There was something different about visiting his home town this time. The memories that normally plagued him of the place weren't nearly as painful, and as a matter of fact he was having difficulties figuring out what a lot of them were. He knew that his parents' death would always be one that he would remember here, but as the sky looked to be preparing to fall from the sky for the evening, casting shadows over the small town Mitsuo chuckled and thought only of this place as a part of his past, not necessarily a bad one. A small breeze caused the cloak he was wearing to rustle behind him, the surprisingly light bastard sword on his back moving with it and hair falling before his eyes. For once, he wasn't worried about the hairs clouding his memories, which was a relief all in itself.

He stood in front of the restaurant which had sent out a job to scare off some ruffians who had been bothering the owner, something that he hated to think of. The village was generally a fairly calm place, but he knew that it had its issues with gangs and crime, just as all places did. He was waiting on his partner for this job, the young ex dark wizard whom he had spoken too in their guild hall for a while. He was looking forward to having a chance to get to know her a little bit better, and especially to see her fascinating magic in action, something that he had been interested in since he had first met her. Kanix seemed like someone who would do her best for the guild, as she seemed like she had something to prove, and Mitsuo imagined that she would be a good person to work with.

As he stood in front of the building he scanned around, looking out for Kanix but also checking to see if he could see any signs of movement in the distance. He wasn't sure when they would show up, but when these thugs showed up all he knew was he was going to show them why you don't mess with Mitsuo's home town...

Hargeon Town had the salty scent of ocean water constantly on its breeze, and it was a smell that Kanix greatly enjoyed. The scent reminded of her beaches, and beaches were a favorite thing of hers because of the sand between her toes. She had some of her most favored memories at the beach, especially of the time she learned how to build her first sandcastle. That had been the most amusing time for, until it ended up in a nosebleed with her friend that she didn't entirely know how to take care of. Handling blood wasn't something she enjoyed; blood was meant to stay inside of the blood, not come out of it. In which, that moment could be said that it ruined her liking of beaches, but no, no it had not ruined beaches for her. So, she breathed in deeply the salty ocean air of Hargeon Town and made her way to the restaurant for the job with Mitsuo.

He should be there already, as he had gone ahead of her, probably because he didn't want to wait on a blind person. She couldn't blame him though; as a blind person, she liked being able to take in the details of her surroundings, so she could better remember it. Not to mention that it was basically a maze for her to walk around, between, and through people who crowded the sidewalk. That was the most difficult part of being blind, especially when her staff didn't help much in her seeing things. Plus, people often times kicked her staff out of her hand or knocked into her, which caused her drop her staff. However, she eventually made it to the restaurant, and could sense the magic presence of Mitsuo not far off. A smile laced over her lips and she'd wave to him, to show that she had made it unharmed to the place of their meeting.

"Okay, so what are we supposed to do exactly? Just stand outside and wait for the thugs to come around?" Kanix inquired when she was closer to him.

While it was a decent day, the breeze still had a nippiness to it that made goosebumps slightly crawl on her skin. Mitsuo had a cloak, what did she have? A bone necklace. She had made a great choice of attire today. Maybe she should've reverted to her favorite coat. Fortunately, she could handle the cold.

Mitsuo saw her coming towards him, the blind girl walking through the streets. He didn't even think of it, knowing that he should have given her a hand making her way here. He wasn't one to leave a friend behind no matter what, but he also had a somewhat bad memory right now, details seeming to slip past him quite often. He imagined it was an after effect of having to unlearn a magic that enhanced his memory, and in a while he would be back to normal. He helped her towards the building that he was standing outside of. "I'm sorry, I should have come with you. I know this village better than most." When she asked him what they were supposed to be doing he honestly didn't have a real answer for her.

"I guess we're waiting, I"m trying to see if I Can spot them, but so far you're the only person I've seen. People have been avoiding this place like the plague since they started getting attacked." He cracked his knuckles and chuckled softly, "So our job is to 'convince' them to stay away from here, in whatever way keeps them away." He smirked and took his blade in his hand, the large bastard sword generally being a deterrent to whoever saw it. He looked back towards the street, where he could see movement in the distance. It was currently too far away to truly make out what it was, but Mitsuo was expecting it was one of the thugs they had heard about coming to attack the place again.

"We might end up dealing with them faster than I'd expected." Mitsuo stated as he saw something moving slowly towards the restaurant. He looked towards Kanix, noticing that she seemed to be a tad under-dressed for the temperature that was currently blowing through the port town, but as she hadn't mentioned it he guessed that she didn't notice or didn't mind. It was common for places on the ocean to be a bit cool, and Hargeon was no exception, the evenings and night tending to be extremely cold. The shifting seemed to get closer every second, and it was almost within view for him to see...

Her head swiveled in the direction of footsteps, quite loud as if they were not trying to hide their advancement at all. While Mitsuo had the advantage of sight, Kanix had the advantage of a heightened sense of hearing. Surely, his was strong as well, hers not nearly as strong, but she wanted to feel special just this one moment. Swiveling on her feet, she'd face the direction that the footsteps were coming from, trying to listen distinctly to them. How fast were they coming in? How close were they? How big were these enemies going to be... these thugs? She twisted her staff on the ground, digging its sharp end into the cement of the sidewalk, waiting, waiting... Kanix whirled around again, facing Mitsuo, staring him dead in the eyes with her sightless orbs, but not looking at him.

An odd birdlike screech rang in her ears, but she didn't react to it as oddly as she had the ranging footsteps. They were nearing closer too, and soon, their presence crawled along her back, and she twirled back around. Her staff went up, and the ram horn's slammed into the chest of a thug, blood splattering to the ground from the impact. With her enemy impaled on the horns, Kanix's eyes glowed along with the emerald stones on her staff. She gritted her teeth, and electricity sparked first at the nostrils of the skull, then coursed its way, until it became too strong. In which, the woman released the lightning bolt into the body of the thug she had trapped, electrocuting him. His body convulsed at the shock, sparks of electricity running along his limbs and through the blood on his body.

Prying the horns loose from his body, she'd hear him stumble backward, the shock of the lightning dissipating. The two other thugs were going after Mitsuo, while she had been busy taking care of this first thug coming after her. She frowned though, her attention slightly diverted by the other two thugs, and after a second's hesitation, she slammed her staff into the ground. It cracked a deafening sound to her ears, and the gems in the eyes of the skull started to glow again, along with her eyes. Noxious green gas spilled out from the nostrils of the skull, weaving down to the ground to surround the five of them. This noxious gas, while dangerous to the thugs, wouldn't harm the two Fairy Tail mages in the least bit. A spell that was designed to hurt only the caster's enemies, but never allies, to poison and burn their innards.

Mitsuo could feel her lightning coursing through the thug's body, the raw elemental power of the woman surprising him a little bit as he drew his Blade of Atlas in his right hand, and one of his other blades in his left, smiling softly as he ran up to meet the two thugs who were walking towards him. He saw the sad weapons in their hands, not underestimating them but also not overly worried. "You messed with the wrong place, punks!" He would yell, getting up to them and leading with a right to left slash up high from his left sword, which they would go to block but be forced to take the follow up blow just slightly lower right to left from his Blade of Atlas, slicing into each of their right sides as he spun. He watched as one of the clubs came in at him, bringing the left sword to bear and swinging out at the one wielding it with his foot, catching him around the knees so that he would buckle.

As the first enemy fell to his knees, winded from the strike, Mitsuo would slam his fists together and activate his Armour of Kaanayago, steel coating his entire body. A dagger clattered against his arm as he finished the transformation and he smiled a crooked half smile at his opponent, who looked somewhat surprised. Mitsuo took the pommel of his Blade of Atlas and smashed it into the man's face, breaking his nose in the process before he elbowed him in the temple, dropping him down to the ground unconscious. He was enjoying this, taking the dagger that had clattered against his arm and taking a bite out of it, eating the thing in front of the dazed teammate who was getting back to his feet, left hand sword back at his belt and right coming up to bare as he had watched the man prepare to come at him once again...

The noxious gas was one thing just filling the air with potent, diseased chemicals, but it was another once inhaled. For those poor, unfortunate souls that had breathed in the toxic fumes, they would begin to feel as if their innards were melting. Their eyes would burn, and they would have an insatiable thirst that would parch their tongue, lips, and throat. At which point, their skin would begin to swell and boil up the more they inhaled the gaseous poison, and their throats would clog. They would not be able to breathe so thoroughly now, left struggling for the air that just couldn't pass through. Hands would drop their weapons and grapple at the one thing they wanted, but was just out of their reach. Soon, their knees would buckle, their eyes would roll to the backs of their head, hands grabbing their swollen gorges.

As for the bird that had tagged along with the thugs? Well, not much was seen of it before it took one whiff of the gas and turned tail.

The gas would disperse with the passing breeze, and as it did so, the boils on their skins disappeared, and their swelling of the skin went down. Any longer in the toxins and they would have died, but unfortunately, the wind was the weak point of the spell. Kanix also knew she wasn't supposed to kill people, yet it was a spell like this that often brought her back to the darker side of things. Maybe she would have to learn how to control her magic better, so as not to unintentionally kill people with it. Trained, after all, by the dark guild of Basilisk Fang, she still had a bit of that urge to kill inside of her, even if it meant hurting herself. A hand reached up and lightly touched her upper lip, feeling the blood that trickled down from her nose. Quickly, she'd wipe it away and take a step back from the three unconscious thugs, fearing the worst of herself.

Was that the end of it? Was that all that they had to deal with? Heavens no, it was far from being over. Kanix coughed a little, blood spattered onto her hand and she'd groan before rubbing her curled hand on her hip. It was never the best thing to go too far with a spell or she faced the consequences of feeling the pains of those who were close to death. Those thugs? They were only on the brink of death, but what she had done with her spell affected her the most. She feared that it would only get worse as the mission progressed. The more she fought, would She come back? The thought of her other half taking over again caused the goosebumps to come back and she shivered. However, the thought didn't last long, as her ears picked up the horrendous sound of something coming closer.

Mitsuo watched as the other two enemies keeled over, looking back at his partner, who was coughing right now. "Are you alright Kanix?" He asked before hearing heavy footfalls approaching. The smell and sound of steel was on the air and Mitsuo smiled as he heard the heavily armoured man approach, sword and shield drawn. He looked like one of the paladin's of folklore, though he knew that wasn't exactly the case with this man. He quickly stepped forward to meet the man, throwing a thrust towards his face with his left hand and the longsword in it, which was easily deflected by the shield as he also led in with a right to left slash to his side, trying to catch him at a weak point in his armour.

The man wouldn't let Mitsuo get his shot in, and he felt him twist as the shot slid off of his armour and past him causing no harm. He bit his lip and stepped back, this one was actually going to be a challenge. He knew that Kanix seemed to have some powers that would be able to avoid his steel, but unless Mitsuo could eat it he would have to hammer away at it until it weakened. He wasn't going to be defeated so easily, which was just fine by Mitsuo. His swords worked around his shield and managed to slam a few hits home but all of them clattered off of the armour. He jumped back and quickly sheathed his longsword, casting his Lance of Hephaestus and punching a hole through the man's sword shoulder, causing the arm to drop slightly. "You can't stand up to The Metal God Slayer, Tin man." He shouted out to the thug, keeping his eyes fixed forward as he did so. The man slammed into Mitsuo, pressing him back with his shield, sword coming to clatter off of his steel skin as Mitsuo chuckled, kicking the man in the knee to try to disorient him. HE saw the knee buckle slightly and took a swing directly at it, his sword connecting cleanly and putting a gauge in the armor where it hit.

The clashing of steel was what alerted Kanix to Mitsuo's struggle against the bodyguard, and she'd intervene momentarily. Her feet silently carried her toward the offender and the defender, reaching out and aiming to place her hand on Mitsuo's arm closest to her. "Mitsuo, let your Savage Rage show," she whispered to him, her eyes taking on a glow effect with the emeralds of the skull. What Mitsuo would feel is a power surge through his body, Kanix's magic sparking at the reactors in his body to strengthen him. A second later and she would pull away from him, taking a step back to face the opponent currently obliterating them. She narrowed her eyes at him and pointed her staff in his general direction, "your pain is just now beginning." From the eye sockets of the skull, a black mass spilled out, trickling down its face as if it was crying.

That black mass hit the ground and it was crawl to the bodyguard and clamber up his armor and to his face. Where the man would bat at it, the mass would weave around him and suck up through his nose and ears. "And yeah... I'm fine," she lied, listening to the man squirming and writhing as the curse was place on him. Just have to keep myself from injuring them too much she thought to herself, lowering her staff as she did. A sudden pain enveloped her, causing her to collapse to the ground in agony, squeezing her eyes shift as her spell backfired. So, this is what pain felt like when she cast this spell on her opponents? How could she do such a thing? She'd let out groans and estranged noises from her throat, feeling as if her innards were being pulled out of her.

To her misled luck, she'd be incapacitated for a bit, curled on the ground, dealing with the same pain the bodyguard was. Only her was on a smaller scale than his, but it still felt like she was being tortured by the hounds of hell, themselves. Creatures just tearing at her innards and pulling them free of their place inside her, that was the agony she felt.

When Kanix touched him, he could feel his power increasing. He smiled a crooked half smile, his left sword being resheathed and his Blade of Atlas lifted above his head, power channeling through it. He pointed it slightly forward, the gravity increasing around the blade to become impossibly heavy, coming down on his opponent in both hands and cutting directly through his shield and armor, though mysteriously, not through his body. Mitsuo looked on in confusion as the blade slammed into the ground, gravity returning to normal as the armour and shield fell away from the man, lefting him in his undergarments. Mitsuo chuckled softly, the man's sword coming to bat his away. He moved in to strike again, another blow being blocked, the man impressive with his blade, and being much more careful now that Mitsuo had taken away his protection.

Mitsuo brought his blade into a high shot so that the man would bring his sword to block, his foot moving to crunch the weakened knee, the man collapsing to the ground, Mitsuo's foot then moving to smash his chest, breaking a couple of ribs from the impact. He was dazed, and Mitsuo brought his foot up one more time to give him a roundhouse kick to the side of the head, his steel foot connecting solidly as he was happy he couldn't feel the crunch of his skull. He fell over just in time for Mitsuo's steel armour to wear off, moving back to check on Kanix once more. "Kanix, are you sure you're okay?" He was keeping an ear out for any more potential threats, but at the moment his teammate seemed to be in trouble and was more important.

He had no idea what was wrong with her, not knowing if she had been hit or if it was something to do with her magic. He didn't know what to do, staying close by her to make sure that she wasn't going to fall unconscious or keel over dead. "I'm here for you if you need me." He hoped that they had a brief break in which to allow his comrade to recover...

Gritting her teeth, the woman struggled to her feet gripping her stomach with one arm and using the other to lift herself up. Mitsuo had, unfortunately, taken care of the bodyguard on his own, much to Kanix's own dismay of things. She had wanted to help out, but with the backfire of her spell, it hadn't done much good and letting her do so. Feeling useless at the moment, she'd merely nod her head toward her partner, not entirely denying she wasn't okay. Having him worry over her was the last thing that she wanted, though her magic was often tough on her. Again, she wiped away the blood from her nose, frustrated that her magic decided now was the time to stop cooperating. Later she would have to have a discussion with those damned spirits because it was clearly them who were doing it.

"I'm fine... that spell just backfired is all..." Kanix explained to Mitsuo once she was standing. "I guess the spirit that I get the ability from decided that I wasn't holding up my end of the bargain and did that to me. Sometimes, it happens; other times, I'm lucky to be able to cast a spell and get away with not holding up my side." There wasn't much else to say about her spells, other than that they could often be really cruel toward her. "I appreciate the offer, Mitsuo, but when it comes down to it, there's nothing that you can do to protect me from it..."

It was just something that she had to face, and unfortunately, their little conversation would come to an abrupt stop.

Kanix picked up the sound of more footsteps heading toward the little restaurant, already exhausted with them coming around. Perhaps, they would be easy people to deal with? Just more thugs and not that damned bodyguard they just dealt with. She'd listen intently though, frowning and waiting for the men to appear, so that they could beat their asses. Her head turned in the direction the footsteps were coming, anxiously awaiting them, but unable to see the thugs. What was it about these people? Why did they want to ruin the reputation of a quaint, little restaurant in Hargeon Town?

Kanix claimed that she was alright, Mitsuo not wanting to argue with her as she knew herself and her magic much better than she did. If she said she was fine he would try to stop worrying about her, which honestly meant he would be able to better forus on what he was doing. He could hear the metal footfalls once more, and knew that it meant there was another metal covered opponent coming at them. Mitsuo picked up the previous man's sword and ate it, attempting to intimidate the other man, but he didn't seem to flinch as he came at them. "Why are you helping this place? You're only going to get yourselves killed." Mitsuo kept the sword held tight in his hand and stood his ground.

"Why do you think it's alright to intimidate and destroy the business of an innocent man? We're here because we protect the innocent, and you are trying to destroy this man's life."
Mitsuo gritted his teeth and ran at the man, taking an overhead swing with his sword, which hit his shield as he came in and sliced Mitsuo's side, causing him to jump back and grab his side for a second. He took out one of his other swords, knowing that defense was imperative and sa that it had slipped his mind. As he rushed in he took another heavy swing at the shield, the second sword moving to block his opponent's attack. Breaking the shield was the best idea he could think of right now, his abilities not overly strong against armour, though steel weapons also did less damage to him in general.

He was getting a little nervous, these armored enemies were not easy to defeat and he had to wait to use his Steelbreaker ability again. He hoped Kanix had something up her sleeve, otherwise it wouldn't be a good day for either of them..

It sounded to her like Mitsuo wasn't having the best of luck with this armored man, and that it was taking a lot out of him. She felt bad about that, for at the time, she had still been resting, though ever alert to her surroundings. A grimace appeared on her lips as the sound of metal clashed with metal and rang annoyingly in the air. The noise of tearing flesh nearly made Kanix throw up and the strong metallic scent of blood wasn't helping either. Mitsuo had been injured, she figured out, and she narrowed her eyes in concentration, trying to get her enemy's location pinpointed. However, it proved to be slightly more difficult when the two of them were making a dance of their own. Eventually, her senses locked onto the bodyguard, the clang of sword's metal on defensive shield aiding her.

Mitsuo was a conductor of electricity, thanks to being the Metallic Dragon Slayer, but it was her only option right now. Kanix had to take that risk of possibly electrocuting her partner if she wanted to slip in a C rank's worth of damage. So, she called upon the spirit of the wolf as quickly as she could and darted around the bodyguard, so that she stood behind him. She'd tap him on the shoulder, grab his attention, and quickly backhand him with the horns of her staff. The man stumbled backward, toward Mitsuo, then lift up his shield as he caught his balance and swing his sword at her. Her mind quickly raced with all the calculations in her head as he swung that sword, then she disappeared from her place. Reappearing to his right, the shamaness flipped her staff around, so that the sharp end of it face him, and rammed it into his shield.

The man, confused by how she had moved so quickly, didn't catch on until he felt the force of the staff against his dented protection. When he looked, Kanix was not there anymore, but instead, she was now in front of him, greeting his shield with another hit. Thereafter, she looked at him with her hazed eyes, and she twisted the weapon, so that the horns face him again. From the tips, a lightning bolt blasted out, striking against the armor of the man and coursing over its entirety. She smirked at him, then tapped the temple of her head, and the man's actions halved themselves as an effect of her Soul Trapping ability.

He could feel the electricity from her attack, and as it jumped through their opponent is crackled against his skin, the fact that he was essentially a lightning rod pulling it through his opponent. It could be a gift or a curse, though in this case it certainly wasn't so bad. The enemy in front of him had his armour and shield super heated, knowing that it was now extremely weak as the integrity of the metal in it had been warped. He smirked as he brought his weapon to bare once more, taking it in both hands and slicing down the slowed and stunned man's chest and slicing deep into him, the man grunting in pain as Mitsuo spin his sword back around for another deep slice into his right shoulder, cutting deep as the sword dropped from the man's hand.

"You should have given up when you had the chance; it would have saved you a lot of pain and suffering." Mitsuo sheathed his sword and put his hands in front of himself, the man slowly picking up the sword in his off hand as he yelled out "God Slayer Art: Song of the Iron Maiden!" His hands enveloping themselves in rotating shards of steel as he drew his right hand back, driving the fist into the stomach of the man and tearing through the heated armour and flesh into him, causing massive damage. He twisted, the agony he imagined the man was suffering growing greater as he hoped that he would pass out from the pain. As he stood there with his man deep inside of the man's stomach he couldn't help but imagine this wasn't a wound that he would get back up from, hoping that he was wrong as he had no intention of killing anyone at any time. He looked as he fell down to his knees, taking the pommel of the sword and smashing it into the man's forehead and knocking him unconscious as he fell onto his face on the ground. "I hope he will be alright...that might have been a bit much." Mitsuo muttered under his breath, looking back towards the path towards the restaurant that they were guarding. They hadn't seemed to be slowing down, and Mitsuo had a strong feeling that these men weren't the worst of their troubles, which made him quite nervous...

She felt injured, but she wasn't injured; it was the man that Mitsuo was attacking that she could feel the pain from. Oh, the agony of it. How she pitied the man whose life was slowly draining from him, despite the knockout. Kanix shook her head and looked away from the fell bodyguard, cleared her throat, and focused on everyone else around her. Now was not the time to be fretting over deaths, not when this bodyguard was their enemy and she shouldn't care.

Luckily, the pounding footsteps of those thugs filled her ears and she rather focused on that than anything else. Tapping her staff on the ground, she called out, "Call of the Wild: A Door To Hell!" So as she said this, an ancient, crypt-like door rose from the ground. It creaked open and a blaze of fire rushed out, but this fire was only cosmetic and did no damage to anything. From those doors would come a black creature, beady eyes so red they bore into the souls of those it looks at. This creature let out a horrifying screech and launched itself at the nearest thug that came running to them. Tackling the thug to the ground.

Kanix sat back and listened as her little "pet" slashed and parried the attacks of the thug, but she was soon apprehended by another thug. The thug had her hands behind her back and kicked her staff away, leaving her powerless for the time being. She gritted her teeth, slammed her foot into his, then as he bent down to grab his foot, whacked the back of her head in his. He stepped back and grabbed his broken nose, and Kanix rushed away from him, grabbing her staff in the process.

As she twisted around to face her attack, she pointed her staff at him and shouted, "Call of Wild: Guardian of Nature!" A bright light shot in front of her and formed a stag, whose antlers were lowered as it charged and impaled the thug. The thug stabbed at the stag, but the knife only went through the water body of the creature and did no damage. It wouldn't take physical damage to get rid of her stag, but rather the means of magic to kill it off.

There's no rest for the wicked, or so the saying went. Mitsuo saw them coming as the previous bodyguard laid dying on the ground. He didn't like killing, and never tried to do so, but there were times that it was simply an unfortunate side effect of having magic like his. He watched as Kanix took on two of them, Mitsuo rushing to intercept the other two. He was facing another of the armoured guys and another one armed with a simple weapon, Mitsuo smirking as he saw the weaker one. At least he would have someone else to beat on as well. He wanted to activate his armour again but he knew he'd have to wait a little while, pulling out his second sword and slashing with the larger of the two swords while the first came up to block the opponent's weapons. He was used to fighting without magic, weapons being more of his specialty anyway. As he spun, slashing out with his right hand from right to left, his left hand coming to a hanging block over his right shoulder, he blocked an incoming blade that was attempting to taken he opening left by the first blow. He had done this a hundred times, it was poetry in motion. Every attack is also a block. The right sword tore through the weaker man's shoulder, opening it up and causing him to wince in pain. Mitsuo would smirk and bring his foot to sweep his legs, causing him to fall as the second man once again brought a blow in to his body, Mitsuo dropping one of his guards to his hip in order to block the blade.

He would run up to the man on the ground, smashing his face with his foot before stabbing into the shoulder that had been attacked once more. he would bring the other sword to a slash into his other shoulder, trying to make it so that he couldn't use his arms. As he did so he felt the feeling of steel smashing into him as the bodyguard slammed him with his shield, sending Mitsuo flying to the side. The bodyguard helped his fallen comrade up as Mitsuo made his way back to his feet, gritting his teeth and rushing back in with a massive kick to the shield, sending the man flying as well. The longer they fought these guys, the more likely it was that Mitsuo would make more mistakes like the one he had made, and he knew that they could eventually be fatal and not just a man knocking him down.

As the thug fought off the stag, the woman turned back to the other thug that had tried capturing her. With her staff, she slammed it into his gut, knocking him backward, until she had cornered her against the wall. There, she took the skull of the staff and hit him over the head with it, careful to avoid getting him hooked on the horns. She maneuvered away from his attack as he thrust out his knife to stab her in the stomach, and whacked him with her staff again. Kanix danced around him once more as he lurched forward for another strike, then smacked him on the back of his head with the staff. A smile was brought to her face as the sickening sound of the bone hitting against bone rang in her ears. The thug's blade nearly scraped her side as she whirled around him, lifted her staff, and gutted him with the horns.

Blood trickled down her side, but it was nothing to worry about, as it was just a flesh wound and nothing more. She pulled her staff free from the man's stomach, then twirled around stylistically to pin his arm against the wall. Staff embedded in the wood of the restaurant, her eyes narrowed and she let go of the stuck weapon. Without her staff, she couldn't use her magic, so she took to the only way that she knew how to get away. As the man reached toward her with his knife, she grabbed hold of his arm and twisted it, forcing the direction of the knife to change. With this knife now facing toward the man, she regretfully stabbed it into the forehead of the man, killing him. Kanix took a step back, wide-eyed at what she had done, and in that moment, her own gut wrenched at the feeling.

The shamaness let out a pained yelp, like that of a trapped fox, and a pulsating feeling surrounded her. Hunkered over, the woman tried to regain her stature and grabbed her staff from the wall, ripping it free. As the limp thug fell to the ground, she turned away from it and faced the guardian of nature still fending off the other thug. She stood back as the stag bent its head down and rammed the thug, pushing him backward and pinning him as well. It jumped backward, away from the dagger that the thug had, though the weapon would only run through its watered body. One of its limbs shifted form as it reared to its hind legs, turning into a whip that wrapped around the neck of the thug. Pulling at the opponent, the stag threw the man across the way, and the thug's body hit the wall of the restaurant, knocking him out.

It wouldn't be the final thug that they would look to, but it would the bodyguard that Kanix and the stag rushed at. Her demon, who had been alongside her, rushed at the thug as well, and together the stag and demon worked. The stag rammed its hardened horns into shield, but was pushed back by the force at which the shield had. Where the demon focused on the armor of the bodyguard and clawed at it, gauging streaks into the tough metal. They twisted and turned around the bodyguard, keeping him preoccupied, but attacking what guarded his body. Kanix's monsters bashed heads into steel, quickly wearing away the strength of the armor and the shield. With the stag taking down the shield, and the demon stabbing, clawing, and tearing at the armor, it wouldn't be long before he was taken down.

Soon, the shield was down, clattering from the man's hands to the ground, where Kanix kicked it away. Now, all that was left was taking down the armor that protected the bodyguard's body, and then the guard, himself. This time, Kanix would join in, she battered the man over his helmet, denting the mental with the ram's skull. Despite how strong it looked, the metal wasn't all that thick, and even the horns went smoothly through it. Enough so, that it pierced the skin of the bodyguard before Kanix ripped it out and attacked from another angle. Her demon launched itself at the bodyguard and dug its claws into the metal, tearing away another gauge. She had to pull back, however, as she was beginning to run out of the strength that she needed to fight back.

It was hard not to be impressed by the blind girl who he was fighting beside. As Mitsuo's blade came back to bare against the two remaining people he smirked and spun on his heel, slicing with both of his blades through the one thug, dropping him to the ground, the more armored man bringing his arm up to block the blow as the shield had been dropped. Mitsuo's blades bit into his armour, drawing blood from the arm of the man as they did and it caused him to smirk; they were gaining ground finally. As he quickly resheathed his one sword, the other coming up to block a wild swing towards Kanix, who had done him the most damage, he would then point his arm towards the man and yell out "Lance of Haphaestus!" As a long spike would pierce through his right shoulder, causing the man to cry out in pain. Mitsuo pulled the lance up slightly before it disappeared just to make sure that it caused a little more pain.

The man would then turn his attention towards Mitsuo, his left hand coming in to punch Mitsuo in the ribs before his right came at him with the sword, moving notably weaker after the blow. He did not see the punch coming and as such it was able to connect, but he was able to see the swing with the sword and after wincing slightly he brought his sword to block. As he blocked the sword's swing on the inside arch he used the momentum of the swing to follow the blade of the man's sword directly into his shoulder, severing the arm and down into his chest as he would fall over into a bloody mess of a man, Mitsuo pulling the sword free and cleaning it off a bit before taking the man's sword and eating it, regaining a small amount of his magic power in doing so. "These guys just don't quit do they?" he would say to Kanix as he began to eat the metal shield as well, doing as much as he could to make sure that he was prepared for another wave to hit if it did, which he was sure wouldn't be far off.

"Well, something is making them really want this restaurant shut down, and honestly, I'm quite curious to know," Kanix responded to Mitsuo. A smile was on her lips at the mentioning, but it wasn't like they were going to be able to figure such a thing out. They were constantly being attacked from all sides, and the bodyguard always happened to be the strongest of them. For some odd reason, that bodyguard was always with the thugs, so it was a lot harder for them to battle. This thought sparked an idea in her head, just as three thugs came out from behind the building to charge them. Not far behind them was a bodyguard, lugging his heavy shield and weapon, covered in that difficult armor to break. Her blind eyes darted between the trio of thugs, ears listening to their footsteps as they rounded closer to them.

In that moment, her staff lifted and blocked the pathway of the demon stationed on her left, then guided it toward one of the thugs. It flipped sides the moment the demon charged at one of the thugs, and guided the stag stationed on her right to another of the thugs. The beast charged her opponents, and she run at the lumbering guard behind them, leaving the third thug open for Mitsuo. Her "pet" demon slashed at the chest of its opponent, its claws raking through the cloth and against the skin. Blood splattered to the ground as the man cried out in pain, and in retaliation, rammed his dagger into the stomach of the spirit. However, the weapon merely went through the demon's body, and it went wild over the man discovering his weakness against him. Thus, a frenzy started with the creature; its claws reaching out to rip and tear at the skin as quickly as it could.

One strike would hit, then the thug would parry the next attack of the demon, though he was quickly being pushed into a corner. Another blow to the thugs face, blood splattering against the wall of the restaurant's alleyway, hindering the thug useless. Dagger gone, the demon let out a maniacal chuckle, and with a final raise of its claws, brought them down upon the man. The thug cried out in pain as the talons tore through his chest, his eyes clouded over, he coughed up blood as blood spilled from his wound, fell to his knees, and collapsed to the ground. With his opponent gone, the demon would look for the next thing to do, but had no time to as the gate to hell rose back up. Creaking, the door swung open and a sucking wind force pulled at the demon, dragging it back into the fiery depths. Now, the focus was on the stag, who fought a ragged-looking, but rather strong woman for a thug.

Her "pet" stag lowered its head down, enough that its watery antlers were pointed toward the stomach of the womanly thug. It scratched its hoof against the ground, then charged at the armed lady, ramming its horns into her upper body. With its victim strung on its antlers, the beats lifted its head up, then wildly shook its head, until she flung off. The woman's body hit against the wall of the restaurant, slumping to the ground as she regained her mobility. However, the stag was on top of her now, lowering its head once again and ramming into her, though missing her by an inch. She stood to her feet and with her small knife, lashed at the beast, only to have the weapon go through the watery body. A frown appeared on her face, and the deer turned around, hardened its antlers and impaled her once more.

It tore its antlers from her body, and instead of striking with its antlers again, it reared to its hind legs. Mortified by the elemental creature, the woman stared up at its hooves, then braced for impact as they came down. She let out a cry of pain as the hardened hooves smashed against her arm and broke it, leaving her with only her other. With her one good arm, her knife came swinging upward into the chest of the stag, hoping that it would do some damage. Like last time, however, the weapon only slid through the animal, and the beast opened its mouth and bit down on her. Another scream of pain as the stag battered its hooves against her a final time, and fell unconscious to the ground. The stag, as its body lowered to the ground and its hooves touched, dispersed into a puddle of water.

Kanix was left running toward the guard, letting out a battle cry as she lifted her staff and aimed toward his shield. A reverberating sound rung out as the two items connected, a dent appearing where the staff had struck. She swung her staff toward it again, but missed as the man pulled his shield away and countered her attack with his sword. With the end of her staff, she blocked his attack, pulling the sword free of his hand and knocking it away. Determined to quickly take the man down, she flipped her staff around, so that the sharp edge faced toward her opponent. Afterward, she rammed it forward, cutting through the armor he wore and even spilling a bit of blood from the skin it touched. The woman smirked at him, then yanked her weapon free and bashed the top end of her staff into the shield again.

Post by Mitsuo 29th March 2016, 4:04 am

Every slash, every spell, every stab, every kick and punch, each and every blow that they were landing was a leather attack, something that Mitsuo generally tried not to think of. His aderaline was raised and his heart racing constantly as he moved on instinct at this point. He couldn't help but think of the consiquences of his actions, something that he always tried to suppress. He knew that there was always a chance that he would end the life of someone who was assulting himself or his friends, but he tried very hard not to think of what that person was leaving behind. He remembered when he was a child and his mother was murdered before his eyes by a dark wizard because she wouldn't pass on her knowledge on ancient and forgotten knowledges, that person having taken away more than just another life, but a beloved wife and mother, scaring the child who had witnessed the act. With every life he took he knew that there was the chance that he was taking somebodys parent, their spouce, their brother or sister, son or daughter. He knew that he was affecting much more than just the life that he took, and there was only one thing that made it possible to carry that weight on his shoulders. He had to shut down...

His mind would disconnect from reality, the gravity of the situation lifting from his shoulders and his focus zeroing in on one thing, the survival of himself and his partner. He watched as she easily took down two of the thugs leaving him to focus on the third, the poor unfortunate victim that would be left to the disassociated blade of a man trained to kill with peek efficiency. His motions were fluid and natural, as though his blades were simply an extention of his arms. The first blade would quickly move to parry the thug's weapon, easily knocking it from his grip with one flick of the wrist. The thug couldn't possibly stand up to the superior swordsman. Mitsuo's second blade would move in for a  thrust, the tip of the blade sliding through his ribs and piercing his lung, making it increasingly difficult for him to breathe. Blood was flooding into the man's lungs and throat as he coughed up blood, Mitsuo's Blade of Atlas coming up once more towards the man's neck in a horizontal sweep, the blade removing head from shoulders as it rolled freely towards the ground. He didn't dwell on what had just happened, instead his focus shifting towards the bodyguard.

They were heavily armoured, shields able to be brought to bare in order to block any blow from in front or potentially the side. With the guard's attention focused on Kanix, it gave Mitsuo a golden opportunity to take advantage of the fact that a shield can only block from the front, and no matter what there were places on the body that were impossible to cover. He saw the opening between the back and lower body armour, these men impressively covered, though there were always cracks, simple places that a blade could make their way. The blade found its mark, sliding into the man's hip as he heard a muffled grunt beneath the man's helmet. His sword had already dropped from Kanix's assault and Mitsuo would kick it away, making it so that the only offensive options the man would have would be useless as attacks. Mitsuo's second blade would stab into the back of his knee, another point that was impossible to cover with armour. He would begin to buckle, Mitsuo's foot connecting with the back of the other knee in order to bring him down to his knees on the ground in front of the two of them. His expression was blank, his mind on autopilot at this point.

He brought the blade to the man's neck, quickly sheathing the other blade and pulling his opponent's helmet off with his free hand. "Why are you attacking this place?" His blade was at the man's throat, he imagined that Kanix would end the man but he figured trying to get some answers wasn't a terrible idea before they finished him off. Mitsuo looked towards her, waiting to see how she would proceed instead of acting on the kill shot he had. The man was defenseless at this point, no blade and his legs useless, making it so he would be unable to leave. "Why won't you leave us alone?" He was coming back to reality, the weight of the situation setting in once again. It was more difficult for him to control the pain when he wasn't thick in the heat of battle. He wouldn't kill this man if he could help it, not wanting to sink down to the level of the dark mages who had murdered his mother when she had been defenseless in front of her child...

In the heat of battle, Kanix was a leader, not a follower, and the inner demon activated in her when she heard Mitsuo fell the bodyguard. He started chatting to the ill begotten man, and she scoffed at the legal mage's action of trying to get information out of the thug. These men had no hope in her eyes, so she didn't understand why Mitsuo was trying his damned hardest to keep himself from killing the guy. Kanix frowned at her partner, her opalescent, blue eyes staring at him with their cloudy nature before she looked away from the younger mage. She expertly flipped her staff aruond, with the horned skull facing upward, blood dried and trickling down from the caked horns of the ram. "You're not going to get an answer out of him, Mitsuo, why are you trying so hard to?" the woman seemingly mocked the other Fairy Tail mage. Quietly, the blind woman sauntered over to the captured victim, stood solemnly behind him, sightless orbs gazing down, then flicked her staff.

The sickening sound of blood splattering on the cement resounded into the air, the man's head lolling forward, against Mitsuo's blade as red liquid oozed from his mouth. Placing a foot against the dead man's back, she jerked her staff with both hands, causing more blood to splatter onto the ground as well as freeing her staff. Kanix set her staff down, sniffed the blood on the weapon and silently licked it off, enjoying the taste of her victim's life blood before grinning at Mitsuo. How beautiful was it to her to take the life of a man, who wasn't so innocent as he was made out to be, she liked the thought of that. "Man up and kill a bit, Mitsuo; life isn't fair! And when life isn't fair, you give it a dose of its own lethal medicine!" The dark shamaness cackled and turned away from him, walking over to the steps of the restaurant and hopping up onto the railing. She ran a hand through her hair, raking her fingers through the silken weave, and stared quietly at Mitsuo after her little outburst.

In all of her life, she would never have thought Mitsuo had the capability of being able to kill, not with all that good mage mumbo jumbo. She sat Indian-styled on the railing, with her staff propped up against the wall to her side, and she smiled again at Mitsuo. "I didn't believe you to be one of killing intent, let alone kill them so mercilessly; I would've taken you for a dark mage, like I had been." The woman giggled mischievously and tapped one of her feet against the wooden railing, as if she found it all entertaining to her. "I doubt anymore of these thugs will be coming around, especially with the bloodbath we created, so why don't we just sit here and relax?" Kanix fell silent and watched her partner, curious to know how he would react to her sudden change in personality from sweet to mildly psychotic. "So, have you been to this restaurant to eat before or is right now your first time even coming close to this restaurant?" she inquired quickly. She didn't want to seem to him like she had gone completely insane, as that wasn't the truth and wouldn't ever be. It was just that living as a dark mage for so long had a great impact on her, and dropping habits was a lot harder than it seemed. Nor did she really want to deter Mitsuo from ever doing a job with her again, but even so, his own reaction was mildly surprising to her.
