    Chronicles of the Etherblade E5bff60bafc1c29814e5000e29f3425ca1763bbb_zpsyjzd7crx
Primary Magic: Chronicles of the Etherblade / or just simply Etherblade
    Secondary Magic: --
    Caster or Holder: Holder
Description: The Chronicles aim to tell a tale through a medium dubbed the Etherblade (or Aetherblade, if you float that way with words). Usually, the Etherblade is a modeled sword, crafted to match the user's affinity with battle from their past lives. The Chronicles are typically recollections of whomever wielded the same affinity as the current user. Using the blade, the user is able to materialize the recollections as magic energy that passes through the blade and scatters throughout their body, granting them special abilities and enhancements. Usually, The Chronicles' magic are notably known as "Inspiration", and the the recollections themselves, are called "Imprints". To put it simply, the blade acts as the bridge between the imprints as the user hopes to call on inspiration from them.

An imprint is usually the battle spirit of great warriors in the past who wielded the same weapon (or those who've forged a similar weapon), however, in can range from a single warrior to an entire armada of men, or perhaps an imprint of the spirit of a blade itself. Often times, the inspiration comes off as physically enhancing abilities such as improved swordsmanship, boosts in speed or ounces of strength, unrestricted movements or the ability to heal injuries, if not for a small measure (for a certain imprint).

In Terith's case, his Etherblade grants him the recollections of the old samurais and ninjas and blacksmiths, the shinsegumi and other old armies of men, and the spirits of the blades such as Tsurumaru or Mikazuki Munechika, even going as far as the souls of those dedicated their time to Shinto or the practice of Onmyodo. In essence, his blade is modeled after the Yamanbagiri and he often refers to it as so. Granted, the Priestess who casted him away was the person who "crafted" the blade from his fountain pen. His etherblade also grants him notable mastery in every branch of Kenjutsu so long as he can successfully call out the inspiration from the imprint.

    Strengths:
►Enhances the user's physical fighting prowess and provides diversity with the various Kenjutsu Styles opened up to him.
►The user isn't limited to physical enhancements but can also create magical physical attacks with the right inspiration.
►The user can also cast buffs using the inspiration permitted by the battle spirit towards allies so long as the imprint is not a single warrior (e.g. a boost in determination, perhaps, when the imprint is an army)
►The etherblade doesn't rely entirely on its imprints to deal damage, but rather, as a weapon itself, it deals a relative damage that ranks up with the user, representing its holder's growth.

    Weaknesses:
►The user is limited to swordstyles that are related to his affinity (e.g. Kenjutsu)
►Issues arose when the magic was first injected into the vessel's body - because of the strain of his humanity limiting its powers, the Chronicle could not fully manifest its capability, and hence, some of the 'spells' that're stored inside it are viable to lack spell damage (and will instead have melee damage, unless stated otherwise).
►Though diverse in physical attacks, the spells do not offer any form of elemental attack initially and thus has a limited skill set otherwise.
►Every new imprint comes with a price to pay before it can fully house itself in the Chronicle (e.g. an ounce of blood, a memory, etc.).
►The Priestess actually put a penalty on Terith the moment she created Yamanbagiri, one that made him extremely weak if his etherblade was separated from him for more than 20 meters (although this is revertible, The Priestess has several demanding conditions Terith has to meet -plot wise.).
►One can only do so much with a sword in comparison to the more flexible of magics.

    Lineage: Conqueror's Courage:
Description: There once was a nameless conqueror who sought to rule the world. However, in his days much land was left unexplored and filled with dangerous creatures man had never faced before. The nameless conqueror was the first to gather a large group of followers and to lead a conquest into those dark lands. Until long ago many people were still unsure about how he managed to convince so many men to follow him. Most believed he had used some form of magic. The only one who ever came back from the conquest was the conqueror's son who explained that all other conquerors had been killed. The conqueror's son eventually joined the military and showed that he possessed the same leader skills as his father, his war cries and morale boosts had resulted in many victories. The descendants of these conquerors today also retain the same abilities as their ancestors. To boost the morale of their companions, and to resist the war-cries of the enemies.

Ability: Can deliver War-Cries. Gains a signature spell of user’s rank(Max A-rank) and a spell of their rank(Max S-rank) that always affects all allies within at least 100meters of any other ally. This War-Cry are magically enhanced and can heal, boost ability,  encourage regeneration, ect...They're always supportive and can't cause harm to anyone directly.

Usage: Gains a signature spell slot(Max A-rank) to make a War-Cry and a spell of their rank(Max S-rank) to make another War-Cry. War-Cries are dependent on spell creation.

Hello, Terith! I'm Marceline Anicetus and I'll be the one grading your magic application for the day. So, if you have any questions or concerns, shoot them toward me and I'll answer them to the best of my ability. Unfortunately, I do have work in an hour or so; thus, I won't be around right away to finish grading your magic. With that being said, you can find any graded parts of the magic in this color.

    Okay.

I did a ton of edits here. First off, I made sure to repair my D-ranks to make them relevant even if my character's now C-rank. As I realized from RPing that they heavily crippled his utility and damage output with all the unnecessary draw backs I put in. I hoped that I balanced them accordingly.

Another is I updated one of the strengths. I -intensely- remember how I wanted the etherblade to deal damage even without inspiration as a "holder weapon". I think I must've forgotten to add it in at the last minute, or I must've erased it by mistake. I added it back in and removed an old strength that was already a given fact for holder magics that they don't break.

I also tweaked one of the UAs. Lesser Attunement is now Greater Attunement. I decided to do so because of plot reasons, because I'd like Terith's magic to grow with him as a whole. Now I know I skipped my C-rank exam, but I planned to have a more relaxed "moving up" thread that involved my character going on some short form of soul searching and him finding out about things from the imprint Souji. I'll have it up shortly after I get all of this checked (because I don't want to go on Jobs for a while).

Oh and in-relation to that, the new UA is to be based on what he learns from Souji, which I've already implied in this thread, last post. The ability is more or less my way of saying that Terith can hack a bunch of slashes continuously without people thinking that I was making him do stuff that he couldn't do.

Some minor edits were put into the war-cries like upping some numbers, otherwise, I barely touched them.

And just for a tiny bit of info, I rounded up the C-rank spells with an intention to fill in the holes I went through with Terith in a fight when I went on a job with a higher rank. I had trouble orchestrating a situation for Terith because of the limited options I gave him. I blame myself entirely for that. I made the new spells with an idea to at least make him viable to go on those harder jobs without me worrying if I screw up and accidentally make him go god-mode because I didn't want him to fail.

The signatures are more or less a counter to the elements that Terith lacks, by the way, and I kind-of wanted him to have variety apart from just buffs and sword attacks.

Those're my two cents on the matter. I might have gone overboard with some, but I'm open to edits and/or suggestions because as he was before as a D-rank, Terith was a little awkward to roleplay as...(especially with his war-cries lol) and sort of boring when compared to other mages with elemental spells. I hope to fix him up at this point.

In other words....Bump. Ready for checking.

Hey there, it's me, Marceline Anicetus! You know what I'm here for, so anything that needs editing is in this color. You may ask any questions that you have or refute an edit as needed.

    • With very minimal battle experience as a whole, the overwhelming inspiration may come as a shock for Terith and may cause him to become nauseous for several minutes, making him vulnerable without proper training (which is why it's recommended for him to call out in training, not in battle).

Edited what was needed. Also, apologies for one of the C-rank spells that had D in the rank, my mistake...

I didn't notice your edit in the Hirazuki until much later, when I noticed that there was a different font in it. Ahaha.

For the mamyu-ken, that must have been a lost-in-translation thing, so I re-worded and made sure I got the idea across. Terith has the choice to immediately use it and not max out Tane's duration, but in doing so, he won't get the damage bonus. This'd hit every point, but I lowered the damage bonus to make it manageable.

I added the edits for Hijikata's thingy in the strengths, and adjusted it accordingly for D-ranks. As for the Shiremasen, I've added the edits in the weaknesses to make them more definite.

For the forge, I've put in a specific detail for the number of swords he can max out at this point as one weakness, but added another strength to balance it.

And everything else was edited as requested.

Banzai Warcry, I'd still like for it to only heal a C rank's worth of damage to any allies it's cast upon.

Souji's Bane, I'd like for the total amount of damage it can deal to be 1.5x D rank damage.

Okay, updated. I'm not sure what you meant as a total of 1.5 D-rank damage since I already put it in beforehand. But I changed the wording so it'd better suit it. ^^

Oh crap. I was confused. OH GOD. SORRY.

I edited the wrong effing spell. *bows* Super sorry.

I'll go deal with that rn.

Howdy Terith. Now I understand what these imprints are (Which will make grading your weapon pretty easy now). But anything you see in this color (since your color was too similar to mine @.@), those are things I'd like to ask you to correct.
But let's get to this, mr ninja

In Terith's case, his Etherblade grants him the recollections of the old samurais and ninjas and blacksmiths, the shinsegumi and other old armies of men, and the spirits of the blades such as Tsurumaru or Mikazuki Munechika.

    Strengths:

    • Enhances the user's physical fighting prowess and provides diversity with the various Kenjutsu Styles opened up to him.
    • The user isn't limited to physical enhancements but can also create magical physical attacks with the right inspiration.
    • The user can also cast buffs using the inspiration permitted by the battle spirit towards allies so long as the imprint is not a single warrior (e.g. a boost in determination, perhaps, when the imprint is an army)
    • The etherblade doesn't rely entirely on its imprints to deal damage, but rather, as a weapon itself, it deals a relative damage that ranks up with the user, representing its holder's growth.

    Weaknesses:

    • The user is limited to swordstyles that are related to his affinity (e.g. Kenjutsu)
    • Though diverse in physical attacks, the magic does not offer any form of elemental attack and thus has a limited skill set otherwise.
    • Normally, when an imprint simply refuses to bestow the inspiration, the user may need to sacrifice something (e.g. an ounce of blood, a memory, etc.) to appease it.
    • The Priestess actually put a penalty on Terith the moment she created Yamanbagiri, one that made him extremely weak if his etherblade was separated from him for more than 20 meters (although this is revertible, The Priestess has several demanding conditions Terith has to meet -plot wise.).
    • With very minimal battle experience as a whole, the overwhelming inspiration may come as a shock for Terith and may cause him to become nauseous for several minutes, making him vulnerable without proper training (which is why it's recommended for him to call out in training, not in battle).

    Here we go.

So for Greater Attunement, I tried to clarify what the "boost" meant whilst finding a better word for it. Added in a crucial detail, btw. The way this magic works is that it relies on Melee Damage + Weapon and multiplies it via attacking with the weapon several times in a given second. Therefor most of the spells don't have ranked damage at all unless the user asks the imprint to do so or if it says in the description that it deals damage. Greater Attunemet makes the spells able to deal ranked damage similar to what you'd expect from simple attack spell. To be fair, I said that it replaces his melee damage and can only be done with 1 hit (which is akin to performing one ranked spell = one ounce of ranked damage). Hopefully that clarified it. ^^

As for the other things, I edited them accordingly. For Tane, I specified that the bleed is a DOT, though the overall damage effect of it is kinda...a placeholder, as I forgot the rules for DOTs, so I'd like that checked if possible.

    All in all, bumping!

►Updated both war cries. I switched them so that Eiko would be the normal C-rank spell, and that Defiance would become the signature spell, because having it cost MP while restoring MP kinda defeats the purpose. Edited the restored MP and made it 4%.
►Updated Tokugawa Sai Yobidashi. Removed the MP it restores and just made it reduce 2 cooling down spells by 1 post.

Otherwise, the others were left untouched. Bumping! : D
