    Job Form:

Saika ripped the job request off the board, then brought it over to Rin, who awaited the news nearby. Saika read it over quickly, then handed it over. "Apparently a wizard has been cursing crops in this... This... Beanstalk Village is what is said here," she explained, though she was completely ignored by Rin, who was busily reading things over. Saika waited for a moment, then said, "So, Rin dear? Do you want to take it?" The kuro-haired girl stood, hands-on her hips and stared at her younger sister.

Rin Kagamine, the brains of the duo slowly nodded, then handed the sheet back to Saika. Without needing to talk, the siblings exited the guild hall of Sleeping Forest and transformed, Wings sprouting out of their backs. Saika's usual shadow form cast an eerie presence, red eyes like great gaping holes in her head. Her wings shimmered, not quite there, made completely of shadow. Rin, on the other hand, didn't undergo as much of a transformation. Great white feathered wings extended from her shoulder blades, curving downwards in their folded position. She radiated a calm, stern feeling overall, though her blazing red eyes gave her a scary look.

With a nod at each other, the queer pair took off, one shadow and one light flying over the sea, and away from Midoriko Province. After about an hour of flight, with the occasional rest stop, the famous beanstalk appeared in the distance. The siblings would alight in a nearby field, then walk into the village. "Hello, everybody!" Saika called out as they entered, having shifted out of her demonic form already. To her confusion, no one really seemed to be around. Finally, a shriveled old woman limped out of a hut, holding a cane.

    "Are you the hired mages?"
she croaked, making her way over. As the two replied affirmatively, she nodded, then explained the job. "So, please just stop the mage behind this curse, we would be in your debt," she finished. Then, she limped back into the hut, leaving Saika and Rin to muse over this situation. Well, actually, it was more like Rin was musing over the situation. Though Saika was older, she preferred not to do so much thinking. Her battles were completely driven by her love, and a need to protect. Rin was a strategist, however, moving into battle with a clear head and clear plan in mind. It made the two a rather formidable pair.

The two siblings slowly set off through the fields, looking about. Suddenly, Saika's eyes flared a dark red, and her motherly attitude seemed to disappear. "Demonsss..." she hissed, staring at one of the blackened, shriveled plants. "Plant demonsss... They're feeding off the plants in this field, someone with powerful magic brought them here..." She suddenly whirled around to face Rin, her eyes fading back to a sweet chocolate brown. "Yup, Rin-chan, plant demons have been brought here by someone, and they've been feeding off of the plants. Not good, not good at all."

Rin frowned thoughtfully, gazing down at bhe dark patches. If there were demons, the two should be excellent against them. Using angelic magic, Rin could easily managed to best them, and Saika, using demonic magic as well would be an excellent match. It should be a fairly easy job for them after all, it seemed. Turning to face her sister, Rin's eyes suddenly flared a bright shade of red, as blades came out of her wrists. They stopped after they were each around a foot long, shining with a divine aura.

Saika did likewise, eyes flaring a deep, dangerous red. She curled one hand into a fist, placing it on her open left hand. Soon, she was pulling out a long, curved katana, her typical weapon. As it left her hand, it shimmered with a dark, sinister aura that matched the plants' condition. "Well, this will definitely be an easy accomplishment," she said in a tight voice, and if one looked closer, they'd see the edge of a sinister smile crawling up her face, and a crazed blissful look fill her eyes. Though you couldn't tell by her usual personality, the one she put on for most people, Saika was extremely sadistic. Everyone could potentially harm Rin, so she would rip and tear through absolutely everything in her way, enjoying it all.

Rin looked over at her sister and let loose a sigh that made her sound much older than she really was. Though she pretended not to notice, she knew perfectly well of Saika's sadism. However, if the older girl knew that she knew, Saika would grow despondent and tired, unwilling to do anything. That wouldn't be very good for their little duo, so Rin decided to keep it to herself. Besides, her magic gave her a slight edge over Saika's and they knew each other too well for one to really defeat the other.

Suddenly, the corn plant nearby shifted, and seemed to stretch and yawn, almost. Familiar red eyes of a demon began to show through, and suddenly, the creature burst upwards. A yell came from the nearby Saika, who immediately slashed her sword in that direction, a furious look in her eyes. Yes... This was it. Even if it wasn't something that could spill that beautiful crimson blood, it was destructible. Perfect. After all, it was a potential threat to her dear Rin, was it not? She simply couldn't let it live.

    "Ve-ry so-rry little siblings~"
the now crazed Saika said in a singsong voice, "but I am afraid you must... DIE!" A flash of red glow swished on by, the silvery katana slicing into the thick stalk. "Die, die, die, die, die, die, die, die, die, DIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIE!!!!!" she barely hissed. A sadistic grin formed upon her face, the girl slashing this demon up into tiny little pieces before it could even react. A loud, triumphant laugh echoed over the village, causing a chill to go up the residents' backs. For, a demon had entered their territory, larger than these plant ones.

On Rin's side, things were a little calmer. Okay, let's be honest here, A LOT calmer. The logical mage stepped and slashed with astonishing precision, each movement smooth and powerful. Her wrist blades parried with the corn demon's leaves perfectly. Though it seemed to be trying to act pretty, it couldn't keep up the act with the angelic girl's blazing eyes staring deep into his, and that powerful flare of angelic energy that would almost overwhelm it. After all, Rin's magic had a definitive edge over demons.

The corn demon finally fell after a strategic sword pattern that resulted in a neat cross over the top of the ear. Twin silver blades, radiating a pale red light sliced it neatly into four pieces. As she knew other demons must be watching, the girl then calmly picked up a chunk of the corner, scraped the darkened kernels into her palm with a blade, and gently scooped it into her mouth. She chewed contentedly, then stared out at the plants in the field. This vas what she was, and she was their enemy. They would fight her at their own risk. Finishing the last few kernels, she tossed the shriveled cob out into the field before waiting for the next demon to appear. It really didn't taste all too bad... Just a little on the bland side.

After finishing up the first two demons, the field seemed to suddenly awaken. Knowing full well that they did best when fighting together, the girls leapt to move closer to each other, slashing their blades at any demon that came near.  Then came the big attack, countless corn demons shooting at them from all sides. Words of vanity, appearance, wish for style, greed, lust, came pouring out their mouths like nightmarish shadow creatures that had suddenly emerged. Saika’s own little inner voice fit right in, chiming in with the terrible little earworms the plant demons emanated. However, she continued to fight them, as if in some demented little cannibalistic cycle. If any villagers saw, they felt the image of the dark shadow outside their homes would be forever seared into their minds. Red eyes glowing up in greed, insanity, lusts, and just plain terrible love, love in its darkest and most twisted form.

As it slashed, spun, and “rained curses on the land” as some would later say in hushed voices, it suddenly let out a furious flare of sword slashing, crimson waves of wind exploding against the demons, blowing them away for a brief second. In this amount of time, a beautiful glow lit up the at first barely-noticed girl, this a lovely, rose-like shade of red. Blue slowly climbed up this figure, revealing a kind but stern sort of light. Long silver blades whirled around her, driving off the darkness of all the demons, including the one beside her. It seemed that every shadow faded from her, and whenever a drop of that holy blood was spilt, people would gasp and weep for her, hoping that she would stay alive.

The darkness of that terrible, oppressive crimson and the soft rosy glow was a perfect pair, red-rimmed blades flying through the demons. This was a dance, a dance that was beautiful, yet terrible. A dance that told a story of death, violence, sadness, then birth, peace, satisfaction.  It was nothing like any of the residents of Beanstalk Village had ever seen before. It was an odd experience for them , of course, for whoever sees an angel and a demon fighting together, side by side? Both were breathing hard, tired from this constant onslaught, but neither gave up, somehow finding the strength to slice on, blades even crossing amongst themselves occasionally, for it is hard not to wish to turn against one who was designed to oppose you. But they managed it. This ongoing dance of contrasts.

Deep within the darkness of Saika's mind, she was happy. Even though it was such a gruesome thought that one could be happy at a time like this, happy she was. Here she stood, proudly, fighting for Rin, fighting for her little sister! What other medal of honor could she wear so proudly? Though the dress was ripped and ragged, and her hair scorched and windswept, Saika still stared so endearingly and shamelessly at Rin a sadistic grin on her face. It was what she tried not to do, tried not to reveal to the younger girl her true personality. However, like many people in love, she had not considered how clever Rin was and of course would never, ever suspect that the silent girl had known since she was ten.

Rin stood quietly, slowly taking in and releasing breaths. Her uniform was nearly spotless, only a little bit of demon blood splattered on it. She would glance only once back at Saika, a pure look of disgust and contempt to those who could read it, and slash a blade through a cornstalk as if it were Saika. The demonic girl would stare in slight surprise, shocked that her sister could be so violent and expressive sometimes, then quickly waved it off as some sort of trick of the light. However, Rin, the indifferent, expressionless girl detested Saika. In fact, her older sister would likely be dead by now if she didn't prove herself useful every here and there. Rin certainly had the ability to stab her sister through the heart, buy her blades would then disappear. Yet another thing she hated. How they were so utterly connected in so many ways, so that everything that happened to one of them would happen to the other as well. It was torturous.

As there came a lull in the battle, Rin and Saika slowly inserted their blades back into their bodies. As the silvery surfaces faded from sight, the blood would drip off, staining their hands red and vivid. Saika grinned, gazing at her hand, dripping with crimson, while Rin would tilt her hand downwards and let the liquid fall into the ground. Occasionally, a blade would shoot out again, to quickly launch a counterattack to a smaller monster, but nothing big. One of order, one of chaos. One who loved, and one who hated. How did this fit together? This was a broken relationship. A shattered, melted relationship.

During this lull, Saika sighed, flopping onto the ground as her sadistic smile wore off. The only thing unusual now about this site was her ripped up clothes and the fact that she was sitting on a field, slick with demon blood. She touched a bloodied finger to her lip, breathing in the scent and taste. With a sigh of contentment as the energy from the battle slowly left her, she smiled cheerily, turning to Rin. "Now, Rin-chan! That was a fun fight, wasn't it?" Though her face was bloodstains, Saika was much too elated to care if her sister saw. She'd mostly given up by this point, hiding her dark side from Rin.

Rin was calmly cleaning the blood from her once pristine uniform, frowning with a slightly disappointed expression on her pale face as she ended up using a glowing blade to slice off a portion of the skirt. It would never come out, demon blood, she knew that much. She'd fought enough to know by now. In fact, she was wondering if she should learn some special spell to clean things up at the moment. Completely ignoring her older sister, she would casually stick an arm out to the side, a silver blade shooting out from it impaling a tomato multiple times until it was nothing but a splotch if tomato juice.

"Saika. Why did you do it?"
The sudden, seemingly random question burst from the angelic mage's mouth, and Saika's heart seemed to skip a beat as her younger sister suddenly turned and glared coldly at her with those glowing red eyes. A single blade, in the unusual form of a katana for Rin was held at Saika's throat. From Rin's gaze, the demonic girl knew that something had been bothering Rin, and dread filled her as she wondered if it had been the battle and how she hadn't been as careful with hiding it as always.

"Why, Saika? Why did you kill them? All of them? Every single one of them?!?!" Now, Rin was shouting, spittle flying from her mouth as her small body shuddered with silent sobs. Though her eyes were dry, unusual amounts of sadness were shown within them. Saika's eyes widened as she suddenly realized what Rin could be talking about. "W-what do you mean, Rin-chan? He-hey, how about you move that sword away from my neck...yeah, that's be sorta nice, right? Hey, Rin-chan, right?" For once, it was Saika who stared up at Rin while Rin stared down. And Saika had a dreadful feeling about this she couldn't shake off.

Rin yanked her older sister even higher up, eyes a red even deeper than Saika had ever expected to see on her sister. With a small start of anger, her eyes flared up an equally deep and dangerous red. After all she had done for Rin! Getting rid of those pesky boys, even! How selfish could her sister get? Ready for a fight if one started, Saika skillfully let a glowing red blade poke out from her neck, right on top of Rin’s fingers. The angelic mage would respond by allowing an equally red and glowing blade to spring from her knuckes, intercepting the path of Saika’s. Both had natural control over their weapons, and could operate them with absolute perfection. If they were to fight, things would likely come to a draw, due to how both were equally skilled and their magic rendered them almost incapable of hurting each other.

A single drop of sweat trickled down Saika’s face as she stared up at her sister. Then, with a quick, deft and decisive move, curved blades suddenly erupted from all over the dark-haired girl, curving down so all pointed at Rin. Shadows erupted all around the girl, until she was all shadow, blade, and eerie red eyes. Unaffected by this obvious display of power, Feathered wings erupted from Rin’s back as she stared down coldly, blades popping out all over her body as well, then weaving together into some sort of shield. The sisters would stare each other down in this position, terrible red gaze into terrible red gaze. They would seem to be daring one to move first, and someone likely would have if not for the eruption of tomato plants all around them. At first, both tried to fight only by letting blades shoot out, impaling a few, but it became obvious that that tactic wasn’t going to work. With a reluctant glare, Rin released Saika’s collar, leaping into the battle with a frenzy of precise sword cuts.

The demon blood exploding around them only seemed to make the mood even worse, and the demons’ terrible trash talking only seemed insignificant and tinny compared to the silent battle of glares and wills between angel and demon. It was obvious to anyone that observed that the flying tomato demons were not the biggest of concerns right now. There was a battle going on here, one that was deeper than just two siblings with a disagreement. Much deeper.

As they fought, suddenly, a group of broccoli sprang from the ground. Terrifying leafy arms would strike at the girls, forcing them apart. Forced to each fight with each other for the while, each would spring to a broccoli plant, moving quickly to confuse them and to keep them dizzy. As they did their best to escape the grasps of the large green demons, they realized that these demons were much faster and much more difficult to defeat than the corn demons and tomato demons of before. Rin’s strategies had to adapt to much fast speeds, her mind memorizing the patterns of her enemies’ movements. Saika’s frenzied battle strategies had to morph slightly to go as fast as the frightening speed of these broccoli plants. The demonic girl couldn’t help but cringe as a green plant rammed roughly into her shoulder, causing her to fall, flustered.

An enraged look on the girl’s face, she would raise her katana, pointing it straight at the largest and most powerful of the broccoli demons. With a narrowing of glowing red eyes, she would set the sword aglow, and hurl it straight towards the monster. As it pierced the plant, it howled in a horrible scream of pain before its own eyes turned a shade of red to match Saika’s. Seeming flustered for a second, Saika would call the blade back into her body, and then pull it out again from her hand, leaping towards that one broccoli. It now moved under her control, smashing and roughly shoving the other demons out of the way. It would reach down, snatching Rin up, and giving them a better position to use their attacks.

Reaching into her side, Saika would produce a chain of throwing knives, and began hurling them at the demons. Rin did likewise, hers glowing a lighter shade of red than her sister’s. Protected by the demon infected with the power of Saika’s blade, the demons would be fairly easily defeated. When only one was left, the two would continue riding on the large broccoli, and Rin grudgingly healed Saika and herself, splitting the damage cost between them. As she inserted the tip of a blue-glowing blade into her own skin, she could feel energy returning and watched as scratches slowly healed themselves. Finally, the last unpossessed demon was dead, and Rin would stab a wrist blade repeatedly into the broccoli in strategic locations until it, too, crumbled to dust.

After the battle with the broccoli demons was completed, the two flopped onto the ground again, though blades stuck from their bodies from all sides as they did so. Their fight amongst themselves seemed to have been mostly forgotten, and Saika was relieved that this was so. She dearly loved her sister, and hated the fact that the younger girl might hate her. She would quickly remove the blood from her glistening katana, then stand again as she listened for any other demons. Rin, noticing her sister's movements stood as well, fluidly rising with wrist blades sliding out in pristine condition.

Just as they thought the battle might have finished, the sound of wind rushing over hills and plains filled their heads, and two heads would jerk immediately towards the sound. A mage swept forward, plant demons crowded all around him. He flaunted dark robes and a scary beard that stretched to his toes. Saika was seriously tempted to cut it off, and hoped she would have a chance. "In return," the mage began, clearing his throat and trying to look very evil, "for decimating my starting troops, I," he paused here for dramatic effect, "shall now decimate you!" Though his acting skills were less than impressive, he obviously had formidable power. The siblings would have to work even harder than normal to get rid of this pest.

Shadows would flash up around Saika, and wings erupted from Rin's back. The two would come in from different sides, ready to confuse the mage so the other could swoop right on in. However, he was ready, with an awkward trip over his own beard, suddenly, Saika found that her arm had suddenly turned soft and unmovable. Moving around caused it to flap annoyingly about. However, she would smile slightly, for this was a spell that impacted the bone and muscle on the inside of her body, and though he was strong, this mage wasn't too much stronger than her. Within a few seconds, the blade molecules within her had brought her arm back to normal condition. A dangerous look had appeared on her shadowy face now, and the dark mage would slowly begin backing away, cautious now.

From the other side, Rin charged forward, a wrist blade slicing down from behind him. Having been too distracted by Saika to notice the angelic girl, he spun around in alarm, leaving it open for Saika to attack. Flustered, he shot out another spell, suddenly causing complete darkness to shut down around the girls. Surprised, they would stumble blindly through the illusion while the dark mage would push them closer to each other with his remaining plant demons. Who had sent these little girls anyways? They were much too easy to defeat. It was almost insulting.

Instinct took over in the darkness, Saika's true skills coming out. Blades erupted from all over her body, sticking out everywhere. Anyone who got close would be stabbed, and she held her katana out at the ready. Closing her eyes, she would use her blades, spinning wildly in all directions to try and hit someone or something that would alert where she was. Though at first this was fruitless, and the wizard only laughed, he noticed with alarm that his laughter had drawn her in the right direction and that she raced at him with frightening speed. Barely moving out of the way of all those blades, the breeze he created guided the demonic girl in the right direction again. With skillful stabs of the blade, she would slowly begin to overwhelm him, the Wizard's mind whirring furiously to try and deflect this girl.

Meanwhile, Rin simply stood there in the darkness. Breathing in an out calmly, she would bring to mind the image if the battlefield with perfect photographic memory, noting where her location was. Then, like Saika had done, she caused blades to burst out around her as well, protecting her. Using her amazing memory and the sounds around her, she soon pinpointed the location of Saika and the wizard, and closed in from behind. Almost as skillfully as if in the light, Rin's wrist blades seemed to have planned exactly where to hit before, amazing concentration alerting her of even the slightest rustle the mage's robes made.

Finally, the somehow had him surrounded, and once more, he would cast an illusion. In this one, Rin would see Saika, dead and still, laying at her side. Saika would see Rin's body, limp and cold at her side. He hoped this would perplex them and cause them to react emotionally, which would affect them mentally and physically in return. However, this was not so. As both girls could still sense the others' blade's presence, and the fact that they heard three sets of breathing all signified that it was yet another illusion. Both girls ran him through at the same time, fury evident in each red gaze

By the time they were done, only one field had been ruined. The rest were perfect and pristine, as if there had been an invisible barrier around it. Anyways, through they were reluctant, the villagers cautiously gave the sisters' a good sum of jewel, and promised that they would be treated with kindness next time they passed through. Now, predict how long that will last with these girls?
