Rippling wind and flapping sails, as the ship known as the Black Sun soared through the skies above the kingdom known as Pergrande. Aboard this ship were three mages, Ardere, Davey the duck, and Aiyana. The sails strung high, flapping in the wind at an extremely high altitude. The engines roaring, bits of flames bursting from them. The fire mage found himself at the helm of the ship, considering it was his after all. He had paid good money for this ship, and he would be damned if it didn't come to good use. It actually provided for a quick entry into the country, which they would need to avoid border patrol. The kingdom of Pergrande was not the most fond of mages, zero percent of the population being mages after all. He had done his reading about this country, one of the few he had never dared to venture into. There had been no point, until he had been assigned this mission. Breaking into the prison known as Blacksteel Keep would not be an easy feat, but with the combined strength of the three mages it would be a feasible task. While he was the weakest in terms of power, he was far from weak in terms of skill. Their mission ahead would not be an easy one by any means, but they could accomplish their goal.

Tapping his pale fingers to a button, he activated the auto pilot on the ship. It was quite the advanced ship, and the auto pilot would guide them where they needed to go, in a single direction at least. Turning to face the other two mages, he tightened the leather Samurai armor he acquired from Midi. Taking a deep breath, he tied a red headband through his thick brown locks. It seemed he was prepared for battle, and there was no doubt in his mind that they would encounter a plethora of combat. The keep was a fortress, full of guards, Paladins training for years. Clarent was on his back, the red and white blade he had come into ownership of a while back. He had a feeling that he would need it, but he had no idea how strong the swordsmen in Pergrande were.

We're so dead. Davey the duck seemed to be quite the pessimist, as far as he could tell. Ignoring most of his negative comments, the three mages were not far from their destination, and as such were in the main cabin rather than resting up for the mission. We'll be fine. Blacksteel Keep is hellishly defended, so walking through the front door really isn't an option. We'll have to sneak in, the question is from where? His eyes peering down at the map of the keep on the table near where the other two mages were, he heard a sigh let out from the Duck's mouth. Ugh. It's obvious we'll have to sneak into the underground tunnels beneath the keep, they use it for escape routes during times of war. Nodding, it seemed they had the foundations of a plan. What do you think Aiyana? He seemed quite calm and laid back about the situation, but he wanted to hear what his mission partner thought. He did respect her after all.

It was strange being on an airship, having always ridden on flying creatures any time she had been in the skies. It was a different feel, more smooth unless they hit some turbulence; which even then was less taxing than clinging to the back of a winged creature to keep from falling to meet the ground for a grisly end. The airship was well made, and the name was nice. The “Black Sun” had such a nice ring to it when said aloud.

Their job was taking them into the kingdom of Pergrande, the kingdom of no mages. They even had a hatred of those with magic, their military devoted to anti-mage warfare. Ardere had asked her along, after she had healed up from their last job solving the werewolf curse. The two of them, along with the duck mage named Davey that she could never understand when he spoke, were going there to free a prisoner. A Raccoon from Seven, named Remy, had been captured after wandering too far from home. The animal was being held in Blacksteel Keep, one of the top prisons in the entire world. If they didn't free Remy by the time the sun came up he would be executed.

She heard Davey mention the word dead, the rest being unintelligable due to her being unable to understand his accent; if it could actually be called that. It was followed by the flame god slayer's words of encouragement before the two made plans, the bandaged girl simply listening to them until her opinion was asked. ”Well, going into the underground tunnels would be the safest way. I see nothing wrong with doing it this way. Especially if we do this at night when it would be harder for them to catch us before we get there.” She wasn't all too sure on her reasoning, having never really been trained for stealth and the like, but at least her opinion had been asked!

Ardere nodded, it seemed as if they were in agreement. The underground tunnels would be the best way to proceed, fortunately Davey knew enough about the place, and they had maps to help. Sounds good. We land in ten, so gather your things and meet me on the main deck when you're ready. He kept a kind and calm tone in his voice, prompting a groan from the duck. We're toast. Ignoring the pessimistic duck, the fire mage walked back into his quarters, which was attached to the Captain's room, or the control room. Looking into the mirror at himself, he saw a man in red armor, but was he prepared for this? The voice of his mentor resonated in the back of his head, reminding him of how much potential he had, but he was always cautious. Smirking a bit, he let out a heavy exhale. He had been training for this, the last mission before his next rank up exam, at least he hoped this would be enough. Tightening the red head band between his thick brown locks, he remembered all of the training he had done. Washing his face a bit, his piercing eyes from his reflection gazed back at him. It was time to do this. Several minutes later, he would be prepared to enter the chilling night.

Tightening the buckle on his glowing red longsword, Clarent that was on his back, he exited the room. Stopping a moment, he looked at the Moon Amulet around his neck, the one he received back in the Haunted Village. He had no idea what it did, but as soon as he stepped out into the night, it seemed to glow in the moon light. Quickly sliding it under his armor, he kept it on. Whatever it was, he was sure it would come in handy on this mission. Shaking his head, Ardere stepped onto the man deck as the ship slowly began to descend. They would reach their destination soon, but they would have to walk a bit as to not be spotted. Turning to Davey who was already waiting on the deck, he scoffed a bit. Don't worry Davey, we'll be fine. Scoffing again, the duck clutched his staff. I hope you're right boy. I hope you're right. The three mages were strong enough, of course he was right. But there was always the danger of failing on every mission. The god slayer noted to himself if he ever failed, it would not be away from home. Failing in some foreign land was out of the question. We ready then?

A nod of agreement from Ardere would be the end of the planning stage for their entry into the prison they were going to be sneaking into. The leader of the group, the flame god slayer whom had invited her out for this, told them to gather their things and to meet on the main deck once they were ready; as they would be landing in ten minutes. With that said a strange noise came from Davey, causing the young woman to jump slightly as the duck said something else the couldn't understand. Something about a roast? Not wanting to stay long enough to be brought into conversation with the impossible to understand mage, the bandaged woman walked off to the cabin she had claimed as hers for the duration of the job.

The room had the bare essentials to be called living quarters. A standard bed was in one corner of the room with a table, chair, and a mirror filling out the rest. Most of what she needed was on her person, the young woman running a hand through a length of her long hair. The mint green strands were well taken care of, and soft, as she looked into her own green eyes. The girl had come so far after running away from her parents to become a mage against their will. What would they say to her if she ever went back? They had yet to say anything to her as of yet, even to the letter she had sent after her very first job for a guild; back when she was in Lamia Scale. Fixing the hat atop her head, her glass charms clinking against each other as her hand and arm moved to do so. Making sure she also had her weapon attached properly to her side, Aiyana turned to look at her shadow. ”Well Memory, let's get this show on the road.”

With that said Aiyana Shuer stood up, the pair of jewels in her hair clicking together as they met each other in front of her, and began walking towards the main deck of the ship to meet with Ardere and the duck she swore had a speech impediment. The short girl was the last to arrive, just before the deadline for when they would be heading out. She heard the duck talk about fighting toys, but again she just ignored what the animal mage said as she decided to respond to Ard's simple question. ”Yeah, let's get this done quickly and save Remy.”

Engines humming, air rushing through the sails, as the Black Sun would descend into a slightly rocky area. After a few seconds, their landing in Pergrande would become official. The ship was secluded in rocks, Ardere hoping it would prevent it from being spotted by any Paladins. Walking over to the rope ladder, he would toss it over the side. Sliding down the ladder, he was the first one to step foot in the King of Pergrande. He had finally entered the country, one he had not been to before. The air was fresh, but he got a bit of an eerie feeling tonight. Peering over one of the rocks, he could see the Keep off in the distance. Alright, so let's get into the tunnels. The entrance is close by. Another groan was let out by the duck, as he climbed down the ladder. This thing is going to be spotted, you couldn't have picked a better place? Arching a brow at the duck, he let out a slight sigh. It's the best place we've got, so lead the way. Waiting for Aiyana to descend from the ship, he would allow the grumbling duck to lead them towards the tunnels.

Walking through the slightly rocky area, he could not smell or hear anyone near by. This country seemed like a very clean, and fancy place. From what he had heard, they were quite proper. He imagined with paladins and swords, their monarchy was perhaps quite strong. The terrain was rocky with a mix of plains, but with a country as large as this, the terrain was likely varied. The keep was a stronghold, it was almost in the middle of nowhere. It would only take a few minutes for them to reach their destination, secluded in rocks almost like a small cave. Anyone have a key? A large metal door was secluded in the rocks, but it would soon be blasted down by a purple blast from Davey's staff. There's yer key. Nodding at the duck's accomplishment, Ardere noted that even with his grumbling he was a useful member of the team. Assuming everyone was ready, their descent down into the tunnels would begin.

The landing of the ship was something on the tip of exhilarating; the Sabertooth girl growing excited and wide eyed as the descent happened. They landed in a slightly rocky area, the ship surrounded in the objects to hide the massive thing from view. The young woman followed the man and duck to the side of the ship; the flame god slayer tossing a rope ladder over the side so they could get down to the ground and begin the trek to the tunnels. Aiyana was the last one to slide down the ladder, hitting the ground after Davey had taken a few steps out of the way so she didn't fall into him as she came down.

Once she was situated, Davey the Duck began their trek towards the escape tunnels they were going to enter the prison from. They walked through the rocky land for a while, no other living beings in sight as they did so. ”It's too bad we won't be able to come back to this country easily after this. I'd love to one day be able to see if it's this beautiful all over the country.” The sentence was said aloud, not directed toward anyone really. The phrase was just said to keep her mind busy, not to get a response from anybody. It wasn't long before they reached a small cave, a large metal door being the entrance they had followed the duck to. Ardere asked if anyone had a key, the third mage in the group swiftly blowing the door open with a purple blast from the duck's staff. Something about pee was mentioned after he did so. Did he need a bathroom break already? Or was she just forever stuck with not knowing what was being said by the mage the entire job? With that said, the three descended into the tunnels that would eventually bring them inside the prison.

Ardere was surprised to find that the tunnels were not very dark, in fact they were lined with well lit torches, an oil in them that provided a light on the level of a lacrima. It was underground so it was obviously a bit dim, but he could see perfectly fine. From what he could tell they had about a half mile walk to reach the keep itself, and then another half mile walk through the dungeons. We've got a bit of a walk, but keep your voices down. A slight groan let out from the duck, grumble after grumble. Tilting his head, and shaking it, the fire mage lead the group down the stairs completely. They were in the tunnels, with a quite long path ahead of them. Light steps, and low breaths as they traversed the area. There would be no decorative art or pretty colors, as they were in the escape tunnels used by the officers in times of emergency. His pale hands by his side, the god slayer noted there was not much to look at down here. Just a long silent walk with a grumbling duck.

After a few more moments of walking, they would come across a steel door. Hmm. Davey shook his head and blasted purple energy at the door, but much to their dismay, the door was not moved. Ardere's eyes narrowed a bit, as he placed his hand on the door. Uh oh, looks like we ran into some anti magic metal a bit early. Kuso! Taking a deep breath, the sabertooth mage turned to the ground. Take a step back. Davey arching a brow. Now what can you do? Smiling a bit, the brown haired man cracked his knuckles. Staring down the door, he took a deep breath. Drawing the blade known as Clarent, a red blade, a longsword crafted probably in Bellum. He knew it was a legendary sword, he had heard the legends, but the origins of many legends were unclear. Lifting the blade up, he aimed towards the hinged of the door, and brought his blade down. Smashing right through the hinges with increased strength, perhaps even of a mage of the next rank, bit of metal burst and fell onto the ground. It was anti magic, but pure strength and a good blade could overcome such. (90% strength boost) The hinges burst to pieces, and he quickly caught the door, letting it down softly. But much to his discomfort, he saw enemies down the hall. Crap. The duck had seemed slightly impressed, but now he turned sour. Way to go.

The tunnels surprised the young woman as they began their walk through them. The tunnels were a bit dim compared to the sun itself, but were actually well lit for what they were; an underground escape tunnel. Due to the magic phobia of the kingdom the tunnels were lit not with lacrima, but with oil burning lamps. The shadows danced as flames moved about in their raging fury as they slowly ate at the oil beneath them. 'Memory probably feels like she's at home with all these shadows about.' The thought amused her as she was brought out of it by the taller mage's mentioning of their walk being a bit longer than they expected it to be. It would be easy for Aiyana to keep it down while they walked through the tunnels, but she wasn't too sure about the speech afflicted duck. He seemed to groan and gripe for what seemed like ages before they came to another door; one that had anti-magic properties.

The fix was easy, however, as Ardere simply used his enhanced physical strength to bust through the hinges with a single slash downward. Had they the time to talk, the bandaged mage may have said some kind of flirty words to him about it. Sadly that line of talking would have to wait, as they had bigger things to deal with. As the door was being gently set down, the three invaders were in the eyesight of two men that were looking right back at them. A single word left Ardere's mouth as the enemies began to move, the duck saying something about Vertigo. Either the duck wasn't liking the light or, per usual, she just was not understanding what the gods forsaken mage was actually saying! ”Well, looks like our stealthy entrance ends here.”

Ardere faced two enemies upon him, both were knights, of which he assumed were a part of the guard set up here at the Keep. Both of the men immediately drew their swords, one dashing towards the fire mage, the other towards Davey and Aiyana. Be careful. He expected a fight, but when Clarent and the man's swords clashed, the ground beneath them shook. Struggling to hold his grip, it was now obvious this was was just a strong, and by the looks of it just as fast as well. However there was one thing that separated the two, skill. Sliding to the right, he would slam his blade into the man's armor, sending him sliding across the floor. While minimal damage had been taken, the Paladin was now aware that he was dealing with an enemy stronger than the average invader. The two swordsman charging each other, their strikes would clash, then separate. Clashing again, their speed and strength was close to even, but what was unexpected was the aggressiveness from the Paladin. The god slayer was slammed against the wall, but strangely did not make a dent. Judging by the resonating of the sounds when he hit the wall, he could tell the entire place was lined with anti magic metal. This made things a bit easier.

Drawing his sword back, he would dive in for a jab, but the paladin side stepped him. What would have normally hit Ardere's side, was now being smacked by black flames. Exhaling a large amount of black flames in the shape of a cylinder, he let out his flame god's bellow. He made sure to roar down the side of the hall that wouldn't hit his partners, watching as the man was flung back like a useless rag doll. The walls lined with anti magic metal, were unharmed, rather deflected the black flames. Once the flames had cleared, he saw the man staggering to rise, appearing to be alright. Once he got a closer look, he could tell all he did was break the anti-magic armor, he had not actually severely harmed the man. Luckily with his armor out of the way, this fight would be easier to win. Dashing forward at the man while he was stumbling a bit, letting out a slight grunt, he was going in for the win this time.

    Post by Cr1tikal 9th September 2015, 1:05 am

"Great, we're all dead now!" That was what Davey actually said as a burst of magic would launch at the knight coming towards both him and Aiyana. What Aiyana thought she heard was "I'm going to bed now." A grunt left her mouth as she ran towards the knight, not wanting to give the man the advantage of lining up an attack on the stationary girl. The cautionary words from Ardere proved to be great advice. As she drew her weapon, bringing it up to block the attack that was swinging for her head, she was slid backward with the hit. The young woman jumped backward at the same time as the magical blast struck the armor of the mage; doing nothing but leaving a small dent that would have been laughed at had they all not been in combat.

"They have anti-magic armor! We'll never beat these guys, and they are not even a paladin!” Davey was, as usual, groaning unintelligible words as Aiyana let loose a bandage at the mage with her right hand; the left hand being the one wielding her Egyptian weapon. The bandage struck the weapon the man held, wrapping completely around it before she pulled with all her might. Not expecting such a cheap trick, trying instead to dodge thinking it was an attack on his body, the sword was torn from his hands to land back into the tunnels they had just been in. An angry grunt was all that the circumstances got out of the Pergrande man, the guy running at her again to fight with bare hands. ”That's a lot easier to deal with than that sword.” The mumbled words were backed up as she caught the fist with a side swipe of her weapon, the hook pushing the arm up and out of her way as she landed a full punch into the face of her enemy.

The man seemed to ignore the cracking noise that signified the breaking of his nose. Instead of flinching, or reacting at all to the pain, the knight simply let loose a kick that sent her to the ground. The 'oomph' that she made was cut off by the sound of Davey making a strange quacking noise as he clicked his staff, hard, against the ground. This resulted in a large magical barrier surrounding the opposing knight, the man bouncing off against it once before he realized what was going on. Instead of just standing there and allowing himself to be restrained the main shoulder charged, the barrier breaking at the expense of the shoulder guard of his armor. The time it took for him to do this was enough for Aiyana to get up and catch her breath, the woman speaking up to call her pet to summon help.

”Memory! Give me Bacor!” This was a new one for her to summon. It was the Zombie summoner she had defeated a long time ago. The extremely thin creature appeared in a flash of light, being summoned from Aiyana's memory of the defeated creature. It's pale white skin, and hair, had an anemic look to it as the monster roared loudly. The zombie master would be an excellent help for the rest of this job, provided it actually managed to survive long enough to be useful to them. The undead beast was stronger than it's lanky form gave it credit, not to mention the curse it could spread with just a single well placed bite. If all else failed she could have the creature summon up a batch of zombies if they needed a wall of bodies between them and the Pergrande defenders of the prison.

Dashing in, Ardere drew his arm back, the would thrust it forward with all of his might, red blade soaring through the air towards the man. Expecting to get a hard hit in, it seemed the man's resolve was much greater than he though, as he blade was blocked. The look on his opponent's face was not one of malice or evil, but one of a man doing his duty, defending what he thought was right. Sorry about this. In Pergrande they hated magic, so much so that they would arrest, and sometimes even kills mages. While this man had not necessarily done anything, the fire mage did not know his past, and if he was working for the government here than he was likely a bigot, and he would knock be walking away from his job today, but be carried out on a stretcher. Swiping the knight's blade to the side, his palm would slam into the man's throat, sending him back. The retaliation he would receive would be a kick to the chest, the brown haired man sliding back a couple meters, but he was far from done himself.

Rather than regaining his balance, he used the momentum to pivot, and dash forward with a barrage of slashes. Furiously slashing, each slash blocked by the knight, he went full speed, full force. It was beginning to seem that he was actually slightly faster than the knight, not by much, but as his conviction became more evident, and he furious attacks got faster, he began to slightly nick the knight each time. Ardere kept dashing forward, attack after attack, until he pierced the man's shoulder with his blade. Rather than killing him, he would punch his square in the face, knocking him out. Wiping his blade off, he kept it unsheathed. Turning to the group, assuming they were done with their enemy, he would nod. We gotta be quick in case more guards come. He went into a slight run down the hall, keeping as light of steps as possible as they moved. They were getting closer to the entrance to the bottom floor of the Keep. Soon they would just need to locate the dungeon, and get Remy the hell out of here.

The reaction the man had to her summon was extreme, something she should have expected from a knight in the service of the Pergrande military. ”You have committed a heinous crime, one of Necromancy! The punishment is your life, whether you lay down arms or not!” The speech was not one made while standing still, the armored man charging at her as he spoke. His charge was interrupted by a swift punch that connected with his right arm, Bacor being the one landing such a strike. The blow threw him off balance, the bandaged mage taking the opportunity to strike again at the head of the man. The strike was not done with a fist, but with the blunt part of her khopesh; the triple use blade connecting with a loud crack.

The concussed man's steps faltered for a bit, before he tried to throw a punch at Aiyana. The attack missed, and majorly so. With his arm going off to the right, apparently attacking a double image of the Sabertooth female, the woman caught it with the hook part of her armament before pulling as hard as she could. Tendons had to have been torn as the limb was pulled out of socket, the dazed man finally letting out a single moan before dropping to the ground; unconscious at last.

It was within moments after that, not even having a chance for Davey to speak or complain, that Ardere pressured them for quickness before reinforcements arrived. Aiyana followed closely behind Ardere, with Davey close behind, as her summoned zombie lord stayed a good distance back to keep from taking up too much space near them. The young woman dreaded coming up against any of the higher up Pergrande military members. If a simple knight was that powerful, what more could a Captain, or Paladin, do against them?

Post by Ardere Kasai 10th September 2015, 12:54 am

Breaking into as quiet of a sprint as he could, he kept himself at a pace in which his comrades could follow close behind. Step after step, he was moving so quickly that the walls and torches were beginning to become blurry. Mages were significantly faster than average humans, but these knights were even faster than that. To make up for their lack of magic, they trained their bodies so hard they could keep up with wizards if not surpass them. Gritting his teeth slightly, Ardere clutched his blade tight, he was going to need it in this hell hole. Dashing past several doors, he knew the way to the keep was a straight shot. He could see wind stairs that would lead up to the first floor. Luckily no opposition had appeared, it seemed no guards had heard the commotion in the hall way, at least not any close by. He had a feeling they would run into more guards soon, but for now they were in the clear.

Davey the duck however, did not seem too satisfied with the current situation. No doubt someone heard that, and they'll send a whole platoon after us! Next thing you know we'll be locked up with Remy, or worse! Focusing on the task at hand, the fire mage did not have much time to sit around and sulk, or complain about what was going on. He had not choice but to begin his descent up the winding stairs. Just keep it down, if we get Remy quickly, there wont be any problems. Keeping his blade away from the walls so it didn't rake them, his eyes scanned the area for potential intruders. He could hear foot steps, but they were not rushed. Perhaps the soldiers coming had barely heard a noise, due to the anti-magic steel being so thick. If so, then they would be in a more investigative mode than an aggressive one. If they could eliminate whoever was coming as quickly as possible, they might be able to make it to the raccoon without getting thrown in the same all as him. Moving up the stairs, he could tell the guards were still a bit of a ways off. Standing at the top of the stairs, they had many paths to choose from. Hopefully Davey would know the way well enough. Which way? The current area they were in was as rustic as below, but still very fancy for the first underground level. The dungeon should be on the other side of this level, which was a bit of a walk. Go left. Looking off that way, luckily he didn't see any guards just yet.

The pace set before her was an easy one to keep up with, she was faster than the average mage after all. Though Davey seemed to be a mage focused purely on magic, which was a blessing and a curse with where they were now. Doors passed by them as they continued in the line they ran in. Looking back, Aiyana would see Bacor bringing up the rear; the monster sniffing at each door lightly as he ran past. It looked like the kind of sniff one did when dinner was cooking, to try and see what was being made by the scent alone. The thought of it made her shiver a bit as they moved along, that her summons still held some remembrance of what they were and retained their base instincts and personality. It was good Memory was on her side, lest she would post one of the worst threats to others; pulling monsters and beasts from anyone at will.

It wasn't a silent trip, however, as Davey yet again was letting loose another string of unintelligible words. This time there was a large amount of them, Aiyana hearing something along the lines of “No bout unburden tat, hole platypus.” After that there was mentioning of Remy, and she heard the words “or worse” at the end of it. Ardere left slightly reassuring words in response, surely because all Davey could do was complain about how doomed they were in the hardest to understand way possible. 'Well, at least he doesn't spit everywhere when he talks. That would just make it even more aggravating,' the Sabertooth guild mage thought as the flame god slayer asked the duck mage which way to go. It was then that she, FINALLY, understood an entire phrase from their third member in the party; to go left!

Dashing left, Ardere found himself in a hall the lead to multiple storage rooms. He had been curious as to what else was down here other than the dungeons, and it seemed that rations as well as weapons were stored down here. Clutching his sword tight, he could hear guards coming. The unfortunate thing about these knights, were they gave off no real magical signature, which meant he had to rely on his senses to figure out where they were. As a slayer that was no problem, but the other two mages were not slayers. Davey seemed disgruntled by the whole situation, using one of his staves to increase his speed. The group of three silently moving through the underground, as a couple guards were closing in. It was not a significant force, just an investigative group to see what had happened. They were passing racks of weapons and rooms full of supplies.

He was curious as to what Remy was thinking when he got himself into trouble, and kidnapped in Pergrande, but he was sure he would find out all of that once they got the raccoon the hell out of here. His brown hair wavering in the wind slightly as he dashed, Ardere looked to his two partners to make sure they were alright. I'm gonna kill Remy myself if we get out of this. Smirking at the duck's comment, he knew he was just being sarcastic, but it was probably not the time for such remarks. Putting two arms out, he whispered something to the group. Stop. Ardere and Davey stopped, sliding across the ground a bit, and hopefully Aiyana would follow suit. Just as they did, two guards popped out from around the corner. They had not sounded the alarm yet, but they would have to take these guys out quickly.

The search for Remy would continue with the team following Ardere as they followed the directional instructions given to them from Davey. They passed rooms that stored many the item that were used by a country with a large military, or a military in general. Weapons on weapon racks, food rations that could last years, and many odd and ends were all stored on shelves or in crates. Had they been spies trying to sneak in and get the preparedness, and strength, of the country this prison would have been enough to decide. Pergrande seemed ready for anything, and easily ready for the unknown as well. Especially when one considered how expensive it was to create anti-magic items and armor. The small woman would have shuddered, had she not been trying to focus on the words Davey the duck was suddenly speaking.

Not a single word came out that she actually understood, but there was a single one from Ardere that she did; Stop. The stop was sudden, the bandaged mage coming to a sliding stop to end up just behind and to the right of the taller man. Memory, being a flying creature, had no issue with her pause of moment, nor did the summon have issue either; the creature simply grabbing a wall with one arm to slow his momentum. Up ahead in the distance there were two guards coming around the corner, one seeming to give orders to the other. 'Oh great! Is that someone in charge of the regular knights? Cause one is a knight and he's being given orders by the other it seems.' The thoughts were not happy ones, no one bit. They had no choice but to fight, though, as Remy was in the direction the guards were now blocking them from. ”Ardere,” Aiyana whispered just loud enough for the man to hear her voice, ”If you and Davey take on the one giving orders me, my pet, and Bacor can take on the knight.” She wasn't sure how strong the one in charge was, but surely the duck and flame god slayer could take him on easier than she could with just her zombie master.

Ardere took note of the two guards turning the corner, one seemed like a normal guard, but the other was wearing more significant armor with a crest. The two men looked surprised to see two intruders in their keep, but it did not stop them from drawing their blades. Nodding to Aiyana, she seemed to have a plan in mind already. Noted, we- His sentence was cut off by the dash of the Knight, who was presumably an officer. The fire mage brought up his red blade to block, and it worked for a moment, but after a second of clashing he was sent tumbling across the floor. Quickly regained his balance, it felt like his arm had been bruised just from the force of that clash. Widened eyes, focused and precise, the god slayer slid next to Davey. He's a Captain, I know I said we were dead but I'm not dying here young mage. Not at the hands of these bastards. Davey gripped his staff, and Ardere gripped his sword. Then let's do this. The duck pulled out another staff from his back and pointed them at the knight captain, blasting repeatedly, yellow and green energy. The man deflected two of the blasts with his sword while the others bouncing off his armor. Drats!

Then within seconds, the two swordsmen were clashing again. The fire mage could barely keep up with his slashes, but it was evident they were even in skill. Unfortunately even with similar skill, the man was just too fast for him. Taking a metal punch to the stomach, the sabetooth wizard slid across the floor. Shaking a bit, this fight was not going to go well. Davey, keep blasting. The duck complied, pulling out his strongest staff. Aiming at the captain, he fired a drilling blast of yellow light just before the man attacked the mage, the drill slightly cracking his armor and sending him sliding back. The attack fired was about A rank, but not enough to beat the captain. Continuously firing this attack, the captain was sliding back, distracted by the energy. The Samurai took this opportunity to dash in, coming in with a diagonal slash. Even though the man was distracted, he still stopped the slash. Staring the man in his blue eyes, Ardere began to lay out punches to his face, leaving black flames in it's wake. Repeatedly dishing out slashes as the duck fired light at him, he was able to land in a couple sword slashes. Dealing some decent damage to this captain, he smirked a bit. But this smirk was met with an iron kick to the side, sending him spiraling through the air. The fire mage regaining his balance swiftly as he slid across the floor was okay, but he had taken some damage. This man was strong, he had definitely bruised through the bone of his rib. It may have even been cracked, but the adrenaline pumping through his veins was too much for him to tell the difference. All that mattered was that they were wearing him down, no knight was going to defeat this samurai. His sword would slowly burst into flames, creating his sword of kings. A blade so long and full of flames that even the knight captain and Davey seemed surprised. This is the sword of kings, Davey be careful.

Aiyana did not wait long after Ardere was engaged in combat with the leading knight before she was in combat with the regular knight. This one had a different weapon however, using a halberd instead of a sword. The weapon was basically a spear, save for the fact that the end was a battle-ax instead of just the usual spear point tip. With khopesh drawn, and prepared for the fight this time, Aiyana swung around with the hooked part of the blade to redirect the swing of the man's weapon. She lunged forward as he tried to correct himself, the weapon pulling him slightly with it, as she landed a full blow to the chest of his armor with the blunt part of the weapon.

The strike dented the armor with the hit, but nothing else. Her opponent didn't smirk, not even a sign of pride, as he let loose a punch to Aiyana's chest; the young woman sailing a few feet through the air before she landed in a roll, a hand down on the ground as she sat on her knees. Before the knight could come in to beat on her Bacor made a low, deep bass, growl as a deep red light suddenly shown across the floor. Five zombies rose from the ground from those spots the light originated from, Bacor's signature move of zombie summoning at it's finest. The man did not make a speech like the other had, knowing full well they were the one's that had caused the disturbance from earlier that they were here to check on. Instead he went straight into the fray, killing off two of the Zombies before anything could actually attack him.

The Sabertooth mage used this as her chance to stand back up before letting a flick of her wrist launch out bandages at the man. The bandages did not just strike at the man, but were a spell she had taught herself with the holder style magic; the Pharaoh’s Burial Ceremony. The man suddenly found himself wrapped completely in bandages charged with magical energy, surely a problem for even one in anti-magic armor.

Lifting the Sword of Kings, Ardere dashed at his opponent. Davey back up for a moment, he seemed to be intrigued by the flame blade, but quickly shook it off to focus on the battle. Firing blasts at the captain, the man in armor seemed frustrated. Deflecting shots, he dashed towards the god slayer. His response would be a gargantuan flame blade coming horizontally his way, the blade being twisted so his opponent could not duck. It seemed that the knight was in front of his face within a second. The fire mage may not be as fast as he was, but he was fast enough to swing this blade at him. The flames colliding with the armor, most of it being shrugged off, but it did wear at the armor. Rapidly slinging the blade, the knight dashed below strikes or would leap over them. Luckily the large flame blade could keep him back, but it would not beat him. The duck saw this as an opportunity, and called upon a magic circle above the knight, streaks of lightning pouring down from the seal, which would probably be what did it, calling some guards. They had to beat these enemies within the next minute, or else they would not be able to make it down the hall to Remy.

Twirling his body, Ardere drug the blade up the ground towards the knight who's armor seemed to be weakening by the second. While he did this, the duck would create illusions of other mages around the knight, thus confusing him. The knight trying to strike through each illusion, would find they were not real. The fault in this, would be that it allowed the fire mage to dash in and slam his blade blade into his back. The flames and actual physical blade breaking the armor, and piercing his skin. Some blood running down his back, the god slayer spun around dishing out another hit in the back, knocking him down onto the floor. He looked to Davey. Let's get going. Under the assumption that Aiyana had beaten her opponent, he would catch up with her, and dash down the hall into the dungeon. The dungeon was much darker than the storage rooms or escape halls. It was damp, but still well kept. Thankfully they had an idea of where to go, and should reach Remy soon.

With three zombies, the master that controlled them, and the master of the master against him while he was bound in bandages, the knight now had a worried look on his face. Bacor and his zombies began a tirade of attacks on the armor of the Pergrande male as he struggled against the bandages, small tears showing over them as he used brute strength to attempt to get out of them. ”Oh no you don't!” It was all she got to say as she ran forward, arm holding the spell in place outstretched ahead of her as she tried to get closed enough to strike at the man with her weapon. Aiyana didn't get there in time, the man breaking loose in time to strike one zombie across the mouth. A head went flying as a body hit the floor, the man picking up his weapon to make short work of the other two zombies as Bacor punched the man directly into the face.

The strike drove the man backward as he swung his weapon at the large, white, creature. The blade struck across Bacor's chest, bloodying the creature as well as the ground with a spray of black blood; the blood of the curse. The monster grabbed the weapon before it could be pulled out of range, pulling on it to attempt to yank it out of their opponents hands. Instead of letting go, the knight surprised all around by managing to stay in place. However, the bandage mage let loose an attack with her bandages that struck across the back of his knee, causing a slight falter that her summon used to finish him off. Successfully obtaining his weapon as he fell forward, the zombie master used the handle of it like a weapon and knocked the knight to the ground on the other side of the room; definitely in a state to no longer fight.

She took a moment to catch her breath before Ardere and Davey came up to her, the three continuing into the darker part of the prison; the dungeon. With luck they would find Remy soon so they could begin their trek back out and to the ship so they could complete this job.

Ardere would dash through the hall sucking the flames off of his own blade until they disappeared, ten meters worth of flames consumed, with much more power than before due to his amulet and his tattoos. As they dashed through the halls, he would suck the flames off of all the torches in the hall as they dashed deeper into the dungeon. Sucking the flames off of every torch in the hall, as they progressed, it made the rooms behind them considerably dark. The duck was inquisitive, questioning the fire mage. What are you doing boy? The god slayer kept his eyes serious, and smirked a bit. Saving up all the energy I can, more of them will be coming. You can count on it. The duck nodded in agreement, more would indeed come. But as they got deeper into the dungeon, sucking away the flames would take away some of the light, so he snapped his fingers creating a flame in his hand. Using this flame to light up the hall, they finally ended up in the sector Remy was in. It was a cell on the end of the hall, considerably locked up.

As he walked up to the cell, he could see the raccoon. DAVEY! The raccon jumped up, grabbing the bars of his cell. We're gonna get you outta there ya dumb butt, just hold on. Now step back. The raccoon smiling as wide as ever, took a few steps back. Ardere lifted up his blade, and brought it down hard to break the lock. Allowing the raccoon to leap out of the cell, he hugged the duck. The old duck patting him on the back and groaning. Yeah yeah, now let's get going. The group together, now they would have to make their escape, but many guards were coming. They were going to need an escape plan, but the fire mage had one. Davey, gimme some flames. The duck seemed confused by the statement, but he provided a large amount of the flames for the sabertooth mage to consume, which he did. Sucking them in completely, he felt his magical power go past his previously thought limits, he was going to a lot of spells loose as soon as the guards got closer. He needed all of the magical energy he could get, and now he was overflowing with it. Torches lit down the hall, he could see the troops running towards him. Get ready to fight. The guards would be in their way, in their way of escaping. He hated to hurt these people, but they killed mages, and thus would receive no mercy from him. Thank you so much, but why is it so dark in here? The raccoon seemed grateful he was safe, but it was far from over. We got you out of your cell, but we're still in the keep, calm yourself Remy. The raccoon shutting up and nodding to the duck, the guards closed in. The fire mage stepping out in front of them, created a shield from his sword's ability, and it was powered up by his tattoos, as well as his amulet. Lighting up the entire hall, he could see the enemies coming, not that he needed to, as he could both smell and hear them. But instead he consumed the flames, sucking them into the depths of his stomach, noting at how rich they tasted.

The next few minutes of running through the dungeon were interesting, to say the least. The flame go slayer, known as Ardere Kasai to those that knew his full name, began to play a game of 'how much fire can I eat before we fight again.' Aiyana simply followed quietly behind the other two as she heard the duck and man converse before Davey nodded to the taller man's explanation about him preparing for more opponents. As the dungeon grew darker her job partner did them the honor of making himself their personal candle, using a small flame in his hand to give them light as he sapped the flames from all the torches; the area behind them basically pitch black.

After a while they came to a heavily locked cell, a raccoon walking up to the bars to yell out the duck mage's name before the two conversed. A sword would crush through the anti-magic locks, freeing the animal and reunited him with his duck companion. Ardere asked for some flames, lit torches showing up down the hall to show a large group coming towards them. 'Well...this doesn't look healthy for us.' Her thoughts were interrupted by a grunt from Bacor off to her right, the woman looking over to see the creature acting antsy as the men approached. ”Well, guess I should be prepared. Right? Memory, give me a random summon to give us an extra body to fight these guys.” A flash of light would bring forth another zombie creature; a Zombie Beaver. That was right, at one point in her life she had had to fight and kill a zombeaver! Even she had been dumbfounded when she had seen the monster coming at her back in that job.

”All right, Remy, let's see what you can do. We're gonna need everyone here to pull their weight to survive this escape.”
