It had been quite a lazy day for Vargas. After his latest success in Motor City, where he had defeated the Slasher and put an end to all mayhem in town, the Seig gave himself a couple of days to rest in order to recover from his wounds and eliminate all neurotoxin traces from his body. The Seig had gotten used to have Kina around, given that she was the one tending for his wounds and, let's be honest, he always enjoyed some extra femenine attention. However, in due time (perhaps less than a normal human would've taken to), his wounds healed and he became able to get down to working once again.

It hadn't been even a week, but suddenly, his iLac in-box suddenly got various messages at once. One in particular caught his attention... it was the chief from Beanstalk Village, where he had been helping before. The white haired mage opened up said mail, and began reading. As his eyes went through the description, a smile began forming on his lips. It was on. He could already feel the thrill of the hunt, heart aching to go there and get down to business; the Seig had never been a stationary man, after all.

It took him the whole day to go back from Motor to Beanstalk, but once he stepped out of the train and didn't see anyone waiting for him. While they already knew who Vargas was, and that his intentions were none other than help them solve their trouble, it was still rather weird to see nobody around. Getting out of the station, he re-read the mail once again, to clear out what he had to do...

That's when his eyes caught a glimpse of a black monolith, rising on the distance, far away from the village. The fact that it could be seen from where he was already spoke on its own... what in the world could that be? Somehow, Vargas remembered that strange dream he had one of the nights he spent in Motor City; he'd have to examine it closer to say it was the same, however. The thing was, according to the chief, ever since that obelisk had appeared, there had been sightings of... strange creatures.

Without a word, Vargas set out towards Spooky Forest, ready to put down the threat and return peace to Beanstalk once again. He also had to look out for possible people that had gotten astray in the ocean of trees.

Vargas had to say that the forest had earned its name pretty well. The fact that visibility was very reduced in the area thanks to the thick foliage and the amazing number of trees, coupled with the sounds of animals, should've been enough to creep out a normal person at night. However, he could now hear the echoes of laughter, sinister laughter that couldn't come from Earthland's creatures. There was something else in Spooky Forest.

-Hmm... yup. This is gonna get ugly. -Vargas stated out loud as he ventured into the Forest, ready to fight whatever might come out in the first place. While he was slightly distressed by the situation, given that it was completely anomalous, he could not deny that he was excited to go on his first "official job" as a hired gun. He had been contacted directly... should that go well, his business's success might skyrocket! It'd only take time for people to know of his role in solving the problem there.

The male got prepared beforehand, entering Swordmaster style. He would still not summon his Devil's Arms; rather, he'd simply wait and see what might happen and what kind of creature would come out. Only then would he decide...

    -Let's get rollin'!

As Vargas walked throughout the Forest, the first group of what he could label as enemies appeared, moving clumsily, but with a menacing appearance. Their bladed appendages, combined with what seemed to be a puppet or sack-like exterior made them look like a scarecrow gone wrong. Four of those creatures would jump after Vargas, in whose face appeared an eager half-grin, as he rose his hand to the air, palm open, summoning his first Devil's Arm.

-This party's gettin' crazy! Let's rock!!!! -the male shouted, getting Asag in his hands, the spear clad its wielder in its Gust Aura, as the group of four Scarecrows plunged at Vargas in a rather inconsistent manner, without no planning and no signs of intelligence. The white haired mage began to fight the creatures, shifting targets on the move as he brought down the golden-bathed weapon onto his foes.

While the mysterious beings attacked, their clumsy movements didn't prove to be that dangerous. However, Vargas didn't make the mistake of underestimating them, remembering Ren Harrington. Thus, despite a couple of attacks hitting him, he managed to block out most of the damage with well-timed spear movements.

After continuing the fighting for about five minutes, with Asag slowly, but surely tearing through the opposition with swift strikes coupled with the windy aura, all of them empowered thanks to Swordmaster's augment on melee damage. Eventually, and although Vargas had taken quite some damage, the Scarecrow group was eventually disposed of, which made Vargas let out a "Whew!".

    -Alright, then... who's next?

Right after disposing of the first group of Scarecrows, Vargas found himself already surrounded by yet another group, which made him think that the situation was worse than what he had originally anticipated. Yes, the forest was infested with demons, and it had only happened in the span of a couple of days. That meant that, if he wanted to put an end to the threat, and seeing how the monolith was probably the cause for that invasion, the strange obelisk needed to be taken down.

Thus, Vargas decided that he'd need to storm in and finish the group fast before they even surrounded him. The Seig first delivered a wide sweep with Asag, hitting the four of them at once, and then used the force of the spear to propel himself and jump on them. He landed feet first on one of the demonic beings and stabbed it on the head, delivering a critical strike and killing it. Afterwards, he'd begin to spin Asag over his head at rapid speeds, generating a tornado as wind drew and sucked in all entities in the nearby. The other demons, while tried to resist, were inevitably captured in the vortex as the Seig kept on gathering power; despite this, they managed to hit him once or twice while in the vortex.

Once he was ready, the Seig unleashed the Wind Raid attack, characteristic of that Devil's Arm, to put an end to the remaining three demons who were still floating helplessly on the gust. After that, Asag faded into nothingness, having expired its time limitation, and returning to Vargas's soul. The Seig would not stop, however, and instead began darting through the forest.

The more the Seig advanced, the darker the area kept getting, as if the forest itself was trying to trap him in there. While he knew it'd be as easy to climb up a tree and take a look where he was from up above, he could not deny that it was the perfect place for an ambush. Vargas could notice that he was getting a bit tense, probably due to the reduced vision range in the area. He needed to be on his toes, because he was unsure of what else he would encounter.

The steps he took, unbeknownst to him, were enough to alert two beings that were on the lookout in Spooky Forest, two that had emerged from the demon realm and were much more powerful than the demons that he had encountered before. As they took notice of the Devil's Arms user's presence, the two of them began tailing him without losing any time. They were quite stealthy, and given the area was shrouded in dark, it was somewhat difficult to detect them.

The fact that some noise was made as they jumped from tree to tree put Vargas into a state of alert. He stopped completely, and focused on his Sensory to pick up the readings. They were concealing their magical power... or perhaps they were too far away for him to notice? He had only recently improved that skill, so the white haired mage was unable to tell.

In a matter of a split second, the two otherwordly beings emerged from the shadows, jumping in front of him, two red tails sprouting from each's back. They menacingly glowed red, and did look quite sharp with those jagged scales despite their bodies appear so... fragile.

Devil May Cry: The Beginning [Job | Solo] 15741380894_5a3bdf8163_z

The two of them stood there, awaiting, as if expecting some sort of reaction. Vargas, however, did not attack. There was something that did not seem right... the other demons had approached him instantly upon seeing him and outright tried to kill him, but those two masked beings... what were they after?

Just in case, Vargas flicked his fingers, entering Swordmaster style. The two enemies seemed to pick up on the change of his magic power flow, and braced themselves. However, as nothing seemed to happen, their tails menacingly moved and ripped the trees off from their roots, slicing through the bark as if it was butter. As the trees fell and a cloud of dust rose, only fate would tell what happened next.

As the dust settled again, and Vargas remained, he could've sworn he heard a voice coming from right in front of him.

-Uuuh... Shiro-nee? Why is this guy still here? Hasn't he caught the hint? I think we did it pretty obvious... we did it pretty obvious, right? -a distraught tone, followed by a second voice, much less talkative.

    -Shut up. He's not scared.

-What? What do you mean he's not scared? We just sliced through those giant trees, he should be running home, like the rest of the villagers! Do you think it'd have been more impressive if we had turned the trees into confetti? Yes, that must be it!

-Kuro-nee, he's not from the village. Magic. -the other being stated. Vargas squinted as they mentioned his ability to use magic. So they could sense his power, after all. Well then, they would've probably not gone there if they didn't know they could kill him. He should brace for a hard battle.

However, instead of a violent clash... after the dust finally cleared, Vargas, with a quirked eyebrow, witnessed the discussion between the two otherwordly beings, who were clearly arguing at each other. As the black one noticed they were no longer hidden, she waved her tails again and spoke, trying to put on a scary voice.

-Huuuuman! Get oooout of this forest or we'll taaaaake your sooooul!!!
    -Lame.
-Oh, right? Then why don't you try something else?
-...I like when you do fun stuff.
    -That's not an excuse!
    -I'm shy.

Vargas, who couldn't believe what he was seeing, and less than there were some demons with a bigger mouth than his, had to enter the conversation. -You know, if I had a watch I'd be looking at my wrist reeeeally condescendingly right now.

-You stay out of this! I need to figure out a way to scare you off!
-Wait... you want to scare me off?
-Well, duh! You typical humans don't stand a chance against us demons! It's not safe here in this forest!
    -...he's not typical.

As the two beings kept arguing, Vargas didn't know what to do or say. To be fair, he had never been in a situation like that... so far, all the demons he had encounter in his life, from his early days to that very day, had been completely hostile when it came to fighting humans. So, what in the world was happening with those two? The Seig wouldn't drop his guard, but he certainly was dumbfounded by the situation as a whole. One thing, however, he remembered from the information he had been given in the report.

-So you were the ones chasing the civilians through the forest. A black demon and a white demon.
-We've got names, thank you very much!!!
-...our names mean exactly "black" and "white".
-You're not helping here, Shiro-nee! And I keep telling you, people won't take us seriously until we change them!!
Ignoring her sister, the white demon looked at Vargas, which only provoked more rambling from the demon clad in black.

-Chased humans away. Hell's Gate. Dangerous.

Hell's Gate? Did they refer to the black monolith that had only recently appeared in the forest? Everything was getting weirder and weirder for Vargas, who was used to simply seek and destroy any demonic target in the vicinity. However, those two... what exactly were their intentions?
    -So, what in the world...

Caught up in the conversation, Vargas hadn't noticed a Scarecrow slipping behind him, ready to deliver a deadly blow. However, in a flash, the being clad in white destroyed it with a violent tail movement, then showered it with a rain of those blood-red jagged scales from the tip. The white-haired male, staring at her with his eyes widened, hadn't even felt it coming.

    -Careful. Scarecrows. Bad demons.
    -Bad demons?

A tired sigh came from the demon in black, who approached them and grabbed Vargas by the arm.
-Aaagh, you don't know anything about us do you? And they sent you here to hunt demons? Puh-lease, you need some lessons here! Plus, don't go assuming we're all bad people... er, devils! Some of us are good, you know?!

    -...Kuro-nee is scary when angry.
    -No, I'm not!!!

Still, Shiro would go and tug Vargas from his coat's right sleeve.
-Come with us. Safe place. Explanations.

It looked like the white demon did not use full sentences when she was talking to a stranger like himself. Still, the two devils didn't leave him much of a choice and they seemed pretty strong, so Vargas would comply for the time being... though he'd be wary not to be sent to an ambush by them.

Vargas Seig, who had previously labeled himself as a demon hunter in training, had been gripped by the arms by both devils, the black one and the white one. They were kind of pushy in their own way, and somewhat resmebled his idea of what having two annoying little sisters would be like. Well... for the time being, he'd play along; after all, he was able to feel that they had an incredible amount of magic power, and would probably have it easy to fight and finish him off at their whim. Once they had walked for quite some time, perhaps fifteen minutes, the three of them arrived to what looked like a very rudimentary shelter. There were marks of clean cuts in some wood nearby, a silly attempt at a campfire (which had probably yielded no result whatsoever) and two badly made tents.

-This. Home. -the white one spoke under her breath, although she wanted him to hear. Vargas quirked an eyebrow at that sentence. Home... huh? That sentence -or well, sort of- struck him, making the young mage think. Up until that point, while he had been saying that some demons were bound to be different... he had never stopped to think about them having concepts like that one.

-T-This is not our home! It's just a provisional shelter we built... pretty impressive, right? Right? -the demon in black stated. However, she gasped in realization: their masks were still on. Still, she quickly camouflaged that feeling by trying to put the pressure on Vargas. -You've come to our place, so a well-mannered man should answer by introducing himself! It's only natural!! -the pushy demon stated, as Vargas took a sigh. -You brought me here on your own... but anyway. My name is Vargas, Vargas Seig. Now, isn't it of well-mannered demons to introduce themselves, too?

The two demons looked at each other. With a nod, they removed their masks, revealing the visages of two young girls, sixteen year olds, to be accurate. One's left eye, and the other one's right eye, were black with red glows, while the other ones were perfectly normal. As they removed their hoods too, their hair came into view: it shared the same colors as their clothing; black and white.
-Shiro. Sister, Kuro. -the shy one answered.

-Well, then... I've got some questions. You two... I was told you chased the civilians away, like I told you. But you didn't want to hurt them, or else you'd already tried to attack me. Why are you helping them?

As Vargas asked them that, the two demons looked at each other, thinking if he was an idiot.
-Why the hell do you think we chased them away? Those idiots were trying to enter the forest right when the Hell's Gate is there, letting all sorts of demons out! Are they trying to kill themselves? You kidding me? -the black demon retorted, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

-So far, all demons I've come across tried to kill me, or other people. It's only normal that I've got my doubts, don't you think? -he responded.
-Not all bad. Demons. Some nice. -Shiro answered in a tone that was a bit hurt, perhaps offended? Vargas then put a wry grin. -Though I guess there's a first time for everything, and a nice chat with demons? Hell, a nice story to tell at the bar. Still... there's something I don't know yet. Why are you guys doing this? Why are you different? And what's this "Hell's Gate?" It's the black monolith, right?

The two demons pondered things for a moment, trying to answer all of his questions.

-We. Not the same. Humans... not that bad.
-It's true that most demons despise humans and want to tear them apart. The reason, I'm not sure myself. However, most of them are mindless beasts... but I'd like to think we're different. The Underworld... or Hell, I don't know what you call it. It's not precisely the best place to live... at least, not for us.

    -Why not?

-Other demons, bad. We, hate it. -her voice cracked up a bit as she lowered her head, with Kuro taking over once more.
-Most demons are always fighting and killing. It doesn't matter if you can live well or not... Only the strong ones tend to surpass those instincts. But we... as far as I can remember, we've always hated it. All the senseless violence, with nothing to fight for. That's why, when the Hell's Gate opened... oh, right, I still haven't told you what the Hell's Gate is.

-I can figure it out, more or less. It's an exit from the underworld to this place, right?

The Seig felt a tug on his sleeve. Shiro wanted to speak again.
-Yes. But he... opened gate. Secret. Helped us get out of there...
    -He? Who?
-He never did introduce himself. Though now that I see a bit better... you look like him. Probably just a coincidence, since he's a demon, too. Anyway... we got here right as he opened the Gate. However, the other demons also followed, and began infesting the forest, so when the other humans came here, we tried our best to get them out.

-Humans, haven't done bad... to us. You, not bad either. -Shiro appeared to be talking in longer phrases since removing her mask.
-We didn't want them to die, so... we decided to get them out of here.

-But then, why not destroy the Hell's Gate instead? You look like you'd be able to do it. I mean, I can feel your power... it'd probably be enough to send me down there to Hell with you if you wanted to -he joked a bit, though his question was serious.
The two of them looked at each other, and then at him with saddened eyes.
-Hell... home. We, destroy way home...? Can't. -Shiro was the most shaken of the two, as Kuro would then explain.
-We're demons... so even if we were to destroy the Hell's Gate, we'd be left out here. But beings like us don't belong here... that's why we couldn't destroy the door. If we went back and destroyed it, the other demons would go after us for treason... So there's nothing else we can do. I mean...

-We, can't ignore this. Humans, die for nothing. I don't want that.

Vargas looked at the two devils with a bit of compassion. Though he still had his guard up, they seemed to be telling him the truth. Plus, what they said made perfect sense... they were locked by the choice of remaining in a world where they were unwanted, or to return to their own and be hunted by their own kin, should they destroy the Gate. However, they didn't want to let it open either.

-I see... and I was hired to destroy that thing, so that would only mean you'd be let out here anyway.
-You... were? What? -Kuro went in the defensive, but Shiro prevented her from taking any foolish action.
-Kuro-nee... Humans want to protect their world. It's normal.
-But then... what in the world do we do? I don't want to kill this human... he seems nice! But I don't want to be cast out of home!

Observing the two demon's dilemma, Vargas scratched his chin, lost in thought. Perhaps... they didn't have to do so. -So you can do two things. One... you kill me right here. If you choose to do it, I will defend myself, but otherwise I won't attack you. -he stood up and offered them to take a shot at him... but they sadly negated his suggestion with a head movement.
-Shiro... don't want to kill Vargas. Vargas, nice human.
-But then... what else can we do...?

Vargas smiled at them, with open arms.

-Two... you can join forces with me. I will have to ask you, though... are you ready to kill demons, your own kin? I promise not to go to the Underworld to hunt them down, but I will protect my realm, fighting those that come out with foul intentions. If you want to, you can come with me. I sort of don't have a home either... so we're a bit similar. I have to destroy the Hell's Gate, though, and I can't let anyone get in my way. So... what is your answer?

The two demons looked thoughtful for a couple of seconds. Vargas awaited for their answer without trying to pressure them. It had to be their choice, no matter what. He didn't want to have a say in anyone's freedom; the white haired mage simply offered them a chance, a way out of the vicious lockdown they were in. Soon enough, Shiro and Kuro looked at him with an inquiring look in their faces. -Why...? Why aren't you afraid of us? We could kill you at any given moment, you know? -the black one asked, making Vargas let out a chuckle.

-What's life without a little trouble? Plus, if you put me down, working would be over, so hey, can't say it doesn't have benefits. -the man joked. After a second, Kuro bursted out in laughter. She couldn't believe her words. -I can't believe a human could be such an... idiot! -her laugh wasn't maniatical or evil, but rather, a pure-hearted one.

-That'd be just me, yes. Don't go generalizing on me, other humans are a bit more intelligent and smart than I am.

As Kuro finished laughing, Shiro could be seen also holding her own chuckles. The demon in black looked at the white-haired man with a curious look on her heterochromatic eyes.
-You are a strange one... I can't deny that. Still, I'm not sure, we'll have to give it some thought. Helping you is tempting and all, but we've got our own schedule. Plus, it's not like demons would ally with humans so easil...

Before she could finish her sentence, Shiro had grabbed tight onto Vargas's arm.
-No. I like him. We go with Vargas-niichan! -she pouted at her sister with a somewhat demanding, yet still shy voice tone.
-...niichan? Shiro-nee, are you sick or something? -her companion could not believe what she had just heard.
-Other demons are bad. Vargas-niichan is nice. Easy choice.
-Look, I'm trying to play difficult to get here...
    -Shut up. I don't care.
    -There you go again!

After the two of them quarrelled for a bit, the choice seemed to be made.
-Alright, then... for the time being, we'll go with you. But! You'll have to treat us nicely, or I'll kill you. Don't think you can take us for fools! -the demon in black spoke.

-If that's settled... let's get that Hell's Gate. I'll destroy it, so you don't have to be held responsible for anything. Just stay hidden while I tear it apart, so other demons can't see you.

It took them at least another fifteen minutes of walking to arrive to the Hell's Gate location. The two demons could feel where it was, as if embedded in their soul... perhaps because they had entered the human realm from that passage. The black monolith rose before them, even more intimidating than before. Vargas could've sworn a large building-sized demon could've got there from the gigantic obelisk.... so it would be better to destroy it as soon as possible. As instructed, the two demons would remain hidden in a nearby bush, trying to keep the lowest profile possible to avoid any unnecessary contact with other creatures. Vargas would be the one to take the gate on.

Wondering what weapon would be the best to destroy it, he soon decided for one. Given he hadn't changed styles, he figured out he'd change to Gunslinger and summon Valag once his magic flow re-estabilished. With a flick of his fingers, his own ethernano levels shifted to a different disposition. Vargas had to wait some time to be able to summon a Devil's Arm, but since he was out of combat, nothing out of the ordinary happened as he remained idle.

Once it was ready, the Seig summoned Valag, and tried a Ruin shoot on the massive structure. As the bowgun fired the explosive shell, the recoil making Vargas slide backwards, the projectile bursted once in contact with the black stone, creating the subsequent blast...
As smoke covered the impact area, the white haired mage wondered if he had gotten any results... But then, a bladed being emerged from the smoke, disippating it and slashing Vargas's torso from the right, making him cough blood. The creature's speed was astonishing, given its size. As the smoke vanished, it revealed something worrying... the gate had activated, even though it had taken some damage. Probably a self-defense mechanism?

-What the... -the Seig could only say as he turned to watch the being. It was like a stronger version of what he had fought before... only bigger, faster, and overall, badder. That was also a higher ranked demon. An ear piercing screech came from the recently summoned creature, making the white haired mage flinch for a moment.

-Vargas-niichan, watch... -Shiro was about to shout, but her sister muffled her. They had to remain hidden.

From the Gate, a Mega Scarecrow had emerged, dealing a large amount of damage to Vargas in the process. The mage now faced an opponent much stronger than the demons he had faced before, but it would be the best chance to test himself. With the same eager smile that formed on his visage every time he knew he was in peril, the white haired mage let out a yell towards the demon. -Let's do this! This is what I live for!! -he shouted, darting through the battle field, eventually jumping next to the creature and firing another Ruin shot at it. The bullet would hit the Mega Scarecrow, and after a short delay, the explosion ensued.

Shiro and Kuro gasped, for they realized that the being he held in his hands was the manifestation of a demon's soul. However, why was this so astonishing? Well, perhaps because the only other being they knew that was capable of using such magic was the one who had opened the Gate, allowing the demons to exit in the first place... and them to escape the endless conflict in Hell. Who in the world was the man in red, then?

In the meantime, Vargas didn't want to stop the Onslaught, so he quickly shifted weapons from Valag to Daeva, his bow. The Devil's Arms user would fire two arrows at the Mega Scarecrow, with the first one releasing the deadly poison of the Corruption Arrows. Afterwards, he fired above, and unleashed the weapon's active on the beast. As Make it Rain fell upon it, dust covered the area. Stopping in his tracks, the Seig would take a look to see if his attacks had been enough to put down the beast.

His eyes would widen as the smoke faded away. The Mega Scarecrow stood there, unfazed. It had taken a lot of damage, yes; however, it hadn't been enough to kill it. The powerful demon rotated its torso, and then jumped on the air, accelerating as it made something akin to a wheel with the multiple blades that covered its body; the beast plunged at Vargas, who, despite his best efforts, didn't manage to fully avoid the attack in time.

With a gasp, the human let out some blood, coughing, as he was thrown to the ground by the blow. The mage was almost out of combat, having taken too much damage throughout the forest fighting the demons, and by the surprise attack from earlier.
The demons in black and white put a hand on their mouths, horrorized. Vargas was almost dead...

    HP: 30/200
MP: 70% (dismissed Valag, summoned Daeva)

    Mega Scarecrow's HP: 4C/8D - [1D (Ruin) + 1D (Daeva attack 1) + 1D (Daeva attack 2) + 0.5D(corruption arrows)]*1.5 (Gunslinger bonus) = 4C/8D - 2.6C/5.25D = 1.4C/2.75 D

The Mega Scarecrow approached menacingly as Vargas got up. He was running out of resources, because he doubted the creature would fall for the same trick again. However, given his poor condition, he wasn't capable of performing any complex maneuver, and thus, attempted to fire another arrow at the demon. This time around, the creature dodged it with a pounce, remaining in the sky for a moment, still getting up. From there, its body began to rotate again, as if going to release the same attack as before. However, that time it was spinning much faster... probably a stronger variation of the wheel attack.

-Heh... this looks bad! -Vargas half-smiled with a closed eye, blood still coming out of his lips. With the beast having avoided that arrow, he was almost out of options. Another Daeva hit wouldn't be enough to kill, even with the corruption and the augmented damage. Had he burned out of luck...?

-Oh no... Nonononono... what do we do, Shiro-nee?! -the demon in black asked her sister. Normally, things would be the other way around, but that time, the shy demon stood up from her hiding spot. -I'm going. I want to help Vargas-niichan. -But if we get out of here, they'll know...! We won't be able to go back home! Don't you understand?

-...Hell isn't home. Hell is just where we were born. The other demons... they aren't family. They just kill and destroy. I hate them... but Vargas-niichan is nice. He came here to help other people. He might die for trying to help other people. I like that. Vargas-niichan can be family!

The female demon in white helped her sister stand up. Their gazes were directed at the struggling human right before them. -That's why I want to protect him. Because family... -...because family means nobody gets left behind.

Those were the words they had been saying to each other whenever facing any difficulties. They then looked at each other and nodded. If he was capable of using the same magic as that man... then he surely could use them both.

Vargas, unknowning, faced the demon when he felt two souls flying right at him. Without even giving him time to say "What the heck", the two of them entered his body, and a light envelopped the human, with shades of black and white. Light and Shadow. Shades and Gleams.  By the time the light faded, in his hands rested twin semi automatic pistols, with amazing design and a comfortable grip, as if custom-made. Admiring the two weapons while wondering what had just happenned, he heard a voice coming from the black one.

-Stop looking so confused, damnit!! It's us! Kuro and Shiro!
    -Wait... what?
-Kuro and Shiro. Bad names for a weapon...
-Then what do you suggest, Bakashiro? Light and Dark? Ebony and Ivory?
    -That's dumb. Annihilation Surge.
    -That's so tacky! How about...
-Uuh, I think we have more pressing concerns!! -the man shouted as the demon began its descent, cutting through the air. Knowing he couldn't dodge, there was only one option left.

-Alright then, Vargas-niichan... let's show them what we've got!
    -Time to hunt.

Spinning each pistol with each hand, he got a tight grip on them, and a devilish smile appeared on his face.

    -Now we're talking.

Immediately, he unleashed a barrage of bullets towards the Mega Scarecrow. Much to his amazement and surprise, the bullets mercilessly tore holes on the creature as they advanced, damaging its body as it fell, trying to slice them up. However, as more and more bullets pierced and shredded the creature, it began losing balance, until its form was shifted. Thus, the beast ended up landing on the ground, having been heavily damaged by the twin pistols's onslaught, combined with Gunslinger's augmented damage.

    -Holy shit!
    -Wow.
-What in the god-damn Lucifer was that?!

The three of them had been amazed by the damaging capabilities that weapon presented. Vargas gave his twin pistols another look, and smiled.

-Remind me not to get you two angry!

    OOC:

    HP: 30/200

    Mega Scarecrow defeated.

Once the Mega Scarecrow was taken care of, all that remained was taking care of the Hell's Gate, which had already been damaged by the Ruin shot from earlier. Vargas had to let the two guns cool down before being able to use them again, given the savage salvo they had just unleashed to finish off the beast guarding the Hell's Gate. In the meantime, the mage would be hearing his guns shout names at each other, not knowing which ones would be best.

    -Pain and Agony!
    -Too grim. Luce e Ombra?
-That's our name in another language! -they were breaking the fourth wall alright.
    -Then?
    -Rock and roll?
    -...that's dumb. You're dumb.

    Vargas, however, made a suggestion.
-When you two appeared before, that light spectacle was awesome. So, I was guessing this... since the light was both black and white, how about... Shade and Gleam? -the man inquired, to which both guns seemed to agree.
-Eeeeh. It's not half bad, so it will do.
-Vargas-niichan isn't good picking names, either.
-I think my taste is too refined for you -the man joked around, and then shifted his attention to the Hell's Gate.

-Let's finish the damn thing off... I'm gonna need a vacation after this.
With a half-smile, he unleashed a second barrage of bullets, which did the trick. The projectiles easily tore through the monolith's black stone as if it was butter. The structure, previously damage, didn't hold for too long, and would soon crumble to pieces.

As the Hell's Gate was destroyed, the portal linking both world had also broken, which meant that the situation was, at least, stable. There were demons still running rampant in the forest, but they'd take care of that later. As of that time, the Seig had earned himself both a good rest, and two new companions for his travels.

Sometimes, your worst enemy turned out to be your greatest ally... and now, he thought that demons didn't have to be so bad, after all. At least, it confirmed his theory; it didn't matter whether human or devil. Some were good, some weren't. For the time being, he had met two gentle demons, and that was more than enough.

    [MISSION ACCOMPLISHED]
