Welcome to the Land of... What the heck?!?!(Planet Guardian-First Contact/Private)

And it's off on an adventure! Saika and Rin, the two newest additions to the independent guild of Sleeping Forest were ready to make their first trip through the Wakusei Portals. Their destination? The planet of Nazo! Currently, their goal was to simply make contact with the world, explore it a bit, get to know the occupants. As Sleeping Forest's mission was to spread balance and justice throughout the universe, traveling to other planets would only help to reach this goal.

Saika's eyes were shut tight as she entered the portal. Wild colors swirled vividly around her, and she resisted a yell as she was tossed about from side to side in the swirl of raw magic. It was an admittedly frightening experience for her, so full of chaos even a demon-based sword spirit like her wished for something to feel orderly and normal again. However, she wanted to put on a brave, older sister face on for Rin, the white-haired girl calmly floating through the swirl beside her.

While Saika struggled to keep herself in check, Rin floated around, letting herself go with the flow, stuck in an eerily still position. Her eyes were wide open, amber lights calmly observing her surroundings. As a bringer of order, she was perfectly content in such a situation. As long as she kept a calm, careful space around her, she was calm, and right t home.

Though only a few seconds had passed, Saika emerged shakily, brow wrinkled in pain as she stepped onto the new planet. It was with relief that she sat down slowly, blinking her eyes open to take a look at their surroundings. When she finally realized what was before them, her eyes shot wide open. "H-hey, Rin! L-look at this!" she whispered. The thing right before her was... well... the best way to describe it was a ginormous hummingbird with crab legs and two antlers sticking out of its head. The oddity slowly turned its head to gaze at them, then made a purring sound, revealing it to have three lips and whiskers like a cat. Not to mention the thing was floating upside down in midair.

Rin's eyes widened, and she froze as she stepped out of the portal herself. The angelic girl barely ever showed any reaction to things, but this definitely caught her attention. "Wh-what?" she whispered, squeezing her eyes shut and shaking her head from side to side. As she slowly opened them again, she groaned. "T-the size of those wings... They can't logically carry such an animal, but it's floating upside down?" she squeaked. Figures the girl would worry about that first.

After a moment, though, Saika slowly began to approach it, slowly raising a foot into the air. As she was used to gravity dragging her foot back down, she was stunned to find that it was left stuck in the air, unless she used force to put it down. "W-whoa, Rin, try walking!" she gasped, taking a few other steps and realizing her feet could walk on the air. However, when she put force into moving her leg downwards, the air relented.

Rin gaped, her mouth falling open at the impossible physics. She took a step forward, and found that suddenly, her leg was falling through a foot of the crust. With a yelp, the lightweight girl backed away, a scared expression on her face. "W-what is this?" she wailed, staring in horror. She slowly pulled her leg out, and found the other one had begun to float. Looking around her, the quiet girl began to notice something odd. The laws of physics seemed to be completely different for every single thing on the planet. Some could only move tilted, some only by plowing through earth, and some, like the humming bird creature could only float upside down. Slowly, Rin tried to adjust to this new reality. She stomped hard with her floating leg, and tried to step lightly with her sinking leg. It didn't work. Her legs just either floated more, or sank more. She gritted her teeth in frustration as she tried to pull her foot out, but failing as the other one was floating around.

Saika, meanwhile, seemed to be having great fun. She found she could walk any way, and anywhere she wanted. She was now walking around in circles... Upside down and right side up. "Hey, Rin, this is actually pretty fun!" she laughed, grinning at her sister's predicament. It was quite amusing, watching the serious girl struggle with doing something that looked like the splits. "Try stomping with the trapped foot and stepping light with the floating foot!" she called. Rin reluctantly did as she said, and to her shock, it worked. There was less of a problem as she walked now, forcing the girl to mutter a grouchy thank you to her hated big sis. They slowly began to make their way across the terrain in awkward steps, Saika walking up the air every now and then and Rin's feet floating or sinking.

Soon enough, they discovered that this planet had a completely nonsensical layout, with random structures that shouldn't exist. At points, the land would spiral around, or be swaying back and forth in the wind. At times, they would see balls covered in thousands of cilia swimming through the air, or random water droplets suspended in midair, clouds snowing up, and odd shapes that looked like creatures that weren't supposed to exist. Shadows would appear in midair at times, shimmering slowly as Saika passed a cautious hand through it, and occasionally random busts of water would spurt out of plants.

Rin's mind felt about to explode. She didn't understand this weird world at all, what was it all about? She felt it was based on chaos, and everything that defied logic. She felt lost here, CO fused and worried as she usually depended on logic and physics to get her way through life. This planet had neither, and was more in Saika's realm of thought that hers. In fact, the demonic girl seemgd to be rather enjoying herself. Running about upside down, sideways, and climbing an invisible wall, she had a surprisingly genuine grin on her face. Not one fueled by sadism, but by actual enjoyment.

Suddenly, a sharp screeching sound cave from above, and what seemed to be a woman fell from the sky above. Rin blinked in even more confusion, for it seemed that the woman child only slide upwards or downwards, and North and South. No matter how she tried to move East or West, she could only slide around in those specific directions. Upon closer inspection, Rin gasped in horror. The woman floated upside down, and the top of her head was cut off. Only her mouth could be seen, and her eyes, nose, all missing. Not cut off, exactly, there was simply a smooth flat surface there, no scars or markings. Her hair was tightly wound up behind her in two cones, wrapped around with colorful cloth. Her body was mostly normal, besides the fact that she was shockingly pale, and the way she had no feet. Seriously. At the point where her fancy blue ball gown should have given way to feet, huge gears slowly turned instead, creaking and squeaking eerily. She then moved on North, carrying a weird aura of darkness with her.

Suddenly, a slow eery parade-like sound echoed around, even though there was nothing for it to echo off of. A slow-moving parade of oddities moved in the same track the woman did, carrying that same weird aura. It wasn't quite so strong, however, and didn't cause tingles to travel up Rin's spine so much. At one point, Saika had joined her, and the two observed the mass of creatures slowly inching forward, following the woman. As the last one plodded by, the sky darkened, and night fell.

Here, night was strange. Everything was pitch dark, showing just how filtered sights were from space. The atmosphere here had to be very unique. Only lights from random structures and creatures could be seen, nothing else was visible to the eye. "Let's...let's sleep," Saika finally said, and Rin squeezed her sister's hand in agreement for the first time in years.

The two girls found a relatively safe feeling place to sleep, although things were rather awkward. Saika couldn't keep from staying solidly on the ground, so she floated an inch above, and Rin was sleeping on her side, as that was the only possible way for her to. This weird planet of Nazo, how in the world was balance supposed to exist here? Nothing worked the same way, so did justice and balance work the same way as well? The two knew absolutely nothing about culture here, life, rankings, everything. How could it possibly be colonized?

Finally, the next morning, the two prepared to go. Looking around in a quick goodbye, they once more marvelled at how thick the atmosphere had to be. The sun barely showed through, and the sky looked like it had been painted white. Only the faintest signs that light went through it showed it wasn't completely solid. This world that made no sense, that angel and demon couldn't figure out. What would happen here in the future? Whatever would, it was bound to be interesting.
