    Job Details:

    Several hours ago…

Up on the roof of the building lies two figures hidden in shadow, they were mercenaries, one was a man and the other was a woman. Down the streets below, a flood of people dressed appropriately for the wedding, gossip and excited about the union between Mr. and Ms. Goldstar as a happy married couple.

The female mercenary was named, Natalia Kaminski, a former member of the Hyena’s that used to threaten the Black Rose Guild, the male was a retired member of a mirai military task force named Dubhlainn Du lac. On this day, they had not come to attend the wedding but to look for the very man that took a huge loan from one of the most authoritative figures of the Neutral Grounds, Degardo, who was a politician and a crime lord.

“It must be so nice to get married to a man.” Natalia chuckled as she took a cigarette and later blowing a puff cloud out. Apparently this person has not paid Degardo back what he owed and so Dubhlainn was sent to seek out this person, however by the time Dubhlainn came to the residence of the one who owes the loan, they were already gone, leaving behind a letter that states a wedding being held in Black Rose soon.

The reason why Natalia is here because she’s been invited by the people she befriended months ago. Natalia was the one who actually bought the cake to the wedding and delivered it herself, having heard of Dubhlainn’s pursuit she decided to help him.

“Heh, I feel so sorry for the guy who you’re after, he doesn’t know what’s coming to him.”
“He will pay… and if he does not, I’ll force the man to pay up.”

Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay Empty Re: Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay

Post by Reisha 30th May 2016, 2:28 pm

Reisha wasn't dressed all that fancy. After all, she despised fashion almost as much as she despised political games her family was so in love with. But then again, she wouldn't dare to stand in the way of the braid's happiness. Not after having seen how sweet of a person she truly is. So... she adjusted.
'Let's go, Terith', she said to a young man that was standing right next to her. 'We wouldn't like to be late. Especially if that fiend is already around, lurking in the shadows and waiting for a possibility to ruin this beautiful wedding.'
They hadn't know each other for all that long before they decided to take this job. It all happened a few hours ago on the spur of a moment ago when she was standing in front of the job board placed next to a fancy tavern. Terith walked up to her and was quite interested in the description of the job she had been staring at for quite some time already. A wedding. A young couple had just gotten engaged, ready to hire somebody to see through their ceremony's happy ending.
Since Reisha's battle experience was rather limited, she thought it would be a good idea for somebody to join her on that job. Luckily Terith also seemed pretty excited, or at least that was the impression she thought she'd seen on his face before they split up for a few hours to prepare for the task.

She grabbed his arm with one hand while she used the other to lift up her peach frill dress a little, just to make sure no bigger dirt particles were making it to the ceremony with her.
'And by the way, I am glad you decided to join me.'
Reisha smiled while they were approaching the cathedra, completely stunned by the size of the event. Townspeople took a lot effort to make that wedding as whimsical as it could possibly get, young redhead didn't doubt it for a split second.

How he managed to find a suitable garment for the occasion was his own problem, as it seemed like a grim memory for his pockets. It's not that he had stolen it, rather, he wouldn't mind forgetting the effort he went through just to borrow a clean suit.

But Terith picked at his tie for the umpteenth time, tightening the folds around his neck just to prompt a sense of satisfaction that despite the squandering for loans, he still managed to fit formally into the wedding. Perhaps it could be considered something of note, like a small achievement.

Then he heard her call his name and now that fact was all a forgotten cause. He nodded accordingly, rolling his thumb over the sash that attached his blade to his back.

His partner for the evening was a woman, Reisha, to be perfectly precise. A job hunt with nothing in his pockets had cornered him once and by the gods, considering how difficult the job seemed at first, he was glad she found it of interest as well.

Reisha tugged at his arm as she lead their way through the crowds that gathered at the mouth of the silver cathedral. The size was commendable, and the elaborate scheme of a wedding was so much that in his eyes, everything, and everyone, seemed to shine.

Well, it was one thing to be called Goldstar, this was essentially going all out. He could only blink back in awe, the light caught in his eyes.

"And by the way, I am glad you decided to join me."

Terith pursed his lips for a moment before forming a hesitant smile. "I should be the one saying thanks, actually."

He didn't have the slightest clue of what to expect, nor did he find any logical reason for a man to be so caught up with his past that he was willing to fight brutally for it. Who, in the right mind, would want to thrash things to and fro in hopes of a better outcome?

Nobody. Exes are as crazy as they get, but this guy had some serious mental issues.

Terith sighed inwardly, "That guy's an idiot if he thinks he can achieve something by crashing this wedding."

He glossed over the smiles that spoke for themselves, observed the antique chandeliers and the curling steel over the colored glass windows, how people came in with a lacy invitation between the spaces of their fingers. And as he watched from the distance, he felt a beckoning warmth that edged him further into his responsibility.

Yeah, this man was definitely crazy. And they were being paid to make sure he wouldn't go full idiot, to make sure everyone's safe and happy. Honestly, it wasn't so bad.

Natalia chuckled. “Just don’t make me regret inviting you over.” Natalia spoke as she puffed another smoke.

“For what purpose have you befriended one of the most popular entities in the Rose Garden, if I may ask?” Dubhlainn placed a foot on the safety railing as he look down the guests attending the wedding.

“The wife of Goldstar turns out to be one of my former lieutenants back when I was still part of the Hyena. I thought she died from the explosion but ever since then, she lived a normal life for the sake of her friend who had saved her. If you ask me I think neither the fiancée nor the ex was aware about this.”

“So why did she feel the need to hire bodyguards if that were the case?” Dubhlainn took Natalia’s small telescope, scanning the area for suspicious enemies.

“She didn’t want to take action and if she did, it would reveal to Goldstar and her old flame of her capabilities, you know how we underworld people operate these days right? The moment someone realizes you’re a professional fighter is the moment you’re most likely to get targeted.” That much is true, many mercenaries had exposed their identities as fighters, as warriors as assassins and professional soldiers, as actions would speak louder than words, these would lead to serious consequences.

Course only those who had lived a life in the underworld know what it is like and knew the risk.

“So what value does she have?” Dubhlainn put away the telescope and started to walk towards another corner of the building.

“She has information on Merlin’s enemies.” The moment her sentence ended was the moment Dubhlainn stopped dead in his tracks. “His… enemies?”

Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay Empty Re: Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay

Post by Reisha 31st May 2016, 3:38 pm

Reisha never thought she would be that happy to be able to attend a wedding. Not that she didn't believe in the institution of marriage. It was just that the very idea of a huge town-wide event such as that one was causing anxiety in her. It was one of her few fears - and pretty much the only one that she'd never fully understood - fear of huge gatherings of people she usually barely even knew. It was a strange feeling, rather unpleasant, especially since all the other things she would call 'scary' were all easily described, real life situations.

This time however she didn't find the scenery unsettling, not in the slightest. And she wondered why that was...

And she would probably kept on thinking about it while looking at the gorgeous braid being walked down the cathedral's aisle by her father, only if it wasn't for the very interesting picture she could see through cathedral window.

A group of young men was approaching the building. They were lead by a guy that was quite obviously extremely displeased with the fact wedding was taking place, and that he wasn't the one getting promised love in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. The big wince on his face was more than self-explanatory in this case.

Reisha softly elbowed the gentleman next to her and nodded towards their unwelcome guests.
'It's time.' She took a deep breath.

While they were slowly walking towards the group, she was going in her head through every fighting scenario should think of, although she knew it wouldn't be of much help anyway. After all, it was clear to her that they are mages just as Terith and Reisha. Possibly stronger in terms of raw power - and quite likely much more experienced.

The two young mages walked out of the cathedral, Reisha holding tighly to her dress read to make use of her Re-Equip magic to change outfits in the blink of an eye. She would like to talk to them first, considering fighting to be their last resort. For some reason though she wasn't able to say anything.
She just stood there looking at the group of violent young men ready to make the newlyweds' life a hell on earth. She felt her anger growing with every single second and she knew it wouldn't be long until that accumulated rage started to take over.

Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay Empty Re: Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay

Post by Terith 1st June 2016, 3:35 am

Terith dug into his pockets momentarily, an action that ensued as the atmosphere shifted into something restless. There was no longer an interest to watch the passage of the matrimony as the swordsman forced his focus to the door.

    "Soon..."
    he mumbled, "They'll be coming."

He realized that as he did so, the bride slid past his vision, a white elegance that caused him to stare for a few seconds longer. Though he honestly couldn't hold a candlestick to a real poet, he was so sure that he could compare her to one of the most delicate of lilies as she somehow looked like she was floating down the aisle.

An ache caved in on his chest as he seemed to recall something, the hole resembling an undone seam that was left by a nearly broken promise. What did he have that involved a wedding?

There was no time to contemplate on that, however, as he felt a small pressure at his side that slowly brought him down from his thoughts. Terith coughed a bit in embarrassment as he must've been staring for an unjust number of seconds, his partner already making her way towards the entrance.

Right, they had a job to do.

In an attempt to not cause a disturbance, he takes a small detour by the time they reached the entrance. He whispered a bit to the minister who stood near the threshold.

"Listen, it's going to get a little noisy, so I need you guys to close the doors." He gave the minister a pleading look, "This is for everyone, as I doubt the job will come down...peacefully. Please."

With that, the old minister requested that the doors be shut without so much as a hesitation, something the young man greatly appreciated. He immediately caught up with Reisha as he broke into a sprint, readjusting his sword's position so the handle faced downwards. His hands were now neatly tucked behind him, one hand held unto the blade's handle, to serve a distinct purpose that he knew was greatly advantageous.

The strong chilly wind seemed glowered at the men that gathered there, their black coats fluttering off in a tell-tale sign of dispute and trouble. As the doors shook in a firm lock, voices were raised, along with a few eyebrows. Terith gave them a passive smile.

    "No intruders allowed."

One of their brutes seemed to take this offensively and had charged himself directly at him, crumpling his perfectly immaculate dressing shirt into a bundle of white mess under a sweaty palm.

"Talkin' sh*t, are we pretty boy? Ya better open them doors or yer' losing an eyeball!"

"If you want in, I need to see an invitation. That goes for you and all your croonies."

A vein seemed to visibly throb inside the man's head as he stared back at Terith with a gritted jaw. He raised one bulky fist as his grip Terith only tightened. "Not here ta' play games with ya, got that? Or maybe ya' outta have it nudged into that small head o' your's!"

The air around him whipped violently as the brute raised his arm even further, a bulky fist aimed directly at his face. Taking that as a sign to commence, he drew his blade from his sheathe, the blade sliding through so fluidly due to it's position that allowed him to further enhance its momentum.

His speed was proven to be a lot faster than the brute's, with Yamanbagiri's handle hitting his jaw first before his fist ever did. The sudden force had the henchman on shaky steps as blood slid from his mouth. Terith took that short second to force his handle into the man's chest, feeling the impact against his rib bones that came with an audible gasp.

    "Khh!"

Without a sign of better judgement in sight, Terith made a drastic kick at the man's vital regions with the pointed portion of his shoe. Some form of pity had masked his smile as he watched the brute doubling over before slowly loosing his footing and falling ungracefully, his face crumbling into a sweaty, red mess.

And as he fell, Terith could see the expressions of his comrades change from shock to pure, unparalleled rage.

Terith spun the sword in his palm simply to make sure the tip was properly pointing outwards. When he was satisfied, he gave the wedding crashers another passive smile.

"So...gentlemen, I assume all of you don't have any invitations...so these doors are remaining closed."

In the pits of his mind, a plead resonated towards the spirits laying idle in his head, urging them to heed his call. And as he did so, he noticed how he had caught the ire of the moody ex-boyfriend.

"Don't just stand there you morons!"

He pointed a pale finger to where the mages had stood.

    "Attack! Attack! ATTACK!"

And just then, war was declared. Though he felt the lady beside him was hesitant to turn it into a battlefield, for she had not said a word.

Terith made a move to mumble ever so slightly, making sure Reisha heard over the sound of the advancing parade of douches. "I won't use my blade for this. It might prove difficult, but for the sake of the wedding, I'll try to keep the entrance clean."

With that, he held a focused eye over the men who picked on the wrong couple to meddle with.

"Crazy exes." he spat, readying his sword.

Post by Dubhlainn 1st June 2016, 12:17 pm

“That’s what she’s telling me, course our conversation was cut short cause Mr. Goldstar came into the room.” From the tall building one could see a flood of bandits, spreading out over the entire area. Apparently they are trying to surround the church while their primary forces engage the two bodyguards fighting at the entrance.

Natalia whistles in amazement. “It seems like the entire bandit town came to rose garden.”

“There’s no mistaken the local guard has been overrun, whatever resistance they have, the town guard would have dug in since there is no cause for offense since they are outnumbered.” Dubhlainn cracked his knuckles and stood on the railings, preparing to descend down the building.

“Wait how much… did this guy owe Degardo?” Natalia dropped her smoke and stepped on it to put out the spark.

“…..hundreds of thousands probably used it all up to hire an entire town of bandits.” The Bandits were coming in from one road and splitting off by the fork in the road. Citizens were frightened almost as if an entire army has entered the rose garden city. Dubhlainn jumped down from wall to wall till he landed on the spot where the fork in the road is and bent all the street lamps to block the huge flood of bandits.

“Oooh! Tough guy huh!? How dare you stand in our way!” They were infuriated that they were blocked off from the road on the way to the church.

“Hey… where’s your leader?” Dubhlainn asked.

“The hell would I know? All I know is we are gonna party out in the church there!” He spat on Dubhlainn as the division of bandits laughed, unfortunately that was a mistake.. the last mistake they ever made.

“I answered a question… and you just spat on my face.”
In minutes the entire forked road exploded, unconscious bandits and terrified citizens were littered everywhere, unfortunately they upset a very powerful man who’s capable to beating all of them down with his barehands. There was a huge number of them that gotten through and from the looks of it, Dubhlainn seems to be cutting the ex boyfriend’s source of reinforcements. He threw on bandit at the other, flung them through windows and smashed them with street lamp and anything he could grab hold.

“T-tch! ITS JUST ONE MAN! GRAB YOUR GUTS WE’RE GETTING PAID FOR THIS.” By those words it angered Dubhlainn more to think that the one who owe Degardo a huge loan planned to pay an army of bandits to ruin a wedding. It was terrifying to see Dubhlainn at work, Dubhlain marched forward as Bandits were being forced back, anger and disappointment was in his eyes as he left the beaten bodies of bandits in his wake.

Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay Empty Re: Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay

Post by Reisha 2nd June 2016, 4:18 pm

She stood there for a while, silently watching as the fight between her companion and wedding crashers progressed. The situation went out of control really quickly and that's what allowed Reisha to shook it off and mentally prepare herself for what was to come. And that particular something seemed to already be on its way.

Young Mitou was really impressed by Terith's fighting skills. He was fast and seemed to have great understanding of his opponent's movements which - combined with a type of magic Reisha herself has never even seen - created an upredictable combination.

Reisha took a fighting stance and pull out her hand as if she was about to grab onto something, and it didn't take too long until a very bright light completely engulfed her body.
'Re-equip! The God of Youth's set!'
A golden glaive appeared right in front of her body, followed by a skimpy armour of the same set that appeared in place of her wedding guest attire.
Although the material didn't really come off as light, both spells were designed specifically to give its user the advantage in terms of speed and agility - and it was that exact property that allowed Reisha to charge forward and block a melee attack from one of the intruders. The attack was inititally intended to land somewhere on Terith's body, and although the girl didn't really feel like it was something her companion wouldn't be able to deal with, she wasn't taking any chances that afternoon. She wanted to help Terith as much as she possibly could.

The pure strength coming from the guy's attack pushed her about two meters back towards the cathedral - if it hadn't been for the weight-reducing spell cast on the armour, she would have probably remained steady on her feet, ready to counterattack. Unfortunately, she had to take her time to right on her legs and before she even had the time to realize, she was hit by a wave of wind which knocked her on the ground.
It was either pure luck or calculated move from her enemy that he took an advantage of the fact her weight was distinctly reduced, thus making any knockback effects against her twice as effective.

The very moment she got back up on her feet, another wave of condensed air sent her flying, not even giving Reisha time to take a breath. This time however she decided to make use of a particular ability she gains while equipping The God of Youth's armour.
Two white magic circles appeared right beneath her feet, immediately stopping her mid-air and allowing to aim her glaive at the enemy. Glaive then pulled the girl extremely fast towards wind element user, allowing for a fast attack from behind.
She used the wooden part of the glaive to hit his back. A loud thud spread across the yard, adding to the already overflowing rage of the intruders.

Reisha started swinging her glaive defensively to avoid being easily overthrown by another wind-based spell from her her enemy's arsenal. She took a quick glance at Terith, who was now facing the threat of two enemies.

Her enemy was still distracted so she took that chance to summon a regular blade. It appeared right beside her, floating in the air and ready to be thrown. She stopped spinning her glaive for a quick second to grab the blade and fling it at one of the Terith's enemies, hoping it would make it any easier for him to fight them.

Should the situation require it, she made sure she was close enough to react to any sudden movement from Terith's enemies. She hoped she would be quick enough to get between them and make use of defensive capabilities of her re-equip magic.
'You hanging in there, Terith?' she shouted through her shoulder, waiting for a confirmation of companion's wellbeing.

Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay Empty Re: Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay

Post by Terith 3rd June 2016, 9:46 am

The restlessness was now a dominant feeling that fluttered about like the dust from the brute's fall. The man groveled and whined and breathed like a broken chainsaw, and Terith spared him no mercy as he attempted to pummel his chest with his foot, perhaps finding the need to break a rib or two considering he refused to bare his blade to blood.

But he had no means of doing so, not when an aggressive chain of fireballs were conjured down his path. And it was Yasusada, though greatly tense, who shouted a string of warnings at him in his head.

'IDIOT! Watch out! To your right! Dodge!'

Terith made a sound that showed his surprise as he took a few steps back, however losing to a few seconds and immediately regretting it when he felt part of his right leg singe in ungodly pain. The rest of the fireballs struck the fallen brute in an eruption of embers, his shrill screaming were none the pleasing to anyone then, but it may have triggered a snicker from the swordsman as he remained, however slightly crippled, mostly unharmed.

The pair of mages blew separate fuses as they hurried to conjure another onslaught, of course, of course, but not without attacking each other with reckless insults.

"Fool! Why did you aim downwards?!" the pale one said with a humorous rage face.

The fiery mage made a face that was none the better, but he was clearly smiling. "Why you....Look! I was aiming for his legs! He won't be a runner when he's down!"

    "That wasn't even the plan!"

    "There was NO plan!"

Terith clicked his tongue at his carelessness, but he willed himself to rise, and he did so, claiming his sword as a makeshift support. In his head, he kept calling out to the spirit whose eyes were ever watchful.

Yasusada shook his head in disapproval. But as a spirit of pity, he granted Terith his form of mercy and the swordsman was immediately in gratitude, feeling the power seep into his very being. He stood on shaky legs as he hissed ever so slightly from the pain that stung his nerves.

He eyed his opponents carefully through the shadows of his hood. They were still at it. Good. He proceeded to concentrate himself on the impact of his vocal chords and when he felt moderately pleased, he puffed his chest and shouted.

    "Ban...zai!"

He huffed in relief as he relished the wash of ease that spread through his arms, through his legs, through his brain and through his veins. Terith now readied himself as his voice clearly drew their attention back. His taut stance made his blade gleam pale silver under the rosy lights that filtered through the cathedral's windows.

"Rascal...here, take this one on for size!"

The fire one started filling his raised palm with a fire that grew at a tremendous haste. His comrade threw Terith a calculative glance as ice particles gathered across his fingertips.

    "Eat fire ya little wench!"

However, just for a fraction of second, the world seemed to slow down. There was no hurdling ball of flame, only screams of pure agony as the mage collapsed to his knees. His hand, that was once housing a powerful attack, was stabbed cleanly by a blade right through the center. Blood ran down his wrists faster than the tears falling off his face.

His friend could only widen his eyes in horror.

Terith followed the blade's path and realized it was Reisha who threw it. He breathed inwardly with a ghost of a smile tugging at the edge of his lips. He thought of giving her a thumbs up, but as he watched her fight her own battles, he realized he should probably tidy things up and come to aid as quickly as he can. The waves of brutes and crazy mages just kept on coming and it would be disadvantageous to fight alone.

His grasp on his sword was tighter now. "I'm still in one piece, actually!"

Terith closed in on the other imprint in his head, and a sleepy sound of agreement resonated further into his mind. The new spirit rested on his blade and it reappeared, from a faint cloud of fog, as a wooden sword, a bokken.

"Thanks for the heads up!" is what he said to her as he charged himself towards the two mages like a dubious lightning bolt. The ice-y one who was trying to comfort his ally threw a sharp, dagger-like icicle in panic. It was fast, but it wasn't enough for Terith to miss as he hit it with his bokken like a baseball bat, turning it back on its course.

It drew blood once it cut into the ice mage's shoulder. But that didn't stop him drawing more icicles with a crimson hand.

Terith didn't mind, he imagined it was like his past where he played baseball with his dad, only now it had a promise of death, and he wasn't pulling a pinky on that one. The next few icicles were more fragile as they shattered under the touch of his wooden blade. Must have been the enemy's attempt to not end up skewered.

He broke them, and when he finally put out the last one, he made sure to sprint faster than he ever could, closing the distance between him and the two, just enough for him to lay waste as one panicked and froze, and one foolishly lifted his head.

Needless to say, both were hit, and both ended up speeding ten meters ahead into the hurdling group of brutes, scattering them like pins to a bowling ball. The swordsman concurred that the ice user was hit at the stomach, and the fire user was hit on his forehead. He twirled his bokken in satisfaction.

    "Strike!"

Post by Dubhlainn 4th June 2016, 7:05 am

As a last resort to breakthrough, each of them ran at Dubhlainn, some of them were carrying weapons. As one came running with an iron pipe, Dubhlainn simply grabbed it from the man and kick him off, Next was another who came with another pipe, which was then caught by a freehand and started to wield the two pipes like short swords. As he marches along, cohorts rush towards him as if they were projectiles shot by an archer, he bashed the iron pipes to their heads effortlessly and during the entire ordeal that cut off reinforcements from heading to the church, not once had he used magic…..

.. and is still terrifying all the same.

He flung a bent Iron pipe and knocked one of them out, he picked up a sewage cover and used it as a shield, bashing cohorts one by one either when they rushed forward or surrounded him. He’s like a demon wall, creeping closer to eliminate enemies and ultimately crushing them when he gets close enough. Their numbers were almost spent, Dubhlainn did not take any damage because their movements were all too predictable, no it wasn’t because of that, his time serving in Mirai Military gave him the skills to plow through a hundred cohorts and only one thing was on his mind…

.. to find the man that could have paid them all and demand payment.

“W-wait… W-wait a minute, that suit, those moves, a stone-faced man who comes out collecting rent for Degardo… YOU Y-you couldn’t be the…”

“Yes I am..” He said monotonously as he stepped on his chest. “If you do not tell me where the man who paid you is, I’ll be sure that you will have to pay for it instead.”

“LOOK I DON’T KNOW! HE MUST HAVE GONE IN THE CHURCH RIGHT NOW! WE WERE ASKED TO MOVE AS SOON AS HE GAVE THE SIGNAL! I SWEAR THAT’S ALL! I SWEAR!!”

Dubhlainn dropped the brick he was holding. “Its not difficult to answer now is it?”

Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay Empty Re: Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay

Post by Reisha 4th June 2016, 11:55 am

Fortunately, her enemy didn’t seem to be much of a talker. It allowed her to stay focused on the fight and freely divide her attention between smaller groups of brutes that’d already surrounded the battlefield.
She knew for a fact that her blade hit the target perfectly, coming out on the other side of his palm. The noises that followed up that event were more than enough to assure her of her attack’s success.

However, Reisha had to direct her attention towards the wind mage, as he slowly started to make his move. He raised his hands and connected them right above his head. Redhead felt as the air around her started rapidly blowing in all directions, finally throwing her a few meters above the ground and then suddenly slamming her down against it. There was nothing she could do once the spell was initited. At the very least she intended not to distract her companion with any sign of pain her enemy intended to inflict upon her.

Her body hit hard, and she screamed in pain while black star-bursts danced across her vision. The effects of the spell started slowly wearing off as she came to.
She stared at her enemy with untold fury, slowly regaining sharpness of perceptions.
'You just got into a lot of trouble', she growled, making sure the message comes through loud and clear.

She could see the expression on his face changed for a split second - it went from confidence to fear, and back to confidence. That time, however, Reisha was able to see right through his facade.
She touched her armour, her fingers quickly tracing edges of each and every piece of plate on her upper-chest. It was holding fine.
Just knowing that, Reisha breathed a sigh of relief. She needed that piece of equipment now more than ever.

Young girl proceeded with counterattack as soon as the wind mage in front of her decided to recast the very same spell that had allowed him to get her on the ground before.
This time she was much quicker. She pointed her glaive at him and pulled herself towards the enemy in the blink of an eye. He was too surprised to react. Wooden pole hit his head before he had a chance to react. His body hit the ground with a loud thud, thus adding to the other two mages already lying down, having been beaten by Terith a couple of seconds prior.

They didn't get to rest for a second, as all the other brutes - pawns, really - started coming at them in waves. Though the pure number was enough to give the two heroes a good beating.
This time Reisha had a not-so-perfect response, yet still good enough to proceed without hesitation. Her glaive disappeared and she summoned a big scimitar. Its blade was replaced by a piece of sturdy sandstone, which contrasted visually with an iron-based hilt.
However it wasn't its looks that made Reisha summon The Sand Emperor's Scimitar, but the spell that she was about to use. Mitou raised her weapon, conjuring a sandstorm with a radius of thirty meters, heavily limiting vision of anyone but herself.

Reisha acted immediately. She ran up to Terith and softly grabbed his hand, reasurring him that she is going to take care of them. She hid Terith in  the very heart of the sandstorm and started slashing enemies around, her swords - now also the blade that had previously pierced fire mage's hand -  dancing in the chaotic waves of sand. All the enemies were completely oblivious as to what was happening, but she wasn't going to go any easier on them. She just tried her best not to make them bleed too much.

Slowly, the effects of the sandstorm started wearing off - as per Reisha's wish.

Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay Empty Re: Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay

Post by Terith 5th June 2016, 5:58 am

Something started to crack in his hands. He realized that the impacts of the ice user's attacks were too much for the bokken, so much so, that it's form began to disintegrate, revealing the silver shine that Terith was so accustomed to.

'I'm sorry...little guy, you took too much. I owe you one, though.'

Terith imagined the spirit shivering in a corner, and if only he could, he'd reach out to it, if it weren't for the war that continued to storm a thousand more priorities.

There was no longer a need for haste, however, as the enemy lines began to dwindle in their numbers. Terith could make out blurry figures that pulsed with a particularly pronounced aura of mana surrounding their bodies. Mages, perhaps, what was left of the escapade was merely an armada of wizards who followed a foolish bidding. However, to a man like Terith, who has an especially weak affinity with the elements, he found the battle only intensifying.

He furrowed his brows as he coiled his fingers unto his blade's grip, his shoulders now sharply outlined by his will to fight.

"Tch. More of them...they're all pretty strong." he raised his sword more pronouncedly, "This'll be the first time I'll be using this on a real battle...so I'm fairly excited!"

Now Terith would smile for a lot of things apart from a certain glee, sometimes he'd smile to pry the cold, undead hands of panic off his chest. This was one example. Though he knew Yasusada was still in the works by showering him with his pity, there was still a thrilling sense of challenge in the air that made him want to fight with all his truths and all his best attacks at the front line.

But then that smile faltered, there was a frenzy, there was a touch, and then there was how he dealt with things like these, poorly, very poorly.

Reisha had reached out a hand to him, and oddly enough, perhaps Yasusada had done something for him not to cause an outburst from surprise. But nonetheless, he wasn't used to that, and he could only hesitate for a second, giving her a complicated expression before being thrown into the eye of a storm that bellowed with wind and sand and blades.

There were screams, so many yet they were still felt so distant over the howling winds. He watched in amazement, and maybe a tiny bit of muse, as the sand slowly ceased spinning. In its wake were several of the wedding crashers who were left sprawled against the pavement. Several were stabbed in various places, several were limping, some were cowering and some were definitely out-cold from being pushed back into hard objects such as the surrounding trees.

He breathed in sharply, flipping his sword and back again, giving his partner a small pat on the back. "Gotta admit, that was pretty harcore." he huffed.

But it felt too soon. There was something else that lingered, an intangible force that wanted them gone, the feelings of immortalized spite. That's right. He almost forgot. Terith spun around to meet the none-the-pleased stare of the bride's ex.

He looked at them harshly, kicking one of his subordinates in the process. "Useless scums! Couldn't even take care of a bunch of kids..." the man now harbored another ultimate goal, Terith thought, like a sub-process. And as he gave them a cocky expression with a raised fist, it only confirmed it more.

"By the time I'm finished, you'll be sorry you ever tried to stop us!"

This man was dead set on taking them out himself. What a pretentious fellow!

"Big words for a psycho stalker." he said, flecking a stray bead of blood off his lips with his thumb. "Well Reisha, here comes the big fish, let's see what he has in store for us!"

"Heh. You'll regret this." the man breathed in and released a satisfied huff, "I'm gonna give you three minutes to think this through! Might as well start running...if I were you." he finished, sporting a cocky smile.

His blade surged with a kind of resonance that was unbeknownst to him, somehow, an energy that once laid dormant was slowly peeling itself from the confines of the past. But not enough, not enough, the imprint Souji sunk the energy into mystery again as Terith called upon the spirit's blessing. And knowing Souji, he answered this without much qualms.

'Feels good to be out, Teri-boy.'

    'Don't call me that!'

The spirit chuckled. 'Focus, young one. Your enemy means serious business, as you would say.'

Terith spun his blade in an idle circle, watching the man ahead of him grow slightly more annoyed with each passing second. 'Business or not, we're here to stop him. That's all the business he'll ever come to encounter in these parts.'

    'Brutal.'

    'Quit it, will you?'

Whatever Souji said after was lost to his ears. He knew, Terith knew just from the aura that the guy was leaking that he was no pushover. He wasn't just a big fish, he was one of the biggest fishes. One for the worst analogies, however, but Terith could only shrug.

He spared Reisha a glance before backing up, lowering his voice to a bare whisper. "So...any plan of action? He seems formidable, but doesn't seem too smart to give us three minutes to think, maybe we can pull the rug under his nose with a tactic of some sorts...?" he asked her, his form tense yet stable.

Now that he knew where their boss could possibly be, there’s no doubt that he’s fighting alongside his cohorts, Dubhlainn prays that the two mages were defending the wedding with their lives, he has yet to come to their side. He walks towards the path, on one hand an iron pipe, the other held cigar, as he quickly draw a lighter, igniting the nicotine. A few puffs he made, you gotta admit Natalia was right about this particular brand, it’s cheaper and has more resistance to intake of nicotine. It would take him awhile to get there but he simply cannot intervene until he has a complete visual of the boss himself.

And he thought to himself: “The Old man has enemies huh? An organization I’m not aware off?” It could have been the Kugeki, a dark gang with three heads aiming to seize control over Fiore, but their group dissolved thanks to the legal guild efforts. The Hassassins maybe? Their activity has grown as of late, could they be related? He’s making assumptions based on past speculations and recent activities that the underworld had noticed but there’s no concrete evidence that they are connected or affiliated.

Meanwhile Natalia headed down to the wedding inside the chapel, she stood by behind the doors, she was at means as a last resort in case some enemies broke through. “Funny that the priest is taking his sweet time with the sermon” A window breaks, a cohort manages to get in only for Natalia to stop them dead in their tracks, thank God nobody heard that and the cohort was tossed back outside through the same window. “Dangit just how many of them are there? I hope those two are alright, gotta give them credit though, they are really dugged in.” She doesn’t know what’s going on outside but she was the last line of defense, any cohort that breaks through will be given a beating.

Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay Empty Re: Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay

Post by Reisha 6th June 2016, 10:44 am

As the effects of the sandstorm started slowly wearing off, Reisha took a few steps back. She was getting the whole picture now.

Men of different age, all hurt and scattered around the battlefield. Some lying near the tree line in the background, the others either completely knocked or limping their way as far from the two young mages as it was humanly possible. She could almost swear she saw some of them cry like little babies, even though she herself hadn't been that harsh on them. Well, maybe except the guy with pierced hand that was currently bleeding all over the place.
She sighed loudly. She should probably think of some way to get him some help.
Reisha was reconsidering her options when suddenly the main fiend of the party stepped up. He was boiling with anger and disappointment, his feelings all mixed up but certainly not friendly. He glowered at Terith as the latter tried to convince him to back down and fall back. And at that point it seemed as if her companion's quest hadn't even been intended to make the opponent any calmer. Quite the opposite, or so it seemed.

The Sand Emperor's Scimitar vanished in a cloud of golden light, leaving Reisha temporarily unarmed. It would take a moment until she retrieved another blade from her magical pocket, but the fact their enemy decided to give them a breath worked in Reisha's favour.
Besides, it seemed like Terith's magic didn't have such limitations. 'That's good'. She relaxed a little thanks to that thought.
A low whisper reached her ears. It was Terith.
'I can feel that too. He's emitting a really unpleasant type of aura'. That was probably an understatement, but there was no need to ruin the mood.
They had quite a tough nut to crack. They knew nothing about his magic, his fighting style was also a mystery for them.

Reisha took a few steps forward. A black armour gleamed out of her magical pocket, her finest defense. Multiple diamond shards attached to the plates gave off bright light when exposed to sun.
'Let's settle this quickly, Terith. The ceremony will be over soon. It's a matter of seconds. We must not allow that man to ruin their wedding', she spoke up confidently. 'I will block whatever comes your way, and you try to make it to him in one piece.'
For them - it was now or never. Or so she thought as the fiend started walking towards them, unpatiently. Although her anger had managed to drop down a level, it wouldn't stop her from going all out on that person.
She started running towards her opponent, black cape, up until now hanging peacefully from armour's right armplate, aggresively flew into the air. There was little to no room for mistakes and Reisha wanted to make sure Terith is fully covered.

Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay Empty Re: Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay

Post by Terith 8th June 2016, 9:32 am

Terith sought to shout one more time to ensure he was at full capacity, and as whatever damaged he had concurred was lifted shortly after, he shot Reisha a semi-confident nod and a "I'll see what I can do." before momentarily retreating into the confines of his head, where he found the lack of strategy at hand, but a friendly spirit who waited and watched.

'There has to be a way...' he mumbled, indirectly addressing Souji as his presence faded back and forth against his brain cells. 'There has to some sort of loophole I can exploit to make sure that he's out cold without actually killing him...'

The gentle spirit suddenly seemed solid in his head as its outline was edged with a questioning sharpness. 'Why are you taking drastic measures to not kill a man who threatens to kill you? Should you not return the favor in kind?'

There was a pause in his breath, like a hesitance to answer, as if his thoughts were enraptured and he was stuck on thinking of what to say. But there was no better driving force than a time-bomb in the form of a convinced murderer.

'He's only human, Souji. Should I deny a man of his chance to repent and learn from this?'

The spirit laughed, though it was hearty, it was laced with mock amusement. 'That is true. However, you must know that not all men have the privilege to be spared from hell.'

Terith didn't want to bite at the spirit's obvious bait, but he still did, and truthfully so. 'In that logic, I demand to say that life on earth can be considered hell.'

Souji did not laugh this time. But his faithful gentleness was softened and his sharp corners were now dull. He seemed pleased. 'Well then...as you say. Then I will help you deliver your form of hell for this man.' The spirit seemed to shift from one end to another as he explained. 'You will need to use the Mamyu-ken for this. Do not use your blade. At the very last moment, just before you hit his first shoulder, sheathe it. I cannot speak to you anyway. But before doing so-' Souji paused as if mimicking a short breath, he sighs inwardly, '-you must deal as much damage as you possibly can until I give your go signal. You may cut him however you like during this stage.'

There was a time when he found that he was not a fan of going against what the odds had at stake and simply winging it. He felt that due to his lack of superiority over brute force, it would be careless to wage a war blind. And so his mentor had seen, and thought, and had his student devote half of his training to tactical timing, precision, and the worship of strategy and feints, among many others.

'...That's so crazy...it might just work.'

'You are to be wary, however. You are waltzing with death.'

'Too bad for death then. I'm terrible at waltz.'

He planted caution in his steps as he went over the spirit's course of action over in his head, flipping it from one side to another like a gold coin, putting trust in his partner's better judgement as he did so, and carefully trudging down the pavement. For a lack of words, Terith felt like he was walking across a tightrope where a breath out of place could lead to his descent into an unsavory death.

Death, by then, however, was also crossing a tightrope, and perhaps Terith held an advantage if he could pull this off.

The imprint Souji nodded knowingly, sensing his distress. 'Fret not. Put faith in yourself. I did not answer to a weakling, Terith. Hit his vital regions harshly, I know you can do it.'

Terith seemed shaken with that, not because he felt inspired or anything (minus the untimely fact that Souji's job was to give him inspiration), but rather, he was shaking from holding back a snort because of how melodramatic and overly sappy that had turned out to be. It felt like an over-used cliche, the inspiring bout at the peak of a hero's battle.

The funniest of all the cliches? He was no hero here.

His enemy's face skewed from annoyance as he watched Terith's face visibly lit up despite the daunting presence of a slow-creeping night. What did the young boy have to be so happy about? It just pissed him off so much that five minutes had to stop at three.

"That's it kids. You're all outta time!"

As he raised his palms, everything pulsed with a blur. It's as if the streets were shot by a small explosive, and the force drove them back, even just for a bit. Terith dug a heel into the pavements to serve as a small stronghold for his balance, but that quickly became the least of his problems.

The induced vibrations escalated to a higher staccato as the left-over debris of the passed storm lifted effortlessly into the air. It was an armada of fallen tree branches and pebbles and fragments of broken cobblestones. With a grin, the man launched these at a force that made their impact, as a hypothesis, as terrible and painful as actual bullets.

As if to make matters worse, all of them were bundled together in a way that gave no room for error on Terith's behalf. The rush was stupidly fast and forceful, yet had he not felt the first vibrations and dared to register them as a precursor, then he might as well have been stabbed three-fold times by an accelerating piece of wood.

He slipped through a narrow gate as he rolled off to one side. Quickly jumping to his feet, Terith raised his sword to land a strike on the man's left arm. However, timing was not upon him as he is met with a grueling smile, and a force that attempted to drive him off. He managed to avoid the vibrations initially, yet he was careless in where he dodged and landed back first into a thin lamp post. The feeble thing, though obviously quite sturdy as a post, wobbled from the impact.

A small streak of blood slithered from his lips, tracing out the sharp corners of his chin and landing in a scarlet drop across his dressing shirt. Ah...could he still not be used to Souji's Bane at this point? Even a hit to a lamp post urged him to bleed. What a cruel joke.

Though shaken from the initial force, there was no hesitance in his stance. He brushed the blood from his lips with his sleeve, later discarding his blazer to the bushes. His sheathe was held tightly in his other hand, while his sword was steady in his dominant one.

    "Rise Up and Refuse!"

He willed himself, he so very did. He willed himself to shout and though weak, it was enough, he summoned whatever power was in-laid in the word refuse and dared to believe. Something happened. Something always did. And when he felt the surge of energy reverberate through his veins, it was more than a dare, it was the truth.

A follow-up act somehow managed to immediately worm itself inside his brain as he realized that the previous wave was smaller than his first one. Gears were predominantly churning in his head as he relayed his phases over and over. He took the man's expression of unparalleled anger as a closed focus that was targeted solely on Terith. And all that pent up frustration was all he needed to bring him down.

Perhaps a bit more would edge him closer to the end.

"Pfft...I'd expect more from a crazy bastard like you."

    "...SHUT UP YOU LITTLE-!"

There, he made a move, he raised his hands to pull off a wave and immediately, the swordsman made sure to give Reisha a signal to attack his blindspot, just enough to narrow his focus and blur his instincts to a bare minimum.

Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay Empty Re: Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay

Post by Reisha 9th June 2016, 2:24 pm

Reisha could almost feel the internal struggle happening inside Terith's head. It was understandable. Her companion, much like Reisha herself, didn't seem to be that much of a fighter. At least as of that moment.
The situation got dangerous in a matter of minutes though, and there was no time for any signs of moral support. She was, however, able to back him up in a very literal way.
As soon as she felt the enemy was about to strike, she jumped between the enemy and her friend, her feet almost welded to the ground by the two magic circles that appeared underneath. It was a magic spell, a passive ability provided by The God of Mountain's Armour. There was almost no force that could possibly sweep her off her feet with that thing as backup.

She raised her hands, both engulfed in a bright light. A magically enhanced shield appeared before her, followed by a huge magic circle that absorbed all the projectiles sent at the two by the enemy. Each object felt like a bullet, and although the shield would stay just fine throughout the few minutes they had, Reisha knew she was just delaying the inevitable. The damage would hit her all the same, right after the spell had wore off.
She didn't even realize when Terith found a gap in enemy's attacks. At least that must have been his intial thought. It didn't take long for the enemy to take advantage of the situation and strike Terith with yet another object.
Reisha's shout was completely absorbed by the noises the projectiles were making when getting crushed against the magical barrier that she had put up. The best she could do was to move forward and shorten the gap between herself and the two men in question.

Fortunately enough, Terith stood up and continued his attack, quite clearly giving Reisha a sign that the enemy is distracted.
She disabled the magic circles beneath her feet and summoned The God of Youth's Glaive while still holding the armour and the shield from its set.

And then a lot of things happened very quickly, giving her almost no chance to reflect upon her actions, to even think them through. The enemy raised his hands and attempted to release a great wave spreading in all directions, quite possibly annihilating everything in its path. Reisha used the energy left in her shield to absorb all the damage directed towards the two heroes, knowing exactly that the armour couldn't possibly survive the attack.
One crack after another, her armour completely broke down and the rest of the damage, the rest of the pain was infliced directly upon Reisha's body.
She was too focused to even give away any sounds. She focused her attention and aimed the glaive at the enemy. Weapon pulled her towards the wave magic user and allowed her to hit him with great force using the wooden pole instead of its blade. The attack was enhanced by the spirits that had been summoned by Reisha right before her final strike.

She was at the point of exhaustion, her body fell and she wasn't able to move a muscle from that point onward. The power of her lineage, used without any preparation, also started taking its toll on her dominant arm, causing it go loose and drop the weapon.
A small stream of blood started falling down her mouth and neck as she tried to understand what was happening around her.

Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay Empty Re: Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay

Post by Terith 10th June 2016, 9:57 pm

He couldn't focus. There were so many things trying to grab his attention, his line of vision wasn't enough to accommodate all of them.

He wishes he could be in several places at once, be several people and find the time to fill in those other roles. But he couldn't. And a little bit of him started to crumble at his uselessness as his partner takes the damage like an iron bullet, battered at the end of the ricochet.

He wants to scream but he knows there's no time for that. Instead he wills her to hear him despite the numbness, mouthing his words of apology as he raises his sword above his head, his enemy now near the finality of his next attack.

Terith felt like he was capable of many other things. And in the same prospect, he also knew he couldn't be many other things. The fine line between those two boundaries had often stretched far beyond his pale fingers, but if there was a greater method of thinning the wall, there was nothing greater than sheer belief. And sometimes, if he could only push himself farther than from what he expects of himself, the brick wall crumbles, not so often, but when it did, it was no thicker than a transient spread of spider thread.

The threads hum a song when he draws near, urging him to cut away his expectations and lose sight of volition and just fight. Nothing too complicated, just keep fighting is what they murmur.

And fight, surely he was no man of that, but he was many other things, but somehow in just one unsightly moment where he took the risk, he flung his sword at point blank rage, and everything just seemed to pound in his head, the cogs in his head were spinning and funnily, cursing him, for his crazy ideas.

But the enemy took to it as if with lesser focus, flecking it with a smaller wave because surely now, why would he waste what was left of his magic on a flimsy sword?

That was the drawback, though, because the sword had a deftly tied string at the end of its hilt, and Terith had it carefully woven through his shaking fingers, tightening it into a shaking fist as he sunk and smoothly slid across the pavement bellow, avoiding the obstinate range that his opponent had thrown off listlessly. The sword was thrown off, but not too far enough as he tugged on the string, stalwart and hasty. Perhaps Reisha's pain did not go in vain, since his focus had clearly encumbered and narrowed to a simple circle, and he no longer held a defense of what appeared from beneath.

His knee found its way into what he left unguarded, striking it as efficiently and as harshly as he possibly could, much to the grimace of the enemy that had opted for a scream that sounded primal and guttural.

'Spider thread...' he thought, briefly, the sword landing in his hand in a burst of momentum.

In his attempt to counter, his enemy forced a downward wave, snaring Terith in his vibrations. He was pushing it, Terith noticed, as sweat beaded across his temple and below his jaw. The pavement cracked and cratered beneath him, and the pain was intensely belittling as it made his nerves prickle and singe. He knew he was taking a direct hit, his body may not be able to stand when tomorrow rolls around the corner but he compelled himself to cut all the spider threads that hindered his entrance into what he could potentially be.

The blade's curve molded into his skin like it cut through a card board box, the sound was none the pleasant for Terith, neither was the sensation of having his lower leg impaled by a sword welcomed for his opponent. He cursed in a higher baritone that a usual groan, and he immediately made a move with a raised arm, perhaps attempting to blow another wave but he is perpetually stopped short, small vibrations winging out of his hands as the curve met his flesh for another time. Yamanbagiri's tip shone as it hit lamp light from behind the enemy's wrist.

There was a short millisecond of silence that was nothing but the sound of a sword being drawn out from a person's skin, slippery and leaking with the sound of gore, there was a patter of blood across the area, acutely resembling rain if it had not been the shade of scarlet.

The man could no longer mouth his pain as his other hand clung to his open wound, feebly trying to close it as he pushed to make the ends meet. A leg is lifted, as if to stomp on him, but Terith rolled to the other side, albeit a little slower than before, but they were both at the edges of pain's threshold, so there was no disadvantage.

Bruises were scattered across the entire length of his arm, his dressing shirt was in nothing but white shreds of garment, his pants were lacking patches as cuts seared across his skin there, the scars were red and blurred by the dirt of rolling around.

He could care less now. He approached the man that was on his knees. His back was left defenseless and it received an ungrateful amount of scars as Terith drew his sword in a rotation. Up, down, across, horizontal, vertical -it kept going until his arms could no longer bare the savagery of slashing his sword back and forth.

His hazy eyes caught wind of the open scars that sprawled across a layer of skin, now sore, cut, red. And as if he slipped from his trance, he opened his eyes wide, closely resembling the first time he drew blood with his own hands. The young man gulped a lungful of air, his throat cracking with the sudden jolt of movement.

The air was metallic in both texture and scent, and a foreign sense of regret nearly stopped him from lifting his sword again. But the battle was not won yet, he thought, so his sword sat at the base of his enemy's chin, close to his pulse. The uninvited metal was cold and too near for breathing comfort.

"....Just give up already." Terith murmured, tugging at the man's messy scrawl of hair so his face met the light.

He said nothing, only breathed in and out, puffing slow and deliberate. Terith's hand shook visibly as he pulled his sword closer, dragging a small line of blood across the man's jaw. "...We'll save you the shame of your ex seeing you like this." he urged, his teeth a gritted bundle of white. "Goddammit, just give up!"

His smile was unguarded, yet forced against his circumstance. His voice cracks in what sounded like a dry chuckle. "Kill me. You know better. Why're you sparing me?" his arms laid limp at either side, as if signing his consent to his death. "If you don't kill me, you'll regret it!"

He laughed. He really laughed at the end of it, sealing in the cold hard truth that he wanted to die and it was shameful to watch. There were so many selfish and foolish reasons for why he wanted to call out at this man, to show just how pitiful to see him so readily accept a death that wasn't even guaranteed -but he didn't have the heart to. His jaw stiffened in frustration as his expression all but hardened at that smile. It's as if he was mocking him.

Without really leaning towards to any other option, Terith denied him of what he wanted and deftly dug his elbow into the crook of the man's neck, where it met curbed into a shoulder, making sure he put every remaining ounce of strength in him in that one impact. It was sheer luck that he must've bust a nerve as the man, once a smiling fool, collapsed on his chest with a sound of disapproval, and his eyes rolling towards the back of his head in a faint.

"No, many could care less if you died. But you'll regret your death more than we ever can."

He just got lucky, he realized. No way could he have hit the right pressure point, but there was little room for argument as he was thoroughly enclosed by pain and rest. He brought himself to a stand, roughly wobbling a bit, but nevertheless ending on his two feet, sore to the even ends of nirvana, maybe.

His smile is barely there from where he stood as he limped towards Reisha, dragging his feet like they were dead weights. "Are you alright?" he asked, weakly, his voice cracking a little from the attacks of fatigue, all trying to hit him in the wrong places. "You took too much damage there, I'll say..."

Terith narrowed his eyes as he saw his blade lathered generously in blood. He sheathed it in hesitance. "Sorry...looks like I ended up overdoing it." he tried to form a laugh, but what came out was a breath of air that varied over their timbre, each one lower and slower than the next 'ha'.

"Bastard wanted to die." he muttered, willing the sentiment to be carried off into the wind, "He doesn't understand just how much he'll lose. But then, he's only human, guess you fall off your rocker sometimes."

He grinned, pitiful for the man who slept, joyous for the newly weds as he eyed the cathedral, the uproar of bells signaling that yes, two hearts have been happily joined in matrimony. Then he eyed the state of the grounds and thought...well...at least there were still roses lining the bushes.

It was a mess, though mess was clearly an understatement. Some of the men still gathered in a heap of jumbled bodies over to one side, while the cobblestone was broken to portions and there were tree branches littering the sidewalks. He mewled over the thought if Mrs. Goldstar would deduct it from their pay, but chuckled it off as he threw the issue over his shoulder, thinking it was far better than having them thrashing the ceremony.

    All's well that ends well.

"I guess we can't salvage the grounds...but at least we can wave off to our newly weds." he gave his chest a thump, coughing lightly before he let the word banzai stir from his throat, the warm feeling coating their bruises and scars as if it were the moonlight, refreshing at every angle. Though he may not have healed much of the damage taken, he could at least lighten the numbing pain to a certain extent.

"It's not much...but I hope it's enough." he said. With a light pat to Reisha's shoulder, he sauntered over to the entrance with a small stagger in his steps. He hunched over a bit as he caught a small handful of blood gushing from the inside of his mouth. A crease formed over his brow as he hid his hand in a neat bind behind him.

Souji has been quite. It was unsettling. And how much blood he managed to throw up was even more uncanny when he realized that it was never this much back then.

Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay Empty Re: Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay

Post by Dubhlainn 12th June 2016, 11:24 am

Steps can be heard from the distance, a man in a marauder’s attire can be seen walking from the distance, he comes close to witness the final blow that was about to be struck, Terith’s blade was met with the man’s head but he had mercy and that was probably the right thing he did there. People like Terith shouldn’t stain their hands with blood, they don’t seem like the type of people.

That is why people like Dubhlainn exists, to do that job for them and if Terith were to kill the crazed Ex boyfriend, Dubhlainn would have quick draw his magnum and shot Terith’s sword to disarm him with a probably chance of hitting his forearm, seeing as how incredibly close Terith is.

Natalia went outside as the bride made its kiss with the groom, and soon enough she puffed a smoke to see the progress the bodyguards made. She pat both their shoulders and told them “Thanks for protecting the wedding guys, you can go to dinner with us if you want.” Natalia smiled as she drew a suitcase that’s filled with medical supplies and treated both Reisha and Terith.

Just when the ex was about to make a desperate attempt to kill Natalia, Reisha and Terith altogether, he was grabbed by the neck collar from behind.

“PUT ME DOWN YOU PIECE OF CRAP!!!” He flailed trying to break free of whoever grabbed him but as soon as he turned around, he was met with intimidation.

The Marauder of the Neutral Grounds who collects loans and debt.

“W-wha…. WHAT H-HAPPENED TO ALL MY MEN!?” Surely there was supposed to be more cohorts for Reisha and Terith to fight but several waves more, the two mages would have been lying on the ground instead of the men, even if Natalia were there, everyone would have been in danger.

“You and your cohorts are going back to the Neutral Grounds….” Dubhlainn said as several men in suits came out from different alleyways, they were obviously sent in by Degardo to clean up the bodies. Petrified in horror, the ex boyfriend struggled to break free but was silenced when Dubhlainn pressed his fingers on his shoulder and applied mana to it, shocking the ex’s peripheral system and shutting down his body temporarily.

“I’m sorry that I couldn’t come in time” (I’m sorry for posting late)

“But it seems the situation is under control, all thanks to you two.” Dubhlainn bowed his head in thanks.

IF either Terith or Reisha were to ask, Natalia would explain:

The man they see over there is Degardo’s Marauder, the one sent by Degardo to seek out those who made loans with him, apparently the ex loan a huge sum of money, unfortunately the ex must come back to the neutral grounds to face consequences./b] Bodies were being cleaned up and not a single trace of them was insight, if anyone didn’t mind the pints of blood that’s scattered all over the streets then there’s no need for anyone to worry. 0]
“Natalia… I’ll be heading off first, we’ll meet when my job is done.”
Dubhlainn spoke as he and Degardo’s men disappear.

What Terith and Reisha witness was a crime family sent to claim and clean out the Ex boyfriend and his cohorts away.

[b]“Take care Dubh, remember to treat me next time!”
As soon as Natalia was done treating both Terith and Reisha’s wounds, she would disappear as well, dinner after the marriage, the bride would have disappeared as well if both were to notice.

    AFTER THE JOB

“Dubhlainn, meet Lieutenant, Lissandra Goldstar, former member of the Hyena’s logistics.”

    Lissandra can’t help but bow.

“Its an honor to meet you Sir Dubhlainn, Natalia told me everything and I wanted to thank you for helping defend the wedding.” She smiled.

“Marriage is a sacred ritual for two lives to bond closer, anyone who disturbs that is to be scorned upon but enough gratitude, I hear you had information about Garan no Dou’s enemies… is this true?” Dubhlainn asked as he closed the door to the room the three are in.

“Yes… I actually overheard someone scheming to plot against Garan no Dou but I don’t know who.”

“Who was this person? Did you know what they look like?” Natalia asked.

“It was a tall, Robust man who wore a stone face and looked a bit like you Sir Dubhlainn but from what I heard, the Hassan had been on the move seeking Garan but I really don’t know why.” Lissandra said.

“…. I see, thanks for the information Lissandra, now go and live your life in peace.” Dubhlainn left the room without another word.

“Pfft that guy always act so cool, say Lissandra…. Wanna go grab some cake?”

“Yeah let’s XD I’m pretty sure my husband is wondering where I am.” She smiled as both girls headed out to join the feast.

And nobody has heard from Lissandra's ex-boyfriend ever again.... the mystery of the missing ex boyfriend will go down with our graves.

Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay Empty Re: Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay

Post by Reisha 16th June 2016, 3:32 pm

Her surroundings slowly faded, leaving Reisha alone - and quite comfortable, if she was to give her opinion on that. The pain went away in no time, as did her understanding of the fact her body had suffered extensive damage.
She was quite amazed she hadn't tripped over and given up on any attempts to gather her strength and stand up. An invisible hand kept on pushing her towards Reisha's companion, Terith, who was cleaning his blade of horrible amounts of blood. It was basically dripping with that crimson liquid.

A very calming feeling visited her body. It was done. And she didn't have to be the one pulling the imaginary trigger.
Although she could barely hear a thing, she figured Terith was about to make a joke of the whole situation. She smiled faintly as if she'd got that one perfectly, her head nodding.
Standing next to him, she felt much better. Perhaps it was one of his many tricks - that young man was indeed extremely resourceful and it wouldn't come off as a surprise to her that he used some sort of healing technique. Or perhaps the pain was too much for her to handle, completely forcing the brain and the nerves out of that one.
'I think I am hurt', she mumbled like a drunk.

Then a lot of things happened very quickly and the time seemed to stop and speed up as it pleased, giving Reisha little to no time to figure out what was going on. She remembered a woman patching her up. And Terith, grinning and waving off to the newly wed couple. Reisha herself had been probably out of the action, sitting in a corner and watching some people locking up all the bastards that had given them so much trouble. Or maybe she was making that up? At that point she couldn't even be sure.

She was genuinely surprised. How much could a person sacrifice in order to get their revenge on others? It seemed unreasonable. Wrong. And - considering the outcome - not only morally wrong, but more importanly very dangerous and quite dumb. But feelings don't strive for logic, do they?

It didn't take long for her family to find her. They had... connections? That would be a gentle way to put it. Resource people were too moral to imagine.
Some people escorted her straight to her household and she wasn't in any mood or state to refuse. She would deal with that later. Much later.
She was only conscious enough to give Terith a faint smile, lips moving to a small 'thank you', but she wasn't able to get a single sound out of her mouth.

Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay Empty Re: Wedding Crashers: Somebody is going to pay

Post by Terith 17th June 2016, 10:04 pm

An unknown form of tension was scrapped off his chest as the woman wrapped his arms in bandages from the wrist upwards, his jaw slackening and his cheeks sinking as his smile lingered, taut, only to disappear as soon as it was there. Perhaps relief then didn't encompass every grimace that collected in his thoughts, he noted that an unfamiliar feeling of anxiety washed over him as the memories muddled through, slow and deliberate, and he was being towed through the murk in a careless fashion.

There were so many blurry things then, as if the events melted into an incomprehensible mess of the word after, and Terith was unsure where to place himself in all of it. He was unsettled at how he felt so separate from that reality and the events that passed, the battle being enough already to have him question the solidity of this, if everything was real and written or if it was a fantastical nightmare he was just trying to wake-up from. If at all, he still clung to the faint images in his head of when he was home, where the world was made up of skyscrapers and his sister's paintings and fading ink on paper.

It's just...a matter of reconciling with the truth, and Terith felt so far from the acceptance of this life, blood leaking in faucets and skin torn like tissue paper. He was unsure, so, so unsure whether things were right this time and he wasn't just hallucinating this version of time.

He noticed that he was given the choice to attend the dinner that followed. His arms hung stiffly at his sides as he weighed out the options with heavy thoughts, unable to truly disperse the fog gathering in his skull. Not even paying an ounce of attention to the man who was dragged by his shirt collar, the killing intent completely flying over his head.

For once there were no voices occupying the space, and for once he felt incredibly concerned that there wasn't.

Terith nodded to no one but himself, really, convincing the topic into the farthest corner of his problems. He probed on the idea that something social would remove his worries for a night and he'd be able to sleep a little, dreamless, tilting his head to the side, only to find that the woman who won the fight with him was ushered out, the people towing her back seeming like the escorts who served nobility. Had she been a daughter of a well-endowed family? The thought made him feel a little bit of shame to blame himself for ignorance and carelessness that he wasn't enough to keep her unharmed.

There wasn't much to be said at that, for he could only stare, watching her smile with the words of a voiceless thank you. His smile back is painful because one cheek was plastered with cotton and medical tape, but he would give her a grin otherwise, waving goodbye despite knowing Reisha might not see it, the convoy slipping through the streets in haste, disappearing at the turn into a faraway corner.

He wouldn't join the remainder of the party until much later, he thought. When there was nothing left but night and stillness, his sword came out unsheathed, his words slipped out carelessly as he relinquished the feeling of a soft-shouldered spirit edging through his conscience.

The spirit met the call in hesitance, and would say nothing at all if Terith hadn't worked up his questions, brief but comprehensive. '...You had something to do with that, didn't you, Souji?'

Something fluttered about, almost like a severe chill, leaning against his brain. 'With what, Teri?' Souji asked, sounding genuinely curious, but he was fooling no one.

Terith bit back a sore laugh and settled to end the matter with a raised sword, the dried blood matting the silver shine of the blade. 'This. I'm referring to this.' His jaw was now edged with displeasure as he focused on the spirit one more time, harder, the action similar to staring directly into Souji's nonexistent eyes. 'Back then...when I was cutting him out from behind...it didn't feel like my hand, it didn't feel like me at all, Souji.'

    'Your point being?'

'I'm saying that you had something to do with it goddamit!'

A low chuckle rattled his thoughts. '...And what if I did, Terith? Do you think I did that to mess with you?' the muse in his voice dissipated into poison, the kind that would make you numb. 'So what if I did manipulated you? It's part of my duty to protect you as a vessel of-'

'You say that now...yet I recall you only said help, not turn me into your puppet.'

Childish. Pathetic. Scorn. Disappointment. Betrayed. He was all that that at that one moment, arguing with an entity with no body but his, now trembling slightly in foolish anger. '...There's no point with me getting pissed off because of this, I know, but for once, just for once Souji, stop keeping secrets! I'm tired of people dodging my opinion like it doesn't matter!'

At that time of night, people were eating to their hearts content, and here he was, eating out his conscience. 'The priestess won't answer me when I try to ask why she put me here, Shizuo won't tell me why I need to become a wizard, and now I have to deal with you, a spirit who didn't tell me he could pull me on a few strings like a ghost possessing the soulless!'

Souji Okita couldn't answer, but if he had a head, it would be hanging low, lower than Terith's, the young man's face twisting into mixed horror. 'I don't know anything anymore, Souji, no one tells me anything helpful. You realize that now, right? I'm pissed because when I ask why or how, things won't answer me and it's f*cking unfair.'

'What do you want me to do?' Souji said, hushed at the display.

'...I don't know. But I know that I hate not knowing anything about myself, why I'm here, why I fight, heck, I don't even know what else my so-called powers can do.'

Terith blew over with a long sigh, white and puffy as the night chilled, as time ticked on in that world and he still knew nothing. The spirit felt lighter in his head, as if he was floating, and a pressure pressed against the skin of his shoulder, making him shiver a little, as if the spirit placed his hand there in fatherly kind of gesture.

'...Then, allow me to tell you things I know. I too, don't have much to give, but I at least have something. Sheathe your sword and join the feast for now. You'll be able to settle everything easier with a content palette.' Souji mumbled.

He handled the scabbard with white knuckles, forcing a smile as he slid his blade without so much as a word. He joined the dinner soundlessly, a bit of the weight on his shoulders whispered out into the wind. Yet he still had so much piled on him, and a man can only take so much. Terith didn't know what Souji would tell him, there was no expectation of what would come and what could be. He wasn't past his breaking point just yet, that much was left for something he already knew, and he held unto that tightly. Even as he ate with unknown guests, he made sure to keep what he knew in a neat collection.

There was a terrible foreshadowing feeling that all he knew would soon crumble into ruins faster than the Tower of Babylon. So he made sure there was foundation to keep his basis close, all the truths he believed and all the facts he gathered. And at the bottom of the pile were all his remaining memories of his life up to that moment, lightly considering that he could believe that before his eyes were worlds both concise and definite. No lies could filter through.

He'd take his reward soon after, after he finished his plate, and he'd move on, leave the cathedral without much noise and rebuild his pile of truths, over and over again.
