Gourmet World Island [Venir/Job]

She had asked the question countless time to countless guild members, none of which knew the location of the elusive wind mage. While neither of them really occupied the halls of Black Rose at the same time, Venir had hoped that he would appear within hall. She had gone as far as staying at Black Rose for an extended period of time, asking each member she saw as to his whereabouts but to no avail. It wasn't imperative that she talk to him. If anything it was trivial. Venir was hoping to sucker him into going on some job of sorts with her. There was something that she was looking to purchase. Venir had a hefty amount of money seeing as she rarely spent what she made on jobs, but what she was trying to purchase was quite expensive.... Which was partly why Venir had been taking on so many jobs as of late. Though she had grown tired of doing simple tasks that even the most basic of mages could complete. She had grown even more tired of doing jobs alone. What was a team for if one could not spend time with their team? Venir adored Izayuki but wouldn't dare to risk the poor tanuki's life on a challenging mission, but Elyx on the other hand? Well, he had already proven to Venir that both he and Ignite could take care of themselves on tough missions.

Ven huffed in annoyance and boredom, her blonde bangs ruffling against her forehead. It had been days and there was no sign of Elyx, nor did anyone seem to know where he had taken off to. At least not anyone that had encountered Venir yet. "I give up, I'm gonna die of boredom. If I die someone tell Elyx it's his fault!" She leaned back almost precariously in her chair, the slightest breeze threatening to tip her over. Someone having heard her melodramatic outburst had wandered over causing Venir to nearly tip over. Their good tidings made the almost accident worth it. "You know where he went!?" Her violet eyes nearly sparkled in joy, and she would have hugged the person if not for their next words.


Her voice came out in a yell, her brow furrowing. It was usual for Elyx to be on a mission without her, but her reaction was with not without warrant. She was just mildly upset that he had taken a mission without her when she had been so eagerly waiting for him to go on a mission. "Do you know where the location of it is?" Venir quickly inquired, standing up so quickly that her chair clattered to the floor. The poor member almost seemed to shrink because of the excitable fire mage, his voice came out in something akin to a squeak. "Thanks!" Venir beamed, locking the member into a bone crushing overheated hug. Their embrace was cut short by Venir by the scent of the other mages clothes burning from her body. Not wanting to waste another moment Venir called out an apology and a promise to pay for a new set of clothes once she got back.

Venir would have head straight towards, well, actually she had no idea where she would have straight for. She knew where the job location was, inside of a portal, but as far as the location of the said portal? Venir hadn't the faintest idea. She wasn't exactly known for her ability to think things through before jumping into action. Luckily, Venir hadn't gotten too far before she sensed the familiar presence of Elyx and Ignite. Ignite always felt like a warm beacon, and whenever Elyx was near there was always a certain energy in the wind like it was more alive than usual. That and his strength as an H-Rank mage made him nearly unmissable. She picked up her pace, using a burst of dark flames to launch her through the air faster towards her team mates.

While, his earlier statement hadn't been picked up the slayers sensitive ears, this one certainly had been as she was within a closer range. Her brow furrowed, and she grit her teeth together. "Can't wait another 1,000 years?" She swore a vein was going to burst out of irritation. She was the one who had been waiting days for him to go on a mission! He had only been waiting a few moments most likely! "I'll show you fast then..." Determined to prove him wrong, and make it on time, another burst of dark flames was used to propel her even faster through the air. The lands of black rose was nothing but a blur around her, and to any onlookers she also would have just been a blur moving through the air. Considering her low visibility due to her velocity, Venir could only aim towards the general direction in which she sense her partners. As the distance between them began to close rapidly, a new problem presented itself,


There wasn't exactly any brakes for Venir, and she was never one for a smooth landing. Ignite and Elyx were within sight now, but Venir hadn't slowed down at all. Behind them was what Venir assumed to be a portal to the islands. "Well, he was the one complaining about waiting..." Venir gave a smug grin, and it almost seemed as if her speed had increased. What little distance between her and her partners had closed. Spreading her arms like an airplane, one arm hooked about Ignite's waist, and the other was around Elyx's. Still she did not slow and instead continued moving, pushing the two of them along with her. Moving as fast as she was Venir couldn't help but smirk slightly as she more or less tackled the pair through the portal, and into whatever lay on the other side. Not caring that she might have just tackled them into potential danger, her mind was far more focused on proving Elyx wrong, surely the two of them wouldn't be too mad at her?

Surprisingly enough Venir had managed to succesfully tackle both Elyx and Ignite through the portal. Not that she ever doubted her ability to do so. Once the trio went through the portal, it wasn't quite what Venir had expected. For starters the portal closed behind them, making escape impossible less they get through the trials of the island, not that Venir believed they wouldn't be able to handle it. Still, it was always nice knowing that one had an escape plan if push come to shove. Even more unexpected was being hit with sudden darkness, and a vague feeling of...Falling!? Whether or not the others felt this Venir could not say, but her grip on them tightened, her eyes were squeezed shut, and a feeling of nausea washed over her. While god slayers were typically unaffected by transportation, whereas dragon slayers often got ill, Venir tended to be more like a dragon slayer in that aspect. Certain forms of travel, more specifically boats often gave her nausea, and the few times she had teleported often made her feel sick as well. This portal was no different only it was a strange sort of unconscious unease that one desperately wanted to wake up from. While, she couldn't feel anything except for the unease, and her two friends clutched in her arms, Venir took some comfort in the fact that she still had them. Though neither of them would have took comfort in knowing that the poor slayer might be ill...


Beneath her she could feel soft sand, nearby was the sound of waves hitting the shore, and above them was the warm glow of the sun. "Mmmm." She buried her head farther into the sand, still queasy, and still sleepy. In her arms she felts the familiar warmth of Ignite, as well as Elyx. Briefly she registered the feeling of him squirming, as well as his voice, and someone, probably Elyx, poking her head. "A few more minutes..." She grumbled groggily, pushing that feeling of queasiness away. Other sounds began to register in her ears, the sound of a forest, no, a jungle? Birds were chirping, and the sound of leaves getting ruffled by the slight sea breeze was heard. After some time Venir finally stirred some, more conscious than she was before, "Are we here? Where's the monsters?" She mumbled looking to both Elyx, and then Ignite before she realized what had happened. One would think he grip would loosen but instead it tightened, "Ha!" She finally exclaimed, any feelings of sickness or sleepiness getting burned away with her excitable nature, "Who's the slow one now! In your faces!" She grinned, resting her chin in the sand. Bits of sand still clung to her face, and was even in her hair but that blonde didn't seem to mind much. Venir was far too busy basking in her glow of supposed victory at having proven them wrong. It had not yet occurred to her that she had tackled them into the unknown, into danger, and had put them at risk for such childish reasons.

Elyx did not seem nearly as ecstatic as Venir was about the whole situation. How could he be? He was such a sore loser, "Well, I'm most certainly a winner because I got here very fast." She nodded to herself, not aware of how flawed her thinking was, "We're all winners if we make it out of here... Wherever we are..." She scratched at the back of her head before something dawned on her, "Actually... What are we supposed to be doing?" She inquired, the only details she had found out about the job was the location, or locations of it, as to what the three of them were actually supposed to do on the islands was beyond Venir. She released both of them from her grip, moving so that she was sitting in an upright position. Venir pawed the sand off of her face, not unlike how a cat might try to groom its face. As she attempted to rid any stray particles of sand off of her, she was watched with some amusement as Elyx attempted to wake up Ignite. "Awww let her sleep would ya?" Venir chimed in, unaware of just how well her voice carried on the island.


At this Venir frantically stood up, straining her ears for any sounds indicating approaching enemies. Ever since her first outburst of noise, plenty of creatures had been alerted to their presence on the strange island. The first to make an appearance was a panda...Body Builder!? The next creature to appear out of the foliage was a three-headed tiger that was all too familiar to Venir, enough so that she couldn't help but comment, "Look Elyx!" She squealed with apparent delight, "It's just like the one at that one tournament!" Her delight was short lived as a different kind of feline emerged, "Ew..." A grotesque, large, cat mixed with an octopus?! The last to emerge from the tree line made venir squeak, "A wolf!" She chirped, this one larger than even the ones in the Phoenix Mountains. Even the other beasts on the island seemed to shirk away from the canine. That was when the name of the island finally made sense to Venir,

Then that meant that the other islands were filled with the creatures that they were named after! Elyx didn't seem to have any qualms about the situation, and instead rushed towards the wolf, something that Ven was quietly thankful for. Dealing with canines, especially large ones was always a struggle for her. Slamming her fist into her palm, Venir gave a smirk to the other creatures of the forest that continuously emerged. If Elyx was going to give it his all against the wolf then she too would give it her all against the other creatures! Naturally the first go down against her flaming fists was the poor three headed tiger. It fell quickly due to her previous experience in dealing with the creature. Even after it had gone down there were countless other beasts to take its place. Taking in a sharp breath of air, Venir let out her own battle cry as she rushed into the mass of monsters,

Ven was content fight the other creatures, having taken down the three headed tigers with ease, she could only imagine that the others would be just as easy to take down. Ignite had also joined the fight, taking down opponents with her explosive strength. All was going well but luck was not on her side when it came to dealing with the beasts. While, Elyx had initially attacked the wolf it would seem that he would not continue his attack against the beast. Especially, not after what happened to Venir with catapus, the cat octopus.


Venir cried when one of its tentacles had touched her. There was no words to describe her immense dislike for anything that involved tentacles. They were too long and too squirmy, simply horrible. Under normal circumstance she expected tentacles to be slimy but since this was a cat octopus it's tentacles were covered in fur. Desperately she tried to swat it away, one of its tentacles coiled tightly about her waist as it lifted her body with ease. Considering the tentacles was traveling towards its mouth Venir expected that it was trying to eat her, but since Venir's body temperature was scorching, the creature threw her to the side like a rag doll. Only this rag doll landed not on the ground, but flew into the great wolf's side. The Catapus was stronger than it appeared and had thrown Venir hard enough that it made both the wolf, and herself go flying a few meters across the beach.


Venir rubbed her head, somewhat dizzy from the impact. Truth be told she wasn't really sure what she was thrown into, was it the body building panda? When she opened her violet eyes and saw the form of the wolf that was also recovering, Venir was sorely disappointed. "Now, now who's a good puppy?" She tried to coo, but the sharp growl she received in return was not a good sign. If giving it praise and affection would not work then she had little choice then to try and use intimidation. Planting her feet firm into the sand, her stance widened, and Venir took a deep breath,


She tried to ward the creature off to no avail, if anything her mock barking seemed to agitate it further and it made a lunge for her. Venir barely had enough time to let out a hurried flame goddesses bellow, but that seemed to do what she need it to. It made the creature back off, bits of it fur glowing with dark purple flames. "Bad puppy..." She growled, receiving a growl for the wolf in return. Cracking her knuckles, both of them clashed once more. At least the wolf was an improvement from the catupus.... Just thinking of it made a shiver run down her spine. A sharp claw dug into her leg reminding her that her attention needed to be focused on her fearsome opponent. Using her fire body to burn the wound from the claw shut, Venir once more pounced into action,

The wolf and Venir continuously exchanged blows, her size let her avoid most of the wolf's deadly lunges and slashes. Though her flame coated fists didn't seem to be doing a very good job at hurting the wolf, even when using her full strength. Fists versus claws, small versus large, it was a battle that was not in her favor. All Venir had going for her was determination and some particularly potent dark flames. One of the wolf's claws barely nicked her, shredding up her tall stocking on her leg. Of course the wolf was not let off easily as its claws merely slid through her flame body, and it ended up inflicting damage on the creature. Unfortunately, that didn't mean that Venir didn't feel the pain from the wolf's attack either, while it wouldn't leave a physical wound on her, it did still hurt.


She cried out, tossing herself to the side as the wolf slashed at her again with its unburnt claws. It would seem that her attacks were beginning to anger the great wolf. She rolled out of the way from another one of its slashes, continuously having to dodge the creature. Venir was definitely in a tough spot, "I'm just gonna have to hold out, it's angry now so that must mean my attacks are getting through. I can do this, I just need to wait until Elyx and Ignite have finished off their share of-" Her violet gaze momentarily flickered to check up on her companions, were they struggling just as much as she was with their opponents? What she saw only made her blood boil in anger-

Ignite was perched in a tree reading a book seemingly without a care in the world. Elyx on the other hand seemed to have taken care of his fair share of monsters but.... He seemed to be spectating? "YOU'RE JUST GONNA LET ME STRUGGLE!?" She yelled out in irritation, after all she was barely holding her own against the damn wolf but those two seemed more than a little relaxed. Once again just barely dodging the claws of the large wolf, Venir planted her feet firmly down into the ground. "Why don't-" She began, cocking her fist back, "You get off your asses-" Dark flames coated her fist, "And help me!" With that she slammed her fist into the wolf's side. Using all of her strength she managed to send the large creature flying towards her companions with a burst of purplish black flames.

The wold gave a resounding whimper and yowl of pain from the attack, its large body sliding to a stop in the sand. Thinking that perhaps the creature was finally done with, Venir was sorely disappointed as it clambered up to its feet. "Awww come on won't ya just go down already?" She cracked her knuckles, were they here just to defeat the beasts? Or rather weren't they supposed to be collecting something or other from the beast in front of them?
