Kenji is has an caring personality this may come after he got disowned by his family after he told his parents that he is gay, which his parents didn't accepted since they are very religious people and he wants to care for people to make sure they don't experience the same loneliness he felt after he got disowned. After those events Kenji became more
cautious what he tells people in fear he doesn't get accepted by them whether it's about his sexuality or not. Even though he keeps his sexuality secret that doesn't mean he became a new person. He always was an happy and enthusiastic and encourages his friends in their plans for the future. Though this makes him set others on the first place and himself on the second place and many people have taken advantage from. When it comes to meeting new people Kenji can become a bit sassy since he want to test them to see if they can manage being with him this is a bit of a defense mechanism for himself after the events being disowned. Even though his homosexuality only has caused him grief he never hated it, since he knew it was a part of him. The thing that made him hate in the world after these events is that he hates people that are homophobic or as he likes to call them "Narrow minded pricks." If there is a thing in the world he loves the most is his older sister Misayo she still supported Kenji after he got banished from the family and still has contact with. She was also the person that encouraged him to become a wizard.
In battle Kenji likes to taunt his enemies with his sass to provoke his enemies to lose their focus and attack with rage since Kenji learned that fighting in rage can make the enemy more open for attack even though it can also be dangerous.. In battle Kenji tries to remain calm and collected so that he can think of an optimal strategy to defeat his enemies. As a leader Kenji likes to plan out an surprise attack since in his mind surprise attacks are the most optimal way of defeating the enemy though he always tries to have an plan B in case of emergencies. He always makes his followers well being as top priority. As a follower Kenji tries to ask their leader why he came up with this plan and gives suggestions on making the strategy more effective. Though in the end he won't question his leaders decisions since they have their own reason why he choose to plan the attack that way. He also carries his orders if he think it's the right thing to do Kenji is actually more of a follower then a leader since he is afraid he is too bossy when giving orders. Though he refuses to work with homophobes and he will act on his own accord when he has no choice
