    Job Info:

Wolfe was finally getting back into the swing of things back at Infinity Hydra. He had only been back a short time and even more so had just returned from his last job fending off some werewolves. However, during his last mission he had met Faeral and Subaru who had helped a lot during the mission Upon returning he had delivered a message to one of his guild-mates named Rohma from them. Since then Wolfe had time to get to know Rohma, and found her to be an interesting companion and was starting to make a bond with her. As a result of this they had even formed a new team between the two of them, Cryptic Tempest.

It had only been a few days since then, but things were seeming to calming down well. However, there was a lot to get used to now. He had his new body, but how exactly did one get used to a new body? The biggest issue was he didnt even have a clue how to answer that question so he was just trying his best to see if he could reach a place where he at least felt like he used to, even it was just a tiny bit. That's not even mentioning the conversation between himself and Ardere. That was a very question filled talk that he was pretty sure that Ardere was more confused after the conversation then he was before they had it. He also had to get a new guild tattoo during the process. However, it was all done now and things could start moving in a forward motion from this point forward.

It was slowly moving into the evening of the day and Wolfe was getting hungry and decided to make his way to the guildhall next door and get some food in the tavern.

Wolfe made his way into the tavern and sat down at one of the tables and as the waitress was walking over she smiled and asked if Wolfe wanted the usual. Wolfe of course smirked a little as he gave a light laugh. It was sad they knew him this well already, but at the same time it was nice to see that the few people still here after returning had accepted his new appearance so quickly. He shook his head yes as he smirked and laughed a little. She nodded and turned and walked back to let the cook know about the order. Wolfe leaned back as he closed his eyes for a few minutes as gathered his thoughts.

Being back felt…strange. There really wasn’t another word for it. For one thing she’d barely made a few connections before dipping off to parts unknown, skulking in various tombs and probably a few places she shouldn’t have been. That’d lead to the other issue she now sported, the woman free and yet always aware of constraints now placed upon her. It was like being a tethered dog she imagined: no matter how long the line went she knew someone stood at the other end. She almost went off on the poor messenger who’d delivered the “greeting” from what she fondly referred to as “That Asshat.” All sorts of colorful words and languages – some from other cultures – spewed right out of her mouth when she’d been done being slack jawed over it, sure that somehow That Asshat must’ve planned it.

That same moment did lead to her latest ally so she couldn’t be completely despondent over things. She knew from Faeral’s memories that the man fought valiantly, whole-heartedly, and with a fervor she could use at times. The fact that he didn’t mind her bark too much merely added another tally mark to his positive column. Actually getting to know him though led to their eventual team and hopefully beneficial relationship.

More importantly than all that: nobody touched her room. Things remained exactly where the woman left them – she’d have noticed with her unusual alarm system. None of the cursed objects looked empty to her odd eyesight, the woman able to see into them and note that the weird magics inside them continued to slumber, undisturbed. This meant there existed a layer of dust on most things, but nothing a day’s worth of cleaning and airing out the room couldn’t cure.

Lost in thought the woman belatedly realized how late it became, unable to help pondering a couple of “what ifs?” Food sounded appealing though a mix of laziness and wariness prevented her from going anywhere other than the tavern right now. She’d need to leave the fictional safety and comfort of the guild, but for now it provided just that and Rohma enjoyed it. It’d been one of the reasons she bothered joining one of them in the first place. ’Though the last time I recall eating there I think a bunch of hooligans showed up n’ ruined my pancakes…bastards.’ Her sweet tooth wasn’t particularly aching right then so she didn’t fear for the loss of yet another plate of delectable delights.

Placing an order for spaghetti at the bar itself, she hardly swept over the tables before spying a certain fellow and a small, half-smile lit up her face. A short walk and there she was, pulling out a chair and plopping down even as she mockingly asked, ”Don’t mind if I join you, do ya?” Her lips quirked up a little, revealing a small flash of pearly whites. Call it an odd comfort, though she definitely didn’t know the fellow prior to her little "trip," it was strangely nice to know she hadn’t been the only one on an extended absence.

Wolfe instantly lost himself in thought as he closed his eyes. He was thinking over a lot of things most of which was recent home coming. When he had first come back he had taken a few days to himself before returning back to his old home and his workshop. At first he wasn't sure if he was going to return to his old ways at all. He was a new person, both in body and in spirit. However, it ht him that the only things that he still had that was HIS was his mind, and he would be damned if he let anyone take that away from him. So he had just taken back his old home and shop.

As Wolfe sat there with his eyes closed thinking of all this he lost track of the world around him and of time a little as he finally starting to unwind a little.

Wolfe was calmly sitting there with his eyes closed sill when he heard the voice that jared him from his thoughts and back to the real world, but this voice he knew well and was getting to know better, so he didn't mind. He smiled a little as he made a opening swiping motion to indicate the table was open and she was welcomed to sit where she pleased. He still hadn't opened his eyes as he spoke "So how are you this evening dear? I would ask what brings you here, but i would have to assume based on the time, your here for diner as well." Wolfe finally opened his eyes as he looked over at Rohma who had now taken a seat at his table.

He leaned forward as place his elbows on the table and brought his hands to his face and rubbed his face a little before he laid them on the table in front of him and continued "I do have some interesting news though. It seems my AI is almost prepped to be fully installed in the guildhall. Which mean everyone will have access to it soon. Ardere is a little weirded out by it still but it will really help bring the guild to a new level. RAINE will be able to help so much, plus it will be nice to see my invention really come to life and expand as a personality. How about you? anything new or interesting going on with you right now. I know neither of us have been back too long." Wolfe turned just as the waitress made her way to the table with the first three plates of Wolfe's food and his drinks. He motioned for Rohma to dig in is she saw anything she liked.

Wolfe then dug into his food as he listened to anything his new partner might have to say.

Ever the gentleman Wolfe didn’t turn her away, too relaxed to really care it seemed. A momentary smirk in lieu of a laugh was all the answer he would’ve needed for his guess, the snort having to suffice with his eyes closed. Awaiting the plates the woman didn’t have to ask to know the table would soon be filled with his “dinner” – the man able to stow an amazing amount of food in that body. For all the reading of the man’s inner workings…there were some things her special knowledge and sight couldn’t fully answer. The woman decided in the end it boiled down too “he required copious amounts of energy” – a hypothesis that always caused an inner chuckle. Her answer of, ”Fine,” answered the prior query, the atmosphere too relaxed to require an unnecessarily deep answer.

” ‘AI’ hmm?” New news to her. When one looked at Wolfe they didn’t initially get a tech vibe, though she’d readily admit her impression came painted a little from another’s influence as well. More than just muscle though she could appreciate someone who liked to tinker and explore even if in a different sense to her. ”Can’t say that there is, just been cleanin’ out the digs, but pleased to see nobody disturbed my room. Wouldn’t envy the sum they’d have to pay to get things reversed if they did,” she chuckled a bit, letting that slide away as the plates started arriving. The first batch easily all belonged to him, Rohma stealing a morsel here and there. In the next wave her food arrived, the woman now more occupied with curling noodles around her fork as she raised an eyebrow at her partner, ” ‘Sides I’m more curious about this AI. RAINE you called it? What’s it ‘sposed to do? Though guess I’m not wholly surprised Ards might question it. Not saying he’s tech unsavvy, but something tells me it’s not his forte or main interest either.”

No, from what she gathered Ardere remained more in touch with his home roots, or that’s what it felt like to her. He stood more for the sword than a computer and concerned about the guild itself. His concern for the guild and people as a whole though charmed her enough to come to this guild, among other things. However this AI thing sounded intriguing, the woman wondering exactly how it’d benefit everybody. ’Wonder how long before some fellow tries to use it to spy on the women’s hot springs or bath?’ Though she wondered what kind of limitations might be in place and traps for those who tried to get around them. Call her cautious and maybe a little conniving, but she hoped they were good ones. ’Well he’d probably accept suggestions too, though not like I couldn’t leave my own traps.’ If someone had the word “PERVERT” hovering over their head for a week people would easily get the message, the thought bringing an amused tilt to her lips as she speared more pasta.

Wolfe listened to Rohma as he ate and drank, taking note of all her questions and when she was done he took a second to explain "Well the AI is a fully functional artificial intelligence unit. I made it as a two part system a data entry system that resembles archive magic, it you have ever seen that. The other part is a 3D hologram that can be interacted with and you can ask it questions and stuff and she will answer them and talk to you." Wolfe took another bite of his food as he thought about the fact that Ard really wasn't the tech driven kind of fellow.

Wolfe finished his plate and started in on another as he continued to answer her questions about the AI "Well... as for what it is supposed to do. It is meant to make life easier for everyone in the guild. Each person will have a part of the memory to store information anyone might want to keep records of. To make it better, that information is only allowed to be accessed by that person. As for Ardere, yeah that is true. He is very attached to his home, which is obvious by the nature of the guild. It is my understanding that this whole guild's look and feel are based on his home land." Wolfe then continued to eat his food as he continued to chat with Rohma about anything and everything that came up topic wise. They talked into the evening as they ate their food and eventually when they were done, they parted ways and Wolfe made his way to his room.

After a few hours Wolfe laid down to rest, and shortly afterwards he passed out for the night.

It wasn't long after he fell into slumber. However, this night's dreams came in the form of a wicked vision. It started with a darkness that swept over his whole dream, then a spirit pierced the darkness and spoke to him. Wolfe couldn't remember what the spirit was saying, but shortly after the spirit faded away leaving nothing but darkness Wolfe woke up. The only thing he could seem to remember was one word, and he couldn't forget it "Kyoka". Wolfe wasn't sure what the name meant but he intended to find out once he woke up in the morning. Wolfe fell back to sleep, but the rest of his night was filled with a dreamless sleep.

At the mention of archive magic Rohma’s eyes lit up a little. ’A collection of data essentially then all connected to this being…and we can all add to it…intriguing.’ Her father utilized the very magic, the easy-going researcher not one for fighting so much as information collecting. Rohma would no doubt be playing with this entity when it went live in their guild, though at the same time she’d be careful about what went in regardless of security measures. Someone of her likes knew a thing or two about loopholes and workarounds. If the entity could connect to the same databases other archive mages utilized…well it’d provide quite a bounty of knowledge at their fingertips.

Eventually the duet devolved into simple chit chat, from the aesthetics to their guild and beyond as she slowly ate her plate – occasionally picking a thing here or there from his – and Wolfe charged through his plethora of plates. At some point she mused that with the right manners he would be a good man to have at a multi-course dinner, able to pack it away and more…but thought a buffet might be more his style. ’Though I imagine if he eats like this he might’ve been banned a time or two.’

After parting ways the woman eventually readied herself for bed and flopped onto the comfy mattress, happier to return than she initially thought. The notion that she didn’t have to be on high alert brought with it a quick slumber, further thoughts of AIs and buffets ceasing all too quickly.

    ”Please…please…please…”

The last vestiges of the dream faded, hazy blue eyes creaking open with a slight groan. ’Kyoka?’ Some entity wanted her to go through a portal to a place she’d only read about so far for a purpose she didn’t recall hearing. The stranger thing stemmed from the fact it lacked a proper dream-like feeling to it. In dreams Rohma often quickly lost the illusion of “this is reality” and rolled her eyes at the silly situations her brain crafted and the weirder rules to those dream bubbles. It was rare for one to bear an idea she liked enough to implement in real life to boggle the minds of enemies but this…this existed on a whole other level. One that left her compelled to travel to this place at the urging of some mysterious being.

Bag packed, Rohma double checked her pistols, certainly not going anywhere unprepared. They came up in working order so she clipped them at her sides, accompanying blades strapped a little lower. Wrapped up the confusion of the events eyes widened at seeing her latest partner similarly prepared, a quick and unsure conversation confirming they’d encountered similar dreams, or premonitions she supposed.

When they finally found themselves in front of the portals she could only whistle, ”Crazy…to think these things link to other planets…” Narrowing her eyes a little she nearly whistled again at the complex coding flittering about the portals themselves. The laws binding their inner workings left her a bit speechless, fingers on her dominant hand twitching as she traced some of them mentally.

After waking Wolfe packed lightly as he always did. Luckily he didn't need much to travel, Loki, and maybe a few bars of compact energy that Wolfe was still working on. They were like little rations for him, but he was trying to find a way to compact certain ingredients to get the most energy out of one source. He had just finished his light packing and made his way just outside his home and was met by his teammate and after some talk their shared dream brought them here, as they were now standing in front of the portal to Kyoka. As Wolfe stared down the portal itself, he couldn't help but be intrigued. He had been all over Fiore and had spent a decent amount of time outside it's borders as well, but in all his traveling he had never made his way to the portals. Either way now was not the time to marvel though. Something about their shared dream seemed to weight heavy on him. Wolfe turned to Rohma and nodded as he stepped forward into the portal, Rohma quickly in tow.

The feeling was both something he could not explain but would also never forget. If he had to put words to it, it was as if each cell in his body was pulled away then filled with energy as they flew for what seemed like only a second but felt like and eternity as the same time. It could have been ten years, ten minutes, ten seconds or even just the blink of an eye, but Wolfe couldn't tell, but the next thing he knew he was standing in a new world and moments later Rohma appeared as well. It took only a few seconds for Wolfe to adjust to his new surroundings. From the look of it, this world shared a basic same look to him, but the sky was filled with a light glowing that seemed to fill the sky from one end of the sky to the other as far as one could see. This light even seemed to linger along the scenery itself, almost like a light mist in the distance. As he took note of the physical differences he started to notice another one and within a few seconds he could feel the difference. At first it was hard to place but then he could pinpoint the feeling to his magic energy. It seemed that while in this world one's magic presence was increased. This was an interesting note, that Wolfe made sure to make a point of and keep it in mind later.

Wolfe went to turn and say something to Rohma when IT appeared. Right in front of Wolfe's face appeared a bright white floating ball of light. The appearance of this new addition out of nowhere got the better of Wolfe and he stumbled back a step as he gathered himself. As he stepped back the ball closed the distance almost instantly was back in Wolfe's Face then all the sudden it started to make a circle around him as it lowered. After about two whole passes around it reached the ground then suddenly shot over to Rohma and did the same. As best as Wolfe could tell this little white ball seemed to be looking them up and down as if to judge them or maybe even inspect them. Wolfe knew not a lot of people made their way through these portals, but they were far from the first being to come here, so Wolfe wasn't sure what to make of this thing's actions. However, the one thing he could admit was it seemed almost welcoming and it was almost instantly obvious that it meant no harm. As it circled Rohma Wolfe took a better look at their new friend and this ball seemed to be a collection of pure energy, but at the same time it seemed to be sentient from it's actions, or at least was being controlled by unseen force that was. However, Wolfe wasn't sure yet, and he figured this bit of information would be shown in time.

After it's inspection of both himself and Rohma it flew up and past Wolfe as it stopped a few yards in front of them and then started to move slowly then stopped, then moved forward yet again only to stop after about another yard. The best he could tell this thing was acting like it intended for them to follow it. Wolfe glanced back to Rohma, and after her acknowledgement he turned forward again and started to follow behind the ball as it started moving forward again, Rohma walking right near Wolfe. Dispite any of Rohma's comments Wolfe had remained silent up to this point, but he did respond with a nod or head shake as needed. This whole ordeal was starting to put the beast on edge. He knew when something was coming, and this was as they said the calm before the storm.

Bubbles of giddiness raced through her veins, the girl easily admitting that the little trip proved far more exhilarating than she initially believed it would be. Sometimes a bit of a speed junky the rush and pulling of her very existence as the portal jettisoned them to a completely new planet. ’Already can’t wait to go home now,’ she thought with a small, lopsided grin. She’d definitely mentally record those words, curious on other applications in both teleportation and simple, well, thrill. ’Not that there aren’t some fun combat purposes too I guess…well no matter.’

Neither were left alone for long as the same orb from the dream wove around them like an excitable dog, or at least that was her impression. Watching the brawler back away from the sudden onset of the entity amused her, the thing eventually giving her a few whorls before settling in front of her for a few moments. Words of a forgotten language slipped out of her mouth, mumbled so low she almost couldn’t hear herself say them, though she held the odd certainty the entity understood them. In fact it almost felt…happy to hear them, reassured somehow.

Soon it started pulling them towards a destination, eager to push on for reasons she started vaguely understanding from the dream before. ’Without its purpose fulfilled it can’t move on…chained to both this form and life…hmm…’ The full picture eluded her, but Rohma felt as though she should’ve known this. At the same time she could almost feel someone laughing at her for some reason.

Through their journey however the woman remained relatively silent. This world entranced her. From the way the air glowed to each and every step. Magic constantly assaulted them, flowing into them and it felt a little intoxicating. A few ideas sparked inside, ones she quickly shoved to the furthest recesses of her mind. These couldn’t remain in the open, not when the woman hadn’t fully grasped how secure the hold that thing held over her. Did he survey each and every thought? Could he? Or were things screened in some way, like placing a filter to catch them? Instead of focusing on a few “what ifs” and “could bes” Rohma let her mind flow towards other possibilities with this enhancement. This world fascinated her almost as much as the portal to it, the scenery similar to their world and yet the words…the words surrounding them, creating the rules of this land…stood vastly different.

But she couldn’t let herself get too enthralled either. Dark possibilities lay in some of the thoughts. Ones she refused to touch. It was a reminder some of the self-imposed limitations she set on herself, refusing to cross certain lines without one hell of a reason.

Ears perked up as sounds of a scuffle became more audible, a manly voice cursing even as a female one shrieked with barely contained rage at something. The words “stupid mutts” could be vaguely heard even as something otherworldly groaned or…did it just quietly roar? An odd sound to place, Rohma decided it sounded like something was quietly or painfully annoyed, unable to bellow to its full capabilities and yet refusing to remain completely silent. The group slowed, caution forcing even the orb to slow its erratic movements. Peering through some oversized leaves Rohma raised an eyebrow at the scene.

Some yards away stood a cloaked duet, the same man and woman cursing that could be heard a little further down the climbing, rocky stairs. Skinny – too skinny as she thought about it – canines danced around the man, nipping at him and yet scurrying away from blasts shooting from his hand and causing more cursing. Only one so far succumbed to one of his attacks, the thing laying lifelessly off to the side as the other four continued their dance, apparently desperate to get at the man’s meaty calves and innards. His female companion grumbled, close-mouthed screamed, and generally made all sorts of “inner rumbly” noises as she continuously shot fire balls and flares towards an earthen elemental. The clunky being sounded more annoyed at being heated up, making half-hearted swipes at the woman, who nimbly dodged them with more annoyed sounds in her wake. From the looks of it the thing took a few beatings already, chunks broken off and cracks apparent even as parts of its normally brown and grey surface gained scorch marks and others turned a slight orange when she kept concentrated beams on it.

”I dunno…I think they might have this one…” she mumbled with a mixture of amusement, half-hearted pity, and sarcasm. The two floundered spectacularly, but so far things appeared more in their favor than their attackers. ”I ‘spose we should probably give ‘em a hand though or we’ll be here all day.” As entertaining as the show was, their path required getting past the odd group, the path leading them up to this clearing and between two cliff sides.

Wolfe continued to follow the small ball of light as he thought about what was to come. It didn't take long before he could feel something ahead. Then a few moment later Rohma responded just as he felt she would. She had good senses about her and he caught on tot he trouble ahead as well. Wolfe had already picked up on it and knew how many enemies there were. Other's might think Wolfe had insane senses, but in reality he as cheating. His power over lightning had grown to the point where he could reach out and feel the static in the air. All forms of movement made static and he could feel this and pick up details.

However, Wolfe wanted Rohma to hone in on her senses, so he didn't say anything, and at her reaction he was happy to see she was on top of it. Wolfe stopped and watched as Rohma walked over and made her way over to where she could get a god look at the fight that was taking place. Wolfe could already tell there were 7 participants involved, but he could only feel magical presence from 2 of them, so he figured the others could be anything, well besides the 1 elemental based being. Wolfe could also tell that one of the beings involved was an elemental, and of an element he wasn't too fond of dealing with in a combat sense.

Wolfe walked up behind Rohma and took a glance of the scene for himself and listened at Rohma's comment and she was right, they would need to deal with this pesky issue before moving on. However, despite what his companion was hinting at he knew none of these people or things were their ally. Even if they helped these robed figures, they were no friends of Rohma and him. Over years of fighting and watching others Wolfe like any other survivor get a sixth sense about stuff like this. Maybe his senses weren't really supernatural like some might think, but his ability to look at a scene and know how to gauge enemy from foe might very well be unnatural.

Wolfe looked at Rohma and ave her that look that she would know meant this was go and to engage. Wolfe broke the line first as he come out from behind te small area they were hiding from. He made a straight bee line for the two mages as he nodded for Rohma to make the wolves her priority.

Wolfe barreled right down upon the two mages that had now turned their attention at Wolfe. Both of them turned their efforts at Wolfe as they both began to cast a spell with him as their obvious target. The male managed a decent sized fireball right at Wolfe's head, which caused him to have to hit the ground and do a tuck and roll to his left. However, the female seemed to cast a spell but for one reason or another after a few seconds her eyes went blank and look of confusion overtook her. It was almost as if her spell failed or something. Wolfe wasn't sure what to think but he didn't intend to give either of them any time to to think about what had or not had happened.

Wolfe took off at full speed and just as the mages were about to cats another set of spells, he had closed the gap and as the male went to use a fire breath magic Wolfe turned into a bolt and shot down and hit the ground between his legs and shot behind him and reformed. As he did he reached out both his arms and wrapped them around the male mage from behind and grabbed the mage in a grapple like he intended to suplex him. Wolfe then lifted up and raised the man just like a suplex however at the height of the lift he pulled his left arm back and slid his left leg back and turned as he brought the mage down and with his right arm following through as he drove him into the ground with a slam. The man's body made a twitching movement once or twice but he was totally out of it. The woman saw this and she realized instantly she was in way over her head. As she went to turn and Run, Wolfe reached out and grabbed her by the back of her robes and yanked her back and aimed a well placed blow tot eh back of head and knocked her out. Wolfe let go of the robe and her body fell to the ground in a lump.

Wolfe then turned towards the last of the group the earth based atronoch. Wolfe tilted his head as he pondered on what to do wth it. So far it had been sow to react since Wolfe and Rohma had just kind of crashed the scene out of nowhere, but it was now figuring them to be ti's enemy. Wolfe yelled out to the atronoch as it started to focus on Rohma who was still finishing up with t he wolves. It turned to look at Wolfe and with the motion of it's arm, pieces of the ground ripped up and flew at Wolfe. He just shook his head and as each piece reach him he threw out a punch and each piece was reduced to rubble as his fist met the flying chunk of earth. the kept up for a few before Wolfe yelled at it again and then made a pointing motion for it to look behind itself at Rohma who was now right behind it and readying an attack. Wolfe then didn't even bother to watch as he knew Rohma had this and turned and walked a few feet back towards the direction of the path and looked into the distance. He was thinking and he knew this was not the end of the road bumps to come.

Wolfe waited there until l Rohma joined him again before they oth set out back along the path with their glowing friend leading the way.

Post by Rohma 28th June 2016, 4:55 am

Despite the fact they knew very little about the people currently undergoing a few…”issues” ahead of them, the dark and dreary robes of “badassery” or “darkness” or…well whatever it was they were going for didn’t generally indicate something good. In an entertaining way the struggling duet reminded Rohma of classically over characterized bad guys from kid’s shows and plays. It was as if they wanted to live out some dream about becoming super villains, something even as a child Rohma often raised an eyebrow and gave a highly critical remark about being “obvious, and thus obviously stupid.” Even a child would look at them, listen to their current words, and realize how unsavory the pair was. ’Well someone’s gotta set the lower standards too.’

A simple nod: they’d be joining the fray.

Like a gentleman he went straight for the two goons bumbling about, dealing with their fowl mouths while simultaneously scaring the mutts away from the male. They knew when a higher hunter came onto the scene. Hunger compelled them to find a quick, new target – or possibly wait this confrontation out. Lady Luck dealt them a poor hand today though, Rohma not eager to have a pack of hungry wolves potentially trailing them either for scraps or their hides. Pistols in hand, a shot cracked through the air and implanted itself in the body of one of the wolves. The thin, haggard creature rolled a few times as it’d already begun a charge, tripping over its large paws with a yip of pain. Only one of the other two ceased running, concern for its life now weighing far more heavily over the idea of immediate and desperate food.

The other continued on, something it wouldn’t live to regret as it passed its tumbling pack mate. Passed merely by a head, the bullet now lodged inside finally activated, the spell weaving through the fallen and whimpering canine and granted its persistent ally no time to respond.

    He exploded.

Fixing things required far more work and skill, but destruction remained easy as ever. Writing words to mend wounds demanded a little more finesse and personalization towards the entity – human, canine, tree, etc – because of each being’s complexity, but you stick an explosive inside anything and the same thing happened. For Rohma it was a matter of creating the bullet with the code “explode” and once the bullet touched that target that area went “kaboom!” She merely needed a quick explosion, but anything in the torso generally didn’t go over well in the end. The other mangy mutt found itself lying there, dazed and wearing the blood of its newly fallen brethren. Rohma wasted little time firing a regular bullet through its skull. No need to let it suffer too long.

Blue eyes turned towards the last one only to witness the thing running off with its tail between its legs. A small bit of pity welled up that it’d likely starve if it’d just lost the rest of the pack here, but there remained little she could do about it now. ’Whether it make it from here on’s up to it I guess. We got bigger fish to fry.’

Wolfe’s yell caught her attention, head whipping about to realize the elemental must’ve started focusing on her as its body and attention turned away. ’Shit.’ The man avoided the earthen creature’s attacks, going so far as to break them while keeping its attention. ’Gonna need something a little stronger for this guy…hmm…’ Unlike the wolves the atronoch’s make-up proved different. It wasn’t an organic being like them, able to survive losing bits and pieces – partially why it could survive a beat down to some incredible lengths as it had been. Its life flowed through the earthy chunks of dirt and rock, binding it together in a more unique way than flesh. It wouldn’t be a flashy way, Rohma more concerned with the thing not knocking a few dents into Wolfe quite yet than getting “Elemental Kill of the Week” or something. Four shots rang out as the thing’s attention shifted to her courtesy of her white haired partner, spread from head to its legs. The action seemed to confuse it as its head tilted, the bullets lodged merely on the surface and hardly physically phasing it. A purple cloud burst from it as if someone dusted out a blanket that sat in the attic too long and the thing then collapsed. Expulsion. She’d forced the magical energy providing life out from its very body, combining the energy’s code with the actions before injecting it via bullets, careful to go the length of it due to sheer size. She didn’t want it wanly coming back to life and hobbling after them.

”Not sure if it can take a dirt nap or is a dirt nap so I’ll keep my comments to m’self,” the gave half a grin whilst holstering the two pistols. Sparing one last look to the wolves, she rejoined her partner in their quest down the narrow canyon path, curious where both it and the light-entity might lead them too. Though only after a few turns it blessedly opened to a much wider expanse, the dark haired mage happy to escape narrow spaces when possible.

After the fray was over and Rohma joined Wolfe where he was walking along he spoke up "Well that was interesting... they were dark mages most likely, and that means most likely there are more around and we should watch out for them. I know you saw the fire using one, but the other one i am not sure what she was using. It almost seemed like her magic failed or didn't work. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but she was just as surprised as i was. I could tell from her face. So make sure if we run into more of them, you watch out for what ever that might have been. Next time it might work...but in the meantime i guess our shiny friend still has someplace it intends to lead us to. it would be rude not to follow" The warning part of Wolfe's little speech was obvious serious, but at the comment about their shiny friend his tone obviously changed and he turned just enough for Rohma to see him wink with a smirk before turning back forward and continuing forward

Wolfe was playing it off as if it wasn't a big deal, but in truth he was really trying to put a result to a failed magic. He wasn't sure why it hadn't gone off, and that is what worried him. If the same magic was used at Rohma would it have worked? and if so, to what extent? This was really kind of eating at Wolfe as he was sure they would run into more of these dark mages, but without any kind of details he was tuck with a head full of questions, and he knew that wasn't going to get him anywhere. He had the mind of a warrior which meant it was focused but also always thinking about the next combat and the dangers that awaited. However, this particular anomaly was going to drive him crazy unless he focused on something else.

Wolfe began to look around at the area around them and really get an idea for this world. Another day, and under different circumstances he would have to come back here and work on some of his magic. He knew that he would soon be learning real magic from Knightken. In truth Wolfe didn't actually know any real magic, he only knew how to control the basic powers of him being an elemental, such as calling forth lightning from the sky, and throwing a little of it around near him. However, that was really all he could do. so after he learned some magic from Knightken he wold come here to give him a nie boost to help train it and get used to actually casting it.

Wolfe was letting his mind wander but realized he was getting too far away from the here and now and straightened his thoughts back to the moment. He focused on their shiny guide as he continued to float this way and that as it continued forward leading them into a complete unknown path that Wolfe could feel something would be coming down soon enough.

Post by Rohma 29th June 2016, 5:50 am

What were they planning? Rohma pondered if they held any actual use for the wolf or elemental, or if that’d been merely a run of bad luck. ’The wolves definitely came off as a stream of bad luck…but I don’t know…seemed like the guy might’ve been wearing the elemental down more than actively trying to take it out.’ The thing did look beaten to heck and back, but the life force that remained inside the rock when she truly looked didn’t strike her as something that’d been savagely beaten. Just…tired out at best.

’And more than that…’ Walking behind her partner and their orbish leader, Rohma couldn’t help giving him a scan too. She hadn’t been able to glimpse the failed spell so its components remained a mystery to her, too wrapped up in the wolves at the time, so it left her wondering too at his questions. ’It was too late to tell what happened to the dead wolf by the time we got there…so what’d she try on him that didn’t work?' Then again seeing his sort of…”composition” still fascinated her as well. What lead him to that state of being? He felt oddly reworked to her, the words inside broken and snapped together in a different format…well, she wouldn’t pry into it at this time. Instead she’d have to be wary, sure that whatever it’d been could affect her too.

Things happened a bit too quickly for her liking soon after they made it out of the pass. That moment of freedom drained away as tension filled her, raucous sounds filling the air. Something akin to an increase of static crackled through the air and then light assaulted her vision, causing the woman to squint as a too-bright lightning atronoch whizzed around a corner, energy snapping off its body. So illuminous she almost couldn’t make out the water one not far behind it. Habitually shifting her vision, she saw the chaotic jumble of words that comprised the being of both elementals, movement beyond the words of the rocky wall to their right ensured these two wouldn’t be their only dance partners.

”More incoming,” she warned, drawing her pistols. There unfortunately wasn’t a lot of time left before the lightning atronoch would reach them, the water one not far behind. Unfortunately they stood in the way of the escaping elementals’ freedom, one side merely a rocky wall and the other side a sheer drop to a sea of trees down below. While they could move about in the clearing, they’d still have to be mindful about going over the edge and she doubted the spooked beings would merely fly by without a thought – humans pursuing them and now ahead? Yeah no chance in hell they wouldn’t view it like a trap. Her sights went towards the water being, quickly trying to configure the best method to deal with it before the four mages racing towards them caught up, figuring Mr. Lightning Rod himself could take on the lightning atronoch. He certainly had an affinity for the type and if there’d been type she might’ve gone so far as to make a joke about that one being “just his type” or something equally as bad.

Unlike last time she wouldn’t outright kill the liquidized elemental – not yet at least – firing a bullet towards the odd creature. As it touched upon the flowing form its glowing white eyes widened for a moment before it splattered across the area. A few seconds as the action sunk in and the secondary effect to the bullet truly sunk in the people started coming around the corner, this time a quartet of men yelling about capturing “them” – undoubtedly the same water and lightning being they were dealing with now. The splotches of water became thicker though, more gelatin-like as they slowly tried to slime their way back into a single entity, creating a slippery area and causing the first man – who entered the scene without really looking – to slip and slide out of control right towards them. The others managed to slow themselves down quicker, not falling for the trick as readily.

Post by Wolfe 29th June 2016, 9:20 pm

As they continued down the path Wolfe was clearing his mind as he was now focusing on how when they got back from this job that Ardere would be doing both his and Rohma's A rank exams. This meant he was almost there and ready to head to the next step. He was thinking forward to the jump to A rank and new set of jobs that would be open for him to pick up. He didn't plan on spending long as an A rank though. Unlike B rank that he had been for far too long die to his time away he planned on plowing right through to S rank. This combined with the soon to be training with Nightken meant he would making sure steps forward and soon enough he would be strong enough to make sure that nothing could ever hold him back again, and no force could deny him what he desired. The skies would know his name one day and he refused to give up his dreams of being considered one of Fiore's strongest. He grew up as a no one and was cared for by no one, and he refused to leave this world the same way.

It was about this very moment that Wolfe felt the upcoming presences of beings heading in their direction. However, one of them really stuck out. Wolfe's eyes opened as he could feel the presence of strong electrical currents in the air. They had already ran into a earth based atronoch, so Wolfe could only hope this was a lightning based one and if it was, this was going to get way more fun then he could have ever foreseen. After only a few moments Wolfe's hope was confirmed as he saw both a lightning and water atronoch come barreling around the corner and right into their hands. Wolfe saw out of the corner of his eye as Rohma drew her guns and placed a shot into the water based atronoch, blowing a piece of it off onto the ground leaving a puddle of sorts, leaving the lightning one for Wolfe. He figured she had planed it that way and left the lightning one for him, and he would have to thank her for that later. As the lightning atronoch continued at them, Wolfe dashed forward and threw out his left hand and caught the atronoch around it's neck and lifted it into the air and swung his arm to the left as he held the elemental creature like that, with it's feet dangling about a foot off the ground. Instantly Wolfe felt the the effects of it's attempts to get free.

As each arc of lightning touched Wolfe he could feel his body absorbing it and adding to his power. It had actually been quite a long while since the last time he had the chance to just sit around and absorb lightning or electricity in any form. The atronoch in his hand struggled as best it could trying to shock Wolfe into letting it go, and he just kept absorbing everything it tried, as it kept trying to fry and electrocute Wolfe.

A moment later four more dark mages came running around the corner as well. They seemed about on par with the last ones, as none of them seemed to be that powerful and from what it looked like were doing the manual labor. It seemed they had been chasing down the atronochs for some purpose. Wolfe could think of a few reasons, and none of which played out well in his mind, if any of them were still awake at the end of this he would have to ask them, but with each moment of this power surge Wolfe felt less and less that anyone would still be standing. He had no intention of killing any of them, but he wasn't doing to be able to hold back either as he was already enjoying this. The first of the mages to turn the corner slipped on a spot of water that had been blown off the water atronoch when Rohma had shot it. He fell backwards and slid right at them. Wolfe placed out his right foot with the heal down and the top of his boot pointed up. The mage came to an abrupt stop as his slid right into Wolfe foot with a loud thud. Wolfe then smirked as then brought his right foot back and kicked it forward and caught the mage mid body and kicked him into the air and into one of the other mages and they both went down tot he ground. The other two mages stopped in their tracks as they saw their friend get kicked right past them and they both at the same time brought their hands in front of them and a second later a ball of fire shot out both of their hands and right at Wolfe.

Wolfe just smirked as he cracked his neck to the left and stepped forward with his right foot and then brought his right hand out his hand held out with his hand open and palm facing out and caught the blunt of the blast with just his hand.
As the blast his his hand a loud
    BOOOOM!!
was heard and the crackling of electricity could be heard.

A second later the smoke from the blast started to dissipate and Wolfe stood there his hand out stretched. He had stopped the blunt of both blast with just his one hand, which was still crackling from small arcs of electricity coming off of it. Wolfe's eye rolled back into his head for a second as he took a deep breath and then his eyes returned back into view he let out that breath very slowly, his smirk growing wider. This power surge from the atronoch was intoxicating to Wolfe and he could feel his power rising more with each second. His muscles getting stronger, and faster, his senses becoming more in tune and the beast in him clawing closer to the surface begging to be released upon his enemies.

’Just as planned.’ It didn’t take much to figure the man would get a kick – literally – from the other atronoch. Lightning surged off it, the being using a predictable move to regain its freedom: shock its captor. The thing held the misfortune to act more like a battery for the man however and charging him up for the real encounter ahead. After a certain point he’d probably reach over 9000 or something in terms of power levels, but Rohma wouldn’t be actively watching it rise as she watched her partner basically punt the sliding bastard all the way back to his friends. One of his friends caught him in an impromptu hug and they flew back a bit to have a moment of privacy whether they liked it or not, the pair landing with a groan.

Though the problem with a sudden power surge in her partner: Rohma lacked prior experience. Instinct told the woman to maybe get some distance herself from the man just to, well, be on the safe side really. Running a few steps she shot another bullet ahead, vanishing the instant after and reappearing beyond the two stunned fellows now facing down a charged up Wolfe – unknowingly to them another elemental. ’Spose if they knew they’d be keen on capturing him too…though something tells me he’s a lot harder to pin down than these more simple beings.’ If they’d been smart they’d have turned the other way, although she granted them that…at this juncture it’d be too late. They’d walked right into the wolf’s den and would be paying the price.

The two still standing would be all his, the man now bearing energy to burn so she wanted to check out the two who flew off further down the path. From the looks of things they’d hit one of the water spots from the other atronoch she’d basically splattered and ended up sliding further away from the battle. ’A bit o’ backup couldn’t hurt though,’ she decided. The puddles around her glowed for a moment before converging on her, seemingly absorbed into both pistols as the secondary effect of the spell activated. The poor thing would end up being an impromptu ally now, but in the end it’d probably make it out with its life just in a delayed fashion that might leave it a bit cranky.

Stumbling upon the guy who received the full brunt of Wolfe’s boot, her breath caught: where was the other guy? He’d evidently already shoved his somewhat conscious friend off and managed to get up while she’d followed their small slime trail. They’d ended up further propelled away by an incline in the path, leading them down to a smaller secondary clearing, this one lush with plant life and likely what ceased their progression as the grass cushioned the remaining force. ’Except he’s got plenty of hiding spots now.’

”You could just set it all on fire. I’m pretty sure that’s well within your capabilities.”

Teeth grit in anger before she gasped, barely dodging a fireball. It grazed her shoulder, sizzling skin and some of her hair as it flew past and she caught sight of the fellow as he cursed. ”Shut it you, I certainly don’t need YOUR input!” she mentally hissed back.

”The differences truly are remarkable. Maybe the others could’ve been salvageable too if they’d run into similar mistakes…you really act so…’human’ that it’s a little astonishing at times.”

She swung both pistols down towards her legs, hearing the audible ’click!’ as the blades locked into place and she brought them up in time to stop a fiery punch from landing. Blood splattered on the ground from the initial cut as the man jumped back, holding the gash on his injured arm. Already another spell charged up in his hand though and she realized that as he readied an attack he focused on cauterizing the wound as well. ’Guess they’re not completely incompetent then.’ She found it easier to ignore Faeral’s words and mocking attitude towards her lack of awareness. The dark haired woman found he liked dangling knowledge over her head, sharing only tiny tidbits with her. So far he’d only released enough to claim they were similar beings, though offered very little proof she could’ve denied it if she found the will. Just that…it was hard. Something inside acknowledged he was right and she hated it.

As a wave of flame rushed at her, Rohma shot the ground and a wall of ice erected to stop the flow before it reached her. Light wisps of heat made it around and over the wall, but nothing severe. As the thing melted the fellow found he could no longer see his opponent, unsure where or how she escaped his view in those few moments. Cold spread over one of his legs, the man looking down to see ice now locking his leg up to the thigh to the ground, a small platform stretching out around it. The quick chill of both leg and clothes irked him visibly, a hand raising to try and rectify it even if it might cause some singing until his hand met a similar fate.

Rohma used the last of the absorbed water atronoch to freeze him in place, the two able to duke it out later once the water being melted enough. A brief thought to send him flying off into the distance rose up, but ultimately she shoved it away. Certainly didn’t want to satisfy her captor’s senses at all, let alone his musings. He could stay a hunk of ice, though watching, she realized that he’d probably end up the loser against the atronoch as it slowly started sapping magical energy from him. ’All the better as far as I care. Give him a good reason to run rather than stay and fight.’

Eyes swept over towards the other fallen fellow, his senses starting to come back to him as he pushed up only to meet the ground harshly again, a boot now planted firmly against his torso. Wincing, he opened one of his black, beady eyes only to be met with a pistol a few feet away, ”I suggest ya start talkin’: what’s up with trying to capture these elementals? You n’ your buddies got somethin’ goin’ on we should know about? If you lie you’re gonna end up like your statuesque friend over there.” Jerking her head, she watched the hesitation grow upon viewing his ice sculpture friend, rough as it may be.

Ultimately he started babbling after that, speaking a little too fast to really catch everything. From what she gleamed their “master” was performing some sort of ritual – probably for the sake of power or something, sounded as cliché as they dressed for a “dark cult” – and required the energy of the atronochs as they could harness the atmosphere’s magical energies more adeptly than any human. ’Well, either power or summoning some entity, who really knows with these guys.’ It fell quickly into a repetition of “they were ordered too” and “had no choice” and other such things so she settled for a swift kick to the head to knock the babbling looney out.

”Sounds like we got a party to crash.”

”Delightful. Do take pictures for me.”

    ’Shove off.’

Wolfe had become so enthralled with the power he was surging up from the atronoch that he almost didn't notice Rohma leave the immediate area. He figured she was just giving him his room and in truth that wasn't a terrible idea. It would allow him to kind of ut lose as he continued to pull power from the atronoch. Wolfe brought his free hand up to meet his other one around the atronoch's throat and he started to crush harder to force the creature to really give one more huge burst as it would try to free itself. Wolfe was not a cruel person and he didn't want to make the creature suffer, but this for an elemental like himself, this kind of power came so rarely that for just a few moments he would have to push aside his humanity to get the power he needed and wanted.

It didn't take long before the atronoch freaked out and gave it's all as it released a huge burst of lightning power. Wolfe closed his eyes for a second as he twisted his hands in opposite directions and crunched the neck of the creature s it's body fell to the ground and it's head fell a few inches away. During this time the last two cultist were in such a state of shock from what they had just seen that both of them hadn't even had the chance to process exactly what they had seen. However, they suddenly realized things were about to get really bad.

Wolfe couldn't even explain how good it felt as he absorbed the final attack of the atronoch. The surge of power made every part of his body shiver as surges of power rushed over it, and after only a few seconds he opened his eyes and it was obvious he was almost high on power now. He turned to face the two mages just as they were starting to freak out and both wee about to cast a spell. Wolfe could only smirk at them as he phases out and appeared right behind both of the man. The two mages couldn't even believe what they saw as Wolfe disappeared and was just gone. However, a moment later they felt his presence behind them and they both in a moment of fear spun around and tried to shoot another fire ball, but as they spun he wasn't there anymore as he phased again and appeared behind them on more time.

This was no longer even a game to Wolfe, this was less then child's play. He reached out his right hand and grabbed the man on the right by his left shoulder and as he did he had to remind himself that he wasn't going to kill these men. He lifted the man up and as he did he released a huge surge of electricity that cause the man to scream and pass out as Wolfe just tossed him to the right bout 10 yards like he was nothing more then a rag doll.

The other man went to run but as soon as his foot even started to move, Wolfe reached out and grabbed the man by the back of his neck and lifted him up off the ground. The man pleaded for his life as Wolfe just twisted his hand so the man was now almost facing Wolfe and Wolfe just shook his head as he took his right hand and hit the man in the stomach. The ages eye's rolled into the back of his head as his body went limp and Wolfe just dropped the body and it crumpled into a heap on the ground.

It was hard for Wolfe to restrain right now, not because he was a murder, but because this power felt so great and he really needed an outlet for it. He hoped there was going to be someone soon he could really let lose on. Wolfe looked at the two men he had just knocked out before he stepped over the body at his feet and started a little bit farther knowing Rohma would be along shortly.

Post by Rohma 13th July 2016, 6:42 am

Walking ahead the woman thought twice about getting too far. Sure Wolfe could catch up fast, but that was no reason to possibly walk into trouble without immediate backup. She’d made that mistake already and it cost the explorer her freedom. Leaning against a rocky wall the orb of light reappeared, the woman’s brow raising: were had it gone during everything? It danced before her eyes, swaying about as its brilliance dimmed and brightened. Call it instinct, call it whimsy: she thought it might be trying to say something. As her hand reached out the thing shot into her palm, Rohma’s pupils brightening as her eyes focused on information rather than the sights right before her.

A person stood before a pool of water, their hand commanding a spiral from the pool. Words of a language unknown spun from their lips, a new life forming into a creature similar to the atronoch she used against the mages earlier. Multiple visions mirrored it as this person created the elementals, instilling a unique energy in them. A powerful energy. She held the distinct impression the ‘creator’ might’ve been testing it with them, the atronochs merely a step in some process or experiment for them. The final thing it created before the leg of this story ended appeared to be the orb of light itself, and Rohma realized what it really was: a living security system.

’It sought out aid from willing participants…made to protect the atronochs for some reason. But…why?’ The raven haired woman ignored the part that whispered it new, unable to fully access that part and so she avoided the budding mystery altogether. ’But I don’t think that guy and the leader of this band of weirdos are the same person….’ The orb further shared a vision of these “invaders” it dubbed them, more a feeling than an outright statement from the curious being. These people and the creator held distinct differences, energies as different as their purposes in this world, though the orb couldn’t figure out the group’s intentions fully. It merely knew they were stealing from its “master.”

She could feel that man’s smile from here. A despicable Cheshire grin.

    ’I see.’

Regardless these guys needed to be stopped, their goals likely not to spread wealth and good fortune or health to the masses. ’Even if it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, guess we gotta help this creator with his project a bit.’

Once she saw her white-haired partner Rohma sighed: he still looked a bit high on power. The gunner could’ve sworn she felt static in the air the closer he got so she started walking before he came too close, ”Seems we got a group of ritualists or somethin’ to take care of…not even gonna worry if you’re ready or not though. Somethin’ tells me you’ll do just fine.” The notion brought a smirk to her face as she could at least count on him even if little else right now. It brought a bit of comfort as they trudged on through this high, canyon of a mountain.

Up ahead a temple carved into the side of the mountain became visible, large columns standing like soldiers before a large staircase. Corroded statues decorated the entryway as well, though they stood as dilapidated as the chipped stairs and cracked columns, one of the carved beings even missing their head. She really wanted to check the place out…unfortunately now wasn’t a good time. Not with the group likely making their home inside as she scanned the surroundings. ’There it is,’ a smile played across her face as she motioned for the man to follow her. Well, she wouldn’t entirely put it past him to blast through the entrance either, but Rohma preferred getting the drop on enemies whenever possible.

She’d looked into the landscape itself, letting the words of reality lead her towards one of the back entrances – or exits depending on the situation – as even ancient cultures knew better than to corner themselves without some sort of escape plan. Pushing down on a small, jutting portion of a nearby boulder a door opened in the side of the wall, still some distance from the temple itself. ”After you,” she waved her arm in front of the door, ”Unless you’d rather go through the front and I flank ‘em from the back? I’m open to the possibilities.”

Post by Wolfe 17th July 2016, 6:56 pm

Wolfe still high in his power surge was enjoying the feeling as Rohma spoke to him explaining something about a group of spiritualists or something. Wolfe figured there was something going on with all of them they had come across so far, and each time they had been messing with or chasing atronochs, so it would only make sense that the cultist were doing something with any atronoch they could catch. Wolfe knew a thing or two about forbidden magic and his mind went straight to the idea that these cultist weren't planning on throwing these atronochs a party, so most likely they were being used for some kind of nasty ritual.

Wolfe didn't know how Rohma had come to this conclusion but he wasn't going to complain, and it made sense, so he was going to go with it until the situation proved different. Either way the ball seemed like it intended for them to continue following it, so it looked like there was more to do. Wolfe followed behind Rohma and the ball as he looked around at the canyon walls. There wasn't anything in particular that stood out to him, but Wolfe loved to travel in his free time so he figured he would at least enjoy the scenery while he was here.

After a bit of walking they broke from the canyon into a larger area and just ahead of them was a fairly large temple carved into the face of the mountain side. The ball seemed to want them to go to this temple, so Wolfe assumed this is where the group of cultist Rohma was talking about was. Under different circumstances Wolfe would love to just explore this temple and enjoy it. However, it seemed it was business time and Wolfe was about to clock in.

Wolfe smirked at Romha comment about using the front door "Well, it would be rude if i didn't use the front door. So how about you go find that back door while i go do the neighborly thing." Wolfe gave Rohma a wink as he started towards the front doors of the temple.

Once he reached them He took a second as he out stretched his arms and looked up to the sky. Moments later the sound of thunder could be heard and then a out of nowhere a series of four lighting bolts fell from the sky one right after the other and they all landed and connected with Wolfe. With each strike Wolfe's power increased even further then it already was. After the forth bolt hit him Wolfe lowered his hands to his side and and brought his head down and smirked as he stared at the large stone doors in front of him. Wolfe then pulled both his arms back and threw them forward at the same time. As his palms hit the doors they started to crack and the center of both doors broke and shattered into hundreds of pieces. What was left of the doors flew open. Wolfe then took a few steps into the temple "HELLO HUNNY, I'M HOME!!!" his voice echoed all through out the temple. However, he didn't have to look far as the opening led to the main chamber of the temple which was a huge room, and in the center was a decent sized group of cultist circled around two chained atronochs that looked pretty drained, Wolfe assumed he busted in hear the end of the ritual and they were almost drained dry, and a man in a much nicer set of the same type of robes the other cultist were wearing. All of them stopped what they were doing and with a look of confusion and shock they stared upon the mess and the mage who had made it. Wolfe returned their looks with a grin that went from ear to ear, as he knew this was going to be nothing short of a blast.

Wolfe decided to waste no time as he dashed forward, coming in low he caught the two mages in front of him around the knee area as he outstretched his arms and lifted upon contact send both of them up and over Wolfe's shoulders and flying backwards to the ground. Without breaking his stride he continued his dash and in towards the center of the circle at the still surprised obvious leader of the group. The head cultist gathered his senses but it was a little to late and Wolfe was already upon him. Wolfe reached his right arm back as still in mid stride swung his arm forward and connected a punch to the center mass of the cultist so hard, cracking could be heard and he went flying backwards and into two more cultist. They went backwards landing on their backs and the leader flew right past them and hit the ground in a tumble. He came to an abrupt, and loud stop as he slammed into the back wall with a *THUD*. Wolfe stopped as he looked around with a grin on his face "Anyone else want to join the fun?" Wolfe was about to have a blast with this fight, he only hoped Rohma would get in here soon and get her fill before Wolfe went to town.

The woman couldn’t help smirking, ’Somehow I’m not even surprised.’ Eyetooth poking out she nodded at him and tossed over her shoulder, ”All right then I’ll leave you to do the knocking. Just don’t bring the entire house down, ‘d be fun to check the place out proper later,” and left the charged up man to his grand entry. However he seemed to have some control so she felt confident the place wouldn’t receive too much damage. At least nothing she couldn’t likely repair later.

The passage narrowed, enough that Rohma hunched over to avoid scraping her skull along the roof, avoiding too many bumps. ’I get why they did this, just wish they could’ve kept the entrance small and maybe carved out a better exit/back entrance…I mean even if they were sneaking in bad situations this couldn’t have helped their nerves any.’ Perhaps just her personal dislike for too-small places despite all the temples and caves she skulked about in the woman always held a small fear of cave-ins. About at the door now she waited, breathing quieting as the woman listened for any sound and then there it was. Something loud shortly followed by the booming voice of her partner. Muffled even through the door she almost snorted. Really, Rohma couldn’t have asked for a better distraction.

The hatch gave way, Rohma practically crawling through it as she found herself in a hallway. From here she could spy one of the nearly drained atronochs as it lay slumped against the wall, cuffs preventing it from completely falling. It looked more like a dying fire than a gloriously flaming being, glow low and only wisps of fire dancing off of it, looking like the slightest breeze might blow them out. Even now eyes stood as glowing embers rather than a lively entity, ready to turn to charcoal black soon. By now the party was in full-swing though as a few came flying back towards the altar that she surmised their ring leader stood behind during the ceremony. Even now objects lay atop the thick, granite table stationed between the chained elementals and as her eyes analyzed the table’s contents she caught it: in a goblet stood a liquefied version of the atronoch’s magic. Somehow he’d been ciphering it into the thing, likely intending to drink it at some point.

Eyeing one of the knocked out fellows on the ground she shot a pair of bullets at the ground, causing it to warp. The marbled floors rose up and around his wrists as the man groaned and tried moving, finding himself suddenly bound. In the confusion as the group focused on their white-haired intruder however so nobody noticed his rising discomfort as she made a dash from the hallway towards the altar.

One of the ones still close to it noticed her, the man shouting as he reached for the charging mage. Her eyes narrowed, setting a spell in place and let reality diverge for a moment.

In the perspective of others he caught ahold of her arm, guns seemingly flying to the sides as her grip became lost from the pain of his magic as it coursed through her veins. Within another few seconds gashes sprouted all over her, the woman yelling out as blood shot out and the fellow grinned at having possibly handled one of the intruders – though there remained the more problematic of the two. He let her fall to the ground with a groan, a boot slamming onto her back as he set a warning for her teammate, ”If you don’t want her heart exploding you might want to rethink your actions bub…”

In reality she’d dodged to the side, letting the man nab the illusion of “what could’ve been” and made a beeline for the altar. Rich, warm liquid burned down her throat, Rohma coughing a little from the feeling. The atronochs she couldn’t leave in their position, though the things would likely die soon enough so she held few qualms as she pointed at each one, shooting an archaic symbol from her fingers into their beings. Those “instructions” of sorts forced their forms to shift, turning into orbs of light that flew into her palms and absorbed into her being, combining with the power of the liquid that left her feeling rather warm. That heat continued to build, Rohma wincing before it finally equalized, though she no longer felt the slight chill of the altitude around them.

Flames flickered off her hair, though they lacked the full, rich color of the bright oranges, almost looking like distortions as the false Rohma faded from beneath the man’s boot and the real one became visible behind him. The power of the atronochs stood more apparent in her eyes, the baby blues having turned a brilliant shade of orange as she waved her hand towards the fellow. An orb of brilliant white and yellow shot into her attacker’s back, eyes widening beneath his hood as he fell to the ground. A groan started slipping from his mouth, turning more and more pained by the moment as he began to writhe, wafts of smoke rising from his body as it suffered a wave of heat from inside. ”Sorry bud, but I think I’m too hot for you to handle,” though she spoke to the man now on the ground her eyes remained focused on the rest of the party as they found themselves sandwiched between the empowered lightning user and the woman now filled with fiery magic.

It was clockwork really. Just as Wolfe had thought about Rohma coming in and getting herself of the action it seemed like she read his mind and only moments later she came busting in from the back of the room and made her entrance. Wolfe watched as she did her thing and even took a second to consider if it was really a good idea to drink the cup of whatever they had been draining from the now pretty much dead atronochs. However, before he could even get a word out of his mouth it was too late and the deed was done. Wolfe just shrugged, there was nothing he could do about it now. He just hoped there wouldn't be any kind of nasty side effect or long term issues involved. He then watched as she did some form of magic and took care of the two dying atronochs. She then turned her attention to one of the mages and took him out of the ordeal.

In all this confusion most of the mages were frozen, not knowing what to do, but about this time they were finally realizing that they had just had their party crashed and their leader was laying on his side on the other side of the room and all their work was now gone as the empty goblet lay on the floor. It was also at this time a loud murmur could be heard from the now slowly moving body of the leader mage as he rolled over and yelled "What are you doing fools? attack them and kill them!! they ruined everything!!!" His voice echoing off the walls, his obvious pain heard in his tone as he wheezed out his command.

the majority of the remaining mages turned towards Wolfe who up to this point had performed the most damage and had also attacked their leader. In almost unison all the mages started to move their hands and yell as different types of fireballs and fire based attacks all erupted from their hands targeted at Wolfe who stood almost in the dead center of what remained of the circle. Just as most of the attacks hit him Wolfe buckled down with his arms crossed in front of him, and his head down, as he knelt down on one knee. Then with a burst of rage and energy there was a sound of eruption as all the spells explodes as Wolfe jumped to his feet and threw his arms out with a "ROARRR!!!" It took a second for thr smoke to clear but Wolfe stood tall as he eyed down his prey a smirk.

Wolfe took off like a blur as he phased stepped and was now standing in front of two of the mages. He reached out both his hands and grabbed the heads of both of the mages and with a sudden pull of both his arms inward slammed their heads together with a loud *CRACK* both of their heads flung away from each other as their bodies went weak. Wolfe swung his right fist and caught the left one with a jab to his side and repeated the shot with his left fist into the right one's side. Just before their bodies went limp he pulled back both his arms and swung up landing a uppercut to both of them at the same time sending both of their bodies flying backwards a few feet as they landed into two lumps on the ground. Wolfe turned ust as two more mages went to shoot fireballs at him again. Wolfe took off right at the fireballs and just before they hit him he fell to his knees and leaned backwards as he slide right under them as they flew right over his him. Wolfe jumped to his feet in a full dash again as the two mages realized their magic missed and turned to run. Wolfe reached out and grabbed one of the back of his cloak and yanked backwards pulling him off of his feet as he fell backwards. As his feet went up in the air Wolfe swept his right leg just under him and caught the other's legs and swept them out from under him, causing him to stumble and fall over on his side. Wolfe was moving so fast it all seemed to be happening in slow motion to him, but to anyone watching he almost seemed like a blur to watch. Just before the first one fell on his back Wolfe swung his left fist up and down catching the man in his chest as he punched him into the ground with a loud *THUD* creating a small crater where his body was now limp. He then reached across with his right arm and grabbed the other one by his shoulder and as he twisted his body left and swung is arm out and with a wide swing and threw the man across the room into a wall. He hit the wall and fell to the floor in a lump.

Wolfe heard as the first two mages he swiped upon his entrance were coming to, but his focus was elsewhere as a voice boomed out towards him. Wolfe turned to see the leader was now on his feet and ready to have a little fun.

Wolfe decided to leave the last of the guys to Rohma, she needed to have a little fun as he glanced at her and gave her a wink. He then took off at the leader in a full blown dash. The leader started to move his hands and cast a spell and Wolfe figured he was going to be stupid like the rest and try and hit him with a spell and Wolfe phase stepped right behind the mage and reached out his had to grab the mage by the back of his neck but then a flame arose from the ground around the mage and shot up catching Wolfe's arm in the fire and flying right up in Wolfe's face. Wolfe jumped back as he pulled back his arm and examined it closely as smoke rose from the burnt part of his arm and as he looked down he had burn marks across some of the front of his body from the heat. It seemed Wolfe had under estimated the leader as he turned and with a look of pure hate he stared at Wolfe.

Wolfe just flashed his fangs at the mage before he decided to just deal with the issue in the must blunt way possible. Wolfe took a step forward and despite the flames erupting around the mage Wolfe swung a right hay-maker right through the flames and caught the mage right in the chin and sent him flying backwards a few feet. The flames died almost instantly, but the burn marks on Wolfe are were worse now, but he didn't care, they would heal in time. The leader started to stand up as he threw another spell at Wolfe. However, Wolfe was done with this and started to dash forward holding his right arm just in from of him as his forearm took the blunt of the spell burning that arm decently as well. Wolfe continued his dash and just as he reached the leader he swung his right arm back and down and continued the motion into an uppercut and caught the leader right in the gut just as he finished standing up. As the leader doubled over Wolfe reached out his left hand and grabbed the back of his head as he thrusted up his right knee and caught him right in the face. The leader's head snapped back as his whole body flew backwards. Wolfe was pissed and as the leader fell onto his back Wolfe stepped forward and with all his might he swung his right arm up and slammed it down right into his chest. Wolfe didn't kill the man, but he wasn't going to be moving without help anytime soon.

Wolfe turned towards the rest of the room as he figured Rohma was taking care of the rest of the scum.

Post by Rohma 23rd July 2016, 6:33 am

One never had to wait long with Wolfe around. The man knew how to not only how to get down to business, but be swift about it. Then again what she appreciated lay in the fact the man turned heads and could really grab attention. ’Should maybe take him out on an expedition at some point. Any bandits show up I know who they’ll set their sights on…and then pay for it immediately after.’ The fact that they’d totally screwed up any plans may have caused a wicked grin on the devilish woman’s face though. She certainly wasn’t above meddling in plans, especially the more nefarious ones.

The drawing of attention afforded the woman the time she needed to become accustomed to this magic, feeling it well up inside her and then twisting it in the same way they’d hoped to do. In the goblet had been more than just the essence of the fire atronochs, their energy laced with their element in the same way that others in the cup had been. Rohma theorized that the man who’d just issued the kill order wanted some omni magical bull crap or possibly evolve his fire capabilities into something else – perhaps a combined element instead. What he’d actually managed to concoct honestly…would’ve probably killed him. In fact later she’d have to whip something up to stave off potential heartburn, but given his proficiency for fire and some of the aftertaste of the liquid he might’ve been aiming for something akin to frost fire, maybe a level beyond it as she felt other things mixed in…

Well. No matter. She’d alter it towards the coldest of fires.

Finally the inner heat dissipated into a more familiar iciness, something she’d been oddly more comfortable with for reasons she couldn’t rightly understand. As the guys rounded on her Rohma’s eyes returned to their original blue shade, albeit with a glow still intact. This revelation caused them to grin, believing the power already wearing off – likely with a hint of “off of someone unworthy” in their thoughts, but she’d overlook that for now.

Their only warning came with a smirk before the girl vanished from sight, this time without the doppelganger. Pistols back in hand, the barrel tapped lightly on one fellow’s shoulder as she aimed at another, the blast of the bright blue bullet propelling the guy forward. A heat wave struck all of them, a confusing sensation even as icy crystals encircled his torso. He hit the ground with a groan, forced into a problematic turtle position once the notion of standing up could sit clearly in his mind. By the time the other man turned around the gunslinger no longer stood behind him. Now he only held a charged blood spell with no discernible target for it.

Things only hastened from there as Rohma forced herself between the planes time and time again, eager to avoid haphazardly flung fireballs from one of the two still standing. Bullets raced from her guns, often times hardening those some fireballs into the same crystal formation wrapped around their cohort’s torso, the man attempting to fling some until Rohma locked both his hands down in the same structure – albeit with a yell of pain from him in the process. Couldn’t always win the “nice guy” competition.

However the other two proved more resilient in dodging, sticking to constant movement in the hopes of avoiding her projectiles and quickly learning their spells could lead to road blocks of her’s. At least that’d been their plan, but it was only a matter of time before someone slipped up and it’d be the other fire flinger. This time when she reappeared Rohma bent low to the ground, moving in a sweeping motion as the fiery orb passed over her, the woman gritting her teeth at the slight “baked” feeling her back received. The essence of the fire atronochs only provided a magic source, not protection sadly. This time though she landed two solid shots on the person, watching them slam backwards into the altar and become glued to it as that blue, warm ice cascaded over them and wrapped around parts of the structure. Not that it mattered, their head having slammed into the stone and leaving the woman’s head lolling to the side.

One more stood in her way, Rohma crying out as a palm slammed into her side and pain ricocheted through her body. In a second gesture the man harshly backhanded her, not wanting to lose the opportunity to further knock her off her bearings. Forced to the ground Rohma gasped for breath, the shock of the pain as the waves continued to ebb too slowly away, the man advanced on her with a horrid grin. ”Guess yer done girlie. Was a nice show, but if I getcha I think the boss man just might promote me in our little order. I’m sure you understand.”

A shaky hand flung out towards him, the man starting to laugh at the thought she might be begging for her life. He couldn’t see the words after all. He didn’t know she used the guns as a medium, a way to trick people into thinking they knew her magic. They didn’t though. The words shot into him almost as fast as a bullet, propelled by her anger with a hint of desperation. From where she lay on the ground, Rohma had front row seats to watch the man’s grin wipe away in horrified realization as his body began to heat up, the man arching as if to scream out in pain…and yet that’s where the crystallization started. Soon a thick layer of the same stuff encompassed him, insuring he wouldn’t be going anywhere anytime soon. At least the timer sat somewhere in the twenty-to-fifty year range unless someone really wanted to chip him out. It wouldn’t likely be her or Wolfe though.

Shakily standing up she immediately doubled over, hands braced against her knees. ’Damn it…’ Whatever he’d done would require actual repairing, she felt sure of it. Rohma might’ve had her personal coding memorized, but that didn’t mean she really liked messing with it too much. The simple “program” – as she called it – in place wouldn’t be able to take care of it as efficiently so she channeled some of the obtained energy into a stronger, swifter version and placed the invisible spell inside. Relief would still take a while, never mind letting the memory of the pain also disappear, but by the time Wolfe finished she was able to assure him that she could walk just fine on her own.

Their little spherical friend reappeared – having hidden during their entire fight – only to continue urging them onwards. Had they not finished yet? Disgruntled, Rohma followed the thing only for it to lead the pair to a burly, grungy fellow. Skin darkened from a mix of coal, dirt, and toil, the unkempt fellow observed them both silently. The way his eyes sometimes lingered on her left the dark-haired woman on edge a bit, as if waiting for her specifically to say something. However it didn’t last long, the man nodding to them before either could utter out a syllable of a question. ”Thank you, my master will be pleased.” That was all they were given before the ball of light grew and surrounded them…and proceeded to not only teleport them back to the wakusei portal, but outright spit them out into it. Even if they wanted to go back, they’d merely end up in a different spot of the world.
