the broker for his partner, making sure that his partner does not overspend their money or use it on useless things. As such, he has become a creature beneficial to his partner in providing materials, weaponry, and the like that are far exceeding in durability than what they’re worth. He knows how to ration out his food so that it lasts months in case he is to ever go on a mission that will keep him away from sources of food for long amounts of time. Nor is he one to waste anything, using every part of something until there is nothing left or what little is there is truly useless to him. Some call him cheap, penny-pinching, a person who doesn’t know how to use money like it should be used, when in reality, they are the ones using it wrong. For being a Vah Shir, a creature who is not adept in the ways of money making, he knows how to trade for things of greater value than his belongings.

Among the things that Thalar values, his liberty is that in the top five list, held higher than most other things, but below that of war. He is a creature that is unbound from society’s laws and will do whatever it takes to assure that the greater good unfolds in life. Thalar won’t hesitate to bring to justice those that others are scared of bringing justice to; a man who is stubborn and lawful at best. Nor will he ever stand for oppressiveness and the dependence of people who do not provide what their people need the most. It is this reason alone that Thalar is considered to be a part of the neutral good alignment, as he is willing to do what it takes so long as no one gets hurt. The only beings that he would ever hurt are those that break the law knowing full-well that they are breaking the law and monsters. When put in the position of hurting someone that he is close to in order for doing the right thing, he would much rather choose the life of that person than a good deed.

He expects nothing more than full effort from those that he works with, never wanting someone who only half-asses everything they do. A bit of pep in someone’s step is something that he looks for, feeling that going on missions with unwilling people wouldn’t be as much fun. But a bit of hardiness to someone would never hurt, as he wouldn’t want to bring someone along with him who is ill or injured. The person’s gotta have energy to them if they expect Thalar to do anything with them or else he’ll simply ignore their begginess. Unhealthy? Don’t even think about asking Thalar if he wants to go on a mission or do something productive to pass time. Not enthusiastic about something that Thalar brings up? Don’t even bother trying to converse with him and maintain a relationship. Thalar isn’t willing to have considerably “useless” people in his life if all they are going to do is hold him back because of a lack of vigor in their mind and body.

In order for Thalar to even remotely come to liking someone, they must prove that they are at least loyal to what they stand for. If someone in his partner’s guild state that they are loyal to the guild and only to the guild, he will expect as much from them. Someone stands for the right of good? By all means, Thalar will automatically expect that what they are saying is true. He will not stand for someone who spreads lies of what their beliefs are and will not hesitate to call them out if he believes they are untrue. Even for someone like himself, Thalar knows that if he expects such a thing from others, that he should expect the same for himself. However, as a Vah Shir, his loyalty is as undying as his race is, and as always, is willing to throw his life on the line for his partner’s guild. Do not expect any less than what Thalar is willing to give, for as much fidelity as someone like him has, he is willing to throw a lot on the line in pure faith and loyalty.

A prosperous being, that is true; Thalar excels at most everything that he comes across, especially things that involve that act of battling. He is a stubborn creature that if he finds something he does not excel at like he wishes to, he will train in it until he has mastered it. This is why Thalar is able to speak so many languages; he doesn’t quit something unless he knows he isn’t capable of learning it. However, he hasn’t yet come across a skill that he wasn’t able to master and is still learning new things with each day that passes by. Vah Shir are malleable beings, squishy in nature that enables them to learn things easily and at a quicker pace than most others. Without this skill, Thalar would not be a capable and proficient Vah Shir. . . sensibly a creature that disappoints his race. Essentially, he is someone who doesn’t give up easily, doesn’t know the word ‘failure’, and won’t stop until the “mission’s” complete.

As all beings are, Thalar is capable of overcoming difficulties and challenges that are set for him, often in very creative ways. When hardships overcome him, however, he isn’t afraid to admit defeat like those who are too cowardly to do such a thing. Deaths and losses are simply a part of life, Thalar is aware of this, and he isn’t afraid to show a little emotion when the time calls for it. There are some difficulties that people are not able to get over without the help of those around them and Thalar is one of those people. He will come to the aid and comfort of those who wish for it, there to help them heal as they are there to help him heal as well. If one cannot get over an adversity of their life, there are those around them who are willing to help the one that is in need. It takes a lot for a man like Thalar to admit he needs help, but he will push through the difficulties and ask for that needed help.

In the midst of battle, courage is called for, for even in the darkest hour of their time, there are those who will fall to the earth. It takes courage to see comrades fall in battle and continue on, but Thalar has seen enough of it in his life to never be fazed again. Even when he is severely injured and in danger, the Vah Shir will push through it all to prove his worth to those around him. This is what makes him a great companion to his partner, who is as equally stubborn and persistent as he is, easily mistaken for courageousness. The two of them work together in a unison and with each other at their sides, their flaws are made up for by each other’s strengths. Where his partner is not brave enough, Thalar will be there to stand in for them, pushing them through the hardest parts of their mission. He is the lionhearted warrior, the man in the mask, who is too crazy of a person to be doing what he should be doing.

It is well-known how Thalar is a gentle giant and that he would not lay a wrong hand on someone even if they were a bad person. He will fight them, surely, but he will not intentionally spill blood or break bones if he knows he is capable of avoiding such situations. Hence why Thalar is someone who abhors brutality and would much rather live in peace with everyone in the world than not. Thalar was classified as a noble savage in this, as he has everything that a savage does in brute strength and more, but is just as noble. Seeing cruelty being dealt to innocent people is something gets Thalar riled up and the very reason why he is sometimes set on edge. Intentionally hurting those who have no reason to be hurt, let alone should be hurt at all, gets the Vah Shir extremely angry. Being someone who will not stand for such brutality, the Vah Shir will often find himself being irrational and attacking the wrongdoer.

The thing that makes him most strange is that Thalar isn’t one who likes flattery; in fact, he absolutely despises being praised. While he doesn’t mind bragging about his own accomplishments and actually searching out the praising, he doesn’t like it when people do it on their own. He isn’t someone who goes out of his way to get the approval of others and in a sense, he sees them praising him as a type of flattery. Obviously, they want something from him and by flattering him, they assume that they will get whatever it is that they want from him. On the contrary, the Vah Shir isn’t someone who will willingly give things away simply because a person wants said thing. If he knows they are only trying to flatter him into giving it to them, all generosity goes out the door and he refuses to give it away. Should they want something from him, then it must be earned from him or for him to give to them of his own free will, not because they want it.

Taking into consideration of what was previously said, Thalar is a nobleman; having come from a high class of Vah Shir. As such, he is someone who holds the stature of a noble: a straightened back, broad shoulders, and a look of intent on his features. He does not look down on those who are lower class than him, but rather, he is a righteous being and is most notable for his noble deeds. His time in wars has given him an honorable stature and a title that is best fitting for a man who is considered to be a noble savage. A man that is moral in his ways, even though he may do what it takes to do what is good for the world and for the better of its people. Never once selfish in his entire life, the man is willing to give up things of his own belongings as a means to be seen as a better man. Unlike the greedy bigots of the world, Thalar was placed on Earthland to make sure that only the good comes out of life.

Description: At any given point in time, something can set Thalar off that causes him to become so angry that his will to control his Hellfire is lost. This causes his Hellfire to burst into a conflagration of flames surrounding his body in a seventy-five (75) meter diameter; the explosion also reaches seventy-five (75) meters upward. Anyone that is within 37.5 meters of Thalar will be considered the epicenter of the explosion and be dealt full rank damage. The 37.5 meters beyond the epicenter is considered outside of the epicenter, resulting in only 75% of the total damage. Those who are inside of the epicenter will receive 50% of damage on the initial hit, with 50% of damage for the remaining posts. For anyone else that is caught in the explosion, they will receive 37.5% of damage on the initial hit, with 37.5% for the remaining posts. As Thalar is considered the center of the explosion, he, too, will receive full damage, but it will not be in the form of a DoT.
Strengths:

• Anyone that is caught within the explosion will receive either full rank damage or only 75% of the damage
  
• It is a multi-target explosion, resulting in not just one person being affected, but up to a dozen or so people.
  
• Working in the form of a DoT, not all damage is dealt on the first blow, but rather is dealt over a series of posts
  

Weaknesses:

• Thalar is considered the center of the explosion and as a result, he receives full damage when causing the explosion
  
• Any allies that are caught within the explosion will either be dealt full rank damage or 75% of the total damage depending on where they are located
  
• Even Thalar's owner can be affected by the explosion, receiving either full rank damage or 75% damage depending on where they are
  
• If able to escape the explosion, not all damage may be dealt to a single target, such as if an outsider of the explosion stepped out of the range.

Description: Whenever Thalar becomes enraged, even in the silliest of ways, he often loses control over the flames he calls his own. As a result, during battle, the Hellfire will flare up around him enough that if he doesn't reel it in, it causes massive destruction. For everyone within a fifty (50) meter diameter around Thalar, they will receive 50% damage at the very epicenter and 37.5% outside of the epicenter. Those who are caught in the epicenter will receive an additional 50% in damage for four (4) posts after the initial hit. Anyone that is located outside of the epicenter will only receive 37.5% of damage for the remaining four (4) posts. Damage expelled by this ability causes the surrounding area to be engulfed in flames for the duration of the active. Anyone who so touches the flames will be given a burn that deals 7% of damage to them over the course of the ability.
Strengths:

• Damage dealt to an opponent is dependent on where they stand in the vicinity of the flame explosion, either full or 75% damage
  
• Damage is dealt over a course of five (5), with either 50% or 37.5% being dealt per post for each different person.
  
• In a seventy-five (75) meter explosion, an upwards of ten (10) people are capable of being injured by the magic
  

Weaknesses:

• Anyone, including the partner of Thalar and any of their allies, will be affected by the explosion of flames
  
• Despite Hellfire being one of the strongest, most durable type of flames, God Slayers are still capable of consuming the unholy flames
  
• Holy type of water is the only thing capable of reducing the flames into nothingness or at least reducing the damage by 50%
  
• At any point in time, a person may escape the explosion, receiving less damage than what was intended for them
  

As a natural ability of all Vah Shir, Thalar is capable of taking another form, but only a single given form is available. With this in mind, Thalar has chosen to be able to shapeshift between his natural panther form to that of an albino lion. He is capable of shifting between his parent form and his combat form whenever he wishes and it does not expend his energy. When in his combat form, Thalar loses all abilities that he had in his panther form, reducing him to a true, savage big cat. Whereas, if he is in his panther form, he loses a majority of the abilities that his combat form is capable of using. This ability does not allow Thalar to shapeshift someone else, as it is a birth ability that only affects his body. Others who can force people to shapeshift into things can force Thalar into his combat form instead of what they wish to turn him into.

As Vah Shir are bipedal felines, they maintain the characteristics of their fellow quadrupedal cousins and ancestors. Thus, they are able to fall from higher heights that would normally kill humans or other animals and receive little to no damage or injury. While falling, the Vah Shir are capable of shifting the way they are falling so that, when they land, they always land on their feet. This impact reduces the amount of damage that they receive if they were to land on their side or back instead, but is a higher risk of injuring their feet. However, heights that are caused by magical means, such as a spell lifting an opponent into the air and dropping them, still affect Thalar. That in mind, damage done by these types of spells are not reduced at all and remain at the current damage they deal. Actively falling from high places frequently or more often than a feline should, can result in moderate to severe unwanted damage.

Naturally, felines are capable of seeing in the dark far better than a human can, and thus, Thalar has impeccable sight during the nighttime. Like his partner, he is able to see in 1/6th the required light that a person needs to use in order to see in the dark. As such, he is far more active at night than he would be during the day, which strains his sight a lot more than at night. Subsequently, his sight during the day makes him near blind, able only to see distinctive things that are about 2-3 feet in front of him. Everything else around him, beyond the 2-3 feet, begin to become blurry until he isn't able to discern what is what. His eyes glow and reflect light whenever light is flashed on him during the nighttime and, as a result, can reveal where he is. He is also not capable of seeing in complete darkness and will have to resort to other means of being able to find his way around.

The Vah Shir are beings who are capable of mastering and fluently speaking all languages known to Earthland. Knowing this, it's automatically assumed that Thalar is able to speak any language, breaking the language barriers. However, if there is a language that he does not know, Thalar will spend long amounts of time studying and learning the language. In the end, there isn't a language that the Vah Shir are not able to master and speak without having studied it first. Keeping this in mind, it's not uncommon to see a Vah Shir walking around Earthland as a sort of translator for non-native speakers. Neither will the Vah Shir admit of a language that they are not capable of speaking and will disappear days on end to learn said language. Thalar has taken the time to learn every possible language there is to know, and thus, is able to fluently speak most or all languages.
