    THERE IS A THIN LINE
between what is good and what is evil
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable

It had been a few days since Vlad had left the land of sin; the adventure that he had endured in the land was one that he found very entertaining, though there was a sense he could not put his finger on. It was one that he knew quite well, though it seemed to be tainted; it was something that felt so familiar, yet so foreign at the same time. He was at a lose as to what could, possibly, be causing this sensation to fill his body. It was these things that would draw him back to sin; he could no longer stand it. It was a calling home, something that could not be ignored for very long.

Vlad let out a slight sigh as his environment began to change around him; the number of trees began to fall, until they were no longer visible. The grass would slowly change to a dark brown, before being replaced by some sort of red earth. The sky gradually took on a red tinge; this was the transition every adventurer who had traveled into the land of Sin had to endure. There was no, real, evidence he would find something. He simply had to follow this calling, what would he do if he missed out on this chance?

Looking around the rather dull land, there was not much to make note of; the occasional cloud would pass overhead, but aside from that there was nothing of significance. "What the fuck am I doing? I must be wasting my time here..." He sighed, looking around once more. It was this that would decide whether he was to continue on, or if he would turn back. As he finished his simple glance he would catch a glimpse of something; it was the reflection of the sun off of some surface. "Well, it seems that the decision has been made." He chuckled, adjusting his movement.

It was as he transversed the land that things seemed to make sense; on his last venture through Sin he had not encountered many beings, and as such he assumed the history to be a farce. "Land of Monsters" was a title that could be applied anywhere; it only took a few men who were very skilled at what they did to spread these rumors. The history that he had hear was no rumor, he was able to see the results of this with his own eyes. It had only taken a few moments before he was quickly enlightened to the truth. Not even ten meters lay between himself and some creature; he had never seen something such as this in any books, nor on any job he had taken. The beast was simply standing there; it was as though the beast had been sent to simply block his path. The beast, having a total of three arms, two legs and four eyes, simply lay in wait for its prey. Vlad was not the man who would fall victim to this creature; this was the perfect situation to use his secret means of transportation. The one thing no one expected. His roller blades! Cracking his neck, he would simply blast off; instantly hitting speeds of over 600 mph was rather rough on his body, though he managed to survive. It was as he sped to the town that he would flash by dozens of creatures, all varying in size. It was a rather beautiful scene, such freedom; there was nothing holding them back. It was as this thought crossed his mind that he would halt his motion, skidding to a stop. Stretching for a moment he would begin his entrance to the town... well, what was left.

The ruins were exactly what one would expect for the area, though they produced a very large aura; it was what had drawn him to the area, and what led to this discover. "The fuck is this..." He questioned, beginning to look around the abandoned town.

With each step he became more and more intoxicated with this aura; he couldn't help himself. He already knew this sensation would not leave him. He already knew what it meant; he had to discover what the cause of this was. He simply could not hold it in any longer. This aura reached its peak as he stood in the center of the town. "What the..." It was as he spoke that he could feel it approaching. Wait, what was it?

He was being pulled toward the center of the town, though he was unsure of the reason why; all that he knew was that he could feel that this place was much different than that of the rest of sin; no creatures loomed within the borders of this town, and the aura completely different; outside of this town the place felt chaotic, as though it was brooding with uncertainty. This town had something else; it was not uncertainty, it was something more basic. Something every being in existence could feel, relate to. It was something that was so primal that many feared it, though they did not realize so until they were forced to face it. Death. Death loomed over this place, and it seemed to trap Vlad with its allure.

^ Does not do the slightest justice but I can't find anything better.

The fringes of Sin were not as dangerous as the deeper lands,  but it was from the direction of the heart that the call was pulling Vlad,  tempting him to go further.   Past the forest and into the dry red-dust plains that would themselves lead to the heart of Sin,  the volcanic center locked in an endless night by ever present stormclouds,  the air itself toxic and hot enough to cook flesh.

Monsters were abound,  in all manner of varieties and species.  Every small creature and plant had in it the desire to kill and to trap,  making life unsustainable even for experienced mage who only added to the food chain.  Where the six-armed monster lost the pursuit a different twelve-legged giant centipede of ash and dust was attracted to the speed it sensed and took pursuit itself,  a ring of ashes and rippling air bursting around it as it took off in an immediate dash exceeding the speed of sound and began to gain on the mage who thought to intrude into the territory of Sin.

But the town that was calling to him was already in sight,  and as the centipede would draw near,  near enough to practically feel it's large pincers closing in,   there was a point where the aura that the ruins of the town ahead gave off rolled across one's body as though passing through a veil of some kind.   While Vlad passed seamlessly,  the centipede exploded wide into a shower of ashes and seven different clear vertical slices along the length of its body,  as though it had rushed full speed through several blades.   Each slice of the monster twitched and spasmed as they shriveled up,  giving off more ashes in clouds like it were melting.

The town was intensely quiet once the sizzling of the melting monster ceased,  lit by a harsh red and orange light of a distant sun reflecting off blankets of dark clouds above that moved outwards from further towards the heart of Sin.   Ruins were something of an overstatement,  most the buildings were pristine.  A few were burnt down closer to the fringes and some were covered in what appeared to be blood painted on in chaotic patterns and symbols.   Bodies and heads were used as decoration along the walls and on posts,  hanging from roofs and overhangs or impaled onto the side of buildings each in their own unique poses and state of completeness,  in varying degrees of flaying.    What once was a fenced off garden was now filled with arms and severed hands that stuck out of the ground like weeds.  Everything was unnaturally fresh,  as though each death occured only moments ago.

Decoration aside,  some buildings themselves were wrong.  Doors built horizontally,  windows tilted,  walls bent smoothly in a way that wood should not bend without shattering.    Shadows that seemed to move with one's perception,  figures that seemed to always stand on the edge of one's vision and a clinging sense of someone standing just out of sight.   Among all the painted ramblings, patterns, and symbols was one repeated phrase or name,  Aae'phaelleris.

There was an intense aura of death here,  and a primal sense of sheer wrongness in the very air itself independent of the psychotic ritualistic,  religious-like desecration of hundreds, even thousands of bodies that were all decorating the ghost town.  While the unholy presence was overwhelming everywhere throughout the town,  the sense of calling and temptation was drawing the mage closer to the center of the town.   Towards the tallest structure,  an old chapel.    The broken and gored bodies grew more dense and blood paintings more frequent towards the center,   until arriving at the chapel where not a single surface of the building was unadorned in a corpse splayed out in some symbolic manner.  In the town square in front of the chapel was much the same state,  with three corpses hanging from a platform designed to execute criminals in the past.   Each of the hanging corpses was flayed and had their ribs broken as to appear to mock angelic wings.

Stepping into the chapel itself, the aura would be so intense as to distort an individual's sense of perception, even more so than the natural fervor that occurred just approaching the town center,  almost making it difficult to stand at moments.    Inside there were rows of pews piled high towards the walls,  making room in the center for a gaping hole in the floor exposing a blackened pit where there were the bodies of hundreds of blood stained infants partially charred and nearly embedded into the ground forming a large red hand with a hole in the palm that dropped away into darkness.   A spine-like growth of bone trailed down the side of the hole,  like a ladder,   but there was no earth here,  the sides of the hole were red,  and pulsating.  Slick with red and warm,  the walls were flesh.  Meat and bone,  leading down into the unknown,  with temptation calling one to follow into the depths.

If answered,  the hole would continue down for several minutes of climbing until the hole finally ended,  but the spine continued,  opening into a large cavern,  the walls of which were just as red and as the hole was,   like the insides of a titanic body cavity.   Rib-like spires arched up along the inside of the walls,  everything here well lit by a crimson light coming from a ruby hand on the center of an altar that was dripping with blood that ran down the skulls set into the sides,   a shadow of a winged devil with one curved horn and a broken halo was cast against the cavern wall behind it,  making it loom ominously over the rest of the cavern as it bent up,  cast from the statue behind the altar,  two burning eyes of the statue watching the room.

More bodies were here,  lining the walls and the floor itself so no surface was seen until halfway up the cavern walls,   the only walkway was that of the spine that bent as it went downwards and then curved vertically to serve as a walkway towards an obsidian platform towards the far wall where the statue and altar were,  raised above the sea of bodies.   Each body was unclothed,  and while most the skin of most the bodies was covered in blood,  the bodies themselves were unharmed.  Each seemed perfect and intact except for twelve bodies that were set higher on the walls above the rest that were each flayed open wide revealing the complete skeletons within and impaled into the walls evenly spaced apart with faces contorted in pain.

This altar was the main source of the aura, the whole cavern pulsed with the sound of a large heart that was beating somewhere,  somewhere unseen,  some layer of reality that was unaturally close to this layer here,  in the shadow of the altar.   Each beat of the unseen heart sending a vibration through one's chest and echoing in the back of the mind.  From behind the altar,  someone turned to face Vlad.

    Marceline Anicetus
A familiar presence crawled along Marceline's earthen skin, raising the hair on her arms and the back of her neck. One sly and mischievous grin played across her luscious lips as she turned around to face whoever it was that had entered the room. Her red optics, that matched the bloodstained walls and floor, grazed over her surroundings again until they stopped upon Vladimir. Where the alter stood between the man and herself, only the upper part of her body was visible, to which most of it was covered by her waist-length hair. Red coated her body much like the room itself, dripping from her fingertips like she had been bleeding from wounds herself. She gracefully moved away from the table, her hair being brushed aside so that it was revealed her torso was bare. This, too, was covered in blood of various designs, all of which were symbols similar to the ones on the walls and the murdered.

She giggled and bite her forefinger with a sultry look in her eyes, stepping down the stairs that led up to the alter. "Do you like darkness?" she whispered seductively, approaching Vladimir and twirling around him in a circle. The nude woman came to stand in front of him, Her hair fully plastered to her back by the blood and exposing the rest of her as being unclad. Her arms reached up to wrap around his neck and pull him closer to her, their faces nearing each other as if she was bound to kiss him. It was then that her head would move away from his face and glide over to his ear, her lips brushing against the shell of it. "I've been. . ." she giggled as she realized her mistake and turned her head a little closer to him, "we've been waiting for you." Marceline pulled away from Vlad and even took a step back from the guildless male, clasping her hands behind her back.

The smile, that been none other than exciting and irresistible, shifted into a childlike, but psychotically happy expression. "Do you like what was done with the place? It was specially made for you and for Master," she retorted in a guileless tone. Her attention was torn away from the male and skimmed over the "breathing" walls with a pleased look on her face. She trailed a finger over the bloodied alter, swiped it upward and popped it into her mouth, licking up the blood. Marcy closed her eyes and made a satisfied sound at the taste of the rustic and metallic liquid that coated her tongue. Opening her orbs, the woman smeared her hand along the blood and rubbed it against her skin more, smudging the symbols over her body. However, the blood that had been wiped over her skin shifted and changed on its own, moving back into the symbols it had once been in.

"Do you think Master will appreciate what has been made out for Them?" she inquired, turning back to face Vladimir. Her eyes had turned from the childlike nature they had once been back to the sultry look that they were in the beginning. She stalked toward the male and threw herself against him, wrapping her arms back around his neck and nuzzling her face into his chest. "Master loves the blood of innocents and a ritual in Their wake, it's more plausible for Them to appear to the ones calling to Them in this." A giggle emitted from her throat, muffled slightly by the fabric that covered her equal's skin from the bare skin of hers. "Can't you just sense the death that envelops this place, it's so overwhelming and pleasing, it brings joy to my face." By now, her tone had turned dark and sadistic, her face pulling away from his chest as she hung back on the male.

"But a sacrifice must be made," she murmured softly, her gaze lowering from his and staring at his chest. "They won't be satisfied unless They have the soul given to Them of the one that pledges eternal servitude to Them." Her finger trailed along the center of his chest, drawing out where his heart would be, though it was stilled by her means. A smirk replaced the playful smile, and her finger stopped just where she would have been able to feel his heartbeat. "I hope that They won't mind the soul of an incubus. . . do you think They would mind that, my sweetest temptation?" She laughed at her words and let him go, dancing away and back to the alter, where she had first been spotted. Marceline's steps halted behind the alter and she splayed out across the tabletop with the dead body that had been gutted and flayed there.

Sensation of death grew ever stronger around her, but she had become so accustom to it that she was not aware. She wasn't aware of the circumstances until at long last, the presence had become overwhelming to her and she slipped frantically off the table. Her playful nature succumbed to a terrified one and she peaked out above the alter and at Vlad with wide eyes. "Do you feel that?" she questioned, as if she thought he would know what was causing the strange sensation only she could feel. Laughter filled the room once more and she stood to her feet again, laying her torso flat against the bloodied alter. "There's a heartbeat! There's a heartbeat! Oh, how joyous is this! They are coming? They must be coming? Why wouldn't They come? Their loyal servant is just as important?! Would They ignore the beckon and call of their truest servant?!" A frown creased her lips. "Perhaps."

Her crazed expression changed and she popped up to a standing position, dashing toward Vladimir and kissing him on the lips quickly. "You will join us. I'll make sure of it. Master will be pleased to have another under Their watch as someone who serves Them." From then on the woman would stick close to the male, swinging off to his right side and slipping her hand into his. She bounced lightly in her place, as if she was excited at the thought of her master coming to greet her new friend. Perhaps she was too joyous over this matter, too excited and childlike over the thought that Eris would appreciate her having done this. It made her wonder if she would be a spotlight in her master's eyes or if she would still be overlooked like the rest. Marcy didn't want that, though, she wanted to be the best servant there was in existence to a master such as Eris herself.

    THERE IS A THIN LINE
between what is good and what is evil
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable

Walking through the town, Vlad would come across a plethora of oddities that should not have occurred; it seemed logic had abandoned this place. Doors were randomly thrown on buildings, horizontally, vertically, diagonally; there was no rhyme or reason as to this configuration, however, it seemed to fit the feeling of this town; death reigned over the town, and it seemed to welcome no other feeling; death was a tyrannical being that offered very little welcome.

Death, this was what lined the streets; hanging from the buildings, thrown on the ground, simply littering the streets; corpses had claimed this place as their own. It seemed these corpses were what allowed for this place to exist; without so much death, how could a person expect to cultivate this feeling without these corpses? It was not possible.

It was this sense that drew Vlad in, deeper and deeper; the sense of pure death. Such a thing was so rare to come by, and often would be tainted by some idiotic mage who thought them self able to manipulate and maintain it; humans were such foolish creatures that allowed for the worst of the worst to occur; they cared very little for others, so long as it benefited themselves. What would the world be without the human race? Would the corruption that brought Vlad to this point still exist? Would Vlad still be drawn to the same conclusions, actions and demands as he were right now? Who knew?

The closer he approached to the church, the stronger this sensation got; as he got closer, it became tainted, no longer the sense of pure death, though one that held a familiar aura; Marceline. Looking into the building the first thing that caught his attention was some sort of hand which shot out of the ground; it seemed to exude death, despair and all the malicious intent a person could imagine; this was what drew him in further and further. Forcing him to continue his exploration, he could not simply leave such a thing be! What type of person would he be if he did not pursue this feeling? What would he do with himself? Would he be able to face himself? It was as he approached the hand, deciding on how to continue, that he would slip; tumbling down the tunnel he began to scream profanities; it seems he had slipped...

Tumbling from the great height he was able to feel it; the boney structure digging into his body from behind; it was something he couldn't avoid. It had to have been the most painful experience in his life; as the bone rip up his back, he couldn't help but scream; profanities echoed through the hollow tube. His sight began to blur; blood running down his back; it had to end soon, no?

Reaching out, he was able to grab hold of something; a boney structure. It seemed he was saved, for the moment. As his descent halted, he could feel his shoulder pop; it seemed he had over extended himself. Pulling himself up, through the pain that now rippled his body, he would continue to transverse the structure.  It was a bit of a bother, though each motion forward brought him towards this familiar aura; he was able to feel the presence of another; someone he knew quite well. Marceline; while he had seen her naked before, this was something that simply caught him off guard. He was befuddled; who would expect a female to be standing, naked, in such a place? Well, to be fair, it was Marceline. This was not something one could dismiss. Marceline was someone who was not someone who was tethered by ordinary standards; she was a but more free. This freedom, as some would call it, was depicted by each action she took.

Although she seemed to dislike his advances, not even a week ago, she was now rubbing against him; laying her head against his chest as though they were lovers; it was a bit odd. Shrugging it off, seeing as this was Marceline, he listened to each phrase she spoke; they all seemed to hold some significance to this situation. Master? The fuck is she talking about? This is all that really crossed his mind as she continued to speak of joining them, though it was never too clear on who they were. Well, it seemed he was going to find out.

"Well, you do have my attention; it seems you have changed your views since our last encounter... It was only a week ago? More or less?" He chuckled, allowing her to rub against him, though he simply stood there; there was no real way to react to this situation. He simply chose to accept it; after he had chosen to do so, he would begin to examine the room itself; it was as though he was thrown into the body of a human; the walls resembled that the muscle tissue of any being. "Well, where are we dear? Could you enlighten me on this?" He chuckled, beginning to walk around the place; it seemed he could not longer hold himself back.

His exploration led him to approach the walls, running his hand along the wall the blood would begin to smear; his hands, now covered in blood, were stimulated by the movement of blood; it moved slowly at first, until it began to move in an instant, taking the same form as it previously held. This seemed to interest Vlad, looking over the blood; "Hm..." He simply let it be. "Well, where is this master you speak of? Are you merely a servant? That is... interesting; why do you submit to being a simple servant? Why not move up the ranks?" He would ask these questions, interested in what her stakes were in this master of hers. It seemed his movements were not as elegant as they previously were, the pain becoming more apparent; what was he to do? Well, it seemed this was going to be an uncomfortable stay.

    Marceline Anicetus
Marceline was saddened when Vladimir pulled away from her, becoming more preoccupied with the room than with her. She watched him wander aimlessly around the room, a limp to his step from the injuries that he had received from his fall. Remaining where she was, her eyes glided along with his movements, studying how he touched the blood and observed it moving on its own. Finally, she took a step toward him, only to back down when the male turned in her direction and walked back to her side. He was a curious one, asking her questions about this and about that, all of which would be answered as quickly as possible. Her eyes roamed from her male counterpart to the bodies that decorated the walls and the blood that coated the room. Instinctively, her hand would reach out toward Vlad again, placing it gently on his injured shoulder and smearing blood down it.

"This place? Why it's the room in which a ritual is to take place in order to summon our goddess and master, Aae'phaelleris," she answered him. "All of these bodies that you see around you, they are sacrifices to her, in her name, but it is just the start of the ritual. What I have begun must be finished by you, as this is your union to my master and to all who belong underneath her." Her eyes glided back to Vladimir, her hand falling back to her side to clasp together with the other one resting there. She dropped her gaze to the floor, watched her feet, then glanced back up to look at the alter with the body resting on it. Slowly, she began to walk toward it, her steps indicative of an intention before she even reached the top of the alter. In one fell swoop, the woman pushed the lifeless body of the other woman onto the ground, the sound of it hitting stone echoing in the room.

Marcy turned around to face Vlad again, her hands pressed against the alter's top and behind her, supporting her weight. She crossed one leg over the other and dropped her head back, letting her long hair graze over the blood on the alter. For a long moment, the woman simply stood there, staring up at the ceiling as if it was telling her something Vladimir couldn't see or hear. After a few seconds had passed of her standing like that, she lifted her head back up and one hand off the alter, licking at the blood again. Pressing off of the stone table, the woman sauntered toward the male, stretching out her arms to wrap them around his neck. Tilting her head slightly, the woman kissed his neck and licked it, slicking off the blood that she had wiped there previously. "I prefer being a servant to Death," she answered him, her breath wispy against his neck as she spoke the words.

Death was a powerful feeling; even in this room, the sensation of death was something that was more evident than anything else. It overwhelmed every sense that a mage had, blocking out anything other than being able to feel as if impending doom was on its way. The feeling was just that, a feeling and nothing more, something that made one's skin crawl and raised the hair on the back of their neck. Even could give them the feeling that their heart was stopping, that their brain was slowly losing consciousness, and so forth. Such an indescribable action that it was different for every mage to experience, and for Marcy, it didn't effect her at all. Whereas, Vlad could feel anything compared to her, even as if he was reliving his own death himself while he stood in this room. Essentially, death was something left to interpretation, something that couldn't be described other than with cliche means that didn't do it justice.

"I want you to say her name, Vlad," Marceline murmured into his ear, running her tongue over the shell of the appendage. "Say her name and the ritual will commence and from there on, you may do as you will to me; I will be your sacrifice." She pulled back from her position and looked him in the eyes, a smirk drawing upon her lips before she leaned in and kissed him again. Eventually, she let go of his hands in her own and took a step back, admiring the male from a distance for a second. After that, she turned back around and headed toward the alter, her steps diligent, but holding a purpose to them. Once she reached the steps to the alter, the woman glanced for her shoulder to the male, then weaved her way upwards. Her advances stopped at the table itself, and she stood there in silence, watching Vladimir and contemplating her thoughts.

Raising a hand, she beckoned him with a forefinger, the smile widening on her lips to one that was more sexually playful and devious. She flicked her hair over she shoulder and crawled onto the table, turning herself onto her back and staring back up at the ceiling. Her hands busied themselves instantly, running over every part of her body, exploring every dip and curvature. Marceline shifted her head slightly and her hands moved from her body to extend out toward Vladimir once more. A sign that she wanted him to join her on the alter, where they would make the connection to Eris together, as one. In a way, it could sort of be seen as a union of two people into one, an act that could be considered similar to matrimony. Where she was giving herself to him, he was giving himself to her, and thus, they both were giving themselves to Her.

An intimate act in which one would become the sacrifice and the other the sacrificer, the anchor of the ritual. It was all on Vlad now and if he wished to go through with what was to come or rather if he was prepared to. As all of this had been explained to him, it would be a shame if he turned back now, uninterested in what was offered. That would cause discrepancies in what he had learned, bits and pieces of information that would have to forcibly be extracted by her or Eris. "Vladimir. . ." Marceline called his name, making a kissy face in his direction before dropping her arms to her side and looking away with a smile and sultry look. Through all the displays and actions that she had done, she had once again reverted back to the person he knew. To the person that he fell in love with, but simply hadn't recognized the feelings that he felt toward the succubus, artificial or not.

    THERE IS A THIN LINE
between what is good and what is evil
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable

It seemed the room could only distract him for so long; he already knew where this would lead. Marceline was the same person she had been on their last encounter; nothing had change, and he was fine with that. It always led to a very sensual encounter; he always enjoyed these sessions. It allowed for them to blow off some steam, to simply fulfill their desires; what more could a man ask for? It was as he began to turn, about to return to his position beside Marceline, that she began to move.

She seemed to move with much more elegance than she had previously; her movements held a much clearer reason behind them; she knew what she wanted and was ready to get it. This show, however, would soon come to an end. THUD... The body had hit the ground; it seemed she would not hold back any longer; perhaps she was not as true to herself as she let off? It was with this thought that she would look upwards, toward the ceiling; her body was as tempting as it had been since their first encounter, though he did not mind; he was expecting this type of encounter. It was simply something that could not be avoided.

Sex. This was one of the most primal acts that could be committed; it held significance in all parts of society; this extended all the way to religion. Who knew such an enjoyable act would be so frowned upon? It seemed society was rather prude when it came to sex; people were ashamed to discuss it. This, however, did not matter to Vlad; he knew what he wanted when he saw it and did not falter in obtaining it. Taking a step forward, it seemed Marceline had the same idea; her movement brought him to a halt; the elegance of each step took him by surprise; this was not the Marceline he knew; he simply knew the angry, direct version; this was something different. Something more?

It was as she wrapped her arms around his neck that he wanted to move; to take action and control. He was the type to take command, even in this situation. It was as she licked his neck that he moved his hands down, wrapping them around her waist; they began to move further and further south, grabbing her ass as she spoke in her ear. What a tease. Leaning in, he began to whisper in her ear. "Well, is this what you consider foreplay? Aae'phaelleris?" He chuckled, moving his head; it was as he did so that she would lean in, locking her lips against his; she had become more aggressive than earlier. This was the Marceline he was acquainted with. This was the version that had torn his clothes off and spun her web around him; trapping him to always be linked with her, not that he minded.

This side seemed to retreat, however, as she pulled away; backing away she seemed to be heading toward the altar; a smirk played across his lips. Removing his shirt, tossing it below, he would rub the back of his shoulder; it seemed the pain had dulled. Was this the effect of what she had done to him all those nights ago? Well, he was fine with it; he never disagreed with it.

Perhaps he was lost in thought for that moment, because when he had looked back up all he saw was her pleading motions; it seemed she was tired of this little dance just as much as he was. Taking his first step forward, it seemed she was starting without him. Her hands ran over her body, the same body he had enjoyed.

With each step he closed the gap between the two; with each step he grew closer to the same cathartic experience he had experienced in the past; with each step he grew closer to completing the "ritual." With this final step, he was now standing over Marceline; he stood there for a few moments; watching as the female pleased herself; ran her hands all across her body; it seemed she wanted company. He was a gentlemen, and as such he would accompany her.

No more than three seconds had passed before he leaned over; eclipsing her body, he would grab her hands; pinning them to the altar, he would move atop her; now eclipsing her body he leaned in, returning the kiss she had given him earlier. It seemed it had wanted to go home, and how could Vlad resist such a primal cry? It was with this kiss that his left hand would release, trailing down her body. It seemed to have a mind of its own; tracing over her body, as an explorer would new land, he would not miss a single dip. It was after a few moments that it would find its destination, the same place that it had ravished previously. Leaning forward he would whisper into her ear, "It seems like history does repeat itself." A slight chuckle escaped his lips, his hand still plenty occupied below.

His tongue would escape the confines of his mouth; running free on her neck it seemed to be loose, uncontrolled. It was as he reached her collar bone that he would lean in, bitting into her skin. It was something that simply felt natural to do; something that she would enjoy. It was in that moment that she could hear the clang of his belt falling to the ground; he did not like to waste time in these endeavors; they were something that was driven by spontaneity and passion. These two things could not be wasted by the hesitations of a man? Why should he hesitate? He knew what he wanted, he knew he would enjoy this; hell, he knew she would enjoy this.

Not even a second had passed from the clang to the act of defilement; it seemed he was rather eager. Teasing was something he had very much enjoyed, especially with Marceline, however, it seemed they both were too caught up to be bothered by such a trivial thing. It was merely a waste of time. It did nothing to further the ecstasy the two felt as they became one. This was the ritual they partook in; this was the "matrimony" of the two; though, he doubted she would see it as such. It seemed she held a notion of love that overtook even these moments; this was something that didn't bother Vlad, he did not expect much. It was this lack of expectations that allowed him to be so rough; to do as he pleased; to reach the heights of ecstasy. This sacrifice was a very willing one; she loved to be "sacrificed" for her master; perhaps she planned to make a hobby of it.

It was at this point that something began to eat away at Vlad; it was something he should have noticed earlier; all this talk of a master, and the writing on the walls. Ah, this was the sacrifice? It seemed this was something more than it appeared; well, seeing as it was a ritual he should focus on summoning this master of hers; this was no longer about pleasing himself. No, it was now about completing this ritual; it was nothing too elaborate, though it does seem to add a new element to the whole event. While this had caused him to hesitate for a moment; he no longer did so. His goal was clear; summoning the master.

    Marceline Anicetus
Rituals were tedious ordeals. A person always had to make sure they had everything prepared for what they were about to summon. If they missed one vital part of the ritual, it was likely they would mess up and either anger the thing they were summoning or not summon it at all. Those two options were things that a person would try to avoid as much as possible when summoning a demonic creature. Luckily, for Marceline, she knew how rituals went, she knew that one wrong step could lead to a very, very bad ending. It was why she had put so much care into this ritual in order to make sure that what Vlad did would not mess it up. Each body strung up on the wall was symbolic to the ritual ahead of them, each body had a written letter symbolizing something. Every droplet of blood on the floor was precisely placed, creating a mosaic of red across the floor of the room.

Along the walls of the room were bloodied hand prints, all of which were the symbol of Grim Heresy coating the basis of the tiny area. To the naked eye, these bloodied hand prints would look like just bloodied hand prints, nothing that signified a guild. On each and every body that hung along the walls and on the floor, there was a burnt hand print on a section of untouched skin. Every forehead of the bodies had a written symbol representing one of the five stages of grief, repeating over and over again until all bodies had a symbol on it. This was repeated with a symbol that represented each feeling of love one felt for another, over and over again until every body had one on it. The rest of the bodies were flayed so that the skin was gone and only the meat and bones remained of the victims. It would come to a person's realization by now that every body in this room was not of male origin, but of female.

A low sound emitted through the room, soft and barely audible to the ears, easily mistaken for something a person was just imagining. It was a sound that had a beat to it, a rumble of a tha-thud, tha-thud as if it was mimicking a heartbeat from somewhere beyond. The sound was seemingly projected into the room, echoing and reverberating against the walls as it grew louder. This sound drowned out all other sound within the room until it had become the main source of noise as the ritual progressed. Eventually, another heartbeat joined in with the other, a separate pattern to the other, beating to a different rhythm. Despite the two undead demons in the room, their hearts never beating, it was as if these two heartbeats were representative of them. More so, an even softer sound beneath the beating hearts could be heard, faint and as if it was fading away.

Marceline wrapped her bare legs around Vlad's hips, her fingers finding their way to dig sharply into his flesh. Runic markings crawled along her earthen skin, wrapping around each of her limbs and coating them like they were tattoos. They burned over the ones she already had, the tattoos that marred her body from thighs to throat in various places. Each runic marking glowed an ember red, like it was being carved into her skin with a brandishing tool. Her eyes succumbed to the fires within, her pupils becoming like two dots of flames in an abyss of black. Cracks peeled along her clay flesh, ash spilling out of the seams like she was shedding tears of black blood. The trails smeared along the already grayed skin, turning it black where the trails streaked down her cheeks.

Her mouth bared opened, flashing sharpened canines as her head was thrown back in the fray of feelings and emotions. Half-lidded eyes watched Vlad as he pushed the ritual onward, opening doors that should never have been opened.

Rituals were something that could change the very fabric of what a person understood; they could unleash a plethora if knowledge, power and even entities into this world; these things, however, were often limited to those who were able to perform the ritual, successfully. Who cared for the failures? While they may help the summoner perfect the ritual, it held no other value than that. A failed experiment that disproved a person's hypothesis. This hypothesis, no matter how incorrect, was something that could change the scientists world; if it was of such importance that it changed their own beliefs. Vladimir believed this ritual to be on the same level as that. This ritual would change the very being of Vladimir, it would effect the way he worked in this world. He had no concrete proof, however, he had a gut feeling. It urged him to ensure the rituals success. It urged him forward, whispered words of temptation into his ear.

Yes, this was beginning to feel eerily familiar. It was as though this situation had occurred before; it was as though he had felt this whisper before, as though he had heard it. What was this feeling of nostalgia? Why did it haunt him?

It was these unanswered questions that forced him to proceed with this little ritual of theirs; he had to know what lay beneath the surface, what the truth was; the truths of this world were so shallow, they had to be a mere illusion; he hoped this would help dissipate these ghosts, enlighten his way. Help him along the path that he deemed worthy of travel; it was one that was quite overgrown. It seemed not many traveled this oath, and none cared to keep the trail clean. Society's jaded beliefs littered the path, making it a difficult journey; it was not as though those who traveled this path were hero's, but we're they as nefarious as those who abused the system to steal from the poor? Why was this something that none understood? Hell, who cared at this point. All he cared about was this ritual; the motions continued as March began to change. Was this a sign of success? Watching her head, he simply let out a smirk. Was this some form of sign? He did not know what was supposed to happen before the arrival of her master; was this simply her response to the moment?

It frustrated Vladimir, being unable to identify any useful information, his movements began to quicken; the motions became more forceful. He wanted to meet this mysterious figure. What were they like? Well, it seemed he would find out...

    Eris

Eris was aware of the ritual to take place in the halls of one of her most ancient places of worship that she had allowed one of her present day followers to enter,  guided by her will to the forgotten town of Golgothel,  the site of mass sacrifices and daily rituals as her influence grew stronger in those times until in their fanaticism they succeeded in completing the first true holy site in her name with the blood of their own lives laid down before her in the hopes of achieving immortality through Sanguinoth.

Their success was not without a cost,  as each of their lives was given up in her name and into her possession  for her leisure.   Each soul remained bound for eternity to their own flesh,  each body as though frozen in time,  fresh as the day of their death.   None more so than the bodies surrounding the altar below,  where their prayers were answered with the formation of a corruption that twisted the reality itself into a visage of Sanguinoth's image.  The earth becoming as flesh leading to the chamber below the old chapel with blood soaked walls of meat,  the lives of the last surviving ritualists brought hid the floor entirely, leaving no gap between them,  hundreds of bare women laying dead but perfect,  as though having slipped into an eternal sleep in the midst of their praise,  unlike the twelve bodies of the flayed that were impaled against the wall with mathematical precision in their spacing equally around the flesh-room.   There was an eerie motion to the bodies as though they were not rested on stable ground,  as they were not,  but instead the mass floated atop a lake of blood that occasionally leaked up through the bare flesh to leave red splashes on the bodies before it slowly faded away with time keeping them all mostly clean and exposed.

The room would not be traversable at all if not for the spine-like bridge that curved up against the far wall to become a makeshift ladder up the fleshy passage up to the chapel above,  its other end giving way to short steps up to the obsidian platform.    All the bodies in the sea below the platform made convienient material for rituals here on the altar of skulls that lay under the gaze of the statue of Sanguinoth herself that loomed over the room casting a sinister glow that lit the chamber,  and in this instance,  the two bodies atop her altar locked in a heated exchange in an occult attempt to reach out and call to her,  requesting communication with her.  Requesting her presence.   Here in this chamber her presence was strongest,  the land here thick with the aura of death and a primordial void that strained the fibers of reality here.  Fresh sacrifices were brought in by the one she chose for the task today,  new lives dragged in and given up on the altar and put on display on the obsidian platform,  painted with symbols and flayed open,  others used as parts or kept whole laying nearby for future purpose.   They would be added to the lake below when all was through,  their bodies reforming to become whole like the rest below.

Simply entering the boundaries of the town itself was enough to draw Eris's eye,  entering her chamber demanded her attention.   She was well aware of them,  by her design were they there in the first place.   The new consort of one of her favorites possessed a certain spark that.  By association through Marceline,  Eris drew him in.  He already succeeded a first test,  answering the "Call",  the sense of presence that drew one in much like Marceline herself answered atop the mountain.   There was just the last test of sorts needed,  a gauge of intent and willingness,  before Eris extended her hand.   As the two reached out to her upon the altar,  Eris's gaze was waiting,  perceiving.  Reading them to their cores.  Their hearts desires and wishes laid as bare as their physical selves.

The lake of bodies stirred below the platform,  a wave disturbing their stillness.  A rippling of dipping bodies and blood splashing up from the unseen depths below.  The red glow of the statue growing more intense and striking,  casting sheer shadows across the chamber and distorting perception of sight and sound.  The sound of a heart beat present from the weight of the aura itself that clung to the room grew more verbose,  thudding deep within one's own body in an echo.   A faint background static was heard as though far away,  but it grew louder quickly until the static crew more pronounced,  recognizable as the wailing of thousands... millions,   untold numbers of tortured souls.   With the rising screams of the damned,  a blood-red figure slowly drew up from the lake of blood and flesh.  A womanly figure, though far too large to be assumed human.   Long hair hid her head,  soaked in the dark blood,  but it was clear that she was as bare as every other form in the chamber.

Despite the depth of the lake she walked across the surface towards the altar,  towards the two,  a headache would spike through the minds of most as an unearthly unnaturalness to her gait disturbed one's core being and concept of reality.   When she neared the platform,  which despite its raised elevation came up to her thighs,  her walk was not slowed or interrupted,  but inky smoke and shadow bled out from where the platform met with her body as though she were a specter unbothered by the solid matter,  passing through it with casual ease.  But just as smoothly in a twisting elegant motion of the same black ethereal substance the larger woman stepped forward out from the visage of the titan to stand before the altar,  still towering but more in line with the dimensions of the statue above than the giant that approached.

Standing several feet taller than any mortal soul,  Eris gazed upon the two in the flesh.  Her presence brought here in person,  as real to them now as they were to each other.  Her head lifted up,  her chin raised as she parted her hair over her shoulders,  pulling it back to reveal a skull with deep black voids with pinpoints of fire in place of eyes of flesh.   Like a bad dream the sight faded away into flesh as the rest of her form,  but leaving the impression that those two fiery eyes were still there behind it all,  watching behind this facade.

Blood dripped from her still,  but it dripped off in droves,  the slick red liquid sliding off along every curve as though rejected by her,  leaving no stain to mark her body,  leaving only a sheer whiteness that was her snow-white skin and hair,  steel grey eyes hiding the flames from before.   Something about her presence was forceful,  commanding.  But through the frightful weight of the atmosphere she gave off,  that somehow still added to the presence already felt in this sacred chamber,  there was a still reassurance tinged in sin and lust that egged the to to carry on, as though it would be pleasing to her,  that they wanted to,  that she wanted them to.  A wordless communication through the senses.   Looking down on them from her height Eris lifted a hand and touched the back of the man who lay atop her chosen,  the corner of her lips curling into a pleased smile as she faded away into smoke once more,  smoke that seemed to flow over the woman on the altar,  black ashes that bled from her body entangling with the black smoke and embers that flickered as Eris flowed over her,  her body temporarily hidden by a skin-conforming veil of smokey wisps until it vanished,  the woman's body whole again,  but a new glint of personality shimmering behind those eyes,  as though someone new had taken residence.   Marceline's lips curled into a pleased smirk mirroring the mistress who had stood above the two.

    "What do you desire".

    THERE IS A THIN LINE
between what is good and what is evil

As his motioned changed, the aura of the room began to change; there was something present that was not here a moment ago. He could feel the presence of the other; he understood what this change meant; it seemed this was a success. He was ready to congratulate himself, but it seemed he was taken aback.

Everything had happened in an instant, there was no way to truly distinguish what was happening. There was a hand on his back; someone new. He had no idea who it was, someone was summoned? It was as this thought crossed his mind that the dark smoke would run around the two; it covered the entirety of Marceline, intertwining with her ash. What was this substance? It was as he began to lean in, to examine this turn of events that Marceline would change; she had taken on a smirk that was unusual for the female, though he liked it.

It was in this moment that he would simply blink, though when he opened his eyes there was nothing; the entire area was devoid of anything; how long had he been there? It had to have been hours now... It was now that he heard the whisper.

"Change." Was all he could muster. It seems he found himself lost in this place, it was something that was drawing him deeper and deeper into its embrace. This was a place he found comforting. How odd. "I seek change."
