    Binkov Bandera Empty Binkov Bandera

Post by Binkov Wed 11 Jan - 16:02

    Name: Binkov Bandera
    Gender: Female
    Age: 23
    Birthday: 03/29
    Sexuality: Straight
Special Characteristics: A large set of teeth marks--the result of an encounter with a bear as a child--dot Binkov's stomach and back vertically. Her choice of clothing usually leaves these teeth marks easily visible. She also has a circular, white tattoo on forehead which designates the village she hails from.

Personality: It doesn't take long in a conversation to determine a few things about Binkov. Most notably, it's often that she leaves behind the impression of a largely brusque woman. She's abrupt in her tone of speaking and doesn't mind swearing here and there, but she does try to cap foul language around those she most cares about in an emotional sense. She doesn't fret about confrontation, whether it's about a topic that must be discussed or a trivial character flaw that might annoy her. It can be granted to her that at least this way her friends can expect honesty--even if it's brutal honesty--from her. It can make her come off as much more aggressive than she is but she doesn't mind. The appearance of being tough is something she even works rigorously toward. It acts as her mental shield, or wall if you if will, to ward off any danger from her emotional hot spots.

Among those vulnerabilities hinted, Binkov is most concerned about her own redemption and goodness. In runs in contrast to her image as a bad girl but Binkov genuinely worries about the moral line she walks. While she may try to lean toward the side of good, circumstances and poor choices have often irked her the wrong way. It's forced her to consider whether she's actually a decent person or not which has driven her to take up the 'tough person' image she's currently adopted. Only when she has inadvertently hurt someone near and dear through her behavior does it evoke sorrow and lure her out of this facade. This reinforces the fact that Binkov has no desire to actually hurt anyone but does allude to her inability to think out the consequences of her actions. This more hidden spot of her personality is something she protects, as mentioned, and for good reason. It becomes a simple matter for even moderately cunning people to manipulate her if they understand just how soft she is on the inside.

Binkov takes a tribalistic approach to social groups. She is vehemently protective toward those she perceives as 'in' her group while holding everyone else in suspicion. This should be mistaken as innocent loyalty but should instead be interpreted as a general trust issue against people living in far different positions in life. After all, Binkov grew up in an environment that placed heavy emphasis on class divide and stereotypes of these classes often proved true in her experience. This has primed her mind for an 'us versus them' attitude toward relationships, which takes both positive and negative manifestations. As an example, she readily takes up arms against even slight threats toward her peers but her methods can easily border on the extreme. Some of these instances have resulted in Binkov's darker (and more violent) deeds in life, all of which she regrets to an extent.

Growing up in a land with so few resources, Binkov was often consumed by work with little time left over for leisure. Such a lifestyle has molded her to value a good work ethic in both principle and action. Combined with her extroverted personality, Binkov has a constant need to keep herself busy with something, especially if that something is productive. While it's true she enjoys occupying her time with conversation. but she would much rather be busy with a job of some kind. As long as it is not something lacking in movement like a reading from a text, a task can safely be expected to find itself completed under Binkov's watch. Furthermore, more challenging tasks are not at all taxing on her moral. On the contrary, they usually excite her.

Although she has a history of committing acts of violence during emotional bouts, Binkov does not enjoy fighting. Partially, it's because she's experienced the consequences of where violence leads, but it's also because she's aware of how reckless she is. She can become too occupied with her mode of attack while neglecting to defend herself or considering strategic approaches. Simply put, Binkov's a 'jump into the thick of battle' type of person when she's put into that kind of situation. This obviously makes her a pain to deal for those who would lead her into combat since she has noticeable difficulty paying attention to her surroundings or thinking too well in the middle of a fight. Conversely, she doesn't do much better as a lead either. It would probably end even worse since her plans would hardly be complex or well thought out.
    Likes:
-Winter: With winter comes snow and snow reminds Binkov of her homeland Iceberg. She does not exactly enjoy the cold, freezing parts of winter but the warmness of the nostalgia is a welcomed notion.
-Pine Trees: Pine trees, like winter, invoke a sense of nostalgia in Binkov. More than that, much of her adult life has been spent cutting pine trees down for a living. That makes the pine tree the most recognizable plant in her own little world.
-Cooked Meat: There's not a lot of options in terms of cuisine in Iceberg, leaving Binkov to become mostly accustomed to cooked meat (especially fish). Her love cooked meat has waned with her change in environment but it remains her favorite taste nonetheless.
    Dislikes:
-Heat: The world outside of Iceberg is much hotter. Binkov's first few few weeks in Fiore were marked by constant sweat on her clothes and a constant grogginess. Although she's more well-adjusted than she originally was, Binkov still has a loathing for the climate.
-Complaining: It shouldn't be a surprise that someone with a healthy work ethic as a core of their character would become adverse to complaining. Binkov thinks it a waste of time that wouldn't change circumstances anyway. Coming from others, she finds it especially annoying.
-Rule of Law: Binkov has enjoyed a life in which her own king has paid very little attention to her village. In that way, she's had little experience with an otherwise functioning government that strictly imposes its laws, such as Fiore. It's not unlikely that Binkov will occasionally ignore her new country's laws (the less important ones anyway) if only out of a force of habit.
    Motivations:
-Sense of Belonging: Due to harsh circumstances, Binkov has become a vagabond which doesn't bode well for someone afflicted with tribalism. She has no place to truly call home anymore and longs for the feeling of belonging to a group once more. That group could easily be a set of friends, an organization, or some sort of community.
-Home: Binkov has committed crimes she'd rather not have. For obvious reasons, she exiled herself from the village she did the deeds. Despite, she wants to return home but is aware it would be difficult. Her return would depend on some kind of redemption or a great enough influence that her village would pretty much have to accept her back.
-Self-Improvement: Binkov would prefer it if she could come off as more friendly than she currently is. Her instinct to protect herself often gets in the way of this however, but the desire lies in the back of her mind nonetheless. She'd like to appear less aggressive, less gruff, and just generally more like-able. It's not for the sake of being liked, mind you, but because she believes it would make her a better person to come out of her rough shell.
    Fears:
-Harming Friends: Someone like Binkov is naturally protective of those she cares most for. Her history in ensuring the well-being of these people against harsh environments is good, but what few failures persist in her life can be attributed to her own actions. She's lashed out and physically attacked those she loves in bouts of irrational behavior and bad choices. The fear that she could repeat those mistakes persist today.
-Bears: Binkov had a run-in with an abnormally large bear as a child, and the encounter left mental scar (along with a physical one) on her that associates bears with fear and pain. She won't outright cry if she see one but they definitely make her uneasy.
-Desierto: It's not the government or the strange culture of Desierto that frightens Binkov. It's the country's geographical location that does. The tales of a scorching hot desert play off of her regular dislike of heat and turns it into an actual fear of a land that sounds like a living hell to her.

    General Appearance

    Height: 5’9”
    Weight: 148 lbs
Hair: Burgundy red, styled in an uneven gibbous cut in the front to pull off a punk rock look. The crescent on the front reaches down as far as her mouth while the hair on the back of her head sprouts down to the nape of her neck at the most. Despite what anyone might think, Binkov does not dye her hair.
    Eyes: Brown
Skin Tone: Partly light, partly tanned.
Appearance: Binkov's body immediately gives away what kind of life she has led. With note-worthy muscles to support her upper body strength, it becomes apparent she has physically worked hard for extended periods of time (specifically, from logging). The lower portion of her body's muscles are almost as toned from excessive amounts of lifting and carrying heavy amounts of wood. If one were to judge from the appearance of her body frame, it would be easy to mistake her for a mercenary rather than a wizard.

Her face is long in shape, with a pointed a nose and chin. Her jawline is reasonably well-defined but her small lips can hardly be noticed, especially when she refuses to dab herself with lipstick of any kind. The ears are a bit small but were often subject to cold bites in Iceberg and, before arriving in Fiore, were usually covered by a hat to protect from the freezing snow.

The tone of Binkov's skin is a special point of interest. Having come from Iceberg, her skin was originally very pale but her time in Fiore has darkened her up (at the cost of many sunburns thus far mind you). If someone really wanted to observe what her skin originally look like, they would merely need to wait for the occasions that Binkov wears something radically different than usual to find large tan lines. Her legs are particularly pasty.

Finding the heat in Fiore extreme in comparison to her homeland, Binkov dresses light on the upper half of her body. Her favorite choice of wear would be her signature black, leather jacket that has some similarities to a biker's jacket. However, hers lacks sleeves, exposes her stomach, and is low-cut enough in the front that the edges of her bra are often visible. The front possesses two large buttons on the front that crisscross whilst the back has a long collar that reaches up the neck.

Gloves are one thing Binkov hasn't abandoned since travelling to Fiore for practical reasons. Her favorite pair are a set of leather black black with white fur on the inside and buckles on the outside. Taking these off, one would feel they're looking at the hands of two different people. The left hand would look fine, if not a little rough, while the right hand would be covered in bruises on the palm--a side effect from her work with magic. To reduce bruising, Binkov has become accustomed to wearing a blood-red handkerchief tightly around her right arm.

To compensate for the rough environments Binkov finds herself, she chooses to ignore the heat for the sake of protection when it comes to leg wear. Her favorite style is a specific brand of jeans that are much thicker than regular and far less apt to being worn down. They're usually dark in color and tend to tuck nicely into the cuff of her long boots (also dark in color).
