Pulling up dark gloves over her slender fingers, Freya stared at herself in the mirror, making sure she looked decent to go out. Her hair was braided on one side as usual, fringe falling neatly over her thin, sharp eyebrows. A smug smirk crept onto her face as she admired her reflection, glad that she had chosen the right host for her disguise. A pretty face, fairly nice figure and a resting bitch face, much like the one she would have in her true form. Putting on her coat, the dark sorceress marched out of the inn, placing money on the counter before taking the exit that would lead her into the streets. She aimed to finish at least one job today, and if she could manage, maybe more than that. Wandering off into town, having no clue of where she would find a request board, Freya’s curious violet eyes darted from one place to another, concluding that standing in once place was not going to help. So she began to walk, in no particular direction. Some time later, she realised that she had been walking in circles, so she stopped. “I didn’t know Clover Town could be that confusing to navigate…” she mumbled in annoyance, deciding the best idea was to ask, even though she was not very fond of requesting assistance from such low lives. The first person she saw, she gave a lethal stare that caused them to tremble saying, “Direct me to the Request Board,” in a rather rough tone. The stranger shakily pointed in her seven o’clock. She whipped herself around and started walking in said direction.

Once she reached the board, she immediately snatched one of the easier jobs, since she had planned to take around two jobs that day, immediately turning around, already walking again. The job paper described that she had to do something as stupid as make a girl feel better about losing her goldfish. How stupid was that? Freya would never cry about losing a goldfish, you could literally just buy a new one. They all looked alike anyways so if you named your dead goldfish ‘Bob’, you could just rename your new goldfish ‘Bob’ and forget about it. Go on with your life. So these were the things she would have to tell the girl.

So off she went to the girl’s place, knocking on the door twice before breaking in since no one was answering. She straightened her outfit, then proceeded to check around the house, and on reaching one particular room, heard a sobbing noise. Ah, that must be it. Without another word, she walked in with a very fake smile, and a very fake voice that she used to say, “Hello there, child. I see that your pet is missing.” She sounded more like a stalker than someone who was here to comfort the girl.

Who are you? Get out of my house! I’m too sad to be talking to strangers!” the kid yelled in her face. Freya almost felt offended. A change of plans.

Why, I am Anubis, Goddess of Death, here to bear the bad news that your goldfish has died from a heart attack after realising how ugly its owner is,” she told her with the same fake smile and voice. The girl stood up in fear, shaking her head rapidly. “And so are you, but not from a heart attack, but from this.” Then Anubis would grab her head and jerk it in a way that would end her life smoothly. No blood, nothing nasty. “No tears, only dreams,” she bent down and whispered to the dead body that laid before her in a very awkward position and stepped out of the small house as she giggled. Job done. Anubis was satisfied.
