The Ancient Ruins, a place that symbolized what once was; it held the mysteries of whatever civilization had once occupied the area. From a distance all that could be seen was a lush green; not much detail could be discerned; this was the state of decay these ruins were in. Upon a closer inspection things became very clear; the luscious green was merely nature reclaiming what civilization had taken from it; the land. This was where our protagonist, Vlad, would begin his journey.

Vlad was sort of bored by this request; it seemed like a novice simply requesting someone finish a job for them. Sure, he was simply a C-rank, but he was powerful. His usefulness has been proven on several occasions, and he was proud of himself. He knew full well what sort of things he could do, and this was going to merely expand on that. Now, slowly approaching the ruins, he was ready for whatever may happen. This could be anything, from a trap to a suicide mission. Being prepared for any situation was something that everyone should practice; it kept people alive.

Letting out a slight sigh it seemed that this would be... interesting. As he entered the area he saw a female, who looked no more than sixteen years old. She must be the one who needed help. It all makes sense now, well to an extent.

As he approached the female ran over to him, a bit distressed. "Well, how may I help you dearie?" He chuckled, bending down to make eye contact with the female; Vlad stood at five foot eleven, almost an entire foot taller than the female.

"Dearie? I do not believe we are close enough for you to call me that." She chuckled, looking around. "Is it just you? Is that enough?" She asked, a bit concerned.

"I suppose we will have to see. So, how can I help?" He asked, smiling at the female; this shouldn't take that long.

"Well..." She mumbled, holding up the metallic like object, which quickly began to glow. The females body would begin to glow along side the object, how weird. As this occurred the door to one of the buildings would burst open, a noise could be heard down the chamber.

Vlad took the lead, walking toward the building he had no fear. Perhaps its because he had already knew that there were four creatures rushing toward them, two of which were very weak. With the weak beings ahead of the two average beings, who still seemed to post no threat. Well, it was time for him to take them on. As he closed in on the entrance he would hold out his left hand, summoning forth his scythe. "Tch." He sighed as the two spiders jumped out of the entrance, attempting to attack Vlad from the sky. "How dull." He sighed, simply slashing his scythe forward, he would slay these two foul beasts. Something was odd with these creatures, as they had strange yellow lines running across their bodies. "What the hell...?" He leaned down, examining the corpse. Shit, he had gotten distracted. Quickly standing it seemed one of the other creatures had already exited the building and was heading towards the child. "Fuck." He exclaimed, now running at the dog, which had the same markings on its body. What were they? They still had souls, so they must have been some hideous experiment. Now, cutting off the dog he would begin to slash with his scythe; up, down, left, right. He was mowing down the beasts soul with this scythe as one would mow down the grass. Dropping to the ground it seemed there was one more lurking in the shadows.

Now, charging forward, it would begin its assault; Vlad was already prepared for this. "Damn animals." He had sighed, sidestepping the creature as it rocketed toward him. With this it would stop, skidding on the ground. This was when Vlad would strike. Slashing at its side the creature fell. How poor. Nothing was any different than the last beast. Now, moving to one of the dogs, he knelt down beside it. "Poor things, to be cursed to such a terrible fate." He sighed, watching the dismantled soul leave the body, quickly fading. From all the damage Vlad had caused it did not have any energy left; it could not exist outside of its host. This was the fait of those that died to the Reapers Scythe. There was no afterlife, simply death. Nothing but a corpse remained. These corpses held nothing that would interest Vlad.

"What were those things!?" The female exclaimed, though not in fear. She was merely curious as to what they could be, seeing as they did not resemble any normal creature she had seen before. This reaction is what led Vlad to the conclusion that she was a true adventurer; why else would her reaction be filled with such awe, such excitement? "Lets venture into that building!" She would begin to skip forward, only to be grabbed by Vlad.

"And where do you think you're going? Get behind me." He sighed, pulling her behind him. Now, as though he were taking a leisurely stroll, he began to approach the tunnel. The inside seemed to have been untouched by the encroaching foliage; it was an odd scene. A pure, hospital like, white corridor was all that could be seen for quite a while. While he was not able to sense any souls at the moment, that did not mean Vlad was off guard; he simply had to wait for when something to happen.

Walking down the corridor, the only noise that could be heard was the footsteps of this oddly paired party. How strange, who would have installed this sort of tunnel? That mattered not to Vlad, though it was something he couldn't help but think about. This silence was broken as he heard the footsteps of some creatures quickly approaching. He knew that there was another four creatures, though he was not exactly sure of their power. How annoying. Putting his arm out, holding the female from approaching any closer, he motioned for her to move back.

Letting out a slight sigh there were a few things that were instantly clear as he saw the souls; it seemed the weak would always approach first, this is to imply that they would always approach him in order of strength; this was good to know. The next was that there was a human soul amongst them, though it seemed distorted; something was clearly wrong with the person. Whether it be due to an illness, or more likely, due to what he has seen so far, a type of experiment. What a pitiful soul. Vlad could careless for the mans life, it was the soul that he couldn't help to look at. Perhaps he cared for souls. Perhaps he had some humanity in him. Maybe this was merely a passing sentiment, something that was an oddity? It must be because of the demented look it offered.

The damned attacked in the same fashion. Bringing his scythe up to his head he would simply slash at the soul of the damned beast. Three of these slashes were enough to end this beings life; to take it out of the cycle of reincarnation; to completely end its existence.

"Tch." The two beasts launched from the shadows, though Vlad had anticipated this. He must summon the dead, he must use a sort of... defense. With this he summoned forth one fallen warrior; it took the damage from the two beasts, and simply swung its sword; cleaving through the two creatures, killing them both. With this Vlad simply awaited the last opponent in this squadron to approach. So, he finally revealed himself.

The man that approached could barely be called that anymore; his soul offered a tainted color, he didn't have long to live. Letting out a slight sigh it appeared that it would take a bit of effort to deal with this behemoth. The man stood at six feet tall, and wore a simple lab coat. How dull, yet professional. Vlad slid under the skeleton, slashing his scythe between the mans legs; as he stopped he also slashed at the mans legs; although he would expect one attack to be reflected it did not. Seeing as how this weapon attack the soul, and was not a physical attack, it could not be reflected; the warrior also slashed his sword at the males chest.

The scientists, who had become instantly distracted by Vlad, attempted to block the blade of the scythe, but it merely went through his scalpel. As this occurred he would feel the sword slam down onto him, causing him to fall down, impaling himself with his own scalpel, hitting him next to his heart. With this, the man was near dead. Standing quickly, Vlad simply slashed at the mans chest, finishing him off. "How shrewd." He sighed, kicking the corpse over, examining it. Nothing was very different than what he saw on the beasts.

The once brilliant white corridor was now stained with a bright red. The blood of the hounds splattered across the wall and the blood of the scientists pooling on the floor. "What a mess... Though they deserve it! They attacked us first!" The female exclaimed, hopping over the corpse of the man as though it was a dead beast. How interesting.

As he thought of this his scythe faded from existence, "Damn." He sighed, looking around. "We'll walk a bit further before we take a break." He stated, letting the warrior take the lead.

Vlad let out a light sigh, as he leaned against the ground. Casting Unhollowed Ground he decided it was time to relax for a bit. This would allow for all of them in this ten meter radius to heal. This would truly help the warrior, seeing as he was badly wounded; with many of the bones cracked it simply stood as a sentry, protecting the group from anything that would wander towards them from further down the tunnel. "So, what is your name, we never introduced ourselves." He chuckled, looking over to the female. The purple boots she was wearing now had blood splattered over them; her legs had a bit of blood on them as well. As he continue to examine her he made note of the black mini skirt and the sleeveless shirt she wore. She looked like a child, but through her actions so far she seemed to be a bit more mature than she appeared. "How old are you?" He now looked her in the eye, to which she blushed and turned her head. "Uh, whats wrong? Are you okay?" He asked, unsure of why she would react that way.

"You grab the chest of a female you don't even know, and that is how you react!?" She exclaimed, very embarrassed. "You knew neither my age, nor my name! God damn pervert!" She yelled at him, though it did not echo down the tunnel. How strange, it should have echoed. Quite flustered she kept her distance from the male.

"Oi, you misunderstand!" He stated, though he did not care much for her understanding of the situation. "I was simply halting your motion, I did not want to make too much noise. It would have alerted them to the fact there was more than one of us." He sighed, scratching the back of his head; perhaps he should care a bit more for the females thoughts. She seemed to be the main attraction for the beasts; none of them seemed to be very interested in him. He was a mere interruption from their primary goal. What was causing them to be so attracted to the female? It was odd, and it made no sense. One would usually go after the support, none were present, then the damage dealers. However, they simply went after an innocent bystander.

"Oh, well... I may have overreacted." She replied, looking over to the male. "My name is Lexa Grimoire, I am eighteen years old! It is a pleasure to meet you!" She chuckled.

Vlad smiled, "The pleasure is mine dear." He looked down the hallway and was surprised they were able to enjoy this quite atmosphere. One would have thought that there would have been some sort of enemy retaliation by now, but it seems that they simply travel in groups of Four, or less. He has not seen any groups larger, as of yet. It was something that was a simple assumption, seeing as only a few minutes had passed he could not make any claims yet. Yes, this was going rather fast, just as he had predicted. "So, what shall we do? Spend another few minutes simply gathering ourself?" He asked.

"Sure." She chuckled, leaning against the wall. Was she really that tired? They hadn't done much, well she did not do much. No damage has been dealt to the two, so she should be fine. It could not have been more than twenty minutes, perhaps he was wrong. Looking around he decided to simply relax, allowing his summon to handle the defense. It could not have been more than five minutes until he had sensed something; four more souls approaching them.

While he could not tell what these souls were, he knew that there couldn't possibly be many left. Maybe on or two more squadrons would approach them after this one. It was only reasonable to assume that this place, which has been sealed for what has to be years, couldn't support much life. He may be wrong, but who would know?!

Letting out a slight sigh Vlad was able to quickly notice a few things. The first being that there was a hug swarm of enemies, around seven, heading toward him. The second was a burst of power; he could feel his body becoming more powerful, allowing for a greater manipulation of his powers; why did this happen now!? Well, it seemed that all of his training, and completion of jobs was worth it. He knew he could handle it. These enemies had nothing on him anymore; their friends served as the basis for his evolution to what he is now; they granted him this power and he would allow for them to meet their end. To stop this dumb tale. To end the lives of these unworthy insects.

"Please, do stay behind me." He chuckled, grabbing the skeleton and throwing it down the hallway. As it went flying down the hall it would, eventually, land and stand. Now, meters in front of the two others, it stood guard. With a spider jumping up at its face he swung his sword; slaying the spider in a single swipe; this, however, was the end of its life. As it swung the hounds launched themselves into the air, tearing apart the skeleton. "So weak." Vlad sighed, looking around at the area. Why was this taking him so long? Perhaps he simply had to put a bit more effort into this, go all out? Well, why do that on such a simple job... It could be a chance to relax.

Calling forth his scythe he could feel his power surge into it; it was no longer the weak thing it once was. It could slay these beast much quicker than before, more than two times quicker! It felt as though someone had given the man a line of cocaine; he was full of energy and power; he felt as though he could, single handedly, destroy this pathetic world.

This power felt as though it would allow Vlad to consume whatever he wished, to perform any feat, to do as he pleased. He felt like he has taken yet another step toward his bigger goal, toward what he was fighting for. It was simply, in all honesty, he simply wanted to change this world. To tear it down and rebuild it; this world was too corrupt, and too far gone. This power, this power would allow him the chance to further his objective. To recruit those like him. To do what must be done. No one seemed to notice the things he did, but there had to be others. It wasn't possible that he was the only one who could see the corruption before him. It was so abhorent, yet so apparent. Turning a blind eye merely allowed it to grow more powerful, more present. He despised this; he despised how others simply let their world be dominated by the tyrannical rule of others; yes, this corruption was tyrannical.

This power he felt was merely the growth of his body, of his magic; this came after having done so many jobs. This power, albeit small, came from the effort he put into what he has been doing. This power was from his rise from a D Rank mage to a C Rank mage. The combat he was in now, and all that previously completed, was enough to force his magical energy to increase, thus increasing his power. What an amazing feeling; to know that everything you have been doing has not been for naught. While he had been involved in a few situations that went awry those were merely learning experiences.

With this Vlad knew what he had to do. It was time to end it, to simply stop this whole damn thing. As the feral beings ran forward he simply flicked his wrist, depicting his willingness to kill these beings off. As they ran forward, some would launch themselves at Vlad, while others stayed on the ground. This did not matter; slashing, with full arcs, he ripped the souls of these pathetic beings in half. With this he ran forward; jumping into the wall he would kick off of it and send his knee into the face of the scientist. As the scientist fell on his ass Vlad simply slashed at the man, completely dominating this mans life. This mans soul.

Lexa was astounded by the man that stood before her. Who knew she would interact with someone such as himself; sure, she heard rumors, but those were only rumors. Right? You could not judge a person by mere rumors, although it seemed these were right on point. A ruthless man, one who cared not for age, gender, position or strength. A person who was simply evil, though who could ever say that for certain? Good, evil, righteous, these are all based on perspective. These observations were so biased it was not fair to simply label a person as good or bad. Right or wrong. These labels are what brought about justice, and other such ideas. While they are good ideals it is not plausible to expect everyone to conform to this sole idea of justice. Life was not this simple. This, however, did not detract from what this male was doing. On a mere human level this was different. He slayed his fellow man as though he was nothing more than a beast, something that could easily be tossed aside. This, while seeming cruel, seemed to be an adequate job. Could they, really, be called human? With such changes to his body, and without a doubt this had effects on his mind, it was acceptable; to slay the man simply because he was attacking them.

Each motion this man committed to had a reason, some sort of purpose behind it; this was very much apparent as he fought on, slaying everything that come before him. Not one of the enemies seemed to predict that his scythe had no material presentation; it was astral. That was the best description she could give, perhaps she should research it a bit more. Although it would take a bit, she could understand his motivations. It was now time...

"Oi, lets go." He sighed, stepping over the body of the dead scientist, not giving him a second thought. How pitiful a fate; simply left there. He wouldn't last long; he would decompose as everything else did. Nothing more, nothing less.

As the two of them ventured deeper and deeper into this fucking blank white tunnel it seemed as though it would never end, that is when the hallway drastically changed. The place slowly began to become invaded by all sorts of flora; vines, roses, violets, and an innumerable amount of other flowers; this was odd, as one could not expect for this to be growing so naturally deep in the tunnel; there should be no type of sustenance for these things, how did they last? As they area became completely consumed by this moss, and flora, a vile smell engulfed the area; being completely overwhelmed by it Vlad did not mind it. Looking over it seemed that the female was hunched over, on the verge of vomiting. "You okay?" "I'm Fine!" She exclaimed, catching up to Vlad. Well, she sure is an impressive one. He though to himself, chuckling a bit. Well, he was awfully interested in what could possibly be causing this smell. What was it? He knew what it was, but what caused it!? Such a heavy smell. The smell of a decaying corpse.

Turning the corner it became apparent; holding the female back he would not allow her to see this. Thousands of corpses lay in a pit, all bearing the same face as this female. What the fuck was going on? How the fuck did one explain this? Honestly, what the fuck? Was this a sort of test? Trap? Was this all an experiment? Ah, it was either science or magic; nature did not do this. Only the disgusting species called humans could.

Covering the females eyes he grabbed her and led her through the place; not really feeling that she deserved to see this; why should she? It would only complicate things, when it did not have to be done.

"What are you doing!?" The female began to flail her arms as she was suddenly grabbed and pulled; what the fuck was he doing!? How dare he simply pull her where ever he pleased!? Well, there was only one direction to move in, meh. She gave in.

"Well, we can do plenty of things to accelerate this..." He sighed, trudging through the corpses. Why did he do this to himself? This was meant to be a simply job, no more than ten minutes, max! What the fuck, it had to be at least twenty now... Tch, he was going to have to hurry his slow ass up, or who knows? It could take thirty minutes! God, not that! NOT THIRTY MINUTES. Now, picking up the pace, he was rushing to the finale. He didn't want to be dragged into another day of pos.... He didn't want to waste time with this. It was becoming a nuisance. How could he allow such a formality to block his path? To stop his ascension to what they all knew he would become. More importantly, to what he wanted to become.

Letting out a slight sigh he, and the female behind him, entered what seemed to be the main room. With this they would walk forward, causing the lights to flash on; having been blinded for a moment it seemed they could see dozens of tanks, all of them were empty sans one. One had yet another Lexa in it, how annoying. Well, time to do as he pleased. Taking another step forward the tank would become empty, now with the female standing in front of Vlad, and walking past him, to the other Lexa.

"Well, it seems there was another survivor? Have you passed the physical examinations as well? You seem healthy, though your mental state is fluctuating quite a bit. What is wrong? Has something been tampered with? Oh, wait... What is this? Oh, you're ONEE-CHAN! Papa wanted to see you... but wait... Papa changed his mind, why would he do that? Either way, I do wish to know a bit more about you! How are you? What caused papa to make this decision? Were you a failure as our sisters were?"

"Sisters? Failures?" She asked, unaware of the situation. "What are you speaking of? Explain it to me, now!" She demanded, her voice quivering. She couldn't handle the intense mental pressure this was putting on her, she seemed to be slowly breaking. How could this be happening to her? She was only eighteen and had barely done anything so far. She couldn't be a part of this, no. She refused it! "NO NO NO!" She yelled, teleporting ten meters back.

"Who are you!? Why do you have my face!? Monster! You must be some type of monster!" She yelled, her mental health deteriorating. The deterioration of her mental state caused her to become hyaterical; the fact that there was more than one of herself was something she couldn't comprehend. Sure, in another universe, there would be another one of her, but here? Right in front of her? Ridiculous. This had to be straight out of a science fiction book. To her knowledge there was no plausible explanation.

"Big sis, why are you acting this way? You should relax a bit, sit down. I'm sure papa will reconsider! He does love you after all. The female skipped over to Lexa, a smile on her face. It was as though there was a reflection, albeit demented. On one side you have a frightened little girl, but on the reverse you have a very cheerful, and ecstatic one. This clash of emotions was interesting, especially when they were identical. As the clone approached Lexa Vlad would grab her by the arm. "Perhaps you should settle down a little, she is a bit frightened." He chuckled, finding this amusing. Yes, he was enjoying this little show that was being performed. Who wouldn't?

The girl would quickly yank her arm out of his grasp, a bewildered look on her face. "And who are you?" She asked, a hostile tone, completely out of character for the face. "Did you corrupt sister? Are you the reason she must be decommissioned? How dare you do such a thing, for this you will pay." She was now very angry, but she wasn't really doing much. With her hands balled she would simply begin to hit the man on the chest.

What the fuck was this girl tripping on? How was she acting like this was normal? Vlad thought to himself. It made no sense to him; she should have been more aggressive. Something. She could not have survived by merely being stuck in the tank, and by being this adorable. It made no sense to him. It mattered not that it made no sense to him, the real problem was the fact that she escaped his grip. It was something that seemed to be implausible. For a woman, who looks like a fourteen years old prepubescent girl, to do so. That was odd. It was not as though Vlad was a weak man either; he was able to perform almost any physical feat, and was proud of the toned body he had. He knew he was in shape, and pretty strong; both physically and magically. So, how did she escape his grasp? The only explanations, which actually made sense as well, was a type of darkness manipulation; he never felt his hand open, just saw her hand freed from his grip. This was what gave it away. Slipping through his fingers with magic made much more sense than breaking through his grip. Well, with this he knew what the female was capable of, at least to an extent.

Backing away from the female he didn't have much room to move around; he didn't want to fight if he didn't have to, that was so much work. Putting in the physical effort to parry, Dodge, attack and kill a small child. While, it seemed like something he wouldn't have any qualm with doing today he was lazy. He couldn't be bothered to do it.

The room could be best described as a sterile setting; the walls, ceiling and floor were all a brilliant white. This was unusual as the entrance had vegetation all over it. The only explanation was that there was a hole leading to the outdoors, allowing it to creep down and begin it's hostile takeover. While it was true that the corpses of the dead clones, as he assumed they were. Allowed for a fertile place to claim, it wasn't the best. Aside from this the room simply had a plethora of technology; all these displays that would depict a plethora of data, all in regards to multiple specimen. It was astounding how something like this could be under the ruins of some old civilization. Of how not a single soul had found this place; of how he was the one forced to deal with this mess.

It was at this point that it became apparent to Vladimir. He would have to simply fight, and defeat the female. Well, while he didn't mind having to do so it was going to be annoying. Just as Vlad was preparing to finish the altercation Lexa let out a screech, clearly having her psyche broken.

"Just who the fuck do you think you are!? You call me sister, but I have never seen you! For fucks sake I haven't haven't heard of you. You are nothing but an abhorrent creation by some lonely old man who had a thing for children. God, I know my figure is like that of a fucking child, and it attracts creeps, but this!? Really!? How dare he? That fucking pervert you call papa. Really? Hun, get your priorities straight. What do you want to do? Who are you? I am Lexa, you are merely a look alike. Do not go around claiming to be my kin when this was our first, and last, interaction. Do you know how pretentious it makes you seem? How fake? Try to develop a personality, and then try and approach me. Calling me sister, as though you've known me your whole life. You've been in a God damn incubator your entire life. What could you possibly know!?" She took a moment to catch her breath. It seemed she had more to say. At this brief intermission the clone and Vlad looked at eachother, nodding they sat down on a nearby bench.

"Think this rant will end anytime soon?" Vlad asked the female, scratching the back of his head. He had things to do, people to meet and villages to pillage. Why did this girl have a mental break down today? Why not on the weekend?

"Perhaps, I cannot detect any sign of a finalization of this monologue. Let's just wait it out." She sighed, stretching out. It seemed they would allow this to continue for as long as it needed to, she needed to vent. She did just go through an event which would scar most people for life. Well, she didn't have that long. In fact, she only had a little while left. Who knows, maybe it would kill some time. Force the end of this little altercation, let Vlad move on from this little mishap.

Now, continuing her rant, she would begin again. "I think that if you people all took a moment and realized what was occurring here you would agree it was strange. How can you, Vlad, act as though it was normal? As though this was any other day for you? Does this occur often?! Well, does it!?"

    "No..."

"THAT IS WHAT I THOUGHT. How come you are so calm? React a bit, show some emotions, show something. Don't make it seem like I am the strange one for reacting as I am! Like... this is a normal reaction, for anyone! Not just some eighteen year old female! Who would ever expect something like this!?! It was at this point that it became apparent to Vladimir. Like... this is a normal reaction, for anyone! Not just some eighteen year old female! Who would ever expect something like this!?! Definitely not a normal human, mage, anything. No one in fire except that fucking pervert you call papa. Now, I am calm and collected. Vlad, let's finish this." She demanded, looking at the two.

Looking at his watch he realized the time. "God, you're right. We should have finished this long ago. I seemed to have had no muse. Well, it's fine." He laughed, standing as he did so. It was an easy thing to do... it was easy to kill. Why should he hesitate? He wouldn't. He did not. He figured it was about time to end it with his signature move. This move would completely annihilate the opponent, and leave them helpless... he called it... "GOT EM."

As he stood the hands of the Fallen would erupt from the ground; although they were decaying, and boney, their grip was unusually strong. Grabbing the fenale, and pinning her down, she would try to escape, but would still be stuck. "Wanna have some fun?" He chuckled, having his scythe form in his hand. With this he would begin to slash the female, though she didn't realize it. She was near death, already almost gone. How dull. It seemed she wasn't going to offer him much enjoyment. He didn't even bother using any other magics. Slashing forward he would attempt to finish her. However, as he did so she would disappear. "It isn't over." Is all that he would heae, echo through the desolate place.

As he looked back to Lexa he would begin to walk. "Let's go." He would let out a slight sigh as they continued to walk back down the same path that they had taken to arrive here. He didn't cover her eyes this time, she would realize what was going on. As they walked through it she seemed unaffected, that was good and bad. No emotions to deal with, but she would probably hold onto this scar for life. Who knows, perhaps she would get over it. Either way he didn't care. She was not someone he truly cared for, and as such, he didn't hold a grudge against anyone. He simply completed the job he was tasked with. He was as emotionless as ever.

Exiting the tunnel he would look at the female. "Happy? We finished it up rather easily, didn't we?" He chuckled, patting her shoulder. "I did enjoy the little adventure, and I do that my you for allowing me to help you in this endeavour. Please, do call if you need any help. I doubt you will, seeing as who I am. Well, I do suppose that wraps this up." He chuckled, turning away. As he did he would feel something hit his back. Turning around he would see some light armor on the ground. "Payment. Thanks a bunch." She sighed, walking away. She couldn't handle anymore of this Bullshit.
