    Private Silent Night [Hikachu/Chrono]

Post by Chrono 30th July 2016, 10:05 am

One had noticed Chrono's determination recently; his work ethics, effort and survival instincts. That same person had noticed the exhaustion written on his face, so he was recommended to pay a visit here, where work was limited and peace was at its utmost: Peace Village. Such an occasion reminded the man of his time in Talonia, but even then he encountered lots of drunks, along with someone he had delightfully conversed with for a while afterwards - not much silence in that event. Well, to be fair, he was eager to experience the latter, but simultaneously, he wanted to learn more about himself. You could say this was part two of his soul-searching. Naturally, doing so here was much more relaxing; it gave Chrono the vibe that freedom was more available here than anywhere else.

As a traveler, Chrono could never recall the entirety of any experience he had been through, other than those that had just occurred recently, for example. He could always recognize faces he had seen in the past, but never a day he had lived completely. Only his memory was to blame for this, as the male could swear now he was living close to 50 generations at this point in time. To everyone, he still appeared as someone looking in their teens; someone whose physical form didn't appear perfectly developed, but youthful despite his actual age. Albeit, this did not stop him from ever going through a phase like this - making a decision like such.

Everything seemed rather quiet indeed among this atmosphere, though Chrono knew that no matter where he went, there was always something special happening. Either that, or he was bound to come across someone new, as there was never a place unoccupied by civilization in this continent. Simply put, people were willing to go anywhere. "Let us move to the central area." The king of the sand spoke to the sand endlessly running behind him, "Today, we--" He paused for a moment. Whether it was just around the corner, or from afar, he could sense the magic signature of someone within this village.

    Snowflake

cold as ice swift as wind
    the whole world i'll acquire

Such a place does really exist – were Snowflake’s first thoughts when she had set foot into the Peace Village, astonished by how the people had maintained the town’s tranquility. The loud clacking of her wedged heels pierced through the silence that reigned supreme within the land. Curious grey hues glided across the district and inventoried her surroundings as gentle zephyrs caressed her pale skin ever so lightly and wafted through her gorgeous sapphire hair. A few weeks or so, had she been in Fiore after witnessing the downfall of her own kingdom in front of her eyes. The sight of her parents laying lifelessly on the floor of her castle and her home being burnt down were adhesively glued onto the back of her mind. The girl had never been able to bring herself to forget the memory nor the pain she had felt as if it was etched into her heart. The wound it had caused her, had brought her motivation and a permanent resolute to save her country once she was certain that she was strong enough.

Staring over the horizon, she noticed the neon colours of orange and red that spread over the empyrean above. Beautiful, isn’t it?, she found her inner self questioning her until she released a long sigh of exasperation consisting of the burden on her shoulders. If only, life was simple enough. Snowflake remained motionless, her arms crossed over her chest while her thoughts wandered off to a place where no one could reach. The howling of the wind and the rustle of the leaves was all she could notice until a strange presence of magic intruded her privacy. Silver optics immediately darted sideways, her brows deeply plowed in dissatisfaction wondering who on earth would have dared to disturb her peace. The weapon that clung onto her belt produced a soft clang of metal as she moved, her body tilted slightly so as to face the person.

As silver pools crossed over the gaze of cyan, fused with colours of diversity; she found herself surprised at the sight of a man, no, a mage. His presence alone and the dusts of sand that snaked around his body was enough to tell her that this man was no different compared to her, only that he appeared slightly strange. Strands of burgundy hair partly concealed his orbs with black rings that lined around his eyes as if he was suffering from insomnia. The wind blew across the undulating lands of the village once again and this time, the young girl was able to see his face entirely when a strange letter tattooed in red ink on his forehead flashed before her eyes. “Can I help you?

There it was, or rather, she was! Chrono knew he had sensed something earlier, and this was his discovery. Soothing winds ran by his burgundy hair upon noticing the woman. There was no doubting that this sort of weather had occurred uncommonly in this instant. The feeling of it was so gentle, as if matching the tone of the female's voice upon contact with the male. She had this light shade of blue hair that one could only imagine seeing in the north, yet her attire allowed her to appear casual anywhere but the north. Just who was this woman exactly?

"I'm fine, thank you." Chrono replied, "I am only here to explore this village and its calm atmosphere today. I tend to visit areas such as this one when I need to do some thinking." Perhaps the man was lying slightly during this statement. Noise bothered him, but not to the extent where he would ever force himself elsewhere. It was rather the name of this village and its direct message of relaxation that persuaded the sand mage here during this now windy occasion. "My name is Chrono Libra. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss." He greeted with an arm extended for a handshake. It was unlike Chrono to be so formal, but the vibe this female gave off advised the fellow that he should be. She appeared innocent, after all.

During this newly formed conversation, the wizard's eyes had been locked with the girl due to extreme curiosity. Within her eyes, Chrono could see colors similar to the arctic, as that was the color pattern these eyes seemed to reflect. This lady had to be human from what the supposed gentleman could see from his own set of eyes, yet the aura this other definite mage gave off was totally distinct from any other human Chrono had met. He could literally envision the environment she came from just from his sense of magic. It was beautiful to be honest. A happy smile drew itself on his face. This was going to be an interesting encounter.

    Snowflake

cold as ice swift as wind

It was extraordinarily quiet that Snowflake could only here the audible sound of the man’s voice apart from the whisper of the wind. The girl unfolded her arms and gently clutched onto the hilt of her dust rapier as her stormy hues travelled outwards into a distance, breaking the eye contact between herself and the man that stood before her. The bangs that framed the feature of her visage gently caressed her cheek as the gales blew through the land. “It is really peaceful, isn’t it?” she began, a small smile etched on her face, a glint of sparkle reflected within her eyes as if she was content with everything she had at that precise moment. "You’re right. This would certainly be a nice place to do some thinking." she agreed, neatly tucking blue strands of hair behind her ear. Snowflake returned her gaze towards him once again and accepted the handshake that he had offered. “Call me Snowflake, please. Or Snow, if you prefer.” she paused for a brief moment, feeling the warmth of his hand before releasing it. “The pleasure’s all mine.

Chrono – or so he addresses himself, reminded her of a place that was extremely warm and dry, peaceful as well: a desert, perhaps. The vessel that he had strapped on his back had attracted much of her curiosity but, she did not permit her thoughts to pass her lips. The young girl seated herself on the grass, her pale, skinny knees brought up against her chest. Gently patting the seat next to her, the girl requested, “Would you like to join me for a while? We could possibly enjoy this magnificent view in front of us.” Having a company was something she rarely does, however, with a view such as this and this exquisite feeling, she could not resist not sharing with the people around her. Clouds race over the cobalt sky above and she loved how fast they go, over the blazing yellow orb and the other puffs of white cushions. “Do you usually come to these kind of places?” she would begin to strike up a conversation whilst staring out into the distance, her eyes dazed, dreamy and lost in her own thoughts.

Snowflake has never been the person who talked a lot, nor displayed any of her emotions but for some reason, there was an unfamiliar sensation that was causing all of this and surprisingly enough, she seemed to be enjoying it. Mayhap, the tranquility of the town itself was compelling her to pour out her feelings, as infrequent as she does so.

"It is peaceful indeed." Chrono replied, "I wonder what citizens do to make this village so quiet." It was fascinating, to say the least. The silence was so strong, it was as if absolutely nothing surrounded the two. Surely, this village must have been well-populated, but the male could only figure every establishment in this village was soundproof. Not a single disturbance nearby could be found, nor even the suspicion of another voice. Chrono stopped locking eyes with the woman once he noticed her taking her eyes off him first, now looking at the hand he offered. A smooth hand touched his own the moment he and his new friend shook hands. "The pleasure's all mine." What a polite young lady she was.

"I will call you Snowflake." Chrono confirmed, looking at her face-to-face again. This certainly sounded like she was from the north, just as Chrono predicted, albeit it was a pretty name. Snowflake offered him to sit with her, which he did not mind at all. She appeared to admire the scenery just as much as he did, and perhaps more. "I don't mind." Chrono accepted, carefully seating himself down next to her, removing the gourd off of his back to keep to his far side. He extended his legs out to keep his robe straightened, yet also to relax in this spot to the utmost degree. The view above was not giving him any reason to move. The sky was decorated beautifully with a straight, aligned pattern of pure white clouds; large, medium and small. The biggest of these clouds hovered over the sun, allowing its rays to strike out more over the grasslands. Chrono swore he could also see a mostly faded moon in the background too. Unlike anywhere else, however, there was an absence of birds here. The amount of sound had never changed, but the lack of livelihood above amazed the wizard.

As he examined what was above him, a question arose. It regarded Chrono's frequency of traveling, or rather his tendency of visiting quieter areas. "I travel all over the country; loud and quiet." He answered, "Perhaps I'll consider seeing more of the continent as well. I'm not from this country, after all." It was funny. The man had never thought about traveling from one country to another until he claimed so here. "What about yourself?" He asked, "Have you ever seen a place like this before?" To be honest, he hadn't. The atmosphere and environment alike; he had never seen anything like it. To top it off, he was currently seated with a woman he did not imagine meeting in his place like this. It interested him, in fact, to travel up north at some point in time.

He wondered if Snowflake had anything to do up until this encounter, but based on her offer earlier, Chrono assumed she didn't. She had just met him, yet she was already welcoming him to be in this position with her, looking over wondrous views together, and other sorts of things with increasingly more interest. This village was meant for some quiet time, yet simultaneously, in an environment like this, it encouraged Chrono to talk. However, he politely awaited anything she had to say first. The two clearly wanted to learn more about each other, after all, so he would just allow things to run smoothly and slowly. He was honored to be here already, but wouldn't mention it until the time was right. The sand drew itself back into the gourd in the meantime, probably desiring to rest. Chrono didn't know what to make out of this town, but just as Snowflake said earlier, the feeling was magnificent.

    Snowflake

A traveller?, the young girl pondered, her stormy hues fixed onto her wedged heels as if it had drawn her utmost attention. Wild flowers were carpeted all around her as the duelist absently plucked out blades of grass that prodded her skin through her clothing. She straightened her long legs, only to cross over one another and balanced her body in a reclining position on her two hands. Strands of blue fell past her shoulder as silence reigned supreme within the vicinity and the two savoured the peacefulness of the town.

When Chrono mentioned that he was not from the country of Fiore, the girl looked at him as if she was expecting the words he had just stated. “Mhm. I can tell you aren’t from here.” Her gaze crossed over his features before she added, “Your presence is different from others I’ve met.” She paused for a brief moment and stared up at the azure sky. “I just moved here a while ago. I’m still unfamiliar with the ways in this country, but you could say, I’m getting used to things here.” Snowflake was surprised at how much she could talk to a person. Normally, she was a woman with very little words, barely expressed any of her feelings and her attitude was loathed by others.

Her thoughts almost wander off immediately, as memories of herself and the kingdom ‘Wintershield’ flashed before her eyes. Sadness crossed over the features of her face, the line of her lips grim and her eyes solemn. She dearly missed her country and all she ever wanted to do was to return to her kingdom and spend the snowy days of Wintershield with her master, despite how lonely she felt. Snowflake longed for the old days, the freezing cold in her hometown that could make a person numb within a few minutes. The voice of Chrono finally reached into her head, breaking her chain of thoughts as she would snap back into reality. For a brief moment, the girl spent her time recalling what he had just said.

A place like this?” She questioned. “My hometown.” she would whisper in response to his question. There was almost a hint of misery behind her voice although she seemed to be content with being reminded that Peace Village resembled her country. The weather grew a bit colder as they day draws close to an end, her skin growing tingly from the chilly wind that blows through the land. The colours of the sun was ever changing: bright purple and blue to a deep shade of orange.

Funny. Chrono was just thinking about if anything other than his words proved he was not from here. However, he doubted she was - not with hair like that. Everyone who lived in Fiore had a tendency to share one of the following hair colors: red, orange, blonde, black or brown. Yes, people could dye their eye to appear as neither of these colors, but Chrono could tell her hair was natural like this. Somehow, but for a fact. "Well, I can tell you aren't from here either." He remarked, "You have an aura to you that I have difficulty understanding." The mystery got to him numerous times, especially now that he had confessed to it. Just what kind of power did she possess? Even if her background as a person was obvious, her inner capabilities were definitely unpredictable.

"I don't think you ever can get entirely used to this country." Chrono commented, "It tends to change, and always provides something new." It was true. Even for someone who had lived as long as Chrono, never once did he have the proper amount of pride to say he had mastered the full geography of Fiore. Well, now that he was in a strangely quiet village like this, the feeling was especial. "Are you glad you're here?" He asked, "Well all have to admit; some places just don't please us." It was always okay to be homesick. One day, in fact, Chrono figured he'd have to go back home to see how times had changed it. Some places like this though appeared traditional in whatever made them famous, but wait. Another Peace Village?

"Your hometown?" He repeated. For some reason, the male had heard misery behind that answer. But, would it be okay to reveal such a thing - this split second of sadness? Probably not. Her hometown was her business, after all, not his. "My homeland is the opposite." He answered without question, "You have to get used to constant noise where I'm from." Unless she asked, Chrono would not explain why. It was due to the fighting that kept everyone awake at night in Desierto, but only due to the local divide. Most of his homeland's population hated him because he lived among the most luxurious, and furthermore resided alongside country-renowned figures; his parents. He sighed. That split second of sadness was getting to him now too. "Tell me a bit about yourself." He requested, "In return, I'll gladly discuss who I am." Once the request was made, he looked back up to the azure sky. The clouds were beginning to move further away from the sun, though all of the puffy creations remained perfectly aligned. He had never seen whiter clouds in his lifetime, nor a sun so lively. Whoever decided to build this village here was a genius if they were aware of these weather patterns at the time.
