So you can throw me to the wolves
    Tomorrow I will come back
    Leader of the whole pack
    Beat me black and blue
    Every wound will shape me
Every scar will build my throne

Stepping deeper into the dark abyss that was the Spooky Forest, Ardere could now gaze upon the guild that was Savage Skull. It was not as terrifying as he had expected, but it was quite creepy. When one had traversed several sections of the Cursed Lands, their perspective of terrifying tended to change. One thing his perspective had not changed on, was battle. After the events that had taken place in the past week, the Fire King had recalled his purpose in this world. He was a warrior, one specifically meant to fight on the side of light. But sometimes, he had to go to a dark place to do this. The guild standing before him had proposed a threat for many years, and ultimately had lead to problems throughout Fiore. While it was not what it once was, if he was to prove he was serious of this path, he would need to start here. The guild had not invoked his wrath, so he would fight them head on with honor, but that did not mean he was not prepared to deal with any tricks.

Tightening the straps on his wooden and leather armor, the gold stripes running through rivers of read glistened for a moment. It was very dark and fog covered out here in the forest, but his heightened senses helped with that. It's been too long. The last time he was in this forest, some unsavory flash backs to his past occurred. This time, he had come with a less private purpose. Stepping forward until he was in front of the guild, it was mid day, and his cloak flickered in the breeze. The red head band tied between his thick brown locks fell down across his shoulders. The sword across his back was still sheathed, but he was prepared to change that. Keeping a laid back and calm attitude, he looked out to the guild hall as a flaming black aura shot across his body. This flaming black aura would extend, as he picked up a small rock. Encasing the rock in a black aura as well, the fire mage tossed it at the front door. This once barely lethal rock had been increased to a legendary weapon in damage and durability, backed by his powerful strength. As soon as the rock hit the door, it would blast it out, creating a fair sized crater. I'd like to formally challenge your entire guild, if that'd be alright. He called out. Unsheathing his blade, he took a step back, prepared for an attack from any and all sides.

(OOC: If you are an SS member, you are allowed to come into this topic, with no cap on how many can participate. I'm not going to come in and one shot any of you, so dont be too tricky with me, this is supposed to be fun!)

(Dammit now I have to finish my magic on Rosetta so I can actually fight, but for now...)

It seemed that someone had chosen to come calling on the guild and not for just a visit. Someone had come to challenge not just one member of the guild, but the entire guild. A humourous attempt at bravado perhaps or was the attacker actually insane? To the first to respond this did not matter at all. After all, humour was not something she really understood and insanity to her was just a malfunction. Besides, a lot of members of the guild could be classed as insane. Atop the ramparts of the Savage Castle a young girl stood and observed the attacked. Her clothing consisted of a dark blue coat with white buttons. Along with this was worn a matching hat and boots. Around her neck a white scarf and on her legs white pants. Her eyes were red and had a look of curiosity in them. She appeared, at most, to be about ten years old. She did not appear at all to be a threat, at least physically.

The head tilted slightly as she scanned the individual. "Ardere Kasai. Alias: Fire King. Status: Guildmaster of Infinity Hydra. Magic element: Fire. Threat level: 82%." she stated calmly and robotically to herself in a voice barely audible even to someone standing right next to her. She did not engage immediately. She had a subroutine to gather as much information as possible and right now she didn't have much on him. Compared to the likes of Heero, who was overly flashy and always in the news, Ardere was more subtle. She had less information on him and his fighting style. As such she would wait and hope that other members of the guild would engage him so she could observe him before engaging.

Currently, the chance of her defeating him would be around 43% by her calculation and that was factoring in a certain amount of luck. She wanted the chance of defeating him to be over 60% before she engaged. She needed to bring him down entirely and eliminate him. IF she didn't and merely drove him off her presence would be revealed and she would be less useful to her master. The only way to defeat him was to go all out against him as he was a powerful mage. So elimination would be necessary unless they had someone within the guild who could erase memories.

Perhaps if others joined the fray she could lock off some of the more powerful items in her arsenal so that her true power wasn't revealed. Then if they merely drove him off it wouldn't be detrimental to the guild or Harrigan's plans. Yes, that would be the best situation. "Revising  engagement parameter. All out assault not authorized till elimination probability above 80% or threat level goes above 90%. Preparing to observe." Fortunately she sensed the presence of some other mages within the guild. It was likely they'd engage, particularly if it was a certain few.

Za'cha was once again working on designs and blueprints for future magical weapons and armour, each one purposed for a single type of enemy, whilst at the same time trying to make them capable of being inter-changeable for any developing situations.

As he was preparing to perform a testing sequence on one of the designs, there came a knock on his door interrupting him. "Whoever you are, you had better have a damned good reason for interrupting me whilst I'm working!" he shouted as he made his way to the door and opened it to see one of the lower ranked Guild members standing there.

"Well, spit it out then!" he demanded, the man quickly nodding. "The Infinity Hydra Guildmaster... he's here... and challenging the entire guild." he said, Za'cha blinking for a moment before dismissing him. "Pride, what do we know about this guy again?" he inquired of the Dark Celestial Spirit of Sin that resided within him.

The ghostly apparition of the figure formed next to him, even though Za'cha was the only one that could see him. "Supposedly was once a member of Sabertooth before forming his own guild, and has access to quite a range of interesting toys. However, the most interesting aspect is that he's a Fire Slayer mage, specifically the God kind."

Za'cha processed the information, a grin spreading across his face as he considered the situation. "About damned time we got to properly give our stuff a real test run. Was afraid I'd never get to find a Slayer to try them out on!" he said before sealing his door behind him and making his way for the front entrance of the Guild Hall.

As he made his way outside to face the man, he crossed his arms across his chest before speaking to the man across the way. "There any particular reason for this little visit? I don't recall any recent skirmishes between our two guilds that would warrant such an auspicious occasion such as this." he asked of the Infinity Hydra's Guild Master.

He gave a little mock bow. "Name's Za'cha, Pillar Head of Conviction. Figured it'd only be fair to give an introduction, since we already know who you are." the silver haired Dark Mage explained, wondering if anyone else would be coming around to fight this guy.

As the captain of the guard, it is Dubhlainn’s duty to respond, the impact from the blast can be felt from here, and fortunately the doors are sturdy enough to withstand it. Dubhlainn requested the guards to open the doors as he headed down the courtyard to receive Ardere, however he was unarmed. As the gates would open, the left part of the gate would have collapsed, it seems the blast was powerful enough to unscrew all its hinges. Dubhlainn was in his formals but only this time he was wearing his helmet. Za’cha so eager to try on his piece of weaponry had to come and for what reason? This is the first time he’s seen such expression on his face.

“I am Dubhlainn, the captain of the guards of Savage Skull, we are more than willing to offer you a challenge.” Dubhlainn stepped aside and phased his hand towards the courtyard. “Let us settle matters indoors in a civilized manner, after all it’s been quite long since we were challenged by such a daring mage.” He looked around only to see nobody else but Ardere present.

“Is no one with you? Are you sure you wish to proceed even without the aid of allies? I cannot guarantee your safety.” It was kind of Dubhlainn to offer Ardere a proper arena to fight in, and of course he also requests Za’cha to fight him there in the courtyard as well as all members of the guild. It seems Dubhlainn has no intention of fighting Ardere…..

… not while there are spectators at least but if Ardere does not heed Dubhlainn’s warning, Dubhlainn will just have to guarantee that Ardere comes out alive from this.

“If your mind is set, do proceed inside the courtyard and we shall begin your challenge, If possible I advise against lowering your guard as no one there will come to your aid, understand you’re a just a simple man who walked into a den of wolves.” He is not worried for his guildmates, he is worried about the safety of this man, Ardere the guildmaster of of Infinity Hydra, for someone who founded a guild, it seems he’s trying to play a game with death and gamble.

He doesn’t appreciate those kinds of men who rush in so blindly, now he prays Ardere has a plan of his own to get out of here even if he were injured or not.

“I hope my request isn’t too hard to answer, Pillar of Conviction” Course if Ardere and the other members would fight anywhere as they please, the costs to repair potential damages will become troublesome, only the courtyard has insurance covered.

    Post by Raiza Thu 2 Jun 2016 - 12:01

At first it started as a soft cackle. The sinister laughter caused by the news of the Infinity Hydra guild master having arrived at their front door. This sinister laughter was only overshadowed by one other thing deep within the dungeon, and that was the last scream of the tortured victim Raiza was playing with. "Guess my toy will have to wait..." The smile on his face bore the creepy and twisted personality Raiza had nursed even more since become the guild 's Scream Pillar leader. Truthfully, it was only a temporal position, he kept it until he saw Thorn as ready to retake the spot, or some other circumstance to arise, but yet he held it with the pride he knew.

Not to allow himself to move with anything but haste, he'd find himself walking through the guild hall's doorway. Already, Three of his guild mates had arrived, and truth be told, Raiza could only smile. was this guild master insane? Did he know the power of just one of the Aces and the captain of the guards? Let alone... what else was here. Raiza was briefly informed of who she(Rossetta) was supposed to be, but not anywhere of enough information to make an evaluation of the woman. He did wonder if they'd partake in this or not, seeing as they were not standing among the group.

Peering from his crimson hues and black sclera, his expression from a demented and twisted persona would change to the chess player calm that he normally had. "I see my comrades have introduced themselves. Allow me, my name is Raiza - Head of the pillar of screams."Saying no more, his weapon was already long drawn, the gun sword that he was ultimately known for.  His gaze did not waver from looking dead at Ardere, his expression showed a hate. No, not for the man before him, but for the interruption to begin with. Which brought the idea to Raiza that they really needed to start feeding the plants more, and make it that much harder to get past the spooky forest.

Twirling the crimson blade between his fingers, it was not long before the first of what he expected many opponents arrived. He was quite pleased that one of the Pillars had been the first to arrive. He did not underestimate their power at all, if anything Ardere took this as a sign of a good fight. Whether he lost today or not was irrelevant, because he would be sure to make an impact on this guild. Hey there, Za'cha. I appreciate the introduction. I'm normally not so brash as to attack a guild unprovoked, but I've received some intel from a good friend of mine that there's some interesting things afoot here. I figured for once, I'd take the offensive. A smirk crossed the pale lips of the samurai, conviction, the fire mage liked that. Fortunately, he was not the only Pillar to make their introduction, another would arrive. Dubhlainn, of the guards. It was quite fitting that he arrived so quickly to the announcement of his attack, but he found it even more fitting that he was interested in an honorable fight. Afternoon Dubhlainn. I respect that. Stretching his arms and legs for a moment, the Fire King let his aura die down for a moment. Scanning the area, he did not see anyone able to ambush him, nor did he detect any heart beats other than the one coming to meet the brown haired Samurai as well. Giving a slight bow to the now three men, he observed them for a few moments. It's a pleasure, Raiza. Three pillars, all arriving to fight him. He had to admit he expected such a reaction considering he busted a hole in their very nice door.

He did not trust dark mages, but judging by the way that the Captain carried himself and spoke, it seemed as if he had a sense of honor. The other two were what he worried about. I'll adhere to your request then. Hopefully none of you make the mistake of attacking me as I step into the courtyard. That would be most unfortunate fellas. But hey, let's get this show on the road then. Waiting for the three men to move first, he would make his way towards the courtyard. He did not let his guard down at any point, keeping his senses quite keen and ready for an oncoming attack. Ardere kept the shining crimson blade out, as his cloak shifted from side to side with each of his powerful strides. Assuming they made it into the courtyard without incident, the fire mage would stay on the side opposite of them, still observing as much as he could. They appeared to be fairly powerful mages, at least when together. If all was as it seemed, the courtyard in which they had chosen to battle in would be in shambles quite soon. Running pale fingers through his brown hair, the Samurai clutched Clarent tightly, waiting to see what move they made. Feel free to attack me when you're ready. Hopefully no enemies were lying in wait, but if they were, he was quite ready.

Post by Rosetta Crawford Fri 3 Jun 2016 - 4:03

The head of the guards and two pillar leaders. One a recent addition according to her knowledge acquisition whilst the other had been a pillar leader for a while. At least one powerful member of the guild she was aware of had not yet turned up. That was the one known as Thorn. However, as a mage who used plant based magic perhaps it was wise she stayed back as Ardere's magic would easily make short work of them. Still the extra power, even as a distraction, could prove the difference between victory and defeat. With the power of the opponent, in particular magic power, Harrigan and herself might also prove very useful even if she didn't go all out. After all, parts of their magic relied on the opponent's magical strength. Still, for now she would not interfere. She wanted to see what this Ardere was capable of and update her records. To her at least, it seemed unwise to invite him into the courtyard. The forest would of made a better choice. After all, when strong mages fought, particularly slayers, things got broken. Then again perhaps fighting a fire mage in a forest was also not the best idea. So much of it would be flammable that direct attacks could rapidly become area of effects. A troublesome opponent. His threat level in her mind had increased slightly to 85%. However, the chance of his defeat had also increased with the arrival of the other members. It was now above 50%. Numerical superiority had its advantages even if the opponent did have the highest magic power of the four mages present.

As she waited and watched she considered the mage's arrival. It had been too easy. He had thrown an attack at the guild and that was what alerted people. The same had happened on her own arrival when she blasted off the doors. They really needed to reinforce those doors a bit more or perhaps add some sort of reflective elemental to throw attacks back somewhat. At least then if the door fell it would not fall without hurting the attacker, or at least trying. However, it was not the fact that he had been able to attack without being detected that bothered her the most. It was the fact that he had been able to find the guild so easily. He didn't look worn out or bedraggled suggesting it had been an easy enough journey. Was the guild's location that well known? That was something that could not be stood for. She would need to speak to the captain of the guard, if he survived, and possibly Za'cha, as well as Harrigan once this battle was concluded. They needed to up their defenses or at least make it harder to approach. Already ideas were buzzing in her mind and based on her knowledge of of Raiza she was certain at least one of them might appeal to him as it was heavily inspired by lacrima game logic.

Perhaps it was time to reveal Scarlett. It was a part of her, or at least it had been, and was pretty powerful, but its reveal wouldn't be as risky as revealing her true power. If her true power was revealed to someone like the magic council then it could cause them to authorize an attack on the guild. The guild wasn't ready for that yet. That was clear from how easily Ardere had arrived and the fact that only three (or four if including her) had arrived to greet him.

Still, for now she would make no move except to observe. Though perhaps as he was honourable she should try to get one of the mage's below to make a wager. A wager that if he lost then all memories of the battle would be stripped from his mind. Then she could go all out and victory likelihood would increase greatly. She did have a way of doing so as well. Yes, this seemed a good option. Honourable people were much more easy to manipulate.

Za'cha merely shrugged at the Captain of the Guard's request concerning taking the fight into the courtyard as opposed to out here in the forest. Inside or outside, it didn't really matter to him at this moment in time. What did matter though was what exactly had drawn him here. "Define interesting." he said to the man as they entered the courtyard, the silver haired mage wanting to figure out what could have been so interesting as to draw out a Guild Master to their guild.

Once they were all inside, the Infinity Hydra's Guild Master said that they were all free to make their attacks whenever they felt like it. Za'cha smirked as his magic began to whip around him. "Let's dance. Celtchar, Orichalcum!" he invoked, the golden armour forming around him in a flash of smoke and lightning, the halberd appearing in his hands in a similar manner. As soon as the armour was ready, Za'cha triggered its true hidden function, the Divine Echo. A pulse of magic swept out around the courtyard from the golden armour, that would have no effect on anyone else in this fight, unless they were a God Slayer.

With his preparations complete, the Dark Mage burst towards the Guild Master, aiming to slice into him with his halberd.

The Courtyard is a suitable place for them to fight, perhaps the only place to be as they have insurance for the particular area. If the damage were extensive, Dubhlainn would have no choice but to pay for it but matters little in the long run. He revealed his name to the Guildmaster Ardere, the first and only guild mage of Infinity Hydra to know who he is and where his affiliation lies. Perhaps there’s no harm to having him know, a lie is easy to tell or rather he prefer not to lie at all. He directed all fighters to the courtyard, while Dubhlainn is around, there weren’t any conflicts as he’d punish them accordingly even if they were pillar leaders. Restraint is something that should be practiced and with good reason, something he like to see among guild members despite their sanity levels.

Dubhlainn won’t be participating in this fight, as he would only get in the way of the two pillar leaders. Course if Za’cha fights alone then Dubhlainn would have no choice, if Raiza participated then Dubhlainn will have to step down. He does not doubt the powers of both pillar leaders, however he doubts his own capabilities and prefer obscurity above all else. It seems the self-proclaimed daughter of destruction became audience; he exited the courtyard and headed inside.

“Sir isn’t you going to fight?” One of the guards asked.
“No, I am not fighting this battle, I don’t deem capable of fighting alongside the Pillar Leaders. I have more important matters to attend to.” Those matters he mentioned, he wanted to know specifically why Ardere came here and dare not ask him himself, there’s one person to ask when it comes to these matters….

    … and that’s her.

Its bothering him and his gut tells him that Rosetta has something to do with it and if that’s the case, how was Ardere able to catch drift of their plans? While the battle were to progress Dubhlainn entered the room where Rosetta be as she became audience to the fight that would happen below.

“I think you are going to owe me an explanation?” His eyes were fierce, he didn’t careless that she has some authority over him but it be a farce if she finds it difficult to give him a reason.

Keeping tabs on everyone and everything was one of the jobs of a support role in a group. Though he himself also had the ability to soak up a lot of damage, however letting Za'cha lead the assault was the best thing Raiza could do. Support the pillar lead of conviction, and then soon follow the knight up with a checkmate to the single opponent. It was a simple start up plan, but still he was wanting to analyze a little more of his opponent first. Especially with the possibility of it only ending up in a two on one.

So far though, Raiza could tell a few things. Ardere's mana was full, judging by the bar at least. Indicating one of two things. Nothing that consumes mana has been used, or two, regeneration has kicked in fast enough to not let it be known. Next was Ardere's health pool. Raiza had already seen the health pools of everyone here, and once saw Rosetta's too. In comparison to his own, he knew Ardere had a larger health bar, however not by a great extent. However, comparing it to his own was unfair as he himself had a larger pool than normal. Estimation of health was anywhere from 500 to 600 in terms of guessing. Though Raiza only had a guess, he could still know of the pools here, the odds began to look so much more slanted than normal. Especially if the other pillar lead showed up.

Though not to get side tracked, Raiza watched Za'cha perform the opening move, it was an interesting requip, and while it was impressive to see re-quip in action, Raiza was more peaked by the rapidly growing area of effect that his 'danger zone' calculations had taken place on. Which instantly made Raiza activate his checkmate spell by simply whispering the word & amplified the spell Za'cha used, but more specifically the active ability of the requip. Best to at least get that going on a great first start, right? However, what sort of support just activates a spell and does nothing except that.

While Raiza did notice Dubhlainn heading off away as if they'd not be partaking, Raiza had to focus on Ardere. His gun sword was raised up aiming for the man's torso and began to open fire only three of the bullets. No need to show how many he could do at once now after all. The bullets however would be aligned in a trajectory that would not interfere with Za'cha, nor put him at a risk of being hit.

So you can throw me to the wolves
    Tomorrow I will come back
    Leader of the whole pack
    Beat me black and blue
    Every wound will shape me
Every scar will build my throne

Ardere kept his eyes on all of his opponents, but the first to make a move was Za'cha. It appeared that none of them had ambushed him as he entered the hall, and they chose to attack only after he had mentioned so. An odd fact about this guild that he was learning, was their high sense of honor. Fortunately, they had a willingness for battle that he rather enjoyed. A slight smirk crossing his pale lips, this was going to be something. Taking a defensive stance, his right foot slid back a bit. Keeping his glowing orange eyes on the men before him, the man leaped forward with a halberd. He could see the other one known as Raiza preparing an attack as well, meaning there would likely be some form of tandem attack. Flame God's Cloak. Black flames would shimmer across the pale Samurai's body, forming a cloak from head to toe. This particular cloak was not for fashion, but rather a form of defense. But something threw him off heavily; the flames had turned to ice. Still usable and corrupt like god slaying flames, he was confused as to what had happened. What the hell? He thought. It must have been the ability the other man used before his attack, but how was he doing this? Regardless, he could not allow the attack to pierce him. The cloak draped across his back and sides, he pivoted his body a bit so some of the ice was facing the man charging him. Holding onto the cloak with his left hand, he performed a sweep to send the halberd to his left and block the bullets coming at his torso, while going in with his sword. The difference between a normal attack and what he was doing though, was that his sword was covered in dark, corrupt flames. Fortunately, these flames still worked. Sword of power! The fire began to extend to a massive length and width, forming a blade much larger than before. Performing a spin, he would attempt to hit the dark mage again, while the cloak covered the fire mage's entire body from head to toe, at least for the duration of the spin. Once he stopped, his neck up would be visible, allowing him to see his opponent's reaction. The slight smirk still on his face, it was now that he was beginning to notice the order of things. Za'cha ran in for the attack while Raiza provided the support. Dubhlain seemed uninterested in the fight, at least for now. While the brown haired Samurai would have loved to gone all out and created massive explosions throughout this hall, he had to gauge how this fight would go before blowing all of that mana uselessly. So far, he had a decent feeling about the matter at hand. Not bad, let's see watcha got guys.

Za'cha was the first to assault. He'd formed armor and a weapon. This wasn't in the same way she did, but more in a summoning aspect. A magic that her records showed was called re-quip. She was curious as to the pulse of magic that swept out. It was near invisible, but it was something they could feel. It seemed to have no effect on her systems so perhaps it was an AOE that only targeted enemies or perhaps it only targeted a certain subset of mages. Or perhaps she was so on the edge of it that she couldn't feel the effect. Those were all possibilities, but there was no guarantee as to which was which. Besides, she didn't have much if a time to process it. This was due to the Captain of the Guard Dubhlainn coming to confront her asking about an explanation.

Her gaze turned to him scanning him with her hyperspectral camera eyes trying to find any obvious signs as to why he was asking for an explanation. Having not found one nor having been able to calculate a likely one she decided to ask him. After all, surely he wasn't accusing her being somehow responsible for Ardere's arrival rather than dealing with him. That didn't seem very good 'security'.

"What explanation do I owe Captain?" she stated looking at him. There was little emotion in her face. She was a skilled actress, but right now there was no need for that. There wasn't much else she could do without further explanation. She was keen to get back to observing the battle, but right now she was being distracted. Subsconsciously she triggered Harrison to observe the battle and transmit the memories to her. He was her most powerful weapon, a prototype for herself in a way, and still a part of her in some ways. They shared a mental link, but he was completely subservient to her. It would take him a few minutes to get from her room to an area where he could observe which meant a few minutes of information would be lost. This annoyed her and thus Dubhlainn was annoying her, but there was little she could do. She could not kill one of the guild without authorization even if it was for the greater benefit of the guild, or at least the greater benefit of their ultimate weapon.

Sitting in the office the paper work piled high the dark haired woman had her head in her hands as she growled lightly "Why do I do this to myself? It seems endless and half this stuff is just not worth looking at!" she muttered seemingly to herself but Thorn knew she was not alone. In truth, she never really was but this time her eyes came up connecting with the shadow in the corner which looked ever so slightly darker than usual "I am guessing that is more information on the guild?" she asked as a book floated over to her and landed upon her desk. Just a simple nod came as a response. The person in the shadow was not very talkative and preferred to use his words wisely. There was no need for them in this case so he did not use them.

The noise inside the guild made thorn look to the door and she opened her mind out to her friends within and without the halls. "It seems we have an unexpected guest that has challenged the guild, hmmm, do me a favour transport me in." she asked softly standing up as the figure nodded once again and Thorn smirked softly as strange magic surrounded her.
As the office dissapeared with a bright flash Thorn appeared in the hall and raised her eyebrow at the new comer her lips lifted into a half smile "Well, it seems you have made quite a scene in my guild hall. That is something you may regret!" she stated as her eyes gazed at the intruder. Thorn laughed softly as her friends told her of the figure lurking around observing the goings on and Dubhlainn seems to be questioning her. Thorn thought for a moment and stepped back out of the way of the battle. She would only become involved if truly needed. What Thorn did do though was have her roots curl around Dubhlainn bringing him next to her "Leave the new girl alone!" she hissed softly almost a whisper "We may need you here yet!".

“What are your affiliations with Lord Harrigan? From the moment you arrived here I had refrained from asking anything about your relationship with him but now I’m starting to wonder if that really is the case.” He walked over by her side to watch the battle unfold below.  For one Dubhlainn did find it suspicious for someone like her to become part of a guild with reference to Harrigan Crawford, on the other hand he simply just wants to know, he has not come into contact with his master for quite some time and to think that he sent someone like her to the guild, this was indeed a first.

In regards to Ardere coming to Savage Skull, there must have been a reason and from the moment Ardere said that something about interesting things in the guild. For what did Ardere find interesting about Savage Skull in particular that he had to come and challenge them here? Did he simply come in order to have a fight? No, there’s something more to it that Dubhlainn isn’t aware off, or was he just being paranoid?

He was after something and probably if he wins against the best fighters of the guild, he’ll have to declare and state his intentions, he’s concerned about what Ardere had to gain from coming here, if he had come here for a brawl then that would be the most illogical and unwise of decisions. Dubhlainn couldn’t find the time to ask him as Za’cha seemed reluctant to face off against the Guildmaster, Raiza followed shortly with interest.

“You don’t need to tell me the specifics; otherwise I’ll take my leave.” Of course he had to ask her all this, Dubhlainn has the right to know much about Rosetta as possible, becoming the Captain of the Guards he made it his priority to seek information, he didn’t like being kept in the dark but respect the fact that some words  are better left unsaid. Rosetta by far had not earned Dubhlainn’s trust regardless of who she is, answering his inquiry will surely draw his conclusion as to why Ardere could be here. It’s possible that someone could have leaked information about this girl, if not then it could have been the usual activities guild members have conducted.

Or could it be because…. Of their recent raid in Shirotsume that Ardere had to respond? But why did he go alone? Dubhlainn’s curiosity is not only focused on Ardere’s incentive but the existing fact that Rosetta came to the guild, for all she know she could possibly be a spy like the rest of those who dare set foot in this place.

“Thorn, I don’t take newcomers lightly nor must I remind you of the numerous spies and traitors our guild already have? I refuse to let people use Savage Skull as a disguise to cover them up whence they have no obligations to serving the guild.”

Indeed, he was cautious of Rosetta and she is by far the most suspicious, trust is something she has to earn from Dubhlainn even if Harrigan were to tell him off, he’s not taking any more chances, his guild was made a fool to one to many individuals and that humiliated him greatly as it was part of his responsibility. Perhaps investigating the guildmember’s motives was indeed priority for Dubhlainn, he worked so hard to get rid of the guild’s eccentrics and trained peons to act like soldiers and for it to just crumble by betrayal would be humiliating.

    It was pure mockery.
“I have no interest in fighting against the Guildmaster, Thorn.” Well of course he can’t expose his capabilities but that’s probably a trait that both Rosetta and Dubhlainn have in common.

A certain loyalty to Harrigan Crawford cautious and uncertain of the chances of loss or gain, both parties trust none but their master.

    Post by Za'cha Mon 6 Jun 2016 - 6:09

Za'cha smirked as the God Slayer tried to use his magic, as he had anticipated... but then frowned when it did trigger, even with the elements being swapped around through his Exquip's ability. "That, was not what I had in mind. Hmm." he mused as his blade clashed with the now ice shield wrapped around him.

The fact that the God Slayer's sword still held flame magic indicated that it wasn't a part of his magic... Once the clash was done, he used his armour's ability to fly to reposition himself quickly out of range of the over-sized weapon, although the blade did manage to catch him and cut deep into his armour.

"You've probably heard this before," called out the armoured mage as he regarded the massive fiery sword in Ardere's hands, "but are you compensating for something?" The fact that he was able to wield something that absurdly massive either indicated a lot of training, or it was a lot lighter in his grip than it would appear to be. That sword was going to be an issue, and soon enough he was going to be back to using his full range of fire magic... this was going to take some measure of redesigning his arsenal after this.

This was proving to be a very educational experience for him.

The Arrival of Flames (Open to SS) Empty Re: The Arrival of Flames (Open to SS)

    Post by Raiza Mon 6 Jun 2016 - 16:38

Raiza's mind was divided, both on the fact Dubhlainn left to go question an ally... while there was a fight going on. This greatly concerned Raiza for the fact of where Dubhlainn's thought process was. For being someone so tactical and militarized, would it not have clicked, if Rosetta was an enemy, she'd of made her attack on them all by now? Besides, if her story was true, having come from Lord Harrigan himself, that meant.... he was near.

The thoughts raced his mind, attack Dubhlainn now, and prevent a possible devastating outcome, or focus on the fight at hand. Right now, he rather not have to worry about such a choice, and luckily he didn't have to, and that was thanks to Thorn whom stepped into the fray to separate the two. While his fight was dragging on, Raiza was still looking to see exactly where to attack from. It seemed just judging by the H.U.D ability that Za'cha had taken a serious blow already. While Raiza would love to chain link his life to Za'cha, that option was really dangerous. He had other options to attack as well, but relying on such moves only meant a waste of potential mana until he got to see other attacks from this guild master. To show any more spells right now, would mean a danger to go up against them if one was on the cool down function of his gamer magic.

The other thought was to keep using his gun-sword, with a little twist. This time, rather than attacking with his spells, he'd use weaponry. Too bad this wasn't in the way Raiza wanted to be allowed to attack, yet he knew it'd be effective. More so, having two of his gun-swords meant another thing. "Za'cha, watch out". It was Raiza's first, last, and only warning as Raiza raised a hand and looked like he was tapping something in the air. While no one would see what, to Raiza he saw an entire game menu. Selecting his second blade, and doing a little cross work, he smiled. Really it was cosmetic to do it this way, yet he knew it might psyche the opponent out.

Once it was completed, Raiza had now a second gun sword appear from the air. Grabbing hold of it, now he'd be at least ready to go more assault as this time he no longer cared if his opponent saw how many rounds could be fired before it recharged. With this mind set, Both gun swords were raised up and with a finger on each of the triggers, Raiza pulled down unleashing a flurry of Bullets, in total fourteen were fired, aimed towards Ardere, being careful not to put Za'cha in the line of fire as Raiza began to run to the side while firing, and thus trying to strike Ardere's flank.

So you can throw me to the wolves

Swinging the massive blade of flickering flames across the armor of his opponent, he seemed to have landed a hit on the one known as Za'cha. Unfortunately, Ardere knew this would not be enough. Scanning the area, he now began to notice that more opponents had arrived, even if they were not attacking. The other man with the gun blade had taken it upon himself to come to the aid of his compatriot, a wise decision, but one that meant the fire mage would have to speed things up. Sorry, no time to dilly dally. Sliding back, he flung his cloak to cover his body, noticing that it was beginning to turn back into his chaotic black flames. These skull mages were going to give him a run for his money, but he could not allow them to take him out. Blocking several of the bullets fired at him, he began to notice his cloak was taking some serious damage from the flurry of bullets, so before it could be destroyed, he slammed his hands down onto the ground. Transferring a gargantuan amount of black, corrupt energy into the ground, it would be instantaneous as an explosion erupted in front of him. He had positioned himself back several meters so that this attack would still hit the man running to the side. It was highly doubtful that either of them would be able to dodge such an attack, as he was still somewhat close to them, especially Za'cha. And then, his cloak cracked and fell to pieces. One of the bullets went through his left arm, but due to his flame body it would pass right through before closing. Flame God's Secret Art. The black flames ripped apart a large portion of the area, turning the ground black with corruption, before disintegrating large sections of it. Fenrir. It was a very powerful attack, likely enough to draw out any of the other opponents waiting on the side lines, and perhaps even strike a part of the guild hall itself. His hand had completely gone black with chaos, causing him to shake a bit. Gripping his blade tight, Ardere did not let down his guard, even to his back. While some might have saw this as an opportunity to attack, he blade and his slayer senses would ensure that would not be the case. He had used up a good portion of his mana, prompting the brown haired Samurai to let out a whistle. Off in the distance, a little birdy would hear this whistle, and know that when the time was right, to come to his aid.

"I am a tool for the use of Lord Harrigan" was her only response. There was no other response required in her opinion and her gaze returned back to the battle. There was no sense in spending time explaining herself. She had not been authorised to reveal more and in her opinion there was no reason to do so. What use would it be to him? Besides, observing the battle against the enemy was more important. It would allow her to gauge her allies abilities and also get a more detailed report on Ardere. The likelihood of defeating him without Dubhlainn and Thorn joining the battle were low. Less than 20%. She might have no choice, but to join the battle. However, for now she would still hold back. Ardere seemed to not be going as all out as she'd expect and it did not seem that the other fighters were either. It was almost a friendly spar or appeared to be as such. The guild were certainly not living up to the term Savage. She could perhaps see why a weapon like herself was needed to make the guild strong again.

She dropped down into the courtyard landing in a crouched position and observed the fighter closer. The attack he had done most recently seemed to have done a lot of damage to the courtyard, but also seemed to have effected him somewhat. A double edged sword perhaps. Even without revealing her magical skill to completely eliminate this opponent she had no choice except to interfere in this battle now. To not do so would be to allow the guild to take further damage and if Dubhlainn did not intend to join the battle, nor THorn, then it seemed the only chance of victory was for her to join in.

She said nothing merely stood there for a moment waiting to see how Ardere would react to her arrival. Her magic power was compressed so she felt about the same as the other members present. Perhaps just slightly higher than an A rank, but not quite equal to Ardere. Enough to make her seem a valid threat, but not enough to scare him off immediately. She wondered if, being a childlike appearance, she would be mistaken for the famous child mage of Savage Skull. The undead queen, Sinali. If she was then this could be quite useful. After all, based on the records of the guild Sinali was about A rank in power. So her current power level would make that convincing. She was also famed for changing appearances. Yes, she would speak before the guildmembers had a chance to ruin the chance of disguise.

"Good morning Mister. My name is Sinali. Did you come to play with me?" her records had details of Sinali from Harrigan's memory including voice and she was mimicking it perfectly at the moment. The personality also seemed about right. It would be hard to tell she was faking unless you knew Sinali. Perhaps this would also let the others know to keep her identity secret for now.

And despite of that, it was hard to believe in such statement, a few said something similar to the case, as a matter of fact there was a reason why Dubhlainn would act like this. To the knowledge of the Pillar leaders, majority of Savage Skull has gone missing over the past months; their mages slowly began to disappear from their guild one by one leaving without any trace. Power had waned and ever since the defeat of the Lichborne it has always been like this, despite all efforts done, Savage Skull is still dying; many allies doubt the potential of the guild, deserters and traitors every now and then. If Dubhlainn was next on the list, Savage Skull will lose its integrity, that’s why he must protect it at the very least till it comes back to its former glory.

But if Savage Skull was expected to fall from decay much like Eclipse Soul, so be it…. Regardless he’ll have to pay his debt to Harrigan in some other way.
It seems her gaze was fixed on Ardere, it seems Ardere’s reserves might deplete after unleashing such attack but it didn’t seem like such he’s hurt that badly and even if Rosetta and Thorn were to come, Ardere would still have the advantage given that he’s a slayer.

Should he really come to the battle, or does he not deem himself worthy of a fight against a guildmaster? No it wasn’t that he wanted to fight, he simply refuses to reveal his abilities to him or his allies unless Harrigan commands him to do so. Hence it was time for him to exit the empty room, Thorn would most likely head off to assist her guildmates and probably protect rosetta which of course she taken priority to.

Where was Dubhlainn heading off to?

    The Catacombs…..

Give me your word my Lord....

I need to hear your words......

Ardere's last attack created a slight visual obstruction, and due to the intensity of his flames, the moist areas in the courtyard vaporized, however the strangest part was that the vapored mist was supposed to disappear even if one were to blow it off with air pressure given the case. Fortunately it sets the mood for Rosetta to come in and play and probably a chance for the Pillar Leaders to recuperate for a short while, given that they aren't dead anyways. Some blocks began to crumble a bit, the wood pillars were charred but remained standing, Ardere's fight has only begun.

Mystery is Infinite for as long as Ignorance remains...

Sacrifices must be made, the circle needs to be completed....

No he still refuses, his will and urge to fight, binded by chains...

A wild beast that had long been tamed

will unleash itself if his master called out his name...

Za'cha glanced back when his fellow Pillar warned him before taking flight into the sky, to allow the man a clear shot at the Infinite Hydra Guild Master. What he had been waiting for happened, and the God Slayer's magic returned to normal just as the bullets struck against the man. Of course that didn't seem to do much against his cloak of black flames except maybe tickle him.

At least in his interpretation of the events. But then came one of the God Slayer's Secret Arts. According to his research, the Secret Arts were among the Slayers trump cards, their most powerful moves and techniques... now what he found most interesting though, was the name of this particular technique that Ardere was using. He braced himself for the impact from this Fenrir of his, finding it curious that a Fire God Slayers move would be named after a beast from the North's ancient mythology. He would have expected Fenrir to be an Ice God Slayers technique name...

"Enough of the analytical commentary mortal!" growled the Dark Celestial Spirit of Pride from within Za'cha's mind. The silver haired mage smirked and chuckled. "Alright, alright. Can't help myself, it's how I work." he said, landing hard on the ground in the aftermath of the flames. He swiftly dispersed his armour before it could cook him anymore from the inside out than it had already begun to do so. This was going to take some doing... if the God Slayer was willing to bust out one of his Secret Arts to try and speed this fight up, then perhaps it was only fitting that he break out his own trump card.

He was about to trigger it when he blinked, stopping at the sight of a small little girl that he thought had vanished... someone claiming to be Sinali herself. He wondered how the Infinite Hydra Guild Master would react to the presence of the infamous undead child herself... even if it was a fake. Whoever they were though, it was a very convincing performance. But, being bonded with the Rider Of Death's own Scythe, and having met Sinali in the past himself... he could spot the difference.

    Post by Raiza Sun 12 Jun 2016 - 3:53

At first, Even Raiza had little faith with his magical bullets. However through time and effort he noticed that the guild master's cloak began to crumble. At least the base line defense was finally shattered. While Raiza could bask in that win of the moment, he noticed a red outline shoot out towards him. A danger zone indicator? Right! His H.U.D allowed him to know when something would explode or detonate. The power of the explosion would be unknown, and the range Raiza saw how far it reached behind Ardere, indicating he himself would not be able to dodge out of the way, not yet at least.

So, what was the most logical move? Well... nothing really. Raiza knew wasting mana to 'save' himself now would be pointless. The damage could be anything and he only had less than a second to thing about it. Had he not been using his 'in the zone' spell right now, he just would not be able to think of so many strategies all at once when this finally went down. If he could reduce even the spell just by a little, that'd be ideal. So, that was what he was going to do. However, it would not be this spell he would reduce. Not yet at least. He would have to charge a spell for later use anyways. However, even charging a spell now could waste mana. Checkmate was an easy option now too, especially to weaken this spell, yet to reveal that potential right now, was too... off setting.

Instead, Raiza allowed the move to take full effect onto him. The ravaging flames erupted through his body as a sinister laugh began to crackle all around him. The eruption taking place all through out the area, and all Raiza at this point was laughing hysterically. The laughter turned darker, less audible as a human, and more filled with death as the smoke cleared. Standing there now was Raiza - yet changed. His head now was a skull, his clothes looked as if they had a burning death effect. His mind though, was long altered as well. First off, he no longer saw in color, or rather... saw in normal at all. Yet rather, Raiza saw in 'energy' forms. Standing before him was a few, and near him were all other tinges of energy, all unique to their respective person. Even the person claiming to be one Raiza knew as the old pillar leader of Screams.

However, Raiza cared little, and had little intention to worry about those nearest him now. Only one in SS did Raiza love, or care for, and she was not in any danger. In fact, the idea of such a worry, made Raiza step forward, easily visable and holding both of his gun swords in hand. Both aimed dead at the flame god slayer's head. "From this point forward, I no longer am going to withhold myself like before. You're already unable to scratch me, so now... time for you to run or die. The odds are not in your favor already". Aura was already extending out as he was walking forward, causing death to even the air, causing it to become stale as he walked forward, and would keep walking forward until his aura reached Ardere, which would be exactly 20 feet from his body. However that was just a natural part of him now. What he did actively however was use his reaper's mind, to perform essokinesis, at least the passive version. simply walking forward he long decided to siphon 10 cubic feet of dirt from existence right under Ardere, however it was more wide than deep. The intention was to cause the fire slayer to 'move'. After all, right now. The sudden burst of mana drain was not to do much in terms of intimidation, but instead, open up a few new combinations to use. As well as show Ardere that Raiza was holding back the entire fight so far, and was ready to fight more.

Post by Ardere Kasai Sun 12 Jun 2016 - 14:26

So you can throw me to the wolves
    Tomorrow I will come back
    Leader of the whole pack
    Beat me black and blue
    Every wound will shape me
Every scar will build my throne

In the aftermath of the massive explosion caused by Ardere, he stood a good ten meters away from Raiza and about five away from Za'cha. The courtyard had been turned into a wasteland, this particular part of it at least. His enemies had not been beaten, but he at least knew the attack hit them. Whether or not they had blocked at the last minute, he had to gather that their bodies were hellishly aching right now. This meant for the moment he had the upper-hand, but whether or not he could capitalize on this was unknown. Unfortunately he did not have much time to think, as a new enemy had entered the fray. Narrowing his eyes, the guild master observed the young girl. Something was not quite right with her, but he could not exactly peg what that was. He had heard of Sinali before, and she was perhaps the strongest opponent on the field right now. While information about her was slim, all he needed to know was that she posed a clear and present danger. Not to mention after tanking his attack, the Pillar of Screams had activated some sort of aura attack, making blatant threats. It was quite frightening, but the Fire King did not allow himself to succumb to fear. Even if he lost this fight, he was going to do some serious damage first.

Letting out a slight sigh, he responded to the young girl first. He slowly slid back a bit as he noticed the aura coated man continuing towards him. The guild master imagined that whatever that aura was, it would be harmful to him in some way. I'm afraid not, miss. He felt the ground began to shift beneath his feet, and rather than jumping, due to the lack of strong ground to jump from, Ardere activated a spell. Blasting flames from his feet, he sent himself backwards. Flame God's Dash! This direction would be five meters backwards to avoid whatever had siphoned out the dirt beneath his feet. Arching his thick brown eyebrows, the fire mage activated a separate spell during his fleeing. Black flames encased his entire body, instantaneously reaching a height of 30 meters. The brown haired man's body was now inside of a massive suit of Samurai armor, with a blade reaching 25 meters in length. Flame God's Dark Arts: Imperfect Blazing God of Valor. Taking no time to let his enemies react, he immediately swung his blade at all of the opponents he could reach, then tossed in another quick swing just due to the fact that his armor could move as fast as he could. During this, he would also swing the ten meter long fire blade still in his hands. Sorry to break it to you, but I'm not going anywhere just yet.

Post by Rosetta Crawford Sun 12 Jun 2016 - 16:23

Her gaze swept over to Raiza scanning him and trying to assess what had happened. Had the skin been burnt from his flesh and somehow magic had sustained him? No, that didn't seem right. It was almost as if an illusion had been swept away. Yet she did not have much time to think as a huge armor of fire complete with a massive sword came forth and the blade swung at them. In order to aid the group she raised a hand as if to stop it and activated a spell known as impotence. The spell, was partially absorbed into her body and the damage was reduces. The liquid metal of her hand briefly exploded, but quickly reformed into a hand as an aura similar to that of the flames her opponent was wielding began to surround her body. The power of the spell was quite strong and so the aura itself was quite strong. She tilted her head and then part of her wrist slid open revealing a small opening and from it fired an anti-material beam of energy at very high speed.

As it was anti-material it would go straight through everything till it reached its max range. It was quite powerful being an S rank class spell. However, because it was a signature spell and due to how it worked it seemed relatively weak. It would probably, if compared to spells of other ranks it was closer to that of a B rank spell rather than an S rank. It was the ideal spell for hiding her true power though perhaps the Impotence spell might have revealed she was a bit more than an A rank considering it was an S rank spell. Still it would be rather useful as the battle went on as she'd receive a lot less damage.

"Mr. Ardere is that all you can do?" she asked tilted her head the other way her eyes scanning him as she activated a D rank spell to get a further assessment of his power and update her records. He was an S rank class mage and his aura was of black flames. By her records and by his own ommision of spell names he was an S rank flame god slayer. That made him weaker than her in terms of raw magic power and it also meant that combined the mages here should be more than enough to take him down. Still, should it be necessary she did have a few more tricks up her sleeve. "I'd suggest running away, but I don't let my toys escape. I only throw them away when they're broken." she giggled in a childish way. "Should I break you Mr.Ardere?"

    Post by Za'cha Mon 13 Jun 2016 - 15:16

Za'cha raised an eyebrow at the form that Raiza had now taken, the Spirit that lurked within the Scythe of Death chuckling softly at this Takeover magic of his. "So, a mortal's wielding the powers of one of my former master's minions?" she mused to his ears only, the spectral form of her humanoid self appearing in the silver haired mages vision. "Wait, one of the Rider's minions?" the Exquip mage asked before looking over at the power that Ardere was unleashing around himself.

"Well, that settles it then. The bastards made himself into a massive suit of fire armour, with a massive fire sword..." he said to himself, even as the sword swung around and struck against him. He had made no effort to dodge the Guild Master's blow, rather, he took it on purpose. As he forced himself back to his feet, he spat out blood, his face breaking out into a guttural snarl. "God Slayer, I think it's time you met the original owner of that title... in fact, the proginator of the title Slayer." he declared, pulling the pendant he kept around his neck and letting it take shape in his hand.

The small pendant erupted in a blaze of dark white light before revealing the form of a scythe, one which radiated with an ancient power that would perhaps send a chill up even the Flame God Slayer's spine. Za'cha's body began to become infused with the power of the Scythe of Death, his senses and reflexes sharpening to beyond peak condition in spite of his injuries and state. "Raiza, say hi to your boss." he quipped, the Scythe briefly glowing as if in greeting to the Reaper power wielding mage.

He then turned his attention back to Ardere. "I'm not even close to finishing yet." he said, his own magical aura flaring around him. "Pride's Aegis." invoked Za'cha, his trump card armour forging itself around him, radiating with a dark golden power as its effects took hold. He gave the Scythe a lazy swing before focusing his attention directly on Ardere's face. "Since I've pulled out the Scythe, I have no choice but to try and kill you. It's sort of her rule I'm afraid." he said, apologising to the Guild Master before he suddenly burst towards the man, the improved form of his body pushing him far past anything a human should be close to achieving.

The Scythe's powers put him into a physical condition beyond the best athletes in the world, and the Aegis improved him even further depending on how much damage he had taken... and he had taken quite a bit of punishment. As he got closer to the Guild Master, he would swing the Scythe, aiming for the man's spinal column. No armour, no flesh, no magic can deter a Weapon of the Apocalypse from its target, and what the Scythe targeted was bone. Break a man's spine, and they would either die or be paralysed... the real question now though was how would the Guild Master react to this turn of events?

The Arrival of Flames (Open to SS) Empty Re: The Arrival of Flames (Open to SS)

"Twix come on out", his words were as if law. His cloak began to tear as his pet began to emerge from his body. Large dark tendrils from Raiza's body radiated magical energy as well. It was obvious Raiza was lacking in motivation to even continue this fight. The way to continue it was to delay, so time to end it faster. Despite not wishing to reveal more besides his own magical power, Raiza had decided it was time to release the next restriction. One he dictated would never be used unless his health threshhold hit a certain limit.

His glance never changed away from Ardere despite Rosetta's words. However his hand clutched the gun sword he held tighter when Za'cha spoke up. Meet his boss? Such idiocy. Raiza had no boss aside from that of who he called Lord Harrigan. Even then the loyalty was questioned due to never meeting the man. Yet, it was a loyalty none the less. "Za'cha, I advise you once to refrain from making such an empty comment as that again. Know I descend from the reaper himself, not... his horsemen pupils. I am not a student, but rather a grand child of the same reaper used to slay the gods and demons. Do not make that mistake again or I may end up breaking that toy." Raiza's words sounded hollow, as if he did not even care about if Za'cha was on his side or not. In fact the aura would show malice towards even him too, no it wouldn't damage, but it would show Raiza was a little sour at that comment.

Now, still walking forward towards Ardere, Raiza would take note of the incoming blade and only begin to dash forward. Like hell he'd even start to worry about such a thing. His body even remained motionless as Twix's arms shot out from Raiza's body to stop it, only to be smashed through an then come colliding with Raiza himself. The blade however would pass through Raiza's energy based body doing damage to his health.. The distance he was gaining was intentional as the moment he was within range of that giant megaton armor of the fire king, Raiza would extend an arm out still holding the gun sword and trust the blade into it. Regardless or not, He would slice at the torso again with the second blade his skull face'd gaze staring at the king before him. His words were spoken quickly"Can you see... the time line of one's life like I can?". This was only to start destroying the man's strong armor as they were designed to shoot the burst of energy outwards away from Raiza himself. It would have been much more noteworthy to attack from afar, however at this point, Raiza was trying to install fear as that was his job as the pillar of screams. It would be noted, had the armor not been solid, and allowed his blades to pass through. Raiza would instead fire magical bullets as the blades passed through. Equal to that of two from each blade.

whether the collision of blade to armor happened to cause a dust storm or not, Raiza would have used his 3rd and last spell for this combination, and that was to teleport away using rogue's blink, leaving what appeared as a clone of Raiza still standing there with both weapons there. While Raiza himself was off in the distance, this time though despite having a body of pure energy, there was blood dripping from his body. Not from him, but from his pet the had a symbiotic relationship with him. Though to tell the blood between himself and it was too hard.
