The brilliant light of the Sun reflected off of Lynn's armor, scintillating light blinding anyone who dared to look. Standing tall on the edge of the Serene Cliff, the Ice Dragon Slayer waited for someone. A mental clock in her head ticking away the seconds as she stood patiently. Zlatan was not accompanying her today as she was not taking a job, or doing anything that might require his assistance. She was here today to help someone rank up, an ex-guildmate, Mashyuu of Sabertooth. He claimed her as his ‘rival’, but Lynn did not know what it meant to be a ‘rival’. She accepted him as her ‘rival’, but to this day, she did not know what he actually meant to be as a ‘rival’.

In a while, Mashyuu would arrive, and the examination would begin. Before that, Lynn prepared herself mentally how she was going to find out if he fit the rank he is looking to obtain. A gentle wind blew on top of the cliffs, fondling the sorceress’s curvy figure and carrying her pink tresses to her back. She loved the feeling of being on the cliffs. It was so peaceful; so serene.

The sun's rise crept through Mashyuu's room in the Sabertooth guild hall and he shot up straight and looked about frantically. Mashyuu let his blue eyes fall on Rocky, at the foot of his bed, sleeping soundly. The Earth Wizard jumped out of his bed, dressed in only a light pair of black silk boxers and a single red sock. He landed at the bedroom door and kicked off his sock then left his room and darted down the hall to a shower room.

He took only ten minutes to shower and brush his teeth, then darted out of the shower and used his wet feet to slide down the hall and to his bedroom door. "Rocky, get up. We gotta get going come on!" He shouted while jumping into his room and sliding over to his small dresser. Without question he pulled on a pair of grey cargo pants, looped a brown belt into the pants to keep them up and then tossed on a red shirt with no sleeves. A moment later he threw his mothers one sleeved jacket on and followed that up with his red socks and his black armored boots. Next was his red and black Dragon gloves and the solid gold ring that contained the spirit of his teacher Ux.

Rocky barked happily and the pair headed to the top of the Sabertooth Guild hall. Rocky propped itself up on it's hind legs while Mashyuu took aim at the place he was to meet Lynn at. The pair hadn't seen each other since she left Sabertooth but he was sure that he could convince her to come back. It was to much for him to see more of his family leaving the guild and with so many of them already not at the hall, the Paragon of Protection felt more sorrow than ever. Rocky grabbed Mashyuu's shoulders and jumped from the top of the building.

The pair fell for what seemed like forever until they felt that they could no longer gain speed from simply falling. Rocky's wings spread wide and caught wind, lifting the pair up and high into the sky, and heading for Lynn... About an hour went by when Mashyuu landed behind Lynn and his eyes narrowed in confusion. She sure as hell smelled the same but again she looked different. Mashyuu whistled low at Lynn and spoke in a jovial but smooth voice. "Damn Lynn, you look better every time I see you. Almost makes me wish I wasn't with Kanix, unless yeah know.... You and her would like to share?" He joked a little but was also sort of serious. Rocky barked happily and ran up to Lynn's leg, nuzzling his head against her.

Mashyuu arrived in no more than ten minutes. Lynn stood as though she was meditating, but while standing. Her eyes were shut, so her ears and nose were perked up for any sound in the surrounding. The vivid scent of her former guildmate entered her nose, causing her lips to curl up into a smile. It seemed that the Earth Dragon Slayer had brought his companion with him this time as well, since the little creature came straight for Lynn’s leg, hugging it tightly. This action made her open her eyes and laugh, sky blue optics wide with surprise at the friendly gesture. “Hello there,” she told the little guy, then turned completely to face Mashyuu.

It looks like you haven’t changed a bit, on the other hand,” she said in response to his statement, leaving the part about Kanix and her sharing, because the answer was of course ‘no’. To be honest, she had no clue who Kanix was, but listening between his words, she could guess it was either his girlfriend or wife. “Good to know that you have someone to care about now. I’m a single lady. No one has succeeded in capturing my heart, yet,” she told him with a wink. Returning to a more serious note, the ex-Saber cleared her throat, turning so that Mashyuu would be facing her side. “So shall begin your examination?

    [quote="Mashyuu"]

Rocky looked up and started to bark happily at Lynn then ran around her and sat between Mashyuu and Lynn's legs. His small head darted side to side and his ears perked up to the sound of birds flying high above head. Mashyuu frowned at her for a moment but responded with a shrug of his shoulders and ran his gloved hand through his hair, sending it up into a perfect spiked style. "Yeah well, that's because we haven't spent enough time together yet. You'll see." Mashyuu joked and started to walk around the beauty.

He thought for a moment and looked at his surroundings. What on earth could his exam be if it was isolated like this and there wasn't anyone to or anything to hit? "You aren't about to ask me to go find something brown are you?" He asked while gesturing out around them to the various cliffs of earthen brown surrounding the pair. His ring mulled over the ideas it had but kept them to himself, not wanting to worry the Earth Wizard who understood combat and the need to keep others safe above almost everything else in the world. Mashyuu stopped as Lynn turned to look at him and he smiled wide. "Yeah, today is currently the most important day of my life. It's time to go to the next level." Mashyuu added and he smirked, he had been planning and developing some spells for a long while now and he was sure he had his next line up figured out.

A hot breeze rushed through the range of cliffs, wind whistling as it wrapped around stone walls. Mashyuu wrapped his one sleeved jacket around his shoulder and zipped it up to keep the hot and cold air from effecting him. He sniffed the dry sky smirked, all he could smell was himself and Lynn, Rocky's scent had become second nature to the Earth Wizard and he rarely noticed it anymore.

At this point the sun was starting to come high over head, clouds above parted and rays of light hit the Wizards. Mashyuu flashed a toothy grin and looked over at the beauty in armor across from him The last time the pair had met she wasn't wearing armor nor did she carry a weapon, then again she didn't even cast a spell. "So while you figure out what my test is, did you ever start using magic? And what's with that form fitting armor?" He asked and pressed his back to a cliff face near by.

Growing bored with sitting still Rocky spread his wings and took off high into the air, making large figure eights in the sky, he howled happily then came back down, resting on Mashyuu's large shoulder like it was a small Dragon. It's tongue lapped over Mashyuu's face and made the Earth Wizard chuckle while he picked the creature up and placed it on the ground at his feet. "Alright enough joking around, lets get this thing started."

    RULES
    (there are two now!)

    - Defeat all monsters.
    - You must finish them in 1500 words minimum.

Lynn laughed at what he was saying even though it wasn’t the purpose of him being here. She folded her arms as she answered his question about her magic. “Well, I’ve always known Ice Dragon Slayer magic. It’s just that I never used it because I didn’t need to,” said the armored sorceress with a smile. She would actually demonstrate a spell if she had the time but she was not here to do that; she was here to test Mashyuu if he qualified for the rank he was looking to achieve. “As for this armor, it’s not really special or anything. I actually got it made recently.” Then she would turn back to face him and give him a confused smile. “Something brown? No...that’s nothing like what I had in mind,” she said, walking over to the edge of the cliff and glancing down. There was a layer of clouds that covered what was underneath the cliff, so she couldn’t see. Lynn turned around so she was giving her back to the edge of the cliff and was looking directly at Mashyuu now.

You are here to prove that you are worthy of the rank above. What makes you think that? Are you strong enough to call yourself an A-ranker?” she stopped so he knew she was expected answers from him for every question she was asking now. Once he answered, she would keep asking, and wait for an answer, and then keep asking, her voice growing louder every moment. “Are you strong enough to protect your guild, Sabertooth?

Can you assist them in their times of despair? If you are sure about this, then you must show it,” Lynn stated firmly.

Try to save me,” she said and let herself wall into the unseen abyss. The pink haired wizard would fall into a pit of monsters that dealt a great amount of damage. Instead of remaining amidst the beasts, she would dash away from the pit, taking her place on higher ground as she would watch Mashyuu from there through a veil that would hide her from him. She was still too far away for him to reach since he would have to pass through the monsters and they weren’t going to go easy and let another person escape their pit.

    Pit of Monsters:

Mashyuu's A-rank Exam [Private] Empty Re: Mashyuu's A-rank Exam [Private]

Post by redheadedstepchild 20th July 2016, 8:10 pm

Mashyuu wasn't sure how much he believed that Lynn had always been able to cast magic since he had always seen others use magic, then again maybe she really was just that good. There had been a few times where Mashyuu hadn't needed to cast any magic to defeat his foes in the past. "Well the armor fits you nicely." Mashyuu responded honestly while looking her over once last time. As Lynn started to ask if Mashyuu was ready to move on to the next stage of his ranking he started to laugh at her. Of course he was. He nodded up and down while growling low.

"The hell kind of question is that? Yes I'm strong enough... Wait. What?" His voice trailed off when Lynn suddenly jumped down. Without thinking Mashyuu was right behind her. She broke the cloud line and vanished. By the time Mashyuu broke the clouds he was amazed to see that she was gone. Rocky suddenly grabbed Mashyuu by the shoulder and landed him down on the ground in a soft and simple landing among a massive amount of monsters that Mashyuu had never seen before.

Ten massive monsters stood around Mashyuu and glared at the Slayer and his pet. Mashyuu swallowed a lump of dry air and smiled wide. "Ya know Rocky... I can't smell Lynn anymore. I get the feeling this was all a trick just to see if I can handle these things." He joked and smashed his foot into the ground. "Armor of Stone!" His voice rang out and from under him, slabs of rock launched out of the ground and clasped around the Slayer, leaving him wrapped in intricate stone armor that left only his head exposed.

With his armor on his ring pulsed and let out it's invisible field, giving Mashyuu and extra edge against anything getting close to him. All the monsters attacked, seemingly swarming the Slayer but he didn't bother to dodge. Instead he brought his hands up and let the ground around him erupt and swallow the Earth Slayer, dragging him under ground while a stone shell of his body was left in his place. A moment later he exploded out of the ground behind the monsters and pulled his right arm back. It sparked with Electricity, His blue eyes darted around to try and find Rocky, who had already launched himself high into the sky with a cork screw effect.

Once he was sure the stone Golem was out of the way Mashyuu pushed his right hand out like he was pushing against a wave of water and called out. "THUNDER FLASH!" A bolt of solid, golden electricity rushed out and ran through three of the monsters, those would be the ones Mashyuu focused on first. The Wizard landed on the ground firmly and dug his legs deep into the earthen floor. The Beasts started to turn to face Mashyuu but were to slow. The Slayer rocked forward, his armor plated legs carrying him in a blur while he reached low and dragged his right palm across the ground. "Earth Dragons War Hammer." He whispered to himself and yanked up a stone war hammer. Swiftly he whipped it around and let the weapon cut air.

The beasts twisted and each fired a line of some sort of acidic spit at the Slayer. Mashyuu managed to duck, dodge and roll away from nine of the blasts, the tenth, slammed into his shoulder, burning a large chunk of his armor away. "Eh that looks fun." He muttered. Why did all of these beasts seem to have acid lately? He didn't pay it much attention as he drew close to the monsters and let his war hammer go. It twisted in the air and Mashyuu grabbed it again, the head of the hammer facing down until he swung it up in an upper cutting motion, cracking the jaw of a beast hard, and causing it to fly through the air and slam into the face of a cliff before it slid down the wall and scrambled to it's feet.

There was a moment of silence as the other monsters all watched the way their friend soared through the air at Mashyuu's massive strike. Lazily he hefted his hammer over his right shoulder and took up a relaxed stance, however his senses were sharp as ever, ears listening to the sound of Rocky spinning around over head and waiting for the right time to strike. His eyes bounced about and his nose took in each scent, waiting for something to move. The beasts were about to move when the beast that crashed into the ground yelled and raced through the pack, forcing them to split and allow Mashyuu and the grey beast with a single horn and yellow eyes to clash.

It's massive forearm lashed out at the Wizard, he ducked low, dodging the slash, even if just barely while he dropped his hammer down hard on the beasts, foot, the effect of the hammer slowing the monsters movements with every strike. Again the beast howled in annoyed pain. It brought both arms up and slammed them low, trying to shake the Slayer around and knock him over but to no avail. "OH it looks like I'm just as good as you are." Mashyuu mused to the beast, unsure if it could actually understand him. The confused Rhino like monster growled in anger and pulled a fist back but found Mashyuu's hammer slamming into it's elbow, cracking bone while it fell to a knee, weighted down so much that it could no longer move. Mashyuu lifted his hammer one last time and smashed it hard into the beast's jaw and shattered it's face, dropping it dead.

The other Nine monsters looked on, shocked from the swift and decisive fight. The Earth Wizard grinned wide and stepped over the beast, drawing closer to the other monsters. The beasts took a shift back and Mashyuu started to laugh dramatically. He could hear the faint whistle of something dropping through the air at what a human would call terminal velocity. Suddenly the clouds parted as Rocky came soaring down and spikes jutted out of Rocky's body. The Stone Dog slammed into the head of a Monster, killing it on the spot and dropping the monster in a single blow.

The other eight Monsters looked on in shocked horror as Rocky flew up out of the dead creatures head and spread it's wings wide. Before they could strike Mashyuu willed up the ground around one of the Monsters to rise up and swallow it hole. The ground swallowed the beast, crushing it's bones while it's partners backed away in confusion. Mashyuu jumped between them while dropping his hammer at his feet and spreading his arms wide. "Hail of Stone!" His voice echoed out and caused the ground all around him to shatter and launch rocks up high. They whirled about and slammed into the Monsters, keeping them at bay, even sending their acidic vomit back into them. Mashyuu grinned wide while inhaling deeply. Rocky flew next to Mashyuu and launched a stream of stones into the Wizards mouth. He swallowed the stones and jumped backwards, away from the beasts and took aim. "Unison Raid: Earth Dragons Roar!" He exclaimed and launched the stones in a massive blanket of magic into the beasts who were being pelted by Mashyuu's Hail of Stone.

The roar blew the monsters to the ground, killing them on impact while Mashyuu ran his hand over his mouth and fell to his knees and hands. His mouth opened up wide and he started to chomp down on the earth below him, doing his best to restore some of his lost magical power. If not for the fact that he used two of his signature spells he was sure he would have lost more magical power than he needed to. Luckily the display he and Rocky put on early in the fight stunned the others long enough for Mashyuu to make quick work of the rest.

The Earth Wizard swallowed the bite of rock he had in his mouth and stood up. "LYNN! COME OUT! I BEAT THEM ALREADY!" Mashyuu shouted while spreading his arms wide and spinning about to make sure that she could see he was fine, even though his stone armor had fallen apart at his feet. He paused for a moment and took a deep breath of air through his nose, he couldn't smell her. Maybe something really did happen to her, was she in real danger? Mashyuu snapped his fingers and Rocky picked him up, flying up to try and break the line of clouds and make sure Lynn was safe. His heart raced, panic rushed through the Earthen Wizard, what if she was truly in danger? He wanted her to join Sabertooth again but if she was dead Mashyuu wouldn't ever get the chance to ask for her to fight him, or to surpass her in skill. That wasn't something Mashyuu was willing to accept. As the pair reached the clouds Mashyuu shouted her name once more, listening carefully for her voice.

Lips curling into a satisfied smile, Lynn removed the veil, letting him receive her scent and come to her, even though she spread her wings of ice and slowly floated towards his current location. He had single-handedly defeated all the monsters in the pit. That meant he was strong enough. And from what she had observed, he had the spirit of a Saber. His loyalty was unmeasurable and that was enough for Lynn. She knew it was a waste of time throwing more monsters at him, so she approached him with a smile.

You have proven that you are strong enough, and by observation, I know that you are a very loyal Saber. The guild is lucky to have someone like you. Now go along and help anyone you see in any town of your choice. You have passed,” she said before taking off back to her humble abode.

Mashyuu's A-rank Exam [Private] Empty Re: Mashyuu's A-rank Exam [Private]

Post by redheadedstepchild 23rd July 2016, 7:48 pm

As Mashyuu soared about the sky the wind suddenly brought Lynn's scent over to Mashyuu's nostrils, causing them to flare up hard and take in her pleasant scent. Blue eyes darted around until he caught the sight of Lynn soaring at him with wings of pale blue Ice. His jaw dropped, trying to to recall how many women he had seen as beautiful as her? Maybe two? He drew a deep breath and grinned at her. Just before he could start to speak Lynn beat him to it. "You really didn't think I was worthy of being a Saber? Lynn that hurts.. I really thought you had been kidnapped or something." Mashyuu responded then went silent while Lynn turned and flew away. The Earth Wizard furrowed his brows in confusion and his jaw shuddered. "What? I passed already?" He asked to nobody in particular. Rocky whimpered while holding Mashyuu and the Earthen Wizard hung his head low. He had expected to talk to Lynn more, even thought there was more to the test. She had asked him to help some people in Fiore but sort of made it seem like she didn't really care one way or the other. The brown haired man turned red with frustration and pointed down at a rock face near by.

Mashyuu found himself sitting on a flat stone slab his hair had fallen down over his head to match his depressed mental state. What was he supposed to do to help others? His entire life was based around helping people but it usually came when someone asked him, not going out of his way to help others. He dropped his head down low and rested it on his knees, groaning with frustration at the idea of trying to find someone to help who maybe didn't really want it. Gently he reached down and pet behind Rocky's ear. "I don't get it... Do you think that Lynn decided that Sabertooth wasn't worth it? Maybe something's going on with her and she needs time away?" Mashyuu reasoned with himself. Slowly Mashyuu shook his head and threw his legs over the cliff, springing up and stalking towards the edge of the cliff he was standing on. His eyes narrowed in annoyance while Rocky walked up to him and spread it's wings. Off in the distance Mashyuu could see Ace of Spades. The Dragon attack wasn't long ago and Mashyuu was already figuring that if anyone would be willing to simply accept his help it would be the people of the Ace of Spades.

Rocky seemed to understand what was happening and grasped the Slayer by the shoulders, hoisting him up and drifting off towards the city in the distance. The sun hadn't even hit it's high point in the sky yet as Mashyuu and Rocky touched down at the rebuilt front gate of the Ace of Spades. "I suppose that not everyone wants to stay in Sabertooth forever. It just seems like more members are leaving than joining and when that cult comes for me.... I won't have anyone to count on at this rate." Mashyuu muttered to himself while he stepped past the front gates.

A man standing guard, wearing a set of soft leather armor and holding a spear took a step forward to stop Mashyuu until he recognized the Paragon of Defense and returned to his guard post. Mashyuu smiled warmly at the man and strolled through the large town that was home to the Sabertooth Guild hall high in the sky. It was a wonder that the guild had still remained floating in the sky after the magma Dragon attacked and nearly destroyed the town. Many men and women lost their homes and there wasn't a lot most of the Sabertooth guild members could do to help the citizens out. What Mashyuu could do however was make shelters of stone for the men and women who were without a home. It didn't take much to make a place with four walls and a roof for the Wizard who had been making fists and spinning pillars for fights but he had gone for a week straight without stopping before he started to go on jobs again. It looked like the town was still struggling however. While children were playing in the streets most people where picking themselves up and trying to figure out how to go on about their lives. To think that these men and women could be in more danger when and if the Earth Wizard was attacked by the Cult of Genso. It was possible that the other Sabertooth Wizards wouldn't be around, or they wouldn't be able to take the group down. Even worse they could actually kill Mashyuu and raise the Demon of Elemental Torment.

Absently Mashyuu watched as a mother struggled with her children, trying to keep two boys from climbing over a downed homes roof. Mashyuu swiftly rushed to the mothers side and grabbed the boys by the shoulder of their shirts and hoisted them off the slopped and downed building. He set them on their feet next to their tired mother and looked each boy in the eye while dropping down to their eye level. "Your Mother is working hard to make sure you two have a place to sleep and feel safe today. Everyone lost something, when I was your age I was alone and wished every day for someone to help me. Do me a favor and work with you mother. Do what she says and be good." Mashyuu lectured the boys in a kind tone. For a moment he could tell the boys didn't really care but they ended up looking at each and then to Mashyuu nodding up and down, seemingly understand what was happening. Looking at the rubble of their home Mashyuu focused hard and waved his hand from left to right. The caved in roof shifted and rose up, standing proud and almost completely new looking. It was a skill he had been working on for a while and while he couldn't make it do everything he wanted to do, something simple like making a roof stay up was easy enough. "It's not going to fix the inside but you have a roof over your head now. Stay safe and take care of each other." Mashyuu said while walking off to whoever needed help next.

The air was fresh here, even after the smell of fire and death filled it for a time, life went on and a strange sort of pleasant calm spread of Ace of Spades, not the kind one would expect when dealing with the aftermath of a dragon attack, but one of togetherness. Men and women all were banding together to help those around them. This was something Mashyuu hadn't seen... ever. After the death of his mother he felt like companionship like this didn't happen. His mother always said his father was dead, and after his mothers passing the world became a dark place, so he faked smiles everywhere he went just to keep others at arms length. Now it was starting to feel like there was real hope in the world, like what he did could make a real difference and he wanted to make sure his daughter would truly have a good place to call home. Mashyuu wouldn't let her grow up not knowing her father or mother. He would be sure that both he and the now wanted criminal Kanix would survive as long as possible.

"Excuse me! Mashyuu?" An old man called out to get Mashyuu's attention. The Earth Wizard stopped in his tracks, Rocky still at his side, slowly Mashyuu twisted on his heels and looked at an old man in rags of clothes who carried a strange orb of magical power. Slowly he presented the silvery grey item to Mashyuu and cleared his throat. "A man, who looked much like you do, told me to seek you out and give this to you. You are to eat it then at your earliest chance seek out a dragon in a different realm of time." The elder man explained, then as swiftly as he came, left and faded into the crowds of people at the Ace of Spades. Mashyuu's brow furrowed in confusion while he looked first at the old man leaving, then to the orb in his palm. It was smaller than his hand but had great magical power radiating off of it. Mashyuu considered this for a long while and put it to his nose, sniffing it carefully then licked it. He pulled his head back while making a strange, almost sick face. "Rocky, this tastes terrible! Like iron." He proclaimed. It was at the moment he licked it however that he felt the inner demons inside him, his shadow summons, go silent. The sudden silence in Mashyuu's soul moved him in a way he had never been moved before and he drew a sharp breath of air, mostly to see if he could hear the demons. Then he placed the orb to his mouth and opened wide. Anything that could keep his inner demons at bay couldn't truly be a bad thing. His mouth unhinged to allow the orb to slide down his throat and hit his body hard. He could sense a new magic coursing through him but he wasn't sure what it was yet. Apparently he would know when me met this new Dragon...

With the orb consumed Mashyuu went back to his task at hand, helping others. The young man stalked through the town as happily as he could, offering smiles to those who passed him by and doing what he could wherever he was needed, be it moving bricks or helping to raise a building. Along the way he thought about who had asked the old man to find Mashyuu and how the man looked like Mashyuu exactly. In the end it didn't matter at the moment. At last Mashyuu found someone who really seemed to need his help.

On a small farm Mashyuu saw an old man carrying or rather dragging a large box, longer than a human and roughly the same width. Mashyuu walked up to the man and lifted the back end of the box to take some weight off of the man. "Where is it going sir?" Mashyuu asked and the man, with tears of pain in his eyes nodded to a hole in the ground six feet deep, around the corner of his home. Mashyuu's heart sank. The old man was burying his child... Mashyuu walked with the man and set the box down. "Sir, go inside and I'll bury him. You shouldn't have to bury your child." Mashyuu offered and the man smiled with a sense of thanks to his face. The moment the door shut, the Earth Wizard waved his hand and summoned a thick cloud of dirt. He waved it again and forced the dirt to fall into the hole, filling it tightly. "I'll make sure your father is well taken care of. Never will he be alone in the world." Mashyuu promised the fallen son. While he still wasn't sold on the afterlife Mashyuu could still make a promise to help someone in need. Rocky whined lightly at Mashyuu and nudged the Wizard with it's head then looked back to the farm house that the man had walked into. On the opposite side of his home was a large patch of land, crops had been destroyed by the Dragon Attack but Mashyuu could do something to help. A soft smile creased the Earth Wizard's lips as he shrugged off his jacket and placed it on the rail of the man's steps leading to his door. His gloves and ring came off next and were shoved into his pockets. It had been some time since Mashyuu got his hands dirty like this but he learned at an early age just how to farm correctly and not screw something up and with his earth magic stronger than ever it wouldn't be hard to make sure the ground was perfect for farming.

Mashyuu's A-rank Exam [Private] Empty Re: Mashyuu's A-rank Exam [Private]

Mashyuu stalked to the back of the farmland to a small barn and pulled the wooden doors open, dust shot out of the barn and hit Mashyuu in the face causing him to sneeze. It must have been the old man's son that had been doing the farm work. Mashyuu sniffed the dry air of the barn and swallowed a lump of snot. Slowly he stalked over towards a large dirt tiller that was clearly made for a horse. Mashyuu grabbed it with both his hands and hoisted it hard, lifting the large wood and metal tool into the air and carried it out to the farm land. He moved it to rest at the edge of the cropping area. The brown haired Wizard moved over the crops and grabbed a nut in a shell from each plant. Once they were all collected he placed the nuts in Rocky's stone paws. "Alright buddy, just follow behind me and drop one of those in the ground every few feet okay?" Rocky grinned at the Wizard and nodded up and down, understanding what Mashyuu had explained. Mashyuu dug his feet down into the ground hard and pushed the dirt tiller, the tool rumbled and quaked for a moment then shoved through the soil of the farm land. Mashyuu twisted and worked for nearly two hours, loving the feeling of getting his hands dirty and building up a good sweat as he worked the ground under him to plant the seeds that the farmer needed to survive. Once a week Mashyuu would come back just to make sure everything was going well for the man, maybe even deliver some supplies and jewels for the man to live off of. Mashyuu rested on the man's front steps after setting the dirt tiller back into the shed and closing the doors. His blue eyes darted about, scanning the area and the biggest issue at the moment in the Ace of Spades suddenly hit him in the face like a brick. There were tons of homeless and hungry people in the town until things could be rebuilt. Swiftly Mashyuu stood up and threw his jacket on then his gloves and ring. "Rocky, we gotta get to the lake, lets go!" He declared and in response the stone dog grabbed Mashyuu up by the shoulders and took off high into the sky, leaving Ace of Spades behind for now. After an hour Mashyuu and Rocky touched down at a near by lake, the water smelled fresh as small ripples ran out from the center of the water, alerting Mashyuu to life in the water. Slowly the Wizard cracked his neck and took a few steps back, away from the lake then he sprinted forward and dove deep into the water, clothes still on. Happily, Rocky barked and ran around where Mashyu had jumped into the water and watched, not wanting to get wet if the dog didn't have to do so. The small stone dog growled for a bit then sat still, watching the water confused while Mashyuu continued to not rise from the depths of the greenish blue water. A soft whimper came from the animal as it considered weather or not Mashyuu was going to rise up out of the water or if he was playing a prank. Mashyuu didn't tell Rocky why they needed to go to the lake but he figured his friend knew what he was doing.

As Mashyuu's body hit the water, swimming deep down, he scanned the water after getting about half way down for anything worth eating. He squinted and used his sharp eyes to search the lake. Suddenly his eyes caught something moving below him. He glanced down below in time to see a large tendril launch up and wrap around his ankle, dragging the slayer deeper under water and taking a large chunk of his hair out of his lungs. He tensed his legs and grabbed at the tendril, trying to rip the tendril off his boot before it was to late. In the water Mashyuu couldn't really get any real strength behind his arms, whatever was dragging him had grown so strong that it could easily overpower him. The Wizard gave up and was about to try to teleport when he spotted something massive. Large deadly eyes glared up at him from the bottom of the lake. A massive octopus had grasped him and counted Mashyuu among the food that the creature would eat today. As fast as he could Mashyuu pulled his right arm back and let it crackle with power. He threw his hand forward and let a blast of golden electricity strike into the Octopus, killing it on impact and locking Mashyuu's body up in the process. The electricity surged through the Slayer and made him shudder with pain. A few seconds went by before Mashyuu opened his eyes and noticed the octopus floating towards him. He twisted in the water and braced himself as the octopus pressed into his legs and pushed the Earth Wizard up and out of the lake. With a loud splash Mashyuu came out of the water and gasped for air, his brow hair matted to his face and his clothes clung tight to his body. In his right and left hands were a suction cupped tendril each. The Earth Wizard used all of his strength and started to swim, pulling the large beast out of the lake, and started dragging it back towards Ace of Spades. By the time he had arrived back at town the sun was starting to set but there was still a lot of work to be done. A guard came running to the gate and asked Mashyuu what he was doing. Mashyuu informed the man to get some cooks to start prepping the octopus for the homeless while the Earth Wizard made his way past the front gate and started for a large clearing where a few houses used to be.

Mashyuu's A-rank Exam [Private] Empty Re: Mashyuu's A-rank Exam [Private]

Post by redheadedstepchild 26th July 2016, 2:00 pm

Finding himself among the clearing of old buildings that had fallen in the wake of the Magma dragon. Mashyuu looked out to the confused townsfolk of Ace of Spades and swallowed hard. A single beat of sweat rolled from the crown of his head, down his nose and off his chin, hitting the ground below him. Slowly he raised his hands to hush the growing crowd and spoke calmly, and clearly. "People of Ace of Spades, I am gong to do my best to house as many of you as possible. Please step back and if you head to the front gate you will see a large octopus, that is for the town to eat." Mashyuu called out to the people. The men and women all looked around, a hushed whisper spread around the townsfolk, mostly debating about weather Mashyuu was telling the truth or not. Eventually they all seemed to agree and started to head for the front gates. Once they were cleared Mashyuu closed his eyes, letting his growing magical power flow through him in a way he had rarely done. The ground rumbled under him hard, then it went still. A cool breeze washed over the city then a large building of clay and stone rose up out of the ground under Mashyuu, raising him high into the sky. A three story building stood proudly under Mashyuu, the blue eyed Wizard fell to his rear and ran his left forearm over his forehead. "Well that kicked my butt." He joked while shooting a glace over at Mashyuu. The stone dog tilted it's head and jumped up onto Mashyuu's chest, pawing at his face. "Yeah, you're right. We need to get the ball rolling. Go find some beds. If you do find em, come find me and we so we can move em into the building." Mashyuu ordered the animal. Swiftly Mashyuu ran over to the edge of the building and jumped down to hit the ground and started to run off towards a small cluster of stores. He pushed a door open, a small bell rang over head and a young man, roughly the same age as Mashyuu waved at the slayer from the back of the shop. "How can I help you sir?" The man asked. Mashyuu pointed over his shoulder at the building behind him in the distance. The man looked then glanced at Mashyuu while he cleared his throat. "I'm building a home for those who lost their homes during the dragon attack until things can be rebuilt. I was wondering if you had some mattresses you could spare? If needed I can pay for them." Mashyuu explained. The man stood still for a moment and thought. "No need. Take what you need, in times like these we all need to stick together." The man stated. Mashyuu grabbed a mattress and walked it out of the building, behind him the shop worker followed with a second mattress and a large blanket. At the building the man spread the blanket out and set the single person mattress down on it. Mashyuu stacked his up while Rocky soared over head with another and stacked it as well. Already a few men and women who had stayed behind to do work were in the building, setting up rooms and making it more comfortable to live in.

Seeing his work was done, and not wanting to get in the way of others Mashyuu and Rocky soared up into the sky, landing on the Sabertooth guild hall. His body ached with pain while he stalked into his room and flopped on his bed. He wasn't sure if his father was alive or not, nor was he sure he even wanted to meet his dad if he was really alive. Still it was worth checking out. The man looked at the egg sitting warmly in the corner of his room and tilted his head. His sharp ears could hear the egg cracking and he jumped over Rocky and landed next to the egg on his knees. "Rocky, close the door." He ordered the animal. Rocky stood up on it's hind legs and walked over to the door, shutting it and turning to face the egg. Slowly the shell of the egg cracked down from the top, to the bottom. Mashyuu swallowed hard, not sure if he should be ready to cast a spell or embrace the animal that was going to come out. Suddenly a rainbow colored arm with sharp claws launched out of one of the cracks. It's long fingers curled up and grabbed the shell of the egg, ripping the top of it off. Another arm jutted out of the egg and legs came out shortly after. With a hard shake, the egg flung about. Large wings spread wide and the sharp head of a mighty, yet still small dragon twisted to look at Mashyuu. Mashyuu took a half step back until Ux, his ring and teacher ordered him to stop and not show any fear. The Dragon slowly walked around Mashyuu on all four limbs and stood. At it's new born height it was just as tall as Mashyuu. It's mouth opened and a small voice spilled out of it, speaking in draconic. "You are the one who hatched my egg? This makes you my caretaker? What is it I am to be called?" The dragon asked. Mashyuu looked the dragon made of what was seemingly gems over and it's name came to mind. "You are Hōseki, My name is Mashyuu. I was taught by Ux, the Dragon of Earth. We are going to be good friends." Mashyuu stated and extended his hand to shake the dragon's. Hōseki smiled and shook the Earth Slayer's hand. "You speak the language of the Dragons. It will be a pleasure to work with you while I develop my power so long as you are honorable." Mashyuu always considered himself a fair person and Rocky did as well. "Rocky, it's time to go find Kanix, and make sure our daughter comes into the world safely."
