Petty thieving [Job/Solo]

The shadow wizard made her way down darkened, deserted street of the particularly peaceful village. It brought her a little wave of nostalgia really, the quiet midnight, closed shops, black windows. The place was familiar as was her task, someone wanted something stolen and she wanted the reward. Despite the familiar presence of the village her memory was failing her and so was the imaginary road map which was supposed to be taking her to her task. Famine spent quite some time scuffling around in circles, lost in pace and thought. She took rather slow steps around the corners of the roads. She had no idea when she was going so she might as well take her sweet time.Her task was an easy enough, steal some guys recipe, pass it off, ect ect ect...

With a given strike of luck Famine broke her circle and stumbled onto a path she’d hadn't been. Azure hues scanned the environment. It seemed to be a town center of sorts. The buildings were set up in a circular form centering a fountain and upon passing the mage flipped a coin into it. Her wish, uncertain.

Famine stopped a moment, withdrawing a crinkled page from her side. She pressed her back against one of the cobblestone homes as she unraveled the sheet, reviewing the address.

She murmured the text to herself again, eyes slowing to a stop as she reviewed the short assemble of numbers and street address

The mage let out a slight 'tch' upon reading the note. Famine now had an idea as to where she was going and if she recalled it wasn't far from the library. She shifted her course north. eventually she would find her way.

Famine located the building which the address on the sheet belonged too and a sigh of relief wafted out from her lips. The wizard crept up to the wall in the left most alleyway of the building so to stay out of sight. There she listened closely to try and see if anyone was inside, or at least making any noise. She detected the faint noise of a door being open and shut followed by the rolling clatter of a cart just inside. Famine stayed quiet a little longer. Gingerly, she rose herself to the window where she spotted a custodian inside the bakery. Famine sunk back down. Now, she knew she had to proceed with caution. The guild master crept around the outside of the structure knowing it was far too risky to search from the inside. She checked around the windows for any that may have been left unlocked she found one just as quickly as she had began her search and hopped inside an office-styled room. Soundlessly, Famine crept around in the unlit corridor all until she spotted something that interested her. Standing in the corner of the room was a filing cabinet.

Remaining at a crouch, Famine scuttled over to the filing drawers. She gingerly reached for the handle. Through the opening beneath the door she detected a sudden shadow. The door knob then began to turn. The thieving wizard quickly looked around for a place remain out of sight. Famine hurried and hid behind the desk. Peering out from underneath her her hiding place she caught sight of a man walk in with a broom. The guild master grimaced hoping the custodian didn't plan on taking hours sweeping up the room.

Given a few soundless minutes they paced and swept up the place without taking notice of the mage in the shadows. Only when they were gone did she release her held back sigh. She tip-toed back out from beneath the table towards the cabinet and pale fingers reached to open it once more and with the quiet creaking of it’s wheels the heavy drawer pulled open to
Reveal a cluster of alphabetically sorted files. Her fingers danced through the filtered paging, stopping at the letter F. F for Fudge

And she grabbed the first folder she saw, the one with the big red [CLASSIFIED] stamp. There was but only one thing inside when  she opened it… a three by five notecard with a list of ingredients.This had to be it. Placing the now emptied folder back in place, the shadow mage slid the cabinet shut just as quietly as she had opened it. Card in hand, she exited back through the window.

She arrived at the client's residence later. looking  up at the door once or twice she then elected to  hitting it two or three times. She waited impatiently. Just as she was about to knock again it creaked open slightly held back by a chain lock. The resident peeked through the door looking up at her as if to say 'what do you want?' In response Famine waved the job request, recipe card in her hand along with it. They must of gotten the message because the door shut only to be unlocked and opened again. The stranger put her reward cash in her hands swiping the file before slamming the door shut. ‘tch’ Famine rolled her eyes. There was nothing she could do about people like him that couldn’t handle a petty thieving on there own…. For now at least. Her new world would come.
