A Wanderers Wonders [Vindstot/Private]

Elyx was on top of the Phoenix Mountains currently, two Phoenix Birds by his sides. The one on the left was held close to him as he gave it a gentle scratch on the head. A delicate little cheep would emit from the adult animal, it was so adorable. The one on the right side was a male Phoenix bird that stood ground to guard the both of them, looking down over to see what was going on. There were many of their kind below, it was nearly impossible to not see one when a traveler arrived at the island. However, those who did not have the Golden Phoenix or the Pharaoh's Call mark would instantly be considered an enemy and attacked. It was very rare for mages to reach the top of the mountain where Elyx was, probably the only safe zone as well. But if they make it, they made it to the area where the Oahu portal opens up, where again, they would need the Golden Phoenix of the Pharaoh's Call mark. Otherwise, they survived all of the assaults for nothing. It was a bit problematic since some mages might be stragglers travelling around the world. But if that were the case, it was very likely that they would not get too far into the scene and hopefully run away. Attackers will not get too far either, and they might lose their lives for it. That was their price for messing with the guild. Legend has it that the Immortal Phoenix resided within this area. Was it true? Not even the Guild Master knew that. But he will most certainly be on the lookout.

Traveler's life was not simple, but it sure was exciting. Especially exploring areas unknown to the person, seeing their beauty for the first time ever. For that very reason, Leila decided to wander off the beaten path and explore on her own risk. And while there wasn't much around her at the moment, there was a strange island in the distance. Something she did not yet explore or even really heard about. But what was really strange about it was the golden glow emitting from it. Even at this distance, she was able to see some forms of dancing flames, decorating the big mountains. If those flames were wild creatures or humans with torches, that was unknown to her for now. But she was determined to see for herself. Borrowing a small ship that would fit no more than two people, she started making her way towards the isle, wind in her silken silver hair and salted water splashing on her clothes. She reached solid ground with no issues in manner of minutes. But there was a while of hesitation before she set foot out of her boat. For she was not close enough to recognize what those moving flames really were. Rather big bird-like creatures, whose bodies were blaze itself, scorching the air around them. The sight alone sent unpleasant tingles down her spine, knowing that fire was her greatest enemy and that if one of these creatures attacked, she would be in proper trouble. But for the sake of satisfying her curiosity and adventure seeking mood, she gulped and climbed out of the boat. That alone alerted more than one of these birds to her presence. And only few more steps managed to provoke them. One of many flew towards the poor girl, landing right in front of her and staring her down. Taking slow steps back, Leila tried to not alert the giant avian, sweat pouring from her body as she shook slightly. This was unpleasant situation indeed.

One sudden glance of the Phoenix caught the attention of the Golden Phoenix Guild Master as his eyes would avert that way. Amplifying his senses, he would enhance his magic flow towards that direction and feel the magic power a mage through there. While it did not seem all too much, the fact that it had so little and the mage got so far got his attention. And if he did have the chance, he would let them get taken out by the Phoenix Birds for invading territory. Then again, they might have just been stragglers trying to find their way. The Birds were beginning to fly towards that direction. I'll give them a trial at least. The Sky Slayer said to himself as he pounced off of the mountain that he was on, blurring into the wind and catching a good feel of it, his speed heavily enhanced as he scanned the area below towards the direction the majestic birds were heading towards. Once he found his location, he'd drop down through the forest trees and onto the ground lightly, but quickly in between the bird and the girl there. Stay down, all of you! The Guild Master would command all of the birds. They backed down rather quickly as well, nice to see that order was kept among the Golden Phoenix members and the Phoenix Birds. The girl, she seemed to be around his age. Sorry about that. Phoenix Island is not the best of places for a mage to be in. What brings you here, and where do you plan to go?

As the majestic creature moved towards her, she was moving away from it. In a sense, the phoenix was successfully driving her out of the island without actually having to use any manner of violence. If every problem worked like this, the world would be perhaps too peaceful of a place. But even in the fear, Leila managed to catch a glimpse of something that was heading towards her location in rather speedy manner. Not exactly able to confirm what it was, it might have as well been a magical missile or something worse. Like a man who was capable of commanding these creatures. Which was exactly what landed between her and the birdy. His rather sudden and seemingly random entrance got her a tad bit spooked and while trying to make a big step back, she managed to trip and fall onto her bum. Watching the whole scene from sitting position, she was quite amazed at the act, the bird-like creatures obeying his words and obediently ceasing all aggressive action. Which either meant that they bore great respect toward this man, or he had absolutely control over them, most likely in a form of magic. Whichever it was, it was clear that he was powerful mage. His magical energy quickly filled the air and had Leila scared out of her mind before he started talking in fairly friendly manner. "Ah... I... I see..." She got the words out of her mouth with slight stuttering, her voice shaken like never before. Her eyes were open wide, fully revealing the blue irises, even through her silver hair that was falling into her face. And then a thought ran through her mind. How is it possible that someone who looked this young had so much magical energy? Maybe she could ask him. "Phoenix Island... so that's the name of this place..." She repeated the name after him, almost as if to memorize or confirm it for herself. But an important question arrived, he was asking her what was the purpose of her presence in this place. And she had a bad feeling that if she refused to respond, those 'phoenixes' would probably turn her into a dinner. "Er.. well... I was just exploring? Honestly, there wasn't much of a reason... sorry, I'm trespassing somewhere, aren't I?" She finally came to the realization, perhaps a bit too late.

Yup. To get to this part of the island, you would have to pace through the ports and the city, where no one gets attacked. The forests and the mountains belong to the Phoenix. With that, he'd pull his right pointer and middle fingers before hooking them on the collar of his shirt. He then tugged it downwards on the right side of his collar bone so that she could see the Guild mark that he had, a Phoenix with flames at the bottom of it. His was blue. You are currently in the territory of the Golden Phoenix Guild. Anyone who happens to have this mark will be considered an ally with the majestic birds. The Guild Master would explain, placing his left palm over the head of one of the birds before giving it a gentle scratch on the head. In return, it would lovingly place it's head against his chest as it closed it's eyes and let out a cheep. This was to give her an example of what the guild can do for the marks that they have. So you are just exploring? Does anyone know that you are here out of all places? He'd ask the young lady, placing his hands in his pockets. Now the treasure hunter was concerned for her safety. Did she have some sort of teacher? What about your guild? I can sense you have magic, so does your guild know that you are here out of all places? They must be worried sick for you.

As he started explaining what exactly was going on and where she was, Leila started picking herself back up on her own two feet. The heavy leather coat was still covering most of her body and clothes, hiding majority of her appearance. But the hoodie was surprisingly not on her head and covering her face, how it usually would. She did not expect any company while going through these mountains so she simply didn't bother with putting it on, not that it would be much of a bother. But once she was up and standing tall, she stated pondering what this Phoenix he spoke of was. That was until he revealed his guild mark, explaining much more than she actually asked for."A guild huh... dart, why did I not find any info about it?" She muttered in low voice, complaining to herself as she did insufficient research before reaching this place. That made this situation rather awkward, as she could be easily considered a thief or something of similar stature. Strangely, before she was able to apologize to the man, he started saying... odd things. Words like guild and worried sick ringed in her ears, like a falling avalanche. "Err, no. There isn't anyone who would know where I am right now, as it doesn't concern anyone. I'm just a traveling mage after all." She started explaining it to him, hoping that he would understand. She did ran into people who would be oblivious to the term of guildless mage before, so it wouldn't be much of a surprise if he was like that as well. Though it would only bring problems in situation like this, and so she hoped that his mind was open and not hateful of these things and people like her.

Well, the reason why she did not hear about it was probably because the guild was recently made. Yes, Elyx could hear her, he was a slayer, his senses were heavily enhanced. However, it was clear that she did not expect for him to heart that. The lady would then proceed to continue explaining about how she was not being looked over, and that she was a traveling mage. As for a home? Are you looking for one? Or just simply a place to sleep for the night? The Sky Slayer would ask. The Phoenix Birds around them seemed to be lowering on hostility. This odd girl was not afraid, seemingly at least. She just spoke formally and went along with his questions. Well, maybe that was not all too weird, and that he had been hanging around the most special people. That resulted in him believing their actions are normal and he is the odd one out. Take Izayuki for example, his own girlfriend. She was definitely a crazy nut, but an adorable little tanuki that meant well and always tries to have fun. If that is all, I can escort you back to the town. Though I do not believe that there are any inns over there. And whether or not you can make it to one is not something I can say. Well, with that in mind, he would tilt his head to the side. I also know that you can't travel here along. If there is something you would like from the forest or the mountain, I would have to accompany you.

Scratching on her head, she was still pondering about this whole situation. It was rather uncommon that she would run into problems like this, as she always prepared for her travels and got all the info beforehand. But this time was just different, much more weird. Who in their right mind would let a flaming bird, Phoenix, rub it's head against their shirt? Would it not burn them? It clearly didn't burn him, but Leila felt the pain in his stead, just imagining all that. After all, fire was her greatest weakness, being near something which's existence was flame itself was a bit unpleasant. But he asked more questions, distracting her from that fact, which was nice in some form. "Home? Never had one, I always find some manner of hotel or open cave." She answered him simply and truthfully. There wasn't much to it, but she was good at surviving outside in the open. If anything, this is what her father taught her perfectly. Still, it was shame that this place was off-limits. The nature here seemed fairy undisturbed, most likely because of the birds everywhere. Surely she would find a pleasant place where she could just sit down and rest without needing to care about anything. But as he said, this island was property of some guild, and she was a trespasser. "Right, right. I arrived in a boat, surely I can make it back without any issues." The fact that he wanted to escort her back was a bit odd, but then again, maybe he just wanted to make sure that she wouldn't try to return. Turning her back towards him, she sighed and closer her eyes. "So this place is a bust too, huh. And I was hoping to find some pirate treasure or something..." She complained silently again before she would start marching forward.

All right, so she could make it back to her home. Nice. He would nod simply. The reason why he would have to escort her home was so that she would not be attacked by the Phoenix Birds again, who all have her eye on her. To much distance between both him and her and it was game over for the traveler, they would have no problem with ripping her to shreds. It seems she was still trying to be subtle, trying to hide her voice as she explained her disappointment. Expecting pirate's treasure? Like that, his footsteps would stop in place. Before we go home, there is some place that I would like for you to see. I promise it will not take too long. And with that, his would turn the exact opposite direction, only to notice the birds still there. Good, they could have a bit of use. Not even waiting for the lady to reply, he would call out to two Phoenix Birds. We need to get to the Phoenix Mountains. Oahu! Oahu was the underwater city that was accessed by both his guild and Aiyana's. To get to it, one had to get to the top of the mountain. And once they had done such a task, a portal would respond to their guild mark. This portal will teleport them under the water to Oahu, a huge private town surrounded by a dome that filters oxygen. It was beautiful, and he was glad that Nimpha had discovered the such an elegant place. His would be carried on the back of on Phoenix. And if the young lady were to join him, she would be on the back of the other. Provided this be the case, they would be flying over to the top of the Phoenix Island mountain.

He was successful in stopping her from leaving, even if just barely. Place that he wanted to show her all of a sudden? Her feelings were mixed about it, as it could be both good and bad. To put it bluntly, it was suspicious. But he waited for anything and called those birds toward him. "Err... are you trying to kidnap me or something sir?" She asked him directly, her face bearing an annoyed expression. She already had plenty of problems she had to deal with, there was no need to keep increasing that list. But then he said something interesting. He wanted to reach the top of the mountain, which was quite the ways up above the ocean's level. But places like that usually hid temples or other unique structures that were indeed worth exploring for more that one single reason. So maybe it was worth it to follow this guy. Though it seemed that his idea of transport was sitting on those flaming birds. "H...hold on, I can'n possibly sit on those! I'll get burned!" She started explaining, all panicked again. If they were only hostile towards those who had not been marked by the guild, it could totally mean that they could burn them with touch as well. That, she did not like, not one bit.

He would only look at her with a neutral facial expression when she asked if he was trying to kidnap her. And for what purpose exactly? The face he made gave off something along the lines of "Are you serious...? Like... What?" Answer me this. What traveller is able to walk around the world without putting their life on the line every single day. As a traveller, you see new places. And I want to show you one. The Guild Master would patiently explain, still on the Phoenix. The mark did not protect him from the flames, he was a mage. Magic only can attack a being when it is hostile and used for attacking. It was the same reason why most magic spells are unable to affect allies, but severely punish the enemy. I assume you are a stranger to magic. They are not hostile to you, touch one if you feel. Feel the warmth of the fire, interact with it. As long as their magic flames are not hostile towards you, I can assure your safety. While you are with me, they will not react in any negative form of way. The first step to making friends is putting a little bit of faith, evenn when there is no reason to. Yup, preach it. He should be a philosopher. But not right now, he had a guild to go to, and anyone interested in treasures had to at least see Oahu once. If she wants to leave after that, he will gladly let her go.

The thing he said seemed kinda contradictory to the fact that he knew she was a mage. Of course she was no stranger to magic, if she was, she would not be a mage. And someone who isn't mage would not have magical energy as high as she had, it would all be nonsensical. "Actually, I'm far from a stranger to magic. And that's why I know that magic can be fickle, that it can do anything... quite literally." Some could even argue that Leila herself was 'magic' given her origin and history. She came to exist in this world by means completely uncommon to men, through powerful sorcery and gifts of gods. And through her life, she saw many things. Even magic that would destroy anything and anyone that would come in contact with it, even when it meant to ill will. Things like that were sometimes simply inevitable. Magic is a blessing that allows one to channel emotions into reality. But sometimes it's also a curse that not everyone is capable of controlling, especially creatures that are driven by instincts, like animals. But enough on that subject, she would approach and carefully place on of her hands on the Phoenix. After confirming that it was indeed not painful and burning, she would sigh and sit on it, resting her body behind the man. "A traveler has to be caution and question all, for dangers lie in every corner of this unpredictable world. Don't believe me? Then go into cities and seas to count how many thieves, pirates and murderers you'll meet." She replied him to the very first thing he said, even before the topic of magic. Traveling was her life, all she knew. Even if he was milion times stronger than her, it didn't necessary mean that he was more experienced. And she would not let a stranger say things like these to her without snapping back in some way.

Thieves. Murderers. Pirates. Nothing new to him, they are nothing compared to the Deities, Demons, and Giants that he had ever faced off against. He travelled the world, obtained the Third God of Ishval spot, even take down an H rank mage when he was A rank. His eyes have seen some of the nastiest things, yet he is able to confidently travel through lands with a sense of adventure. Compared to the beings that I have seen, you would only wish to meet Theives, Pirates, and Murderers. And with that, the Phoenix Birds flew up from the ground slowly. He sat with his feet hanging over the edge, swinging them back and forth. His palms would lay flat against the animal and eyes would stare to the clouds that were slightly above them. The topic of magic was debatable, he was going to have to talk to Nimpha about it. She knew more about it than anyone. As they flew, a few more would trailer behind the two of them, but not interacting. The Guild Master figured that they were just travelling behind as guardians. Nice. Not really, needed, but nice regardless. Once that had been finished, they would arrive to the top of the mountain. Seems like we have arrived. There does not seem to be anything... Yet... With that, he'd close his eyes as he got off of the back of the Phoenix. He'd pull down his collar again to reveal the mark, and in a few seconds, a blue portal would open up. It will remain opened for 30 seconds. We go through here to get to Oahu. And with that, he would walk in.

She cared not for what he had to say about the whole wide world, and thus she remained silent even as he spoke. And with that, the whole flight was awkwardly silent, the only sound that could be heard being the air cutting and pushing their bodies. Though she had to admit, view from this place wasn't bad at all. She was able to see far beyond the waters to the main land and the cities and villages that resided there. The world always felt so small and so insignificant from these heights. Was that how birds thought about it too, she wondered. Being able to fly away from dangers and problems, they sure were lucky. Naturally, only so that they could find new dangers and problems in the air, that was just how the world worked. Nothing they could about it, it was only natural. And just like that, they arrived at their destination. It appeared that the place was nothing more than just a bare mountain top. At least until he activated a magical analyzer that recognized his guild mark. And once confirmed, it opened a blue-tinted portal to god knows where. Teleportation magic, it was always useful in any given situation. And since the man went through it, it was probably safe. And so she shrugged and followed, jumping into the portal and hoping that it wouldn't bring here somewhere, several feet above the hard rocky ground. That would indeed be problematic and probably would make her hate portals.

Welcome to Oahu. He would land gentle as his body was slowly being drifted to the ground, ensuring him a safe ride down before his feet would hit the ground softly. His hands were in his pockets and light brown eyes shifting at the members of his guild were walking around, just doing the normal things that people usually did. No need to act formal or anything, just be themselves. The area is surrounded by the air dome, and while that is up, they are allowed to breathe. The portal would close itself up, waiting to be summoned by any member at any time in case it is needed. Welcome to Oahu, Golden Phoenix's official private town. Why would I show you such a place? He'd turn his back around to the young lady. Because this is a treasure hunting guild. While we are new, we dedicate our time to finding treasures. Pirate treasures are nice, but there is much more out there than the treasures of humans. He would explain as he begant to walk on the road to where the Guild Hall would be located. If one were to look around, they would notice the dome and how it separated the outside world from the inside one. The mages were happy as they were casually walking around, talking, sociallizing, buying, selling, trading, practicing, all sorts of things. There are currently no children in the guild, again, still new. But other than that, it was their private town. Want to take a look around? What she was on the other side of the teleportation gate was quite the surprise indeed. She expected several different scenarios, everywhere from temple to just a cave. But this... this was a bit too much. Seemingly an entire city, encased in a glass globe that was keeping it safe even under the ocean's floor. Clearly surprised by this all, Leila started running about the path they were on looking at even the distant building and how this whole place actually was. Finally, a smile decorated her face without any hints of suspicion or distrust mixed in. As he started explaining, this was his guild's 'city'. They were new, but they had entire city under they control, guilds sure were scary. Especially this one with it's phoenixes outside. Though, it seemed dangerously risky, if someone was to make a hole in this whole globe, the city would be flooded in minutes. Not that Leila hated being wet, water was one of the elements she adored. The man also said something rather interesting. Golden Phoenix was not an ordinary guild, it was treasure hunting one. Even people that lacked magic could join these and search for artifacts, long forgotten by men. Adventure on every step, surely. But they were usually also pretty distrustful, as they would do anything to get the treasure. Even lie and betray those around them. Which made this whole tour a bit odd, why did he want to show her all this? Was it because of the words she said before? Did he think she was like them, an active treasure hunter? She definitely found few treasures, but it was nothing she could boast about. However, when he mention a guild bank, her eyes illuminated with sparks, her body emitting energy of life itself. Now he was talking her language! "W..well, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing the bank, not at all, hehe~" she started giggling to herself, an act that some would perhaps consider gross in the presence of other people.

She can hide it behind her words all she liked, but she was not fooling anyone. He did not know if she was a treasure hunter or not, but her love of money was just too precious. Elyx owned a guild designed for Treasure Hunters. Any room to talk? Not really. Will he still talk? Most certainly. All right money lover, come with me. Unless you think it's too dangerous of course. A smile on his face after that second part, showing it to be a joke. His hands were placed in his pockets as he would walk through the town casually, going towards their Guild Hall. The barrier was one made by Nimpha Yukino, the luckiest and probably the most powerful mage to exist. Not once has anyone been able to hit her. And she cracked the back of a guys skull with the heel of her foot. Despite this, she was always so happy, and for her to have the strength to build the barrier was amazing. On top of that, with her magic laced onto it, there was no way anyone could break through. It was impossible. Plus, for a mage to do it on the outside, they were going to have to go through thousands of miles under the water to even find it, and by then, they were probably out of energy and luck. As he would approach the Guild Hall, he would be greeted by one of the mages, Fey, who was only there to hang around and smoke. Yup, he was smoking underwater... What a talent... As he walked passed, he would pace towards the elevators. Or pods rather. Prepare yourself, these go up pretty fast. The Guild Master warned before entering one, pressing the button that lead up to the top floor.

He really liked making fun of her after what she said to him. Maybe she should have stayed completely and utterly silent for the whole time, pretending to be mute or something. It would probably make communication much harder, but at least he would not be able to twist her words and use them against her. Not that it was an option now, it was much too late for that. Shrugging to herself on that though, she would start hopping forward right next to him, her eyes still glowing and shining with delight, excitement and anticipation. Not that she would receive any jewels, but maybe something else could come out of this. Surely, he would not offer to show her their vault if he had no plan in mind, there was another motiv for all of this. And if he wanted to bribe Leila into doing something, she would most likely be willing to accept. After all, jewels were important, very important. But the city sure was something. Though it may have been a little bit too futuristic looking for her, she always leaned more towards the medieval and gothic-styled architecture. But this was good too, though she could no imagine actually living in place like this. Clearly, many people had it different in their minds, as they walked around happily, living their everyday lives. Even people that were smoking around, perhaps on their break or something, enjoying a moment of peace. And soon, they arrive to some odd pods. Judging by their structure and all, it wasn't too hard for Leila to guess that they were elevators. This place was not only big in it's width, but also it's height. And now, they were either going up or down, wherever the vault was actually located. Though, he did soon reveal that they were fast and that they would go up, not down.

Pod entered. Going up in three, two... One... And just like that, the hotel lobby sort of floor no longer existed. It left a glimpse of a blur of the first floor as his body was shot through the tube like a bullet. The amount of force that his body was moving at, it was nearly impossible for the normal human body to withstand. That was where magic came along, acting as a barrier and providing him some more endurance. The floor that had been selected was the top floor, where only he had access. Once the pod had stopped at the top, he would allow himself to exit, with hopefully the young lady behind him. While she did seem much of a buzzkill and seemed to have the stubborn nature of a gnat, he knew that everyone had some sort of interest in them. One thing that fueled a traveller the most was money, and here, she was going to witness a lot of it. In order to enter the vault, two things had to be checked. A scanner that was eye-level with the Guild Master. And a small little scanner that is right next to it. His light brown eyes would look into the eye scanner and place his right pointer finger on the other, both making sure that he was really who he was. After a few seconds, the doors to the vault would open, and so the whole treasury would be revealed. And this, this is where we keep the jewels for the guild. It does not seem like much... Yet. But it's definitely worth more than the average mages salary. Have a look if you feel.

Just like he said, the elevator sure was fast. Faster than any she ever seen, no that she had seen many, she was hardly an elevator expert. But this one really was fast, in fact so fast that she stumbled a little the moment they started being lifted. But she managed to stay on her two feet and stabilized herself quickly once the motion of their movement became stable. And now that she was fine again, she looked through the front window. They were going higher and higher, and the view of a whole city soon revealed itself. Despite it's over-the-top architecture, it actually seemed really nice from up here. But she didn't enjoy the view for long, as the elevator quickly reached it's destination, the top floor. And the man certainly didn't wait for anyone, as he immediately stepped out and headed straight. Naturally, she was quick to follow. And it didn't take much time for them to reach a giant door with double security. Not that it was completely impossible to avoid, surely there were mages skilled enough to fool these sensors. But she wasn't one of them, so she had to wait for her escort to actually open that door. Another way of breaking into a vault would be direct attack too, those doors looked sturdy, but Leila imagined that there were people that had enough firepower in their spells to shatter this thing like a paper. And then it finally opened. "Ohoo~ .... ahaha~" Those were the sounds she started making when she stepped inside, her eyes glowing and saliva escaping her mouth as she drooled all over. "I wouldn't mind having more than just a look, hahaha~" She answered to him, her mind in daze as she frolicked over the vault's ground, looking like a little kid that just received a super cool toy.

Oh is that so? The Guild Master would ask, a smirk on his face as he watched her, his arms crossed. It was nice to see people enticed by money. They were just so adorable. And while this was not too much as of currently, there was plenty of time to make up for it. A lot of these jewels were going to be used for investments that would only help the guild grow further. The jewels here are the property of Golden Phoenix and its members. Those who wish to take some at their free will are welcome to do so while they are members. As for others though, without permission, they probably would find themselves in dire trouble. He would explain, his hands now back in his pockets as he would tilt his head to the side. He wondered about her intentions now. If she wanted to snatch something from him, she would have to be very vareful for him not to see it. With his enhanced Slayer senses and magic senses, it was going to be a very difficult task. Anyone with an interest in treasure may be allowed to join. However, in order to do so, they must be willing to work for treasure. Jewels taken from here are documented and will measure with the amount of work done for the guild. If you think you are up for the challenge, I would be more than glad to add our mark onto you as a new member of the guild.

Of course he wouldn't let her have any of it just like that, people were stingy about these things. And even if this wasn't considered much by him, it was definitely way more than Leila ever had, or would have on her person. Calling something like that 'not much' was almost a crime. At least unless you were a rich man who owned a mansion with the greatest view of the sea ever. But in regards to what he said, it was... difficult.
