Name: Roy the Chanter
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Birthday: March 12th
Sexuality: Straight
Special Characteristics: Not Applicable
Personality:
Roy's mission, his passion in life is eradicating the world of evil and especially the demonic. He is a practicing follower of the church of Zentopia. As such he tries to live his life in a way that exemplifies virtue, and love of others. The exception to this being when he encounters any semblance of the demonic, be it an actual spirit of evil or a practitioner of demonic magic who uses their abilities for evil.
Roy takes a very calm approach to life, he enjoys simple things more than most. Food, drink, tobacco, fighting and friendship chief among these things. He does have higher pursuits however, as he is an avid fan of the arts. Reading voraciously books of fiction, history, poetry and etc. He is even an amateur poet himself, commonly chanting songs and poems to himself that he is currently in the middle of creating, or if he enjoys them enough ones that he has finished. These poems and songs are so important to him that he often uses them to release his magical power. Certain incantations helping him to focus his magical power and cast his spells or release his full potential. He is also an avid practitioner of martial arts, practicing daily as a means of finding peace in himself, and honing his skills as a warrior. He implements his martial arts into his magic as many mages do to further increase his combat potential.
Roy follows a chivalrous code on a daily basis. Taking very seriously his duties as a man of holiness, and a warrior for good. He would not strike a women unless he felt he had to, or was engaging in training with one. He does not view women as weaker or inferior to men, but merely as more valuable than men. In fact he will go out of his way to obey any request that is reasonable if given to him women. He will also whether asked or not, always do his best to escort a lady safely to her destination even if it puts him off of his own path. Women who are stronger than him, even considerably so are no exception. Once more it is not his believe in the weakness of women that drives him to do this but his belief in their inherent value. He is slower to trust other men, and believes that it is largely due to the failure of mankind that the world is as grim as it is. He is quick to judge a mans character based on their bravery in adversity of danger, treatment of women, and those who are below them. If any of these are out of place, then there is almost no chance that he would grow to trust them.
In battle Roy prefers to fight as a cunning strategist. He understands that might can indeed make right, but he values intelligence above brute force any day of the week. He views his life and his health as merely one more commodity to be traded and sold for results on the battlefield. If pushed far enough Roy is more than willing to put his very life in danger to succeed in battle. Roy has often gained the edge in battle by fooling his opponents into thinking that he is nothing more than a basic fighter with just a couple of spells up his sleeve, and then suddenly unveiling a cunning and very destructive strategy. Roy is also very good at concealing himself due to his lineage and his training; he can hide in the shadows well and when he wishes he can make no audible noise when he moves. He will often use this to stab his opponents in the back, or assassinate him. Roy's code of honor seems a bit contradictory to his fighting method, but he does not believe there is any place for honor on the battlefield. A serious battle is always barbaric, bloody, and messy in his eyes. He sees no reason to pretend that battle is anything other than that. He believes the only honor in battle is who and what one fights for, rather than how they fight.
Roy's most endearing qualities are his iron will, and his loyalty. Roy has endured a great amount of physical and emotional pain in his life and has become rather apathetic to both. If anything stands out about Roy however it is his undying loyalty to the people and the groups that he follows. If one manages to earn his loyalty then they will find in him a tireless ally, and a most worthy companion. Though his loyalty is known to be hard to earn at first, it is not an insurmountable task. Roy does not mind being led, in fact he truly doesn't wish to be much of a leader himself. But he will not follow anyone that he doesn't trust or like, and does not take kindly to being ordered around even by someone who has fallen into his good favor. He prefers to be asked as a friend, and if a trustworthy individual asks of him something and comes to him as a friend, there is little chance that Roy would refuse them.
However on the negative side he is notoriously bullheaded, and can be stubborn as a mule. He isn't afraid of bluntly pointing out what he dislikes in a person, even if it could spell unneeded trouble for himself. He despises being ordered around, or pushed around and any attempts to do so generally end in a fight, sometimes verbally, sometime physically, oftentimes both.
