A mothers touch?

Kakuma didn't really know what to do, she had gotten a request to be trained in magic... from her own son. son... that word still made her uncomfortable, but she needed to be better, not only with her son but with the guild as well. Kakuma sighed and got dressed, she had been sitting on her bed completely naked. Kakuma chose a BRSTG combat suit, she figured it would be better for training reasons. She headed out to find Rumila, her child and the child of Marshal... Kakuma sighed... she had not been able to face him after everything that had happened.

"So damn Immature..."

Kakuma was unsure if she was talking about herself or not, she had alot of growing up to do and she damn well knew it.

Ruminal woke up the next morning feeling a little more tired then usual. He couldn't sleep a wink last night knowing that in the morning his own mother was going to start training with him. He's been in this world for a little while now and hasn't had much quality time with her as he had hopped but its understandable to him with all things considered. She was the guild master of this fine guild and that in its self keeps her pretty busy. He slowly crawled out of bed and got himself dressed wearing his usual Kimono that he has several sets of and did some morning exercises to help get his blood flowing and wake him up a bit. He did some push ups, squats, and some stretching exercises to help limber himself up.

After he was done Ruminal made a dash out the door in search of his mother and see if she was awake yet. It was still early in the morning, the sun had barley started to show itself over the horizon. Most people were probably still sleeping at this hour and here Ruminal was running through the hallways. Ruminal quickly realized that he was most likely making a bit of a racket and waking people up so he slowed down to a fast walk. He looked over his shoulder to see if someone would look out one of there doors or something but from what he could see everything was fine. As he came up to his turn down another hallway he was still looking back making sure no one had gotten woken up when he ran into someone who happened to turn down the hallway he was on his way down. "Whoa!" He somewhat yelled in surprise. "Sorry didn't see you there."

Kakuma was in her own little world that she didn't notice the footsteps or scent of anyone else, well not until someone nearly bowled her over. Kakuma stopped herself from falling over and looked at the culprit.

"watch where your going Rumi."

Kakuma didn't really know how to act, hell she didn't even know how Ruminal felt about her. She had not been ready for children and when her and Marshal had their falling out she didn't handle it so well. Thankfully her mother had been there for her but this had cost Ruminal the short end of the stick, she had only just met her son recently and it bugged her. she wanted to scoop Ruminal up and hug him with all her might, show him she loved him but she would not be surprised if he hated her. She stood unsure of what to do for a few second before giving into her want, she scooped him up in her arms and hugged him.

"good morning... my son." the words felt odd but right, Kakuma could get used to this. "lets get some breakfast." She waited for him to respond before heading off, refusing to set him down.

The person Ruminal walked into was non other than his own mother. She seemed mad at first, understandably so, but then suddenly after a few moments of silence while Ruminal was apologizing she grabbed him and lifted him  up off his feet. The notion was so sudden that it caught Ruminal by surprise signified by him making a rather loud yell "Ah!"

"Good morning... My son." she said soon after. "Uh... Morning?" he replied a bit confused where this came from all of a sudden. Its true Ruminal didn't know his mother to much only after meeting her a few months back and haven't had much time to talk to her yet but this situation just seemed.... Odd to Ruminal. "Lets go get some breakfast" Kakuma said still holding Ruminal up in her arms. "Uh, sure but first.. Mind putting me down now? Before someone see's us preferably?" He said face red with embarrassment while also looking around some more hopping someone isn't looking. Its true Ruminal was still a child and shouldn't be embarrass by this but being the young scholar that he is, it would be most accurate to say he's a teenager trapped in a child's body.

Kakuma was a bit hurt by the fact Ruminal would not let her have her way, but she could not blame him. She set him down, her ears flat as she did so, she quickly recovered trying not to let her disappointment show. She lead the way down to the main room where she entered the kitchen and made some food. She didn't really speak much as she did, she was deep in thought about how she had messed up. She found herself hoping for another child simply cause she want to have a chane to be "mommy". Kakuma ate quietly as she thought about all she wanted, not really paying much attention to Ruminal or even anyone else in the room. Kakuma finished and sighed as she did.

"So... what do you think of me?"

Kakuma put her son down feeling a little disappointed, suppose Ruminal couldn't blame her for feeling that way. Here they were mother and son and they new very little about each other. Ruminal spent the rest of the time thinking how this must look from Kakuma's perspective. She was very busy when it came to the guild and then here comes a child thrown in the mix. She probably wasn't ready for a baby which would explain why Ruminal spent his life with his grandmother thus far. Even after coming to get to know his birth mother. There first encounters were mostly of business and awkward silences. "Guess she doesn't know what she's doing. This is a whole new experience for her." Ruminal thought to himself.

While they ate there breakfast Ruminal was trying to think how they could bond better but was hard with all thinks considered. Before long Kakuma finally broke the silence between them. "So... What do you think of me?" she asked. A question not easily answered. Ruminal didn't want o hurt her feelings but what else could he say? "I... Don't know exactly. I can tell your dedicated to your work, and that your trying your best to get to know me. But as it stands we know little to nothing about each other. So the best thing I can think of is to start there. For example, What are your hobbies?"

Kakuma looked at Ruminal as he started speaking, her face blanking as he explained some things. Kakuma's frown deepened as he went on, she didn't want to have to play 20 questions just to get to know her son, she should know by raising him. Now Kakuma understood what her mother had said about regretting it. Kakuma simply sighed and shook her head.

"Sorry but... this just feels odd, i should know you better then just about anyone... and here we are perfect strangers..."

Kakuma was suppressing tears at this point, she didn't know what to do, first marshal had left her and now she had let her son be raised by another. Kakuma hid her face for a second and composed herself completely, not letting herself fall apart. 

"Its fine its my fault your not to blame at all, while im your biological mother, your grandmother is the one whom you call mom."

Kakuma had suppressed her emotions and switched to pure logic, not something she did often, it showed a side of her most people didn't get to see. Kakuma finished eating and stood up, picking up her tray as she did.

"Ill be in the courtyard waiting, when your ready we will begin your training." Kakuma blinked and turn to walk away. Kakuma walked to the courtyard, her back to Ruminal, she let a tear fall that she wiped away quickly. She had to train him to be a good fighter, so he could go back to Fenris and show he could fight well. She would do what she could for him.

Ruminal was saddened that Kakuma didn't want to spend some time to get to know each other even a little. He was starting to think that maybe it was a bad idea to come here. Maybe he should have just stayed in the Dark Celestial spirit realm, but this little setback wasn't going to be Ruminal's last chance at this. He was determined to see things through. He wants to get to know her one way or the other. Maybe the right moment just hasn't presented itself yet. Many wise warriors say its best  to strike at the most opportune moment so maybe that can apply to their situation as well.

After Kakuma was finished eating her breakfast she stood up and said "Ill be in the courtyard waiting, when your ready we will begin your training." Ruminal looked down at his plate, he still had a bit left to eat and started to finish up his breakfast. Once Kakuma was out of the room he laid down on the bench of his table with a sigh. "This is not how I thought this morning would go..." He thought to himself. He began to think about how the rest of his morning would possibly go. It was then that it hit him, they say you don't truly know someone until you fight them. Maybe these training sessions is just what they needed to get to know each other.

Ruminal finished eating his breakfast and quickly took care of his plate before meeting Kakuma outside in the courtyard. He stood at the ready for whatever it was that they would be doing for training this morning. "Ready when you are." He said waiting to hear what she has planned. Was then Ruminal wondered exactly how she would train him... Would she be the type that focused on physical training, master the basics before taking the next step or focus more on mental training, mind over matter like Ruminal preferred. Either way Ruminal was determined to learn in more ways then one.

Kakuma looked at Ruminal as he entered the area, she had already set up a illusion, she smiled as he walked into the radius of her "training area" she used a bit of magic to cause the surrondings to change into that of the Dark CS realm. She knew it was not the real place but she didn't know if he would feel the differance, she had put alot of effort into it. 

"So... we shall start by fighting some of that which we know best."

Kakuma motioned with her hand and a Zrilka burrowed out of the ground, Zrilka were had magic resistant shells but were weak on the bottem where they was no shell. Usually one would simply use a heavy blunt weapon and bash in the shell, but today Ruminal had to show her what he intened for his new magic.

"Show me what you want for your magic, manifest it into your future."

Kakuma was waiting patently for Ruminal out in the courtyard and it seemed she added some "decorations". Ruminal saw she put up some kind of illusion around the courtyard to make it look more like the Dark Celestial Spirit Realm. She must have thought Ruminal would feel more comfortable in a familiar environment and she was right. It wasn't home but with this he can feel a touch of it, and the view was amazing.

"So... We shall start by fighting some of that which we know best." Kakuma said before motioning her hand around. A Zrilka started burrowing its way up from where Kakuma motioned her hand at. Ruminal knew Zrilka's had shells that were very magic resistant but other wise weak in about every other aspect. "Show me what you want for your magic, manifest it into your future." Kakuma finished saying before leaving the rest to Ruminal.

Ruminal had no idea what to do, he came to her for training for that reason. He felt like he had to try to do something, anything. The beetle was standing there waiting for Ruminal to make the first move so he raised his hand and tried to focus on what he felt he should do. He dug deep within himself trying to find his center, it was there he felt something like a pull deep in his stomach. He began to focus on that feeling and tried to draw it out, the more he did the more he could feel something happening. He could feel his magic power raising as if something was aiding him. Ruminal opened his eyes to see if Kakuma was doing something but she was just standing there and observing. Where was all this power coming from?

Was then the Ruminal focused this power onto the beetle and unleashed what he had. Stone particles began to form like a swarm around the beetle to the point it looked like a small controlled sandstorm. By the time it settled the Zrilka was covered head to toe in solid stone but it didn't have any trouble moving whatsoever. What did that spell just do? It seemed like it gave the beetle a skin of stone for some extra defense. Ruminal looked at his mother with a bit of a confused face and then began to explain everything he just went through as best he could.

Kakuma didn't know what to expect she had set up a field that would draw out his power, she wanted to see what would happen if he put his mind to it. Kakuma watched as the creature's already hard shell became stronger. Kakuma smiled and walked up to the bug.

"I see so your ment to use a support type magic."

Kakuma rapped on the shell of the fake bug, which clicked at her despite being fake. Kakuma sighed and dispelled her little illusion and the bug as well. She turn to Ruminal and smiled again.

"I will serve as your target now. and we can do some stress testing as well so go ahead, I want you to focus your magic and imagine the earth doing something."

Kakuma had assumed that he was a earth magic user at this point, so didn't know what else she had in store.

Kakuma wanted to be the focus of Ruminal's magic now but he didn't feel good about this choice. What if he hurt her? Sure it wasn't likely but what if by chance he did? Nevertheless he tried to repeat what he did the first time and focused his magic and tried to find his center.  This time around he tried to focus the energy a little differently, He tried focusing it even harder then before and to compress it. His body was creating a small breeze or rather it seemed to be coming from around him and blowing outward. Once he felt like he had enough he raised his hand towards Kakuma and targeted her for what was about to come next.

Ruminal released what he had and some transparent like began to form a round Kakuma. It twisted and turned, compressing itself around her before exploding into little like glitters around her as they fell to the ground. There was a moment of silence as both of them wondered what exactly just happened. "You feel any different?" Ruminal asked confused. Maybe whatever that was suppose to do didn't work. Was then Ruminal began to feel a little dizzy. He sat down to try and cope with it and began to breath as if he just ran a mile. "Maybe I over did it a bit? Or perhaps I didn't put enough energy into it." Ruminal concluded.
