Spice [Black Rose Members only]

"So what are we expecting to get out of this investigation?" Natalia asked as she drove the car all the way towards Lavanitir Port City. Dubhlainn and his new partner Natalia are driving towards the very city owned and under the control of Black Rose. This city's laws are strict and any kind of conflict will earn bounties on their heads.


"We need to keep an eye on Black Rose for their activities, and see if they have ever heard of the Windcott poison." Since the port city is clearly under martial law, they are driving in without any weapons at all, other than the pocket knives they have.

"I only read about that certain poison in the file, are you sure there's no known cure about it?" Natalia shot a puff cloud out of the driver's window.

"Unfortunately no, however it is imperative that we get it to the Grand Magus so that he can synthesize it and formulate an antidote, if that poison becomes famous in the underworld here, there's absolutely no telling who would get their hands on it or whatever purpose they have. If the Black Rose knew of its existence or even the Azeron alliance, then I wouldn't be surprised if there are sides trying to take it. Besides I don't trust the Black Rose and its members, this is why we are going into the city to find out." Dubhlainn checks his watch, its about 2pm.

The Vehicle stopped towards a checkpoint, a local guard requests that he inspect the vehicle and scan it for any magical items and weapons. The request was accepted and a full scan was conducted, after a few minutes they are clear to drive on into the city.

"Just as you'd expect from a city under martial law."Natalia commented as her eyes scanned the roads for any militants walking by.

"I've heard rumors that the Black Rose has scientists, bio-mechanical engineers and bio magical researchers working here, they also have acquired some military tech from foreign regions."  There's much truth to what Dubhlainn has spoke off, he already had witnessed Black Rose's activities and they are usually organized. It makes the guild a force to be reckoned with, for someone like Dubhlainn who used to be in the military, aside from mythical creatures, demi-humans and mixed bloods, Black Rose is a far greater threat to him as it maybe to anyone, whether they hail from a Legal or Dark Guild.

"Is it possible that the tech could have been from Mirai by chance?" Natalia smudges the smoke on the door of the vehicle, then puts it away.

"That's what I wanted to know.... stop here Natalia, we'll have to go on foot." The vehicle stops, both Dubhlainn and Natalia exited the vehicle.

"We'll need to know our way around the city first, its obvious that the eastern side of the city would be the docks, we need to inspect their industrial facilities and if possible, we need to find a place that can give us some good information." The two started walking towards the busy streets.

"I can see why Garan no Dou has no power over this place, reminds me of the old days."

"Don't pray for a bad past to come back to haunt you Natalia."

"Just take it easy, for all they know, we're just tourists..."

This guild is the remnants of a crime syndicate that was once based in Bosco that was destroyed. While the syndicate was destroyed, its contacts and hit squads remained in the dark. Little is known where they originally came from but that's the fear there, their mystery is shrouded by a black mist. They became the bounty hunting guild they are today and as of now they are growing in power. This guild does not care about who the client is, which is preferred by most when they need something done.

"According to the reports from scouts... their major research centers should be hidden undeground and are most likely the most heavily defended areas."

"I doubt that, Black Rose is aware of the fact that it opened its gates for the sake for its own economy. They need buyers to come in to maintain financial resources, they aren't dumb enough to think that potential enemies and threats may enter the area here. Regardless of where the research areas are, I don't think they'd make it appear like a heavily guarded area. As more citizens are to come into this city as well as the ones from overseas, most of their more areas in their domain would gradually become public places. In Mirai, once new data has been refined, they'd automatically transfer the data to the command center to record everything in the archive, should such precious data remain, they'll attract hives and if not in the command center, it should have been a remote location outside the city."

"Sounds scary, no wonder the Magus hired you for this mission huh? You really are an experienced veteran, I could use a man of your intuition sometime when I host my own skirmishes."
The two of them entered a pub and sat in a table.

"So if we can find that place...."
"I'll do the rest." said Natalia.

Technomancers, Dubhlainn knows a few of them in his lifetime, Technomancers travel places in order to be employed to the highest bidder, Black Rose seems like one of those ideal place. Biomagical researchers, Biomechanical engineers, arms dealers, mercenaries offered by the black rose, an air hangar and a shipyard.

They can easily sweep the Magic Council right under their feet with this much firepower, they are starting to become a military group rather than a mercenary group.

"Two of the most expensive rice meal you guys have available." called Natalia as the waiter proceeds to the counter to deliver the order.

"So where did the Old man found you, Natalia?"

"Well I was in another mercenary group called the Hyenas."
"You mean..."
"Yes, I was part of a group that used to be a threat to the Black Rose, however since operations and commanding officers were all killed, we disbanded and I soon became a freelance Mercenary, there aren't many charming men in the group but there are indeed a few notable mercs I could name, some even risked their lives for the sake of the Hyenas but all that was in vain when the Black Rose conducted their special operations against us. Merlin hired me not only because he needed a woman of my talent, rather I have intel on Black Rose that he doesn't have yet."

"What are you apologizing for? Its not really a bad memory, its a matter of having stupid people for group members, that's all."
