Memory of a Memory

It had been a month since Selah left the grounds of Laughing Coffin for good. It wasn't lively enough for her, no parties, no action. Just a bunch of sitting around while they waited for a new job, that just wasn't the life for her. She needed somewhere where things were always happening, where action was a commonplace. She had though about Fairytail, but something in her mind told her "No". Her sights were now fixed onto the Sabertooth Guild, which to her knowledge was pretty similar to Fairytail. As she approached the large and imposing Sabertooth guild hall she had a smile on her face, knowing that this was the place for her.

She walked up to the main hall doors, pushing them open before stepping in and looking around. Oh yeah, this place was definitely for her. The thing that sealed the deal was their library though, it was the perfect place to study and learn new magic to use.

Mashyuu hobbled around the guild hall, after his fight with the Demon King and his minions he needed some real time to simply heal his wounds and get back on the mend before going out on yet another job. After all it was the closest Mashyuu had ever truly come to death in his life. He was just walking past the front doors of the guild hall when he caught the scent of someone he had never met before. The man stopped and looked over his shoulder, brown hair staying up perfectly.

The young man smiled at the attractive woman and smoothed out the short, one sleeved brownish grey jacket. The leather of his red and black fingerless gloves cracked as he took a few steps towards her and spoke in a kind tone. "Hey there! Names Mashyuu. New to the guild? Or maybe your looking to join?"

(( Just dropping in to say that I wont be able to reply for the next few days, the next time I reply should be on sunday! Go ahead and keep replying so I have something to come back to ))

Selah was just marveling at the detail the guild hall contained, when she heard a voice in the hall, looking in its direction to see a man wearing fingerless gloves. Fingerless gloves, man it had been years since Selah had seen anyone wearing those. She smiled at him and nodded. "I actually am looking to join! Who do I see to do that?" She asked, walking up to him and sticking out her hand offering a hand shake. She looked him over, his image ingraining itself into her memory. Lets see if she could guess what kind of magic he used...

Judging by the fade of his clothing, and the faint smell of dirt, it was clearly some form of earth element magic. But what form was it, was it even one she knew? She kept thinking, looking him over some more. The magical presence he gave off was something familiar to Selah, but it definitely wasn't something common.

"Hey, gloves, Ive got a question for you. What kind of magic do you use?""She asked, still looking the man over intently one last time to see if she could figure it out on her own.

"Looking to Join huh? Well you just need to talk to the Guild Master.... Um. I guess right now that would be Fred. I don't know where he's set up at the moment. Things are a bit tricky right now but I promise that you will be in the guild in a swift fashion. Until we find him I'm happy to show you around. If you would like that?" Mashyuu couldn't help but look the woman over once more before flashing her a toothy grin.

She was cute in a book wormy kind of way. Mashyuu could easily see the appeal in that. If he had to guess off hand he would say she used some sort of Solid Script magic but it was hard to say for sure without seeing her do anything. There were so many kinds of Magic and Mashyuu was seeing more of it every time he went on a job.

"Gloves? Huh, that's a new one. Let me tell you who I am. Then you might know what kind of Magic I use. My name is Mashyuu." The Earth Wizard waited for a few moments. Sometimes he forgot that while at this point in his life his name was spreading not everyone knew him. "Rising Star, Ace, and Earth Dragon Slayer."

Mashyuu... Mashyuu... That name was sort of familiar, but not quite. She thought about his offer to show her around, and decided to agree with it. Then she heard her magic. "Oh, your a dragon slayer then? That means a fight between us would actually be fair, I cant copy dragon slayer magic. Well, not fully." She said, smiling at him and wondering if he would catch onto her magic. "Oh and by the way, I would love it if you showed me around here." Selah stretched out her arms, before yawning. She was so used to the nightly scheduled of her old guild had her set to.

Dragon slayers were an intimidating force that was to be. A Memory make mage like herself could copy their spells but with varying damage. If she were to copy a Fire dragon slayer, she would walk away with third degree burns. If she copied a poison dragon slayer- well lets not go there. It was the same with requip, summon, and most holder magics.

"Fair fight? Hmm no such thing when It comes to me. I've swallowed bigger up and crushed most of the life out of em. Besides all my spells are self made. I know all their strengths and weaknesses." Mashyuu had gotten wise since he joined Sabertooth and was starting to be able to call out magics as folks spoke to him. "Memory Magic right?See a spell and learn to copy it on the fly so long as it's of a rank that you can muster?" Mashyuu asked and even his ring gave him a bit of credit for the swift conclusion he drew.

Gently Mashyuu extended his palm out towards.... "Ya know I never got your name. Think I could do that?" Mashyuu asked while taking her hand and stepping into the majority of the guild hall, walking her past the rooms and explaining that everyone in Sabertooth could have a room if they wanted.

"Yeah, thats the basics of it. I dont need to see it though, I can read about it, or get a basic explanation. And while I can copy an form of magic-" Selah said, pressing her finger to her temple, then watching as a paper duplicate of Mashyuu rose from the ground. "- Like molding magic, I prefer to use celestial spells, holy spells, you get it. The side of magic thats a little farther out then the base elements." Selah removed the paper double of Mashyuu from the ground, before following him with a smile.

Woah, free room and board. Laughing Coffin provided that but the rooms were so small and dusty, it didn't really feel like a home to her. This place really was designed well, the style of it really piqued Selah's interest, she would have to try something with it later. "Oh and in my opinion, the best thing I can do with Memory make is mix spells! Its not like mixing regular spells, any mage can do that. For memory make wizards its a little different, kind of like making a spell salad. I just havent really gotten the hang of doing it on the spot yet.

As Selah and Mashyuu continued their walk among the guild hall, they eventuakky came across a rather unfriendly face at the residential area. That face belonged to no one else then Frederick. A Sabertooth mage that apparently has made it is fulltime job to be hostile and annoyed every second of the day. And to make matters even worse, right now he had the odd couple in his crosshairs.

'so Mashyuu, Who might this brat be?' not even acknowledging Selah yet, Frederick spoke soley to Mashyuu.

Frederick was an entire contrast compared to all the other mages in the guild. Fully clad in black, with a large cloak that covered almost his entire being. He made the least of friendliest impressions on others. And if that wasn't enough, then surely his cold and often hostile attitude did the trick.

'well?'

Mashyuu brought Selah to the most open part of the guild while he glanced over at the beauty and considered her explanation of her magic. "Well the best way to get better at it is to try it on jobs. So lets get you joined up and rolling with this." Mashyuu said as Fred called out to the pair.

The Slayer rolled his eyes and half heartedly pointed at the man. "That's Fred, the current standing GM. You're gonna want to talk to him about joining I guess." Mashyuu stated. "Oh come on man, she has a mouth and she has a name. Why not ask her yourself?..... It can't be helped. Fred this is Selah, Selah this is Fred. The lady here want's to join Sabertooth and I don't think we are in any position to say no."

Selah looked towards the voice she heard, seeing another man standing there. Did. Did her just call her a brat? She glared at him and scoffed. "Well, You're certainly a rude one aren't you?" Selah said. She'll call him grouchy from now on. Then Mashyuu began to speak. "He doesn't look the guildmaster I saw before, what happened? There was an article about Sabertooth a few months ago, I saw the guild master in it, and Grouchy there doesn't look like them."

Selah then keyed in on the last bit of information. "Yeah, I do want to join and all, but what's this about not being in a position to say no? Are you guys desperate for members here or something?

'It's Frederick, Mashyuu, not Fred. Don't make me keep reminding your every time' Responded Frederick a bit agitated. 'You are not in any position to address me as anything else'

The unknown girl apparently was a new member, or possible member that came to look around the guild. And according to Mashyuu she was called Selah.

'A remarkable observation' responded Frederick sarcastically 'But yeah, currently the whereabouts of our Guild Master is unknown, probably off on some sort of private mission. Till then I am the leading authority in this guild. Well me, and the other S ranks that is' Truth was, even Frederick didn't really know where Hikari Starr, their master really was. Or her betrothed for that matter. Both of them left over a week ago, and none has heard of them since. Either way that was a mystery he was going to look into later on. For now he had some official Sabertooth business to deal with.

'What Mashyuu mean with that was' he continued 'is that I as a seat filler don't have the full authority to deny any mage that wants to join. At least not unless they are obvious trouble.'

I placed it so that this situation is happing before the event. So that if you want you can still join and jump in Ace.

Mashyuu blinked in annoyance for a moment while he listened to Fred speak. The Slayer tossed his hands up and started to walk away but stopped short. The last thing that the woman needed was to be assaulted by Fred verbally. The brown haired Wizard spun around on his heels and took the hand of Selah. "Guess that means your in. Come on we can finish the rest of the tour. Fred, try to lighten up huh?"

The Wizard grinned at Fred and started off down the hall to the job board. "Now that your a Wizard here we should get you started on a job right away. Some don't do it but the most famous Wizards in Sabertooth are always working. I'm only here every few weeks or so really. To recover from my jobs when some of them almost kill me."

Selah laughed at the mention of only being around to recover from wounds. "Thats the life of a mage though, always something in pain." The purple haired woman joked. Then something popped into her head. "Where do I go to get my guild tattoo?" She asked, looking over Fred with pondering eyes. "Come on Grumpy, your standing Guild Master, you've got to know where to get me Guild Tattoo."

She then looked back at Mashyuu. "That reminds me, I haven't been on a job in weeks, im kind of broke right now? Heh, guess thats what happens when your on the journey to another guild I guess." She said, cracking her knuckles. She was definitely ready to get out and do something, that was for sure. She had spent the past few days cooped up in a train on the way here.
