Kagami Numata
"Magic. It's only used to put down the weak and keep them in check. Why is that? I'll show those dogs true strength; True integrity."
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Birthday: April 1st
Sexuality: Straight
Special Characteristics: Kagami’s eyes are those of a demon and glow a deep red when activated that can permeate any darkness.
Personality:
The fearless one. This is how Kagami would prefer people to view him. The tragedies that have befallen him in his life have conditioned him to put up a front of being the soldier who isn’t intimidated by anyone or anything. He is solemn, somber, and intimidating. He tends to conceal his usual bad temper to the point where it is still there, but very subtle. This front is accurate to an extent, but given the right circumstances, the illusion crumbles; if he gets locked in an enclosed area, for example; or he is forced in another way to relive some of his past trauma.
When he is outside of a professional situation or is not facing off against an opponent, Kagami is much more relaxed. He still acts serious and somewhat cold, but he is noticeably more lighthearted and willing to laugh. He is also much more sarcastic. When his temper flares around this time, he shows no restraint; commonly willing to make disagreements that retrospectively seem extremely petty turn to fists, or in some cases, blades.
Kagami would be considered by most to be a passionate individual. He has very strong opinions on his disdain for magic and the oppression that he finds it to bring on the general populace. He would advocate for the total removal of magic from society. His passions are not limited to just his rather radical views, however. He additionally is an avid collector of all types of weapons from swords to halberds to firearms and so on; appreciating them for their immense historical value and artistry. Kagami is also one to almost zealously frequent the casino as he is extremely talented at many forms of gambling, mostly taught to him by his father as a young boy.
Another important thing to note about Kagami is his approach to combat. Honorable combat is part of the bushido taught to him during his training as a child. However, as he has grown and trained in different places with wildly different cultures and approaches to combat, Kagami no longer holds this tenant as highly as he once did. If he believes that his only chance of victory in an engagement is to fight dishonorably, he will do it without hesitation. But he still sees the innate appeal of mutual respect between enemies, so if he is given the chance, he would have no issue fighting on even and honorable terms.
Lastly is Kagami’s leadership ability. In short, he has the makings of a leader but prefers to follow than lead. Leadership seems almost like a burden to Kagami. He has no visions of grandeur when it comes to being able to control others below him directly .Even in the case of being a follower, he can take orders from his superiors with no issue, but he always will do them his own way. If he is asked to kill an innocent, for example, he would make sure that the person was able to live, but never be seen by his superiors again.

Likes:
- Weapons. Kagami sees himself as a bit of a weapon enthusiast. He only has a handful that he would trust enough to bring on a mission with him, but he has a small collection of weapons that he finds particularly fascinating.
- Gambling. Kagami has always enjoyed the euphoric feeling that he gets from high stakes gambling. It was something he did a lot even as a child to help support his struggling family.
- Honorable combat. Having originally been trained by a master samurai in Midi, Kagami has always had a certain respect for those who fight on even terms with their opponent and not resort to unfair advantages or surprise attacks. Fighting honorably is not at the top of his priority list most of the time, but he will do it if given the chance.
Dislikes:
- Magic. Kagami finds that magic is something that is used to oppress others and that the world would be much better off if the world had no magic, and the citizens of Earthland simply found alternate means to live.
- Cultists. As a child, Kagami was kidnapped and held prisoner by a group of cultists for a little over a year. This understandably gave him some significant bias against people like this.
- The Council. The Magic Council were the ones who sent assassins to attempt to kill Kagami and his family when he was a young boy.
Motivations:
- Purifying the Council. Kagami wishes to eventually purge the Council of its corruption by whatever means necessary. After his family was almost killed by the Council’s corruption, he wants to make sure that nothing like that could ever happen to anyone else.
- Finding his family. After his mother and unborn brother were forced to leave Earthland, Kagami has spent the next 14 years attempting to find them, still to no avail.
- Overthrowing the Midi Rebel Government. The Rebel terrorist group in Midi overthrew Kagami’s family from power in their province there. He wishes to find some closure by overthrowing this oppressive regime.
Fears:
- Holiness. Kagami’s eyes are demonic in nature thanks to them being obtained from a demonic contract. This means that anytime he is near any holy areas or objects, he is struck by a intense burning pain.
- Imprisonment. After being imprisoned for 2 years by an order of cultists, Kagami has begun fearing the prospect of being imprisoned again.
- Claustrophobia. Similar to the above, Kagami’s imprisonment has given him a bad case of claustrophobia. Even a decently spacious locked room can put him in a panic.
